[0:03]Al our last lesson we were speaking about the second of the
[0:58]holy prophet sallallahu alai Second Battle known as and we mentioned a
[1:03]few points a few important points regarding thewa uh we mentioned where
[1:11]is B where is this location and we also mentioned a particular
[1:18]Point regarding the people who believed in the IM of Muhammad we
[1:26]said obviously these people were misguided because Muhammad was not an IM
[1:31]was able he's a good man but he was not an IM
[1:36]and he was not part of the deviation he didn't tell people
[1:42]to believe in his IM um so we mentioned and we also
[1:46]mentioned an important Point pertaining to which is when he would leave
[1:56]the holy city of Medina he would uh leave someone in charge
[1:59]of Medina someone who basically protected Medina take care of the people
[2:04]of Medina during the absence of which proves a very important Point
[2:08]regarding imama and that is ifas Allah is not willing to leave
[2:14]Medina without a caretaker for an x amount of days or months
[2:16]then definitely he will not be willing to leave his Nation the
[2:23]whole nation the people of Medina Mecca Iraq Iran everyone basically uh
[2:29]without a caretaker uh and till the end of this current world
[2:33]until the day of judgment we wouldn't do that today inshallah we're
[2:40]going to continue and we're going to shed light on the third
[2:44]all right known as so we have a few points to mention
[2:51]before we go into the main topic or the more important topic
[2:58]uh we're going to mention inshallah the location uh secondly we'll mention
[3:08]the time of the the battle and we'll also mention the um
[3:12]a few a few important points especially the result of the battle
[3:17]what was the result of this battle again no actual fighting happened
[3:24]in this battle it was calleda but an actual fight did not
[3:28]take place which means that this happened before the B of B
[3:39]so starting off with the location is a is a name of
[3:45]a particular location or a particular land and in that Land There
[3:48]was a group of people called B mud B mudl were there
[3:58]in ask for the time of the battle it took place in
[4:04]Subhan Allah in our current month and the prophet sallallahu alai stayed
[4:12]there from and from from the from and he stayed there until
[4:21]so he stayed there for a few nights um that were part
[4:28]of J the amount of troops that participated in this battle were
[4:35]150 so the prophet sallallah alaih went to uh block the path
[4:44]of the Caravan of qur once again theab who was there Ben
[4:55]Mish yeah so the prophet Sall the goal behind this this was
[5:23]to as we said earlier uh block the path of uh the
[5:31]the Caravan of quray so he was there he was trying to
[5:52]catch or to block the path of the Caravan of quray the
[5:59]Caravan that would basically leave from Mecca to that was on its
[6:03]way from Mecca to Sham and this Caravan as we said before
[6:13]had goods and uh different kinds um or different types of of
[6:22]of wealth that had goods and and wealth in it but the
[6:26]prophet did not catch it it says the Caravan had basically passed
[6:34]by the time uh reached wherever he wanted to go yes this
[6:41]is a third I think with each of them it happens that
[6:47]the prophet tries to catch a caravan and he I don't want
[6:49]to say fails but he is unable to uhuh why is that
[6:54]here a person has to remember who is Al and has to
[7:01]read between the lines as they say perhaps uh his main goal
[7:10]isn't to catch the Caravan perhaps he wants to send an implicit
[7:17]message that's it hence as we've realized multiple times they try to
[7:22]catch the Caravan but the Caravan is already gone right or they
[7:29]they don't catch it um for perhaps that's not his uh his
[7:33]main goal s Al his main goal is to send a message
[7:38]to qur make sense yeah now what was the result of this
[7:46]battle one of the important results one of the important results was
[7:52]that the prophet sallallahu alai uh made a peace treaty with with
[8:01]uh let me just get the name here with Ben dumra and
[8:15]also with Ben mud so he made a peace treaty with Bish
[8:19]the people who were in and with their allies who were from
[8:24]Ben and this brings a question to mind in one of the
[8:29]previous battles we mentioned that he performed the peace treaty with B
[8:34]so uh what's Happening Here is it a second peace treaty with
[8:38]the same people or not so we say there are two possibilities
[8:42]perhaps yes the prophet sallallahu alai made a second peace treaty with
[8:47]the same people that peace treaty perhaps had other conditions in it
[8:58]or the second possibility is yes we're mentioning benum again but we're
[9:04]talking about people other people from benum as you all know when
[9:12]you have a tribe that tribe might consist of what of of
[9:15]hundreds of people if not more so if if you perform a
[9:22]peace treaty with a section in that tribe maybe other people in
[9:26]the tribe will not be pleased with the peace treaty so what
[9:34]I'm trying to say is it's possible the prophet performed a peace
[9:38]treaty previously with a group from and now in he performed the
[9:46]peace treaty with another group from Banu this was an important uh
[9:53]effect an important effect pertaining to because the more people trees he
[10:03]did s Al with the Arabs um the more uh peace would
[10:11]be created through these peace treaties right secondly uh when the prophet
[10:15]sallallah Al makes peace treaties with fellow Arabs number one he's showing
[10:25]the Arabs that he's not a man of war in the sense
[10:27]that he's uh he favors peace over War yes if they want
[10:34]to fight him he's ready to to defend himself with and the
[10:39]rest of the Muslims you have a question so he's giving that
[10:47]message thirdly this puts qur under more pressure when they more and
[10:53]more Arabs are now making peace treaties with alai wasallam these peace
[10:58]treaties kind of corner quray and um should lead them eventually to
[11:04]also making a peace treaty with s Al but we realize that
[11:11]quray are quite stubborn right hence B takes place and then takes
[11:15]place and then takes place they were stubborn however in year six
[11:20]as we shall mention a peace treaty actually takes place between the
[11:25]prophet Sall Al Al and uh the people of Mecca when he
[11:30]is going on his way to right and that is known as
[11:37]so this was one of the important effects or important results of
[11:44]a peace read took place between and between Ben mud and their
[11:50]allies who were from B think uh let me check one second
[12:15]sorry okay so here in he mentions that it is a land
[12:23]uh in which M were present and it is in a land
[12:35]called yan yan okay Yano which is in Arabia we had mentioned
[12:42]earlier that there were 150 men with there's another opinion saying that
[12:47]he left Medina with 200 and uh with 200 with 200 men
[12:56]so either 150 or 200 which is a small number if you
[12:59]think about it right um before hear question Ahmed and it mentions
[13:05]here that they had 30 camels 30 camels and they were basically
[13:11]taking turns in riding the camels we mentioning this so we realize
[13:17]more that at that point the pro the the Muslims um did
[13:23]not have uh you know sufficient animals for their army uh they
[13:29]didn't have the highest or the greatest kinds of weapons or Weaponry
[13:35]andah when we talk in when we talk about bad we will
[13:42]mention this that uh the enemies were more equipped than the Muslim
[13:47]and they outnumbered them but the Muslims ended up defeating the enemies
[13:59]group and he goes back to Med is there anything to show
[14:07]for that or do they write out two side by side treaties
[14:09]one for them one for to show other people that I have
[14:16]aace treat with well yeah naturally the peace treaty should be written
[14:22]right the peace treaty should be written um now if if one
[14:26]would want to see the actual wording of the peace treaty he'd
[14:32]have to search in in a Hadith books or history books to
[14:35]see is there an actual mentioning of the peace treaty what did
[14:41]they agree on in one of theat we did mention certain points
[14:44]that the prophet sallallah alai agreed on with his opponents so does
[14:50]that answer your question oral a verbal uh there should be there
[15:00]should be a physical copy there should be I'm basing this off
[15:04]of the incident of in hudia there was a physical copy there
[15:08]was something written um and also the of when performed peace reading
[15:20]with mu there was something written yeah all right so these are
[15:41]the uh the main points I wanted to mention about and these
[15:47]are the main points that uh or most of the points we
[15:54]mentioned are points mentioned in but the very interesting event which takes
[16:05]place in is that the prophet s for the first time called
[16:15]so this will be our main topic for today and possibly for
[16:20]next week Abu the literal meaning of Abu tab is what the
[16:26]father of dust or the father of sand so why call him
[16:33]let's look at the narration that mentions in his book by the
[16:39]way is a Sunni scholar M I'm going to send you the
[16:49]narration mentioned uh the same narration or something close to it in
[16:59]his book also summarized the the narration that we shall read in
[17:06]his book so let me send you whatam says and then we'll
[17:15]go from there I notic you said this was the first time
[17:26]yes are you implying that there are there occasions where he call
[17:33]him Abu H it seems like it yes yeah yes yes yeah
[17:35]he would call him Abu tab in uh multiple uh occasions uh
[17:42]but this was it seems that this was the first one the
[17:46]first time he he gets called AB so I sent you the
[17:51]um the text again this is in foram is a sun scholar
[17:57]you're going to realize that from the when he mentions the prophet
[18:01]he going to say s we say so he says he quotes
[18:10]what another scholar said called is says Muhammad Muhammad ya Muhammad narrated
[18:25]The Following tradition for me uh he said that he heard it
[18:29]from Muhammad who said that he heard it from Muhammad who said
[18:37]that he heard it from soar says I was with peace be
[18:54]upon him and we were companions in the battle of says when
[19:08]the prophet sallallahu Al settled in when he settled in which means
[19:16]is what is a piece of land or a location we saw
[19:18]a group of people who were these people we saw a group
[19:31]of people from we said were in they were living there these
[19:39]people were working in a uh field of palm trees and also
[19:44]there was a spring of water in that field so they were
[19:50]working in the spring of water and in the field told is
[20:08]he's known as Abu he told him shall we go to these
[20:17]people would you be interested in in going to these people so
[20:24]we may look at them and see how they are working I
[20:29]told him sure if you want you want to go we'll goar
[20:40]says so we went to those people and we began gazing at
[20:45]them seeing how they're working we kept doing so for an amount
[20:49]of time then we became drowsy they felt that they had to
[20:58]sleep [Music] says at that point I went with Ali and we
[21:10]got to a place where there were a bunch of palm trees
[21:19]and over there we um we lie down [Music] he says at
[21:35]that point when when we reached uh uh a specific land that
[21:42]had a bunch of palm trees there was um sand or dust
[21:45]on the the ground the ground was Dusty or Sandy so we
[21:49]slept on it so I'm going to translate what he says here
[22:03]and then I'm going to comment on the narration he says I
[22:09]swear by Allah by the time we woke up we realized that
[22:15]was beside us we woke up because of the Prophet was waking
[22:19]us up but here he says he was moving with his leg
[22:27]meaning that the prophet was basically uh trying to get to wake
[22:31]up and to wake up using his leg here makes a comment
[22:37]he says this part of the tradition cannot be accepted not the
[22:41]whole tradition the tradition is fine the content is fine except for
[22:49]this part the prophet Sall Al was a man of a man
[22:51]of morals a man of excellent morals he was the embodiment of
[22:58]excellent morals so he wouldn't use his leg to awaken and this
[23:08]is an important comment by which teaches us how to treat um
[23:17]historical narrations when you read a historical narration or when you read
[23:23]narrations in general you always have to think keep your minds open
[23:28]use your intellect think and analyze the narration sometimes uh most of
[23:34]the narration is correct but one part of it is problematic if
[23:39]one part of it is problematic it does not necessarily mean it
[23:43]does not necessarily mean that the rest of the narration is what
[23:49]is incorrect make sense perhaps the rest of it is incorrect perhaps
[23:55]it's not so we'd have to always analyze the see what is
[24:01]it saying does it coincide with alran or not does it coincide
[24:08]with the known teachings of or not Etc basically L they could
[24:15]just one word or added one word which kind of gives a
[24:23]different exactly yeah yeah and the the enemies of um they would
[24:28]use this trick where they mention something that's true but they mix
[24:34]it with falsehood because the best lie is the lie that has
[24:38]a bit of Truth in it yeah so if they simply fabricate
[24:45]an irration it's more likely that people will will refute it it's
[24:48]more likely some people might accept it sure but it's more likely
[24:52]there's a higher chance that it will be refuted by people or
[24:57]some people because it's what it's pure falsehood but when I mix
[25:01]falsehood with truth that's a different story here I can trick more
[25:05]people and we're going to realize that with Abu with the L
[25:12]of Abu the uh sorry the K Abu the uh the enemies
[25:15]of did fabricate narrations against IM Ali and against and they used
[25:25]the to link it to those narrations what did they say we
[25:31]will mention uh the narrations in a bit inshallah if we have
[25:36]enough time so he says here he says says this part cannot
[25:46]be accepted the prophet will not awaken and using his foot or
[25:55]using his leg a few times when this has come up in
[26:10]the past some people have actually reputed it just based on this
[26:13]part here that part right that this does not make sense we
[26:15]can't AC yeah yeah you're talking about so he says here uh
[26:33]he says that me and Ali Al and myself we had become
[26:40]Dusty because of the dusty land on which we slept on that
[26:58]day he told him what is the matter with you meaning what's
[27:01]what's happening what is the matter with you oh oh father of
[27:07]sand or father of of of dust he said this to him
[27:17]because of the the sand or the dust that was on IM
[27:21]Ali now what is the meaning of Abu we're going to take
[27:26]a look at that I don't think today but uh next week
[27:32]there are multiple meanings beautiful meanings pertaining to this and interestingly the
[27:41]Hadith say that this was the loved most which means that it
[27:52]holds an important meaning right not that I know of no then
[28:03]the prophet sallallahu alai foretold the future so he revealed one of
[28:10]his miracles in this specific battle pertaining to what did he say
[28:19]remember this is a Sunni book but it mentions a miracle that
[28:23]the prophet reformed which was in favor of IM aliam he told
[28:37]the IM he told H should I not tell you about the
[28:44]most wretched people two men meaning there are two men who are
[28:49]the most wretched we said indeed tell us oh messenger of Allah
[28:54]he said the two individuals who are the most wret human beings
[29:00]are the following number one he is the one who slew the
[29:10]she camel meaning the she camel of here does not mention his
[29:16]name but he mentions his description and he calls him my friends
[29:24]is the ofar in Arabic uh or more specifically Arabic grammar there's
[29:31]a chapter called Arabs sometimes will will um use a particular word
[29:38]and they'll do to it for example the word they'll turn it
[29:44]into means what means slave or servant right means little slave so
[29:53]when we talk means the little SL of Allah subhah waala um
[30:05]Hussein Hussein is the of so Hussein literally means the little Hass
[30:15]means something that's red or someone that's red is the little red
[30:23]man for example or the little red thing so the prophet called
[30:30]calls this individual who was very wretched he calls him meaning the
[30:38]little red man from why does he call him red is it
[30:42]because the man was kind of reddish his skin was kind of
[30:48]reddish maybe that's a possibility as for calling him little it could
[30:51]be because the prophet is belittling him he's telling you that this
[30:57]person is not an important person on the contrary he's he's cursed
[31:02]perhaps the man physically was big to the fact that the prophet
[31:07]is saying does not necessarily mean the man was small maybe he
[31:11]was big large in size but he was very small in importance
[31:18]so that's the first man who's the second man he says now
[31:23]I believe here there should be a wow perhaps it's a typo
[31:27]in the in the book itself or a tyer from the internet
[31:33]but anyhows here he mentions the second individual who is as we
[31:38]know AB the prophet does not name him in this narration but
[31:41]he describes him he says telling him it's the man who will
[31:50]strike you on this and he put his hand on the IM
[31:56]on the im's head on the top of his head then the
[32:08]prophet grabbed the imam's beard and he said he will make this
[32:15]meaning your beard humid from that meaning he'll strike you and your
[32:25]beard will become wet with your own blood as your blood drips
[32:28]on on as the blood of your head drips on your beard
[32:42]here we find as we said earlier revealing a miracle that is
[32:50]in favor of IM Ali he's foretelling the future regarding what will
[32:56]happen to IM Ali and indeed 30 years after Allah's approximately approximately
[33:07]39 years after this incident which was in the second year after
[33:11]approximately 39 years after uh this incident whatever the prophets had happened
[33:18]ABD committed his ultimate crime and struck the Im so the prophet
[33:26]was foretelling the future and that is one of his Miracles interestingly
[33:30]this is not in a Shia book yes the Shia books did
[33:35]mention the prophet's uh word regarding or his but it's also found
[33:46]in Sunni books Subhan Allah which is a proof that the Miracles
[33:51]uh that the Islamic narrations mentioned the Miracles pertaining to mentioned in
[33:58]Islamic sources whether we're talking about Sunni or Shia sources are actually
[34:05]true Miracles why do we say that I'll explain this might be
[34:10]dangerous question yeah apologize no problem this I don't mean to compare
[34:15]but calling yeah when we have the people who or himself and
[34:27]what he does on the after do we have explanation of why
[34:35]in or why is of all them um I don't recall reading
[34:44]anything in the Hadith there is an explanation that I've read a
[34:48]while back let me reread it and I'll answer your question inallah
[34:52]yeah no problem inallah Oram yeah so we said that this Hadith
[35:15]and similar a Hadith that mention uh Miracles done by R that
[35:24]are in favor of prove to us that the Miracles that the
[35:31]prophet performed which cannot be seen today with our eyes or talking
[35:36]about miracles other than the Quran the Quran you can see it
[35:39]you can look into it you can witness one of its miraculous
[35:44]aspects if not more but we're talking about miracles that were narrated
[35:50]like for example the tree walking up towards or Pebble a pebble
[35:56]or multiple Pebbles doing in the hand of such that people could
[36:01]hear the or the prophet bringing out water from his hand or
[36:09]hands from between his fingers and watering his army in one of
[36:14]his battles s alai these are Miracles that we have not seen
[36:19]and we cannot see today but we hear about them we read
[36:22]these Miracles we read about these Miracles when we read or hear
[36:26]theith these mirac Les someone might say these Miracles might have been
[36:31]fabricated by Muslim perhaps the Muslims they fabricated these miracles to you
[36:40]know kind of support Allah's prophethood to give more proofs that support
[36:45]his Prophet s and our reply to that is no these narrations
[36:51]are true they're correct they're not fabricated by Muslim uh why for
[36:58]several reasons one of which is look at these Miracles over here
[37:03]the Miracles that mention something that will happen to the Miracles that
[37:09]are in favor of for example the prophet mentions how IM Ali
[37:17]will be killed he's foretelling the future this Hadith goes in favor
[37:23]of who of right when the prophet mentions the sh of IM
[37:32]Hussein in and he tells what will happen he tells her that
[37:36]the the Tor ofala will turn into blood or blood will come
[37:41]out of it and when that happens she should know that IM
[37:43]Hussein has been killed scholar mentions this issue the issue of what
[37:50]we call these this narration goes in favor of who of yazid
[37:58]no it goes in favor of Hussein and what goes in favor
[38:02]of goes in favor ofm because that is the sect of one
[38:09]might say where are you going with this I'm saying we're saying
[38:18]that if uh there was no truth to the Miracles of R
[38:22]Allah which have been mentioned in Islamic Traditions than the Sunni callers
[38:31]like ibam or and others would not have narrated how foresaw the
[38:37]sh of IM Hussein or the sh of IM Ali because those
[38:43]are miracles of the Prophet they support yes but they also support
[38:51]IMI and IM Hussein's IM and when you're supporting their imama you're
[38:54]technically supporting shm so it would be better for them it would
[39:00]be better for the Sunni Scholars not to mention these narrations in
[39:05]their books but they couldn't because these narrations were true that's what
[39:10]we're trying to say so the fact that you have Sunni Scholars
[39:14]mentioning the Miracles of that go in favor of means that these
[39:21]Miracles were true which indicates that the Miracles mentioned by sunnis or
[39:26]sh in their Hadith books are not fabricated the're actual miracles the
[39:33]prophet performed Miracles and those Miracles were narrated by the Muslim does
[39:38]that make sense yeah uh yes go ahead one ofet and I
[39:50]that I think Arabia they have a hair of the Prophet we
[39:56]have this is because try to light on it another hair this
[40:02]one doesn't have a Shad while this one do they have one
[40:06]of the the the hairs of I'm not sure in Saudi AR
[40:10]Arabia maybe they do maybe they don't but uh yes in a
[40:16]Hadith it said that the prophet did not have a shadow okay
[40:23]I think we're out of time for this class check yes okay
[40:32]so we'll stop here inshallah and next week we'll continue with the
[40:41]Abu and we'll see uh or he what did the enemies of
[40:43]say in regards to this and if we have enough time we'll
[40:49]look at the meanings of Abu being
