[0:02][Music] Lantern of the path a collection of Hadith by IM ja
[0:11]part s section 60 purification if you seek purification and ablution then
[0:20]go to water as you would go to the mercy of Allah
[0:21]for he has made water the key to being near to him
[0:27]in intimate conversation and a guide to the domain of his service
[0:30]just just as the mercy of Allah purifies the wrong actions of
[0:35]his bondsmen so are outward impurities cleansed only by water as Allah
[0:40]said it is he who sends the winds as good news before
[0:42]his mercy and we sent down pure water out of heaven in
[0:48]chapter 25: 48 and elsewhere we have made of water everything living
[0:51]will they not then believe in chapter 21:30 as he gives life
[0:57]to every blessing in this world from water so by his Mercy
[0:59]mercy and overflowing favor he gives life to the heart into acts
[1:05]of obedience and to reflection in the purity of water its finess
[1:09]its cleanliness its blessing and the subtleness of how it mixes with
[1:12]everything through water he also gives life to the heart when you
[1:18]purify those limbs when you have been commanded by Allah to purify
[1:21]and which you use to Worship in your obligatory and customary prayers
[1:25]from each limb come many benefits when you treat the limbs with
[1:28]respect then their benefit will soon spring up for you deal with
[1:34]Allah's creation like water which mixes with things and gives everything it's
[1:38]due while not changing itself in essence this is expressed by the
[1:42]words of the messenger of Allah s Al the sincere believer is
[1:45]like water let your Purity with Allah and all your obedience be
[1:48]like the purity of water when he sent it down out of
[1:53]the heaven and called it pure purify your heart with precaution and
[1:56]certainty when you purify your limbs with water section 61 entering the
[2:01]mosque when you reach the door of the mosque know that you
[2:05]have come to the door of a mighty king only the purified
[2:07]tread on his carpet and only the true are allowed to sit
[2:12]with him so be alert in your approach of the court of
[2:16]the awesome King for you are in great danger if you're heedless
[2:18]know that he can do whatever he wishes in Justice and overflowing
[2:21]favor with you and by you if he inclines to you with
[2:26]his mercy and overflowing favor he has accepted a small amount of
[2:30]your OB obedience and has given you a great reward for it
[2:35]if he demands his due of truthfulness and sincerity by his Justice
[2:38]towards you he has veiled you and rejected your obedience even if
[2:42]you have had obedience in abundance he does what he Wills acknowledge
[2:47]your incapacity inadequacy fragility and poverty before him for you have turned
[2:53]yourself to worshiping him and being close to him turn to him
[2:57]and know that neither the secret nor the revealed part of any
[3:00]creature is hidden from him be like the poorest of his servants
[3:03]before him strip your heart of every occupation which might Veil you
[3:07]from your Lord for he only accepts the purest and most sincere
[3:12]look to see in which register your name will be written if
[3:15]you taste the sweetness of his intimate conversation and the pleasure of
[3:19]his addressing you and drink the cup of his mercy and those
[3:23]favors he has bestowed on you and those of your requests which
[3:26]he has accepted then you have served him properly and may therefore
[3:29]for enter the sphere of his permission and security if not then
[3:33]stand as one whose power and ability have been cut off and
[3:39]whose term has come to an end if Almighty Allah knows that
[3:41]in your heart you are sincerely seeking Refuge with him he will
[3:47]regard you with compassion mercy and kindness he will cause you to
[3:50]succeed in that which he loves and which is pleasing to him
[3:52]for he is generous he loves Noble generosity and the worship of
[3:57]those who need him and who are burning up at his door
[3:59]seek seeking his good pleasure Allah said who answers the distressed one
[4:04]when he calls upon him and removes the evil in chapter 27:
[4:10]62 section 62 supplication observe the courtesy of Supplication consider the one
[4:16]on whom you call how you call on him and why you
[4:17]call affirm the immensity and magnificence of Allah look with your heart
[4:22]at how he knows what is in your conscience how he sees
[4:26]your secret being and whatever has occurred and will occur in it
[4:30]both true and false learn the paths to your salvation and destruction
[4:34]so that you do not call upon Allah for something which perhaps
[4:38]contains your destruction but which you suppose to contain your salvation Allah
[4:43]said man prays for evil as he ought to pray for good
[4:46]and man is ever Hasty in chapter 17:1 reflect about what you
[4:52]ask for and why you're asking supplication should be a total response
[4:55]to the truth on your part and a melting of the heart
[4:59]in contemplation of its Lord it is to abandon all choices and
[5:03]to surrender all matters both outward and inward to Allah if the
[5:07]preconditions of the supplication are not meant then do not look for
[5:10]fulfillment for he knows what is secret and what is hidden you
[5:15]might ask him for something when he knows that you conceal the
[5:17]opposite of it one of the companions said to the others you
[5:22]are waiting for rain and I'm waiting for Stones know that if
[5:25]Allah had not commanded us to call on him he would nevertheless
[5:30]have favored us with answer immediately after we've finished the prayer how
[5:34]then is his favor given the fact that he has guaranteed that
[5:37]answer to whoever fulfills the conditions of the prayer the messenger of
[5:42]Allah s.
[5:44]was asked about the most powerful name of Allah he said every
[5:47]name of Allah is most powerful free your heart from all that
[5:50]is other than him and call on him by whatever name you
[5:54]like in reality Allah does not have one name rather than another
[5:58]he is Allah the one one the almighty the holy prophet sallallah
[6:03]said Allah does not answer the supplication of a heedless heart when
[6:07]one of you wants his Lord to give to him whatever he
[6:11]asks of him he should renounce all people putting his hope in
[6:14]Allah alone when Allah sees that in his heart he will give
[6:19]him whatever he asks when you have established the preconditions of Supplication
[6:23]which I have mentioned and have become sincere in your innermost being
[6:27]for his sake then rejoice in the good news that one of
[6:30]three things will happen either he will hasten to give you what
[6:35]you have asked for or he will store up something better for
[6:37]you or he will avert from you an Affliction which would have
[6:42]destroyed you had he sent it the holy prophet sallallah alai reported
[6:45]that Allah said if anyone is distracted from asking me by his
[6:49]own remembrance of me I will give him better than what I
[6:53]give to those who ask I called on Allah once and he
[6:55]answered me I forgot the need because of the fact that when
[7:00]he answers the supplication his bestow is far greater and more Sublime
[7:04]than what the bondsman desires from him even if it be the
[7:06]garden and its Eternal blessings this is understood only by lovers who
[7:13]act gnostics and the elite and the select of Allah section 63
[7:17]fasting the holy prophet sallallah alai said fasting is a protection from
[7:21]the calamities of this world and Avail from punishment of the next
[7:25]when you fast intend thereby to restrain yourself from fleshly appetite SES
[7:29]and to cut off those worldly desires arising from the ideas of
[7:34]Satan and His Kind put yourself in the position of a sick
[7:37]person who desires neither food nor drink expect recovery at any moment
[7:43]from the sickness of wrong actions purify your inner being of every
[7:48]lie turbidity heedlessness and darkness which might cut you off from the
[7:52]meaning of being sincere for the sake of Allah somebody said to
[7:55]one of the companions you're already weak fasting will weaken you further
[7:58]I am preparing that fast for the evil of a long day
[8:03]he said patience in obeying Allah is easier than patience in his
[8:06]punishment and the messenger of Allah sallallah alai once quoted Allah's words
[8:11]fasting is done for me and I am its reward fasting kills
[8:16]the desire of the self and the appetite of greed and from
[8:19]it comes purity of the heart purification of Limbs cultivation of the
[8:23]inner and outer being thankfulness for blessings charity to the poor increase
[8:28]of humble supplication humility weeping and most of the ways of seeking
[8:36]refuge in Allah and it is the reason for the breaking of
[8:38]aspiration the lightening of evil things and the redoubling of Good Deeds
[8:42]it contains benefits which cannot be counted it is enough that we
[8:48]mention some of them to the person who understands and is given
[8:51]success in making use of fasting if Allah Wills section 64 abstinence
[8:55]abstinence is the key to the door of the next World and
[8:58]freedom from the fire fire it consists of leaving everything which could
[9:02]distract you from Allah without regret nor feeling proud about leaving it
[9:08]nor waiting for relief from your renunciation nor seeking any praise for
[9:11]it indeed abstinence means a person considering such things to be of
[9:17]no avail to him he deems their passing him by as a
[9:19]relief and comfort for him and their presence as a misfortune for
[9:24]him thus he always flees from Misfortune and clings to what brings
[9:27]him ease and relief the man of abstinence is the one who
[9:30]chooses the next world he chooses a basement over might and this
[9:36]world striving over rest hunger over being full the well-being of what
[9:40]is to come later over immediate trials and Remembrance over heedlessness his
[9:45]self is in this world and his heart is in the next
[9:47]World the messenger of Allah Sall Al said love of this world
[9:53]is the Fountain of every error and elsewhere this world is a
[9:57]corpse whoever seeks it is like a dog do you not see
[10:01]how it loves what Allah hates what error is a greater crime
[10:04]than this one of the Holy prophets family said if all of
[10:09]this world were a morsal in a child's mouth we would have
[10:12]mercy on him what then is the state of someone who throws
[10:16]the limits set by Allah behind his back seeking and Desiring this
[10:19]world if the dwelling place of this world had been any good
[10:22]it would not have shown you Mercy nor answered you and would
[10:27]have bidden you farewell in departure the messenger of Allah sallai said
[10:33]when Almighty Allah created this world he commanded it to obey him
[10:37]and it obeyed its Lord he told it oppose the one who
[10:39]seeks you and give success to the one who opposes you it
[10:45]acts according to what Allah charged it to do and what he
[10:47]impressed upon its nature section 65 a description of this world this

[10:57]avarice whose ears are greed whose tongue tongue is dissimulation whose hand
[11:02]is desire whose legs are vanity whose heart is heedlessness whose being
[11:06]is Annihilation and whose product is extinction it brings Pride to whoever
[11:11]loves it avarice to whoever prefers it greed to whoever seeks it
[11:17]and cloaks with hypocrisy whoever Praises it it gives vain power over
[11:22]whoever desires it it leads to heedlessness in the person who relies
[11:25]on it it seduces whoever admires its goods but those Goods do
[11:31]not last for him it Returns the person who gathers it and
[11:34]is miserly with it to its own Abode which is the fire
[11:39]section 66 reluctance to act a person who feels reluctant to act
[11:42]falls short of what is correct even if he does right while
[11:47]a person who acts voluntarily is correct even if he s The
[11:52]Reluctant one obtains only contempt in the end and weariness Toil and
[11:55]misery while he is carrying out the action the outer being being
[12:00]of a reluctant person is showing off and his inner being is
[12:03]hypocrisy they are the wings with which he flies The Reluctant person
[12:07]never has any of the qualities of the righteous nor any of
[12:12]the marks of the Believers wherever he is as Allah said to
[12:16]his Prophet sallai say I do not ask you for any reward
[12:19]for it nor am I of those who affect act with reluctance
[12:26]in chapter 38: 87 the holy prophet sallallah alai said we the
[12:30]company of prophets the fearfully aware the trusty we disavow The Reluctant
[12:35]so fear Allah and do away with reluctance and it will Mark
[12:41]you with a sign of belief do not be occupied with something
[12:43]whose garment is Affliction with food which in the end is emptiness
[12:46]with an abode whose end is ruin with wealth whose end is
[12:52]to be inherited by others with comrades whom in the end one
[12:55]must take leave of with Glory which in the end is a
[13:00]basement with loyalty which in the end is abandonment or with a
[13:04]life whose end is grief section 67 delusion a person who is
[13:08]deluded is wretched in this world and is duped in the next

[14:08]are really praising yourself know that you will only emerge from the
[14:11]darkness of delusion and Desire by sincerely turning in Repentance to the
[14:15]almighty Allah and to whatever you know about him and to recognize
[14:21]the faults in yourself which are not consistent with your intellect and
[14:23]knowledge in which the faith the law and the customary practices of
[14:28]the holy prophet sallallah and the IMs of Guidance Do not tolerate
[14:33]if you're content with your present condition there's no one more wretched

[15:47]has described the Hypocrites in more than one place he said and
[15:50]among men is he who serves Allah standing on the verge so
[15:53]that if good befalls him he's satisfied therewith but if a trial
[15:57]afflicts him he turns back headlong he loses this world as well
[16:03]as the next that is a manifest loss in chap 22:1 in
