[0:10]part six section 50 corruption the corruption of the outward being comes
[0:16]from the corruption of the inward if you put your innermost being
[0:22]in order Allah will put your outward being in order if you
[0:25]fear Allah inwardly he will not Rend the veil publicly but he
[0:31]who betrays Allah inwardly Allah will expose in the open the greatest
[0:36]corruption is born of prolonged expectation greed and pride as Allah told
[0:41]us in the story of karun when he said do not seek
[0:45]to make Mischief in the land surely Allah does not love the
[0:47]corruptors in chapter 28: 77 elsewhere he said as for that future
[0:55]Abode we assign it to those who have no desire to exalt
[0:57]themselves in the earth nor to make mischief and the good end
[1:03]is for those who have precaution in chap 28: 83 the defects
[1:06]come from what did and believed the root of corruption lies in
[1:12]loving this world amassing its wealth following the self elevating its appetites
[1:18]loving praise agreeing with Satan and following his footsteps all of these
[1:23]faults combined with a love of paying Allah no heed and forgetting
[1:26]his favors therefore you should flee from people reject the World interrupt
[1:31]your rest break with your normal habits cut off the source of
[1:35]worldly appetites at the root by constantly remembering Allah and clinging to
[1:40]obedience to him and enduring people's aversion the over dependence of a
[1:45]comrade and hostile malice on the part of your family and relatives
[1:48]if you do that then the door of Allah's kindness will be
[1:53]open to you since he has good regard for you as well
[1:55]as forgiveness and mercy you will have left the company of the
[2:00]heedless and freed your heart from the Captivity of Satan you will
[2:03]come to the door of Allah in the company of those who
[2:07]come to him and you will travel a path on which you
[2:08]may hope to be permitted to come to the noble and the
[2:14]magnanimous the generous the merciful section 51 well-being seek well-being from Allah
[2:19]wherever you are in every state you may be in for your
[2:22]faith your heart and the ultimate outcome of your Affairs he who
[2:28]seeks it does not always find it how then is it that
[2:30]the are some who expose themselves to Affliction travel the opposite path
[2:34]to well-being and oppose its principles seeing safety is destruction and destruction
[2:40]is safety well-being has been taken away from people in every age
[2:44]especially this one yet it can be rediscovered through enduring antipathy and
[2:49]even injury from other people through patience in the face of disaster
[2:54]making light of death fleeing from whatever is reprehensible and being content
[2:59]with a minimum of material possessions if you're not like that then
[3:03]you must go into Retreat if you cannot do that then be
[3:08]silent although silence is not the same as Retreat if you cannot
[3:10]be silent then speak what will help you and not harm you
[3:15]but that is not the same thing as silence if you cannot
[3:19]find any way to do that then move about by journeying from
[3:21]land to land casting yourself into the Uncharted territories with a pure
[3:28]intention humble heart and steadfast body Allah said surely as For Those
[3:32]whom the Angels cause to die while they are unjust to their
[3:37]souls they shall say in What state were you they shall say
[3:39]we were oppressed in the land they shall say was not Allah's
[3:45]Earth spacious so that you could have migrated therein in ch 4:
[3:49]97 take whatever belongs to the rightly acting bondsman of Allah do
[3:54]not struggle with obscure matters nor contend with contradictions if anyone tells
[3:59]you I say you do not claim knowledge in anything even if
[4:03]you're an expert in it uncover your secret only to one who's
[4:08]nobler in the faith than you and thus you will find nobility
[4:10]if you do this you will obtain well-being and you will remain
[4:16]with Almighty without any connection to anything else section 52 worship preserve
[4:20]and Performing the customs and obligations in worship I for they are
[4:25]the source whoever obtains them and performs them properly has obtained everything
[4:30]the best form of worship is that which comes nearest to security
[4:34]this is one of the most free of harm and the most
[4:38]consistent be it ever so small if you have performed your obligatory
[4:41]and supererogatory prayers then you are a true worshipper beware of treading
[4:49]on the carpet of a king unless you do with abasement acknowledgement
[4:52]of need fear and respect make your movements free of showing off
[4:57]and your secret free of hardness the holy Prophet sallallah said the
[5:02]person who prays is conversing with his Lord so be embarrassed before
[5:07]the one who cognizant of your secret who knows your conversation and
[5:12]what your conscience conceals be whereare he will see you doing what
[5:16]he wants you to do and Performing that to which he has
[5:21]summoned you those who have gone before us occupied themselves from the
[5:25]moment they completed one obligatory prayer to the moment they started another
[5:29]so that they could perform both prayers sincerely and correctly it seems
[5:32]that in our times it has become a virtue to leave the
[5:35]obligatory aside which is like having a body without a soul Al
[5:41]Hussein said I wonder at a person who seeks something extra while
[5:45]he abandons an obligation he only does so because he lacks recognition
[5:49]of the matter and respect for it he does not see Allah's
[5:53]will in Preparing People to obey his command in choosing that for
[5:57]them section 53 reflection reflect on what has past of this world
[6:01]has any of it remained for anyone has anyone remained in it
[6:07]be he Noble or lowly rich or poor friend or enemy similarly
[6:11]what has not yet happened of it resembles more closely that which
[6:15]has passed of it then water resembles water the messenger of Allah
[6:19]Sall alai said death is enough of a Warner the intellect is
[6:24]enough of a guide precaution is enough of a provision Worship Is
[6:28]Enough of an occupation Allah is sufficient as an intimate friend the
[6:33]Quran is enough of a clarification and elsewhere only Affliction and trial
[6:39]remain of this world if a person is saved it is only
[6:45]by sincerely seeking refuge and N said I found this world to
[6:47]be like a house with two doors I entered through one of
[6:51]them and went out through the other such is the state of
[6:53]the one who was saved by Allah so what is the state
[6:57]of one who feels at ease in this world relies on it
[6:59]wait Wast his life by cultivating it and is full of worldly
[7:04]demands reflection is the mirror of good deeds and the experation of
[7:07]bad Deeds it is the light of the heart and guarantees ease
[7:13]to other people and success in obtaining betterment for the next Abode
[7:16]it allows one to foresee the outcome of one's actions and causes
[7:20]an increase in knowledge worship of Allah is unparalleled when accompanied by
[7:26]this quality the messenger of Allah sallai said to reflect for one
[7:31]hour is better than worshiping for a year the station of reflection
[7:33]is only obtained by him whom Allah has singled out for the
[7:40]light of noses and toed section 54 rest the believer only acquires
[7:43]true rest when he meets Allah although rest may also be obtained
[7:46]by these four things Silence by which you recognize the state of
[7:52]your heart and yourself in your relations with your creator retreat by
[7:56]which you are rescued from the evils of the age outwardly and
[8:01]inwardly hunger which kills fleshly appetites and Temptation and wakefulness which illuminates
[8:06]your heart purifies your nature and cleanses your spirit the holy prophet
[8:10]sallallah alai Al said if a man finds himself in the morning
[8:16]tranquil in his heart healthy in body and with food for the
[8:18]day it is as if all of this world had been chosen
[8:23]for him and W said in the first and the last books
[8:26]it is written oh contentment honor and riches are to be found
[8:33]with you whoever wins wins through you Abu alard said what Allah
[8:36]has allotted to me will not pass me by even if it
[8:41]were on the wing of a breeze and Abu said the secret
[8:44]of a man who does not trust his Lord is always exposed
[8:47]even if it is imprison and Solid Rock no one is in
[8:52]a greater state of loss is Vier or lower than the person
[8:54]who does not believe what his Lord has guaranteed for him and
[8:59]en lotted him before he created him in spite of that this
[9:02]person relies on his own strength management effort and striving and goes
[9:07]beyond the limits of his Lord by his seeking Ways and Means
[9:10]which Allah has caused him to have no need of section 55
[9:15]avarice do not covet anything avariciously for if you ignore it it
[9:19]will come to you anyway if it is destined to be yours
[9:22]then you would find ease in your heart with Allah praise for
[9:24]leaving it but you will be blamed for your haste in seeking
[9:29]it for not trusting him and for not being content with the
[9:32]decree Allah created this world the same as a shadow when you
[9:37]chase it it tires you out and you can never catch up
[9:38]with it if you leave it alone it will follow you inexorably
[9:42]and it gives you no cause for fatigue the holy prophet sallallah
[9:46]Al said a Covetous man is bereft yet in spite of his
[9:53]deprivation he's blamed wherever he is for how could he be other
[9:55]than bereft when he flees from the Covenant of Allah and opposes
[9:58]his words Allah is he who created you then gave you sustenance
[10:04]then he causes you to die then brings you to life in
[10:06]chapter 30: 40 the Covetous person is in the midst of seven
[10:13]difficult evils thinking which harms his body but brings it no help
[10:16]anxiety which has no end weariness from which he will find rest
[10:20]only in death although he has the greatest weariness when at rest
[10:26]fear which only makes him fall into what he fears sorrow which
[10:30]makes his livelihood Disturbed without any benefit to him Reckoning which will
[10:35]not save him from the punishment of Allah unless he pardons him
[10:39]and punishment from which there is neither flight nor escape the one
[10:43]who trusts in Allah spends morning and evening in his protection and
[10:46]well-being Allah has hastened for him what suffices him and prepared for
[10:53]him things which only Allah knows avarice is What flows out from
[10:56]Allah's anger when the slave is not bereft of certainty he's is
[11:00]not Covetous certainty is the earth of Islam and the heaven of
[11:06]Iman section 56 clarification the intimate conversation of the gnostics possesses three
[11:10]Roots fear hope and love fear is the branch of knowledge hope
[11:16]is the branch of certainty and love is the branch of nosis
[11:20]M the proof of fear is flight the proof of Hope is
[11:25]Quest and the proof of Love is preferring the Beloved over all
[11:29]others when knowledge is is confirmed in truthfulness he fears when fear
[11:33]is genuine he flees when he flees he is saved when he
[11:37]sees the light of certainty in the heart he sees overflowing favor
[11:41]when the vision of overflowing favor is firm there is hope when
[11:45]he feels the sweetness of belief in hope he seeks when he
[11:50]has success in the quest he finds when the light of nosis
[11:53]is manifested in his heart the breeze of Love stirs he settles
[11:58]in the shadow of the Beloved beloved prefers the Beloved over all
[12:02]others follows his commands and avoids his prohibitions and chooses them over
[12:06]everything else when he perseveres towards intimacy with the Beloved while carrying
[12:11]out his commands and avoiding his prohibitions he has reach the spirit
[12:15]of intimate communion and nearness these three roots are Al likee the
[12:23]sanctuary the mosque and the Caba whoever enters the sacred Precinct is
[12:26]safe from people if a person enters the mosque his sense are
[12:29]safe from being used in Disobedience and if a person enters the
[12:35]Caba his heart is safe from being occupied with anything other than
[12:38]the remembrance of Allah take heed oh believer if you are in
[12:41]a state in which you are content to meet death then thank
[12:46]Allah for his grace and protection if it is other than that
[12:48]then move from it with sound resolution and have regret for that
[12:53]part of your life which passed in heedlessness seek Allah's help in
[12:56]purifying your outward nature of wrong action and cleanse your inward being
[13:03]from faults cut the shackles of heedlessness from your heart and extinguish
[13:07]the fire of Desires in your soul section 57 judgments the heart
[13:11]may be described as belonging to one of four types uplifted open
[13:16]low or stopped the uplifting of the heart lies in remembrance of
[13:24]Allah the fat meaning opening of the heart lies in the pleasure
[13:27]of Allah the meaning lowering of the heart lies in occupation with
[13:32]anything other than Allah and the W meaning stopping of the heart
[13:37]lies in paying heed to anything other than Allah do you not
[13:40]see that when a servant remembers Allah with sincere respect every Veil
[13:44]that was between him and Allah is removed if the heart obeys
[13:49]the source of Allah's decree and is content with that then how
[13:53]do Happiness joy and worldly rest open up to him when the
[13:56]heart is occupied with some of the matters of this world world
[14:01]and its means how then can it find what Allah has mentioned
[14:04]then the heart becomes reduced and dark like an empty ruined house
[14:08]which has neither Prosperity nor occupant when a person is distracted from
[14:13]remembering Allah then you see what he has stopped from advancing and
[14:19]veiled he has become obdurate and dark since leaving the light which
[14:22]issues from the servant's veneration of his Lord the sign of rth
[14:27]lies in agreement in every respect lack of opposition and constant yearning
[14:31]the sign of fat lies in trustful dependence on Allah truthfulness and
[14:37]certainty the sign of lies in Pride showing off and greed and
[14:41]the sign of w lies in the departure of the sweetness of
[14:46]obedience lack of the bitterness of rebellion and of confusion in the
[14:50]knowledge of what is permitted and what is forbidden section 58 siak
[14:54]the messenger of Allah s.
[14:57]said using the Sak purifies the mouth and is pleasing to the
[15:03]Lord and he made it one of the confirmed practices it has
[15:05]benefits for both the outward and the inward being which even men
[15:11]of intelligence cannot count as you remove the stains caused by food
[15:15]and drink from your teeth with the Sak so remove the impurity
[15:17]of your wrong actions by Humble intreaty humility night prayers and asking
[15:23]for forgiveness Before Dawn purify your outer being from impurities and your
[15:28]inner being from the turbidity of Acts of opposition and committing anything
[15:32]prohibited all the while acting sincerely for Allah the holy prophet sallallah
[15:37]alai Al made its use an example for people for alertness and
[15:42]attention in that the seok is clean soft plant and Twig of
[15:48]a blessed tree the teeth are what Allah created in the mouth
[15:51]as a tool for eating an Implement for chewing a reason for
[15:57]enjoying food and for keeping the intestines in order the teeth are
[16:00]pure Jewels which become dirty because they're present when food is chewed
[16:04]leading to a deterioration in the way the mouth smells and decay
[16:09]in the gums when the intelligent believer cleans with a soft plant
[16:13]and wipes it on these pure Jewels he removes the Decay and
[16:16]adulteration from them and they then revert to their original state similarly
[16:21]Allah created the heart pure and clean and made its food remembrance
[16:28]reflection awe and respect when the pure heart turns gray by being
[16:31]fed on heedlessness and vexation it is Polished by the burnish of
[16:35]repentance and cleaned by the water of regret so that it reverts
[16:40]to its Primal state and its basic Essence as Allah said surely
[16:43]Allah loves those who turn and repentance to him and he loves
[16:46]those who purify themselves in chapter 2: 222 in recommending the use
[16:51]of the seok the holy prophet sallallah was advocating that it be
[16:58]used on the teeth themselves but but he also implied the meaning
[17:00]and example we have referred to above that for anyone who empties
[17:04]his faculty of reflection for the purpose of drawing inward lessons from
[17:08]the outward examples with respect to both the principle and roots of
[17:14]Faith Allah will open the Springs of wisdom and will give him
[17:17]still more of his overflowing favor for Allah does not neglect the
[17:20]reward of those who act well section 59 using the lavatory the
[17:24]lavatory is called in Arabic the place of rest because there there
[17:30]people may find rest from the burden of impurities and empty themselves
[17:33]of grossness and filth there the believer May reflect on how he's
[17:37]cleansing himself from the food and perishable matter of this world and
[17:41]how his own death will come in like manner therefore he should
[17:45]find ease in avoiding the world leaving it aside and freeing himself
[17:49]and his heart from its distractions he should be averse to taking
[17:53]and gathering this world just as he loathes impurity the laboratory and
[17:57]filth reflect on how something good in one state becomes so base
[18:02]in another he knows that holding on to a contentment and precaution
[18:06]will bring him ease in the two abodes thus ease comes from
[18:09]considering this world to be insignificant giving up one's enjoyment of it
[18:15]and removing the impurity of what is forbidden or doubtful a person
[18:20]closes the door of Pride on himself once he recognizes this he
[18:23]flees from wrong actions and opens the door of humility regret and
[18:28]modesty he strives to carry out Allah's commands and to avoid his
[18:31]prohibitions seeking a good end and excellent proximity to Allah he locks
[18:36]himself in the prison of fear steadfastness and the Restraint of his
[18:40]appetites until he reaches the safety of Allah in the world to
[18:45]come and taste the food of his good pleasure if he intends
[18:48]that everything else means nothing to him
