[27:00]and sisters we would like to welcome you all to the eighth
[27:09]night of the Barcelona project English program as the dear audience is
[27:17]already aware since 90 already posted the topics ahead of time this
[27:21]is just to reiterate that today's topic may not be suitable for
[27:25]the younger audience please recite someone peace and blessings be upon Hussein
[27:37]and Ali the son of husseini and the children of Hussein and
[27:42]the companions of Hussein we ask Allah to accept all your Deeds
[27:46]and hasten the reappearance of the norm of our time Muhammad um
[28:49]foreign please [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music]
[31:15]come on come on For the Love of our beloved prophet and
[31:42]his beloved progeny a second loud salawat um for the hastening in
[31:52]the return of our beloved twelfth Imam a third final loud salawat
[32:01]the topic that we'll be discussing tonight inshallah is studying the Muslim
[32:05]response to changing sexual Norms within Society the MC pointed this out
[32:12]I'll just reiterate this before we get into this topic that of
[32:15]course the terminology that we'll be using in today's talk may not
[32:19]be suitable for some of the younger audience amongst us if you're
[32:22]younger maybe you can find your mother you can find your father
[32:26]and inshallah they can decide if this is suitable for you or
[32:30]not a couple points before we get into today's discussion the first
[32:33]and most important points that one needs to keep in mind as
[32:37]we get into this discussion as we discuss many of the nuanced
[32:41]and detailed points that we will discuss today is that beyond the
[32:45]shadow of a doubt adopting such Lifestyles where someone is drawn to
[32:50]a person of the same gender and is acting upon this attraction
[32:53]is beyond the shadow of a doubt forbidden in Islam I make
[32:59]this point clear from the very onset and from the very beginning
[33:01]because in today's talk we will discuss a lot of detailed delicate
[33:04]points there's quite a bit of nuanced discussions that we're going to
[33:08]have and in the midst of our discussions I don't want this
[33:13]point to get lost many times you will find when people try
[33:17]to make a nuanced point with regards to this topic sometimes they
[33:20]are later accused that they may not believe that this is something
[33:23]that is forbidden in our faith and so on and so forth
[33:25]therefore the first point that we have to make clear is that
[33:30]from the perspective of our Faith acting upon such desires is considered
[33:34]forbidden if at any point within this talk in the next 45
[33:36]minutes there is a point that you hear and that you assume
[33:42]that the speaker is even implying anything other than this then you
[33:47]have misunderstood the points that we were making this is at the
[33:49]first level at the second level and this is just to be
[33:53]on the cautious side if at any point in this discussion your
[33:56]understanding or your interpretation in some absurd way is that we are
[34:01]asking for you to go above and beyond the laws of where
[34:05]you live whichever country you might live in whichever State you might
[34:09]live in with regards to this issue or any other issue then
[34:11]again you have misunderstood the points that we are making in this
[34:17]talk we are Muslims and as part of our Islamic faith Allah
[34:19]expects us and the rulings of our Maharaja expects from us to
[34:23]abide by the laws wherever whichever country we might be living in
[34:29]this is at the second level at a third level there is
[34:31]also a disclose disclaimer to make that today's content and today's discussion
[34:35]is mainly addressed towards a person who has two main qualifications the
[34:40]first of these qualifications is that is that this person fundamentally looks
[34:45]at this issue or wants to understand the issue from the Islamic
[34:49]perspective meaning that this person either attributes himself to Islam or at
[34:54]least wants to understand how Islam views this issue therefore if there
[34:59]are people out there who are not Muslim or they are not
[35:02]interested in understanding the Islamic take on this issue this talk is
[35:05]not for them it's not addressing them and it would not be
[35:09]relevant to them either that is the first qualification the second qualification
[35:12]is that even if someone is Muslim but for whatever reason from
[35:17]their own perspective have decided not to practice their faith in their
[35:21]day-to-day life they don't wake up every morning with the concern of
[35:26]am I practicing Islam every day in my day-to-day life again today's
[35:30]talk may not be so relevant to them we are approaching this
[35:33]issue from the angle of someone who wants to understand number one
[35:37]what is Islam's take on this issue and furthermore how can I
[35:42]Implement that in my day-to-day life if I don't fall under either
[35:45]of those categories or both of them I should say well then
[35:51]this talk may not be so relevant for this audience having said
[35:53]that let us take a trip down memory lane a little bit
[35:58]when we were younger and we were growing up of course we
[36:00]remember the idea of individuals who were drawn to the same gender
[36:06]now at that time maybe you might have heard the abbreviation of
[36:09]lgbtqia Plus or not that's a separate discussion but growing up sometimes
[36:15]you would see characters in movies and TV shows other places you
[36:18]were exposed to these ideas however somehow someway along the road in
[36:27]the past 10 to 15 years maybe 20 years it seems as
[36:29]though the discussion and the discourse on this topic started to change
[36:33]a little bit in its nature and there were a number of
[36:37]elements within it that started to change it was no longer the
[36:39]same way it used to be when you were younger yes when
[36:43]you were younger sometimes you would come across a character maybe it
[36:46]would create a question in your mind but you would just assume
[36:48]that this is a person who's decided to live his life in
[36:53]a different way than maybe for example your loved ones were living
[36:56]their lives if your loved ones you saw your mother and father
[36:59]in a heterosexual relationship in a relationship where there's a man and
[37:04]a woman involved then you might see some character in some movie
[37:06]or TV show where that is not the case for them however
[37:08]you started to see the discourse and the elements in this discussion
[37:14]started to fundamentally change what were some of the fundamental changes that
[37:20]have happened over the past two or so decades firstly you started
[37:24]to see that these characters that before you started to run into
[37:28]every now and then once in a blue moon all of a
[37:33]sudden the shows the TV shows whatever the case might be there
[37:35]is always a character who's adopted such lifestyles in almost every single
[37:41]show so now wherever you go whatever episode of any show you
[37:46]watch yes whatever it is that you might be streaming the reality
[37:49]is left and right even more so than what the statistics tell
[37:55]us of the number of people who identify as part of these
[37:58]Lifestyles this was the first major difference that you would start to
[38:02]recognize sometimes you might be watching a movie Sometimes I might be
[38:05]watching a TV show and the theme and the plot doesn't even
[38:11]necessarily coincide with these types of relationships yet you would find a
[38:16]character in there much more so today compared to before who abides
[38:20]and adopted such a lifestyle this is one switch and change that
[38:26]you found the level of representation in media of course has double
[38:29]tripled and if you run the numbers the numbers will probably be
[38:32]a lot higher than that in fact this was one main difference
[38:37]of elements in this discourse the second one that you also found
[38:40]was back in the day when we were younger the idea was
[38:45]revolving around the basic human rights of someone who adopts this lifestyle
[38:50]individuals who adopted this lifestyle they were more vulnerable as the statistics
[38:55]tell us sometimes in school sometimes as adults and therefore the discourse
[39:00]was around the idea that the basic human rights of this person
[39:03]should be respected if this person is growing up in school they
[39:06]should not be harassed they should not be bullied they should be
[39:10]respected for whatever lifestyle they choose in their private life this somehow
[39:16]evolved over time and turned into a discussion of not only respecting
[39:21]basic human rights rather celebration promotion and showing that you are in
[39:27]love with this lifestyle someone came to you and shared with you
[39:29]that this is the lifestyle that they have adopted in their lives
[39:34]if you were anything less than a hundred and ten percent delighted
[39:38]now all of a sudden this is an issue this was another
[39:43]thing that changed from the time when we were growing up a
[39:45]third point of this discussion that also changed is back in in
[39:49]the day this used to be a private matter if you didn't
[39:53]agree with the perspective that was you know premanent within Society or
[39:58]prominence within society and prevalence you weren't necessarily a bad person you
[40:03]were just a person who disagrees on this matter at the end
[40:06]of the day your opinion didn't matter so much because this person
[40:10]was practicing things in their own personal life they weren't trying to
[40:13]get into your business you weren't trying to get into their business
[40:16]it was a simple Private Matter personal matter if you like it
[40:20]or you don't like it your opinion carried no weight or any
[40:25]value fast forward to a couple decades later all of a sudden
[40:28]if you don't agree with this and you're not delighted and you're
[40:31]not celebrating and you're not promoting this now all of a sudden
[40:38]you are given the titles and tags of being hateful of being
[40:41]a person who is angry and frustrated and responding with such emotions
[40:46]this wasn't the case when we were growing the fourth of these
[40:50]discussions that change the discourse that changed is that when you were
[40:53]growing up this was a matter that was discussed by the adults
[40:58]in society adults would come together because it's a discussion that naturally
[41:04]involves at some level an intellectual maturity to even understand some of
[41:09]these issues and beyond that a certain level of sexual maturity because
[41:12]this is what the discussion is really about you would find adults
[41:17]discussing this issue that was how things were done it wasn't necessarily
[41:21]a matter of getting anyone else involved fast forward a couple decades
[41:26]all of a sudden a child is expected to not only get
[41:31]involved in such discussions but to make the biggest decisions of their
[41:34]lives in the early years of childhood this was not the case
[41:37]when we were growing up this was a discussion and essentially should
[41:42]be a discussion that adults might engage in someone might agree with
[41:46]it someone might disagree with it again your opinion and my opinion
[41:49]doesn't matter much in the private life of another person everyone gets
[41:53]to live life however they like but that is no longer the
[41:56]situation today the situation today is that children are brought into the
[41:59]discussion and children are exposed to such ideas and children are expected
[42:04]though they have a Simplicity to their minds and an innocence to
[42:11]their minds they are expected to make decisions and Give opinions on
[42:14]these issues that were require intellectual and sexual and physical maturity and
[42:20]the last elements that changed and within the last two decades was
[42:25]the way you found before advocates for this cause were individuals who
[42:29]cared for a person who adopted this lifestyle for the basic rights
[42:33]of a person who adopted this lifestyle and today you see it's
[42:39]no longer a matter of individuals some of the greatest corporations that
[42:43]you come across are now heavily invested and involved in the promotion
[42:48]and celebration this was also something you weren't used to 10 15
[42:52]20 years ago now beyond all of this one might ask why
[42:57]are we taking time on the 8th or seventh ninth of Muharram
[42:59]to discuss a topic like this one might say this is not
[43:02]something that involves us this is something to be discussed at another
[43:05]time brothers and sisters though you could have said that 10 15
[43:10]years ago today you can no longer say that that is not
[43:12]the reality of the matter today today the real reality of the
[43:17]matter is that this is an issue that involves our communities in
[43:20]a multitude of different ways whether it is the children we are
[43:22]talking about whether it's not even necessarily children and from the angle
[43:26]of a parent but simply from the angle of a person who
[43:31]has this question in his or her mind that how is it
[43:35]and why is it that Islam does not approve of such a
[43:37]lifestyle when this person who is engaging in such behavior is not
[43:42]necessarily hurting anyone is not necessarily being a bad citizen in society
[43:47]these are fundamental questions that a lot of our younger generation will
[43:51]pose and without answering them the questions will not remain here they
[43:58]will go further to asking themselves is Islam truly the faith that
[44:02]can answer my needs in the 21st century today inshallah therefore will
[44:06]take some time to delve into this topic by posing the following
[44:10]questions number one did the Elizabeth simply reject idea videos that they
[44:15]found in society or did they take the time to shed the
[44:20]light and remove any confusion with regards to those issues before taking
[44:24]a stance number two what did Imam al-hussein say on the 10th
[44:30]of Muharram to make sure that everyone who had come to the
[44:33]battlefield knew exactly what they were doing and exactly who they were
[44:37]going up against before he went to the tents and prepared to
[44:42]defend himself and his family number three what do the statistics tell
[44:45]us about how the Muslim Community as a whole has responded to
[44:50]these changing sexual Norms in Society number four what are the four
[44:54]approaches that we found within the Muslim Community and which one of
[45:01]them is closer to the Islamic approach when it comes to this
[45:04]issue number five what was the problem with the people of loots
[45:07]was the problem that the Quran had with them the lack of
[45:12]consents that they have in such relationships or was the problems something
[45:15]else and how do we attribute such a thing to the verses
[45:20]of the Quran and number six and finally what should one do
[45:24]if somebody or someone you might know is struggling with attractions of
[45:29]this sort tonight inshallah we'll delve into these six questions Muhammad allow
[45:43]us to begin from here brothers and sisters when you look in
[45:47]the seera of the you don't find them to be individuals who
[45:50]simply rejected ideas left and right before first taking the time to
[45:55]clarify what the issue was And to clarify what their stance was
[46:01]with regards to that issue some of us have this understanding that
[46:03]when you have the truth with you if you are a prophet
[46:09]or an Imam because naturally whatever you do or decide is the
[46:12]right decision you're my assume at this point our understanding of the
[46:17]bait was that these were individuals who wouldn't take time necessarily to
[46:20]explain to society why they have the stances that they have rather
[46:25]they would look at a group of people and dismiss them rather
[46:27]they would look at a certain idea and reject it and that's
[46:31]it and they would move on we are the prophets and we
[46:34]are the imams deal with it this is the ruling you deal
[46:37]with it and as we will discuss you will find many Muslims
[46:39]today also take the same approach with regards to this issue as
[46:44]well as a lot of other issues as well instead of framing
[46:47]the Islamic response within its proper context they will take one or
[46:53]two pieces of Islamic knowledge that are true by the way but
[46:55]they will only stick to one or two of those pieces of
[46:57]knowledge you don't find this in the Sierra of our beloved prophets
[47:04]even when the prophet had this moment that was Sim similar to
[47:06]a duel you can say even that we refer to as muba
[47:10]Allah where this side was going to pray against that side that
[47:12]side was going to pray against this side many of us are
[47:17]not aware that this is not how this interaction began with the
[47:20]Christians of najran when the Christians of najaran came to the prophet
[47:24]it was not the prophet's first move to say okay you stand
[47:27]on that side I'm going to stand on this side let's pray
[47:29]against each other and see what happens this was not the first
[47:34]approach of the prophet in fact when they entered into the Masjid
[47:36]of the Prophet The Prophet allowed them to pray based on their
[47:39]own religion they didn't know they didn't ask for permission maybe it
[47:43]wasn't the best thing to do the prophet told his companions to
[47:47]be patient with them after they were done the prophet engaged in
[47:50]conversation with them the prophet had arguments to make he had points
[47:54]to clarify when he turned to them and he said you all
[47:58]need to follow Islam they said no we already follow the faith
[48:00]that God wants us to follow the prophet responded to them and
[48:05]he said how can you believe that Jesus is the son of
[48:09]God and he is God at the same time and he is
[48:10]divine at the same time and the conversation continued the prophet said
[48:15]isn't it true that a father and a son should have some
[48:20]similarities in their Essence and then in their nature they said of
[48:23]course he said okay well is it the case that the god
[48:27]that we know of used to eat and drink please foreign [Music]
[48:34]does your God eat and drink they said no he said that
[48:38]Jesus used to eat and drink they said yes does your God
[48:43]end up in a womb no was Jesus at one point in
[48:47]a womb no and the conversation continued yes after it came to
[48:51]a point where they were told that things are different another salallah
[48:55]please thank you when the discussion reached a point where the Prophet
[49:05]knew that these people are simply trying to move away from the
[49:07]truth at this point the prophet turned towards them and the idea
[49:13]of Mubarak came into the picture similarly you find Imam al-hussein on
[49:17]the 10th of Muharram he didn't go and um you know in
[49:21]the first moment start to prepare his sword and get ready for
[49:24]battle the first approach that the Imam took on multiple occasions not
[49:27]just incredible on his way to karbala as well was to clarify
[49:32]for the people who were standing in front of him of who
[49:34]he is and he has a longer on that day but at
[49:38]one point he comes to this point he says listen if you
[49:42]don't believe anything about me and anything that I say there's just
[49:46]one thing that you cannot deny Allah am I not the son
[49:50]of the daughter of your Prophet is it not true that the
[49:55]prophet told you to be considerate of his family this one you
[49:57]can't deny maybe you can say Hussein has gone and done this
[50:01]and gone and done that but at the end of the day
[50:02]the prophet ordered to be considerate of his family at the very
[50:06]least they said we understand but we will insist and when it
[50:12]came to this point then the Imam recited a verse quoting the
[50:15]verses of the Quran that now I have made things clear between
[50:18]you and I now whatever you decide that is on you and
[50:21]that is your decision therefore this is the seera of the let
[50:27]us get into the particular topic that we are discussing this is
[50:31]extremely important because when you look at the polls that have been
[50:34]done over the years you only find that as the years go
[50:39]by the Muslim response and Muslim acceptance of such Lifestyles only starts
[50:44]to increase in numbers now when someone says I am accepting of
[50:50]such a lifestyle does this mean that I am only accepting of
[50:52]it on a social level if someone else is doing it it
[50:56]doesn't bother me or does it mean that this person is accepting
[50:59]of this in terms of his or her own faith this is
[51:03]something that might be difficult to tell based off of these polls
[51:06]because the polls are usually simple questions yes no questions and that's
[51:10]it nonetheless one thing is for sure that the general acceptance towards
[51:13]this even within the Muslim Community is growing there is no doubt
[51:17]about this when you look amongst the Muslim Community you find there
[51:23]are three main approaches to this issue that we need to study
[51:26]and then a fourth approach that seems to be closer to what
[51:28]Islam actually expects from us the first of these approaches is an
[51:36]approach of complete denial what are we even talking about it's not
[51:40]even an issue no it's affecting our community no no what do
[51:47]you mean Sheikh this stuff is for the people they are sinners
[51:50]the ones who have nothing to do with us the one who
[51:53]he has taken a different path in his life he's not part
[51:55]of us he's this he's that this is for them Muslims don't
[52:00]deal with these issues this is the first path and growing up
[52:06]there might have been individuals organizations whatever the case have might have
[52:11]been who sometimes even with good intentions might have taken this approach
[52:14]but in the world that we live in today this approach is
[52:17]nearly impossible still you will find organizations who will act as if
[52:24]these issues are not issues for the Youth of today and they
[52:26]will act like these issues are not affecting our community and they
[52:30]will act like these questions are not pressing questions Sheikh just ignore
[52:33]it and in a couple years you know it'll all be gone
[52:37]and pass and no this is not the world that we live
[52:40]in anymore the first approach is the approach of denial this is
[52:42]that same person that if you come to him and you say
[52:46]well I'm dealing with depression this person will tell you depression is
[52:49]for someone who is ungrateful in his life someone whose spirituality is
[52:52]weak and so on and so forth you're not like that don't
[52:57]talk about this stuff move on this approach of denial brothers and
[53:00]sisters doesn't work for us now whether it's right or wrong either
[53:04]way it doesn't work in today's world this is the first approach
[53:07]I will move a little bit faster because if we are discussing
[53:10]this topic naturally we're not taking this approach to begin with the
[53:16]second approach that you will find is an approach of complete acceptance
[53:22]meaning when this issue is brought up this person looks at himself
[53:28]looks at the religion of Islam looks at sometimes and we're going
[53:31]to get into this what is it why is it that someone
[53:34]would feel compelled to be accepting of such lifestyles in this Faith
[53:38]we're going to talk about that momentarily this person looks at himself
[53:41]looks at the religion of Islam looks at the difficulty that this
[53:44]person is going through experiencing such attractions which I will touch on
[53:49]and says well what's the problem allow us to be accepting of
[53:56]this wouldn't that solve everything wouldn't that makes life just so much
[54:01]easier and in some ways in a temporary sense of the word
[54:03]it will because essentially you're erasing the whole problem so of course
[54:08]yes it's the easier routes and when it comes to acceptance brothers
[54:12]and sisters towards this issue though Islam doesn't allow for this when
[54:17]you look at the verses of the Quran the verses of the
[54:19]Quran are quite clear about this issue if this was an issue
[54:22]where the Quran was a bit vague on it then we could
[54:26]have made such claims or someone could have made such claims but
[54:28]that's not the case with the verses of the Quran sometimes people
[54:32]see a per another Muslim being accepting towards this ideology immediately they
[54:38]start to attack that individual how dare you this is evil haven't
[54:46]you heard of the story of loots okay but did you sit
[54:49]down to ask this person why they came to this conclusion what
[54:52]was their thought process why did they assume that this should be
[54:58]allowed in our faith this is important we have to engage in
[55:01]dialogue and many times when people don't engage in dialogue it is
[55:05]because of an insecurity of knowing that if they were to engage
[55:11]in dialogue there might be questions that might be brought up that
[55:13]they don't have the answers to so the easier response is what
[55:17]the story of Newt that's it don't talk to me this is
[55:21]easier than to engage in dialogue no this person who is accepting
[55:28]towards this lifestyle at least a Muslim is not necessarily a bad
[55:31]person an evil sometimes it has other reasons I will mention two
[55:34]of them it may not always be these two it might be
[55:37]some other things but at least two of them and I know
[55:40]this because I've engaged in conversation with individuals who used to believe
[55:42]such a thing the first of these reasons is that this person
[55:47]fundamentally believes that your religiosity and your spirituality has nothing to do
[55:53]with what you decide to do in your own home does that
[55:57]ring a bell from the topic we discuss on Islamic spirituality and
[56:01]modern spirituality this person's definition of spirituality is how you treat people
[56:07]what kind of a citizen you are to people how kind you
[56:10]are to them the acts of kindness you do in society and
[56:12]these are all by the way part of Islam there's no doubt
[56:16]about it except we mentioned in that talk that this is not
[56:20]the only thing that Islam preaches Islam is also looking for submission
[56:25]so this person's approach is listen if this person decides to be
[56:30]a part of this type of relationship or heterosexual relationship it's not
[56:35]going to change fundamentally how they act within Society so now in
[56:39]the private rooms of their home and so on whatever they do
[56:44]what does that have to do with religion what does it have
[56:46]to do with God they're not being unfair to anybody they're not
[56:53]hurting anybody they're not being unkind to anybody this is the thought
[56:58]process except again this doesn't mesh with what Islam teaches us because
[57:03]Islam never said that your spirituality and religiosity is only about how
[57:08]you do things within the greater Society no Islam says when you
[57:13]go home you have to pray When you pray what impact does
[57:19]it have on society maybe no impact at all but Islam says
[57:22]if you don't pray you are close to kufra as many narrations
[57:27]say the one who's fundamental doesn't pray not the one who might
[57:29]miss every now and then but the one who fundamentally fundamental multiple
[57:33]narrations talk about we'll talk more about this on the tenth night
[57:36]okay so what impact am I having on society if I don't
[57:40]pray maybe no impact at all but that's not how religion Works
[57:42]religion is looking for submission and is working on that ego of
[57:47]yours that you have whether you're in society or you're in your
[57:50]home but however this person's understanding is what well this person's not
[57:58]hurting anyone and in some ways maybe that's true maybe it's not
[58:01]that's a longer discussion okay so this is number one but it
[58:04]doesn't match with what Islam teaches this is number one a second
[58:09]reason why sometimes people are accepting towards these Lifestyles is coming from
[58:13]a place of sympathy it's actually a very innocent approach it's not
[58:19]necessarily always evil agenda this so on and so forth what I'm
[58:23]talking about right now is not this Corporation or that Corporation it's
[58:25]not what we're talking about we're talking about community members right now
[58:28]brothers and sisters this person looks at a friend who is struggling
[58:35]with such attractions okay but they see this person's life is difficult
[58:39]of course it's difficult we're going to talk about it how difficult
[58:44]it is and in order to make sense of this in their
[58:46]own mind and in order to be able to find a solution
[58:50]to this problem what will they do they will say you know
[58:55]what actually I don't think God would put someone through the difficulty
[58:58]that this person is going through hence it must be the case
[59:01]that Islam The God Who is the most merciful shouldn't have a
[59:05]problem with this look at the difficulties creating for him because this
[59:09]is forbidden in our religion coming a lot of times from a
[59:14]place of sympathy but Islam also doesn't agree with this form of
[59:19]sympathy because as we will discuss there are two forms of sympathy
[59:22]or empathy I should say there's that form of empathy where you
[59:27]erase the problem altogether there's a place of empathy where you don't
[59:33]erase the problem but you understand the struggle of the person that
[59:36]you are dealing with the latter is what Islam really emphasizes the
[59:40]former Islam does not necessarily agree with and we will talk about
[59:45]this more this is the second approach that you will find the
[59:47]third approach that you will find is the approach of an individual
[59:52]who essentially objects to these Lifestyles but does it in such a
[59:57]harsh rude disrespectful way that he doesn't even take the time to
[60:01]understand the difficulty of this Community member who is experiencing such attractions
[60:08]harsh objection so when you talk to this guy the whole discussion
[60:12]is a minute and a half he says listen haven't you heard
[60:14]about the story of prophet loot yeah I heard about the prophet
[60:18]the story of prophet that's it it's Haram you're going to burn
[60:20]in hell don't talk to me harsh objection did this person put
[60:30]things into the proper Islamic framework no this is not the proper
[60:34]Islamic framework with regards to so you might say well what is
[60:36]it that Islam therefore out of these four different approach approaches or
[60:41]three approaches is expecting of you and I when it comes to
[60:47]Islam brothers and sisters there are two main elements to the Islamic
[60:50]approach as far as I understand this topic this is just my
[60:52]humble opinion the first of those is yes the elements of non-acceptance
[61:01]there's no doubt that Islam is not accepting of acting upon such
[61:04]desires there's no doubt about it we mentioned this at the beginning
[61:06]of the talk as well when you look at the verses of
[61:10]the Quran they are very clear on this there have been attempts
[61:12]whether you're talking about Islam or even other faiths in Christianity there's
[61:16]also been attempts of this sort to look at the stories mentioned
[61:19]in the Quran and in the Bible and to interpret them in
[61:25]a different sense to denote that the problem that Prophet loot had
[61:28]with his people was not the issue of acting upon this attraction
[61:31]between the same gender the problem was a lack of consent in
[61:39]these relationships this attempt has been made many times to interpret the
[61:42]verses of the Quran in this way to interpret even the Bible
[61:45]in this way now with the Bible it's slightly different with the
[61:48]Quran when you look at the verses of the Quran the Quran
[61:50]has said the wording in such a way the wording of the
[61:55]Quran cannot even be interpreted in this way why because in multiple
[62:00]surahs of the Quran what does he tell people he says do
[62:06]you guys approach men and not women if the problem was consents
[62:13]would he be pointing out the men and not the women so
[62:17]now Islam is saying or this prophet of God is saying approaching
[62:22]women without consent is okay it's only a problem when you approach
[62:25]a male this is a mesh with any principle of the Quran
[62:28]so then the problem was not the consents this is the first
[62:33]point to remember there are those who will come back to you
[62:35]and say well I want to make a point clear to you
[62:38]there have always been people who have struggled with this attraction absolutely
[62:41]there's no doubt about it the same way there's always been people
[62:45]who have who have struggled with an attraction to consuming alcohol for
[62:49]example to being interacting with the opposite gender outside of a marriage
[62:53]for example and the list goes on and on in fact the
[62:59]very fact that the Quran says this deed is forbidden doesn't that
[63:02]mean that this is something that some people engage in does the
[63:09]Quran ever sit there and say listen when you go to Pluto
[63:12]don't eat of a of the plants or the dirt that you
[63:14]find there no because you're never going to end up in Pluto
[63:18]when the Quran says this is forbidden what does that mean that
[63:23]means you're going to come across this this is a thing otherwise
[63:26]what's the purposes of forbidding it does the Quran ever say when
[63:32]you run into that alien it's wajib for you to say salaam
[63:35]to him no because you're never going to run into the alien
[63:39]or would we we don't know the reality is the Quran has
[63:44]made this forbidden that means yes there's always been this throughout history
[63:49]there's no doubt about that okay moving on the next question that
[63:52]comes to mind when you say Islam is not accepting towards this
[63:56]is that this person will say but how can Islam fundamentally go
[64:00]against the foundational identity of this person this person wants to be
[64:05]authentic in terms of who they are these are the feelings and
[64:07]emotions that they have how could God expect this person to go
[64:10]against his own identity and Islam will respond to you that this
[64:16]is not his most foundational identity his most foundational identity is servitude
[64:22]to his creator this is not his most foundational identity if I
[64:28]came to Allah said I'm American this is my identity so whatever
[64:34]it implies I'm gonna act on it we talked about this on
[64:38]night one and night two Allah will tell you in some ways
[64:40]you can act on it but if it goes against my religion
[64:43]and your servitude we say no to that similarly someone wants to
[64:49]build an identity around their sexual preference but if it's going to
[64:54]go against their most foundational identity well then Allah is not accepting
[64:58]of this the same way you might have a hundreds of other
[65:00]identities that you're very proud of but the moment they go against
[65:05]the faith Allah says no you can't act on this identity here
[65:08]your ethnicity your family so on and so forth and hence you
[65:14]find something very very interesting in the verses of the Quran that
[65:17]the Quran when it comes to the people of loot never refers
[65:20]to the people of loot as a person who is homosexual who
[65:25]is gay or lesbian or so on and so forth never refers
[65:32]to such individuals in terms of an identity refers to them in
[65:35]terms of the acts that they engage in do you approach me
[65:43]is this something you do not something you are how could the
[65:48]Quran go against this person's identity the Quran doesn't believe this is
[65:52]this person's most foundational identity someone might be hearing this and is
[65:56]not Muslim or doesn't look at the verses of them yes it's
[65:58]not going to make sense to you if you're not looking at
[66:01]it from an Islamic you know angle there's no doubt about that
[66:03]this we're looking at it from an Islamic angle okay this is
[66:10]the non-acceptance that Allah wants from us but then there is a
[66:13]second element and this second one brothers and sisters gets lost when
[66:16]you have someone who is struggling with such a thing you're not
[66:20]only responsible to Allah to explain that acting on these desires is
[66:27]not acceptable in Islam it's considered to be a sin the second
[66:30]responsibility that you have is empathy empathy kindness compassion kindness and compassion
[66:43]the moment you hear say that people say oh so we have
[66:45]to be accepting no who told you that who told you being
[66:50]empathetic and kind and compassionate towards a person who is struggling with
[66:53]something in their life means you accept what they're going through so
[67:00]let me explain a little bit brothers and sisters when you have
[67:04]an individual who's struggling just understand where this person is coming from
[67:07]this is a person who's struggling in a multitude of different ways
[67:12]in life from a young age this person this is normally the
[67:14]experience that you will hear from a young age this person feels
[67:19]different so already it's difficult to fit in as they hit puberty
[67:23]and come to you know an age older than that then all
[67:26]of a sudden things are much more different now isolation becomes a
[67:31]thing then beyond that of course if you're dealing with such things
[67:37]what is the next result of this while your marital situation is
[67:40]potentially going to be impacted by it so that's an added added
[67:46]layer of pressure then the Chit Chats and the sarcasm that people
[67:52]have around about you behind your back is an extra layer of
[68:01]pressure then sometimes you'll see parents disowning their children now I ask
[68:07]you if you approach this person without empathy someone who's already going
[68:11]through all these difficulties all this pressure is already on him is
[68:16]he more likely to stick to his faith and say I'm gonna
[68:18]work my way through this desire of mine or is he more
[68:22]likely to say you know what I'm done with this I don't
[68:26]even belong here I'm out which one is more likely when the
[68:30]Angels Came to Ibrahim who they were on their way to the
[68:35]people of loot they stopped on the way at the house of
[68:36]Ibrahim when things settle down they told Ibrahim they said Ibrahim we're
[68:41]going to the people of loot God's punishment is coming look at
[68:45]the empathy that Ibrahim showed The Compassion that Ibrahim showed Ibrahim for
[68:51]a moment he said maybe the punishment is not for sure yet
[68:55]so what did he do this is the verses of the Quran
[69:00]he immediately said wait a second let's see if we can do
[69:05]something about it can we hold back can we give them more
[69:09]time can we do this that is the empathy that a prophet
[69:10]of God that's why Ibrahim is Ibrahim Ibrahim is not Ibrahim because
[69:13]he sits there and says yeah you're going to burn in hell
[69:16]go I don't want to talk to you that's not Ibrahim Ibrahim
[69:18]is the one he makes the red lines of his faith clear
[69:23]but at the same time he has this empathy that you and
[69:27]I can't even imagine a people who have a living breathing Prophet
[69:31]amongst them loots and they're still disobeying in Ibrahim still comes back
[69:35]and tells the Angels wait a moment is there anything I can
[69:39]do foreign it's a done deal this one it's no more room
[69:45]then he submits to the will of Allah empathy brothers and sisters
[69:53]this is very very crucial okay so if I bring together these
[69:56]two elements it seems to put together the approach that Islam wants
[69:59]from me but here's the thing brothers and sisters this is when
[70:03]you're dealing with someone within your own Community a brother a sister
[70:06]whatever the case who might be struggling with this still identifies as
[70:09]Muslim wants to practice their faith so on and so forth sometimes
[70:12]this is not the case anymore sometimes you're dealing with corporations and
[70:18]sometimes children are involved while Corporation I don't know if you've noticed
[70:24]but a corporation usually understands things through their bottom line that's pretty
[70:29]much the only thing that matters for any Corporation that's what a
[70:32]corporation is for it's there to produce money and fundamentally even more
[70:37]so within a capitalistic Society bottom line corporations don't care about your
[70:42]values corporations also don't necessarily care about your family your children so
[70:47]on and so forth they care about their bottom line you want
[70:50]to speak to a corporation that's how you speak to them that's
[70:53]how you let them know whether you approve of something they're doing
[70:56]or not this is and it's completely within your rights and there's
[71:00]nothing wrong with that sometimes children get involved and this is where
[71:04]sometimes you find parents who are extremely naive so what will this
[71:10]parent say this parent will say Sheikh I understand these things are
[71:12]not allowed we want to keep some distance from these things but
[71:16]here's the thing Sheikh my children are going to be exposed to
[71:21]this stuff anyways they're living in this Society they're going to be
[71:25]exposed to this stuff anyways so now why this headache don't expose
[71:29]them now he's gonna find out about this stuff anyways what this
[71:36]parent is forgetting about is that your child is going through formative
[71:41]years his character is just getting built right now yes your child
[71:47]and you yourself will be exposed to certain things in 20 years
[71:50]that you never imagined was even a thing you'll even you will
[71:55]be exposed to new things as you go on through life but
[71:57]these are formative viewers of this child the world of this child
[72:02]is being built right now you need to safeguard that you need
[72:08]to protect that whatever the law allows you within the boundaries of
[72:11]the law this is your role that's why you're the father that's
[72:14]why you're the mother to protect your children this is the role
[72:20]that Allah has put on your shoulder and on our shoulder and
[72:24]I want to go a step further here brothers and sisters here's
[72:27]the reality of the matter a lot of times parents who are
[72:29]even concerned about these issues and want to safeguard their children take
[72:34]the most temporary approach that you can possibly take the most short-term
[72:41]approach that you can possibly take oh as long as this book
[72:48]is not there as long as you know this tv here's the
[72:50]thing brothers and sisters as long as we are putting the education
[72:56]of our children in the hands of anybody else who sometimes might
[73:03]even mean well but doesn't have the values that you and I
[73:06]have as long as this is the case this is the situation
[73:12]we're dealing with your parents you're concerned here's what you need to
[73:16]do you need to take control of the education of your child
[73:21]I promise you come to any parents any parents and tell them
[73:24]listen 10 minutes a day why don't you bring your children and
[73:26]have them sit with the stranger the stranger is going to have
[73:30]a conversation with them tell me any parent who would do that
[73:33]they'll immediately say no what do you mean of course not it's
[73:38]a stranger but then they'll hand them this device strangers will have
[73:44]conversations with their child eight hours a day and at the end
[73:48]the parent will walk away and say but his knees aren't bruised
[73:52]and he doesn't have any scars on him he must be fine
[73:55]no this is your role to safeguard your children wherever we are
[74:02]brothers and sisters in our communities in terms of education and educational
[74:06]services that we offer we have to take it up to the
[74:11]next Notch as long as you are Outsourcing this to someone who
[74:13]doesn't look at things the way you're looking at things of course
[74:15]that person is going to do it to do it this is
[74:19]how it is today it's tomorrow it's going to be liberalism the
[74:24]next day it's going to be feminism the next day it's going
[74:26]to be atheism the next day it's going to be gender rules
[74:28]the next day is going to be this the next day is
[74:30]going to be that you're handing off your children to somebody else
[74:33]why there are communities still when they invite speakers they're not worried
[74:40]about which topics what issues what are those issues we have to
[74:44]how can I educate our younger generation well this needs to change
[74:46]there are some communities they have weekend Islamic schools except it's such
[74:51]poor quality the kid walks away hating Islam more than loving Islam
[74:56]this needs to be elevated there are some communities they're in better
[75:00]shape than this they have summer camps they have Retreats we need
[75:03]more of that wherever you are on that scale of providing educational
[75:08]services to your community that needs to go up a notch there
[75:13]are some communities that easily have the ability to have their own
[75:16]high quality Islamic schools high quality but that's not a priority well
[75:22]if it's not a priority brothers and sisters then know that as
[75:26]parents we are handing off our children things are being taught to
[75:29]them today might be this issue people think this is the issue
[75:32]listen Society has always been diverging away from faith when was the
[75:38]last time you spoke to someone from the elders and they said
[75:40]yes masha'allah Society is so much better today Society is always heading
[75:47]its own Direction this is your responsibility to take control of the
[75:51]education of your children to be involved in the education of your
[75:55]children to know what's happening to see if I can put him
[75:59]in a much better atmosphere than having to put him in an
[76:02]atmosphere where he's taught the wrong thing 24 7 except this one
[76:05]book is not available to him this is not bad this is
[76:11]good but a lot more is needed for us is what I'm
[76:12]trying to say yes a lot more we need to take a
[76:16]much more long-term approach to this issue otherwise these issues brothers and
[76:19]sisters will always pop up this is not the first time didn't
[76:24]we have issues with our kids in schools before this issue came
[76:29]up wasn't sex ed always an issue of my child being exposed
[76:32]to a heterosexual relationship but at a young age isn't that an
[76:35]issue in Islam as well these are things that will always be
[76:38]there because Society is headed in a different direction you're sitting here
[76:41]and saying I have a prophet in the word of God and
[76:44]he told me to live my life a completely different way of
[76:47]course these two are going to be different from one another now
[76:50]someone might say well what am I supposed to do if I
[76:53]am in a situation or I know a friend who might be
[76:56]in a situation who is struggling with such attractions and with this
[77:00]inshallah we'll wrap up number one first and foremost understand that you
[77:03]are to look for resources from other peers who have had experiences
[77:09]of this sort who can guide you through this path of maneuvering
[77:13]such desires one podcast I want to introduce is a podcast called
[77:17]A Way Beyond the rainbow something to look into as a resource
[77:20]that itself consists many other resources as well number one number two
[77:28]understand this does not mean in any shape or way that God
[77:30]hates you dislikes you this is punishment for something you did when
[77:34]you were five years old where you couldn't even sin even if
[77:38]you wanted to this is not a punishment from God this is
[77:40]a test from Allah that's number two number three understand that the
[77:45]reward of Allah is greater when the test that he has put
[77:48]in your life is greater than the tests of others number four
[77:54]understand the Forgiveness of Allah is greater when you fall short at
[78:01]a test that is much much greater than the test of other
[78:04]individuals Allah might turn to me and tell me to wake up
[78:08]for Fajr I might struggle to do so I might fall short
[78:09]sometimes and yes we say the mercy of Allah is there for
[78:14]this person this is what we say okay now this test has
[78:16]been placed in the life of this person it's fundamentally changing his
[78:21]whole future you're saying God's Mercy is not there as long as
[78:26]this person is trying to hold back try that you can do
[78:31]you might say well the the emotions the feelings they're not voluntary
[78:34]okay but acting on them at least you can try I might
[78:39]fall short well guess what we fall short on a lot of
[78:40]different things and the mercy of Allah is there to catch us
[78:46]when we fall short this is number four number five and final
[78:49]point if the emotions are not voluntary and even if acting on
[78:54]them sometimes we might say we might fall short so on and
[78:56]so forth but the one thing that is definitely voluntary and that
[79:02]Allah expects us to refrain from is being open and public and
[79:07]promoting such a lifestyle this one's voluntary and sometimes in narrations you
[79:16]read when someone just because they weren't public about something they were
[79:22]that much closer to the mercy of Allah in fact when you
[79:25]look in the verses of the Quran this story of loots that
[79:29]we talk about all the time yes the story of Luke this
[79:30]happened that happened all of the story that we talk about there
[79:34]is one important detail that almost everyone misses when it comes to
[79:37]the story of loot the punishment that Allah sent on the people
[79:40]of loot in that particular way that the Quran talks about was
[79:44]it just because they engage in the sin or was there an
[79:49]added Factor there was an added Factor they engage in that sin
[79:54]and then loot complains of his people he says you all engage
[80:01]in the Sin publicly let me have at least that much submission
[80:08]that if I'm struggling with something like this it's between me and
[80:13]Allah the one who gives respect to the red lines of Allah
[80:22]God is going to look out for that person this is voluntary
[80:28]at the very least I can do this and we ask Allah
[80:32]that on this issue as well as other issues that he grants
[80:35]us as a community the knowledge and the intelligence to know how
[80:38]we are supposed to react in response at the first level and
[80:43]beyond that to help us be able to do so on a
[80:47]practical level with that inshallah we'll bring tonight's talk to and and
[80:50]let us take a moment to recite suratul Fatiha for all of
[80:53]our man with Allah thank you foreign will be this Thursday uh
[81:37]6 30 p.m in this Hall regarding the Taha Foundation Community Center

[81:56]needed you can either donate to the name through the donation boxes

[82:08]on Friday 8 P.M there will be no lecture during them like
[82:13]this so the last lecture for chefs majidi will be on the
[82:18]10th night all right foreign would they commemorate did they not see
[82:43]that young man who was closest out of all his Beauty and
[82:47]manners that when the family would miss the prophet his face they
[82:54]would look did they not see him when their swords were drawn
[82:58]and his name he reminds me to love the words that make
[83:12]a father proud affirming his message bravely are we not on the
[83:20]right path then difficulties not wondrous it's that there is for this
[83:26]religion Let It Be the stance that he gives us all we
[83:33]need to be followers of Truth and enemies of the devil with
[83:36]one Triumph after another all we possess indeed Islam all we possess
[83:45]indeed that the treasury let us welcome Muhammad oh God Lord foreign
[85:02][Music] [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] and upon yourself killed with you incredible
[86:24]together a stranger foreign [Music] [Music] [Music] his life he gave Luft
[87:14]his dad so soon [Music] his hand he waved then took his
[87:28]spear and into battle sailed without any fear then soon he fell
[87:43]and Hussein rushed near he saw his son torn by sword and
[87:52]Spear and a smile then came a tea from right before he
[88:02]died the father who said I'm with them here family [Music] gone
[88:31]so soon I was saying sudden Incredibles [Music] my son where have
[88:48]you gone in the words attributed he says Akbar peace be upon
[89:13]you o first of Martyrs from the most blessed of progeny one
[89:22]of the hashimi Yin who was with Imam Hussain was his Brave
[89:30]son Akbar who was near his twenties beloved to Imam Hussain and
[89:38]he resembled rasulullah and his features in the Imam would often say
[89:44]if we long to look at the face of rasulullah we would
[89:49]look at the face of Akbar and Ali was a young faithful
[89:57]Brave strong man who was always in the service of his father
[90:01]and his mother and his parents and though young Ali was full
[90:09]of wisdom and knowledge and he knew where righteousness was he knew
[90:13]what was Hulk and what was bottled and he was learned and
[90:20]wise enough to know what his responsibility was and a narration says
[90:27]that as the Caravan of Imam Hussain alaihissalam was making its way
[90:32]in the desert towards kufa Imam Hussain alaihissalam fell asleep while sitting
[90:39]on his horse for a brief moment and then he wakes up
[90:46]and he says alhamdulillah Allah hears him he says father why are
[90:57]you reciting this this beer because it was kind of like a
[91:03]startled moment and Imam Hussain alaihissalam says when I closed my eyes
[91:08]I saw a writer saying I saw a writer chanting the Caravan
[91:20]travels and their death travels behind them his father he said may
[91:27]Allah Shield you from all harm are we not with Huck are
[91:31]we not with truth and Imam Hussain said indeed we are and
[91:36]Ali said then we are indifferent whether death falls upon us or
[91:43]we fall upon death yes and we go to the tenth of
[91:51]Muharram thus Hub insisted that they fight before the family the man
[91:54]in the family of Imam Hussein and after the battle began and
[92:01]the companions were killed a silence overcame the camp of Imam Hussain
[92:05]now it was time for bani Hashem a fight it was their
[92:13]turn for mubaraja when that time came the son of Imam Hussain
[92:20]knew what his responsibility was he understood his father's mission and he
[92:26]was not hesitant to do what's right found that befitting that he
[92:34]should be the first fighter from the hashimi Yin to die in
[92:39]defense of his father yes he stepped forward confident strong determined and
[92:49]he approached Imam Hussain and asked his permission and his Blessing to
[92:57]be the first Warrior from bani Hashem to shut his blood in
[93:02]karbala Imagine the scene when Imam saw his son standing in front
[93:10]of him ready for war asking for his permission to enter the
[93:15]battlefield the Imam how did he feel I appealed to the parents
[93:19]and the crowd from the age of infancy parents fall in love
[93:25]with their children and fathers with their sons and they raised them
[93:28]and they care for them and they worry about them and they
[93:33]cannot wait for the moment to see them handsome and grown and
[93:36]strong and independent and they fear from the slightest thing that that
[93:40]might harm their kids and they long for that moment where the
[93:47]young boy becomes a man but this is Imam Hussein looking at
[93:51]his youthful son imagine the feeling and his son is ready to
[93:59]go and fight and the Imam knows this is the final fight
[94:01]the Imam the narration says he could not verbalize his permission instead
[94:09]his eyes became Theory and he raised his hands towards the sky
[94:20]and he said Allah um [Music] Ya Allah bear witness upon these
[94:41]people for a young man has come forward to them a young
[94:44]man who resembles your messenger and his appearance and his morals and
[94:52]in his speech and whenever we long for your messenger we would
[94:57]look at his face heard this from his father he knew that
[95:02]he was given permission before he entered the battlefield he went to
[95:09]his mother and his sisters and his aunt Zain up to put
[95:12]them his final farewell Lord and entered the battlefield as he charged
[95:23]towards the enemies sees his son riding into the battlefield he calls
[95:30]up to um as you are suffering mine the land the sand
[95:48]began to tremble with the forward of Alim and began to crumble
[95:57]a BEAST's day appeared from far away but cheap one Ali arrived
[96:02]and began to Slayer charged the enemies what was he saying [Applause]
[96:14]Jose [Applause] and the Sun [Applause] from the Sun from [Applause] wielding
[96:37]his sword the verse so bravely chanting Praise of his father loudly
[96:49][Music] son of Jose [Applause] hear me roar fear my Fury foreign
[97:08][Music] [Applause] killing many opponents who came to do against them saw
[97:41]his might he sent forward a vicious Warrior named to fight was
[97:50]in between the battlefield and the tents and he's watching his son
[97:57]so when he saw that ranim came to fight the features on
[98:00]his face changed them she notices that the Imam looks worried she
[98:08]says Abba Abdullah has harm come to my son is it the
[98:13]time for sorrow he says no but a fighter has come to
[98:18]him that I'm afraid for him from pray to Allah pray for
[98:23]your son for I have heard that the Dua of a mother
[98:28]is always accepted for her children Layla goes into the town she
[98:32]raises her head her hand [Applause] [Music] foreign [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music]
[99:05]bring him to me my Lord once more more then brace him
[99:15]again before his soul song his mother Akbar was able to defeat
[99:25]bakarib in the battle and then he returned to the camp of
[99:32]Imam Hussain to his father but he was exhausted from The Thirst
[99:36]he says father Jose one is there any drop of water I
[99:43]can drink how must that how must that statement have how did
[99:48]it weigh I'm the heart of Imam Hussein is set up he
[99:52]says father a third is killing me and the weight of the
[99:59]armor is exhausting me is there not a sip of water so
[100:03]I may drink the Imam says what does he say he says
[100:06]yeah Ali I have no water I have no water [Music] for
[100:15]it a bit longer and soon you will meet your grandfather Muhammad
[100:20]who will quench your thirst from his copper after which you will
[100:27]never be thirsty again but before returning to the battlefield the narration
[100:33]say that he went to his mother one last time he found
[100:39]her unconscious so he gently Embraces her and when she felt his
[100:43]presence you must depart that I know got her heart to speak
[101:06]Italian you must depart heard that I know you're handsome face will
[101:15]lose its Glory all over you my ears forever will flow and
[101:27]my heart shall ever be home foreign nothing my grief for you
[101:53]mountains cannot bear but don't hesitate my son though I will defend
[102:04]your father and your life if don't spell entered the battlefield for
[102:19]the second time and continued fighting valiantly but he has now grown
[102:26]to exhausted and one of the enemies notices this and he says
[102:29]I am going to shatter the heart of his mother then he
[102:38]charges towards and he digs his speed foreign [Applause] was stabbed in
[102:49]the back he leaned forward on the horse and his body covered
[102:53]the horse's eyes so the horse trotted towards the enemy's side and
[102:59]they showed no mercy Akbar this Brave Wounded Warrior and set many
[103:07]attacked him from all sides with arrows swords and Spears until he
[103:17]fell to the ground calling alaikum houses [Music] he cleared the enemies
[103:39]how does the Imam find his boy he found him wounded in
[103:51]every part of his body yes a narration says that there was
[103:58]a there was a trace of Life embraced his son he plays
[104:05]this chick over his chicken he says [Applause] are they against Allah
[104:27]and the sanctity of his messenger Allah tears are flowing from his
[104:37]eyes and he continues to say is after your loss what's this
[104:45]life even worth it you're living the calamities of this Dunya and
[104:50]you're leaving your father in these calamities with the final breath he
[104:57]looks at his father's house said and he whispers this is my
[105:03]grandfather Muhammad quenching my thirst with the water that you promised me
[105:16][Music] yeah Hassan I will never be thirsty again and he says
[105:29]hurry hurry for your water awaits you then as the Imam held
[105:32]a son he took his final breath of [Music] to counsel her
