[0:02][Music] thank you assalamu alaikum warahmatullah in the last few weeks there

[0:20]have been a number of different topics that we have discussed or

[0:23]we could discuss topics that no doubt are affecting the Muslim world

[0:26]on a number of important levels what's happening in Iran the Qatar

[0:34]World Cup Balenciaga and many other issues but this Sunday I come

[0:39]to you with a topic that I really never expected to discuss

[0:42]and that is when a Muslim visits one of the houses of

[0:46]God and gets abused online because of it Amir Khan as you

[0:50]all know is one of the most famous boxers to have come

[0:53]out of the UK and a person who has been proud to

[0:56]represent not only the British Community but also the Muslim Community a

[1:02]person who's been charitable philanthropic who's always given time to people on

[1:08]many different levels he's looked to people within his own sport but

[1:12]he's also helped people in his own community and he speaks about

[1:16]this recently in the overlap with Gary Neville but he's visited recently

[1:22]karbala and najaf two of the holiest sites in Islamic history now

[1:26]we know the Muslim world has many holy sides without a doubt

[1:30]Mecca and Medina are the most revered sites in the religion of

[1:37]Islam Mecca Medina one may go to for example other parts of

[1:40]the Muslim World such as Egypt and indeed parts of turkey and

[1:43]you'll see that many of the most important figures in Islamic history

[1:48]are buried there some travel to Syria others have gone to Jordan

[1:52]others go towards Jerusalem and they'll see the number of the prophets

[1:55]of God may have their graves within mosques people go there and

[2:00]they pay their respects Amir Khan has done exactly that with the

[2:06]family of the Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him in najaf you

[2:09]have the Shrine of the son-in-law of the Prophet Muhammad peace be

[2:12]upon him in his family and in karbala you have the shrine

[2:17]of course the grandson of the holy prophet peace be upon him

[2:22]and his family now I know very well that Muslims around the

[2:27]world Revere these true figures every single Muslim in the world claims

[2:31]that they love Imam Ali and that they love Imam al-hussein when

[2:34]they say they love Imam Ali either they may love him or

[2:39]the Shiite theological Viewpoint that he is the first Imam and the

[2:43]first successor rightfully to the holy prophet peace be upon his family

[2:46]or they may see him as the fourth caliph there is hardly

[2:51]any disagreement about him in Islamic history all Muslims Revere Imam al-hassan

[2:57]so when Amir Khan and his wife Ariel decide to go on

[3:02]this journey to karbala and najaf instead of them posting videos where

[3:07]people comment by saying may God accept your Deeds may God accept

[3:14]your prayers please don't forget us in your prayers I am in

[3:18]disbelief at the amount of hate and abuse that they've received for

[3:22]visiting these shrines and I don't want to generalize and say that

[3:29]every non-shia is the one who accepts this belief and nor do

[3:33]I want to say that every non-shia is the one who has

[3:37]sent abuse but if you were to look at some of the

[3:38]comments that have been left on Amir Khan's Instagram and on fariel's

[3:43]Instagram his wife you'll see that some of these comments are quite

[3:49]unbelievable in a world where many Muslims will always say to you

[3:52]that we need Shia's on Unity we should all come together we

[3:55]should put our differences aside I really don't understand how we're gonna

[3:59]put differences aside when we have comments where certain basic principles of

[4:05]the beliefs of the Shia School are seen as being not even

[4:11]part of our history I speak on behalf of course here of

[4:14]the Shia and it brings me back to the point when Jordan

[4:19]Peterson recently said that maybe there should be pen pals between sunnis

[4:23]and Shia and that they should actually start talking to each other

[4:26]many Muslims mocked him because of that but maybe Jordan Peterson had

[4:31]a point because when you look some of these messages you'll also

[4:34]be led to a state of disbelief if I look at some

[4:39]of these messages you'll see let me look at some of them

[4:41]here's a message which is from 17 hours ago a couple of

[4:46]days ago you'll see that it says by the way there are

[4:51]huge differences between Sunni and Shia she I do not believe in

[4:55]the Kalima they don't believe in five times of prayer a day

[4:59]they don't believe in the Holy Quran being the final Revelation to

[5:01]mankind they whip slap themselves and mix men and women together in

[5:05]congregation and measured which is wrong and there's more that I can

[5:09]go on with so let's just educate ourselves a little what Shia

[5:12]are and what they believe in this is something which is unusual

[5:19]and quite mystifying in the year 2022 if this was said for

[5:22]example even a hundred years ago even 300 years ago 500 years

[5:25]ago I'd say okay but when somebody in 2022 still believes that

[5:31]the Shia don't believe in the Kalima of Allah and that we

[5:36]don't believe in praying five times a day and that we don't

[5:39]believe the Holy Quran being the final revelation of God then this

[5:44]is something which I'm sure many can come to our literature and

[5:47]see what our exact beliefs on them are I can certainly tell

[5:50]you that I read the same Quran as you do in many

[5:53]cases published very near to the shrines of Mecca and Medina I

[5:59]do pray five times a day and I certainly believe in the

[6:01]Kalima let's go to another message um over here which is she

[6:07]has are not Muslims they marry their siblings and beat themselves up

[6:11]yeah that's quite bad um for someone in 2022 to actually believe

[6:15]that we marry our siblings in terms of beating ourselves up reality

[6:22]is that yes if you do Google Shia you will see that

[6:24]there are Shia who are involved in certain rituals when it comes

[6:28]to the monster and the Shia are the ones who have their

[6:31]basis for this particular practice you want to discuss this you want

[6:36]to reject it there's no need for you to bring this up

[6:37]to Amir Khan because the last time I checked with emir I

[6:40]mean it was no Theologian but at the same time the last

[6:44]time I checked with Amir he's a man who reveals the family

[6:46]of the prophet and that is something which is not only for

[6:51]the Shia in the Sunni World there are many if not all

[6:53]who admire the holy prophets family yes we may differ in terms

[6:59]of some of our beliefs theologically but why should a person and

[7:03]his wife receive abuse simply because of this then of course you've

[7:06]got the classic it's not permissible to undertake Journeys to visit the

[7:11]graves of the prophets last time I checked people undertake Journeys to

[7:14]go to Medina to visit the holy prophet peace be upon his

[7:17]family not only that they also pay their respect to Abu Bakr

[7:21]who are of course known in Islamic history is the first and

[7:23]second Khalifa what would you say about those people who go there

[7:25]you might turn around to me and say well they don't do

[7:29]the Shirk things that she had do don't generalize the whole Shia

[7:31]community and if you don't believe in the things that the Sheikh

[7:34]I do according to your opinion I'm sure Amir Khan will know

[7:37]that he doesn't need to do those things as well then you

[7:41]see for example example another of the messages you'll see for example

[7:45]messages were literally it comes here when it comes to Islamic Creed

[7:50]us Muslims do care unforgivable brings you out of the fold of

[7:56]Islam maybe if you start reading the Quran and stop tomb worshipers

[8:00]and listening to peers and sayings you know better again you see

[8:03]this major attack on Emir and on farial and the reality is

[8:10]that these attacks just go on and on and on and it

[8:12]brings about even more friction over here the sad thing is someone

[8:19]says to Emir Emir Khan you are one mushrik and Allah never

[8:22]like that you learned everything so sad you never learned what you

[8:25]are a Muslim if you look over here you'll see that people

[8:30]are trying to lower the status of Emir attack him and personally

[8:32]insult him and that's why he had to come out with this

[8:38]particular message the reality is that I know Emir on a personal

[8:40]level and I do not like to see a friend of mine

[8:44]be attacked or insulted in this way if you have a difference

[8:46]of opinion with Emir or indeed with his wife or with his

[8:51]family don't attack him in this personal way and make him feel

[8:54]like he's left the fold of the religion of Islam you may

[8:56]come to me you may differ with my opinions in some of

[9:00]my lectures and reality is that yes we do have certain theological

[9:02]opinions and historical opinions are different and the reality as well is

[9:06]yes that if you believe that I've overstepped the mark and some

[9:10]of my lectures then on the first level I may have to

[9:12]reflect on my rhetoric but at the same time there is a

[9:16]certain group of people who you can speak to amongst the educated

[9:19]class on these issues when I see someone like Emir being attacked

[9:22]in this way I believe it's only right for that we stand

[9:26]up for him not because he's Sunni or he Shia or he

[9:30]wants to convert or doesn't want to convert but simply because here's

[9:33]a person who's come to visit the household of the Prophet Muhammad

[9:36]peace be upon him his family all I can say to you

[9:40]is try one day to come to najaf and calabella maybe some

[9:42]of the misconceptions that you have may be alleviated you might have

[9:47]a change of mind I've been proud to visit the shrine of

[9:49]Imam Al Hussain in Cairo and the shrine of said Karachi as

[9:54]well as the shrines of Companions of the Prophet peace performance family

[9:58]in places like turkey or indeed places like Syria as well as

[10:01]Medina as well as Mecca I have no problem whatsoever in agreeing

[10:07]with some parts of history and differing with others but what I

[10:10]don't like is when we can go on Instagram and attack somebody

[10:13]and do take fear of him in some cases and insult a

[10:18]whole group of people insha Allah we can move forward from this

[10:23]with all of you and insha Allah is a Muslim ummah can

[10:25]agree to disagree on certain parts of History without resorting to violence

[10:29]and without resorting to abuse foreign [Music]
