[1:43]merciful all Praises due to the Lord master of all the worlds
[1:48]and peace and blessings be on All His prophets and especially the
[1:50]final Prophet The Prophet Muhammad s my respected brothers and sisters the
[1:59]sh they all have a different Quran we've heard it for so
[2:06]many years every single accusation has to either begin with OR end
[2:10]with the Shia having a different Quran with different SAS or a
[2:15]belief in Alteration or Distortion of the Quran known as of the
[2:18]Quran many of us have been involved in discussions concerning this in
[2:23]one way or another throughout my life in all these years that
[2:26]I've been doing discussions lectures wherever we may have been there's always
[2:30]this question do you guys have an extra s in the Quran
[2:32]do you believe that the Quran has Parts which are missing and
[2:36]therefore this subject without a doubt is one that requires a thorough
[2:40]analysis through Sunni literature to actually ask the question do non have
[2:45]a different Quran or do non sh believe that the Quran may
[2:49]have been structured in a completely different way to the structure that
[2:54]we see today are there verses of the Quran that are missing

[5:15]they'll say what do you mean quranic Sciences quranic Sciences are those
[5:21]discussions that concern the compilation of the Holy Quran when was it
[5:25]compiled how was it compiled this Quran that we have with us
[5:27]today who compiled this Quran because we know without a doubt it's
[5:36]called the and it was compiled in the time of that there
[5:40]is absolutely no dispute about so I need to understand how did
[5:45]we reach a stage in understanding the development and the evolution of
[5:49]the Holy Quran who was involved in the compilation we know the
[5:53]holy prophet peace be upon M his family in his own lifetime
[5:55]he had these scribes around him renowned in all schools of Islam
[6:01]people like IM people like abdah people like zit people like these
[6:09]people would be around the prophet peace be upon's family and they
[6:13]would have different levels of understanding of the Holy Quran himself goes
[6:17]towards a direction that there were 12 at the time of the
[6:20]Prophet who had memorized the Holy Quran and we know that at
[6:23]that time oral transmission was seen as more prevalent than what we
[6:29]know of today as written transmission the Arabs could memorize poems from
[6:32]now until and therefore they would memorize a lot of their things
[6:35]a lot of their literature so you had people who had memorize
[6:38]the Holy Quran and by the time the holy prophet dies you
[6:43]have these companions who are now wondering how do we look after
[6:47]the Quran of course IM aliam has his codex and s k
[6:52]has written about his codex available online Imam has his codex which
[6:56]gives you the order of the revelation of the Quran as well
[6:59]as the of the Holy Quran as well next to it but
[7:03]the government does not take this one the government finds itself in
[7:08]a predicament in relation to compilation of the Holy Quran we find
[7:13]that the first khif finds himself in a predicament do I gather
[7:17]together or compile that which the prophet did not because the sh
[7:25]theological opinion is that Al compiles the whole Quran in his lifetime
[7:28]and the sh of course normally come with arguments such as I
[7:32]leave behind for you the Quran and my or you have's famous
[7:39]line the Quran is enough for us that's a theological argument of
[7:43]the sh School represented for example by the likes ofy may Allah
[7:47]bless the soul but then you have the historical reading where experts
[7:52]in quranic Sciences like would Point towards the fact that no how
[7:57]we understand the compilation is that it's not necessarily in the time
[8:00]of the Holy Prophet peace be upon his family but rather the
[8:02]compilation as the Muslim said it was compiled Islam with the Prophet
[8:06]The Prophet pieces uh passes away peace be upon him and his
[8:11]family and then after him the first Calif wonders what shall I
[8:14]do especially with companions dying around him and there is a dilemma
[8:16]that he doesn't take the Quran of IM aliam but rather he
[8:23]decides that it would have to be compiled and he wants Zade
[8:26]binit to be the one who compiles this there are OB objections
[8:33]to Zade binit compiling the Quran but eventually with this piece of
[8:38]the Quran that was under the bed of daughter ofar we eventually

[13:34]the narrative has holes in it I agree I shouldn't have used
[13:41]those wordings it's a very painful wording the and even some of

[13:49]to clarify how can anybody accuse another Muslim and I don't like
[14:03]saying this I'm poor a real can of worms was opened up
[14:06]with him when he was discussing with Muhammad hijab about the Quran
[14:11]you'd think of the Sunni world for years it was always a
[14:13]case that you know the Shia have their issues with the Quran
[14:16]but we don't and then all of a sudden hold on a
[14:17]minute is there a possibility that abdullah's understanding of what was in
[14:21]the Quran is different from is's understanding of what's in the Quran
[14:26]different from or could it be that if one was to open
[14:36]up the literature or books on the or indeed of that a
[14:39]person would see that there's a can of worms that are open
[14:43]that says listen this is a complicated issue this is a deep
[14:45]issue this is not for the fainthearted sh and Sh and this
[14:50]is the classic non way when you've got a dilemma you quote
[14:54]whichever scholar suits your argument at that moment you hear sh or

[18:20]prophetic Sunnah translated by Muhammad Mahi Sharif volume to and over here
[18:27]we see the pages 1856 the year 2008 printed in Lebanon translated
[18:35]by Muhammad Mah Sharif English Arabic text volume two we'll come here
[18:42]to Hadith number 1 194 let's start 1943 which is Hadith number
[18:50]1943 let's see this very interesting discussion in Hadith 1943 uh giving
[18:55]suck to the young man okay giving suck to the young man
[18:59]quite interesting title in fact 1943 it is narrated on the authority
[19:06]of that she said who is she talking about over here s
[19:13]the daughter of soel came to the messenger of Allah and said
[19:18]oh messenger of Allah I observe on the face of Abu Hua
[19:24]my husband some traces of disgust because of salm's entering upon me
[19:29]the messenger of Allah sallallah Al said give suck to him so
[19:34]that he would be unlawful for you to marry breastfeed him yep
[19:40]she said oh messenger of Allah how should I give suck to
[19:43]him and he is a young man the messenger of Allah said
[19:49]smiled and said no doubt I know that he is a young
[19:50]man then she gave suck to him and came to the messenger
[19:54]of Allah and said I've no longer seen on the face of
[19:59]abua any traces of disgard he Salim was of those who attended
[20:05]the Battle of uh bad you look at the comment the public
[20:07]of religious Scholars and learned men you have to include now the
[20:09]commentary just because now someone's baffled that there's a young man in
[20:15]this lady's house she gave she breastfed him and her husband's now
[20:18]in a much happier mood than he was before okay so let's

[21:58]when he grows up if not then what's the only way there's

[22:05]says but then was abated became unlawful for him to see her

[23:11]in a document underneath my bed but when the messenger of Allah
[23:17]died we were busy by the Affairs of his death a domestic
[23:20]goat entered and ate it okay so here what do we have
[23:27]we have this verse that was seemingly abated and it's very interesting
[23:32]that there are discussions that emerge from here about the abreg because
[23:37]you have of course when it comes to the world of abrogation
[23:40]sometimes the law is abated sometimes a verse in the Quran is
[23:44]abrogated by another verse in the Quran here AA says that what
[23:51]happened was that the verse is pertaining to stoning the adulterers to
[23:55]death and suckling the young many times were revealed but then they've
[24:03]gone missing I ask you a question is there a verse in
[24:06]the Quran about stoning adulterous to death can you find an Ayah
[24:13]in the Quran about stoning adulterous to death or not is there
[24:16]an ay in the Quran that talks about stoning adulterers to death
[24:20]we always hear that people who talk about Islam they say you
[24:23]guys stoned the adulterers is it in the Quran it's not there
[24:26]now it's interesting that at the end of this Hadith says that
[24:31]a goat came and ated this verse or this particular um document
[24:35]and of course in the Sunni World they will always turn around
[24:39]and say well number one what effect does that have on memorization
[24:42]even if it was done and number two they'll find ways to
[24:46]take the chain back to Malik and to say that Malik clearly
[24:48]proves that this is not acceptable because is on this area you
[24:55]don't take from is is sometimes do when he's narrating a Hadith
[24:58]you know you use them when you feel like it when he's
[25:03]needed he's needed if he's not needed then you say I ask
[25:07]again a question here says the Holy Verse pertaining to what the

[27:58]who commit Zena both men and women if they have been married
[28:01]and if proof is established or there is a pregnancy or a
[28:05]confession by Allah were it not that people would say that Omar
[28:08]had added something to the book of Allah I would have written
[28:14]it down un bathed was there an eye on stoning hold hold

[31:23]after hearing this conversation said to them you have told a lie
[31:26]bring here the torat and recite it of you're truthful so the
[31:31]Jews brought the torat and saw the religious teacher who was teaching
[31:34]it to them put his hand over the verse of of of
[31:38]a and started reading what was written above and below the place
[31:41]with his Hidden Hand but he did not read the verse of
[31:46]Abdullah Salam removed his teacher's hand from the verse of AR and
[31:50]said what is this so when the Jews saw that verse they
[31:51]said this is the verse of a so the prophet ordered that
[31:55]both the adulterer and the adulterous be stoned to death and they
[31:57]were stoned to death near the place where is this Ayah of
[32:02]you're telling me that there was an aah on stoning the adulterer
[32:08]and the adulterous and if I'm not mistaken you'll see that this
[32:12]even baffled certain people certain people were absolutely baffled by this that
[32:17]there's a verse about Raj but it's not there anymore how do
[32:20]we reconcile the fact that this verse on re is mentioned but

[35:06]famous Hadith that the prophet came past and he saw said Omar
[35:09]reading and he said yeah Omar what are you uh reading and
[35:16]said it's the Torah and then he says he says this is
[35:21]the Torah that was given to Moses like in this whole sense
[35:29]um this whole sense of uh kind of awe in this narration
[35:32]that wow and you have to remember the Jewish people were like
[35:38]the academics amongst because the Arabs were emerging from a illiterate Society
[35:44]so to they would be naturally in awe of a academic Community
[35:48]a community of scribes a community of documentation of um a community
[35:54]that registers things that puts things down so he tells the prophet
[35:58]that y this is from Moses you know the book that came
[36:06]to Moses and the prophet says even if Moses was alive he
[36:10]would be following me now the interesting thing here is I'm just
[36:14]saying that this story and some people are saying is it sah
[36:19]or whatever I think this incident whether it's transmitted with those same
[36:22]words or whatever it is in the sah narration but whether they're
[36:25]problematic or not I would feel that that is a valid incident
[36:29]that it actually happened something like that did happen but my understanding
[36:34]would be that when Omar if this be true that he was
[36:37]saying we've read this in the Quran this must have been his
[36:42]recollection of what he read in the Torah and he assumed that
[36:48]was in the Quran because those things to do with stoning were
[36:54]in the Torah so when he said later on at a much
[36:57]later State remember this is probably uh you know we're going over
[37:02]a decade and a half maybe later even something like that towards
[37:06]the end of his life when he's saying that you know oh
[37:10]I remember we read that in the Quran but it's not there
[37:12]that this may have been what he read in the Torah and
[37:19]he assumed like over time and so many incidents that because it
[37:25]was scripture that he may have thought wasn't it the Quran and
[37:29]he assumed it to be the Quran uh that's an an understanding
[37:32]I mean I think generally that's the best plausible understand Muti come
[37:38]on Muti you have very good discussions you mean well you're a
[37:43]man who tries to re examine even some of the opinions but
[37:46]to say that Omar remembered a verse of the Jews and he
[37:50]wasn't sure if it was in the Quran is clearly saying over
