[0:01][Music] [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] for the blessings of the smugglers migrated
[2:09]to madina the first order of business was to build a masjid
[2:16]the first thing did even before reaching madinah he arrived to koba
[2:24]a village outside of madinah the first thing he ordered the muslims
[2:30]to do was to build a masjid the muslims built a mosque
[2:35]he stayed there for a few days and then he goes into
[2:41]madinah and then he builds masjid in nabi in madinah the famous
[2:44]prophet's mosque this was the first time the muslims had the freedom
[2:53]and the opportunity to build a mosque and worship and practice their
[2:58]religion freely for 13 years rasool allah he didn't have the freedom
[3:07]to build the masjid he didn't have the freedom to congregate and
[3:12]pray in jama'a but now he goes to medina he has the
[3:19]freedom to build a masjid and this masjid that rasulullah built it
[3:26]became the focal point of this muslim community it became a place
[3:35]of worship a place of abaddah and devotion and prayer to god
[3:39]it became a community center where the muslims they would gather they
[3:44]would congregate they would socialize they would discuss the current events it
[3:52]became a place of legislation of laws it became a homeless shelter
[4:00]where some of the muslims that did not have a place to
[4:03]sleep they would sleep in the masjid of rasulullah it became a
[4:10]soup kitchen where those who were hungry those who did not have
[4:15]food the muslims they would come and they would feed them they
[4:17]would feed those who did not have food inside the masjid of
[4:22]rasulallah and it also became a venue for gatherings weddings celebrations they
[4:32]would take place in the masjid of rasulullah and this my dear
[4:38]brothers and sisters is an ideal masjid this is how a masjid
[4:41]should be a masjid should be a place that is open 24
[4:47]7 to every single member of the community it should be a
[4:54]place that is used not only once a week friday prayers the
[4:57]masjid doors are open people they go and they pray and then
[5:02]the masjid is locked for one week or only several nights out
[5:07]of the week the masjid is used no the masjid is a
[5:12]place that is supposed to have multi-functions for every single group of
[5:18]the community the young and the old the students non-students the children
[5:23]everyone should feel welcome inside a masjid alhamdulillah my dear brothers and
[5:30]sisters one of the blessings of allah subhanahu wa ta'ala upon us
[5:35]is that we do have mosques in the united states right now
[5:41]in the united states there are over 2769 mosques and this my
[5:49]dear brothers and sisters is a blessing upon us where we have
[5:54]a place to worship where we have a place to congregate where
[5:57]we have a place to bring our children where we have a
[6:03]place to remember the masa above the bait and remember you know
[6:09]there are some countries or there are some cities there are some
[6:12]places where they don't have a masjid you drive for hundreds of
[6:17]miles and there's no masjid they have to rely on the internet
[6:23]they have to rely on listening to lectures you should be thankful
[6:26]that you have a masjid next to you you should be thankful
[6:29]that you have the opportunity to come and listen to the modulus
[6:34]of imam al-hussein and you just drive a few minutes in your
[6:37]car and you arrive to a masjid where you see a muslim
[6:43]community there are some places where if you have a masjid you're
[6:48]looked down upon there are some places some countries in the middle
[6:51]east the shias can't have a masjid the shias oh no no
[6:54]no you can't have a masjid you could call it you could
[6:57]call it whatever you want but you can't call it a masjid
[7:00]right now in china the uyghur muslims they're being discriminated because they're
[7:08]muslims and their mosques are being destroyed right now in france there's
[7:13]a crackdown on the mosques in france and this is a secular
[7:19]country this is a country that claims democracy so my dear brothers
[7:23]and sisters you should be grateful and thankful that you have these
[7:28]mosques that you have mosques that you are able to attend and
[7:31]allah subhanahu wa ta'ala is going to ask you about this this
[7:36]is a blessing this is a blessing that you have god is
[7:40]going to ask you about then about the blessings that you have
[7:50]one of the greatest blessings upon us are our places of worship
[7:57]our masjid my dear brothers and sisters today we see many communities
[8:06]struggling today we see i have one thank you today we see
[8:11]many communities struggling today we see communities struggling with low attendance in
[8:28]the masjid you go to the mosques you go and you see
[8:30]masjids the lights are on the ac is working the imams the
[8:36]sayyids the sheikhs they're there but you only find 20 people in
[8:40]front of you why because people are either busy with their work
[8:46]or they're busy watching a basketball game or they're busy making sure
[8:52]that their life is comfortable or they're not even interested in the
[8:57]masjid and you come and you tell them why they'll bring you
[9:02]20 excuses i have this and i have that and i have
[9:06]this and that family work mortgage business all of these things they'll
[9:09]bring you a million excuses and today also to add to the
[9:15]excuses as if we didn't have enough excuses one of the excuses
[9:19]is covet oh you tell them come to the masjid no no
[9:23]no say it there's kofit how can i go to the masjid
[9:25]when there's kovid when you were dancing in the hall when there
[9:29]was a wedding or when you were going out to the mall
[9:33]you didn't come and say there was kovad but now that they
[9:36]come and they tell you masjid right away you bring up this
[9:38]excuse covet when it comes to attending the masjid there are many
[9:48]reasons and my dear brothers and sisters this is a challenge this
[9:51]is not only a challenge for the speaker this is not only
[9:57]challenge for the organizers of the masjid and the board this is
[10:00]a community problem yesterday we were talking about community issues and how
[10:06]we need to resolve community issues and how we need to put
[10:10]community first before ourselves one of the major issues that the muslim
[10:14]community is dealing with whether it's in this city or in other
[10:18]cities in other states is the low attendance in the mosques you
[10:23]go and you see muslims when you go to the arabic stores
[10:27]you see masha'allah there are so many people there you go to
[10:29]the restaurants you see masha'allah there are so many people there you
[10:34]hear of asbur or akhit or someone has passed away you see
[10:40]masha allah the whole hall is filled with people and then it's
[10:44]for example shahadat imam sadaq or the birth of imam al-baqar or
[10:49]an event we have everyone come out another event you see the
[10:57]people that are attending you could count them with your fingers you
[11:01]could count them with your fingers so what is the solution and
[11:07]what is the problem what is the source of the problem because
[11:11]when it comes to attending the masjid people will come and they'll
[11:13]bring you so many excuses some of these excuses are legitimate and
[11:16]some of these excuses are not legitimate one of the reasons why
[11:23]people don't attend the masjid is because they are not a person
[11:26]who attends the masjid this is the bottom line if they come
[11:30]and they tell them there's a disco they'll come and they'll tell
[11:34]them there's a party going on there's a football match there's a
[11:39]basketball we're sitting for hours talking about you know business and the
[11:42]stock market sign me up but if you come and you tell
[11:47]them there's the aquaman and there's a lecture and there's a program
[11:50]for the kids and program for the adults and this and that
[11:51]they'll say no no i'm not interested some people at the end
[11:56]of the day they don't prioritize religion that's one group of people
[12:00]and we need to put that in the equation one group of
[12:04]people that's it they prioritize their business they prioritize their money they
[12:10]prioritize their family but when it comes to faith it's at the
[12:12]end of the list they'll come to the masjid once they have
[12:16]a problem they'll come and call you say it mawlana sheikh say
[12:19]it please my son has this problem my daughter has this problem
[12:23]now now i want to bring them to the masjid now it's
[12:27]too late my dear brothers and sisters you could have brought them
[12:30]at a young age some people they don't prioritize their religion and
[12:34]this is a problem that's not new this is a problem that
[12:40]was existing during the time of rasulallah rasulullah he would be standing
[12:45]he would be delivering a sermon and then a caravan passes a
[12:49]trade caravan passes and the sahaba of rasulullah the people who saw
[12:55]the prophets and they saw the miracles of rasulullah they would leave
[12:58]rasulallah standing and they would go and they would go and watch
[13:04]the caravan and allah says in the quran and surah jumaah we
[13:07]recite this every friday and allah they see a caravan they leave
[13:25]rasulullah standing all alone so the issue of people leaving mosque for
[13:28]business for money this is an old issue this is an issue
[13:33]now the sustenance comes from god sometimes some people you come and
[13:41]you tell them why don't you come to the masjid i have
[13:44]work i have work we all have work every single every single
[13:49]person brings up this excuse i have work okay did you ever
[13:54]tell your work i have religion as well i have faith i
[13:58]have salat did you ever think of let me tell my work
[14:01]i have prayer to attend why is it that only when it
[14:06]comes to religion we remember work why is it when it's one
[14:10]day out of the week salat's or the programs are typically held
[14:16]at night after work why don't we bring in the excuse of
[14:18]religion to our work my dear brothers and sisters allah the hadith
[14:26]of three will complain to god on the day of judgment three
[14:32]will complain to allah on the day of judgment listen to this
[14:37]one is the quran the quran that we don't read maybe in
[14:43]the month of ramadan we pick up the quran or if there's
[14:47]a ketchup tab we come and we say the mahar as the
[14:51]quran we put it we put it a part of the equation
[14:54]and the second is a scholar amongst ignorant people a scholar who's
[15:03]amongst ignorant people there's a scholar there no one takes advantage of
[15:06]the scholar no one asks questions they come and they talk silly
[15:09]things with the scholar this is also the scholar will complain to
[15:14]god on the day of judgment and third a masjid that is
[15:18]a masjid that is empty a masjid that people don't attend in
[15:23]my dear brothers and sisters our mosques we need to pray every
[15:28]single prayer in our mosque especially if you're a neighbor of the
[15:32]masjid if you have access you need to pray together you know
[15:36]how tawab it is how much tawab it is to pray in
[15:40]jama'ah and congregation and here we have to give credit where credit
[15:44]is due the sunni community they respect the mosques more than the
[15:48]shia community this is a reality i'm a neighbor one of i
[15:53]masjid very close to my house is the sunni mosque you go
[15:57]and you see fajr prayer the prayer asar prayer mega prayer prayer
[16:01]the parking lot is full and then you come and you see
[16:07]our mosques they're empty of course not all mosques not all communities
[16:11]we can't generalize but this is a reality and we need to
[16:15]we need to focus on our masjid we need to give attention
[16:22]to our masjid a blind man he asks rasool allah he tells
[16:26]him i'm blind do i still have to come to the masjid
[16:29]rasul allah tells him yes who said that just because you're blind
[16:33]it doesn't mean you don't go to the masjid he said how
[16:37]do i go to the masjid he tells him hold on to
[16:41]a rope or hold on to a wall and walk to the
[16:44]masjid what does this mean this means that there's no excuse to
[16:47]say i don't need to go to the masjid every single one
[16:51]of us we have to prioritize and we have to take our
[16:53]family and take our children and make the masjid be a place
[16:58]where every single person in the household feels welcomed and belongs this
[17:05]is one group of people the group that they themselves they say
[17:10]i don't want to go to the masjid then you have others
[17:14]who have somewhat legitimate at not going to the masjid sometimes there's
[17:20]an underlying issue which makes some people feel uncomfortable when going to
[17:28]the masjid and this is why we have a duty this is
[17:31]why when you are attending a masjid you have a duty to
[17:36]not only make it a comfortable place for you but you have
[17:38]to make it a comfortable place for the person sitting next to
[17:42]you the person here and there rasool allah he would avoid eating
[17:50]onions why because he has to go salah because he has to
[17:53]sit next to people and he did not want to bother people
[17:57]by the smell of the onion so he would avoid eating onion
[18:02]or garlic why because he doesn't want to bother people some of
[18:06]us when we go to the masjid we're selfish i make a
[18:10]mess and i dirty the place and i make noise and i
[18:12]make it a place that other people are not comfortable in we
[18:17]have a duty this place is not only for me this is
[18:21]a place that belongs to allah subhanahu wa ta'ala and then you
[18:26]find some serious problems in some communities alhamdulillah in this masjid in
[18:29]this community we don't find that but there are there are places
[18:34]where some where some they feel singled out this is a masjid
[18:41]for the elite this is a masjid for the rich this is
[18:44]a masjid for the poor people for the rich people this is
[18:46]a masjid for the white for the black for the people of
[18:50]this community and that community this is haram my dear brothers and
[18:53]sisters and we see that this happens this is a reality in
[18:58]some communities the mosques belong to god you can't come and say
[19:10]this is a masjid that belongs to this community or that community
[19:15]the mosque belong to god we cannot discriminate when it comes to
[19:17]the masjid rasool allah he made the masjid be an inclusive place
[19:24]for every single community member the white and the black bilal habashi
[19:30]salman pharisee suhaiba rumi abu dharr all of them he made it
[19:38]a place for them while today you go to some communities you
[19:42]see oh this is a masjid for the people of this village
[19:45]this is a masjid for the people of this country this is
[19:49]a masjid for people who speak this language this is not islamic
[19:54]furthermore social classes we don't we don't have social classes when it
[20:00]comes to our masjids one day a man a poor man he
[20:09]comes into the masjid and he goes to sit next to a
[20:13]wealthy person so once the wealthy person he saw that this poor
[20:17]person was sitting next to him all that he did was he
[20:22]gathered his clothes he gathered them so right away rasulullah noticed he
[20:25]tells him why did you gather your clothes are you afraid of
[20:29]this person he tells him why are you afraid that his poverty
[20:34]is going to transfer to you or your wealth is going to
[20:39]transfer to him why did you gather your clothes the man right
[20:43]away he said i apologize i know i realized that what i
[20:48]did was wrong so i'm willing to give away a portion of
[20:52]my wealth either half or one-third of my wealth he says i'm
[20:55]willing to give it away to this person now that's a big
[21:00]sacrifice give away half of my money or one third of my
[21:02]money so rasulullah he looks at the poor person he tells him
[21:07]are you willing he's willing to give you half of his money
[21:09]a portion of his money will you take it the poor person
[21:14]says no ya rasulullah i don't want to take it he tells
[21:19]him why he says i'm afraid what happened to him will happen
[21:22]to me as well you know some people as soon as they
[21:27]have some money as soon as they have some they're they give
[21:31]them an upgrade they're driving a car they're a nicer car they
[21:35]have a big house they have this they start looking down at
[21:37]other people oh i can't sit next to this person i can't
[21:41]be with this person allah once a person feels that they are
[21:53]wealthy they are not in need of anyone or anything they start
[21:58]looking down at other people they start humiliating other people and this
[22:04]is haram this is wrong now my dear brothers and sisters there's
[22:07]a story just i wanted to add it because this is a
[22:13]part apart to mention it there was a poor person during the
[22:16]time of the prophet by the name of abdullah ibn um this
[22:23]one he was blind and they're the story supposedly and this is
[22:30]the story of the tafsir surat he frowned and turned his face
[22:36]when a blind person came today you go and you open the
[22:40]books of tafsir and they'll tell you that that was rasulullah that
[22:44]did that rasulullah was sitting and he was talking to people and
[22:50]eben um he comes and he calls rasulallah now this is the
[23:05]tafsir this is the narrative that's out there do we accept this
[23:09]as followers of the albeit no rasulallah would never do such a
[23:18]thing rasool allah the man who the quran describes him by saying
[23:26][Music] he's supposed to lower himself for the menin would he come
[23:39]and someone who is a muslim he comes and he frowns in
[23:44]his face for the sake of the kuffar of course not rasulallah
[23:47]did not do that and imam sadaq they say that that's not
[23:55]rasulullah some narrations say that that was uthman uthman bin afan but
[23:58]today if you come and you tell people that was uthman they'll
[24:02]say no no how can you talk about the sahaba how can
[24:04]you talk about uthman oh so it's okay for you to talk
[24:08]about rasulallah but it's not okay to talk about uthman and this
[24:11]is the reality some people they're willing to bring down rasool allah
[24:19]for the sake of the actions in order to defend others so
[24:29]this is one reason sometimes there's racial racial tension why or economic
[24:39]social status social status social discrimination within the mosque some people they
[24:45]say i don't feel comfortable other times my dear brothers and sisters
[24:50]sometimes there is a power tension within the mosque sometimes you find
[24:57]two people they want to fight over power where do they fight
[25:01]over power and the masjid in the leadership of the masjid and
[25:07]that also can push away many people i've traveled through many states
[25:12]i've visited many mosques and many times you hear that there's power
[25:16]tension between two individuals between two groups and a masjid in a
[25:23]community and the whole community is divided because two people they want
[25:28]to fight they risk the well-being of the whole community the whole
[25:35]community is turned away from religion they're disenchanted with religion they don't
[25:40]feel welcomed in the masjid because they say look the people who
[25:44]are attending the masjid they're fighting with one another what am i
[25:47]going to go and do there i want to go and add
[25:49]be a part of that fight i don't want to be a
[25:50]part of that and this is a problem and this is a
[25:57]problem that existed as well during the time of rasulallah there was
[26:02]a group of the hypocrites they came and they began to build
[26:07]a masjid rasulullah they come and they build the masjid next to
[26:13]the masjid of rasulullah in the same medina why to create division
[26:19]to bring people away from rasulullah the foundation was not to get
[26:47]closer to allah it was not built upon getting closer to allah
[26:50]it was built because of personal egos some people they come and
[26:54]they want to have their own egos they want people to recognize
[26:56]them and recognize their power they come and they say let me
[27:00]build a masjid whereas a true masjid is a masjid that is
[27:07]built upon taqwa allah talks about about us you have to pray
[27:24]in a masjid that was founded upon taqwa the seeds have to
[27:29]be pure if there is tension if there is power fighting group
[27:35]of people fighting over power and authority then that means taqwa is
[27:39]not there this is why we have to cleanse our purity we
[27:43]have to cleanse our intentions when it comes to the masajid some
[27:50]people say how can rasulullah destroy a masjid yes he destroyed it
[27:54]because the foundation was not pure and then my dear brothers and
[28:02]sisters another reason why some people do not attend mosques and do
[28:07]not attend places of worship is because they feel that the masjid
[28:14]and the place of worship is not connecting with them there's no
[28:20]connection they feel like there's a disconnect some people they want to
[28:24]come and conduct a program the same way the programs were conducted
[28:27]60 years ago in the village that's the same way we're going
[28:31]to run the program but the times have changed the needs have
[28:38]changed the subjects those who are attending the masjid they're all so
[28:44]different the problems the challenges that they're facing are different we need
[28:48]to teach ourselves and this goes to parenting and this also goes
[28:53]to those individuals who are running the masjid and as well a
[28:57]speaker like myself we have to cater to the needs of the
[29:02]community right now not cater to the needs of the community 20
[29:05]years ago maybe 20 years ago the challenges were different 20 years
[29:08]ago did we have tick-tock and instagram and all of these things
[29:12]we didn't 20 years ago you didn't have access you barely had
[29:17]access to the internet now everything is different now the challenges are
[29:24]much more diff are are very different and the masjid and the
[29:30]place of worship needs to address these problems it needs to address
[29:33]the challenges that the community is facing this is one another very
[29:40]important point we need to speak to people in their language some
[29:45]people they think english is for the kids only no you need
[29:50]to speak to people in their own language allah prophets and messengers
[29:57]in the language of their people he didn't only send the prophets
[30:02]to speak in arabic or hebrew no rasulallah he spoke in arabic
[30:08]there were other prophets that spoke different languages every prophet they would
[30:18]speak in a language particular to their people and the mosques and
[30:23]the places of worship needs to need to also cater to the
[30:27]needs the different languages furthermore we need to become creative when it
[30:33]comes to the programs you know i've mentioned this before imam al-baqar
[30:39]he used to in the masjid of rasulullah he used to teach
[30:46]geography and geology and physics and all of these things imam al-baqar
[30:51]he's not only teaching quran and hadith and and these things the
[30:55]masjid needs to be a place that caters to all sciences so
[30:59]why not we have this facility why not use it as a
[31:03]math tutoring place why not use it as a place where the
[31:08]young adults they could come and apply for colleges they could come
[31:12]and learn how to apply for colleges why not use it as
[31:14]a sports facility why not use it for many functions you have
[31:18]this place it needs to be used in many functions and every
[31:24]single member in the community needs to benefit let the adults the
[31:28]senior citizens instead of going out and hanging out somewhere else let
[31:31]them come and hang out in the masjid the children instead of
[31:35]going and you pay thousands of dollars to put them in a
[31:37]daycare bring them to the masjid at least they could hear the
[31:41]quran at least they could hear and learn about their faith learn
[31:44]about their values the young adults the women the men every person
[31:50]needs to feel involved and participating furthermore we need to think out
[31:59]of the box right now we're living here we have all immigrants
[32:05]alhamdulillah we don't have a single convert i don't know maybe there
[32:10]is we don't have someone who's from the outside community coming and
[32:15]attending even though we live in a country where the majority of
[32:18]the people are non-muslim why don't we invite non-muslims to our mosques
[32:21]why don't we open the doors and make it welcoming now someone
[32:25]says the doors are always open sayyid yes but wait and see
[32:30]when a non-muslim comes and enters into the masjid everyone's looking oh
[32:33]you became muslim oh you want to join the religion everyone starts
[32:37]talking to this person sometimes we make it uncomfortable for them so
[32:43]we need to bring non-muslims introduce them to the religion of islam
[32:48]you all have co-workers you all have individuals at school with you
[32:55]friends bring them bring them to the majalis of muharram ramadan the
[32:59]programs bring them to the masjid and let them learn about the
[33:03]religion of islam because what they know about the religion of islam
[33:06]is very different from the reality and another very important point my
[33:13]dear brothers and sisters the masjid needs to be needs to cater
[33:20]to the youth and not only cater to the youth but the
[33:25]youth must be heard and listened a lot of times we come
[33:31]and we bring speaker some communities they come and they say we
[33:33]brought a speaker to the youth but did we ask the youth
[33:36]who do they want to listen to did we ask the youth
[33:40]what kind of a speaker what are they interested in let them
[33:42]be a part of the running the program let them be a
[33:47]part of the leadership let them make decisions let them feel welcomed
[33:50]and at home in the masjid because if they don't feel at
[33:55]home in the masjid then they're going to go feel at home
[33:58]somewhere else and that's it they're not going to come to the
[34:02]masjid anymore they're not going to feel welcome you know even children
[34:07]let them come even if they make noise of course not during
[34:10]my lecture but any other time when they let them make noise
[34:15]let them be here because if you keep telling them be quiet
[34:17]don't do this don't do that go away don't do this they're
[34:21]going to say okay i don't feel welcome at the masjid i
[34:23]don't feel comfortable here and that's it they're going to leave no
[34:28]let them come every single member of the community needs to feel
[34:35]welcome especially the youth because the youth they are the next generation
[34:38]every major movement whether it is revolutions or scientific movements or any
[34:47]of that those who were at the helm those who were leading
[34:50]it they were the youth they were the younger generation and this
[34:54]is why we need to allow the youth to make change we
[34:58]need to allow the youth give them the room give them the
[35:01]keys and tell them here we will guide you the adults will
[35:06]be there to guide you to show you the way but you
[35:08]have a position you are respected your voice is respected and your
[35:12]voice is heard once you do that you will see the community
[35:15]is going to be different once you see that you will see
[35:21]there will be success the major movements they were run by the
[35:24]youth his movement it was mainly the youth and it was an
[35:33]inclusive movement that included everyone he did not discriminate against different people
[35:40]in the community and similarly with imam al-hussein his movement was a
[35:46]movement that did not discriminate he also had the youth he had
[35:51]the young he had the old he had the rich he had
[35:55]the poor he had the people who had just joined the religion
[35:58]of islam and he had habib who was from the sahaba of
[36:03]rasulallah he had people who had hatred towards the albeit and they
[36:09]changed overnight like zohair abner who was one of the companions of
[36:16]imam and hussain he was killed on the day of ashura supporting
[36:20]imam and hussain but his whole life he was arguing and defending
[36:24]uthman he believed he believed that uthman was killed because of imam
[36:31]ali and because of the children of imam ali he had a
[36:33]vendetta against the alabait but subhan allah days moments before ashura who
[36:49]was a christian he changes and you had young children youth that
[36:57]came out to defend imam al-hussein this is why on a night
[37:07]like this the eve of the sixth of muharram we remember the
[37:11]ansar of imam al-hussein those men women children young old they all
[37:23]came out to show their support to imam al-hussein they all came
[37:31]out to sell imam al-hussein hussain we are answering your call o
[37:35]abba abdullah you know many people they left imam and hussain many
[37:42]people they came and they told him saying we don't want to
[37:45]be with you when imam al-hussein heard news that muslim they were
[37:53]killed there were more people in the caravan with him they left
[37:58]many people they left it wasn't though just those 72 those men
[38:03]that were with imam hussain from the beginning to the end no
[38:05]when imam and hussain first left mecca he had many people hundreds
[38:10]of people they left with him they were in it because they
[38:15]said imam al-hussein is going to go to kufa there's going to
[38:17]be an uprising he's going to be the next khalifa let me
[38:20]be a part of it once they saw that there's a life
[38:24]and death issue once they heard that there are people being killed
[38:27]for the cause they said you know what i don't have anything
[38:31]to do with this and this is why we need to keep
[38:33]reminding ourselves of imam al-hussein because we have a duty to the
[38:40]imam of our time imam al-mahdi some people they do allah and
[38:50]then the hadith says once the imam comes some people they're going
[38:54]to tell him go back we don't want to inconvenience our lives
[38:57]if i'm not willing to go to a masjid how am i
[39:00]willing to be supporter of the imam of my time this is
[39:07]the reality the reality is we have to change ourselves from now
[39:11]so that we can be real supporters we have to make sure
[39:15]that we have a pure intention you know those people who were
[39:21]with imam al-hussein three of them at least three of them they
[39:24]were from the sahaba of rasulallah meaning that they lived during the
[39:44]time of the prophet and then imam ali imam hassan and now
[39:46]the grandson of the prophet they're willing to give their lives for
[39:52]the sake of abba abdullah the story says one day rasulullah he
[39:58]saw children playing in madinah and he saw a child this child
[40:02]he's playing with imam al-hussein and he's taking care of imam al-hussein
[40:06]he's removing the dust from the from the shoulders from the body
[40:12]of imam al-hussein and imam hussain was a child at that time
[40:18]he goes he kisses that child he goes he kisses him the
[40:25]muslims they look they see this is habib from day one he
[40:32]wanted to sacrifice his life for the sake of abba abdullah these
[40:40]were the sahaba these were the ansar of imam al-hussein one of
[40:45]the first who went out to be killed was he was the
[40:55]first person who intercepted imam al-hussein he didn't like hussein reach kufa
[41:02]now subhanallah the day of ashura came al-har never thought it was
[41:08]going to reach fighting he thought they were just going to stop
[41:11]imam and hussain but the day of ashura came and he saw
[41:13]that they're ready to fight he asked i'm sad he tells him
[41:18]you're going to fight the grandson of the prophet he says allah
[41:23]yes fighting where the arms and the heads will fall off so
[41:27]he began to shiver al-hara is a general a general in the
[41:32]army no one has seen him shiver no one has seen him
[41:37]shake so they tell him what's happened to you why are you
[41:41]shivering he says for allah i choose i see myself choosing between
[41:51]heaven and hell and i will never choose anything over paradise so
[41:56]he begins to walk towards imam hussain with what face he was
[42:02]the one who stopped him hussain he walks to imam hussain he
[42:06]has his head down he gets close to imam al-hussein imam hussain
[42:12]tells him who are you he doesn't say his name i am
[42:30]the one who harassed you i am do you accept my repentance
[42:36]do you accept my toba imam hussain tells him if you are
[42:45]sincere god will forgive you imam hussain did not have any graduates
[42:48]hussain did not hold back without hesitation right away he said allah
[42:54]will forgive you and then against the army that he came with
[43:10]and he [Music] he begins you're a free man just as your
[43:40]mother named you you're free in this life and free in the
[43:47]afterlife there were many of the companions of imam and hussain they
[43:51]went out they fought courageously they fought very bravely one of them
[43:57]this man he has just gotten married and they had just converted
[44:03]to the religion of islam his mother is there and his wife
[44:06]is there his mother suddenly courageously he comes back to her he
[44:37]tells her what happened you were just telling me not to fight
[44:39]and now you're telling me to fight she tells him is there
[45:05]anyone he said she said i heard imam and hussain standing by
[45:09]the tent and saying is there anyone that will support us is
[45:13]there anyone that will help us so i tell you oh i
[45:16]have to go and fight fights and then his wife she goes
[45:22]and she is also killed these were the companions of imam al-hussein
[45:27]they would come one after the other they would show their allegiance
[45:31]imam and hussain one of them he goes to the battle he
[45:40]comes back to imam hussain with blood drenched in his body and
[45:43]then he comes and he tells him yes and i will surely
[46:15]follow you very soon they all fought until the ansar of imam
[46:22]and husain were all killed after they were killed imam al-hussein [Music]
[46:39]why is it that you don't answer me you used to always
[46:45]answer me you used to always be there for me yes i
[46:48]know you don't answer because you already fulfilled your promise you already
[46:53]sacrificed all that you [Music] foreign foreign allah [Music] [Music] [Music] foreign
[48:55]you
