[0:00]audhu billahi min as-shaytan ar-rajim bismillah r-rahman r-rahim al-hamdu lillahi rabbil alameen
[0:08]wa sallahu allah sayidina muhammadin wa hayati be not a hurry Allah
[0:13]Allah Allah Allah Muhammad respected brothers and sisters assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh we
[0:23]shall continue examining the last part of sermon for in nanjing balada
[0:29]and then inshallah we will examine sermon number 7 if you have
[0:37]any questions always feel free to ask or if you want clarification
[0:40]on some of the content that is discussed or if you have
[0:43]an objection to anything that we cover please feel free to do
[0:50]so we'd like to make this as interactive as possible for our
[0:53]dear members who are following online they can also ask just I'm
[0:59]new your mic and you can speak and if you have any
[1:01]questions feel free to ask us live in Charlotte in sermon number
[1:07]4 we examined how Imam Ali bin Abi thought about it and
[1:12]I'm demonstrated that the elevate take you out of darkness and into
[1:16]light once you follow their teachings and the Imam very beautifully and
[1:23]poetic poetically describes that very vividly in this passage that will examine
[1:29]tonight the imam ali salam states Adam to Allah whom Allah Sentinel
[1:34]happy Fiji Adel mavala the Imam peace be upon him is describing
[1:40]how he stood for the people to guide them to the path
[1:48]of righteousness a few words to analyze here that are truly fascinating
[1:52]in the Arabic language let's analyze these words because when we study
[1:59]Nadja Baraka it's also important to be familiar with the Arabic language
[2:04]remember a Sharif or lovely the one who compiled natural bonaga the
[2:09]title that he gave this book as what the path of eloquence
[2:15]eloquence makes a big difference sometimes when you have an idea you
[2:20]communicate it in a very eloquent way it has a powerful impact
[2:26]so as we learn the content of Nigel Baraka it's also appropriate
[2:28]for us to be familiar with these Arabic words because the Imam
[2:33]and Islam in most of his words he is taking these words
[2:38]from the Holy Quran so the more we're familiar with Nigel balada
[2:42]the Arabic language the better we can grasp the Book of Allah
[2:45]Subhan Allah tada so the Imam says I stood for you o
[2:49]people o Allah send a little hug what does Sinan mean here
[3:03]very close we have Senna an Arabic which means one year we
[3:10]have the plural Sinan there's a castle on the scene Sinan that
[3:19]means years plural we have Sonnen Sonnen is the plural of which
[3:26]word in Arabic Sun and Sun that means path it means a
[3:34]pathway of live tradition this one is a new word Senen means
[3:39]a clear path not just any path a clear path it's called
[3:46]Senen in arabic and notice that this is not plural this is
[3:49]a singular word Senate means a clear path so the amount says
[3:53]I I'll even have you thought it I stand for you on
[3:57]a clear path you want a clear path of truth come to
[4:03]me Seminole Huck Feige o Adam Avella jawad and we have here
[4:11]alma bulla the Imam says in an area where people go astray
[4:18]people deviate I am standing for you to guide you look at
[4:25]the beautiful words the word jihad what does the word jihad the
[4:29]word that you're familiar with is generous at a mammal jihad the
[4:37]generous Imam the name jawad could be a horse could be someone
[4:42]who's generous right notice that that jihad has no shed de on
[4:45]the D it's a softie jihad this one is jawad dil de
[4:52]Malala there's a shed so in reality you have to DS here
[5:01]what does this word mean this is a plural word in Arabic
[5:05]what do you call like a road what do you call a
[5:11]freeway a highway any type of path that takes you somewhere Giada
[5:15]don't you say jad an arabic we have the word jaada jaada
[5:25]means one path what's the plural of Giada jawad jawad is the
[5:30]plural of this word just like Mahad what does Mahad mean in
[5:38]Arabic material or subjects subject material Mahad means material plural form what
[5:42]would be the singular form Mada write which material are you studying
[5:51]what is the matter you could say for example math or if
[5:55]you're building a building what is the matter that you're using what's
[5:58]that substance that you're using so just like Magda and it's singular
[6:03]becomes Mahad in its plural jad path and it's singular becomes jihad
[6:11]in its plural very amazing choice of words by Imam Ali okay
[6:19]the paths now we have the jawad the paths mavin look at
[6:23]the word ma Bangla here look at the root word any hint
[6:30]as to what it could mean even if you don't know the
[6:33]exact form well see the root word it can go to Berlin
[6:40]right vilela Butler Butler with this laud that doesn't have the handle
[6:51]as we say it right we have a vadas like this and
[6:53]then we have the big Val makes a difference which one you
[7:04]use now Butler means what deviates goes astray is misguided this word
[7:13]that the Imam uses is taken from bulla bulla means to deviate
[7:18]mallanna is a place of deviation because in Arabic if you use
[7:23]this form muffin it gives you the meaning of a place sachet
[7:33]that means what to prostrate what does message it mean place of
[7:38]prostration that's why the place where you prostrate is called a message
[7:42]it and the message it is a place where you prostrate and
[7:46]do I abide that that's why it's called the message it comes
[7:49]from salute other examples Mac tell what does Mac tell me place
[7:59]of death or time of death you could say Mac steadily Mammon
[8:01]for say nana Salafi Caramella see that means death but once you
[8:08]put that in McTell form it gives you the meaning of place
[8:11]or time maktab what does max have an Arabic mean library well
[8:17]make tawba okay library that's fine maktab office right what does office
[8:23]maktab have to do with the root word kotoba because in an
[8:29]office usually what do people do they're writing something right so that's
[8:33]why it's called the Maktub a place of writing Makabe a place
[8:38]of books Kutub see how the Arabic language words Markab can you
[8:43]figure out what that means the general meaning of Markab well what
[8:50]does my cuba mean to ride so madcap means place of riding
[8:56]it could be a horse it could be a car it could
[9:01]be a boat it could be anything so ma banda here means
[9:04]a place where people deviate imam ali says in a place where
[9:10]people deviate and there are so many paths of deviation i am
[9:13]there for you to guide you beautiful words from the imam mahdi
[9:17]and Sara now notice we have another word in Arabic called mavala
[9:25]let's write this here with the big vaak what does that mean
[9:30]umbrella right in our modern days we use it to refer to
[9:37]an umbrella shams iam Avila why what does that have to do
[9:39]with an umbrella look at the root word shade what do you
[9:46]call shade in Arabic Lynn Lynn is shade so a place where
[9:53]you get shaded could be that umbrella but remember that comes from
[9:56]a different word I know this is complex you know this is
[9:59]this requires mastery of the Arabic language but look at the word
[10:02]choice of Imam Ali audience and I'm so precise and remember he's
[10:08]giving these speeches impromptu yet when you look at the eloquence of
[10:13]it it's it's mesmerizing so the Imam Mahdi's Salam says I come
[10:17]to Lacan Allah sin and he'll hawk Figo I did my Bangla
[10:23]I stood there for you for the truth the clear path of
[10:25]truth Feige Awad Dilma Varla in those paths that take you to
[10:35]deviation question when imam ali mentions the hunk he says Sinan the
[10:39]clear path one path but when he mentions deviation he says jawad
[10:43]various paths why is it that when the imam refers to the
[10:50]path of deviation he uses plural paths of deviation but when he
[10:54]is mentioning the hawk he uses the singular why yes brother because
[11:00]the Hat there's only one path you don't have multiple paths that
[11:07]take you to hawk sirat al-mustaqim is one path but when you
[11:10]have paths of deviation there are many that in itself is an
[11:14]amazing literary tool that the Imam uses every letter in Angela melaka
[11:17]is just amazing and then the Imam says hi so tell cocoon
[11:25]what a Delisle you people when you don't have a guide like
[11:29]me you've abandoned us the idol bait you gather tell it's a
[11:34]boon from Luka and usually when people gather they're working together to
[11:40]find a way out you are gathering while idly but you don't
[11:45]have a guide what's the point if ten thousand people gather in
[11:49]the desert but none of them knows how to use the compass
[11:51]or none of them knows the way out is there gathering going
[11:56]to save them it's not going to save them they mom says
[11:58]you are larger numbers you know how to gather an assemble but
[12:03]you don't have a guide hi so today Pune well a deal
[12:05]what a Fiona why lied to me hoon dr.
[12:10]firoun what does dr.
[12:14]Fallone means it's taken from the word hora hora in Arabic is
[12:18]a ditch so yeah a fair means to dig you are digging
[12:28]searching for water will add to me hoon one add to me
[12:31]hoon can someone guess what to me who means you can't find
[12:39]water where can you find the word water in this verb exactly
[12:43]in arabic water is called mot the word mat means water what's
[12:54]the plural waters mia right mia means water and plural form to
[13:00]me who means searching for water the Imam says you're digging you're
[13:06]trying to find the truth you're trying to find that water that
[13:10]saves you but you can't find it when you don't have a
[13:12]guide beautiful words by Mahmoud even have you thought about his Sena
[13:20]any questions about this passage then the Imam Mahdi's Salam moves to
[13:26]the second passage the Imam says a glioma an takuna kumejima ad
[13:33]that'll be on the Imam says today I will make that which
[13:42]does not speak speak and express itself the word ajumma and Arabic
[13:46]is an animal that cannot communicate an animal that does not speak
[13:51]just like the animals that we have right with us human beings
[13:56]they generally don't know how to communicate most animals the Imam says
[14:01]the animal that does not know how to speak in other words
[14:04]I will make it speak for you this is an Arabic expression
[14:12]which means there are no not miracles there are silent lessons in
[14:19]life they're silent you need someone to teach you how to make
[14:25]those lessons speak I am the one who will give life to
[14:32]these lessons so you know how to practically implement them some some
[14:37]examples just to understand what the Imam is saying here there are
[14:41]many lessons in our lives many silent aspects of our lives for
[14:48]instance someone dies in the community you're looking at this event what
[14:53]is the lesson that's communicated to you from this event when someone
[14:58]dies in the community there's a death in the community what message
[15:03]is being sent to you you're next your day will come just
[15:08]like this person died you will die one day Shahla you're not
[15:11]next you'll all have a long life but that's a silent message
[15:14]you need wisdom to take the silent message into a message that's
[15:22]vocal that speaks to you or you need a guide or you
[15:24]need a teacher or you need someone I'll remind otherwise the event
[15:28]itself is silent that's why most people pass by these events and
[15:32]it doesn't impact them every day someone dies but most people don't
[15:35]care death is for others not for me it's for my neighbor
[15:38]it's not for me it's for the others not for me you
[15:43]need someone who gives life to these lessons the gray hair that
[15:47]starts popping on your head and beard that's a silent message what
[15:51]is this communicating it's knocking at your head death is closer you're
[15:57]getting older are you ready or no see that's a silent message
[16:00]you see other families falling apart broken families problems that's a message
[16:07]for you don't be like that see why they failed and learn
[16:12]from that all of these are silent hidden messages when you see
[16:15]greed out there in society that's a message for you don't fall
[16:21]into that greed greed can kill you can kill family members just
[16:24]a few days ago there was an article in The New York
[16:32]Times about a a hedge manager those hedge funds what do you
[16:37]call them in Wall Street this millionaire this broker who deals with
[16:42]hedge funds he has a son he funded his education he sent
[16:50]his son to Princeton he gave him what he wanted and he
[16:54]would give him four thousand dollars a month three or four thousand
[17:00]dollars a month and basically he was telling his son his son
[17:03]is 35 years old you have to establish yourself yes I'm helping
[17:08]you out by giving you this allowance but you need to go
[17:11]and find work his son didn't care he was reckless with his
[17:16]life so his father decided to reduce his allowance by like 30
[17:21]percent let's say instead of giving him $4,000 he is now giving
[17:24]him $3,000 a month look at the greed you know what the
[17:29]son did he came from another state to visit his parents so
[17:32]he told his mother I want to spend some private time with
[17:37]my father his mother became very happy some quality time but we
[17:40]father and his son that's good that's promising and then he told
[17:46]her I want some soda some coke he knows that they don't
[17:48]have Coke in the house his mom has a policy where there
[17:51]is no Coke it's not healthy she told him okay we don't
[17:55]have it but now that you've come you know from another state
[17:57]and you want to spend some quality time with your father I'll
[18:02]give you but let me go get it from the market as
[18:03]soon as she leaves she feels something's not right him coming in
[18:09]wanting to spend some time making me go and get the soda
[18:14]so she starts worrying she comes back and she sees that he
[18:17]had shot his own father to death with a gun because he
[18:22]denied him $1,000 a month look at what greed does now there's
[18:25]a court case pending so just a few days ago in the
[18:29]New York Times now for most of us we just read this
[18:33]story Oh sounds like a Hollywood movie might not even have you
[18:36]thought about islam teaches us these lessons make them speak to you
[18:39]sometimes you need a guide you need a teacher you need wisdom
[18:43]you need contemplation reflection realize that greed can impact you too now
[18:47]maybe you won't go to that extreme but we are willing to
[18:50]go sometimes to other types of extremes for greed so the Imam
[18:56]Ali Salaam says I am the guide here who will take the
[18:59]silent lessons and I will show you how to learn from these
[19:07]lessons as ybarra humor in telephony the Amanar isa damn states the
[19:12]person who does not join me who falls behind it's like the
[19:17]imam has a caravan and you're joining him the one who feel
[19:21]falls behind from this caravan aza bara Uemura in telephony his opinion
[19:26]will be a wrong opinion his path will be a wrong path
[19:33]and he will be missing wisdom what does the word ahzab and
[19:37]Arabic mean the Quran in speaking about the knowledge of allah subhana
[19:46]wa ta'ala the quran says la Zuba an enemy he the word
[19:49]that you're referring to is a dab adverb with the doll that
[19:55]means punishment or suffering but this is what the zai Na subbu
[20:03]nothing goes missing from the knowledge of Allah nothing is absent the
[20:06]amount of Salaam says the one who doesn't join me his opinion
[20:08]his mentality his lifestyle his ideology is missing the truth it's missing
[20:14]wisdom then the Imam at is Sonam explains why why is it
[20:20]that if you don't join him you will lose your opinions will
[20:23]be flawed mashuk act to fill hot day month or a toe
[20:29]never did I doubt the truth since the day I saw you
[20:32]can trust alia battalion because he's with the hack and the happens
[20:36]with M you don't mean he never did I have any doubts
[20:38]since I saw the truth since the Prophet delivered this message I
[20:44]never had any doubts those other leaders whom you're following is that
[20:49]the case with them or no or did they have doubts in
[20:53]their lives or did they challenge the prophets of Allah Allahu Allah
[20:56]how many times did his companions challenge him but show one instance
[20:59]of Ali I'm never tired of doubting one thing in the Quran
[21:04]or the Prophet or challenging the Prophet or even slightly objecting to
[21:08]the Prophet show us one instance of that in any hadith a
[21:11]mom says I have the full truth so you are confident in
[21:18]joining imam ahmad IBN ABI talib in the last parts of this
[21:21]sermon and we will conclude before going to sermon number 7 the
[21:27]imam addresses an important objection after the Battle of Jimin remember the
[21:31]Imam made the sermon after the Battle of Jimin after the Battle
[21:35]of German or at the Battle of German Imam Ali Ali Salam
[21:37]was seen concerned and even fearful have you seen someone who's concerned
[21:46]he's worrying he's kind of afraid or scared or fearful a mani
[21:49]was seen in that type of situation so now someone can object
[21:54]to him and say oh I'll even have you Talib if you
[21:58]have no doubts you're so confident that you're on the right path
[22:01]why do we see you sometimes shaking sometimes concerned you should be
[22:06]fully confident why do we see that canoe the Imam addresses this
[22:11]the Imam and Islam states lamb you just smooth he fatten Allen
[22:16]Epson the Holy Quran speaks about prophet musa alayhis salaam when the
[22:23]sorcerer's through their staffs for instance alas planet allah says in the
[22:27]holy quran allah ya musa and tongue kiowa in an akuna a
[22:34]Whaleman Alta o musa do you want to start this competition you
[22:37]throw your stick your staff or we throw ours are labelled and
[22:44]poo he said no you guys start VII da hey Balu who
[22:47]moi I'll see you whom you hate yellow Olay him and Sarah
[22:52]him and Natasha then their ropes and their staffs appeared in an
[22:56]optical illusion that they're moving for Josephine FC here he fattened Musa
[23:02]Musa felt house in his heart in his heart worry fear why
[23:11]is it he chosen by allah subhanaw taala he's one of them
[23:16]are Celine and God exactly told him what to do the plan
[23:21]and he knows God is with him why was Musa scared yes
[23:31]exactly Musa got scared because the magic they did was so phenomenal
[23:37]and large in its scale he was concerned that the people will
[23:45]fall for them when you see that sorcery you will believe the
[23:48]magician's so he was scared about the people being brainwashed by the
[23:51]Pharaoh and the magicians that's why he was scared so he might
[23:55]not even have you thought about Islam States let me just Musashi
[23:58]Faton Alon of say he was never scared about his own self
[24:05]that's not the object of his concern Ashfaq time in Mazzella battle
[24:10]Jehan what do one of Allen he was concerned that the jihad
[24:13]the ignorant ones the deviant ones they will achieve victory that day
[24:19]so unless Poirot Tara told Musa don't be concerned I know what
[24:22]I'm doing I will grant you victory don't worry throw your stuff
[24:26]and let's see what happens so he might not even have you
[24:29]thought about it said I'm saying when you see me concerned I'm
[24:32]not scared for myself I'm not concerned about myself I'm concerned about
[24:39]you people being fooled like German Muslims got fooled the wife of
[24:43]the Prophet is sitting on a camel and she's mobilizing people toward
[24:45]a lot of people fell for that Wow she's the wife of
[24:50]the Prophet she must be on Huck she must be on the
[24:52]truth that has a companion jubail has a companion they must be
[24:56]on the truth the Imam was concerned people were losing their faith
[24:59]they were deviating so that's why the Imam showed concern and he
[25:03]is explaining why he showed concern my mom says don't worry I
[25:07]never have doubts about the truth I'm concerned about you in other
[25:10]words the Imam is really expressing his compassion to the Ummah that
[25:14]I care about you I'm not like these leaders who want to
[25:19]take advantage of you I honestly and sincerely care about you and
[25:22]if you see me scared sometimes it's because of you people because
[25:25]I'm concerned about you giving up your faith or you becoming hypocrites
[25:29]are you being exploited by others and being misguided by others with
[25:37]that we conclude sermon number four and nefud Baraka any questions on
[25:44]the sermon what's your overall take on the sermon it's a pretty
[25:49]short one but it highlights the position of a debate peace be
[25:53]upon them and how they are the source of guidance many particular
[25:58]thoughts observations the words the eloquence the content it is brief a
[26:09]lot of the sermons of Imam Ali Ali Salaam were brief number
[26:14]two a Sharif Allah lovely sometimes would summarize to four so if
[26:18]it was a longer sermon maybe he would just take parts of
[26:20]the sermon as well but yes a lot of these sermons are
[26:25]brief remember the Imams sometimes would say these sermons in a setting
[26:28]where he couldn't take too long you need a you know a
[26:31]quick two three minutes to strike them with the word of Hattin
[26:35]to leave it could be in the battlefield it could be while
[26:39]he was traveling it could be somewhere where he probably did not
[26:43]have time to speak for long so yes it is a brief
[26:51]sermon between a lot of sermons were actually brief because of that
[27:02]either there were people who were hypocrites in the crowd and they
[27:06]did not want him I'm not even happy a lot about he
[27:08]said I'm to continue so they would either distract him or say
[27:13]something or do something to cut him off because the truth is
[27:15]heavy on them so that would happen often even during the caliphates
[27:19]of lima even during the caliphates of neema it's not like he
[27:24]had the flexibility to say whatever he wanted there were a lot
[27:26]of challenges and remember imam ali ali said i'm one feature that
[27:34]distinguishes him from other rulers he doesn't have a bunch of flatterers
[27:37]sitting in front of him see mahalia only the flatterers are welcome
[27:41]to his measures you challenge mahalia you get executed seriously it was
[27:45]as simple as that imam ali allowed everyone to come the Huaraz
[27:49]would come the hypocrites would come even his enemies they would come
[27:53]to his message it they would challenge him they my man he
[27:56]said I've never excommunicated them he never stopped them he gave them
[28:00]the freedom really there was freedom of speech during the time of
[28:05]Imam Ali Ali Sinha and that's really a lesson for us let's
[28:08]now examine sermon number 7 sermon number 7 is even shorter than
[28:15]sermon number 4 but it's pretty interesting in this sermon the amount
[28:19]only Saddam starts by saying it's akhada Shaitaan and mhmm Malacca the
[28:23]Imam in one brief paragraph highlights the role of the devil Shaitaan
[28:29]in misguiding us allah subhanaw taala states and saw returned and saw
[28:36]it father verse number 6 in a shaitana lucuma do indeed the
[28:42]devil the Shaitaan he is your enemy Fatah hadoo hadoo wa so
[28:48]take him as an active enemy most of us don't we do
[28:54]not take Satan as an active enemy last year when we talked
[28:58]about the angels and how Allah Spano Tara commanded I beliefs to
[29:02]do sujood to add them and how he refused we spoke about
[29:07]it believes very briefly emelius was not created Satan he beliefs was
[29:12]not created as an evil creature in fact for a long time
[29:18]he was worshipping God he was prostrating to God and Allah gave
[29:22]him permission to mingle amongst the angels but yes God gave him
[29:29]the capacity to deviate the tendency to deviate he gave him free
[29:34]well he used this free well properly for many years by worshipping
[29:37]God but then when a trial came he deviated so don't think
[29:42]that the devil was created evil because that would be unjust on
[29:46]a last part to create a being evil and then punish that
[29:52]being Allah created him pure on the first day yes Allah put
[29:54]the capacity to deviate in him to try him and test him
[30:00]he used this freewill to deviate so for a long time he
[30:02]worshipped Allah spano to Allah then jealousy and arrogance stopped him from
[30:07]submitting to the will of God when he challenged him with the
[30:13]salute to Adam and Sarah it beliefs is his name of that
[30:15]Shaitaan who refused to prostrate to Adam but what's the linguistic meaning
[30:20]of Shaitaan Shaitaan comes from shuttle Allah in Arabic what does shaitana
[30:29]as a verb mean to be far away to be far away
[30:30]from something okay why is the the shape on cult shape on
[30:37]what does that have to do with being far away far away
[30:40]from the truth exactly therefore the word shape on is not a
[30:44]word that's only applicable to say in anybody can be shaped on
[30:50]right that's why the holy quran states shayateen LNC well jinn the
[30:55]shaitaan's the human Shaitaan hands and the jinn Shaitaan you have human
[31:00]beings who are shaytans because they are far away from the truth
[31:02]and they advocate for falsehood and notice that the quran starts with
[31:09]ends before jinn that means the human shape hands are probably you
[31:17]know more destructive than the jinn Shetland's now basically what the devil
[31:24]does and the shape ons they instigate evil ideas in our minds
[31:29]and they awaken hidden desires will elaborate on that and they also
[31:34]taught human beings many sins we have in our hadith that the
[31:39]origin of a lot of sins was the Shaitaan now you might
[31:45]find this you know maybe objectionable especially if you want to study
[31:51]modern history and how humanity evolved but we do have numerous hadith
[31:55]that Shaitaan is the one who taught human beings you know singing
[31:58]that's Haram for an entertainment purposes provocative singing that distracts from Allah
[32:06]he came in in human form and he taught that village or
[32:08]that group of people how to sing and be distracted from God
[32:12]and then they learned this tradition and then you know other villages
[32:15]picked it up we do have this in our hadith yeah we're
[32:19]talking about it lease or anyone who works other jinn who are
[32:25]shinetheme so the source of many sins how to do that sin
[32:28]was actually instigated by Shaitaan he either put that thought in their
[32:31]mind or even showed them how to practice that sin this is
[32:36]mentioned clear Nina in our hadith let's now examine the text of
[32:41]the speech the Imam says it taka do Shaitaan and am rahim
[32:44]melaka they have taken shape Satan as the foundation for their affairs
[32:52]a few points here the word Malak in Arabic means what Malak
[32:59]means angel with the Fatima rock but with the castle Rama lack
[33:09]means foundation basis let's say you ask a scholar what is the
[33:12]basis for this fatwa and Arabic you would say man melaka had
[33:15]a hook or my malacca had a in Fatah so Malak means
[33:21]foundation the imagination says they took satan as the foundation for their
[33:27]affairs so the second point is the imam is saying Shaitaan is
[33:32]not imposed on you he does not coerce you you willingly allow
[33:38]Shaitaan to influence you there's no coercion you give him the green
[33:47]light by not having a strong resolve so it's not like shape
[33:50]on raids you and he overwhelms you he knocks at the door
[33:53]according to one scholar that's how he gave the example of shape
[34:01]on influencing us he knocks on your door you decide whether that
[34:04]door is opened or not yes he's persistent he keeps knocking and
[34:11]knocking and knocking until you open the door but in the end
[34:13]you open the door he has not been given permission by Allah
[34:19]Spano to Allah - involuntarily overwhelm you he knocks he instigates he
[34:25]instigates he encourages but in the end you decide to allow him
[34:28]to enter that's why I'm an alumna betart says it does I
[34:33]do they took a beliefs as the basis for their affairs it's
[34:36]not that he was imposed on them this is a very important
[34:41]point and I'll share with you an example of how we invite
[34:43]the Shaitaan if in your mind in your heart in your resolve
[34:52]you draw a red line a clearly defined red line you're not
[34:56]willing to make any exceptions the shade lon not penetrate that line
[35:04]he cannot cross that line the example that I always give is
[35:08]for the believers who don't drink who don't drink wine or alcohol
[35:17]those who don't drink why is it that you don't drink when
[35:20]others in society are drinking when they're addicted to drinking in fact
[35:25]in Western cultures especially in Europe you know you see some Europeans
[35:28]they have beer for breakfast lunch and dinner and it's a glass
[35:31]this big and they can't live without it when the weekend comes
[35:36]they have to go to the pub it's like they'll die if
[35:39]they don't go to the pub how come you don't struggle from
[35:41]that wine you're a human like they are you have desires like
[35:46]they do do you struggle with the idea of not drinking you
[35:48]don't in fact when you go to the supermarket and you pass
[35:53]by the aisle where they have the liquor bottles do you feel
[35:56]pulled do you feel this urge to go and buy it and
[36:01]you fight yourself why not explain it to me why don't you
[36:02]have that urge because you have a clearly defined red line in
[36:10]your mind that even if the day of judgement is gonna happen
[36:13]now I'm not gonna drink see you've made a decision I'm not
[36:18]going to open the door for shayla I'm not going to open
[36:20]the door for that desire you stick to that red line in
[36:24]fact after a while it becomes so natural you're not interested see
[36:27]how that red line does wonders in your life this is what
[36:33]the Imam is referring to over here but when it comes to
[36:38]other sins do we have that red line or no backbiting gossiping
[36:42]in our gatherings and sorrows do you view backbiting like you view
[36:46]wine and alcohol do you know you know is there a red
[36:53]line that's clearly defined in your mind no that's why you keep
[36:57]crossing it that's why you keep sitting and sinning and sinning or
[37:02]sometimes you know certain struggles with our temptations and desires whether it's
[37:06]the eyes the ears we don't have that clearly defined light if
[37:10]you do believe me chances are you won't cross that line if
[37:15]I'm constantly committing a sin that red line is not there the
[37:21]concept of infallibility asthma is really simple at its core those infallible
[37:27]beings they see every sin like you view alcohol like you view
[37:30]wine for them every sin is like that red line I'm not
[37:34]even gonna think about it do you even think about drinking honestly
[37:37]do you even think about it you don't even think about it
[37:39]so when it comes to drinking you're infallible not only do you
[37:46]not commit it you don't even think about it the tron fallible
[37:49]whether they're the infallible muscles or those you righteous servants of God
[37:54]who do have a level of infallibility they view every sin that
[37:57]way they realize every sin is ugly at its core every sin
[38:03]is reprehensible therefore they don't even think about that sin so the
[38:07]'memory sternum says if I'm struggling with this Atlantic's because I've taken
[38:12]him as the basis for my affairs I've allowed him I'm opening
[38:20]the door that's the first statement in the second statement the Imam
[38:24]Ali Salaam states what tejada home la who ash raka in the
[38:28]first part of the equation you willingly invite Shaitaan then Shaitaan will
[38:35]take you as an ash Rock what does ash lock mean let's
[38:43]look at the word Ashlock the word Ashlock has two meanings scholars
[38:50]have mentioned both of these meanings Shaitaan will take you as a
[38:56]schmuck it depends what the root word is because in Arabic sometimes
[38:59]you will have a plural word that can have multiple root words
[39:01]if the root word of a shock is shariq what does sheliak
[39:11]mean partner he'll take you as his partner if the root word
[39:16]is shariq but if the root word is shinnok sharukh and arabic
[39:26]is any device used to hunt or capture in other words and
[39:32]net a trap we call this Shattuck so a schmuck could either
[39:39]come from the word that means partner or it can come from
[39:42]the word that means trap or net if Shaitaan takes you as
[39:49]a partner the meaning is clear but how does chiffon take you
[39:52]as a net or as a trap for others sometimes the person
[39:56]becomes so close to shape on shaytans like look I don't even
[40:03]need to work on you you've signaled your willingness to work for
[40:06]me I will use you as a trap for others some people
[40:12]Shaitaan just causes them to deviate they'll be misguided they'll deviate they'll
[40:17]sin but they stop at that sometimes you become so close to
[40:21]Shaitaan he will actually use you as an agent for him to
[40:27]misguide others and this always happens in society people who fall into
[40:32]this category they start miss guiding others they have negative influence on
[40:36]others or they spread a negative attitude have you seen some people's
[40:41]always spread a positive attitude even in times of tragedy they spread
[40:45]a positive attitude be patient look at the bright side of life
[40:50]they always have something positive to tell you these people are the
[40:53]partners of Hub Soompi they're the exact opposite in any situation they
[41:01]exude negativity negative outlook negative attitude the American says these people are
[41:09]either the partners of Shaitaan or they're they're their tools that Shaitaan
[41:13]is using to dot could to cause destruction on others and that's
[41:17]the worst type of situation to end up with no one's immune
[41:21]my dear brothers and sisters no one's immune from this that's why
[41:25]the Quran says take him as an enemy don't feel safe and
[41:31]say you know I'm good you always have to be alert for
[41:33]this not to happen ask yourself what kind of influence do I
[41:36]have on people around me my parents my siblings my friends do
[41:42]I have a positive influence or no genuinely ask yourself then the
[41:48]Imam mentions the consequence of those who do fall for the whispers
[41:56]of Shaitaan vibhava well far Russia feels so do him what the
[42:01]Raja well what that bharata rajah feed you or him or fear
[42:04]hedorium the Amman Hani Salaam states those people who work with the
[42:14]Shaitaan he lays eggs in their chests and hearts and these eggs
[42:18]stay until they hatch and then the Shaitaan will creep and crawl
[42:24]in their lap just like a child does that in the lap
[42:30]of his mother what do we understand from this phrase once you
[42:35]open the door for Shaitaan it's a long-term project with him he
[42:42]doesn't leave you he will lay an egg in your heart this
[42:44]is of course symbolic don't take this you know literally it's figurative
[42:48]he lays an evil egg in your heart that evil egg will
[42:55]hatch and then slowly it starts creeping and crawling in in you
[43:00]in your lap just like a child have you seen a child
[43:05]that's so comfortable with his mother with its mother it feels safe
[43:10]with its mother that's the relationship some people develop with shape on
[43:14]they feel safe with evil anything that's evil resonates with them evil
[43:19]words evil sides anything that's Haram you see them being pulled towards
[43:25]it and in fact they find pleasure in it they feel safe
[43:31]with satanic paths but remember this doesn't have an opener overnight when
[43:35]the Imam tells us he lays an egg the Imam is reminding
[43:38]us don't think the Shaitaan overwhelms you instantaneously know it's a long
[43:44]process don't follow the steps of Shaitaan once you follow the first
[43:50]step the second step the third step that's what happens he lays
[43:53]an egg it hatches and then it becomes part of you the
[43:56]Shaitaan becomes your other side it's like he lives within you and
[44:04]that's really really dangerous so how does this shape on get away
[44:08]with them through West Wassa Allah and soliton ass talks about the
[44:12]role of the whispers what does what's what's an Arabic mean silent
[44:20]you know communication is called West wasn't so we call it a
[44:25]whisper in English one of the roles of Shaitaan is that he
[44:30]will throw evil thoughts in your mind sometimes if you feel this
[44:34]negative thought popping in your head that's the shade line who is
[44:39]using this trick in order to instill evil thoughts in your mind
[44:43]but he does it in a very subtle way where sometimes you
[44:49]think it's your idea you don't feel that an outsider is shoving
[44:53]these thoughts in your mind because he does it silently and subhanAllah
[44:59]Surat and Anais beautifully illustrates to us this point al imam al
[45:05]baqarah salam states when allah subhanaw taala revealed this verse in the
[45:11]holy quran when the DNA that father father shot and those who
[45:14]commit a big sin they remember allah subhana wa ta'ala and then
[45:19]they ask a lot to forgive their sins a beliefs lost hope
[45:22]he gathered all the shayateen and he told them look we're doomed
[45:29]because God has now given humanity a clear path to repentance even
[45:32]if they commit a major sin all they do is they repent
[45:38]and Allah will forgive them so we the Devils we've lost our
[45:41]cause how are we going to take these people to hell with
[45:46]us so he gathered the shayateen under him and he wanted some
[45:49]advice from them like a brainstorming session the first Shaitaan got up
[45:54]he gave his idea he didn't like it the second one the
[45:59]third one his name was Ann Lewis Watson Janus he got up
[46:07]and he said I have a trick I will whisper to them
[46:09]do this in do this in later repent later repent from it
[46:16]it's okay for you to commit this sin now you'll always have
[46:20]room to repent and then when the time for repentance comes I'll
[46:26]try to distract him so he forgets to repent so he'll commit
[46:29]the sin but he will not remember to truly repent from that
[46:35]sin Elias was fascinated with this idea he's like okay I assign
[46:37]you to go and whisper to human beings what does alchun ass
[46:42]mean we know what wash wash means the one who constantly whispers
[46:45]to you but what does can AskMe can ask comes from the
[46:53]word chance which means to retreat or go back he is the
[46:55]whisperer and the retriever who constantly retreats what is he retreating from
[47:03]the name of allah subhana wa ta'ala and the remembrance of allah
[47:09]whenever you remember Allah he quickly retreats whenever the name of Allah
[47:15]is mentioned he quickly retreats this is one quality of an wasps
[47:19]wasps Oksana's so yes he was spurs but he will retreat as
[47:25]well because the name of Allah is so powerful it kind of
[47:27]creates protection around you and remember when we say the name of
[47:30]Allah we don't just mean the smell ar-rahman ar-rahim subhanAllah it means
[47:35]remembering Allah in God conscious the moment you remember allah subhanaw taala
[47:40]the Shaitaan is pushed back because he has no authority on that
[47:43]which is connected to allah subhanaw taala now by the way surat
[47:52]an-nas phonetically even conveys the meaning of something that is silent can
[47:59]anyone remember how even the sounds of the surah communicates to you
[48:05]that the method and wash wash and Nass uses is very silent
[48:08]it's very subtle what's the most common letter that you visibly here
[48:16]in surah - nas the scene right the scene is a silent
[48:21]letter now read it this way you'll see how a less pannacotta
[48:23]even phonetically through the sounds of the recitation is reminding you that
[48:30]a Lewis Watson finesse is very subtle so bismillah r-rahman r-rahim allahu
[48:39]dhu dr ben ass Malika nos elanna's min Sharon was was--and an
[48:45]ass and let the us with Sufis surah Naas did you hear
[48:50]that it's all this as sound that silent mineral Jannetty oneness and
[48:59]that's how he operates even through the sounds of the surah allah
[49:03]is reminding us that it's very subtle beyond the lookout be very
[49:10]careful so this is what the Shaitaan does now how do we
[49:14]protect ourselves from that first is remembering Allah spano Tyla remembering just
[49:19]to remind yourself set up reminders for instance our last panel Tara
[49:25]states in the Holy Quran in the Lavina taco the pious ones
[49:31]what is it that distinguishes them from others it a mess sambar
[49:36]- mini Shaitaan when they are being attacked by not just one
[49:42]devil they are being attacked by a group of devils what do
[49:46]they do what's their weapon the karana is one word teducker and
[49:53]nel Idina taco and I'm a Sontaran min ash-shaytani tech guru they
[49:58]just remember they remember our last presence they remember the consequences of
[50:04]their sins and that's how they stay pious so we all know
[50:07]right from wrong most of us or most of that which is
[50:10]right and most of which is wrong we know it why do
[50:14]we keep falling into sins we forget we forget remind yourself set
[50:20]up reminders I even one brother was struggling with with a habit
[50:25]so I told him look on your smartphone just set up reminders
[50:29]why not you may find this silly but believe me it works
[50:32]set up reminders in the morning keep away from that just put
[50:37]a reminder on your iPhone at 8 a.m.
[50:38]let a pop-up come on your phone remember Allah is with you
[50:45]he's watching remember death one day will come to you do that
[50:47]do that on your smartphone you know how effective that is it's
[50:53]a reminder be creative or if you're a type of person who
[50:55]uses those sticky notes set up reminders for yourself tell your friends
[50:59]and family members to remind you remind one another that in itself
[51:06]is key to protect yourself from Shaitaan number two knowledge the more
[51:11]knowledge you have the more you'll be equipped to fight the Shaitaan
[51:15]that's why in Islam it's mandatory to seek knowledge seek knowledge from
[51:20]the cradle to the grave number three humbleness remember shape and failed
[51:26]in which test what is the first test that he failed in
[51:34]that prostration why didn't he not prostrate arrogance and jealousy realize that
[51:40]the majority of people are taken down by Shaitaan through arrogance and
[51:45]jealousy keep that in mind always work on your Neffs to be
[51:50]humble humble yourself sometimes you need to take drastic measures to humble
[51:56]yourself you have to step on your ego walk on your ego
[52:01]in a long story I'll mention it very briefly to scholars in
[52:08]Moraga they were having you know and a debate and nigev one
[52:12]of the scholars his evidence and his proofs that he was mentioning
[52:18]they were stronger than the other one so basically he kind of
[52:21]won the scholarly debate when they got up to leave they were
[52:26]farewelling one another that manager who was of a higher status higher
[52:29]social status when he was farewelling and saying you know saddam to
[52:34]the other media he got up quickly suddenly he took his hand
[52:40]and he kissed his hand this high-ranking merger took the hand of
[52:44]the lower ranking merger and he kissed his hand now this is
[52:49]shocking socially it's an inappropriate thing to do right it's not something
[52:54]that a merger would do to anyone else it's just the social
[52:57]structure of that society so he shocked everyone when the session was
[53:02]over the followers of that manager they came and they told him
[53:07]are you feeling well are you insane that something happened he's like
[53:11]why they're like you kissed his hand I mean what you did
[53:16]is inappropriate we know you you wanted to respect him but not
[53:19]like that that's like you know right now you fall on someone's
[53:21]feet and you kiss their feet it's inappropriate socially right maybe your
[53:26]mother okay you know that's fine but your friend you kiss his
[53:31]feet that's not something that is socially sanctioned he told them there
[53:35]was a reason why he did that I know exactly the concern
[53:38]that you have in your mind they told him what's the concern
[53:44]he said when I won the scholarly debate debate I felt my
[53:48]ego celebrating and I realized that was my test I felt good
[53:57]my ego was jubilant and I decided at that point that I
[54:01]need to crush this ego because if I let this ego and
[54:07]I give it freedom it's going to overtake me so I told
[54:13]my ego look you better calm down otherwise I'm going to do
[54:15]something that you won't like I'm gonna embarrass you but my ego
[54:18]disregarded me you know it was pushing me to even you know
[54:24]say more scholarly words in order to show that I want the
[54:26]debate I kept challenging my ego but my ego kept challenging me
[54:31]until I said to my ego I'll teach you a lesson so
[54:33]I got up and I kissed his hands to crush that ego
[54:37]and I told my ego if next time you try I'm gonna
[54:41]kiss his feet so my ego said no no no no no
[54:45]fellas I accept this now you might think this is a silly
[54:48]self conversation but he's get you was getting a point across my
[54:52]dear brothers and sisters Ted called me as you talk to yourself
[54:54]but you're not crazy if you talk to yourself you have to
[54:57]talk to yourself because when you talk to yourself you remind yourself
[55:03]you give yourself strength you give yourself confidence yeah don't do it
[55:06]in front of others they'll think you're crazy but do talk to
[55:10]yourself often it does wonders yes you have to crush that ego
[55:17]so the shaitaan through the ego he finds a way always remember
[55:21]Allah Spanish Allah when drinking when eating really say bismillah r-rahman r-rahim
[55:27]and invoke the remembrance of Allah the hadith states if you don't
[55:32]shave man will become a partner with you literally he will eat
[55:35]from the food that you eat would you eat from a food
[55:40]that a monster has touched would you these days you won't even
[55:43]drink from a cup that your brother has you know taking a
[55:48]sip from right you know this is our philosophy of hygiene these
[55:50]days you won't touch food that somebody has touched now imagine if
[55:53]this nasty smelly disgusting monster touches that food would you eat from
[56:01]it seriously when you don't save a lot of manna Rahim the
[56:04]Sheikh line is eating with you he eats from that food then
[56:08]you eat from it he drinks from what you drink he becomes
[56:10]your partner because you're distracted from Allah Spano tada and even more
[56:14]than that the Imam makes a reference to this we have many
[56:19]hadith the quran makes a reference to this you know those who
[56:21]have children if they're not mindful of a less panel to odda
[56:24]at conception Shaitaan becomes their partner too he comes their partner in
[56:31]that act and this has a negative influence on children these are
[56:34]always the Shetland finds a way to us the remembrance of Allah
[56:40]Spano tiara stops him that's right every act that you do in
[56:44]life remember Allah verbally and also mentally so let's continue with what
[56:48]the amount of these Saddam States he says when the Shaitaan lays
[56:52]an egg in their hearts what happens is that phenomena they are
[57:00]you knew him when not Aqaba else in it to him it's
[57:06]as if these satanic eggs when they hatch they develop into Satan's
[57:11]that become unified with this person penetrating their body parts the person
[57:17]kind of becomes like half human half satanic so their eyes your
[57:21]eyes becomes the eye of Shaitaan you start working for him your
[57:24]eye becomes tools for shape on your ears become tools for Shaitaan
[57:29]and that's the worst thing that can happen to a human being
[57:32]they give him their eyes and ears and it's just a free
[57:39]window for the Shaitaan to do what he wants imagine imagine this
[57:43]you're seeing on behalf of Shaitaan you're hearing on behalf of Shaitaan
[57:49]you're speaking on behalf of Shetland that's the natural consequence but for
[57:53]the believers we have the hadith that when you do good deeds
[57:56]especially the most ahaab acts in addition to the watch of Acts
[58:01]Allah says you become my eyes through which I see you become
[58:03]my ears the ears of Allah spanner Tejada because now you become
[58:07]God's representative you obey God so you work on behalf of allah
[58:13]subhanaw taala see see the other contrasting side of the image the
[58:17]final point that the imam mentions and this is an interesting discussion
[58:22]that scholars have for Akiba be him was Ellen he makes them
[58:29]commit mistakes was a yen Allah who won't happen let's stop at
[58:33]this last sentence and end with it what does the words Ani
[58:36]mean design well be more specific not just to design adorn embellish
[58:48]beautify all of this is called Zayin it comes from Xena okay
[58:52]what does couple mean couple means a very inappropriate deed an ugly
[58:59]mistake a sin what the Shaitaan does he beautifies the sin for
[59:07]you allah subhanaw taala in the holy quran mentions an interesting verse
[59:14]scholars have different interpretations about this verse and this sheds light on
[59:20]the role of Shaitaan what exactly does the devil beautify for you
[59:23]what is he embellish for you dunya no no you said dunya
[59:33]say why see that see this is this is a good answer
[59:43]the Shaitaan does not embellish dunya Allah created dunya Allah created the
[59:49]dunya appealing not Shaitaan the dunya is beautiful it has beautiful aspects
[59:54]Allah mentions in the holy quran giulianelli nasi abou shahe wat it
[60:00]has been embellished beautified adorned for people to love temptations and then
[60:07]Allah gives examples Menendez a woman question why does Allah say woman
[60:13]here when we know that this temptation is you know applies to
[60:16]both men and women why does a lot mention a woman Allah
[60:22]doesn't sailor child here he mentions woman right why only men have
[60:25]the Shia the temptation towards women or women also have that temptation
[60:29]why does the last single woman here what is he single out
[60:38]woman any ideas yes this is going on we need to know
[60:41]it yes brother so the temptation for men is greater do women
[60:48]agree with that or no do you all agree or any objections
[60:55]no because these days there are a lot of objections to the
[60:59]Quran and then you know there are I don't want to say
[61:04]feminists right but there are some who say well see the Quran
[61:06]is only shedding light on this aspect and it's disregarding other aspects
[61:11]no this is equal by men and women and especially those who
[61:16]try to negate the her job this is the argument well you
[61:19]say one reason why women wear hijab is because they're attractive to
[61:23]men and so Allah Spanish Anna wants them to be modest the
[61:27]same could be said about men why aren't they wearing the hijab
[61:29]the people are saying this in society today this is real these
[61:34]are real arguments so why does the last single out woman then
[61:38]what you said is true science and biology confirms that men they
[61:43]are more influenced by that attraction of women than women are women
[61:48]are influenced but men they're impacted by the visual more this Shawa
[61:55]makes men this temptation makes men sometimes commit the worst of sins
[61:59]look at look at the tragedies that happened in history a lot
[62:02]of times you find that a temptation of a woman was involved
[62:09]prophet jihadist and why was he massacred because of that lady the
[62:12]daughter of the Queen the daughter of the king it been more
[62:18]gem who's struck in a mile even a battalion bodies Saddam what
[62:21]was one of his motives the woman wrote on she had promised
[62:25]him that if you kill a demon have you thought about marry
[62:29]you she was a beautiful woman her father or her brother had
[62:32]been killed and one of the battles she they were from the
[62:37]how our edge who battled and even every thought about his Sunna
[62:39]so she promised him that if you kill I leave never thought
[62:43]of I'll marry you the Trojan War if you've read about the
[62:45]history of the Trojan War what was it sparked by right the
[62:51]princess so the Quran mentions this because in social affairs historically that
[62:57]has been an area where a lot of men have committed heinous
[63:01]crimes Zuri nanana hogwash our men Aneesa well bury children children are
[63:09]the beauty of our life well who made them beautiful well Canadian
[63:13]and Moo Panther I mean as they happy wealth of silver gold
[63:18]money that's beautiful has been adorned for us well Halen was a
[63:22]woman Kalyn wasalam are those horses basically mode of transportation in the
[63:27]back it was a horse today it's a car could be anything
[63:30]right well an army will have cattle and crops food these categories
[63:38]have been beautified for us children wealth transportation cars fancy cars and
[63:48]food now the Koran says Gianna Gianna and Arabic as a passive
[63:52]verb it has been made beautiful for you it has been adorned
[63:55]for you but who's the subject who's the one who decorated these
[64:01]things for us no come on doesn't mention in this verse but
[64:04]in other verses Allah mentions that we have made these beautiful so
[64:08]don't think that Shaitaan makes money appealing for you it is appealing
[64:12]Allah made it appealing Allah made you know children men and women
[64:18]money transportation food appealing Shaitaan does not make these categories appealing Allah
[64:25]makes them appealing because Allah created you with this temptation the temptation
[64:30]does not come from Shaitaan Allah created that temptation in you so
[64:35]what exactly then does the shape on embellish decorate what is he
[64:42]the act is embellished by Shaitaan misusing these categories the sin itself
[64:51]seems appealing that's what the Shaitaan does that's why in the moment
[64:56]when you're about to commit a sin you know it's wrong to
[65:01]send but in that moment do you see this the sin as
[65:06]ugly or does it seem appealing it seems appealing right there's that
[65:10]appeal to that appeal comes from the Shiva he makes the sin
[65:14]seem appealing the act he makes it appealing otherwise these categories they
[65:20]are already appealing a last part Allah made them appealing so he
[65:24]might not even have McCallum says was a nyan and the homework
[65:28]happened he makes inappropriate deeds seem appropriate how do you combat that
[65:33]how do you combat being in a situation like that how do
[65:36]you address it one very practical step when you're about to commit
[65:40]an action as sin imagine someone else doing that act imagine a
[65:48]friend your friend imagine someone in society committing the act which are
[65:54]about to commit will you see it favorably or it's reprehensible it's
[65:59]disturbing right imagine someone else doing this deed that's a beautiful internal
[66:09]way of knowing whether this sin itself is good or bad whether
[66:13]it's ugly or not try to imagine and visualize someone else committing
[66:17]that sin would you feel still attracted to the scent or it's
[66:24]appalling that's how you know think about it yes brother so the
[66:32]shape on the shape on he beautifies the sin for you but
[66:46]Allah has given you the intellect which beautifies resisting the sin but
[66:50]you have to see that see the intellect is overwhelmed by the
[66:54]desire that's why we mentioned remembering simply remembering and reminding yourself that
[67:01]this is inappropriate will empower your intellect to show you how beautiful
[67:08]it is to resist how beautiful it is to say no and
[67:10]sometimes you really feel it sometimes when you're on the edge but
[67:13]you say no the hadith says Allah will reveal the satisfaction in
[67:19]your heart allah subhanaw taala will reveal this pleasure in your heart
[67:23]that I said No there there is a beautiful line of poetry
[67:27]in in Farsi it says I got a letter Terrica Lisette bodoni
[67:37]if you know how sweet it is to avoid temptations you will
[67:44]never consider them to be sweet anymore think of that temptations are
[67:52]sweet they pull you there's a sweetness in them but if you
[67:55]taste the sweetness of saying no to that temptation you'll never consider
[68:03]those temptations to be sweet anymore and you will see how beautiful
[68:06]and sweet it is to say no challenge yourself sometimes say no
[68:13]and you will taste the sweetness of it so the shade line
[68:16]basically he decorates the sin for you imagine someone else doing that
[68:20]sin just picture someone doing that sin which you're about to do
[68:23]how would you view that person let that motivate you not to
[68:29]do it so in this short beautiful sermon the Imam and Islam
[68:33]highlights the role of Shaitaan in our lives and the amount is
[68:39]very clear don't give room for a beliefs the minute you give
[68:41]him room he will lay an egg in your heart these are
[68:45]the words of the commander of the faithful so what are your
[68:49]thoughts about this sermon do you have any questions about the sermon
[68:57]and we'll conclude inshallah yes brother the sweetness of resisting the sin
[69:02]see let's say there's a temptation right now the temptation is sweet
[69:06]that's why people are pulled towards it but once you teach yourself
[69:09]and you say no to that temptation this act of saying no
[69:15]will generate sweetness in your soul and in your mind where you
[69:20]feel this satisfaction from Allah the fact that you said no to
[69:24]sinning will feel sweet in your life because a lot of people
[69:26]think ok if I want to be religious and pious I'll have
[69:29]a miserable life I'm not enjoying anything in my life that's not
[69:31]true you will enjoy resisting the temptation it gives you strength that
[69:36]you will very sweet yes brother sermon means hotma which is a
[69:46]speech usually sermon is a religious speech so that's why we call
[69:49]these sermons because they have religious teachings so any speech that has
[69:54]a religious purpose is called the sermon in Arabic we taught we
[70:01]call it Kota which is just a speech yes brother that's a
[70:13]very good point if you feel proudly arrogant about saying no to
[70:18]the sin you've opened another window for shade line see it's very
[70:22]tricky because he works with arrogance so don't feel proud in the
[70:26]sense ah now you know I should feel proud I was able
[70:32]to say no to the sin and you feel good content safe
[70:37]and I'm better than other people I achieved it the way to
[70:40]handle that is I am thankful to Allah for giving me the
[70:45]strength to say no see attribute the favor to Allah not to
[70:48]your own self if it weren't for a lot guiding me I
[70:52]would have lost humble yourself teach that humbleness and still think and
[70:57]still don't think that you're better than others the hadith says the
[71:00]one who sins though the the sinner who repents with humbleness is
[71:08]better in the eyes of Allah than the one who doesn't sin
[71:11]but he's got pride imagine because that humbleness will eventually save you
[71:17]arrogance will eventually cause you to deviate from the path of Allah
[71:23]Spanos Allah so yes it's a fine line by the way not
[71:24]to discourage anyone from praying the midnight prayer but just sharing with
[71:29]you this hadith the hadith says sometimes a believer even though he
[71:33]makes the intention to pray the midnight prayer he'll skip it something
[71:38]happens you just don't pray it and he mama silent I described
[71:41]comments he says sometimes Allah will deny you the TEL fear for
[71:47]the success of praying the midnight prayer so you don't become proud
[71:49]and arrogant about it some people if for a week they pray
[71:54]the midnight prayer room they walk with pride I've been praying the
[71:58]midnight pray even if they don't say it to anyone but they
[72:00]talked to themselves an amount of side that says sometimes Allah sees
[72:03]you know this believer I don't really want him to go on
[72:07]that arrogant path so he'll be denied from praying the midnight prayer
[72:11]why so he stays humble keep that in mind that's interesting yes
[72:35]absolutely that's a very good question I also see we have some
[73:05]questions from the online viewers I'll get to your question in a
[73:07]minute so basically because Shaytan did worship Allah and Allah is so
[73:15]merciful and just allah subhanaw taala told him okay you have a
[73:18]balance with me right for thousands of years you worship me so
[73:21]ask what requests do you have and I'll fulfill it for you
[73:28]so he negotiated he says okay I want to stay until you
[73:30]owe me your bathroom until the day of judgment Allah said no
[73:34]not till the day of judgment till the fixed time which the
[73:37]hadith explains as the reappearance of element manager da-da-da-da-da forager so Allah
[73:44]gave him that extension to compensate him for his worship so that
[73:48]on the day of judgement he has no demands from God Allah
[73:52]says I gave you the reward of your worship in dunya so
[73:55]that's how Allah compensated him and that's how Allah compensates by the
[74:00]way every cow field every calf field if they did something good
[74:03]somehow Allah will compensate that person Allah will either reduce the punishment
[74:07]give him something in this world he will give him something now
[74:10]the other shayateen it seems the progeny of shaytans started after a
[74:17]beliefs so those others say athlean they were born right the jinn
[74:23]they are there from the jinn jinns are just like human beings
[74:26]Allah has given them the intellect to see right from wrong those
[74:29]who choose the path of goodness they're saved in surah telogen our
[74:35]last panel to Allah you know he captures the conversation of the
[74:38]jinns that they said some of us are good some of us
[74:42]are bad the bad ones the bad jinns are those when we
[74:47]consider the shayateen so they're born they grow up they hear the
[74:50]message from Allah spanner to Allah from the messengers whom they have
[74:52]and our prophet and the animates by the way our leaders for
[74:57]everyone for the humans and the jinn as well some of them
[75:00]decide to deviate some of them decide to stay truthful so the
[75:04]other shayateen they don't have the experience of Shaitaan where he worshiped
[75:08]God and then he evaded allah negotiated with him their experience is
[75:13]just like human beings they're born into this world they see how
[75:17]they see battle some of them end up being good some of
[75:22]them end up being bad so that that would be the situation
[75:27]for them does that answer the question yes we have a question
[75:31]from our online viewers can you unmute your mic and ask us
[75:35]yes I can hear you Salam aleikum I can't remember where that
[75:44]even your good deeds going off from your last point even your
[75:47]good deeds are owned by Allah because he guides you to them
[75:52]he gives you the faculties and then he guides you to that
[75:54]particular deed so she says even that I read even that he
[76:00]always but he does not own your sin because he does not
[76:02]you know guide you towards sinning so I just wanted to know
[76:06]what your thoughts were on that when when we have hadith or
[76:09]verses that indicate allah subhanaw taala owns your deeds it's just a
[76:14]reminder that God gave you the tools to achieve those good deeds
[76:22]so don't be arrogant and say okay I am the one who
[76:24]achieved these good deeds Allah will tell you okay how did you
[76:29]know that that's a good deed who gave you the intellect who
[76:31]gave you the wisdom who gave you the Quran who gave you
[76:36]the guidance I did so feel humble about it and know that
[76:39]you would not have achieved those good deeds without my blessings that's
[76:43]just a reminder for the human being that God is the one
[76:49]who guided me yes I made that intention I used my free
[76:52]will but the last panel - ah - help me so a
[76:55]last product either owns our good deeds now what about the bad
[76:58]deeds the sins we can we can also say that Allah Spanish
[77:07]Allah owns the bad deeds - in what sense and the sense
[77:10]that he gave you the tools to do bad right so if
[77:14]you take this basic definition of God owning our deeds Allah owns
[77:18]all deeds because he gave you the free will to do whatever
[77:24]you want that's why one verse and all the Quran states hua
[77:30]mata sha una Allah and Yoshi Allah which some pre determinists they
[77:33]consider this as proof that we human beings are predestined the class
[77:37]says everything you will is willed by Allah well how how was
[77:41]it world by Allah when I send that's world by Allah yes
[77:48]how Allah willed for me to have free will so when I
[77:51]use my free will it's by the permission of Allah and hence
[77:56]my will is his will and the sense that he's given me
[78:00]free will and he's allowed me to use my free will in
[78:04]that general sense we could also say Allah Spano tada even owns
[78:07]the sin but the difference between the good deeds and the bad
[78:12]deeds is that when it comes to their good deeds allah subhanaw
[78:15]taala yes he gives you the guidance you do the good deeds
[78:20]when it comes to the evil sins Allah has warned you about
[78:22]the evil sin Allah has discouraged your last old you don't commit
[78:25]these dudes these bats these bad deeds so Allah distances himself from
[78:33]bad deeds in that sense you're responsible for them Allah is not
[78:37]responsible for them Allah Spano Tara will tell you I warned you
[78:40]about the sin didn't I I warned you through your intellect through
[78:43]the path of guidance I warned you so the only reason why
[78:49]you committed that sin is because you chose to commit that sin
[78:51]I have nothing to do with it I warned you about it
[78:54]but when it comes to the good deed a last final town
[78:58]says I helped you do the good deed see a lot doesn't
[78:59]help you sin but he helps you do good deeds so that's
[79:04]kind of the difference between the good deeds and sins does that
[79:10]answer the question okay may allah subhanaw taala bless you all we
[79:15]conclude sermon number 7 and inshallah we'll continue next week or so
[79:20]Allahu Allah Sayyidina Muhammad Elliott ah hurry
