[1:07]in [Music] carala www.am Hussein charity.com [Music] [Music] Mahir [Music] [Music] alhamdulillah
[2:31][Music] m ald alhamdulillah The Sword without a doubt is the most
[3:49]famous sword in the history of the religion of Islam a sword
[3:54]that at one stage belonged to Muhammad and then was of course
[4:02]famously associated with IM Ali wherever you go in the world today
[4:06]you'll see that Muslims automatically recognize IR respective of whether you are
[4:12]sh or not sh there is a particular love and a particular
[4:18]admiration and a particular adoration for of course is sold worldwide many
[4:26]times you'll find people who may buy it in Rel Rel ation
[4:32]to a necklace or a pendant which they may gift some by
[4:38]the bigger replicas of thear which they place within their houses and
[4:42]at the same time you find of course that the name becomes
[4:46]the name which is always synonymous with IM Ali as in one
[4:51]only has to see for example that when the whole world was
[4:54]gripped by the series of the Turkish history and the ottoman EMP
[5:01]Empire known as Aral you found that right from the beginning there
[5:04]was this depiction of the sword as well as at the same
[5:10]time the lines that there is no youth but Ali and no
[5:19]sword but even for myself growing up arguably a scene that gave
[5:24]me Gru bumps was the first time that I watched the film
[5:29]The Message in Arabic of course everybody knows the film as film
[5:33]and in that film we saw very clearly how in the battles
[5:39]of the early part of the religion of Islam that some of
[5:45]the Bravest Warriors who were there were the likes of hamd IM
[5:52]amongst others and that famous scene that all of us have seen
[5:58]of the battle of bad where we see ham there introducing those
[6:01]who were with him he introduced IM on that day and the
[6:08]first scene that emerged was of course the scene of always is
[6:13]noticeable because of the way that it looks when you see the
[6:16]double edge towards the Tipping Point you see automatically that a person
[6:24]knows that this is however what is the history and significance of
[6:29]this sword while many people love there are very few who know
[6:33]about the origin ofar the development of the history of some also
[6:40]ask the question today that where isar because when you go to
[6:44]Istanbul and you go towards top cppy automatically you're told that this
[6:52]is the sword of IM Ali a person straight away while they're
[6:55]on holiday while they're doing the tourism sites automatically asks that is
[7:03]this really as in is this really the sword of IM Ali
[7:06]cuz you know worldwide wherever you go you'll always notice that whether
[7:11]you go to Turkey or you go to India or you go
[7:16]to Iraq or you go to Iran wherever you go there are
[7:21]always places that claim to have the relics of the prophets of
[7:23]Allah subhana wa taala or to have the relics of for example
[7:29]the aah of Allah so you go to India and they'll tell
[7:31]you that over here we have a chain that belongs to IM
[7:36]in Turkey they'll say to you that over here is the of
[7:45]IM Ali over here they'll tell you this is the hair of
[7:48]s Al here they'll tell you this is the turban of IM
[7:54]Ali wherever we go sometimes one asks the question that how many
[7:59]of these are reliable and authentic and how many are not and
[8:03]how did the sword of IM aliam get to EST stul obviously
[8:10]the Ottoman Empire without a doubt was one of the vastest empires
[8:15]in the Muslim world but does that automatically mean that they would
[8:20]have the relics of Al as well as the sword of IM
[8:25]Ali further than that does this sword have a mystical signific if
[8:32]an or not because in the eyes of some a sword is
[8:37]a sword Al could have had a sword maybe Allah had maybe
[8:40]more than seven swords in fact throughout his life a sword is
[8:44]a sword there doesn't need to be a mystical significance whether it's
[8:47]the sword of or the sword of any other companion but the
[8:53]reality is that when a person looks at this particular sword this
[8:56]sword has a mention in a number of the hisorical works if
[9:03]I go to I see a discussion on if I go to
[9:11]the of I see a discussion on if I go to I
[9:19]see a discussion on if I go to there's a discussion on
[9:25]if I go Tob there's a discussion on let alone the sh
[9:27]literature where if a person goes into Al of there is a
[9:35]discussion of therefore wasn't an ordinary sword that history did not want
[9:39]to open up about on the contrary represented a period of Bravery
[9:46]honor dignity whether it was in the hands of or in the
[9:56]hands of IM but were we to examine the history of this
[10:00]sword a number of important points emerge and notably Above All Else
[10:07]the sacrifices of IM in Islam's most difficult moments because whenever anyone
[10:15]hears about then automatically a person thinks that this is the sword
[10:19]of Ali but why would it become famous when thousands of other
[10:22]Companions of Ras s alai they all had swords why in particular
[10:29]the sword of Ali would become a sword that everyone would remember
[10:33]there are others who have gone to battles with others who went
[10:41]to others who went to Wars but you never hear others whose
[10:47]swords are mentioned alongside their names but when it comes to automatically
[10:53]It's associated with IM Ali let us tonight examine the history and
[10:59]the origin of and I'd like to do this in the following
[11:05]stages number one what is the meaning of or and how does
[11:11]it have a relation to the meaning for the word poor in
[11:18]the Arabic language number two when it comes to Sunni literature what
[11:23]is the opinion about the origin of are in agreement about and
[11:31]its origin or not number three how important are the armaments and
[11:39]the armers and the swords and the Rings and the sticks of
[11:42]the prophets of Allah subhah wa ta'ala and what mystical Dimension do
[11:47]they carry and which opinion is given that one prophet of Allah
[11:51]subhana wa ta'ala received this as a gift from a particular royal
[11:59]family way before alai then after that what happened on the day
[12:02]of bad and then the day of and how is it that
[12:07]J himself commented about the exploits of IM on the day of
[12:18]where the companions ran away and IM remained with s number five
[12:25]when it comes to this did it remain with IM Ali and
[12:31]what happened when he died did it move on to imass number
[12:35]six did IM Hussein use or not number seven what is the
[12:40]relationship between and IM when he was asked about number eight how
[12:52]isar related to the IM of our time and how important is
[12:55]it for us to understand its position in relation to the Imam
[13:00]of our time let's examine this and dissect the topic in complete
[13:05]depth many people when they see they're Enchanted by it many want
[13:10]to wear a necklace of it many want to place it on
[13:15]their wall but if you ask many what does actually mean you'll
[13:19]find that many are not actually able to give you a definition
[13:22]if you look at the word or the title with the couple
[13:29]of words associated with with it you'll see that a number of
[13:33]opinions have emerged as to the meaning if you look in the
[13:39]Arabic language the word for the spinal cord is what if you
[13:41]ask any of the Arabs about their spinal cord they'll say to
[13:46]you that it is known as the spinal cord the vertebrae in
[13:53]the spinal cord are known as so if you've got the spinal
[13:57]cord you imagine the spinal cord is known as the and the
[14:01]vertebrae on the spinal cord are known as you notice here therefore
[14:09]that there is a relationship between the shape of that spine and
[14:14]the shape of the vertebrae in relation to the title why because
[14:21]one opinion that's given is that when im was asked about why
[14:26]it's got this title he said because it's slight it has that
[14:32]spine going down the middle of it if you look at imagine
[14:34]in the normal way that we think of the depiction of and
[14:40]of course that particular depiction that we have today may not be
[14:43]the exact one but one opinion is that there is a small
[14:48]line in the middle of that sword even if you imagine as
[14:52]you imagine that sword it seems that right in the middle there
[14:55]seems to be what is like a spine a l line right
[15:00]down cut through the middle one opinion therefore was in the same
[15:04]way you have likewise there is that spine shape in the middle
[15:10]of the sword a second opinion was no more related to the
[15:13]vertebrae in the spine that maybe the sword was a sword that
[15:20]was like any other sword but it might have had for example
[15:23]on top of the sword or within the middle of the sword
[15:28]there may have been what looked like like similar to the shape
[15:31]of the vertebrae on the spinal cord and that's why you find
[15:37]that when you come to examining what is the word for poor
[15:41]in Arabic when someone is poor in Arabic he is known as
[15:47]fak why is he known as fak because the spinal cord of
[15:50]this person because of their poverty it's like it's become hunched their
[15:57]back it's as if it's a heavy load on their spine notice
[16:00]that in the Arabic language sometimes the word m is used sometimes
[16:06]the word both of them indicate that within the body of the
[16:12]human being there's a certain amount of pressure that they're not able
[16:16]to take either sometimes you'll find that the spine because of the
[16:21]heavy load that you have to carry or because of the burden
[16:25]that you carry burden can be both metaphorical and literal literally because
[16:29]I'm poor I find that I may have to carry certain things
[16:35]to earn metaphorically the burden of the people around me is what
[16:39]I have to carry true a person when they are poor they
[16:44]in many cases have to carry a burden sometimes embarrassment sometimes begging
[16:48]sometimes asking that has an effect metaphorically as if their spine is
[16:53]breaking because that person does not have that back where they are
[16:59]able to walk around which strength because poverty has affected them what
[17:04]do we call them whenever you see anyone poor you think of
[17:08]the word think of the spinal cord of the human being think
[17:11]of the spine and how that person's spine he may have no
[17:16]spine because his family may have neglected him the community may have
[17:19]neglected him and hence the word in Arabic was therefore the first
[17:24]opinion was think of the spine and then think of that shape
[17:27]through the sword the second second opinion was think of the vertebrae
[17:31]on the spine and then think of that image on top of
[17:37]the sword another opinion which was given was that the opinion of
[17:41]the two Bobs on the sword another opinion was the opinion of
[17:45]the two edges on the sword most of the time whenever a
[17:50]person imagines the look ofar what do they imagine they imagine that
[17:54]there is this two edges for what reason the reason being on
[17:59]the one hand and if I am fighting my enemy I can
[18:05]trap their sword in the middle of my sword Imam a number
[18:08]of times in his battles he's able to put the sword of
[18:14]his enemies between his sword and then he's got both swords in
[18:17]his arms and then he looks at his enemy at that moment
[18:21]another opinion was that no that yes that is there with the
[18:26]double edge but that doesn't necessarily mean that that's the sword looks
[18:30]like there is an opinion that the sword looked like the swords
[18:33]of Y and that the sword that we have the look that
[18:37]we have today is not exactly the same look as was there
[18:43]in what is the arms of IM Ali or irrespective IM gives
[18:48]another opinion Imam when he's asked about or sometimes people pronounce it
[18:55]as or IM was asked he looked at that word and said
[19:04]in the same way that this sword is a separator quite literally
[19:10]when it goes through someone's body metaphorically as well it separates the
[19:15]enemy from their family in this world and separates them from heaven
[19:22]in the Hereafter because anyone who's going to fight whoever possesses whether
[19:27]it's or whether it's IM Ali whoever's going to fight is going
[19:35]to be an enemy it's going to be one of the disbelievers
[19:39]the polytheist of qur the aristocrats the Nobles of the enemies of
[19:42]IM says imagine it as the separator the separator meaning what meaning
[19:51]that it separates that person from their family or it separates them
[19:56]from the people of Heaven for they go towards hell therefore taking
[20:00]all of these opinions on board at the end of the day
[20:03]when we come to looking at the Sunni literature on this no
[20:09]doubt as I mentioned is mentioned within Sunni books the Sunni literature
[20:15]could not cover at the end of the dayar was seen as
[20:19]the most famous of all swords if you look within Sunni literature
[20:23]what do you find in Sunni literature you'll see that there's a
[20:27]couple of opinions that emerge one school of the Sunni World said
[20:34]that this was a sword that wasn't a Heavenly sword in anyway
[20:38]this was a sword that belonged to one of the qur by
[20:44]the name of or two different opinions which are given they say
[20:51]that this was one of the people who was in the opposition
[20:56]in the Battle of badar if you look for example IB Ma
[20:59]mentions that in the Battle of bad part of The Spoils of
[21:04]the booty from the opposition when the Muslims had defeated the opposition
[21:08]part of the booty was what was go today to one of
[21:15]the sah works like we've been examining this whole month you'll see
[21:18]that IB ma says that this was from The Spoils of the
[21:25]battle of better belonged to who belonged to Al was killed by
[21:31]who was killed by IM in the Battle of bad when im
[21:38]Ali killed him IM bought the sword to and you found that
[21:43]this was the Sunni opinion that was given that what that when
[21:47]it was given to Al kept it until when died it was
[21:55]passed on to who it was passed on to Imam Ali in
[22:02]the Sunni world no one denies that was passed from to IM
[22:08]Ali no one denies this but they limit the dimension of the
[22:15]to not being something mystical or spiritual simply Spoils of War and
[22:21]from these Spoils of War IB ma mentions that it was given
[22:24]tool Allah Allah gives it to IM Ali but that not to
[22:30]be generalized for the whole Sunni World why sometimes when a person
[22:34]sees members of the Sunni community in Pakistan or in turkey or
[22:37]elsewhere they have a love for a reverence for it is symbolic
[22:44]for them whether in art or calligraphy so why do they get
[22:48]that idea because in other areas of Sunni literature how is mentioned
[22:57]all of these when you examine them they give a more mystical
[23:04]Dimension to the than simply being the booty of War what do
[23:08]I mean we know very well that there are certain artifacts there
[23:12]are certain armaments there are certain areas of that which was the
[23:20]relics of the prophets of Allah which belonged to them we know
[23:23]very well that they have a mystical Dimension I ask you normally
[23:28]a staff a staff or a stick that you stand on or
[23:30]you use for walking normally what's so special about it it's just
[23:34]the stuff when Moses when his stuff becomes magic what happens to
[23:40]that staff that staff automatically becomes something that has a mystical element
[23:46]related to it automatically what otherwise is a normal stick or staff
[23:51]that I may walk around with I may graze with I may
[23:57]use to help support me but when Moses puts down that stuff
[24:02]and you have a number of things that happen on the one
[24:05]hand you have for example it becoming the snake and that snake
[24:11]defeats what it defeats The Magicians of far on the other hand
[24:15]the Red Sea opens up so that the children of Israel are
[24:21]able to cross that stuff any other place in the world would
[24:24]be just a noral stick no one would bat an eyelid but
[24:31]because Moses touched it automatically there is a special spiritual mystical significance
[24:35]to it a ring you look at a ring for example a
[24:41]ring is something normal basic people wear it in all cultures but
[24:46]when wears a ring it's a completely different story IM says the
[24:55]whole Authority and Kingdom of neam was in his ring his ring
[24:59]the moment he would wear it the Gins and the birds all
[25:06]types of animals would automatically be under his authority as if they
[25:10]were the microcosm of the macrocosm of the authority of Allah subhana
[25:15]wa tala you look at we's a ring that ring becomes different
[25:21]to anyone else holds a stuff it becomes different to anyone else
[25:26]W when you do W your water drops are normal but when
[25:31]Al does with water you see the companions at which mystified where
[25:40]they saw companions jumping to have the water that touched therefore when
[25:47]a person has artifacts like a staff like a ring of a
[25:50]prophet of Allah subhana wa taala it highlights that there are certain
[25:55]artifacts that have a mystical element and that's why even in Shia
[26:02]thought we believe that these artifacts whether they belong toan and the
[26:08]ring whether they belong to M and his staff on the one
[26:10]hand a number of these were kept in the tab you all
[26:15]know the taboot is Sak and the story of David and Goliath
[26:20]and the children of Israel that taboot you all know what the
[26:23]taboot is like that box that taboot which we associate today with
[26:26]janaza and a coffin that Tabo why was it important for the
[26:32]children of Israel because that taboot was a source of a source
[26:36]of guidance a source of spirituality they while they looked after that
[26:41]taboot inside it was the Stick of Moses inside it was what
[26:46]else inside it at the same time was also the Ring of
[26:48]suan and other artifact when the children of Israel neglected these things
[26:53]then they were in the wilderness therefore for us in of our
[27:02]imams mention very clearly that number one IM inherited a number of
[27:13]things from the gray mule of IM inherited what else did he
[27:22]inherit the saddle of Al what else did he inherit the sword
[27:26]of s alai what else did he inherit the coat of mail
[27:32]of all of these IM inherited from not any other companion nobody
[27:42]else why because as IM says when he talks about how the
[27:47]imams inherit these he says theah the Armament the armor that we
[27:52]the imams inherit are for us like the taboot of bani is
[27:58]you want to know who is the lead of after then look
[28:03]at who has inherited the armor of those who have come in
[28:08]the past who has inherited the ring ofan the turban of the
[28:12]armor and the coat of male of who has inherited the staff
[28:17]of M and that's why we believe IM the when he returns
[28:23]that staff of Moses will speak against those who doubt him from
[28:27]the children of Israel why why because those are not just weapons
[28:33]those are weapons that have touched the prophets of Allah subhana wa
[28:37]tala and hence you have a second opinion which is what which
[28:39]is that the Queen of Sheba gifted to that's the second opinion
[28:48]that the Queen of Sheba gifted to the prophets inherit and they
[28:53]inherit the tabot that Holy Grail which some people in the Middle
[28:57]East are thinking more about than anything when they dig into the
[29:03]temples there are many who want that tab Sak of David and
[29:05]Solomon there are many who are digging under the Earth in Jerusalem
[29:11]in Palestine all of these areas what looking for what looking for
[29:15]this taboot because they know within it there is guidance there is
[29:18]wisdom there is knowledge there is a relation to the mystical Dimension
[29:21]and know one thing my dear brothers and sisters shiaism Remains the
[29:26]school in Islam that Contin the mystical Legacy of the prophets of
[29:30]Allah subhana tala when you go to other schools of Islam after
[29:36]dies becomes Arab caliphs and Arab kingdoms Arabs with Arabs fighting Arabs
[29:42]conquering Arabs conquering other lands whereas shm the legacy of Moses and
[29:47]suan and their armor and their artifacts and their armaments remains with
[29:53]the imams of Muhammad andam so IM and others in Ali go
[29:59]to look at the section on the armor the armaments the artifacts
[30:05]that were inherited by the imams from did the imams just inherit
[30:11]these because what because I've got a stick at home and a
[30:13]ring at home and a turban at home and no the imam's
[30:18]inherited that which has a mystical Dimension that which can speak that
[30:23]which is able to defeat Empires just through touching it just through
[30:28]wearing it just through holding it so therefore you found that that
[30:32]was another opinion but then and and and within our literature that
[30:42]the greatest moment that occurs with was where was in the Battle
[30:50]of you see sometimes people say that was given to they say
[30:55]some try to put forward like in the film the mess mess
[31:00]that IM Ali was already in possession of in the Battle of
[31:04]bad others said no this is not historically accurate if it was
[31:11]with could have given it to IM Al at bad but more
[31:16]famously if it is from The Spoils of bad let's say the
[31:21]Sunni side tried to go towards which opinion they tried to go
[31:23]towards the opinion that this is just from the spoils that had
[31:25]belonged to randoms no for us on the contrary [Applause] ferocious warriors
[32:30]were in the battlefield they thought you know what we destroyed the
[32:35]opposition at bad now it's us guys are stuck on the mountain
[32:38]those guys are going to achieve Victory there's all this booty and
[32:43]Spoils of War and armors and Shields and swords cuz you know
[32:46]not all Al's companions had gone to battle with the pure some
[32:51]had gone either cuz they hated the opposition others had gone to
[32:55]collect The Spoils of War was there on the top of and
[33:04]he loved he said loves us but he made clear abdah others
[33:07]do not leave this mountain one of the leaders of the opposition
[33:13]on that day he said he'll come around and he'll attack when
[33:17]in the middle of the battle you all know the story in
[33:22]the middle of the battle two things happened ham uncle ofi got
[33:30]killed by the Spear of also got killed when got killed the
[33:36]shout went Muhammad is dead why because some said that looked like
[33:42]that moment some companions were like even if alai is dead Islam
[33:50]remains alive we have to keep fighting others began to run away
[33:52]from the battle I don't want to look at Hadith let's just
[33:54]look at the Quran in the Quran inah Alan all of you
[33:59]know the vers is muhamed is but a messenger of Allah and
[34:13]Messengers have come before him if he dies or rather he is
[34:20]killed all of you turn back on you your heels you companions
[34:23]who are meant to be loyal to him all of a sudden
[34:27]you hear the cry that he's died you run away from the
[34:29]battlefield when they ran away became so angry why number one the
[34:38]disloyalty of those who had stabbed him in the back and who
[34:44]had run away number two not listening to his orders number three
[34:47]Allah found himself on the mountain of fighting against those who were
[34:52]coming against him you have some schools of Islam who try and
[34:56]report that his teeth were broken and that he had been attacked
[34:58]that's an opinion of certain schools although no one was as Brave
[35:02]as but who was with him on that day IM Al imali
[35:09]noticing people running away I'm telling you him and a few others
[35:15]not more than three4 had gone to the mountain of to protect
[35:20]remember one thing that it was around that time it was coming
[35:26]to a year of the anniversary of his wedding to imagine your
[35:33]oneye anniversary when im had offered at that time for his Mahar
[35:37]when the prophet asked him what do you want to give for
[35:38]the Mahar and IM had turned around toah Al and said to
[35:44]him that I could give my shield or I could give my
[35:48]sword or I could give for example my horse at that time
[35:53]had told him keep your sword for the defense of the religion
[35:55]of Islam yes that time why did tell don't give your sword
[36:02]as Mah as dowy for the for the wedding of because they'll
[36:06]be a day like this a day where you carry that sword
[36:12]with the best of ways and what a devastating performance my dear
[36:15]brothers and sisters understand one thing to be alone on that mountain
[36:18]and to have all of these come towards you cuz you know
[36:23]on that day Imam pierced through the opposition army they feared him
[36:27]more than they feared anyone else this one particular tribe benu ABD
[36:31]if I not mistaken they were the ones protecting they were the
[36:36]flag bearers one by one each brother he killed him Seven Brothers
[36:40]he finished them all off they came to the top of the
[36:41]mountain imagine with IM Ali those who were called later the best
[36:49]Companions and God knows I don't know where they are in these
[36:51]battles I don't know who's where I don't know who's run away
[36:56]where you do your research and you'll see who remained loyal even
[37:01]a lady remained more loyal tool Al than some of those who
[37:03]held positions in Islam that lady came IM was there defending in
[37:13]every way whatsoever and J and the other Angels were watching in
[37:20]awe yes you know it doesn't surprise me when people look at
[37:26]you all knowah when Allah subh 57: 25 when he says this
[37:39]iron that Allah has sent down that iron they say metaphorically that
[37:45]refers to what that is that Allah sent as one of the
[37:54]of this ay that was that sword that Allah had sent to
[37:58]make sure that it benefited mankind yes it wasn't just to be
[38:03]taken as oh Allah no no rather it was that there is
[38:10]a particular sword that will benefit people in the most unbelievable way
[38:17]on that day in looks and he tells what an unbelievable show
[38:27]of devotion from the son of Abu the while all others claim
[38:31]to love where are their swords when he's alone on the mountain
[38:34]one's running this way the others running that way you found IM
[38:39]was in a and what did he say he said very clearly
[38:49]that he is from me and I am from him imagine that
[38:56]Ali imagine those lines Ali is from me and I am from
[39:03]him how many times does have to repeat to the um that
[39:08]these are from me and I am from them Hussein is from
[39:13]me and I am from him and imagine J says and I
[39:19]am with the both of you and then the Traditions mention that
[39:27]looks up and he hears a call saying what there is no
[39:40]there is no youth but Ali no chivalrous youth of phot of
[39:43]chivalry like and there is no sword but those lines remained etched
[39:54]on that day in and that's why while ma mentions as he
[39:56]tries to point that that this is just from The Spoils of
[40:00]talks about a vision related to no one could deny that on
[40:08]that day in that there was a call that had come out
[40:14]sometimes people say sometimes in theth the other way around there is
[40:23]no SW and there is no shiv chalous youth like IM Ali
[40:27]on that day by the how old was he how old on
[40:30]the day of IM on that day was coming to his 25th
[40:35]birthday we're not talking about someone his 50s no no those in
[40:38]their 50s one was running one way and the other was running
[40:40]another whereas the one in his mid 20s he had sacrificed his
[40:46]life on that day and made it clear the heavens were looking
[40:49]at his strike the heavens were looking at his bravery you know
[40:57]when it says doesn't mean there's no one of its meanings is
[41:04]Young another is the chivalrous one who at a young age has
[41:08]the composite of all virtues in one human being dignity honor perseverance
[41:14]patience bravery Valor fortitude sacrifice for the religion of Islam how dare
[41:22]people compare how dare they compare a man who gives his life
[41:28]away to on that mountain of whereas others are running left right
[41:35]and Center and they have to make excuses for those others otherwise
[41:40]the Paradigm becomes a problem the framework becomes a problem so what
[41:43]are the excuses well you know it's not just about how many
[41:45]you killed Allah didn't kill many so it's not just about how
[41:49]many you killed come on give me a break I thought you'd
[41:51]be better than that come onas Allah didn't kill many therefore if
[41:57]others didn't kill many or they're not known for their exploits are
[42:00]you saying Allah is not brave you throw under the bus so
[42:05]that you protect others and that's why it's no surprise that that
[42:13]day of belonged to him as IM would mention in his I
[42:18]am the son of the man who fought at and why number
[42:24]one was a victory or stopped the victory of hind mu's mother
[42:30]against because of the combination and the teamwork and the jeo that
[42:36]was and imagine Ali is from me and I am from him
[42:43]and JB says and I am with the both of you I
[42:47]am from the both of you imagine that Triumph it J what
[42:53]do they all have in common number one they're all chosen by
[42:58]Allah number two they have never bowed down to an idol they
[43:01]didn't need to be brought up in a world where their families
[43:06]were all Idol worshippers and the worst of qur there was the
[43:09]purity of a line from Allah subhana waala and that's why like
[43:17]we said on that day on the day of you all read
[43:26]the the strike of Ali on the day of the strike of
[43:33]Ali at the strike of Ali at but then just in case
[43:38]someone wants to tell me anyone could have done it it wasn't
[43:40]just Ali then you come to and you look at when you
[43:47]see him in you see he's playing it's just enjoyable for him
[43:52]of course he couldn't be at the Battle he had an eye
[43:56]infection says that I will give the banner to a man Allah
[44:02]and me love him and he loves me and Allah why does
[44:07]he say that because everyone can claim they love Allah and the
[44:12]prophet but when says I'm going to give the banner to that
[44:15]man that's the indication that I know which ones of you are
[44:21]truly the ones who love me and Allah and which are the
[44:24]Hypocrites in reality amongst you you look at that battle of IM
[44:28]Ali had an eye infection therefore he could not fight so when
[44:31]Allah said that everyone was wondering is it me is it me
[44:36]and the hadiths are clear that everybody had tried to conquer Abu
[44:40]Bakr had tried no point Omar had tried nowhere near everybody else
[44:44]tried no one could conquer and the others The Fortress of the
[44:49]Jews at no one could come near who is it that comes
[44:54]near who is it in reality it's one man and one man
[44:58]alone but then someone asked but he had an eyee infection he
[45:01]couldn't and that's why when Al said that I'm going to give
[45:04]the manner to a man Allah and me love him and he
[45:07]loves me and Allah people thought who is it is it me
[45:10]is it me is it me can't be Ali cuz he's not
[45:12]going to fight he's got an ey infection Al said bring Ali
[45:18]to me when IMI was bought to S took the saliva and
[45:24]he placed it in the eye of IM aliam IM said after
[45:30]that day I did not see like when did that to me
[45:33]imagine if his vision half full can destroy the opposition what if
[45:40]he has the best eyesight he went out and when he went
[45:43]out on that battle imagine the scene my dear brothers and sisters
[45:47]in one hand and the for of another and W only a
[45:53]hater of Talib cannot appreciate such things there are many non in
[45:56]the world who love MOA many adore him but you'll always find
[46:01]non Shia who also cannot stand his merits they'll look to do
[46:04]anything to try and reject his merits here and there so what
[46:10]happens is that IM comes forward and you all know the lines
[46:16]when im Ali comes forward and what did he say made it
[46:29]clear that I'm the one whose mother named him what because marab
[46:35]had seen in his dream that a lion would kill him so
[46:36]marhab thinking why do I see a dream I'm The Greatest Warrior
[46:41]of the Jews I've seen a dream that a lion will kill
[46:43]me and the Imam came out on the battlefield and said I'm
[46:48]the one whose mother named him haar in Arabic there are different
[46:52]words for lion Assad is lion La is lion all of these
[46:58]you will see are all different words for lion haar is lion
[47:01]you go to all of these are different types of lions the
[47:06]lion the Ferocious State the lion who's going to destroy you who's
[47:09]going to rip you apart the lion who's ready he said I'm
[47:14]the one whose mother named him but then he went on to
[47:31]bring the word somewhere in those lines of poetry I'll strike you
[47:42]a strike whatever spine you have whatever vertebrae you have it'll destroy
[47:47]it inside out and imagine you're in the opposition and you hear
[47:51]him say you know that you're going to be destroyed you're going
[47:58]to be separated slashed one way or the other that with was
[48:03]the Perfect combo you'll ever see they never in their life were
[48:08]defeated on the battlefield no one could come near them and that's
[48:11]why on the day of jaml against he was proud to use
[48:15]he was proud to use it against and because we remain Ali
[48:22]on that day we know very well that aa's army of and
[48:25]their lovers remain today there's no doubt they have to protect the
[48:31]woman and the companions that their life story but Ali on that
[48:34]day we are behind the man who held who you had to
[48:38]go back gring with with your head down seeking forgiveness for the
[48:42]FNA that you caused in Islam and the same man at the
[48:47]MUA come here let me do to you what I did to
[48:47]your grandfather at B I'll destroy you the same way have you
[48:53]forgotten Abul Hassan and have you forgotten what I do with my
[48:56]sword no one can come near him on the battlefield however many
[49:02]others you try to bring and that's why people ask the question
[49:05]that that sword of his did it remain with him yes it
[49:09]remained with him until he died then it gets passed from IM
[49:15]to IM from IM to IM first question IM Hussein did he
[49:23]have yes he did did he use it inala no he left
[49:25]with the other possessions of the hashimites with his brother Muhammad because
[49:31]he knew these people would loot for goodness sake look what they
[49:34]did to his body on the plains ofala then it was passed
[49:39]on to was asked about he said yes it's an our possession
[49:45]and it gets passed on from one IM to another it's a
[49:50]sign of the IM that the Imam has and then from IM
[49:57]IM imar we reject this idea that it went to the lines
[50:03]and then to the we reject the idea that it's in top
[50:07]capy Museum in estambul with all our respect for those who live
[50:09]in turkey and who may admire and have their museums for tourism
[50:14]our reading is that that remained with the imams an important Point
[50:21]here many sh we love to have the necklace ofar some went
[50:25]to the direction of having a tattoo of dfar others out of
[50:29]their adoration have it at home it is more important that we
[50:35]embody the metaphorical lessons from that sword than just have it stuck
[50:39]on our chests or on our necklaces yes as an identifier I
[50:42]love seeing someone who's wearing or has one at home but I'd
[50:48]rather see that that person has The Bravery of IM the honor
[50:52]and the Dignity of IM the of the IM the patience of
[50:57]the IM the forbearing of the IM that is when a person
[51:04]entrenches if I am someone who has on my neck and I
[51:08]am not ready to be of those who praise Salah then what's
[51:13]the point of having this necklace and I don't even pray I
[51:16]am someone who has the but I drink that which should not
[51:21]be drunk eat that which shouldn't be eaten then what's the point
[51:24]then I have not and that why understood the significance of that
[51:27]that in one way if I am not someone who is ready
[51:32]to be proud of their and is always hiding then how am
[51:37]I honoring the man who was proud to say that he was
[51:41]on that path and his companions were always loyal to him it's
[51:44]a shame when you see people who know but have hardly picked
[51:53]up in their year or in their lives to read some of
[51:55]the maxims of IM reality is that I also want to look
[52:03]did IM Ali look after the orphans yes he did have I
[52:04]ever looked after an orphan did IM disseminate knowledge have I sponsored
[52:08]that knowledge the reality is is a symbol for us to never
[52:17]forget the principles of IM whatever principles he left behind for us
[52:22]it was vital for us to try and look at that sword
[52:25]all the time and say I want to live up to your
[52:29]message and to your criteria and to your standard for you are
[52:31]man who in terms of fighting the oppressor you are the first
[52:36]to stand up but at the same time you are a man
[52:40]of unbelievable bravery you are a man if there was others in
[52:43]the opposition didn't matter who they were if they were ready to
[52:45]fight you and your sh you decimated them but at the same
[52:50]time your heart was the softest heart you know that sometimes they
[52:53]say that when someone fought him one-on-one and if his if we
[52:56]were to take that idea of the shape that we see today
[53:00]if it trapped the other person's sword then the person would look
[53:03]at him and he'd say Ali says yes imagine he's got his
[53:07]sword and and he looks at says and imagine he looks at
[53:09]the Imam knowing the Imam has both swords and he says to
[53:14]him they say you never reject when someone asks you Imam says
[53:16]tell me he said give me my sword back Imam throws him
[53:21]his sword back the person says I want to join your side
[53:25]he said no don't say my side say the side of Truth
[53:29]and Justice IM was not a bloodthirsty man but rather that Sword
[53:33]and the wealth of Khadijah were there to serve Islam to protect
[53:37]Islam Jam saan Imam had made clear that's not us who want
[53:44]to go out and fight wants to fight us wants to fight
[53:48]us Zu wants to fight us mu wants to fight us wants
[53:52]to fight us these are the ones who want to fight us
[53:54]we are ready to defend ourselves otherwise we don't just pick up
[53:57]a sword willy-nilly going around killing people that is not the ethos
[54:04]of IM Al Talib rather his ethos was that even the man
[54:07]who struck me if his one strike with his sword kills me
[54:13]then you only kill him with one strike others could have easily
[54:17]turned around and said that that man they could have easily said
[54:24]that make sure that you mutilate his body this is my cut
[54:28]him up into pieces no says oh my son that if that
[54:33]person's one strike with his sword happens to kill me and I
[54:39]die then you only strike him with one strike Imam wanted to
[54:42]highlight that at the end of the day Justice will remain even
[54:45]after I pass away imagine for us we never met him and
[54:51]yet we break down when we remember such principles and such sacrifice
[54:56]imagine then those who met the Imam imagine those who were alongside
[55:01]the Imam around the Imam On A Night Like This Night 21
[55:06]of the holy month of Ramadan is one of the most difficult
[55:09]nights and that's why the Imam had turned around to all those
[55:14]around him from his family from his companions he began to bid
[55:17]each one of them farewell One By One The Imam began to
[55:22]bid them farewell he asked each and every one of them he
[55:24]said to each and every one of them that make sure that
[55:29]I advise you my dear children sons of ABD mutb be conscious
[55:33]of Allah steadfast in your religion don't yearn for this world and
[55:38]nor should you be seduced by it oppose the oppressor support the
[55:45]oppressed don't resent anything that you've missed in it reconcile your differences
[55:49]strengthen your ties for reconciliation of differences is greater than that recommended
[55:54]prayer or fast then you find that after that he would tell
[56:00]them fear Allah in relation to the orphans fear Allah in relation
[56:06]to your prayers fear Allah in relation to his house fear Allah
[56:12]in relation to Jihad fear Allah in relation to your relatives if
[56:18]this one strike of IB M happens to kill me then only
[56:25]strike him with one strike don't mute mate his body for said
[56:32]that you shouldn't even mutilate the body of a dog with rabies
[56:37]all of a sudden the cries of the tears of the daughters
[56:43]of R got louder and louder in the house of in Imagine
[56:52]The Tears Of Z on a night like this and the tears
[56:59]of and the tears of and the other ladies of Al muhamad
[57:04]one holding the other one crying with the other one disconsolate with
[57:14]the other the Imam turned towards imass he said to him my
[57:19]son Hassan come near me IM Hassan came near him the IM
[57:21]looked towards him he said all of you the IM after me
[57:28]is imass am all of you come one by one and Pledge
[57:31]Your Allegiance to your IM one by one the household came my
[57:38]dear brothers and sisters one by one the household came imagine IM
[57:42]Hussein coming to IM Hassan to pledge his Allegiance Muhammed coming to
[57:49]imass to pledge his Allegiance imagine seeing the others who are there
[57:55]one by one and Imagine This moment seeing all the sons pledging
[58:01]their allegion and wondering why isn't he called my Abbas at this
[58:10]moment The Poets depict the scene it's as if the IM said
[58:18]call me call me bring him near me why I asked them
[58:21]all to pledge their allegiance to Hassan but I wanted you to
[58:29]Pledge Your Allegiance to both Hass and Hussein what's he saying in
[58:33]this way he's saying number one you'll live to tell the tale
[58:35]that you will see both of them in their final moments can
[58:40]you imagine the scene when he takes the hands of ab at
[58:47]this moment protect him protect him with what protect him with both
[58:51]your arms and protect him with your eyes I ask all of
[58:54]you did Abbas protect IM he gave away his arms and he
[59:04]gave away his eyes and he gave away all his body for
[59:06]he made sure they all came near him but especially Z why
[59:14]because for Z he knew that all of these will be there
[59:18]to live but there'll be a day they'll pass away but Zab
[59:24]will have to pick up the pieces he b z and Kum
[59:29]near him the poet says it's as if he touched them on
[59:32]their face and he touched them on their back why would the
[59:38]poet describe it in this way because some of those faces would
[59:41]be slapped and others of them would be hit imagine all of
[59:47]them now they've all gathered together and then one by one as
[59:50]they're coming near him they're looking at him in in Final Moments
[59:52]and then all of a sudden they heard the IM look at
[59:57]his father and say imagine all of them around the house at
[60:14]this moment all of them holding each other Zab on this day
[60:20]she had her brothers to hold her alhamdulillah IM Hassan held Z
[60:25]IM Hussein help Z I ask you on the night of the
[60:32]11th ofar who was there to hold Z when she looked at
[60:34]the body of her brothers lying on the earth of we pray
