[0:12][Music] muhammad when we read the quran and the hadith we see

[1:09]that one of the most manifest qualities and characteristics of god is

[1:18]the quality of mercy we see that the mercy of allah subhanahu

[1:23]wa ta'ala stands out in comparison with all of the other names

[1:30]of god we know allah has 99 names but there is one

[1:37]quality that the quran keeps repeating and that is rahma anytime you

[1:44]open the quran the first verse you read before beginning to recite

[1:52]the quran is bismillahi wants us to remember him through his mercy

[1:58]through his rahma and we see that this is something that is

[2:05]repeated in every page of the quran allah subhanahu wa ta'ala says

[2:15]and the mercy of god has encompassed everything everything that's created has

[2:22]received the mercy of allah in another verse allah says allah does

[2:37]not need to make anything obligatory upon himself however allah subhanahu wa

[2:44]ta'ala has made obligatory upon himself and furthermore when we read the

[2:57]quran we see that one of the reasons of creation why did

[3:03]god create people in order to be merciful with them allah says

[3:15]that the reason people have been created so that they receive the

[3:21]mercy of allah subhanahu ta'ala because how can a lord be merciful

[3:25]and this lord does not show that mercy to people is allah

[3:33]so therefore allah subhanahu wa ta'ala shows that mercy to people how

[3:37]do you know someone is generous you know someone is generous when

[3:42]you see that this person is being generous with people similarly with

[3:47]allah so allah created in order to show the mercy to the

[3:57]people and allah subhanahu wa ta'ala says my mercy encompasses everything and

[4:00]reaches everyone even those who have oppressed even those who have sinned

[4:08]even those who think that there is no way back there is

[4:13]a way back for them says tell my servants who have oppressed

[4:33]themselves by sinning and disobeying allah do not give up hope in

[4:40]the mercy of allah because allah forgives all of the sins there's

[4:51]only one sin that does not forgive and that is associating a

[4:58]partner with allah and the reason for that is because the person

[5:03]who associates a partner with god this person is not turning back

[5:07]to god anymore this person is using idols this person is turning

[5:13]to others instead of allah but if you are sincere and you

[5:18]turn to allah subhanahu wa ta'ala then allah will forgive you we

[5:24]see that the mercy of allah is everywhere and it can be

[5:30]felt in everything even there are certain things certain times there are

[5:36]things that we think are bad for us but in fact there

[5:40]is a mercy in them it's actually a means of god's mercy

[5:46]today some people they say i don't believe in god i don't

[5:50]want to believe in god anymore why because god created evil how

[5:57]can there be evil how can there be a virus that kills

[5:59]millions of people how can there be so much wars and famine

[6:04]and poverty how can god allow that to happen how can god

[6:10]create that the answer my dear brothers and sisters is that allah

[6:13]subhanahu wa ta'ala does not create evil evil is the absence of

[6:22]mercy allah subhanahu ta'ala is all mercy but when people reject the

[6:26]mercy of allah subhanahu wa ta'ala then there will be evil so

[6:33]evil comes as a result of the rejection of the mercy of

[6:39]allah when people start oppressing when people are not merciful with one

[6:44]another it is people that wage wars it is people that cause

[6:48]bloodshed it is people that collect 99 percent of the wealth and

[6:52]do not leave any for those who are in need this is

[6:57]why he says he says there would be no poor person the

[7:09]only reason why there is poverty is because someone else has taken

[7:14]the share of that person that's why you have poverty otherwise allah

[7:19]subhanahu wa ta'ala has created enough resources for everyone for another 100

[7:25]years people can live in this life in this world with so

[7:28]much resources for people to live comfortable for people to live happily

[7:33]but it's because of people who take more than they can handle

[7:39]and therefore you find there's evil therefore you find there's poverty therefore

[7:42]you find there's war and famine so this is one allah does

[7:49]not create evil second the evil that we see there are certain

[7:54]things we see in our lives we don't like them we're unhappy

[7:59]with them but everything is relative my dear brothers and sisters even

[8:04]something as bad as death what's the worst thing that could happen

[8:08]death someone dies perhaps for me death is a bad thing perhaps

[8:15]for me death is evil but for the continuation of the human

[8:22]race and for continuation of life death is a natural process it

[8:26]has to happen otherwise you will see people they keep getting older

[8:31]and older and older and no one dies imagine you're taking a

[8:36]test and this test is never ending it never finishes allah says

[8:42]death is crossing the bridge it's turning in the test and you

[8:48]go on the other side to receive the results of that test

[8:50]that's all that it is so you might look at it you

[8:55]might perceive it as an evil you might perceive it as bad

[8:59]but in fact it's all relative there are there's a lot of

[9:03]good things that come out of certain bad things that we perceive

[9:07]right now this virus this coven that has kept people home for

[9:13]over a year now there's a lot of good things that came

[9:17]out of it a lot of families are spending more time with

[9:21]one another the environment is benefiting there is less carbon dioxide emission

[9:28]there's a lot of good things that come out of it so

[9:32]everything is relative maybe something is bad for me but it could

[9:37]be good through another perspective and this my dear brothers and sisters

[9:44]is life one day it's for you the other day it's against

[9:49]you allah says in the the most important thing is that you

[9:56]have to be a believer in god if you believe in allah

[10:00]subhanahu wa ta'ala whatever difficulty you face whatever talent you face in

[10:06]life you will be able to overcome it but if you don't

[10:11]believe in god then that's the disaster then that's the calamity because

[10:16]that's all that you believe in that's all you've invested in once

[10:22]you die once you leave this life that's it but those who

[10:26]believe in allah subhanahu wa ta'ala those who believe in god and

[10:29]believe in the day of judgment then any struggle they face in

[10:36]life it's all relative and it will all come to an end

[10:39]so we see that allah subhanahu wa ta'ala his mercy overcomes everything

[10:45]and even certain things that we perceive to be evil we perceive

[10:52]to be bad in fact in a way it is a mercy

[10:55]death is mercy even a disease it could be a mercy in

[10:59]a way we have many hadith allah the hadith says that the

[11:05]men the believer for one night spending with a fever you have

[11:13]a fever one night you can't sleep that night on the day

[11:16]of judgment the believer they will see the reward that they had

[11:21]for that few hours of struggle they will wish that their whole

[11:27]life they had a fever it's a mercy it's a type of

[11:30]mercy the bala and the calamities that we face in life are

[11:34]also a type of mercy it all depends on your perspective it

[11:37]all depends on your approach so the mercy of allah subhanahu wa

[11:42]ta'ala is the most profound and it stands out from all of

[11:53]the qualities of allah and there are faces there are certain things

[11:57]that show the mercy more than any than other things what are

[12:04]the faces of god's mercy what are certain things that represent god's

[12:09]mercy on earth one my dear brothers and sisters is religion your

[12:18]religion and your faith and your belief and the islam that you

[12:25]believe in this is the mercy of allah upon you some people

[12:29]they look at religion as a burden oh religion is a set

[12:35]of laws that tell me do this and do that this is

[12:36]haram don't do this and don't do that dress like this and

[12:41]dress like that some people they regard religion as a burden however

[12:46]the reality is that religion is a mercy from allah out of

[12:53]all the people out of all the creation allah chose you to

[12:59]receive the guidance of allah god wants to guide you god wants

[13:06]to show you the way isn't this a mercy from allah subhanahu

[13:09]ta'ala towards you when allah subhanahu ta'ala is guiding you and showing

[13:15]you the way allah subhanahu wa ta'ala sent 124 000.

[13:19]prophets and messengers to guide us to show us the way isn't

[13:25]this mercy from allah this hidayah this guidance from allah is a

[13:31]way of god's mercy if it wasn't for allah we would not

[13:35]be guided if it wasn't for god we would not know our

[13:47]way this is why allah says and those who are misguided they're

[14:03]not going to find anyone who will show them the way other

[14:06]than allah subhanahu wa islam is a mercy from allah through the

[14:22]prophets and the messengers these are all ways of god's mercy islam

[14:27]is a merciful religion and islam is a mercy from allah to

[14:34]me says oh you people who believe answer the call of god

[14:53]and the messenger for they have brought you a way of life

[15:02]of islam is a message of life when you believe in islam

[15:06]islam gives you a system it gives you a system to live

[15:12]a happy lifestyle so when we follow the rules of allah subhanahu

[15:18]wa ta'ala when we pray when we follow the orders of god

[15:22]when we fast when we go to hajj when we abide by

[15:27]everything that allah has commanded us that's god's mercy towards us and

[15:33]if you are praying thank allah for that guidance if you are

[15:38]going to thank allah for giving you the privilege of going to

[15:44]hajj if you give charity thank allah subhanahu wa ta'ala for allowing

[15:49]you to be from those who give in the way of allah

[15:56]when you give you are being the means of the mercy of

[16:03]allah subhanahu ta'ala allah allah sometimes wants to be merciful to a

[16:09]person but allah chooses certain individuals that they are the ones who

[16:14]act out god's mercy so you could be a tool used by

[16:17]allah and you could be the one who delivers the mercy of

[16:22]allah subhanahu wa ta'ala to people so when you ever anytime you

[16:29]do good anytime you do anything good thank allah for that blessing

[16:34]alhamdulillah anytime you do good say the statement say this verse alhamdulillah

[16:49]all praise is due to god that he guided us to this

[16:54]you know fasting some people they look at fasting as a burden

[16:58]but fasting is a tophill fasting is a blessing if you are

[17:04]able to fast then you are privileged because there are other people

[17:08]that cannot fast there are other people that have not received the

[17:12]message there are other people that have rejected the message of fasting

[17:15]if you are fasting then thank allah subhanahu wa for that blessing

[17:20]this is the hidayah that came to you while others rejected it

[17:25]while others either it did not come to them or they rejected

[17:29]it and they did not accept it but you accepted it so

[17:33]thank allah subhanahu wa ta'ala for that blessing the month of ramadan

[17:40]is a means of god's blessing a means of god's mercy we

[17:46]mentioned yesterday some of the blessings of the month of ramadan speaking

[17:53]about the month of ramadan he says is being saved and rescued

[18:24]from the hell fire isn't the month of ramadan a month of

[18:28]mercy isn't the month of ramadan one of the faces of god's

[18:36]mercy the month of ramadan is the quran my dear brothers and

[18:43]sisters the quran is the mercy of allah we need to change

[18:47]our perspective we need to change our approach a lot of people

[18:52]they look at religion they look at fasting they look at hajj

[18:54]they look at alms giving they look at zakat and prayer as

[18:59]a burden but we need to change that and look at it

[19:03]as a mercy from allah subhanahu wa ta'ala upon us the quran

[19:07]is god's way of speaking to you and allah subhanahu wa ta'ala

[19:14]describes the quran [Music] was the lord of the universe chose to

[19:40]speak to you and i how did he speak to us through

[19:44]the quran and a book of healing for the diseases of the

[19:56]heart we need to be healed by the quran we need to

[19:59]accept the verses of the quran as a means of healing a

[20:06]guidance and a mercy to the believers so we said islam and

[20:14]whatever comes with islam the the obligations that we have and the

[20:18]quran are a means of god's mercy furthermore allah subhanahu wa ta'ala

[20:26]has blessed us by one of the most profound and great mercies

[20:33]and that is that allah subhanahu wa ta'ala has given every single

[20:38]one of us the ability to erase our history to erase our

[20:46]pages of sins whatever wrong you have done allah has given you

[20:54]the opportunity to erase it you might have some friends you might

[20:57]have some family 10 years ago you did something you said something

[21:03]to them and they keep bringing it up they keep talking about

[21:06]it or remember when you did this remember we were gathered at

[21:09]that barbecue and you said this to me some people they hold

[21:15]grudges for 10 20 30 40 years allah subhanahu wa ta'ala does

[21:20]not hold grudges allah subhanahu wa ta'ala gives every single individual the

[21:28]opportunity to erase everything and it will be erased in a way

[21:33]where even the angels they will not be able to know what

[21:36]happened allah subhanahu wa ta'ala if someone repents and they are sincere

[21:42]allah will erase the book of deeds where there will be no

[21:45]trace that a person lived that a lifestyle of sinning and allah

[21:51]will make the angels who write down everything allah will make them

[21:58]forget everything this is the mercy of allah subhanahu wa allah subhanahu

[22:03]wa ta'ala has opened the door of repentance and allowed us to

[22:09]repent and turn to allah tell my servants who have oppressed themselves

[22:31]do not give up faith and hope in the mercy of allah

[22:35]because allah forgives all of the sins and allah loves the ones

[22:54]who purify themselves if you're a repenter if you turn to allah

[23:02]subhanahu wa ta'ala with sincerity you are from those who are loved

[23:05]by allah subhanahu you are from those who are loved by god

[23:13]and some people they say i don't want to repent because i

[23:18]feel ashamed of what i have done i feel wrong i feel

[23:23]that allah is not going to accept me i feel that god

[23:27]is not going to allow me into his mercy don't ever say

[23:33]that with allah because allah wants us all to turn to him

[23:39]allah wants us allah welcomes us in a hadith it says isla

[24:04]and repentance from him like what like the parents you know a

[24:12]mother and a father a husband and a wife they don't have

[24:16]children they are waiting years and years to have a child after

[24:22]a long time allah grants them a child how happy will they

[24:28]be when they have that child they will be extremely happy this

[24:31]is someone who is meaning someone who's sterile but they have children

[24:38]the hadith says god is happier than that couple when someone who

[24:44]has sinned turns to allah subhanahu ta'ala repents to allah subhanahu wa

[24:49]this is why my dear brothers and sisters we should never feel

[24:53]ashamed of turning to allah we should never feel guilty there is

[25:01]no sin that's greater than allah subhanahu wa ta'ala that makes you

[25:05]feel guilty turn to allah subhanahu ta'ala turn to god and ask

[25:10]allah subhanahu wa ta'ala because allah will forgive and allah will give

[25:15]you a clean slate as if you have not done anything this

[25:18]is the mercy of allah imam zayn al-abidin he mentions a story

[25:27]in al-kafi he says there was a family riding a ship a

[25:35]boat and there was a shipwreck their boat collapsed in the middle

[25:41]of the ocean and everyone died the husband and the children the

[25:46]only one that survived was the wife a young lady she held

[25:53]onto a piece of wood and she survived she was holding on

[25:57]to it until she was beached until she came to an island

[26:02]or to a place and she came on the beach and then

[26:11]the imam in the land in the island there was a young

[26:17]man who used to commit all of the sins in the book

[26:20]he used to sin and there were no red lines for him

[26:24]this person used to sin and disobey allah not caring for anything

[26:33]or anyone so he sees a beautiful young lady and she's all

[26:37]alone and she's at the beach and she has no one [Music]

[26:41]so the man he comes to her and the hadith says he

[26:48]asked her are you a human or a jinn she tells him

[26:52]i'm a human he tells her what happened to you she says

[26:56]the ship collapsed in the middle of the ocean and my family

[27:00]died and i'm all alone right now so this man this young

[27:08]man he has the intention of assaulting her physically and sexually assaulting

[27:14]her she's all alone she has no one so he comes to

[27:20]her and he wants to assault her she begins to cry he

[27:25]looks at her he tells her why are you crying she says

[27:30]i'm afraid of allah he tells her why are you afraid if

[27:36]anyone should be afraid it should be me and then suddenly he

[27:41]realizes i should be afraid suddenly he wakes up and he realizes

[27:46]i am the one who should be afraid this lady is not

[27:51]doing anything wrong and she's crying and she's afraid of allah what

[27:54]should i be doing so he changes his mind and he decides

[28:00]on not committing the sin and he decides on repenting and going

[28:04]back to his family so imam saying he says this man goes

[28:13]and he starts walking back to his family as he's walking he

[28:17]sees a monk he sees a preacher he comes and they are

[28:20]sharing the road they're both walking in the same direction so they're

[28:27]walking together and the sun rises and it becomes very warm it

[28:31]becomes very hot so the the monk he tells him he tells

[28:39]him let us ask allah subhanahu wa ta'ala to send a cloud

[28:42]to give us shade because it's hot let's ask allah to send

[28:48]a cloud to cover us and protect us from the sun the

[28:52]young man who has just repented he said i'm embarrassed to ask

[28:58]allah what have i done have i done anything good my whole

[29:02]life i've been living as a sinner and now i have the

[29:06]face to come and ask allah to give me something like that

[29:09]so the preacher the monk he tells him okay i will do

[29:13]the dua and you say i'm you say amen so the preacher

[29:19]the monk he says oh allah send a cloud to come and

[29:26]protect us from the sun this young man he says i'm mean

[29:34]amen suddenly they see a cloud that comes above them it comes

[29:37]above them and it's protecting them from the sun and they're walking

[29:40]and walking and they're being protected then they reach a fork they

[29:46]reach a place where the monk has to go one direction and

[29:52]the young man has to go the other direction so they separate

[29:54]from one another and the cloud is following the young man it's

[30:01]not following the monk so the monk is surprised he's shocked he

[30:06]comes back running to the young man he tells him listen the

[30:10]cloud is following you it's not following me that means your dua

[30:14]was accepted not my dua what have you done then the young

[30:20]man he tells him his story he tells him my whole life

[30:24]i've been living as a sinner but i decided to repent i

[30:28]decided not to pursue what i was going to carry out and

[30:33]this is my story then the man tells him continue what you

[30:37]have done because allah has forgiven you allah has cleared everything allah

[30:45]has cleared your sins and forgiven you this is the mercy of

[30:50]allah who forgives other than allah it's only god that forgives no

[31:21]one else will forgive you other than allah subhanahu ta'ala do not

[31:29]give up hope in the mercy of allah so we said that

[31:33]the repentance is one of the faces of god's mercy and we

[31:39]need to take advantage of that the month of ramadan is the

[31:43]month of istighfar the month of ramadan is the month of taubah

[31:47]and turning back to allah don't say i have not done anything

[31:54]wrong don't say i've been praying i've been fasting i've been doing

[31:57]everything i'm supposed to do no we ask allah for we repent

[32:01]to allah for even the shortcomings that we have had am i

[32:07]praying a perfect prayer am i doing all of my duas do

[32:12]i not have any shortcomings with allah subhanahu ta'ala used to always

[32:19]say for allah rasul allah used to say astaghfirullah at least 70

[32:22]times a day are we better than rasulullah we have to always

[32:29]seek forgiveness and turn to allah finally one of the faces one

[32:37]of the most profound and manifest faces of god's mercy they are

[32:52]the doors of god's mercy rasulullah is the greatest manifestation of god's

[33:01]mercy he is the prophet of mercy the man of mercy who

[33:05]is described in the quran through his mercy where allah subhanahu wa

[33:12]ta'ala says three times in three separate verses to rasulallah as a

[33:19]man of mercy allah we sent you as a mercy to all

[33:33]of mankind in another verse allah says it is out of the

[33:44]mercy of allah that we made you compassionate and kind with people

[33:50]in a third verse allah says rahim is the embodiment of god's

[34:14]mercy he is the mercy of allah and it is because of

[34:17]god's mercy that he sent a man this is why allah says

[34:25]that god does not punish the people as long as rasulullah is

[34:31]with them allah will not punish them as long as you're amongst

[34:45]them and allah will not punish them as long as they are

[34:49]doing as long as they are repenting and turning to allah subhanahu

[34:53]wa rasulullah was a mercy he forgave everyone he was a man

[34:59]who was known for his akhlaq he forgave everyone those who harassed

[35:06]him and abused them and turned against him his days were not

[35:15]easy the struggles that rasulullah faced were not easy the first 13

[35:20]years in mecca every day was for rasul allah every day was

[35:26]torture for rasulallah every day he was harassed and abused by some

[35:29]of the closest people to him by quraysh by his own clan

[35:33]by his neighbors by his uncle but rasul allah would always do

[35:40]duha for their guidance he would never do duha against them he

[35:45]goes to if he goes and he leaves mecca he travels to

[35:49]an area a town by the name of and they begin to

[35:54]harass the prophet they begin to throw stones and rocks and trash

[36:00]he goes behind the wall to protect himself because he's bleeding from

[36:06]head to toe this is the mercy of allah jibril comes to

[36:11]him in that moment and he tells him you are much greater

[36:17]than to be treated in such a way ask allah one word

[36:23]and allah will punish all of these people he has the opportunity

[36:29]to do dua against them to have god punish them the same

[36:34]way noah and many of the other prophets hud and saleh and

[36:39]other prophets they prayed and they did against their people oh allah

[36:51]forgive my people because they don't know oh allah guide my people

[37:00]was a mercy every day and every moment of his life he

[37:07]was the manifestation of god's mercy until he was able to conquer

[37:13]mecca mecca that town that city that kicked him out that city

[37:17]that waged wars against him and battles against him and killed his

[37:25]family was able to conquer it conquered it he could have taken

[37:33]revenge he could have arrested those people who were guilty of war

[37:39]crimes like hind and abu sufyan and she ate the liver of

[37:42]hamza the uncle of the prophet he could have arrested her he

[37:46]could have held her rasool allah forgave you are free one of

[38:00]the companions of rasulallah when they were conquering mecca that man he

[38:07]was carrying one of the banners one of the flags and he

[38:11]began to call out today is the day of bloodshed today is

[38:21]the day that the woman will be taken captive this is what

[38:25]the arabs used to do this was what they do they go

[38:28]and one tribe raids another and they take their woman captive who

[38:45]takes the banner of islam and he goes out and he begins

[38:50]to call out today is the day of rama today is the

[38:58]day of mercy today is the day that the woman will be

[39:02]honored and respected through islam this was rasulullah he goes and he

[39:11]takes the keys of the kaaba the ka'ba was filled with idols

[39:18]inside the cabin on top of the kaaba from a family by

[39:21]the name of banu abdidar they had the keys of the kaaba

[39:27]they were the custodians of the house he goes and he takes

[39:31]the key from them and then they enter into the ka'ba and

[39:34]they destroy the idols he comes back to that same family who

[39:43]were non-believers and he gives them back the key where do you

[39:47]find a leader does that where do you find a leader who's

[39:50]that just where he comes and he gives back even the oppressors

[39:56]he treats them with quality with justice that's what islam teaches us

[40:12]to treat even our enemies with justice and this is what did

[40:18]and after rasool allah the albeit they are the manifestation of god's

[40:27]mercy and today that mercy is with imam sharif who is the

[40:35]mercy of allah the living mercy of god on earth and we

[40:39]ask allah subhanahu wa ta'ala to hasten his reappearance so that he

[40:45]will be able to spread justice and mercy on earth after it

[40:50]has been filled with injustice and oppression my dear brothers and sisters

[41:00]today many people are unaware due to the misconceptions of the mercy

[41:05]of islam of the mercy of rasulallah of the mercy that the

[41:12]religion of islam brought forth to people and we have a duty

[41:15]we have an obligation to show people that mercy we have a

[41:22]duty to tell people about the mercy of rasulallah the mercy of

[41:26]the quran and the mercy of the religion of islam this is

[41:30]a religion of mercy and the reason i wanted to talk about

[41:34]this is because there are so many misconceptions against islam today a

[41:38]lot of people they think that islam and anything that comes from

[41:43]god is a burden because of the actions of some people yes

[41:47]there are some people that misrepresent the quran and misrepresent the religion

[41:51]of islam and it's because of their actions that other people people

[41:57]who are ignorant they perceive the religion of islam as a religion

[42:01]of violence and religion of oppression we have to show people the

[42:06]mercy of islam and the best way to do so is by

[42:09]being merciful with one another god is the lord of mercy if

[42:18]i want to be as close as possible to god then i

[42:22]need to have those qualities within me i need to treat others

[42:24]with mercy i need to i need to treat others with compassion

[42:27]i need to show the love and the compassion of islam to

[42:33]other people invite people for the sake of your lord with wisdom

[42:42]and good admonishments show them the akhlaq of islam through your own

[42:48]actions my dear brothers and sisters we ask allah subhanahu wa ta'ala

[42:54]to make us from those who receive the mercy of allah on

[42:58]the day of judgment the time that we need it most and

[43:02]we ask allah subhanahu wa ta'ala to make us be from those

[43:04]who are merciful to others and we are the means of god's

[43:10]mercy so that allah spreads his mercy to others through us that's

[43:15]the best dua you could do for yourself ask allah to make

[43:21]you be the one who delivers god's mercy to other people and

[43:27]we ask allah subhanahu wa ta'ala to bless you all to accept

[43:34]all of your life
