[1:01]serve Allah subhana wa ta'ala and of course the holy [Music] [Music]
[1:28]household on All His prophets and especially the final Prophet The Prophet
[1:48]Muhammad peace be upon him and his family my respected brothers and
[1:50]sisters I bid you the Islamic greeting of without a doubt is's
[1:59]it's the Innovation the innovated prayer of the second Calif and mind
[2:04]you these aren't my words I will slowly open up the books
[2:07]such as bukari and Muslim to see this prayer and how it
[2:12]was innovated byar something very interesting is that never once in his
[2:19]life ever called this prayer nor did the first nor did call
[2:26]itwi nor did nor did IM and some of you may therefore
[2:34]turn around and say that how could Omar have innovated without him
[2:38]actually titling it that no what Omar innovated was a recommended prayer
[2:42]in the holy month of Ramadan of the Naf in congregation otherwise
[2:48]that later maybe up to 300 400 years after Al died was
[2:53]known as and this may come as a shock or indeed as
[2:58]a surprise or new information for for some of the Shia and
[3:02]even some of the non Shia who are listening to this CU
[3:04]When you see the draws of people in the holy month of
[3:07]Ramadan going to virtually every mosque that you can imagine of the
[3:12]Sunni World praying maybe an equivalence to we know very well that
[3:18]Salat is counted as one of the obligatory prayers but when it
[3:21]comes to the holy month of Ramadan you see people virtually putting
[3:25]on the same level as as if they believe on the first
[3:30]level that this could possibly have been a Salah that had mentioned
[3:34]by saying pray no the name or the title is not a
[3:42]title from nor is it from any of the sah and you'll
[3:43]be hardpressed to find even a few traditions in the first couple
[3:48]of hundred years of the religion of Islam that give it this
[3:51]particular title it's not a title which we find in the Quran
[3:53]for example nor is it a title that we find in the
[3:58]of therefore you found that even on the second level there are
[4:05]different methods of praying this prayer even that with an innovation people
[4:08]could not agree on how to pray this prayer I've seen people
[4:12]out there who pray 11 I've seen some who pray 20 plus
[4:15]three I've seen others who pray for example such as the malis
[4:21]they pray 36 plus three and so even in the Sunni world
[4:24]don't imagine that in the Sunni world everybody is in agreement about
[4:29]even the method of Prayer of I see people always saying but
[4:32]look mallah the whole Quran is completed in so what could be
[4:38]wrong with it again that is not something that was established by
[4:41]by the this is something that's come later on do you know
[4:45]there were even people who used to do in the middle of
[4:47]the resting period of because you know if you think of the
[4:52]word for example what does that mean that means to rest and
[4:58]so the whole idea is that you're going to need a rest
[5:01]somewhere in the middle of this innovated prayer you're going to need
[5:06]a time to maybe go and just kick back after four and
[5:09]rest up because it is one long prayer and it needs rest
[5:16]and So eventually a few hundred years after someone out there decided
[5:22]to name it now when we come to the origin of the
[5:24]Salah of course us the sh do not pray the Salah and
[5:28]someone might be asking why is it that you the Shia do
[5:33]not pray at all and why is it that the Sunni World
[5:34]definitely prays it why is it that the Sunni world has taken
[5:40]this Salah as virtually a waj Salah now someone out there could
[5:42]tell me it's not waj I didn't say it's waj I said
[5:47]it's virtually W and ultimately our role in this holy month of
[5:49]Ramadan and our aim is for us to be able to look
[5:53]in the literature of other schools in Islam so I as a
[5:55]sh I want to open up bukari this month and Muslim Nas
[6:03]Abu da maed for example Malik I want to open I want
[6:09]to open them all up I want to get to know what's
[6:13]written in their literature and if I find that in the literature
[6:15]of the other schools in Islam the word b is mentioned next
[6:21]to a particular practice then I think that I'm quite justified in
[6:26]my conclusions and mind you I don't just want to pick up
[6:28]bukari and Muslim and just take them on face value because at
[6:32]the end of the day bukari and Muslim also have a written
[6:35]for example you know for example um in the is one of
[6:42]my favorite texts in understanding um the and understanding B so for
[6:47]example for me is very important I have to read for me
[6:52]to understand what the background is of a tradition noi I've got
[6:55]noi over here today mashallah we will be joining nowi very very
[7:01]short and if we're going to be discussing Muslim it's vital that
[7:05]we look at of Muslim as well so today we're going to
[7:07]be looking at the understanding of also the scholars who have written
[7:15]on Muslim and bukari so the I do not do Injustice in
[7:18]relation to this prayer which without a doubt is a an innovation
[7:24]of the second Calif now let's go back rewind where does this
[7:31]prayer originate date from as we know Al the holy prophet peace
[7:34]be upon him his family had instituted prayer as being obligatory it
[7:38]was a command from the heavens there are certain prayers which are
[7:43]obligatory for the holy prophet peace be upon him and his family
[7:47]and they are obligatory for us as well so for example is
[7:56]obligatory for and is obligatory for us these are all prayers which
[8:03]are obligatory for the holy prophet peace be upon his family and
[8:07]for us as well for example is obligatory for the holy prophet
[8:10]peace be upon his family and if we're living for example in
[8:14]the time of the then obligatory for us as we mentioned obligatory
[8:17]for the holy prophet peace be upon his family obligatory for us
[8:20]all of these have their own conditions within the books of law
[8:24]there are certain prayers which are W for the holy prophet peace
[8:30]be upon him his family and recommended for us so for example
[8:36]there may be aah which is W for the prophets recommended for
[8:43]us According to some you'll find clearly that they say that was
[8:47]made oblig and this is in sh and Sunni schools that there
[8:49]are Scholars who have given opinions that is for as we know
[8:59]has different names Sal In some cultures is known as Sal for
[9:10]example this Salah according to Scholars was obligatory for you all at
[9:18]home know that is made up of how many made up of
[9:22]11 you pray for example four time two like how you pray
[9:28]F say imagine you're praying four F four time two and then
[9:30]the last three are known as and so that comes to a
[9:36]total of how many 11 in the Quran Allah subhana wa ta'ala
[9:40]mentions this night prayer which is recommended for me and which is
[9:49]W on the holy prophet peace be's family in two places sometimes
[9:53]Allah calls it if we look for example within the Quran you'll
[10:01]see that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala in Surah 17 of the Quran
[10:09]verse number 79 Allah subhah wa ta'ala all of you of course
[10:12]have read this Ayah of the Holy Quran Surah 17 verse number
[10:19]79 Allah subhana says and of course from that night the person
[10:28]that is the holy prophet peace be upon his family praise these
[10:33]prayers which gain him that closeness to Allah subhana wa ta'ala which
[10:39]We call we all as and believe that these are super agory
[10:43]prayers prayers these are recommended prayers for us in some of our
[10:50]traditions we see that it's been attributed to the imams that one
[10:58]of the signs of the Believers is to pray 51 of prayer
[11:00]some may differ over these Traditions but let's say generally that the
[11:04]sign of a m is to pray 51 Salah a day now
[11:08]51 someone will say hold on I thought Salah was 17 Salah
[11:14]which is is 17 plus 11 plus the rest 23 which is
[11:22]which what we call the or the for for for for for
[11:28]you would see for examp example the twos and the eights and
[11:31]the eights for example and the fours and the twos all of
[11:36]these are known as the are they W for me no someone
[11:41]may pray is no do I need to pray the prayer where
[11:46]you see people sitting after and they pray for example is that
[11:55]wag no a prayer which is W is a prayer which a
[11:57]person does in j you'll see we'll see for example the five
[12:05]prayers that they are in that Salah is a Salah which can
[12:12]be done in but that Salah if it is for me and
[12:18]is one that you do in what ifah is for and not
[12:26]for me does this prayer get prayed in Jama no no no
[12:32]that prayer does not get prayed in J alai is the master
[12:40]of that which is recommended and that which is obligatory Al the
[12:46]Quan mentioned for his night prayer or the Quran for example had
[12:52]mentioned when the Quran said it was saying to the prophet peace
[12:58]be upon him his family to stand up in the night he
[12:59]stands up it's w for him can I pray it in no
[13:06]this is the history of this prayer which we see today Millions
[13:14]doing not knowing that it has nothing to do with and I
[13:17]go on to say nothing even to do with the first CIF
[13:21]but is everything related to the second CIF was praying Salah in
[13:30]the holy month of Ramadan holy month of Ramadan in our sh
[13:36]literature it is recommended that you pray at home or you pray
[13:39]for example in the mosque and that you try and pray how
[13:44]many of Salah try and pray thousand of Salah in the holy
[13:46]month of Ramadan but you pray it yourself not in Jam say
[13:51]in the first 20 nights we are recommended and there are hadiths
[13:59]you'll find within Ali within the was that we pray 20 a
[14:03]night for example in the first 20 nights and then 30 a
[14:09]night in the last 10 nights and 100 in the 19th 21st
[14:12]23rd that's why you'll find some communities on the 19th 21st 23rd
[14:20]they'll complete 100 20 * 20 400 30 * 10 is what
[14:25]300 400 + 300 is what 700 add the 100 and 100
[14:27]and 100 on the 19th 21st that you get 1,000 of Salah
[14:31]how many in the month of Ramadan 1,000 units for us it
[14:37]is recommended to do as much as possible the month of Ramadan
[14:40]but not in why because I am willing to sit over here
[14:46]and state that there is no way even if you want to
[14:51]put people behind when he prayed the prayers in the Holy mon
[14:57]of Ramadan all there is no way that this lasts longer than
[15:01]even I would say 80 hours today there are muslims praying it
[15:04]as if it's lasted the whole of the lifetime of why do
[15:10]I say this let's go and open up the book slowly tonight
[15:14]my dear brothers and sisters I want to begin with sah Muslim
[15:19]let's begin with sah Muslim all of you could see it there
[15:23]in front of you I will not give anything without showing everybody
[15:27]at home that we are using the book so nobody at home
[15:30]says where did you get this from Muslim compiled by IM AB
[15:38]Hussein Muslim andri volume two from Hadith number 1161 to 2262 a
[15:49]Hadith edited and referenced by Abu translated by who Canada final review
[16:01]by who the final review by Abu in America all of you
[16:09]can see this clearly let us please go in sah Muslim to
[16:11]where let us go to the section which is known as the
[16:18]book of The Travelers as you could see in my copy over
[16:21]here my dear brothers and sisters you could all see very clearly
[16:26]that in my copy over here we are on page 301 at
[16:33]the bottom of this particular section at the bottom over here 1825
[16:41]213 Str 781 let's see his reaction to people thinking they can
[16:49]pray in congregation behind him in a prayer like the night prayer
[16:56]or the na or the recommended it was narrated that Z binit
[17:00]said the messenger of Allah sectioned off an area using palm tree
[17:09]leaves on a reed mat and the messenger of Allah went out
[17:13]and prayed in it some Men followed him and they started to
[17:21]follow his prayer then they came one night and waited for him
[17:25]but the messenger of Allah stayed away and did not come out
[17:28]to them they raised their voices and threw pebbles at the door
[17:35]and the messenger of Allah came out to them angrily the messenger
[17:40]of Allah said to them you were so persistent in praying behind
[17:43]me that I thought it would be made obligatory for you you
[17:47]should pray in your houses for the best of a man's prayer
[17:53]is in his house apart from the obligatory prayers my dear brothers
[17:57]and sisters all of you can see this Hadith this is inah
[17:59]Muslim firstly wants to go to pray in a section by himself
[18:06]this is his recommended mustat in the holy month of Ramadan he
[18:10]wants to get closer to Allah subhana wa tala they when you
[18:17]look at the Hadith they start following him and then they wait
[18:20]for him when he doesn't come out to them because he realizes
[18:24]that there are people who are praying behind him and that could
[18:27]not be done for a Salah which is not w for them
[18:31]they rais their look at the which you know amazes me W
[18:39]amazes me the Hadith said what theith said they raised their voices
[18:50]and threw Pebbles this is the etiquette I want to pray and
[18:53]get closer to Allah subhana wa taala Muslim this is the etiquette
[18:57]that I want to pray behind the prophet so what do I
[19:02]end up doing raise my voice and throw Pebbles then the Hadith
[19:05]said very clearly that came out angrily people want to pray behind
[19:20]you normally you would say bro let's pray Jama no way we
[19:24]cannot pray Jama in this this is not a waj Salah for
[19:29]you for you to should come and pray behind me in the
[19:32]moment the Muslims recognize this he even continues by saying what what
[19:43]so what pray your prayers where best for you to pray your
[19:53]prayers in the house apart from what except for that Salah which
[20:01]is obligatory is that clear sah Muslim is clear or no let's
[20:04]just go back just in case someone says you sh make things
[20:08]up and we have no such reference for the Muslim I want
[20:11]to switch from Muslim to if you don't mind everyone please join
[20:19]me so let's see did people listen the first person who disobeyed
[20:27]and made his own was if I said this as a sh
[20:33]people would turn around to me and say you sh hate the
[20:35]sah you sh do not respect the Cals so you respect someone
[20:40]who changes the of to his own opinion let's seei everybody please
[20:47]look at this the translation of the meanings of sah alkari Arabic
[20:52]English volume three Hadith 177 to 2337 translated by Dr Muhammad M
[20:59]Khan Dam Publishers my dear brothers where is it it is here
[21:05]and you could clearly see everything is written here July printed in
[21:10]July 1997 printing supervised by Abdul Malik muah can everybody see thisam
[21:15]1997 King fad National Library Cat loging in publication data just in
[21:19]case someone says you uh publish this in Iran or in nef
[21:21]or in carala no Hab or in the south of Lebanon no
[21:25]here we are we have the book right in front of us
[21:30]and what better section to go to if you go here what
[21:34]right in front of you can everyone see that the book of
[21:39]Twi prayers 31 the book of T prayers what's under it prayers
[21:48]at night in Ramadan prayers which means that is not a w
[21:55]prayer I want you to come down to Hadith number 20 0
[22:00]my dear brothers and sisters Hadith number 2010 what does it sayd
[22:19]it is narrated abdd said who have I come out with I'm
[22:30]reading ver from here I went out in the company of Omar
[22:39]One Night in the holy month of Ramadan to the mosque and
[22:45]found the people performing Salah in different groups a man performing Salah
[22:54]prayers alone or a man performing Salah prayers with a little group
[22:58]behind him so let's go to the next page Omar said what
[23:07]it would be better if we did what it would be better
[23:14]in my opinion I would better collect these people under the leadership
[23:20]of one let them perform Salah in congregation so he made up
[23:27]his mind and he congregated them behind then on another night I
[23:35]went again in his company and the people were performing Salah behind
[23:40]their reciter on that Omar remarked every Muslim out there please look
[23:46]at me every Muslim out there this is a vital moment for
[23:50]you because has people throwing pebbles at him but he does not
[23:57]desist this is not going to be done in whatever reason you
[24:00]want to give that he didn't want to make it w you
[24:03]don't can't hold the burden no problem sees now that he wants
[24:09]to see that everyone's collected and when he then comes to comment
[24:12]look what he says over here Omar remarked what an excellent look
[24:28]in the English what an excellent that is can everyone see that
[24:34]what an excellent that is innovation in religion this is how many
[24:47]millions are praying right now how many millions how many millions are
[24:53]the same ones who will say that is an innovation Innovation leads
[25:03]to Hellfire W I used to remember and there were nights of
[25:07]Y and days where all I here is the biggest here is
[25:17]the biggest innovation in your face Omar institutes the innovation of this
[25:25]Salah it's not called something as a name came hundreds of years
[25:32]later this Salah Omar is proud look at his wording his wording
[25:37][Music] is what an excellent innovation in religion this is so who's
[25:48]the prophet of Allah you or Al doesn't know that this is
[25:54]good to put in the religion the heavens do not know the
[25:55]does not know J does not know that's why it doesn't surprise
[25:58]me where people say if there was another Prophet would be Omar
[26:00]because it seems that it reaches a stage where Omar can innovate
[26:06]a religion when it comes from the heavens a religion that comes
[26:08]from the heavens you could not have someone who comes after that
[26:11]prophet and begins to innovate what he thinks the religion is about
[26:14]otherwise of course Jesus's mission is destroyed if you want an example
[26:22]I thought I'll bring an an interesting example here for all of
[26:25]you and I'll get back to this everybody please look at this
[26:28]book fa famous book from a very famous scholar the history of
[26:36]theas who took the right way I ask you took the right
[26:39]way means what means those who adopted the Sunnah of Al or
[26:46]those who innovated their own Sunnah whose Sunnah do you follow the
[26:52]sunah of or the of and I'll come to this later when
[27:02]we discuss IM Ali and IM opinion on we'll come to that
[27:08]when we open some of the sh sources the history of the
[27:16]cffs who took the right way translated by abdad Clark the history
[27:19]of the cffs who took the right way third revised Edition a
[27:21]translation the chapters on from translated by AA Publishers limited reprinted what
[27:31]it was first 1995 reprinted 9698 second edition 2001 reprinted 2004 third
[27:40]revised Edition 2008 I'm giving you all of this I want us
[27:44]to all go to the section Oni is a renowned scholar wheni
[27:51]gets to the section omab I want everybody you can buy this
[27:57]at any Muslim Publishers book um shop you could buy it page
[28:01]135 talks about in the year 14 after Damascus was open to
[28:09]Islam partly both by treaty and Force and and by treaty and
[28:12]Bas by by force then in that Year everybody look at this
[28:21]in that year Omar United people in one look in bracket the
[28:29]optional prayer said at night in sh Ramadan said in his the
[28:36]is of course those who did firsts quotes from in his a
[28:45]means what means first therefore if is the first to put them
[28:51]in then that means he goes against the practice of Al and
[28:58]if goes against the practice of then the religion has been welcomed
[29:03]to Innovation if it was a sh scholar saying this my dear
[29:09]brother and sister if it was a sh scholar saying this then
[29:13]you could say well you sh do not respect Omar and you
[29:16]don't have that reverence that we have because that's your accusation the
[29:20]reality for me my dear brother and sister is that in the
[29:27]same way people say Ali's position for the sh is exaggerated by
[29:30]the sh to the extent some say you worship Ali likewise status
[29:36]reaches a level that even if he says something is a a
[29:41]person has to run around in circles to protect what he said
[29:43]look at all these speakers on YouTube Z others when you ask
[29:50]them about they go around in circles not in the sh sense
[29:53]it's in the linguistic sense it's why are you going around in
[29:59]circles admit that had aah had aah and hence IMI Anyone who
[30:04]reads the books of history when im aliam was asked the question
[30:09]about in the of Omar for the appointment of Theif after IMI
[30:14]was part of a of six withd all of them were there
[30:23]when he was asked will you follow the Sunnah of the prophet
[30:26]and the listen to the wording will you follow the Sunnah of
[30:34]the prophet and the and abak and Omar IMI said I'll follow
[30:37]the prophet of the sun of the Prophet I asked you if
[30:43]the Sunnah of abak andar was the same as the of then
[30:49]what's the need to put such a clause just say will you
[30:54]follow the of isn't that true why do you have to say
[30:56]will you follow the sunah of the prophet of Abu Bakr and
[31:01]of Omar because they were different sunas everyone every Muslim has never
[31:10]uttered the word in his life never did not seek to finish
[31:20]the whole Quran in a prayer in his life when you base
[31:27]your whole worship of hour in the holy month of Ramadan on
[31:32]what on a on a a of who if this man is
[31:40]somebody who receives from the heavens okay whatever he says I'll take
[31:44]but if it's a man who's a normal human being then how
[31:46]could I take what he gives tells me as we said clearly
[31:53]here in this Hadith clearly here is saying what on that Omar
[32:02]says what an excellent Innovation and religion and I'm telling you do
[32:06]you know how much this is where I say that sometimes a
[32:10]person when he tells the Shia you protect Ali so much you
[32:13]look after Ali you praise them the same is with the Sunni
[32:18]world if he makes F angry there has to be a protection
[32:22]if he disagrees with there has to be a protection if innovates
[32:29]something for example he innovates something which wasn't part of the Sunnah
[32:33]or he prohibits something which was part of the Sunnah we have
[32:36]to find a way to protect that even if we have to
[32:39]say that this is a for example this so many went into
[32:45]linguistic and he discussions about which is acceptable which is not but
[32:52]even when I read or whether or the they all are clear
[32:59]saying that it is known as a because it's the first to
[33:05]do this we don't have to go elsewhere even here you see
[33:11]for example I have with me next to me here the of
[33:13]Muslim by with the full commentary of Imam and nawi translated and
[33:22]edited by who by Salah volume Five you could all see volume
[33:26]Five the Islamic found Foundation icmg Australia you could all clearly see
[33:32]here as well published 2021 rights managed through 1575 Sydney Road cellfield
[33:40]Victoria Australia 3061 now you come here sah Muslim volume Five the
[33:45]book of The Travelers press again very clear nothing's hidden that very
[33:52]clearly you will see the Hadith here again nowi talks about it
[33:56]but then there is an explanation a textt explanation that comes where
[34:04]he tries his hardest to talk about the issue Hadith number 1557
[34:08]over here my dear brothers and sisters if you come to Hadith
[34:12]1557 mentions that God's messenger marked out a small area of the
[34:14]shat and he went out to pray there this means that he
[34:18]placed a shat around this area so that it would Shield him
[34:23]when praying there okay thus no one would pass in front of
[34:26]him as he prayed he would be able to concentrate fully on
[34:29]his prayer to do so is permissible provide that it does not
[34:31]inconvience other worshippers in the mosque moving on the prophet did not
[34:34]keep this area for himself all the time he only did so
[34:36]for his night worship and then integrated the place with the rest
[34:39]of the mosque during the day as mentioned by Muslim in a
[34:43]later Hadith then the prophet stopped doing so at night and during
[34:47]the day instead he resumed offering Sunnah prayers at home if the
[34:53]Muslims out there you tell them you don't pray you don't pray
[34:58]the in the most many of them will lose their look in
[35:01]the of Muslim instead he resumed offering sunah prayers where Sunnah prayers
[35:07]at the home if we could go back to the book please
[35:11]the Hadith shows that it's perfectly permissible to offer sunah prayers in
[35:14]the mosque and that it's also permissible to offer prayers that are
[35:19]not obligatory in congregation it is also to join in congre someone
[35:24]who starts to pray without intending to be an IM need a
[35:26]congregational prayer my God then look at the explanation for something the
[35:31]Hadith further shows that it's right to abandon a good thing when
[35:34]a greater negative thing is feared as a result the prophet was
[35:41]very tender-hearted in dealing with his community who clearly weren't they were
[35:43]angry and throwing pebbles at his face thinking always of what benefits
[35:48]them and serves their interests this Hadith mentions that everybody look at
[35:53]this this Hadith mentions that the prophet's companions threw pebbles at his
[35:59]door look at how he wants to defend them Allah abbar who's
[36:01]more important the companions of the Prophet they did so to alert
[36:04]him thinking that he might have forgotten um uh clearly the prophet's
[36:12]angry and if someone's trying to remind me um I wouldn't get
[36:18]angry with them secondly you're reminding the man who's got the most
[36:22]perfect brain on creation's History you're reminding him yeah you are reminding
[36:30]him anyway you are reminding him may Allah bless all of you
[36:35]now what today then happened in the Sunni world what happened what
[36:41]happened was Omar himself tells people to pray this prayer in he
[36:45]himself prays at home number one number two it starts off his
[36:51]11 by the end of 10 years as it ends up being
[36:55]20 plus three of the witer then by the time we move
[36:57]on to the and later on by the time we move on
[37:01]to Malik's opinion it ends up being 36 plus three if I'm
[37:06]not mistaken the Han the Sha agree on one whereas the Maliki
[37:09]goes on to 36 plus three please explain to me what's the
[37:13]do you know it even reach the stage because it's called so
[37:15]you need a break yeah you need some break you need some
[37:19]rest between four four there's a long prayer people even thought you
[37:23]know in our break time let's do ta people start doing ta
[37:27]around the Kaa w B after after after all the B originate
[37:34]from who from the second khif W if it was me saying
[37:36]but bukari and Muslim all of them are the ones who are
[37:41]leading us to the conclusion that Omar himself doesn't deny says yes
[37:44]yes I'm the one who did this now what did the imams
[37:49]do about this because was there from let's say the period from
[37:57]13 after to 23 after hij and thenan from 23 after to
[38:04]where to 36 after then IM came in when im Ali came
[38:06]in were people praying the Salah yes they were people were praying
[38:12]the Salah when im Ali had come in now when im Ali
[38:18]comes in does he stop people from praying the Salah or not
[38:25]let me go to one of the most important works that our
[38:28]jurists use the people of Hadith use people of theology use and
[38:33]that is of the renowned great let me go to it over
[38:42]here we have it should be here with us excuse me I'm
[38:53]sure it's somewhere here yep here it is my dear brothers and
[38:56]sisters IM Muhammad shout out to the people of Ja for the
[39:18]great that they produced in Beirut all of you could see this
[39:31]book is a few hundred years old but is a book that
[39:36]allows you to look at the heritage of the Shia this one
[39:40]I have in front of me is what and I see over
[39:45]here all of you could see at home that we have volume
[39:48]Five in volume Five there is a discussion and this discussion highlights
[39:55]IM Ali's opinion On's okay if we all go page 192 all
[40:06]of you could see this in front of me number two you
[40:12]have the isnad of course which is given to us here of
[40:26]course of course now here we have the question being asked about
[40:38]Salah in the holy month of Ramadan what is asked all of
[40:46]you could see this here IM Ali tells IM Hassan to call
[41:11]out that there is no Salah in the month of Ramadan in
[41:18]the mosque in meaning what meaning there is no such thing as
[41:22]a recommended prayer that you pray in Jama in the holy month
[41:27]of Ramadan because these people were praying this prayer of Omar's so
[41:32]now it continues by saying what when the people heard IM H
[41:46]say this no J you don't pray this prayer this as it
[41:48]was later called in J what did they all shout look at
[41:53]what they shouted everybody at home the people did not shout Allah's
[42:02]name not even Abu bak's name what does he say im aliam
[42:23]said what's that shouting what's that noise what's that sound so the
[42:29]people are screaming oh Omar Omar Omar Omar holding on to the
[42:35]teachings of Omar say to them pray IM aliam is saying no
[42:49]they say Omar Omar and that really Remains the slogan in the
[42:55]Sunni world that if I'm going to be truthful do I hold
[42:58]on to IM Ali hin blatantly and do I even mention them
[43:02]sometimes and people mention them sometimes as much as not more yes
[43:08]we do we do because we believe they're the path to if
[43:12]you look in the Sunni world you will find that the same
[43:16]is for that in the Sunni World they held on to Omar
[43:23]irrespective of whether Omar said it's a that wasn't practiced by now
[43:29]let me move on to the next again everybody at home page
[43:37]19 193 of we're gaining insight into what into what happened when
[43:43]im became number one they shouted number two here we have thei
[43:55]and he continues there is interesting given by where he of course
[44:04]Praises Allah subhana waala over here and then sends his blessings on
[44:07]the prophet and then he says he begins to tell the people
[44:21]about what he fears for them and it clearly looks like it's
[44:25]a period of schism and difficulty and then he begins by saying
[44:29]how those who ruled before him just in case there are some
[44:34]Shia out there who say that Imam aliam had no issue with
[44:37]those who ruled before him and he had no problem with them
[44:41]and they are to be taken as rightly guided well here is
[44:44]quoting very clearly what does he say yes to what very clearly
[45:16]he says that those who came before me were those who did
[45:21]what were those who went against the teachings of alai purposely broke
[45:30]the Covenant changed what they changed his imagine how strong the words
[45:40]are of IMI I ordered the people to not come together in
[46:09]Jama and do Jama in Salah accept that Salah which is obligatory
[46:20]and I made it clear that their Jama or praying in congregation
[46:26]was an innovation then some of those of the soldiers who fought
[46:39]alongside me they called outl oh people of Islam the of Omar
[46:49]has been changed when this man says you cannot pray the recommended
[46:54]prayer in and I feared that these people would Revolt simply because
[47:14]I said to them that this is a the man admitted it's
[47:19]a I am telling you you cannot pray the in people ask
[47:26]what did IM aliam think of those before him he felt that
[47:33]they changed theah of Al and here clearly we see that the
[47:37]was clearly Changed by these people and that's why it's not a
[47:42]surprise today when you see that there were companions who even differed
[47:48]about that Sunnah and there were imams of later on who gave
[47:51]their opinions do you pray at home or do you pray in
[47:55]the mosque Omar is saying MOS who becomes the leader of your
[48:01]sect or you have to ask your conscience at the end my
[48:07]dear brother and sister it's up to you what you decide you
[48:11]have your grave I have my grave but when you ask us
[48:13]as for us there is no such thing as something nice you
[48:18]read the Quran it seems so spiritual what my prophet ordains and
[48:22]I must be clear on this as well that later when people
[48:26]in the principles of jurus started to say things like whichever school
[48:30]this is at the end of the day I follow the teachings
[48:34]of this opens the doors for people to start bringing in their
[48:42]own teachings felt that you know what I have my no one's
[48:46]stopping me people can talk as much as they want I think
[48:50]it's a a good it's continue generation after generation after generation sometimes
[48:55]you see people praying this prayer with the best of intentions some
[48:59]are yawning some are sleeping some are trying to hang in some
[49:02]are trying to delete all of their sins for the year listen
[49:07]you could do this by yourself there's no harm but in did
[49:10]not do this then who are we to do this we welcome
[49:14]as you know there is a number which is available for all
[49:18]of you to call in and those of you who have questions
[49:19]at the end of the day if there are those who have
[49:24]questions they want to call in they want to ask or they
[49:27]have points they they want to raise but for us I think
[49:30]it is sufficient that we see whether it's sui whether it's bukari
[49:34]whether it's Muslim whether it's Abu da all of them have been
[49:42]very clear and for us Above All Else what say is what
[49:47]we follow someone might even turn around and say well what if
[49:49]it's in your sh literature again if something's literature is theith or
[49:54]is it something that has reached or is it of the again
[49:57]these are all open for discussions and they're all open for scrutiny
[50:00]as well but inshallah those of you who want to send in
[50:06]your questions please feel free every night inshallah we will all be
[50:09]together as we continue to try and understand why some of us
[50:11]practice certain things and why some of us refrain from certain things
[50:18]may Allah subhana wa ta'ala bless each and every one of you
[50:21]do not forget me in your prayers inshallah and all of you
