[0:03][Music] [Music] hey brothers and sisters welcome to another of our tafseer
[0:34]sessions where tonight we look at surah 100 of the holy quran
[0:41]this particular chapter of the holy quran is one which is very
[0:48]close to my heart because it's a chapter that's highlighted to me
[0:52]more than ever just how oppressed imam gave more to islam than
[1:09]anybody around him and one would expect this considering he is the
[1:14]student of the holy prophet peace be upon him and his family
[1:18]when i say he gave back towards the religion of islam i
[1:22]would add he gave back more to humanity than anyone around him
[1:26]because imam ali alaihissalam was not just for the religion of islam
[1:29]there are non-muslims who admire imam ali alayhi the first point i'd
[1:36]like to make is when we say he gave back what do
[1:41]we mean normally when you say someone has given back you could
[1:46]say that they've given charity and true there's no one as generous
[1:50]as him or you could say that someone has given for example
[1:54]from their time and true he gave his whole life to the
[1:56]religion of islam and nobody has given back in knowledge for he
[2:05]is the door or the gate to the city of knowledge but
[2:11]there's one particular area which all of us in the muslim world
[2:19]recognize to a certain extent him giving back and that was his
[2:24]bravery and valor because when we grew up what did we most
[2:27]associate imam allah with his bravery do you agree as in if
[2:33]you look at muslims around the world today you'll find that you
[2:39]may be ashi living in lebanon you may be a non-shii living
[2:43]in turkey but one symbol that remains important for you is you
[2:51]agree that sword and the way it was used to defend the
[2:58]religion of islam is highlighted in certain circles as in if you
[3:05]were to ask people in our community namely imam ali al-islam's greatest
[3:09]moments on the battlefield the prophet peace be upon him family is
[3:13]a tradition this religion would not have spread were it not for
[3:19]the wealth of khadija or the sword of if you ask many
[3:21]muslims out there what's his greatest performance on the battlefield there's four
[3:29]of you here there's many watching online if i was to ask
[3:34]you and the cameraman who are with us what's imam salam's greatest
[3:39]performance on the battlefield which battle would you tell me for example
[3:43]your personal favorite honey so we've got two of you too we've
[3:56]got the rights and we've got the honey knights interesting that imam's
[4:01]salam mentions both of them in his in front of yazid and
[4:08]sham i am the son of the man who fought at bader
[4:11]and that's for you guys is mentioned also they say that is
[4:16]mentioned as we all know all muslims know what imam ali al-islam
[4:23]did it's one thing where we look at these battles and we
[4:27]straight away associate imam ali alayhi salam with an immense amount of
[4:30]bravery on that battle why because firstly jihad being one of the
[4:36]forum i deen is not easy it's easy for us to talk
[4:41]about jihad i can sit here and talk about jihad in the
[4:42]sense of wood jihad i mean the jihad on the battlefield of
[4:45]course jihad and nafs has its own place you can have someone
[4:48]who's a great warrior on the battlefield off the battlefield he slaps
[4:51]his wife and is a wife beater real jihad is at home
[4:56]not when you're facing an enemy but there's no denying that being
[4:59]on that battlefield you're facing certain personalities who are ferocious warriors and
[5:05]not anyone can face them one-on-one there are certain boxes in the
[5:10]world people don't want to face now no one wants to face
[5:14]tyson fury why why wouldn't anyone it's good payday but you'll know
[5:18]there's little chance of you winning nobody like to face floyd mayweather
[5:22]those boxes are people who there are many boxes around but doesn't
[5:28]mean that one-on-one they're going to defeat them the warriors at badar
[5:35]and that and that khandakan the main generals in those battles even
[5:41]thus companions of the holy prophet peace be upon his family were
[5:44]scared of fighting them well what scared literally now me and you
[5:50]might say look at them they're scared but it could have been
[5:54]me and you we might have been scared if we saw for
[5:58]example or we saw for example the likes of marhab oh we
[6:11]saw others such as malik on the day of these these are
[6:16]these are ferocious warriors they're arab-trained warriors and they are not just
[6:23]trained in medina they have a training also with the romans they
[6:27]have good relations with the romans there are tribes like venusalem who
[6:31]are best friends with the romans so they would have known certain
[6:36]crafts of the romans and some of these guys had traveled in
[6:38]the deserts they're not scared of animals in the deserts so that
[6:41]guy on the battlefield at better or at uh or at hand
[6:46]i don't know how many of us guys sitting over here would
[6:50]have faced one-on-one i tell you what i would have thought 100
[6:53]times about it why would i deny when a man can come
[6:56]in front of an army and say to them who's going to
[7:00]take me on one on one you know at school you could
[7:03]have those guys who are brave when they got their boys around
[7:07]them or alone he's not but then there's the one guys that
[7:09]you know i take you all on even ten of you it
[7:12]doesn't matter if i'm i'm going to take you all on so
[7:15]when i'm facing amr and i'm facing marhab you can have very
[7:18]famous companions with the prophets who are scared to face them or
[7:24]who face them and may come back without victory if you study
[7:30]those battles why do i say imam allah is oppressed why me
[7:35]and you we just mentioned do you know how many lives had
[7:42]to be sacrificed for us to realize that imam ali was that
[7:45]great in those wars because even until today there are barami or
[7:51]programs on television in the middle east when they talk about these
[7:58]battles there's 30 seconds mentioned on imam over the whole battle we
[8:03]were victorious because of him versus a hundred of the would you
[8:06]agree we were victorious because of what him versus marhab when it
[8:13]comes to uh how many run away they'll talk about that generally
[8:21]people ran away okay if that many people run away at that
[8:25]battle then there must have also been some who stayed with the
[8:29]prophet and of those who stayed with the prophet they'll say for
[8:33]example this person that person this person and imam ali there was
[8:36]also a couple of others there was actual aim and a plan
[8:41]in islamic history a movement whether the umayyids or the abbasids were
[8:48]talking the first couple of hundred years of the ridge of islam
[8:51]to try and delete the merits of imam ali either in tafsir
[8:59]of the quran or wheel of the quran or the ahadith literature
[9:05]so now when many children go online and they type the battle
[9:12]of khandak in the non-shia world it's glossed over what he did
[9:18]with amri there are many who don't recognize or understand why we
[9:24]love imam allah some of the love that we do but we
[9:27]love him because we're looking at a moment where islam is in
[9:32]a precarious situation underline this line this word islam is in a
[9:37]precarious situation when islam is in a precarious situation it sometimes requires
[9:44]someone to say i'm going to lay down my life at this
[9:47]moment knowing full well that this is such a sensitive moment for
[9:53]this religion that this religion can end unless someone does something about
[9:57]it because we were finished we were finished and the prophet said
[10:04]call him you know the save the day quote because the rest
[10:08]of you are a shambles in all honesty the rest of you
[10:13]the quran had to make a point that you ran away hold
[10:17]on if your problem is jannah it means if i kill you
[10:21]you're going there so why don't you fight me unless you don't
[10:24]believe in his jannah and you're just publicly saying you believe he
[10:29]has a jannah umar been was at least frank when he said
[10:33]i don't see janna and jahannam whereas the mulk of ray i
[10:39]could see whereas some of these amr nawaz said to them hey
[10:42]but we were lost and again the man comes to save the
[10:48]day the reason we have an attachment to imam allah is because
[10:51]we recognize that without imam ali salam this religion in many cases
[10:55]would have been finished the reality would have been finished he is
[11:02]the believer's pious one descendant of the prophets annihilator of the polytheists
[11:08]commander of the faithful glorious glory of the worshipers honorable of the
[11:11]cries iman's was the first to come to the call of allah
[11:19]and his prophet and did not disbelieve for even the twinkling of
[11:26]an eye history tried its hardest to delete imam ali's merits and
[11:32]sometimes in the shiite community even we felt trapped to that someone
[11:37]says 100 if you were to do a survey of a hundred
[11:45]shia in london today 95 of them would not know it's revealed
[11:55]in honour of imam is only 11 or so ayats but 95
[12:06]of the shia who read the surah forget the others the others
[12:11]were brought up in a world where you don't give that much
[12:17]merit to him and if you do it quickly whereas with us
[12:22]i was amazed to notice that when i would discuss surat al-adiyat
[12:27]with people and i would ask them do you know who was
[12:32]the victorious one in reference to surat al-adiyah they're like saying what
[12:37]you mean one of the greatest performances on the battlefield which allah
[12:59]swears by in the quran was in the surah imam there was
[13:13]a program which is available on youtube it was called you know
[13:21]on some of these middle eastern channels they have programs and the
[13:24]aim of these programs was competition and people call in and there'll
[13:29]be someone presenting and and she or he will say for example
[13:33]we're going to ask you one question and if you answer it
[13:35]you go to umrah hajj and you know a lot of people
[13:40]for example in egypt and other places i remember you can type
[13:43]this on youtube if you want all the viewers can type this
[13:50]who is or who was the leader of the battle of that
[14:02]three options multiple choice we deserve a multiple choice did something wrong
[14:26]to your parents i'm not understanding he might have to your great
[14:29]great great great great great great great great great great great great
[14:35]great great grandparents and that hecked of bedroom may have remained men
[14:42]forget the fact that it's on whatever channel was cm and uh
[14:47]nbc or something like this you know they have muslim ramadan forget
[14:51]that ask the one who claims to be a muwali men how
[15:05]many in our communities attack each other bring each other down a
[15:10]simple question they can't answer don't enter a world where you slag
[15:16]off others when there is a surah revealed about imam ali and
[15:18]the battle you don't know about i was flabbergasted that the followers
[15:23]of imam ali is this whole surah referring to his enemies are
[15:46]about those who had hassan towards him and the i as in
[15:52]his praise are about what happened on that day someone says explain
[15:55]to me what's the context of maraca the middle eastern channel says
[16:08]this is the difference when i take my tafsir of the quran
[16:12]from the likes of qatar or mujahid and i take from the
[16:19]likes of prabhasi ali bin ibrahim yes what's the difference when i
[16:25]take from sheikh tusi and i take from alibi ibrahim and i
[16:29]take for example from atlanta or i take from rawandi i am
[16:35]taking from those who tried to bring me the evidences from imam
[16:38]assad do you agree from imam al-baqarah if i go to others
[16:41]such as qatar or they're going to bring me the opinions of
[16:47]those who came from other than imam assad [Music] ask many in
[16:58]our communities today habib enter you claim to be a muwali give
[17:01]me seven of swords different issues to deal with surrounding him a
[17:14]couple of years before he died medina had now been established when
[17:18]your country is established don't you have enemies on the borders enemies
[17:22]can be on the borders enemies can be within sometimes you have
[17:27]enemies within so the first group of enemies he has to deal
[17:29]with ahu and one african wants to cause problems in your state
[17:38]he wants medina to form second group of people we have to
[17:42]deal with after the fate of mecca which sort of did we
[17:46]do about fat which sword did we have an ayah where allah
[17:49]talked about in fat you guys should be quick on this which
[17:54]saura had the word fat inside it and we said that whenever
[17:59]you win a war you always quote the ayah about the great
[18:02]conquest the great victory ascent after the second people has to deal
[18:10]with are the ex-cons been in prison what do i mean being
[18:18]in prison being in prison in the sense that these are the
[18:20]ones who you said you are allah gets out now you've got
[18:24]deal with them the ones that's teslimo they became muslim in the
[18:27]eighth year after hijra a couple of years before rasulullah died there
[18:30]when he became muslim he became muslim because he believed in islam
[18:34]or because you know what let me just become a muslim and
[18:36]then tarabas will begin in between the circles yeah so you had
[18:40]for example the monarch these guys were enemies of islam for years
[18:50]eight year after hijrah mecca's opened all of them become muslim third
[18:57]group i have to deal with ahu the meccans they're always going
[18:59]to be a problem they're still fourth group i have to deal
[19:05]with other jews the jews in medina the issue they want the
[19:12]whole government of all what's khaibar what's quraytha fifth group i have
[19:16]to deal with who are they the romans at that time who's
[19:21]the biggest threat to islam rome rome the christian missionaries they were
[19:27]a major threat to the religion of islam therefore when they're a
[19:31]major threat to the religion of islam the romans had links with
[19:34]some of the arabs they're like listen muhammad's got so powerful what
[19:37]are you guys doing and the arabs would tell them listen we've
[19:40]tried everything we've tried to go through his companions fight them in
[19:43]battle we've tried to do treason deceit we're not getting through rasulallah
[19:50]had got through better just about go through go through gandak got
[19:56]through khaibar got through all of these battles this time he receives
[20:01]the report what's the report saying ya rasulallah we have a problem
[20:06]so what is it say rasulallah prophet of god twelve thousand of
[20:12]the arabs of sulaim bani sulaim are ready to attack medina outright
[20:20]how many 12 000 are ready to attack medina and they want
[20:32]your blood because now they cannot take this anymore that you've won
[20:40]every battle they want to have your blood rasulallah what did he
[20:45]do there are some wars he leads what do we call them
[20:52]in arabic a war led by rasulallah is a war led by
[21:03]rasulullah what if rasulullah doesn't lead a war what's it called is
[21:13]a battle led by who personally he's at the battlefield what if
[21:19]he doesn't come saria sometimes why do they call it because he's
[21:30]there leading it sometimes no he sends someone to be in charge
[21:37]if the holy prophet peace be upon him his family sends someone
[21:40]to be in charge of a batol we call it sariya when
[21:46]these people were coming to attack they were now working with the
[21:54]romans and they were working with the other arab tribes rasulullah sometimes
[21:59]what would he do sometimes he would already have people informing him
[22:02]you know how if you lead the country on the borders you're
[22:07]always checking who's doing what customs immigration you're checking everything you're checking
[22:10]all the paperwork they came to the holy prophet peace be upon
[22:14]him and his family and when they came they said you're gonna
[22:18]have to deal with this rasulallah did not straight away just send
[22:23]the saria he sent according to some opinions three different ones because
[22:28]where were these people camped they were camped about 150 kilometers from
[22:34]medina so they've all come how many of them 12 000.
[22:39]these are bloodthirsty arabs they want it and the romans have already
[22:43]told them listen you get him out we give you high positions
[22:47]when they came the holy prophet peace be upon him and his
[22:53]family the year before had already noticed how the romans fight because
[22:55]the year before this battle or around around the same time as
[22:59]uh that is just before it you had the battle of motta
[23:03]who died in that baton jaffar and so the prophet has already
[23:12]been aware that the romans are trying their hardest to finish islam
[23:16]when romans represent who christianity and so they want to finish this
[23:24]new religion that is emerging according to our traditions he would cast
[23:29]lots sometimes to see who would lead the battle if you choose
[23:34]someone so igor you're favoring if i always choose you because i
[23:40]know you're the bravest these guys will say why you favor so
[23:45]according to some opinion sometimes draw lots whoever comes out of the
[23:52]lord sometimes no maybe he sees someone who he thinks lets him
[23:55]go and be the one who represents us who did rasulullah decide
[24:00]should go and lead abu bakr with a good few thousand men
[24:08]maybe four thousand abubakar's record on the battlefield is virtually non-existent and
[24:15]when i say this i say it looking at islamic history i
[24:21]said i'm not saying it because i want to cause any differences
[24:24]between people and then they you want to follow who you follow
[24:27]is up to you i have never seen a moment on a
[24:30]battlefield where abu bakr stands up to amrit or when abu bakr
[24:38]did try and lead against marhab nothing happened and i don't randomly
[24:46]follow who i follow i look on the battlefields and i'm like
[24:48]well if you couldn't defeat marhabandis you know abubakar went he told
[24:58]them you submit to the religion of islam or you live here
[25:01]within peace otherwise we will fight you those guys straight away said
[25:04]come on let's do this he went back some of the companies
[25:06]were why are you going back i said i'm going back i'm
[25:10]the best judge came back rasulallah was disappointed who led after him
[25:16]similar to haybar omar took the banner he said i will take
[25:19]with me thousands of men and we will fight them again on
[25:27]the battlefield even before he became khalifa and even i would say
[25:30]after he became khalifa when he became khalifa while islam expands into
[25:38]different territories you don't really see him in the midst of the
[25:42]battlefield i will put forward and admit you could see khalid in
[25:45]the midst of a battle you can't deny that i cannot deny
[25:49]that there were others who were known as warriors no image of
[25:55]um is always created as if he is known for his bravery
[25:59]and so on again amrapna with marhab reality is they looked at
[26:05]him and said na when i said there was a television program
[26:10]in the middle east called what what was the name of the
[26:13]program number one they gave them three choices because the third person
[26:34]to lead against these people was amras in the narration supposedly tells
[26:44]the prophet i'll have these i'll finish them i am cunning and
[26:49]truly he is and i'll be able to find a way around
[26:56]them holy prophets allow abu bakr went came back nothing omar went
[27:01]came back nothing again tries to fight them again cannot get through
[27:09]them the prophet peace be upon him and his family said i'm
[27:13]going to give a banner to a man when he goes on
[27:18]the battlefield he does not run away or the farin you can
[27:25]have farin who are people who run away from baton farah you
[27:30]know there is a man who is kara he don't run away
[27:41]ah they once asked him why do you have a slow horse
[27:47]although this surah indicates that the speed of the horses they were
[27:50]using i'm going to come to shortly but once the person said
[27:54]so why oh ali do you have a slow he goes firstly
[27:57]i'm not going to run after anyone who's running away from the
[27:59]battle so i don't need a fast one nor will i ever
[28:02]run away from anyone new this is not going to be an
[28:12]easy one when he knew it wasn't an easy battle or he
[28:17]was in that mood for a ferocious war father would see in
[28:22]his eyes that day he said to her get me my red
[28:30]horse and my yemeni cloak when he says that that means i'm
[28:36]going to go into a battle which is going to be vicious
[28:40]she looks at him you sure you're going to be okay is
[28:43]that you don't worry and why would you worry if allah grants
[28:47]me shahad is that not the best but those intimate moments between
[28:50]imam ali and father are very interesting because although she is that
[28:53]the highest level of faith it still shows you yet not as
[28:58]high as him never put fatima ahead of ali imam ali his
[29:06]father imam he said children don't worry and if i do die
[29:11]on this bachelor what's the name of the battle that is salah
[29:15]i asked you earlier what's the best performance you said you said
[29:23]allah didn't swear by the way the battle happened in the quran
[29:30]he did buy this imam ali gets the red horse yemeni sheet
[29:35]or cloak and now he's ready was amongst those and the i
[29:46]as we'll reveal later if we say that there is a mistake
[29:47]towards it was of those who was now envious of the imam
[29:56]why abu bakr tried nothing omar tried nothing tried nothing this man
[30:07]the prophet says doesn't run from battle already the feelings of animals
[30:12]already hates ali from before let's be very frank my dear brother
[30:17]sisters if you don't believe me just go later on to safin
[30:19]and you'll see how that hate continues non-stop oh son of nabi
[30:26]of course we don't call him ammun we realized that wasn't his
[30:30]real dad so with us what happens is that's the son of
[30:35]nabira starts to get jealous why because why is it that imam
[30:41]ali is leading and also number two what does ammunitis begin to
[30:45]do when you're fighting these arabs do you fight like anyone else
[30:52]fights no you gotta think twice about how you enter you don't
[30:57]just go straight in you see if they've already seen three guys
[31:01]come through the same way what they thinking another one is going
[31:05]to come through the same way imam ali went completely opposite to
[31:08]the area where they are imagine there's a group of guys in
[31:17]that part of the road you go and cross there hey bro
[31:19]we're here so what he took the direction to iraq there in
[31:25]the opposite direction he's taking the road that would event that could
[31:28]lead you all the way to methelen there's an army on the
[31:34]a40 where have i gone towards i've gone towards the m1 not
[31:37]reach the m1 i'm heading towards the m1 if we imagine the
[31:42]hangar lane roundabout isn't there an exit the a40 can you not
[31:46]go on the a406 you can see how much waze has destroyed
[31:50]my head can you not go on the a406 and drive towards
[31:53]where m1 so if i'm on the hangar lane roundabout they tell
[31:56]me there's a gang on the a40 i'm like you know what
[31:58]i'm coming for the gang and then i'm going through the a406
[32:00]someone's going to be like what's happening with the others the first
[32:08]signs of the head of he makes the scene what's the scene
[32:13]that he makes he makes the scene by saying ali cannot lead
[32:17]in these types of battles in a way has never been on
[32:25]imam ali's side in battle so in a way he has not
[32:28]really seen imam ali on his side because always the other side
[32:34]says whoever obeys allah and his prophet comes with me and whoever
[32:41]wants to obey another way goes with him normally if you're going
[32:49]to prepare for a war in the night what you're going to
[32:53]do in the night what you're gonna do when you're preparing for
[32:57]a war you're gonna have a if you make plans to actually
[33:02]start moving in the night when you the opposition's asleep they thought
[33:10]imam ali taking the a406 means that he's missed the trick they
[33:15]don't realize you can see me walking towards there because the moment
[33:19]you turn around and go back to your tents i turn around
[33:24]at that moment there's a particular angle of a roundabout where i
[33:29]can't see you anymore but we're still in the roundabout but there's
[33:33]an angle of the roundabout that i can't see you anymore the
[33:38]moment that i realized that you can't see me and now you're
[33:42]thinking let's have a good night's sleep that's the more i'm like
[33:46]turn around time to enter and finish these guys allah loved the
[33:53]performance of that man that night that night and day because there's
[33:59]an ayah here which says all of you can see it clearly
[34:02]later on there's a he loved the performance of imam ali al-islam
[34:09]so much at that because he knew what a amazing performance it
[34:14]was that he didn't just swear by that battle he swore by
[34:22]the way the horses attacked furiously the first five six irons actually
[34:35]first five eyes are all allah subhana wa ta'ala swearing by imam
[34:42]ali's performance that day but through what it doesn't say i swear
[34:47]by ali it begins to talk about the scene describing to you
[34:58][Music] the unbelievable momentum gathered just by the horses led by ali
[35:12]if i describe well sometimes i like you see the flow of
[35:26]sediomani and the way that he moves on the battlefield of that
[35:33]particular champions league semi-final when he went through the defense and you
[35:38]could see the sweat pouring from his head journalists in football love
[35:46]to write in that way because more intriguing is good cristiano ronaldo
[35:52]lionel messi squad so-and-so it's different when you describe the momentum and
[36:01]the thrust and the way that he ran through the pitch at
[36:06]anfield as if the grass was flowing for him that description is
[36:09]what allah would be vivid in its description of how the horses
[36:17]drove through this army bismillah wabaha the arabs used to prefer the
[36:32]female horse them they're called mares if i'm not mistaken and they
[36:36]tend to be faster there's not many of these horses by the
[36:39]way don't think that imam allah led 150 soldiers in i wouldn't
[36:45]say more than 10.
[36:46]that's it 10 versus 12 000.
[36:52]8 versus four thousand and that's when imam ali is in that
[36:58]mood where it's just like hey guys you know what watch this
[37:01]this is all about me now there's a reason i am the
[37:08]sword of allah in contrast to others who were later named the
[37:18]female horses the horses which are what the breathing of a horse
[37:26]when you're standing next to a horse you don't hear much but
[37:31]if you hear a horse galloping in full thrust you hear the
[37:34]actual what do they call it like snorting of a horse it
[37:38]makes that noise where you you could tell it's in full movement
[37:43]and you can imagine this is rasulullah it's not at that so
[38:02]by the horses that are going so fast that you can hear
[38:07]their breathing what ha is that they are galloping so fast that
[38:23]the fire and sparks are coming out of the ground when this
[38:28]man's galloping to this army because that hoof look at the description
[38:34]description is unreal description is unreal the horses that are breathing going
[38:43]through the opposition so fast that their hooves have sparks coming out
[38:51]of them so they ambush the opposition in the morning that takes
[39:11]place in the morning why because i went past the roundabout you
[39:16]guys thought that i'm going to go to bed i ain't going
[39:18]to bed i'mma leave them you know what i'm going to do
[39:20]i'm going to come through you guys the whole night when you
[39:23]wake up you're going to see my horse coming through you you
[39:26]know what they used to always say they used to always say
[39:31]that we look forward to ali because all these stories were going
[39:35]on for years that there's a young man called him and we
[39:39]can't wait to get him and here the quran is describing you're
[39:48]really taking that horse through the enemy lines but that horse you
[39:53]can even hear it sound because in the morning when i'm just
[39:56]waking up and i can suddenly i imagine imagine those guys woke
[39:59]up and they're like you know what we're going to finish this
[40:02]guy off oh my god who's that guy coming with that horse
[40:05]like that and there's fire everywhere sparks on the ground dust do
[40:24]you know what's happened the way these horses are going so fast
[40:30]and the way this battles happen you can't even see the battle
[40:33]there's just dust everywhere and there's one man who's going through it
[40:37]and that man when he goes through a battle he doesn't lose
[40:45]be he is interesting by the way bihi bihi means to go
[40:54]straight immediately in you don't hesitate straight into the ground into the
[40:57]place where there's a war for ef dust it's gathered everywhere and
[41:03]it happened as well when you thought when they couldn't see what
[41:06]was happening they saw him walk out come back walk out and
[41:08]when they saw him they said what happened he said because he
[41:11]spat at me i don't strike anyone who spits at me because
[41:12]that angers me i only destroyed those but you know when anyone
[41:16]fights in the deserts what you don't see because you just see
[41:19]that dust he went immediately into the middle of all of them
[41:31]you see it's one thing when i'm like yeah bro come come
[41:34]i'll fight you now i'll fight you now another is like i'm
[41:35]in the middle of all of you come on the middle area
[41:45]he went right into that middle area of all of them 120
[41:53]from him alone dead i can sit here in london a thousand
[41:58]years later and say imam ali his sacrifice is something we can
[42:11]never do you can never understand because that day the romans the
[42:18]hypocrites the meccans the jews and who else was there and the
[42:25]ex-convicts they were all expecting that that was the day it would
[42:29]end allah subhanahu wa ta'ala said no i swear by the horses
[42:39]of this man and i swear by the sparks on the ground
[42:42]and the breathing of the horse and the dust as it gathered
[42:47]and how he stood in the middle of all of them he
[42:51]was able to bring victory for the muslims on that day why
[42:56]is it called that is like chains that is because he chained
[43:00]up the ones he caught and he's like you're all coming back
[43:04]with me and you shame them up because if you see ali
[43:09]on a horse when you've just woken up you're gonna get chained
[43:15]you're not gonna turn around you know sometimes you've got these films
[43:19]in hollywood where there's that ferocious warrior that there's like five people
[43:22]saying okay okay you know that's it we're not gonna fight you
[43:24]anymore because you've realized that this guy's just finished 20 people that's
[43:28]hollywood this is real that is it means he captured them took
[43:33]them back when he took them back rasa when he hugged him
[43:49]straight away tears were flowing from imam ali's eyes you know rasulullah
[43:54]said if it wasn't for the fact that i'm scared the muslims
[43:58]will do to you what the christians done to jesus i would
[44:01]praise you so much more that even the dust you walked on
[44:06]under your feet people would find their blessing to touch that victory
[44:12]allah swears by in the quran that is we're going to take
[44:18]a very short break because i want us to see on the
[44:23]one hand you have a man who gives everything for allah on
[44:25]the other hand you've got men around him whose intention is completely
[44:29]opposite and have no gratefulness come back to me in 30 seconds
[44:35]to one minute we'll continue with welcome back were we grateful that
[44:47]we had people like rasulullah i don't think we were grateful some
[44:56]of us might have been there were many who unfortunately were not
[44:59]grateful for having such a man and you could see in the
[45:04]way they dealt with imam salam after rasulallah died i always make
[45:11]this point you know every muslim agrees of the lines men kuntu
[45:16]maula every muslim agrees but they differ on the meaning of the
[45:23]word molar some say it means master first and authority others say
[45:27]it means friend let's say it means friend whoever i am the
[45:35]friend of ali is the friend of did they treat him like
[45:38]a friend after rasulallah died even the meaning of maula as friend
[45:42]even if we agree that mawlana means friend jamel was friendship safin
[45:48]was friendship that was friendship that's how you treat a friend i
[45:52]ask anyone the battle of gemma when they fought imam ali companions
[45:57]fighting companions on the day of judgement god answers in the next
[46:17]there's two points to take on board the general tafsir of this
[46:22]ayah is man is ungrateful to his lord i'm telling you ungrateful
[46:26]you have alibaba you fight him this man who saved you when
[46:32]you were humiliated by marhaban amrapnawid saved you at honain when you
[46:39]were humiliated on the verge of tariff saved you on that salah
[46:44]when you were humiliated by the arab of sulaim and others but
[46:48]what are you you're like the rest of humanity and generally means
[46:56]ungrateful particularly means what when you distance yourself from someone that's the
[47:01]meaning of leckenwood when you are ungrateful you are someone who has
[47:06]distanced yourself from allah is what they call an arabic grammar they
[47:13]refer to it as what many of you would have studied this
[47:22]in extremely ungrateful not just ungrateful extremely ungrateful the people at that
[47:32]time were ungrateful for the blessing of allah really they were ungrateful
[47:37]and if i put next to la canoor i'm going to put
[47:41]alongside it a word which one not just because the hasid to
[47:51]imam ali [Music] is ungrateful i gave you amongst you a man
[48:10]of wisdom like ali knowledge ali bravery ali i gave you spirituality
[48:16]in ali what did you do you know what man is and
[48:24]man is ungrateful sometimes even us we're ungrateful why just them even
[48:33]us how much or how many of imam have we studied in
[48:35]our spare time how many of us have opened the khotab just
[48:39]in the nih alone and try to read in our spare time
[48:42]instead of playing these nonsense games on our phones a person can
[48:47]enjoy themselves in life don't not enjoy something but make some time
[48:50]to get to know your imam otherwise you'll fall in that trap
[48:56]of innal insane and one thing he's a witness to it he
[49:02]knows he's been ungrateful do you think andre abner didn't know what
[49:07]imam ali was nobody could write poetry on imam ali like his
[49:15]enemies meaning to distance oneself from allah and the favors of allah
[49:27]and the blessings of allah deep down we know better than anyone
[49:32]that we are witnesses to the fact that we've been grateful ungrateful
[49:35]to allah in our life we know there are moments we haven't
[49:39]even bothered to praise salah and we know we're going to go
[49:43]to sleep without praying salah and we don't need someone to give
[49:47]us a medalist on it deep down we know we've been ungrateful
[49:49]that whole day you earned money if you didn't earn money you
[49:53]walked around you breathed you ate your mom and dad's food you
[49:55]lived with your mom and dad you enjoyed your parents company your
[49:58]wife's coming whatever and at the end you can't sit on the
[50:01]prayer mat for five minutes what is that they were ungrateful for
[50:11]what allah had given them in rasulallah the second meaning is what
[50:18]is that no they were ungrateful to allah's blessings generally who you
[50:31]know sometimes at the end of these battles or gaza or let's
[50:35]say you know what their concern is the spoils of war associated
[50:54]with money wealth if you look in surah 2 verse 180 surah
[51:04]2 verse 180 she quotes this particular ayah when fedex happens this
[51:14]is the ayah which makes writing a wasabi means wealth when you
[51:58]love someone is always good for you but will you try and
[52:05]get the number why is it good for you but you love
[52:13]the person will you go through anything to be with her even
[52:17]if it causes havoc for everybody else yep hob is the idea
[52:22]that you persist in finding something that you love not knowing if
[52:26]it's good for you or not you fight for it incessantly because
[52:35]most people ask them what does hobby mean says love no no
[52:40]hob means i persist in getting something which i absolutely want and
[52:44]i don't know if it's good for me or no but i'm
[52:47]gonna get it they in their love for her again question it
[53:00]means that money wealth allah doesn't have a problem with it he
[53:04]actually calls it but beware can also reach a level where you're
[53:10]so addicted to it that there are some of us our life
[53:20]is money and do you want to know the symbol of that
[53:21]how stingy we are with money you think no it's spending la
[53:28]the one who's worships money it's it time you're reached a level
[53:41]where you're tied up with money that you cannot be untied la
[53:48]deed wherein when it comes to their wealth you'll see them loving
[53:57]it a love where they cannot untie themselves from that love sometimes
[54:05]earning is something which is the quran says but it can also
[54:11]be sha i can earn the quran has no problem with me
[54:14]being rich but don't reach a level where you're so tied with
[54:19]money you can't untie when you therefore say shadi the idea of
[54:25]means when you look at them they're ungrateful to their lord they
[54:29]know they're ungrateful no one can tell them they're not but when
[54:34]it comes to wealth look at the difference in their attitude when
[54:37]it comes to money how many of us when it comes to
[54:41]salah we don't have the same commitment as when we're meeting someone
[54:42]who can make us money with allah we won't turn up to
[54:47]the meeting on time of salah but when it comes to someone
[54:49]who's going to give us money or make money for us we're
[54:53]going to be like make sure you're there on time then he
[54:54]doesn't like people being late interesting line don't you realize that one
[55:12]day we're actually gonna have you guys out of your cupboard but
[55:17]here the idea is what we're gonna have you resurrected out of
[55:21]that couple not even out some of you will come out standing
[55:24]someone will come out upside down you who are ungrateful to allah
[55:30]and your witness to this don't you remember don't you forget why'd
[55:34]you forget don't you know that one day we're gonna what i
[55:39]thought is this ideas we're just gonna throw you out enter you're
[55:43]chasing all this wealth and you can't untie yourself from that chase
[55:50]don't you realize there's a day which whatever is in the cupboard
[55:53]is going to be thrown out the next verse is unreal you
[55:57]want to be a dentist here is and what is in the
[56:09]door and the breasts are made apparent you know when you extract
[56:17]the tooth you extract everything one thing you don't want to leave
[56:21]behind if you're taking that wisdom tooth out is that something left
[56:23]there of the tooth can be a nightmare you also don't want
[56:28]to leave behind any of the cotton which you guys keep there
[56:29]because that can bring bacteria is complete dissection and extraction so therefore
[56:36]we're gonna get you out of your graves we're gonna extract everything
[56:41]that you guys had even hidden inside whether you hid it towards
[56:48]ali on the day or others of you who hid other things
[56:52]because what is it this exposes their lord that day shall be
[57:21]most aware of them in behemoth takes it further every bit of
[57:45]the reality of you externally and internally we will bring out that
[57:49]day and i'm aware of all of it khabar every bit of
[57:56]your news is going to be made clear that day so khabib
[57:59]goes a bit more than you people who try to hide certain
[58:04]feelings to ali because of what he did those of you who
[58:09]are ungrateful to allah's choice on the earth others of you who
[58:12]are ungrateful to the lord we're going to extract the way you
[58:17]extract that truth the way you extract something from something we're going
[58:22]to do such a clean extraction because i'm aware of every single
[58:26]thing that you had hidden and every single thing that you're amassed
[58:28]will all be made public on that day therefore this surah is
[58:34]a surah an honor of the unbelievable bravery and valor and passion
[58:38]and sacrifice of imam ali alayhi salam to whom we owe so
[58:44]much and our gratefulness should be shown in not just loving him
[58:48]but trying to have that same passion that we should have in
[58:53]honour of the lord and the message of the lord insha allah
[58:56]we will continue on wednesday was allah [Music] [Music]
