[0:00][Music] [Music] Heat.
[0:12]Heat.
[0:18][Music] The holy month of Ramadan is the month of reflection.
[0:36]We reflect on the beautiful teachings of the Quran.
[0:42]We reflect on the powerful words of the prophet Muhammad sallallahu alaihi
[0:45]and we reflect on the mesmerizing words of the commander of the
[0:55]faithful.
[0:56]Here are 10 words from Imam that will change your perspective on
[1:02]life.
[1:03]10 beautiful words through which the Imisam describes the reality of this
[1:09]dunya of this world.
[1:10]Many times we get carried away.
[1:12]We get tempted.
[1:14]We get enslaved to the materialistic dimension of this world.
[1:18]We drown in this world.
[1:24]Immiam through these 10 words teaches us what this world is all
[1:27]about.
[1:28]If you look at it from a materialistic perspective, according to one
[1:33]of the sermons of Imam was asked describe to us the world.
[1:41]Now Imam who is the master of eloquence.
[1:44]There is nothing that he cannot describe.
[1:47]But this world is so dangerous.
[1:50]It's so confusing.
[1:53]IM Ali says, "How do you want me to describe this world
[1:58]for you when it's filled with challenges?
[2:00]Where do I start from?" Let's look at these 10 words one
[2:05]and two.
[2:09]How do you want me to describe a world that starts with
[2:15]difficulty and it ends with destruction?
[2:18]When we are born, we cry.
[2:22]It's the first time that we're breathing oxygen directly from our lungs,
[2:28]using our lungs.
[2:28]We are very uncomfortable.
[2:31]We see light for the first time.
[2:35]It's disturbing for us.
[2:36]You're born in difficulty with difficulty.
[2:40]And then as an infant, you grow up.
[2:44]Sometimes you get sick.
[2:47]You have a fever.
[2:46]You have an upset stomach.
[2:47]And then you're teething.
[2:51]It's difficulty after difficulty.
[2:52]And then you are a toddler and that comes with its set
[2:57]of challenges as you're exploring the world.
[2:58]And then you have to go to school and then comes your
[3:02]adolescence.
[3:03]And then is it over?
[3:04]No.
[3:04]Now as a young adult you have to establish yourself.
[3:06]You have to complete your education.
[3:10]You have to struggle so hard to find a career.
[3:12]Is it over then?
[3:14]No.
[3:15]Now you have to get married and you have to build a
[3:17]good family.
[3:18]You have to raise righteous children.
[3:20]Life comes with a lot of difficulties.
[3:22]Imam Ali says, "How do you want me to to describe this
[3:27]world when it begins with difficulty and it finishes with destruction?
[3:32]Everything that you build, you have to leave.
[3:35]You have to leave your business one day.
[3:37]You have to leave your house.
[3:38]You have to leave your fancy cars.
[3:40]You have to leave that cash, those stocks, those cryptos.
[3:42]You have to leave all of that.
[3:46]That's the end.
[3:46]And this body that you spent so much time taking care of,
[3:51]softening it, making your hair shiny, beautifying your looks, all those cosmetic
[3:56]surgeries, you have to leave that body to the dust of the
[3:58]earth.
[3:59]That's one and two.
[4:01]Three and four.
[4:05]The imam says, "Look at these qualities of this.
[4:10]The halal has a reckoning.
[4:12]Accountability comes with halal.
[4:14]Some people think just because they're doing something halal, they're entitled to
[4:19]it.
[4:20]No.
[4:21]Allah will ask you, "How did you use resources on earth?
[4:26]Did you waste them or no?" Even if you're engaging in a
[4:28]halal activity, if you're not being purposeful, if you're being wasteful, Allah
[4:32]will hold you accountable.
[4:33]On the day of judgment, when it's a very long day, it
[4:38]could be 50,000 years for some people, Allah will question you about
[4:41]every activity you did in this world that was not purposeful, that
[4:45]was not useful, that was not productive.
[4:49]Even the has it comes with accountability.
[4:53]As for the haram, there comes punishment with it.
[4:58]You're between accountability and punishment.
[5:01]That's the true nature of this world.
[5:03]Five and six.
[5:06]The one who's rich in this is tried.
[5:12]And if you're poor, you're sad and sorrowful.
[5:17]Whether you're rich or you're poor, you will have your struggles in
[5:22]this life.
[5:23]As for the rich people, their money, their wealth is a source
[5:27]of trial.
[5:29]How?
[5:30]First of all, many wealthy people don't have peace of mind.
[5:33]Just research this.
[5:36]Google this up.
[5:39]Many rich people, their mental health takes a toll because they're constantly
[5:45]worrying about securing your wealth.
[5:47]It's one thing to make money, it's another to keep it.
[5:50]They're constantly trying to figure out what investment should I consider?
[5:54]Where should I put my money?
[5:55]If I put it in stocks, the stock market can crash.
[5:59]If I put it in crypto, crypto can crash as well.
[6:03]Real estate can take a hit.
[6:05]What do I do?
[6:06]This preoccupies the minds of most wealthy people.
[6:11]Secondly, the more money you have, the more resources you have, the
[6:18]more potential for corruption and arrogance.
[6:20]Even even the Bible here has a very interesting statement.
[6:27]It's attributed to prophet Isaam that he said the following.
[6:29]You can find this in the book of Matthew and in other
[6:32]gospels.
[6:32]Now we do believe that there is some truth in these gospels.
[6:37]These these gospels have captured some of the statements of prophet Isaam.
[6:43]In this very interesting analogy, according to Matthew 19:24, Jesus said, "Again,
[6:52]I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through
[6:55]the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to
[7:01]enter the kingdom of God." Now, this doesn't mean that all rich
[7:04]people are doomed, but many are because they spend their wealth not
[7:11]in the obedience of God.
[7:12]Their wealth drags them to corruption to arrogance and they don't fulfill
[7:18]their responsibility of taking care of the poor.
[7:21]And we have a similar wording in the holy Quran.
[7:28]You can find this in verse 40.
[7:29]Allahh states those people who reject the signs of God, who are
[7:40]arrogant, they disbelieve in God, the gates of the heavens shall not
[7:43]be open to them, and they will not enter heaven except if
[7:53]the camel were to pass through the eye of a needle.
[7:56]meaning it's impossible for that to happen.
[7:59]So this is an expression to say it's impossible for them to
[8:03]reach that mercy of God and go to heaven when they insist
[8:05]on their arrogance and corruption.
[8:09]And that's how Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala will deal with the evildoers
[8:17]with the criminals and imam teaches us that even the rich they
[8:21]have their trials and those who are poor they're always sad they
[8:29]feel miserable they always want something they may not have that contentment
[8:33]even though there are some poor people who are truly content and
[8:36]those who are they are at peace So if you're rich, you're
[8:40]going to have your share of trials.
[8:42]And if you're poor, you're going to experience sorrow and sadness.
[8:46]This is the reality of this world.
[8:48]Seven and eight.
[8:54]One of the true realities of this world is that those people
[8:59]who kill themselves to run after this world often times they will
[9:03]not reach what they want.
[9:03]the world will slip away from them.
[9:07]And then those people who are content, they don't pursue the world,
[9:12]Allah subhana wa ta'ala sometimes gives them the world.
[9:16]Some people and I'm sure you personally know people like that.
[9:20]They never pursued fame, they became famous.
[9:24]They never pursued recognition, but they achieved recognition.
[9:30]Some people did not kill themselves to be rich.
[9:31]But Allahh opened paths for them and they became rich.
[9:35]And then finally 9 and 10 that's nine that's 10.
[9:48]The ninth word of imam in this short sermon is that if
[9:55]you use the world to see as a lens to see it
[9:58]will give you insight.
[10:02]If you use the world as a means, as a tool to
[10:04]reflect, to see the reality of life, the world is very honest
[10:11]with you.
[10:09]Yes, the world deceives you, but at the same time, it's very
[10:14]honest with you.
[10:14]Go to the graveyard in the cemetery.
[10:16]Did the world ever lie to us and tell us you're going
[10:21]to live forever?
[10:20]By taking people from our lives, your parents pass away, friends pass
[10:25]away, people in your community passing away, the world is telling you,
[10:28]hey, you're next.
[10:30]The world is not lying to us.
[10:32]If you look at the reality of this world, you see someone
[10:36]who's rich, they may lose their wealth overnight.
[10:38]You can see wealthy mansions in Los Angeles and the fire will
[10:42]destroy them within hours.
[10:44]There's no stability in this world.
[10:46]If you have your hopes and your wealth and money and power
[10:51]that can be taken from you overnight and the world has shown
[10:55]you too many examples.
[10:58]Where did the world lie to us?
[10:59]When did the world lie to us?
[11:00]How did the world lie to us?
[11:03]We allow ourselves to be deceived.
[11:06]So if you use the world as a lens to see the
[11:09]reality of life, the world will give you insight.
[11:15]But if you look at the world, if your object is the
[11:20]world, the world will blind you.
[11:21]Just like the sun, we use sunlight to see everything around us.
[11:26]It gives us light.
[11:27]But if you were to look at the sun directly, it will
[11:32]blind you.
[11:30]Never look at the world directly because it will blind you.
[11:35]Beautiful powerful words from the commander of and in this month of
[11:45]Ramadan let us reflect on these golden words so that we bring
[11:48]ourselves closer to Allah subhana wa ta'ala so we know the reality
[11:54]of this dunya and we don't put our hopes in this dunya
[11:56]and fall into the traps of this dunya.
