[0:00]You saw in the 1st station, that Khums is under siege in
[0:05]a way that majority of people are distanced from it..
[0:08]except a limited minority of Ahlulbayt followers.
[0:11]This minority however, faced a major problem.
[0:14]The problem was..
[0:16]I, might've paid my khums..
[0:18]but how can I interact with people who haven't?
[0:23]How can I sell, buy, eat and drink when Imams have forbidden
[0:28]interaction with unkhumsed wealth?
[0:30]For Instance..
[0:31]Abu Baseer a companion of Imam Baqer..
[0:34]How can he buy a house or clothing from a person who
[0:38]doesn't believe in infallible imams, let alone khums?
[0:41]when he himself heard Imam Baqer said: "Nobody is permitted..
[0:45]to buy anything with khums money..
[0:48]until our rights are delivered to us" What should he do when
[0:53]everybody around interacts with unkhumsed money?
[0:57]Ishaaq ibn Ammar a companion of Imam Sadeq heard Imam said: "No
[1:02]one is excused to buy anything with khums and say O, God..
[1:08]I bought it with my own wealth until the authority of khums
[1:12]permits him" In the face of such warnings, surely a devout would
[1:17]be fearful and confused.
[1:19]Is it reasonable for Imams who aim to guide all humanity, ask
[1:23]their followers to live remotely from the society and not interact with
[1:27]them?
[1:27]Surely it is not so..
[1:29]Because Imam himself urged Zaid Al Shahham: "Associate with your tribe attend
[1:34]their funerals visit their sick and pay their dues..
[1:39]because when any of you is pious in his religion, truthful in
[1:43]his words, trusted in his bonds, and good-mannered towards the people..
[1:47]They will say..
[1:48]He is a Ja'fariy (follower of Ja'far) and that makes me happy
[1:51]and he caused me that happiness." If Ahlulbayt urged us to coexist
[1:56]with the society, regardless of their religion or madhhabs, we can't do
[2:01]that away from their wealth.
[2:03]Shopkeepers sell you stuff..
[2:05]neighbours invite you to a meal you carpool with your colleague..
[2:08]etc So..
[2:09]what's the solution?
[2:11]Just a moment..
[2:12]Let's go back to hadeeths and pay a close attention..
[2:15]Imam Baqer describe khums as "our right" and Imam Sadeq said "until
[2:21]the authority of khums permits him" So there's a way..
[2:26]Since khums is their specific right, then we ask their permission..
[2:29]Therefore, the believers started asking permissions and inform each other about asking
[2:35]permission..
[2:36]The Imams said we will not burden you more than you can
[2:39]and these transactions are halal you.
[2:41]Imam Baqer explained that permission is there since the time of Imam
[2:45]Ali and not issued recently.
[2:47]He said in front of three of his companions; Abu Baseer, Zurarah
[2:51]and Muhammad bin Muslim: "Amirul Mumineen Ali bin Abi Taleb peace be
[2:56]upon him said; People are doomed by their bellies and genitals, because
[3:01]they have not delivered to us our rights, but our followers and
[3:06]their ancestors, thereof, are excluded.
[3:09]Another case is reported by Yunus bin Ya'qub He said..
[3:13]I was with Imam Sadeq, one enters with the same problem..
[3:17]how can he transact while there is unkhumsed wealth..
[3:20]and also was unable to abandon his trade..
[3:22]He said: "May I be sacrificed for you..
[3:24]Come to our hands, gains, wealth and transactions, we know they include
[3:30]your right..
[3:31]and we have come short about it...
[3:34]Imam Sadeq said: "We would not have been fair to you if
[3:38]we were to burden you in that day" And because some of
[3:44]the believers were geographically distant or something prevents them to visit Imam,
[3:49]we can see that they made it easy by making the permission
[3:52]general and distributable.
[3:53]It's obvious in a hadeeth narrated by Hareth bin Mughirah when he
[3:57]asked Imam Sadeq..
[3:58]"I said to him..
[3:59]We have wealth from crop yields, transactions etc I know your share
[4:05]is in it..
[4:06]He said..
[4:07]Whoever stayed loyal to my ancestors, he is excused of what is
[4:12]in their hand concerning our rights..
[4:14]Let the present informs the absent." This way..
[4:17]a collection of hadeeths have formed that later became known as "permission
[4:22]hadeeths" meaning permission regarding khums.
[4:24]These narrations in themselves were another form of trials.
[4:26]Because there were three types of reaction..
[4:28]Some, not wanting to pay all along, said we won't pay khums
[4:31]anymore, as long as there are hadeeths annulling it.
[4:34]They adopted the hadeeths and circulated them..
[4:35]while completely ignoring hadeeths necessitate khums.
[4:38]On contrary, some understood things sensibly..
[4:41]they knew these hadeeths were to lift uneasiness and a permission to
[4:46]transact with others' wealth.
[4:47]They don't mean abolishment of khums entirely.
[4:50]Then there's third party in between..
[4:52]We hear Imam gave some permission, but the money is precious..
[4:57]let's go to him maybe he'll permit some more or even lift
[5:00]the obligation altogether.
[5:01]Indeed, Muhammad bin Zaid narrated a case of this kind..
[5:05]He said..
[5:06]A group of people came from Khurasan to Imam Ridha..
[5:11]They asked him to exclude them from khums obligation He said: "It
[5:16]is so impossible..
[5:18]You show pure love to us by your tongue but you distance
[5:22]from us a right..
[5:23]Allah has prepared for us and prepared us for it.
[5:27]We do not We do not We do not exclude anyone from
[5:32]you." Moreover..
[5:34]Imam had to write a letter to make them understand that khums
[5:37]still is wajib..
[5:38]and the permission is limited.
[5:41]this letter has to explain to us the reasoning behind khums, and
[5:45]why it is necessary to guard this financial income under the religious
[5:49]leadership.
[5:50]Imam wrote: "Khums is our aid for our religion..
[5:53]for our relatives, for our followers and for the expense we pay
[5:59]to guard our honor to people we fear their onslaught.
[6:02]So do not distance it from us and do not prevent yourselves
[6:06]form our prayers as much as you could.
[6:08]Indeed, to release it, is the key to your sustenance, cleansing for
[6:12]your sins and something you prepare for your Day of Need.
[6:17]Muslim is who fulfills his commitment to God, a Muslim is not
[6:23]who answers by tongue and defies by heart.
[6:27]The End.
[6:30]Now we understand the meaning of "Permission Hadeeths" and whether the Imams
[6:35]gave up their rights or not.
[6:36]Although the first group of people still have another try to abolish
[6:41]khums based on what Imam Mahdi said in his letter to Ishaaq
[6:47]bin Yaqub: "Those who are involved with our wealth and deem it
[6:53]permissible and consume it, they comsume but the fires of hell.
[6:57]As for khums..
[6:58]it is halal for our followers..
[7:00]and they are made excused of it.." Why they fight for this
[7:04]hadeeth in particular?
[7:05]and why they take it as proof that khums is abolished?
[7:08]They answer..
[7:08]because this is the last hadeeth came from the Imams about khums
[7:12]and it says khums is not wajib..
[7:14]from now on until the appearance of Imam Mahdi.
[7:17]Nice..
[7:18]But does the word of last Imam differs from that of the
[7:22]first Imam?
[7:22]Is this something new?
[7:24]or does it have the same meaning and purpose and a continuity
[7:27]of the same permission given by the previous Imams?
[7:30]Especially when he was at the beginning of Ghaibah Kubra..
[7:33]He had to clarify his position towards his ancestor's permission..
[7:37]To see it clearly..
[7:39]pay extra attention in the next minute You might need to pause
[7:42]the video and think..
[7:43]And of course without us getting into details..
[7:46]because the details belongs to Ulama's circles and the study of narration..
[7:50]is much more grand than our videos and words in social media.
[7:55]Brothers and sisters..
[7:56]put the previous hadeeths in front of you..
[7:58]make a line here..
[7:59]here..
[8:00]here..
[8:01]here..
[8:02]here..
[8:03]and here..
[8:04]and in our current hadeeth..
[8:06]here..
[8:07]Look at the recurrent theme in them..
[8:09]They all begin with prohibiting interaction with unkhumsed wealth..
[8:14]and they describe it as 'our right' and oppression towards ahlulbayt's rights.
[8:18]Pause the video and see it for yourselves..
[8:20]and now..
[8:20]make a line here..
[8:22]here..
[8:23]here..
[8:24]here..
[8:25]here..
[8:26]here..
[8:27]and in our current hadeeth..
[8:30]here..
[8:30]You'll see that there's a recurrent theme as well..
[8:33]about permission and making it easy for the Shias when they have
[8:38]to interact with these wealth..
[8:40]Stop the video again and reflect a bit..
[8:42]So..
[8:42]the letter of Imam Mahdi..
[8:44]is not about abolishing khums or bringing new ruling that they can
[8:48]say we dismiss the hadeeths from previous Imams, and hold on to
[8:52]last Imam's word.
[8:53]If we truly respect Imam Mahdi's letter, let's go back a few
[8:57]lines in the same letter..
[8:58]we'll find..
[8:59]"Concerning your wealth..
[9:02]we do not accept it except for you to be purified..
[9:05]Whoever wants..
[9:07]Can relate..
[9:08]and whoever wants..
[9:09]can severe.." As in..
[9:11]whoever wants can believe and whoever wants can deny..
[9:14]They can't see this phrase?
[9:16]and before a few lines there was..
[9:18]"Concerning upcoming events..
[9:21]refer in them..
[9:22]to the narrators of our hadeeths.." Go see a scholar and ask
[9:26]them..
[9:26]But unfortunately..
[9:28]they don't see anything except..
[9:29]"..made halal to our followers.." The summary of this station..
[9:34]The Imams didn't let go of their rights..
[9:36]The Believers used to come to them and said: O Masters..
[9:38]I know you have a permanent share in people's wealth..
[9:41]But permit us to interact with it..
[9:43]This is the meaning of 'Permission Hadeeths' they don't mean; that's it..
[9:47]they can consume Imams' share.
[9:50]The truth is, If hadeeths that state 'khums is obligatory' was one
[9:53]or two, we can forgive those who hide them from the people..
[9:57]and show only 'Permission Hadeeths' But is it sensible?
[10:00]You want to hide this countless amount of hadeeths and to ruin
[10:04]a Divine obligation..
[10:05]just because you have a mental problem with Najaf?
[10:11]Thanks for watching!
