[7:26]ta'ala fajita he'll carry Makalu hot allah subhanaw taala states in the

[7:52]latin abba-zaba al cobb b-cell is small for succour Gardel iman allah
[7:59]subhanaw taala in this verse verse number 11 is a bit long
[8:06]he says speaking to the believers o you who believe let not
[8:09]a people make fun of another people nor should women make fun
[8:17]of other women lest they be better than them and do not
[8:22]divulge your secrets and do not call each other names surely it
[8:27]is a terrible state for one to go from a state of
[8:33]belief into a state of corruption allah subhanaw taala then continues to
[8:38]say speaking to the believers again ya ayyuha alladhina amanu h stainable
[8:45]kathira mina van in abhava van nathan wattages sassou well i Ichabod
[8:51]oakum bobba hype o hadouken my Akula Lama he matin for character

[9:05]subhanaw taala also speaks to the believers he says o you who
[9:11]believe do not fall into conjecture don't fall into thinking things that
[9:21]aren't real you see when you fall into conjecture some of what
[9:27]you think might be wrong and cause you to fall into sin
[9:37]and do not spy on one another and do not backbite and
[9:43]then he describes backbiting in a very very gruesome fashion he says
[9:50]does one of you like to eat the flesh of his brother
[9:58]while still alive is that not hated to you is that not
[10:04]disgusted by you surely allah subhanaw taala is all forgiving and all
[10:12]merciful sadaqa la Valliere darlene i'm in ávila brothers and sisters a
[10:20]cinema Hanukkah moment allahi wa barakaatuh now the topic that i chose
[10:26]for today the title is what about my rights now as we
[10:31]went through the last few nights we learned quite a few things
[10:34]we decoded life we decoded ourselves we got reacquainted with who we
[10:40]are not who we think we are but who truly allah subhanaw
[10:43]taala created us to be we understood that our self-worth comes from
[10:47]he alone and no other we understood that our purpose and life
[10:54]is to please him to show gratitude to him to he alone
[10:56]and no other and that that now that I understand is the
[11:02]purpose of my life I asked myself how is it that I'm
[11:09]going to fulfill this great purpose and I came to realize logically
[11:12]that it had to be that every faculty that God has given
[11:18]me must be dedicated to he and he alone and so yesterday
[11:21]we got to a point where we spoke about how important it
[11:27]is to be able to control ourselves what are the things that
[11:32]sabotage us we spoke two lectures ago about physiologically and neuronal e
[11:39]how is it that we can sabotage ourselves by not thinking rationally
[11:44]by being reactive and the reason for that is because of this
[11:49]little almond-shaped creation that allah placed in our brains called the amygdala
[11:54]that's there for fight and flight to protect us from dangers and
[12:01]yet we tend to circumvent our neocortex our rational mind by doing
[12:06]what by falling into being reactive all the time and we said
[12:11]that the reason for that is not just a neuronal cluster that
[12:16]circumvents and bypasses the neural cortex but the fact that we ourselves
[12:21]haven't taken the time to train ourselves and practice in order for
[12:29]us to go into the regular way of rational thinking so that
[12:33]when we hear something or see something that when those signals go
[12:37]to our thalamus they're not circumvented by that cluster reactive cluster instead
[12:42]they go directly to our neocortex where we can be irrational and
[12:45]we said that the way to do that metaphysically is to be
[12:50]able to practice and again and again and again that self-talk right
[12:54]Hadoken that language has to change from a language of negativity to
[13:03]positivity all of this is occurring where is occurring metaphysically within me
[13:09]but neuronal II physically it's actually changing my brain and therefore changing
[13:14]my actions everything then starts within my intellect starts within my heart
[13:24]so that I can control my Neffs and that I can slay
[13:26]that dragon I can control it I can control it and dedicate
[13:31]it towards Allah Almighty so that it becomes a Neffs that is
[13:35]neither Amara Basu North Allah wama not one that commands me to
[13:38]do ill anymore nor one that blames me every time I do
[13:44]something wrong because of my weak intellect because of my lack of
[13:47]training but rather it becomes one that is content of my own
[13:53]net and that that is how I want to meet my lord
[13:58]every minute of my day and yesterday we left with a program
[14:02]and that program was to split our day in thirds exactly did
[14:07]anybody try it very good anybody else very good and the program
[14:17]was that at the beginning of the day what we do is
[14:21]after prayer we make it to heart the door of an imam
[14:22]ja'far al-sadiq when a man one of his companions came to him
[14:29]and said to him I have a need and I need Allah
[14:32]to give it to me so he said to him do this
[14:33]door that's the door I gave you yesterday the end of the
[14:37]lecture and that is to go into prostration and to salute onto
[14:40]the table and to say what I sent ya until what happens
[14:47]till I'm out of breath exactly and then what do I do
[14:50]I ask Allah for what I want right and there are two
[14:58]things specifically that I told you to ask for what were they
[15:04]to mend you for Allah - Mendes and also what to protect
[15:09]us right from falling into sin exactly and that we were to
[15:16]do so in a specific way we were to use a specific
[15:17]code a specific formula what was that his name's which names yes
[15:26]I'm very good which means o immunize ur or protector and what's
[15:30]the other one yeah mostly very good that scent o he who
[15:38]mends all things now those who tried it today did you find
[15:42]that it helped you not fall into sin did it make a
[15:48]difference in your day at all it did I see some heads
[15:50]nodding okay good so today what we want to do is we
[15:57]want to really look deeper now into our rights because we did
[16:00]something yesterday and that was we looked at how it is that
[16:08]we can fall into false self-expression right today we want to talk
[16:14]about positive self-expression and how not to fall into that negative self
[16:18]expression and how to use first and foremost our tongues meaning our
[16:23]ability to speak as that is the means the sound box including
[16:29]our tongue that is the means with which we communicate not only
[16:34]with others but also with our Lord right so not only the
[16:38]internal metaphysical language but now the external language whatever comes out of
[16:44]my mouth you know what's interesting is that this tongue can cause
[16:51]us to fall into so many problems we know that logically right
[16:55]I don't need to go through the logical argument but what I
[16:58]want to share with you is some statistics some figures and these
[17:02]statistics according to there's a website called stopped stop bullying Gulf has
[17:11]anybody heard of it the government of the United States has actually
[17:15]dedicated an entire website to bullying would tell which tells us what
[17:20]is bullying a problem in the u.s.
[17:30]yes it is this website states that 3.2 million students per year
[17:36]are bullied now bullying generally according to this website is through name-calling
[17:45]verbal abuse and physical bullying notice the first two have to do
[17:51]with something your tongue does the last one is physical a hundred
[17:55]and sixty thousand students skipped school per day because of bullying per
[18:05]day 17 percent alone in the u.s.
[18:11]it's reported are bullied twice two three times at least per month
[18:21]the CDC gives this that it says that four thousand four hundred
[18:32]deaths by suicide occur every year as a result of this problem
[18:37]forty four thousand $4,400 forty four hundred four thousand four hundred now
[18:46]what's interesting is that to every successful attempt at suicide there are
[18:54]a hundred failed attempts according to the CDC so those that attempt
[18:59]to but don't end up being successful 14 percent consider suicide because
[19:10]of this issue and seven percent attempted there are a hundred and
[19:18]twenty three suicides per day in the United States of America that's
[19:27]an astounding figure now in an article that I read by a
[19:33]PhD by the name of Daniel sonken he cites two works one
[19:46]done by Harvard Medical School by a professor there called Martin Teicher
[19:54]a professor of psychology and what he says is according to his
[20:01]studies verbally verbally abused youth so youth that are verbally abused they
[20:08]did brain scans on them and they compared those brain scans to
[20:15]those who were physically and sexually abused you know what they found
[20:20]they found that the same damage that is done to the brain
[20:24]of those who are physically and sexually abused is the same area
[20:29]exactly the same area and the same amount of damage as those
[20:33]who are physically abused as those who are verbally abused often so
[20:38]look at the damage that verbal abuse can do to someone verbal
[20:42]abuse can actually alter the human brain and damage it as much
[20:50]as physical abuse and sexual abuse in another study by scientists called
[20:59]marco lat kobani he did a study on couples and verbal abuse
[21:08]that occurs between couples okay now what his studies show is that
[21:15]couples actually neuronal II grow together right so you know how you
[21:19]might see these you might see this with your parents like before
[21:22]your mom says something your dad knows what she's about to say
[21:27]right or before your dad even comes home your mom already knows
[21:31]what most likely he feels like eating today right you ever had
[21:35]that and the reason why is because neuronal II they're connected and
[21:42]of course metaphysically there's a connection there too right because allah says
[21:46]in the holy quran lee Toscano alaihe that a marriage when you're
[21:52]a couple right it's a place of residence a place where you
[21:57]reside right and you know your home inside out right and it's
[22:01]that type of relationship now what's interesting is what does this study
[22:08]show this study shows that those couples that were verbally abusive to
[22:14]each other say the man is verbally abusive to the woman that
[22:18]the amount of neuronal damage that she would have in her mind
[22:24]in her brain was equivalent to that of someone who was physically
[22:27]abused first of all and secondly that there would be a deterioration
[22:31]in certain areas of the brain as a result of all while
[22:37]those who had good relationships with each other who always spoke to
[22:42]each other positively right both of their brains actually showed similar growth
[22:48]and similar change now the nice thing about this research is that
[22:54]it shows something really interesting and that is that this damage is
[23:00]irreparable it's not irreparable and this is a result of something a
[23:07]phenomena call in the human brain called neuroplasticity which means this ability
[23:11]to actually bounce back to be flexible right - almost reinvent itself
[23:20]as long as you do what as long as you reinvent yourself
[23:23]and your language and how you think about things now the question
[23:31]is why is it that someone is always negative right the scientists
[23:36]say that the reason why this happens is because of a phenomenon
[23:42]called withdrawal emotions now just to explain this idea really quickly when
[23:47]a person has a bad day right the first person that they
[23:53]tend to take it out on isn't someone that is unknown to
[23:58]them not a stranger usually right when we go home and we're
[24:01]having a bad day who hears about our bad day first and
[24:05]foremost our family right and even if we don't say a word
[24:12]that negative demeanor that we have right they pick up on right
[24:16]away say oh you're not talking as much today is everything okay
[24:20]right and what do you say you say yeah everything's fine it's
[24:27]all right there's nothing going on and then they'll bug you again
[24:32]and say are you sure are you sure nothing's going on I'm
[24:37]not sure you're okay cut off you look a little down today
[24:42]and then you'll be like nah no it's it's okay but you're
[24:46]that much closer to saying why right you're this way then the
[24:51]next time they come and say to you come on you can
[24:56]tell me okay it's all right you can tell me I'm not
[25:03]I promise I won't judge and then the floodgates open right now
[25:07]the floodgates when they open an equal amount on the floodgates when
[25:11]they open they can open in one of two ways Sargon mhmm
[25:15]module either the floodgates open up in an apologetic manner I don't
[25:24]know why this happened to me today this person at work or
[25:27]at school or my teacher or my prof.
[25:29]or whomever my boss right they just don't get it I'm trying
[25:35]to do a good thing and they keep doing this or I'm
[25:37]trying my best and I'm not just I'm just not getting it
[25:40]fast enough or I did bad on the exam again and I
[25:43]don't know why and I studied really hard or I didn't study
[25:45]enough for my exam and I know that I deserve this and
[25:48]you know I know I'm better than this but I keep making
[25:51]the same mistake and I don't know why I keep procrastinating I
[25:53]don't know what's wrong with me I don't know what's wrong with
[25:55]me I don't know what's wrong or it could go the other
[26:01]way all right get out of my face I don't want to
[26:06]talk about it right but you might say well you know I'm
[26:16]just gonna hit the gym Montella just gonna hit the gym you
[26:20]come back of course you're all pumped up and everything right but
[26:25]you're just as frustrated I mean you say oh I feel better
[26:31]but really just give it a few hours and you're back to
[26:33]thinking about it again because you have to face that person again
[26:39]what are you facing if it's a person that same negativity and
[26:43]that's affecting your brain that's affecting your mental state right so how
[26:50]do you get over that how do you get over them now
[26:56]modern science tells you and I mentioned this before being proactive changing
[27:00]your language and doing all that sort of stuff right today my
[27:03]goal is not to talk about that because we already addressed that
[27:09]part I want to address the issue of sarcasm I want to
[27:12]address the issue of you know conjecture and thinking things of other
[27:17]people thinking ill of other people and I want us to focus
[27:23]today on one of the most important rights that Imam Sajjad gives
[27:27]us because we prove that everything has a right all of our
[27:33]body parts right and we we said that our Imam said I'm
[27:35]a lion in Monrovia he said that everything has a sadhaka everything
[27:42]has a charity right and the charity of the body is the
[27:45]fast correct if you remember that hadith mentioned a few nights ago
[27:48]now I know that my tongue is like a sword sometimes and
[27:54]some of the things that it falls into is being sarcastic I
[27:59]mean I don't know an Arab who is sarcastic right that was
[28:05]supposed to be a joke how sarcastic I'm no Riley many of
[28:12]us we grow up in psychotic and sarcastic households unfortunately even with
[28:19]our buddies right now what's interesting about sarcasm is that it's a
[28:25]great escape mechanism right because you can never I mean you're joking
[28:29]but you're telling a bit of truth in there too so if
[28:32]the person says I can't believe you said that would you stop
[28:35]doing that what what did I say I mean oh it's joking
[28:36]right and so what happens is this uneasiness between you and the
[28:45]other person this blurry line it's not really a fine line in
[28:48]the sand where you can say I know where I stand with
[28:53]this person right it creates a sense of uneasiness this is this
[28:57]person like me don't they like me right oh I like the
[29:01]gel in your hair is small what was a little snicker what
[29:14]you don't like my hair no I said I liked it does
[29:18]he like my hair does even like my hair no or when
[29:24]for example a parent says what are you gonna go out like
[29:32]that to the Janna yeah what's wrong with what I'm wearing oh
[29:34]nothing I was just asking okay I better go change oh you're
[29:41]gonna go change well weren't you telling me well I didn't say
[29:46]anything what's interesting is this form of communication is actually poisonous and
[29:50]we don't even know it and the reason why is that sure
[29:58]it gives me a way to get out of my statement but
[30:00]that person now every time they talk to me they don't know
[30:05]the truth from the falsehood so what kind of neuronal pathways is
[30:10]this person building for me all right should I set it here
[30:14]should I not should I write there's this unease and that's not
[30:20]what Allah wants of us so what does it Imam Sajjad tell
[30:23]us he says well I'm a hopper listen ask for the right
[30:30]of the tongue for a crime or an antenna what are we
[30:38]do I'll fail Mahan know who Alan Adam where Adam ammo in
[30:42]Landover al Hajj at you when men fight in the dinner at
[30:47]dunya welfare and in foolish any I tell you pally little far
[30:50]is a Latina maneuver ro ha how can let you hide it
[30:55]here well you had to share the Lockley what danila la what
[31:00]I say you know luckily be luckily he has no Ciotti finish
[31:05]on it when a hotel of Allah what does that mean the
[31:19]Imam says he says look as for the right of the time
[31:22]as for the right of the tongue it says you shouldn't use
[31:29]it for profanity number one you shouldn't dirty that tongue with anything
[31:37]no four-letter words no four-letter words four-letter words are Haram they're actually
[31:42]prohibited in allaha ya'muru bil hardly will assign you were in her
[31:47]and in fashio he will not carry well buddy lost as an
[31:50]olive on he says God Almighty commands you to be just to
[31:58]be righteous and to stay away from anything that is obscene and
[32:01]profane come on shake time it's just a four-letter word doesn't mean
[32:06]it there it's not like a really meaning doesn't matter we proved
[32:12]the unlimited exists we proved in the last series that the Quran
[32:16]is truly the Word of God and therefore what he tells me
[32:20]I have to follow what does he say he says no profanity
[32:24]only righteousness yen huh he prohibits and in fashio when monk up
[32:34]until doing well bury in any form of deviation that's a transgression
[32:41]so how does this then apply to my tongue my tongue has
[32:48]to be righteous have to use it righteously I have to clean
[32:50]it out right I have to use proverbial soap don't go home
[32:54]and pick up some soap and wash your mouth out that's not
[32:57]what we're saying okay I know how dedicated all of you are
[32:59]masha'Allah to improving yourselves this month of Ramadan right I mean if
[33:05]you want to you can brush your tongue with toothpaste okay so
[33:10]what does he say he says for a trauma 1l hanim now
[33:15]the word it clung when I for example invite one of the
[33:21]brothers brother Ibrahim I invite him to my house willow cream who
[33:23]what does that mean that means that I'm generous with him and
[33:26]I'm gracious so how does the amount describe it he says look
[33:30]you have to be gracious to your tongue imagine that your tongue
[33:34]is a guest okay would you defile your guests would you would
[33:40]you be gracious to them and make sure that you're trying to
[33:44]them and that you're righteous to them treat your tongue as a
[33:47]guest treat your tongue as it is a trauma one in Hana
[33:55]and then what does he say he says whatta we do I'll
[34:00]fail he says in practice practice practice practice makes progress make it
[34:07]a habit for it to do good to be righteous so practicing
[34:12]the things ya habibi Abigail VSA javadi seda father Malley has Salam
[34:24]in Haditha Jesus illallah muhammadu an informant what does she say when
[34:31]the imam hasan her saying come into her house she says yeah
[34:34]well idea we are / - hi Nene what's the matter Filardi
[34:38]oh my son apple of my eye fruit of my heart is
[34:45]that beautiful wouldn't it be beautiful every time you come into the
[34:52]house that's what you hear of course you're all hearing in in
[34:58]the Iraqi families when you come home you're more likely to write
[35:03]or if you're Lebanese the enmity a bit right beautiful words you
[35:10]hi Nene was a moral authority now imagine when you talk to
[35:15]your brother instead of saying yo hey get up did I not
[35:24]tell you instead of that saying Habibi no Riley Oh light of
[35:32]my eyes my beloved Allah your VALIC may Allah be pleased with
[35:38]you I'm going to the Jannah I'll be waiting for you in
[35:47]the car don't take too long a loggin about it may Allah
[35:54]be pleased with you as opposed to yo I'm going to the
[35:59]JAMA alright you're ready you're ready or not I'm off right look
[36:06]at the difference and to make it a habit to introduce little
[36:13]things according to Charles Duhigg in his book the power of habit
[36:19]he says just make small changes do it for 36 to 38
[36:20]days for us we know we have the month of ramadhan 30
[36:25]days of just changing our habits and another six days that are
[36:28]known as the days of light after 8 I eat normally we
[36:36]start celebrate for two days so plus another six plus the 30
[36:40]that's 36 to 38 days we also know for those who know
[36:47]diet right the DA of allegiance to the Imam Hajus animal Ali
[36:50]that he who recites do I highlight for 40 days 40 mornings
[36:57]after salat al-fajr that he will be that he will be absolved
[37:01]of a thousand of his sins will be forgiven right and that
[37:06]if he chooses that he will be resurrected with an imam and
[37:09]Rajat and his appearance that's the power of changing habit and creating
[37:14]new one and it's as simple as reciting Adama and it's as
[37:20]simple as saying a lighter value-adding I love you please do the
[37:23]honor it's as simple as saying ya know what I mean ya
[37:30]Halim it's that simple but doing it regularly and every time you
[37:39]feel like reverting back to what was it which one was it
[37:43]Jekyll or Hyde which one was the bad one high dry every
[37:49]time you feel like reverting to hide right remember the words of
[37:53]an imam suggest what does he say after this he says what
[37:58]a Jamaa el animal harder to win man fatty daddy no internet
[38:02]and hold back it rains literally hold back its rings and muzzle
[38:11]it except except in those things that you absolutely need and have
[38:27]benefited in in what he says Victini with dunya near religion and
[38:31]in the world meaning that to seek nearness to Allah through your
[38:36]religion and to seek nearness to Allah through your daily living that
[38:40]worked for example at school for example right and then he says
[38:47]well a third one in foolish shaniyah a Tino kalila Telfer either
[38:53]Latino young man Aloha Martin Latoya he said and excuse it from
[39:00]doing this from falling into curiosity why because it has little little
[39:13]benefit and even less of a return now you say but chef
[39:16]Annette curiosity is how we discovered sciences how we had advances in
[39:21]technology right say to you yeah that's not the type of curiosity
[39:28]the amounts talking about right talking about you know that topic your
[39:31]us to you or you alike so you got a new job
[39:40]huh how much you're making hmm I thought so those are nice
[39:43]wheels how much were those dreams for where'd you get it from
[39:45]all right how'd you pay for it what do you care why
[39:51]is this your business right oh yeah so how was that exam
[39:59]yeah he flunked right yeah I know you flunked I know it's
[40:02]like I saw I saw your great I know I know your
[40:05]student ID number should I feel like Alaric why is it any
[40:16]of your business this is what the Imam is talking about this
[40:21]sort of curiosity has very little benefit then what happens what happens
[40:28]yo Ali you know I'm mad he's walking a little tall these
[40:38]days you know I think he's doing all right for himself you
[40:41]know what I think happened and then I start conjecture this happened
[40:48]and that happened then well you know I heard I heard you
[40:51]know this girl uh you know that one with the head job
[40:58]in the mosque yeah you know that one yeah I think one
[41:00]of the brothers for Len you know for LAN for LAN busy
[41:06]I heard he was talking to her and he wanted to get
[41:12]married to her what you know it didn't work out so there's
[41:15]still a chance [Music] what do you care deep down inside the
[41:32]research shows and we know but there's this deep feeling of jealousy
[41:36]right the more curious you become the more jelly eats away in
[41:47]you right it's just corrosive right toxic this is why the amount
[41:50]wants us to stay away from it that's why and this is
[41:55]why allah subhanaw taala in that verse what does he say and
[41:58]he speaks to the believers son speaks to the believers he's not
[42:00]speaking to non-believers saying oh you of faith you can fall into
[42:07]the stew so be mindful okay Laska monment Bowman but not of
[42:10]people make fun of another people do you know why I'll a
[42:14]mop-up Baba he gives a beautiful tips here and it's very simple
[42:18]he says the reason why is because this person could have done
[42:21]something that you don't even know about and it we a thousand
[42:24]times better than anything you've ever done in your life but you
[42:33]just haven't seen it so don't judge because when you are sarcastic
[42:36]what Allah he's got gel in his hair he's coming to the
[42:44]gym out with shorts you know I or heap read late you
[42:47]know look at this guy he doesn't have strong II Men how
[42:50]do you know maybe he prayed late because you know he had
[42:55]some sort of problem at school or his mom was sick or
[42:56]he came to the Janet Lee to pray extra right Antonia seek
[43:01]nearness to allah subhanho time oh you know how can you judge
[43:04]only unlocking judge so what does Allah say here he says that
[43:11]some women Clubman I say hakuna hominem cuz these people might be
[43:14]better than them well then he said on many said neither should
[43:16]do women so women don't think you're off the hook so Allah
[43:20]says all of you guys he talks to the men first of
[43:21]course plural form of men last hour moment : then he moves
[43:26]on to the women right he says and neither should women make
[43:32]fun of other women must they be better than that and do
[43:34]not divulge your secrets oh ho but she's my BFF chef Matt
[43:38]come on I can tell her everything okay everything she knows everything
[43:43]about me that's not a good thing then you wonder when you
[43:48]break off your friendship I can't but can you believe she put
[43:55]up on my pictures on Instagram oh my god she put up
[43:59]all my pictures my private pictures even was without her job she
[44:09]knows everything about you all right you did this to yourself han
[44:12]says all your secrets oh she's you know she's messaging stuff about
[44:19]me nobody else is supposed to know I told her in confidence
[44:23]she's your BFF all right she knows everything about you check and
[44:31]I can tell her anything yeah you can what you shouldn't Allah
[44:37]says Allah tell me so I'm from Walnut an average of a
[44:43]local and don't eat call each other names of losses don't bully
[44:48]each other notice this is a verse just about bullying 1400 years
[44:56]ago tom is telling you bullying bad don't do it and these
[45:00]are the forms of bullying the most common ones then he says
[45:05]why he says this and it's more for Superbad and Iman says
[45:07]you know what's gonna happen to you your name might be house
[45:13]but after you do this else your name will be fasiq you'll
[45:16]become corrupt why because we said it's corrosive it corrupts you these
[45:21]acts then what does he say after that Allah Almighty he says
[45:27]yeah you had love you know oh you who believe he says
[45:30]10 evoke a theorem in our one in the bhavani's avoid conjecture
[45:37]avoid thinking about things you shouldn't worry yourself about thinking about right
[45:40]avoid making up scenarios in your mind because if you do some
[45:49]of it would cause you to fall into sin because you see
[45:52]what ends up happening when you start thinking about stuff that is
[45:57]not your business he says you're gonna fall into spying I'm gonna
[46:01]check out people's profiles when you shouldn't and you know that you
[46:05]shouldn't because as soon as you hear the door creaking what do
[46:11]you do well I wasn't doing that yeah I was just checking
[46:16]saw that I'm right for the month today I was wondering one
[46:20]the next lecture is for deficit by safe hasanul kazooie right you
[46:25]know that what you're doing is wrong because you're trying to hide
[46:33]it all right so Allah subhana WA Ta'ala says here he says
[46:37]don't fall into to justice don't fall into spying spying is haram
[46:41]right and then he says and do not backbite each other because
[46:47]once you spy you know what you're gonna do you're gonna go
[46:49]and talk to other people and you're gonna tell them this is
[46:53]what your findings were right and you're gonna be backbiting them and
[46:58]you shouldn't backbite it's prohibited it's Haram do you know that when
[47:02]we backbite on the day of judgment the narrations say that on
[47:05]the day of judgment will be standing ok and an accounting we
[47:10]will be judged and what will happen we will see sins that
[47:14]aren't ours and we'll see all of our righteous deeds gone we'll
[47:17]ask what happened they'll say well you know when you were backbiting
[47:21]this person well here's how it works yeah you might not have
[47:25]heard I'm gonna have to tell you now well you see when
[47:29]you backbite all of your good deeds they go to the person
[47:30]you were backbiting right and then all of their bad deeds you
[47:36]get alright see ya take that door [Music] is it worth it
[47:48]is it worth it is it worth it well lucky it's almost
[47:55]it is not worth and then Allah he says something he says
[47:59]look just to kind of solidify how bad it is he says
[48:05]imagine this cannibalistic disgusting act that when you're backbiting metaphysically this is
[48:09]what you're doing you might not see it physically metaphysically the manifestation
[48:12]of what you're doing is you're eating the flesh of your brother
[48:15]or your sister in Islam with every word that you say you
[48:22]take a huge chunk out of their flesh imagine yourself oh bloody
[48:26]just because you're backbiting disgusting of course nobody does that here I'm
[48:34]just saying so then what do I need to do look right
[48:41]at the end of that verse says verily surely Allah is forgiving
[48:46]and he's merciful stop doing it repent look towards better things for
[48:54]yourself change your language change it change your thoughts change what you
[49:00]do with this tongue so the Imam continues he says after he
[49:02]says for a Cremora an Elfa now whatta we do I'll say
[49:08]it well Han Liu who ll Adam make sure that you hold
[49:10]it to high standards this tongue of yours and then he says
[49:15]why follow and follow - any al-khalil at infidelity laymen / are
[49:19]immaculate idea says set curiosity aside don't use it for bhakti-rasa t
[49:23]okay you want to improve science and get a Nobel Prize good
[49:28]for you but for other stuff like this uh-uh stay away that's
[49:31]a no-no abort if you see anybody do that tell them not
[49:35]to do it if they don't stop get up and go okay
[49:37]the next thing is that he says after he says that he
[49:47]says where you had to Shahid a knockin but the rear darling
[49:53]what says look this tongue of yours is considered evidence of how
[49:59]great an intellect you have you know how somebody looks like all
[50:04]great and small all looks very smart and then as soon as
[50:10]they opened up their mouth you're like what did you just say
[50:14]seriously say something else please your tongue is proof of what's up
[50:26]here imam ali says it beautifully he says any sign you want
[50:37]to know someone let them speak the person their true character is
[50:40]hidden behind their tongue what they say and he also says he
[50:49]says I am abou Lisa knew who a manaphy well aha hello
[50:59]listen who wore a pelvic he says an idiot his tongue is
[51:01]always in front of his mouth meaning that he's always talking right
[51:04]he's not thinking about what he's saying but a person who has
[51:09]happened who is a rational being his tongue is behind his heart
[51:15]right he thinks he rationalizes he decides before the words are blurted
[51:23]out in another narration Imam Ali says think of your neck like
[51:27]the neck of a camel before the words come out of your
[51:31]chest let them go up and down and up and down before
[51:32]they come out and then he says once they come out of
[51:37]these two lips they're no longer owned by you no time is
[51:42]this more true than in our day and age right because hellion
[51:47]as soon as you put that word out there on social media
[51:50]social media animal takes it over right then what does he say
[52:00]he says what does a you know la Harpe le broccoli he
[52:04]must know everything if you listen says look if you want to
[52:07]adorn yourself with this beautiful intellect of yours then know that your
[52:11]resume for your intellect is based on the actions of that tongue
[52:19]of yours what did your tongue do over the span of time
[52:22]if you want to be known to be someone who has a
[52:28]great intellect then you have to control that time although we asked
[52:31]you when you seat you sure help us control our tongues oh
[52:35]allah we know that the Prophet said and a little bit that
[52:42]every morning when we wake up all of our faculties talked to
[52:45]our tongue and say to it inertia which protect us from your
[52:52]evil we know that the Prophet says that there is one thing
[52:55]that prevents the son of man of Adam from going into heaven
[53:00]and the first and most dangerous of those things is what is
[53:04]the tongue it is the separator between heaven and hell you can
[53:08]do a thousand good things and you end your life by saying
[53:13]one bad thing like shape on huh bow down to him collectin
[53:16]even know well hell up - well hell of Telamon plane you
[53:22]created me from fire and him from clay I'm better next thing
[53:26]you know eternal damnation well although we ask you and beseech you
[53:31]let us not have satanic tongues you out long let us have
[53:36]high intellects and be able to control ourselves and practice seeing good
[53:40]and righteous things yeah oh my laughs I mean and help us
[53:45]practice with you first year law so that our conversation with you
[53:48]is fruitful and so that we always ask you Europe that when
