[0:00]James mill r-rahmanir-rahim I begin in the name of the Almighty God
[0:08]the compassionate the merciful the one who has created everything an utmost
[0:11]perfection and may be and may the peace and blessings of the
[0:18]Almighty God be upon his pure and beloved messenger the peak of
[0:23]his creation the symbol of humanity the holy prophet muhammad sallallahu alayhi
[0:30]wa ali and his immaculate progeny of the al-bait peace be upon
[0:38]them especially the leader of our time the awaited saviour and imam
[0:42]al-mahdi agile allahu ta'ala firaga allah subhanaw taala states in the holy
[0:47]quran smell r-rahmani r-rahim and now what abating water allen ancilla leve
[0:57]be bekata Mubarak and wahoo Daniel al-amin the first house of worship
[1:03]that was brought forth to humanity to all people is the house
[1:09]of worship is the blessed house and Bekah allah subhanaw taala blessed
[1:14]this place and it is a source of guidance for all of
[1:21]humanity sadaqa allahu allahu allah lien illuminates your hearts and minds with
[1:26]a very loud sala wat along us only I know how mad
[1:29]you are going from this blessed verse in the Holy Quran tells
[1:36]us that the first house of worship if you wonder what the
[1:39]first mosque that Allah designated for people where was it the first
[1:44]house of worship that Allah subhana allah gave to humanity where was
[1:48]it this verse sheds light on it it says the first house
[1:53]of worship that has been designated for people as the one in
[1:56]Becca Becca is one of the names of Mecca today where the
[2:02]Kaaba is situated that place is called Becca Allah subhana WA Ta'ala
[2:06]says this is the first house of worship we human beings we
[2:12]interact through that's how our mind and psychology works we connect with
[2:20]symbols whenever there is a symbol we can quickly connect with it
[2:24]in fact if you analyze what languages it's a collection of symbols
[2:29]right when you say the words water what does that mean the
[2:32]word water is a symbol that refers to this clear liquid outside
[2:39]that we call water the minute you go outside and you step
[2:42]into the street and you're driving you see all these signs right
[2:45]they symbolize something every religion has its own symbol every country has
[2:53]its own flag and symbol every team has its own symbol companies
[2:56]have their own logos because that's how we human beings interact allah
[3:00]subhana wa ta'ala knows that this is how the human being functions
[3:05]so the Almighty God decided on the first day to give us
[3:11]a house of worship that represents the house of God so we
[3:14]can connect to the Almighty God through his house of worship once
[3:19]you have a house of worship you can concentrate on your worship
[3:23]you feel better connected with allah subhana wa ta'ala because there is
[3:29]now a symbol that reminds you of the almighty god now who
[3:33]is the one who laid this first house of worship who constructed
[3:39]it our narrations say prophet adam alayhis-salam allah subhanaw taala instructed him
[3:45]to go to mecca and create the first mosque in history the
[3:51]first house of worship then after that a number of floods destroyed
[3:56]the kaaba including the flood of prophet - no Helios Allah so
[4:01]after prophet to know if prophet ibrahim came allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala commanded
[4:07]prophet ibrahim to reconstruct the kaaba but it is the oldest house
[4:12]of worship the second oldest house of worship is the temple in
[4:16]jerusalem which was constructed some narrations say adam alayhis-salam he himself constructed
[4:25]it after constructing the kaaba why other narration state prophet ibrahim was
[4:30]really the first one who constructed the temple in jerusalem and then
[4:36]later on we see profits like profit dawood aleihsalaam prophet Sulayman who
[4:41]constructed the temple in jerusalem and it became the temple for the
[4:46]jewish people now what's interesting about the religion of Islam in comparison
[4:52]to Christianity and Judaism and the religion of Islam we can perform
[4:56]our formal prayers anywhere whether in your house on the plane in
[5:03]a park anywhere you can do your Salah you don't necessarily have
[5:06]to go to the message' to do the salah yes you get
[5:09]greater reward when you perform the prayer in a mosque but you
[5:15]can pray anywhere however if you look at the history of the
[5:19]Jewish people they believe that you could only formally worship God and
[5:23]sacrifice for him in the temple that's why Jews from all around
[5:27]the world when the temple existed in Jerusalem they would go and
[5:33]visit the temple they would bring their sheep their camels their sacrifice
[5:38]in order to offer it to their Lord then when the temple
[5:42]was destroyed by the Romans they were lost and confused now what
[5:48]do we do we lost the temple so how do we worship
[5:49]God later on they started constructing their own temples in the Diaspora
[5:57]but before that their main temple was in Jerusalem and if you
[5:59]really wanted to worship God you had to go to the temple
[6:01]to worship God and offer your sacrifice Christian's today you find a
[6:08]similar trend over here if you want to formally worship God you
[6:11]have to go to Mass you have to go to church on
[6:15]a Sunday and a lot of Christians there only worship God once
[6:18]a week once they go to the church but Allah subhana wa
[6:24]ta'ala and the religion of islam has told us that the entire
[6:27]earth is a place of worship the prophets are Allahu Allahu Allah
[6:33]says in sahih hadith sure I let Lee and aroldo Masjid and
[6:36]wat ahora the earth has been made a place of sujood for
[6:42]me hence we see historically that houses of worship sweather they were
[6:47]synagogues temples churches mosques they played a significant role in the development
[6:55]of religions and in also keeping faithful people together let's take a
[6:59]brief look at the history of the prophet sallallahu alaihi wa when
[7:03]he migrated from Mecca to Medina the prophets in Mecca did not
[7:06]have the freedom to pray Jamaa I with his companions so when
[7:12]he migrated from Mecca to Medina in the month of Rabi al-awwal
[7:15]the 13 years the 13th year after the Berthe he arrived at
[7:24]a place called baba baba is a village three miles south of
[7:28]the city of Medina the Prophet entered baba and he refused to
[7:32]enter Medina they told him your destination is Medina yes rim why
[7:36]do you stay here in Baba he said I am waiting for
[7:41]Ali bin Abi Atlanta body Salam and the Farhat him to come
[7:43]the mother of Imam Ali his daughter lady fatima and his cousin
[7:49]I'm waiting for them to come I will not enter medina without
[7:51]ali but have you thought about his Silla so when the Prophet
[7:57]stayed for about two weeks in Kaaba some suggested what narration says
[8:01]I'm Arab in yasser he's the one who suggested let's build a
[8:04]mosque here let's worship Allah and the Prophet approved of it and
[8:09]the first mosque in Islam was established in poobah lemaise Judoon Oh
[8:15]Susanna taqwa the Quran considers this mosque even though it was a
[8:21]humble mosque nothing fancy the Quran considers this mosque as a mosque
[8:25]that was based on piety that neighborhood belong to the tribe of
[8:31]armed Benioff they hosted the prophet sallallaahu an invalid they donated that
[8:38]piece of land and they participated in the act of building this
[8:44]messages the Quran praises them that you had the right intentions those
[8:49]companions who participated in the construction of this messages they were pure
[8:54]they really did so out of piety even interestingly woman participated they
[9:00]would carry you know some rocks sometimes when men weren't around and
[9:04]they felt comfortable they would carry some rocks some pieces of stone
[9:10]in order to construct that meant that message didn't koba then the
[9:14]prophet sallallaahu anyway moved to the city of Medina and we saw
[9:17]that the first thing he did in Medina he established a message
[9:22]it what's interesting about the mosque in Medina is that it wasn't
[9:26]only a place of worship where you go and pray it was
[9:32]a full-fledged community center where people got together to pray yes to
[9:38]get educated the prophet sallallahu alehiwassallaam them with his sermons it was
[9:42]a place of socialization Muslims will get together get to know one
[9:46]another have a good social time with one another it was a
[9:52]place where people made important decisions the Prophet would consult his companions
[9:57]and matters of warfare in matters of national security it was a
[10:03]community center that gathered everyone from all tribes Arabs non Arabs the
[10:08]rich and the poor forming one solid community and we see that
[10:13]the mosque of the prophet sallallaahu anyone played an instrumental role in
[10:19]the development of the religion of Islam today if we look at
[10:23]the world especially the Western world we find that houses of worship
[10:28]have a very important place in Western society especially in the United
[10:36]States the greatest number of churches and houses of worship is found
[10:42]in the US and these houses of worship really contribute to American
[10:48]society do you know how many churches there are in the United
[10:51]States you know sometimes we Muslims if there are two mosques in
[10:57]a city we kind of feel bothered by that and we say
[10:59]how come we have too many mosques there's two mosques in this
[11:04]area there are three months four mosques in this region do you
[11:06]know how many churches there are the United States according to the
[11:10]latest statistics there are three hundred seventy four thousand churches three hundred
[11:18]seventy four thousand churches just imagine for every one thousand American there
[11:26]is a church that's the size of the houses of worship and
[11:31]specifically churches that there are here in the United States do you
[11:37]know how many synagogues there are the Jews are a minority here
[11:40]in the United States but they have more than three thousand seven
[11:43]hundred twenty seven synagogues they have close to a thousand synagogues just
[11:49]in the New York area close to 1,000 synagogues just imagine now
[11:54]if I have two mosque or three months in one region that
[11:56]should bother me how many mosques do you think there are in
[12:03]the United States in the last decade we have seen an influx
[12:05]of mosques being being established the most recent statistics show that there
[12:11]are about 2,100 mosques around the country that are serving the Muslim
[12:15]population and these houses of worship my dear brothers and sisters are
[12:20]serving very significant roles especially for those who do benefit and those
[12:27]who attend now according to Pew Research only 40 percent of Muslims
[12:34]regularly attend a mosque once a week let's say for the Friday
[12:40]prayer or some other function 60 percent of Muslims are not regularly
[12:45]attending mosques only 18 percent of them attend a mosque more than
[12:51]once a week and what's interesting about the Pew Research is that
[12:57]they also wanted to see the differences among the sect's between the
[13:01]Sunni and the Shia and they came to discover that the Shia
[13:05]participation in mosque is much much less than the Sunni participation now
[13:10]there are a number of factors that contribute to that one is
[13:15]that there are a lot of Shia who live in cities villages
[13:17]areas in which they probably don't are they shy amassed to go
[13:24]by the way when I say she I'm asked that's metaphorical because
[13:27]mas are not Sunni or Shia the MAS belong to allah subhanaw
[13:30]taala but what we mean by that is that the organizers come
[13:35]from a certain school of thought or certain sect so many of
[13:38]the Shia they felt they feel unwelcome when they go to a
[13:41]suddeniy Masjid they feel unwelcome and that is one reason why there
[13:48]is much less participation in the mosque and community centres in the
[13:53]Shia community there are also other reasons usually suddenly must have more
[13:59]resources they have more funding for their programs and that attracts others
[14:03]to their mosques and because of more resources and funding they have
[14:08]better organization whereas when you look at the shia mosques around the
[14:11]country they do struggle with this issue of being organized and hence
[14:16]this might be a factor that discourages a number of shia from
[14:19]going to the mosque but these are official official statistics by Pew
[14:23]Research now the question is my dear brothers and sisters and that's
[14:30]our discussion tonight what is the role of a mosque in our
[14:34]lives imagine our lives without community centers without mosques how important are
[14:42]these religious institutions and organizations in our lives our spiritual well-being our
[14:48]religious well-being even our social well-being let's examine that briefly and in
[14:56]doing so I would also like to explore with you the main
[15:02]reasons why today people are turning away from mosques and also from
[15:09]religious institutions before we look at mosques we find that this is
[15:14]a dilemma amongst Christians as well today most Christian churches are suffering
[15:19]from the lack of participation amongst the Millennials those youth who recently
[15:28]got married young families they're not going to church like they used
[15:32]to in the past and churches are struggling this idea now the
[15:39]primary reason why Christian youth are not going to the church is
[15:43]because they feel disconnected they go to the church those running the
[15:47]churches have a different mission have a different vision have a different
[15:53]style of running their programs and they feel they have no place
[15:56]they feel they have no say the type of programs that are
[15:59]being offered at those churches do not really meet their needs they're
[16:07]not run in a way that makes them feel too welcome or
[16:10]too comfortable hence we find that if you go today and on
[16:15]Sunday try it go to an average Church in America rarely will
[16:17]you find any youth so this is not something that we're we're
[16:23]only struggling with in our mosques because if you go around the
[16:27]country mosque organizers will tell you they're Netan their number-one concern the
[16:32]youth are basically not that interested in coming to the mosque and
[16:36]it's very difficult to get them to come and benefit from the
[16:39]programs this is not a challenge that's unique to us this is
[16:45]a global culture that we are witnessing today in which not many
[16:49]youth are interested in going to the mosque so what are the
[16:55]primary reasons why people have less participation in their mosques and community
[17:00]centers than we would expect them to have number one my dear
[17:06]brothers and sisters is also what the churches are going through most
[17:09]mosques around the country if you look at their programs we see
[17:13]that basically the programs are run by the older generation and they've
[17:18]the youth don't feel that welcome if you want a community center
[17:23]to be successful the youth have to have an active participation because
[17:30]this is what the youth say in most mosque they'll say we
[17:34]go to there and these elders dictate to us what to do
[17:39]do this execute this project make this event successful and they're just
[17:44]giving us orders youth are not interested in this style and method
[17:48]youth if you give them a project you give them guidelines of
[17:52]course has to be within Islamic guidelines let them have a sense
[17:55]of ownership that they own this program they have a stake in
[18:00]it that way they'll work hard for it they'll make it successful
[18:03]once they feel it's their project it's their idea and you give
[18:06]them roof room for creativity that's something that will attract them this
[18:13]is one concern and talking about this point another concern my dear
[18:17]brothers and sisters we find that in many mosques and Hum Dil
[18:20]are not this community center I'm just giving you an idea of
[18:24]mosques around the country in many mosques one problem is the older
[18:29]generation they hold on to the board to their positions they hold
[18:32]on to that chair until the grave that chair must go with
[18:38]them they don't make room for active members to come to participate
[18:42]to be members of that mosque to be members of that community
[18:45]center let fresh blood come in most mosques are undemocratic in the
[18:52]sense that sometimes you don't see the community being represented at the
[18:59]board level at the committee's level and that is one factor that
[19:03]keeps some people away from the messages this is something that many
[19:07]mosques around the u.s.
[19:10]are suffering from or are struggling with so these two are very
[19:14]significant factors a third factor my dear brothers and sisters is that
[19:19]sometimes certain mosques become politicized they form a group they attack other
[19:24]mosques other organizations and then you know you see this unhealthy environment
[19:30]of the followers of this person attacking the followers of that person
[19:36]and this creates a lot of division and that's problematic another challenge
[19:40]in some of these mosques is that they they they operate along
[19:45]ethnic lines if you're not part of that ethnicity you don't feel
[19:49]welcome this is a problem that we have around the country my
[19:54]dear brothers and sisters yes alhamdulillah there are some communities that have
[19:59]more diversity and anyone who walks into the center feels welcome but
[20:02]in a lot of mas that's not the case they don't feel
[20:06]welcome if you're not a Pakistani and going to this mosque you
[20:08]don't really feel welcome you don't feel like you fit in that
[20:14]environment if you're not a Hodja if you're not a Lebanese if
[20:16]you're not an Iraq if you're not a Yemeni a lot of
[20:21]our mosque especially the Shia mosques they are run along along ethnic
[20:24]lines and that in itself creates a hurdle this is the first
[20:28]point my dear brothers and sisters that's creating this challenge the second
[20:33]point the second reason why some people are not participating in mass
[20:37]activities is because if we see in the last few decades as
[20:42]many families became middle-class they started becoming affluent they found other alternatives
[20:48]they're busy doing other things now people have the finances to travel
[20:55]to go on vacation to sign up for activities and that is
[20:59]taking them away from a lot of these mosque programs in fact
[21:05]the single most activity that is keeping families away from the mosque
[21:10]sports events especially with more affluent families on the weekends any time
[21:15]they have an opening you see they're so committed to the sports
[21:18]of their children that they simply don't have time to come to
[21:22]the mosque every Saturday from morning till night I know some families
[21:25]they're running from one game to another game they spent 15 years
[21:27]of their lives running from one game to the other game Saturday
[21:33]Sunday Friday night you name it of course they don't have the
[21:36]time to come and participate now this is not to say that
[21:40]this is negative our kids need sports it's healthy for them but
[21:44]once it becomes extreme and every weekend I'm drowned in these sports
[21:51]activities I don't have time for my religion that has negative consequences
[21:54]and usually when it's too late these parents realize 10-15 years they
[21:59]never showed up they're not active in their community centers and now
[22:03]suddenly there's a problem with their children they're struggling to maintain their
[22:09]identity they don't understand their religion they've assimilated too much they've gone
[22:15]into drug addiction other problems now they come until you come and
[22:18]save our kids where were you the last ten years spending every
[22:21]weekend on sports you could not dedicate a weekend to come to
[22:26]the house of allah subhanho wa taala to listen to something that's
[22:28]beneficial to get to know other believing and faithful brothers and sisters
[22:33]that in itself is a challenge this is the second point the
[22:37]third point my dear brothers and sisters that's keeping away especially the
[22:41]youth from the mosques is that they'll tell you I can go
[22:44]online and simply watch the lectures why do I have to come
[22:48]to the mosque if there is a topic I'm interested in I
[22:52]just opened my smartphone I log on to YouTube just put the
[22:56]name of the topic that I want or the name of the
[23:00]speaker and I can see their lectures why is it that I
[23:01]need to go to the mosque this is one reason why we
[23:06]see less youth participation in this era number four a lot of
[23:10]people today are saying I don't need spirituality to go to the
[23:15]mosque I can be spiritual I can be a religious person spiritual
[23:17]person why is it that I need to go to a mosque
[23:22]in order to feel spiritual this is another challenge the fifth one
[23:25]my dear brothers and sisters some people don't come to the mosque
[23:28]because they feel judged in a mosque environment I've heard this from
[23:34]many people they say whenever we go to a community center we
[23:37]feel as if the religious people judge us if they don't like
[23:41]the way they were dressed something about us they usually are pretty
[23:48]rough in dealing with us and yes my dear brothers and sisters
[23:51]we do have this problem sometimes some people who might appear religious
[23:55]and they act holier than thou they will go and lecture other
[23:58]people and judge them and this will actually alienate some people we
[24:05]have to be very gentle gentle in our approach sometimes if there's
[24:10]one trace of roughness in our speech and our method in our
[24:15]style and our approach it can a lien it's many people from
[24:19]the mosque so this is another challenge and the sixth one amongst
[24:22]many other challenges is that a lot of the youth are just
[24:26]not interested in the programs they're saying you know that the programs
[24:29]are not something captivate us we need something dynamic something that draws
[24:35]our attention we find some of the lectures boring you know like
[24:39]my lectures tonight just before I came a young girl she came
[24:45]to me and she told me say it you know every night
[24:46]the minute you start your greeting I start falling asleep I've known
[24:52]some people by the way who've had the best sleep of their
[24:54]day during lectures and that is a concern sometimes the lecturers need
[24:59]to be more engaging topics that engage the people especially the youth
[25:03]by the way she did say that I did find other interesting
[25:06]parts of the lecture it's just in the beginning that she sleeps
[25:11]maybe because she was tired but that's ok I don't blame her
[25:13]if she's sleeping in my lectures I would probably fall asleep too
[25:16]if I was listening to myself but that is really a challenge
[25:21]my dear brothers and sisters I've sat with many youth and one
[25:27]time you know I would ask them why don't you go to
[25:29]the you know institutions and listen to some of the programs a
[25:33]lot of them are very honest they're like we find in not
[25:35]in all mosques by the way I'm not generalizing here I'm just
[25:38]saying in a number of mosques around the country that is the
[25:42]case we find that for example that the speaker could be coming
[25:45]from a different cultural background they don't even have programs in English
[25:50]and other languages sometimes you know the what's being discussed is boring
[25:54]for us and that does not attract us these are some serious
[26:01]challenges that were experiencing having said that my dear brothers and sisters
[26:06]to know what the challenges are I want to share with you
[26:09]two or three quick points on why it's necessary for our well-being
[26:14]to stay connected to our mosques and community centres a few nights
[26:18]ago we talked about happiness and contentment right some youth will tell
[26:23]me I can sit at home and just watch a lecture my
[26:27]dear brothers and sisters it's not enough to watch a lecture online
[26:32]the environment the atmosphere that you get in a mosque is healthy
[26:36]for your mental health one of the greatest ways to battle depression
[26:41]loneliness to find happiness is to be active in your mosque and
[26:49]local center to actually go and volunteer many of us we walk
[26:54]in and out do you really want to be happier in your
[26:56]life do something approach the organizers and ask them what can I
[27:02]do I have ideas you give me ideas I would like to
[27:05]serve at this community center what is it that I can do
[27:09]try it see how fulfilled you will feel and if you don't
[27:12]believe me go and ask the volunteers here at this place or
[27:17]any other place they will tell you our best time our highlights
[27:19]of the days when we come here and we actually work for
[27:24]the house of Allah subhana wa ta'ala and we volunteer for the
[27:27]feasable allah azzawajal this is the highlight of our day by volunteering
[27:33]so many psychological studies by scientists have been done on people who
[27:39]volunteer Americans who volunteer through the act of volunteering you will guarantee
[27:44]your mental health your spiritual health my dear brothers and sisters this
[27:50]is really important today we are finding that the issue of mental
[27:54]health is becoming our number one challenge in our communities one way
[27:58]to address that get involved get to know other people the Prophet
[28:02]sallallahu alayhi wa din' would use the mosque as a place of
[28:07]proper socialization in fact if some of the Companions would not show
[28:10]up for a day or two the Prophet would ask about them
[28:12]where are they are they sick why aren't they coming if they're
[28:17]sick let's go visit them if they have a problem let's go
[28:20]and help them and many times by the way some of your
[28:25]needs can be fulfilled at a mosque hamdulillah there are successful brothers
[28:29]and sisters they have experience if you're struggling in your business and
[28:33]your school in your life ask for advice there are wise people
[28:36]in every community center who can share their experiences with them and
[28:41]they can even hook you up just a few nights ago one
[28:45]of the brothers asked one of the doctors on the table whether
[28:49]he could get a letter of recommendation for you know some school
[28:53]activity that he had yes that's a wonderful blessing from Allah no
[28:56]Tana why not you know someone successful in the community at the
[28:59]center go to them and tell them how did you become successful
[29:04]show me can you help me out with this this is a
[29:06]great opportunity that we have my dear brothers and sisters that Allah
[29:13]subhana WA Ta'ala has given us so that's the first point the
[29:17]second point many studies have been done on the correlation between attending
[29:25]mosques and the identity of our children and our family today our
[29:30]identity is being threatened Islamophobia is on the rise many of our
[29:36]children are concerned about being known to be Muslims some of them
[29:40]even have doubts if we regularly bring them to religious institutions and
[29:49]do our best to make the program's interesting for them make them
[29:54]feel connected sometimes we can gather the youth and ask them what
[29:57]is it that you want even kids what kind of programs do
[29:58]you want let's have this program okay you were on it give
[30:02]them a sense of ownership that will go a long way my
[30:04]dear brothers and sisters and strengthening their Islamic identity today our Islamic
[30:10]identity is being challenged and most families who don't regularly go to
[30:15]a mosque they end up losing the identity of that of their
[30:18]children they assimilate so much where they're just called Muslim by name
[30:25]they have no clue what Islam is and that in itself my
[30:28]dear brothers and sisters is a challenge is very problematic and the
[30:32]third point is the issue of doubts once I read a paper
[30:38]a study about Muslims who struggle with doubts and religion starting with
[30:43]the existence of God or the Quran or anything else and how
[30:50]they overcame those doubts one way that enabled them to overcome their
[30:54]doubts 30 percent of Muslims in the u.s.
[30:57]who experience doubts in religion but they were able to overcome those
[31:01]doubts as by going to a mosque and speaking to a scholar
[31:03]sometimes if you just talk to others who are educated about your
[31:09]doubts and you hear another perspective that in itself can save your
[31:13]faith in religion my dear brothers and sisters 30% said just by
[31:18]going to a mosque by seeking a scholar or someone who's educated
[31:22]in the community that in itself helped us address these doubts and
[31:26]hence my dear brothers and sisters we find that the Imams of
[31:32]and in beit peace be upon them historically plays such a great
[31:38]emphasis on their followers gathering together discussing their religion and remembering allah
[31:46]subhanahu wa'ta'ala once al imam as-sadiq re salaam saw one of his
[31:53]companions alpha lain ibanez are the imam ali salam told him do
[31:56]you gather in your village in your town in your city do
[32:02]you gather together and discuss our teachings the a debate he said
[32:06]yes we do that o imam the imam ali salam says allah
[32:12]knows how much I love those modulus these are the words of
[32:15]an imam Asad asana in another hadith the Imam Ali said amtel's
[32:21]macer the imam tells him do you gather and you discuss our
[32:26]affairs I am Rana do you talk about the teachings of anybody
[32:29]said yes we do the Imam and in salam says i'm our
[32:34]la loi dead to an american feet LLL kill modulus the Imam
[32:37]says I swear by God I wish I was with you in
[32:41]those modulus and him a Masada Callister I'm wishes you would participate
[32:44]in those modulus can you imagine the blessings and the butter can
[32:47]those modulus when the Imam himself says I wish I could be
[32:53]with you I'm a La Nina or Hemery hakama are Oaxaca the
[32:57]Imam says I swear by Allah I love it when you my
[33:01]followers gather I love your souls I love your aroma when you
[33:07]gather in those majorities but then the Imam Mahdi's said I'm says
[33:11]Ferrari who will be what are in which to heart but be
[33:14]pious be mindful of allah subhanaw taala because the test is great
[33:20]my dear brothers and sisters especially in a mosque i remember once
[33:23]a brother told me is like say it why is it that
[33:27]sometimes when we go to a mosque we see that some people
[33:31]are violating some rights sometimes there's backbiting there are issues isn't this
[33:36]the house of allah subhanho to honor I expect the mosque to
[33:39]be a place where there's absolutely no distraction absolutely no room for
[33:44]Shaitaan I told him the mosque is the house of Allah but
[33:50]Habibi you think the Shaitaan he's going to go to the bar
[33:54]and the disco in order to misguide the people the Shaitaan has
[33:58]no business there the people there are worshipping Shaitaan he doesn't need
[34:02]to invite them yes that sometimes the test is great in mosques
[34:04]because when the Shaitaan sees that believers have gathered United worshipping allah
[34:09]subhana wa ta'ala of course the Shaitaan is going to whisper and
[34:12]that's why our test is greater and Subhan Allah and Imam Assad
[34:17]the re salam says after mentioning the value of these modulus he
[34:20]says but be pious remember the test sometimes it's very difficult you
[34:24]have to be pious your eyes your ears your tongue what do
[34:29]you do how you behave how you interact with others the test
[34:33]sometimes it's greater when you gather in these modulus because a beliefs
[34:36]knows the value of these modulus and he wants to do everything
[34:41]to destroy them but allah subhana wa ta'ala gives us that light
[34:44]my dear brothers and sisters and we shall carry that light despite
[34:47]the challenges we ask Allah subhana WA Ta'ala to give us the
[34:55]success in order to serve his religion serve his path and especially
[34:58]his mosque and always remember my dear brothers and sisters that the
[35:02]message it belongs only to allah subhanaw taala everyone is welcome to
[35:07]every Masjid that belongs to Allah and everyone has a place and
[35:10]position in the eyes of allah subhana wa ta'ala allahu allah sayidina
[35:14]muhammadin wa ala nabina by hearing Allah
