[0:09][Music] I begin in the name of the almighty God the compassionate

[0:26]the merciful the one who has created everything in most Perfection and

[0:33]May the peace and blessings of the almighty God be upon his

[0:37]pure and beloved messenger the peak of his creation the symbol of

[0:43]humanity the holy prophet Muhammad Sall and his Immaculate progeny of the

[0:55]peace be upon them especially the leader of our time the awaited

[1:01]savior may Allah hasten his reappearance and make us all amongst his

[1:10]sincere and dedicated servants respected brothers and sisters I sincerely congratulate you

[1:24]all on the arrival of the month of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala

[1:28]the holy month of Ramadan this month which is filled with spirituality

[1:34]with the blessings of Allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala according to a Hadith attributed

[1:45]to he coded his grandfather through IMI greeting and welcoming the month

[1:59]of Ramadan let's see how we can benefit from this short sermon

[2:04]of the Prophet sallallah alai in embracing the month of Allah according

[2:10]to this Hadith the prophet sallallahu alaihi Al said to his community

[2:17]to the people and he's addressing us as well the prophet beautifully

[2:28]stated look at the words of the Prophet sallallah alai oh people

[2:38]realize that the month of Allah subhah wa ta'ala has arrived this

[2:44]month belongs to your lord it's his special [Music] month and the

[3:20]prophet sallallahu alaihi stated this month with Allah in the eyes of

[3:28]God in the system of God is the best month it's days

[3:31]are the best days its nights are the best nights its hours

[3:39]are the best of hours then the prophet continues [Music] s this

[3:57]is the special part of the sermon you have been invited in

[4:03]this month of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala there is an invitation that

[4:08]is extended to all of us you are invited to be the

[4:15]guests of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala and you have been made amongst

[4:23]those who will receive the special blessings from Allah you're breathing is

[4:30]an act of it's like you glorifying Allah your sleep is worship

[4:38]in the month of Ramadan your Deeds even if they're not the

[4:46]best maybe in other months they don't make it in the month

[4:52]of Ramadan Allah subhana tala lowers the bar and he accepts your

[4:57]deeds and your supplication your Dua is answered in the month of

[5:04]Ramadan more than any other month we are indeed the guests of

[5:09]Allah subhah wa ta'ala but how do we understand what it means

[5:13]to be the guest in our discussion this evening let us examine

[5:17]what does it mean for you to be the guests of Allah

[5:23]subhanahu wa ta'ala what do I have to observe as the guest

[5:25]of God and what am I getting from Allah subhana wa tala

[5:30]because when you are invited somewhere and it's a special VIP invitation

[5:38]you know that you're benefiting there is something in it for you

[5:43]so what are we gaining through this invitation that Allah subhana wa

[5:49]ta'ala has extended to us let's examine what it means to be

[5:54]the guests of Allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala now before we examine that the

[6:00]prophet sallallahu alaih reminds us that the month of Ramadan is the

[6:04]best month the holiest month one reason why the month of Ramadan

[6:07]is so special is because the scriptures of Allah according to our

[6:12]hadiths all the main scriptures of Allah subhana were revealed in the

[6:19]month of Ramadan according to a Hadith attributed to IM one man

[6:24]asked him doesn't the Quran state that Allah revealed the Quran in

[6:30]in the month of Ramadan the IM said yes he told him

[6:36]then how was the Quran revealed throughout a period of 20 years

[6:40]20 years spanned through many months and years so how is it

[6:46]that it was revealed in one night in the month of Ramadan

[6:49]the Imam explained to him that we have two types of Revelation

[6:54]you have the instant Revelation and you have the gradual Revelation the

[7:00]instant Revelation occurred in the month of Ramadan how did that happen

[7:05]Allah subhana wa tala revealed the Holy Quran to have you heard

[7:14]of Al according to our hadiths is in the fourth Heaven it's

[7:19]a very holy location in the universe and it is opposite to

[7:25]the Kaa somehow it's spiritually connected to the Kaa Allah subh waala

[7:31]in he revealed the Quran to and then to the heart of

[7:39]the Prophet sallallahu alaihi that's the instant Revelation and then you have

[7:44]the gradual Revelation it took about 20 23 years for the Holy

[7:47]Quran to be revealed on different occasions but the Quran was revealed

[7:52]in the month of Ramadan what other scriptures were revealed in the

[7:55]month of Ramadan according to this Hadith the Imam on the first

[8:02]night of the month of Ramadan ibim the scriptures of prophet ibim

[8:08]were revealed in the month of Ramadan on the first night on

[8:13]the sixth night the tah was revealed on the 13th night of

[8:20]the month of Ramadan the inil the Bible was revealed to Prophet

[8:24]is now today if you ask Christians about the Bible they'll tell

[8:30]you that the Gospels were written after jesus.

[8:33]by John Mark Matthew Luke by the writers of the Bible but

[8:40]according to our scriptures Allah subhana wa tala revealed the actual original

[8:45]Bible to prophet isaam and that happened on the 13th day of

[8:49]the month of Ramadan then come to the 18th of the month

[8:53]of Ramadan the Zab of Da the Psalms of David was revealed

[9:00]and then you come to in the month of Ramadan Allah revealed

[9:05]the Quran so when alai tells you this is the best month

[9:12]literally this is the best month Allah chose this month to be

[9:20]the time for his communication with us that's very special if your

[9:26]president your king chooses a specific time to communicate with you realize

[9:30]how important this time is so now we know the month of

[9:37]Ramadan is very special it comes with a lot of privileges but

[9:39]how can I be the guest of Allah subhana wa ta'ala if

[9:44]there is a king or president that you respect or a figure

[9:50]that you follow now we're not talking about a president a king

[9:53]who's unjust and oppressive no we're talking about a king who's R

[9:59]who's truly just and truly a good ruler if that King extends

[10:06]to you an invitation come there's a royal invitation that I want

[10:11]you to attend how do you react to this invitation true you'll

[10:18]feel honored in fact you'll be very excited some people they kill

[10:23]themselves to attend some of these Royal invitations by some royal families

[10:28]you're very excited to go to that invitation however this invitation comes

[10:33]with rules policies with manners and etiquette you can't just show up

[10:38]to any invitation wearing whatever you want you have to respect the

[10:41]invitation there are certain policies and if you read about some of

[10:48]these Royal Gatherings and invitations before you even go and see the

[10:51]king or the queen there's a long list of how you need

[10:56]to behave at this invitation because you have to show respect to

[11:01]this invitation now imagine going to that King's house and then you

[11:07]feel like you're inside your own house you wear your shorts for

[11:11]the brothers of course and then you open the fridge you take

[11:13]out something to eat then you go sleep on the couch and

[11:18]turn on to see your favorite Netflix series is that respectful to

[11:23]your host you have to show respect to your host it's not

[11:28]just any invitation now this invitation is from Allah the King of

[11:34]Kings the royal king of the universe is extending to you this

[11:38]invitation feel honored feel privileged be excited but realize that in the

[11:46]month of Ramadan there are certain etiquette that we have to observe

[11:49]that's how I do justice to the invitation of Allah subhana wa

[11:53]tala otherwise I'll end up disrespecting this invitation and if I disrespect

[11:58]that invitation in the month of of Ramadan I will be at

[12:03]loss there are consequences for me so how do we observe the

[12:06]proper etiquette in the month of Ramadan what do we do how

[12:10]do we behave in the month of Ramadan a beautiful Hadith a

[12:16]tribute opens a window for us he teaches us how to behave

[12:22]in the month of Ramadan the Imam explains in the beginning of

[12:25]the Hadith don't think that fasting is simply not eating and drinking

[12:32]that's not what fasting is all about there is more to it

[12:38]than that then the IM refers to lady she made that vow

[12:44]to fast I have vowed to fast the Imam said her fasting

[12:52]was what not avoiding eating and drinking but not to speak she

[13:00]made a vow to fast from speaking then the Imam teaches us

[13:06]the manners of the month of Ramadan the first recommendation from the

[13:12]Imam if I want to do justice to this invitation of Allah

[13:19]subhana wa tala guard your tongues mind what you say if you're

[13:27]at an invitation and the royalties are sitting around you the king

[13:32]is across the table on the other side will you say anything

[13:35]that comes to your mind or you'll be very mindful of what

[13:39]you say now my dear brothers and sisters you are literally in

[13:45]the invitation of Allah subhana wa taala IM says be careful what

[13:50]you say be mindful of every word that you're utter you're in

[13:53]that invitation you're in the presence of Allah subhah wa ta'ala you're

[13:57]his guest right now lower your gaze not just from from this

[14:07]D from materialism just be polite have you seen people who are

[14:13]polite you're sitting in their presence they don't look at you directly

[14:17]in the eye for a long time to show you respect sometimes

[14:20]they lower their gaze show politeness this is the invitation of Allah

[14:26]subhana wa ta'ala then the IM States do not fight do not

[14:36]quarrel with one another do not dispute and do not envy one

[14:39]another do not make each other the object of your Envy this

[14:45]is one of the most beautiful ways we can respect the month

[14:51]of Ramadan my dear brothers and sisters have you ever seen the

[14:55]scene at an invitation you go to an invitation and then you

[14:58]find two people who have been invited suddenly they start fighting over

[15:03]something Petty I want to sit here this is the better location

[15:08]I want to get up and start the buffet dinner before you

[15:11]I myself I've seen fights in a lot of gatherings and in

[15:17]a lot of invitations there is nothing more Despicable disgraceful than fighting

[15:24]at an invitation because you're supposed to at least show respect to

[15:31]that invitation well in the month of Ramadan we are on this

[15:34]invitation by Allah the IM says don't envy one another hassad jealousy

[15:41]destroy each other fight with each other because you are at this

[15:50]invitation imagine how bad it looks if I fight while I'm at

[15:54]that invitation and realize that everyone there at the invitation they are

[16:02]invited by Allah as well what's bothering you one reason why we

[16:08]Envy one another is because the success of others bothers me some

[16:15]people are like that if I see my cousin my friend a

[16:18]Community member is successful that bothers me I'm bothered by your success

[16:22]why are you successful why why do you make more money than

[16:27]I do why is your house bigger than mine why is your

[16:29]family bigger than my family and that bothers me why did you

[16:33]get better grades why did you graduate before me realize your fellow

[16:38]brother or sister is also an invitee Allah subhana T has invited

[16:43]them are you bothered by those people whom Allah has invited is

[16:48]that how I show my submission and love and appreciation to Allah

[16:52]subhana wa ta'ala don't be bothered if that person has success Allah

[16:55]gave him gave them that success why are you bothered by something

[16:59]that Allah gave others if you say that you're a true Muslim

[17:05]and you truly love Allah subhah wa tala is that befitting of

[17:08]my character if I hate what Allah gave to others they're all

[17:15]invited they're part of this invitation be happy be happy for everyone

[17:19]and never think you know what the Shan does with our minds

[17:23]that's how he arouses jealousy in US Shan makes you think that

[17:31]the success of other people means your failure think about that we

[17:38]think that if that person becomes successful then I will fail if

[17:42]that businessman makes more money than I do is more successful that

[17:46]means I will fail and there's no sustenance for me that's the

[17:51]tactic of shaan that's how he arouses jealousy my dear brothers and

[17:59]sisters this universe is much bigger than that believe me your failure

[18:04]is not the result of the success of other people it's never

[18:10]the case Allah has given every single human being the opportunity to

[18:16]achieve success don't think if that competitor is making more money than

[18:21]me that means I'm going to be driven out of business that

[18:23]means I will die on the street that's not going to happen

[18:30]Allah is your he's your sustainer and he'll give you he'll find

[18:32]a path for you don't be bothered everyone has been invited by

[18:37]Allah subhana tala at this invitation respect the sanctity of this invitation

[18:43]so this is a beautiful word of advice from the sixth Imam

[18:51]about respecting the month of Ramadan because this is a royal Divine

[18:55]invitation from your creator from Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala and another beautiful

[18:59]attributed to the IM says every body part should fast your eyes

[19:06]should fast your ears should fast your hair should fast that's what

[19:11]the Imam says in this Hadith even your hair should fast then

[19:15]the Imam States at the end of this Hadith and make sure

[19:28]that the day of your fasting is not the same as the

[19:33]day of you breaking your fast when you go to this invitation

[19:39]be different behave differently if the month of Ramadan is the status

[19:43]quo for me I've not achieved much I'm not respecting this invitation

[19:46]even if you're an angel throughout the year in the month of

[19:51]Ramadan be more Angelic because you are the guest of Allah subhanahu

[19:55]wa ta'ala the IM says make sure that the days of your

[20:00]fasting are not like other days make them special make them unique

[20:05]make them different better quality better better Faith that's how you make

[20:11]the month of Ramadan distinguished now I know what some of you

[20:15]are thinking okay an invitation I might go there for a few

[20:21]hours I can behave but for me to behave for an entire

[20:23]month come on that's hard how do I do that maybe for

[20:28]a few hours I can bring myself to behave properly and I

[20:31]can respect the invitation of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala and I can

[20:37]truly feel like the guest of Allah what 24 hours for 30

[20:42]days that's tough if we change our mindset it will not be

[20:46]tough It's All About the mindset my dear brothers and sisters I'll

[20:52]give you an example of why it's not tough if you simply

[20:55]change your mindset let's take the example of an employee an employee

[21:00]who works full-time what's full-time here 8 hours 8 hours full-time some

[21:04]people work less some people work more I know some people who

[21:07]work 12 hours but let's take the average employee who works full-time

[21:15]for 8 hours what does an employee do for8 hours or what

[21:18]what is the employee supposed to do what do you do as

[21:25]an employee for eight hours what do you do you work for

[21:27]who yeah for the employer for the company for your boss for

[21:33]your manager you're working for the company now think about this 8

[21:37]hours of your day which is half of your day because take

[21:42]out 6 to eight hours of sleep you're left with what 18

[21:46]17 19 hours half of that is eight hours at your work

[21:53]you're actually spending half of your wakeful time at work 18 hours

[21:58]as an employee during this time these eight hours you are actually

[22:05]a slave to your employer to your company now I know the

[22:09]word slave is a bit harsh but that's the reality of it

[22:13]because you're there for8 hours you do as your company dictates to

[22:20]you sit here for eight hours get this work done and you

[22:23]will observe the policies of your company if your company has certain

[22:26]policies you have to observe them you have to respect the rules

[22:30]have you seen certain employers they give you rules don't do this

[22:36]do that if you're sitting behind your desk and you have the

[22:39]computer laptop screen in front of you don't spend your time on

[22:41]Facebook we'll be monitoring you literally you're a slave for eight hours

[22:47]you're doing what your employer has asked you to do but does

[22:53]that bother you most people are they bothered by that I know

[23:00]maybe some company policy is are annoying sure but are you bothered

[23:03]by that do you have this crisis every single day I have

[23:08]to go to work eight hours and do work for this company

[23:11]and go by their policies you don't have that crisis every day

[23:15]why because you're getting your paycheck see the money that the company

[23:21]gives you eliminates your annoyance your pain your suffering it eliminates it

[23:29]Subhan Allah you see the power of money look at what money

[23:34]can do it can make you a slave here in 2024 I'm

[23:37]not talking about the era of slavery brothers and sisters we're talking

[23:41]about modern-day Canada here you willingly go and become a slave for

[23:45]a company for eight hours of your precious day why what allows

[23:51]you to accept that money I want that salary and you'll behave

[23:56]there are some people who work at companies they will truly behave

[24:00]properly especially those people who are employed in customer service you have

[24:05]to treat your customers as well your company tells you even if

[24:13]a customer comes they yell at you they're rude they humiliate you

[24:18]you have to smile back at them and a lot of them

[24:23]do believe me I've seen that sometimes you see certain employees working

[24:27]at these comp companies and customer service if you yell at them

[24:31]you curse them you say whatever your mouth can say they will

[24:35]not react why do you think they have special try saying those

[24:43]same words outside of work you'll see how that same person will

[24:47]knock you down but when they're doing their job they will tolerate

[24:53]you why do they tolerate you because they're working for the company

[24:56]and they want that raise they want that promotion they want to

[25:00]have a good reputation in that company my dear brothers and sisters

[25:06]for simple work we're willing to show the best of now listen

[25:11]to this Hadith from the IM in a very striking beautiful Hadith

[25:17]the Imam States when two people fight with each other two fellow

[25:23]Believers and they cut off one another one of them cuts off

[25:25]the other one the Imam says one of them is definitely cursed

[25:31]one of them guaranteed he's cursed the other one maybe he's also

[25:38]cursed the narrator was shocked the companion of the Imam was shocked

[25:45]he told him oh Imam okay I understand the oppressor is cursed

[25:48]the one who started the fight what about the other side if

[25:51]he's he's he's the one who's oppressed at the end of the

[25:55]day there are some people who oppress you and you get into

[25:57]a fight why is that person possibly a cursed as well the

[26:04]IM beautifully responded by basically saying because even the one who's oppressed

[26:09]he can stop the dispute you have the power to stop the

[26:14]dispute even if you've been violated even if you've been wronged then

[26:19]the Imam gives the example he says he can go to him

[26:23]and he'll tell him look I'm the one who wronged you okay

[26:26]let's make peace right now that person is the oppressor the Imam

[26:31]is acknowledging that that person is the one who oppressed you that

[26:34]person is the one who violated you but you the oppressed go

[26:37]and say to that person it's okay you're I'm the one who

[26:42]violated you forgive me can we make peace now are you willing

[26:45]to do that no we're not willing to do that Subhan Allah

[26:49]in the company I'm willing to do that in the customer service

[26:52]department if anyone comes wrongs me yells at me does anything I

[26:57]have the best of I'm doing it for that paycheck but when

[26:59]it comes to working for Allah I'm not willing to do that

[27:02]see it's all about the mindset just like an employee has the

[27:09]power to stay focused for eight hours and obey the company policy

[27:14]in the month of Ramadan realize you are the employees of Allah

[27:21]subhana wa ta'ala he's your employer and what is Allah going to

[27:25]give you is it compared to anything that a company can give

[27:29]you you're showing your best AK in that customer service department for

[27:34]$100,000 a year maybe less maybe more for that amount of money

[27:42]I'm willing to be a slave I'm willing to do anything for

[27:44]the company but for Allah subhana wa ta'ala am I willing to

[27:49]show that submission throughout the month of Ramadan it's all the mindset

[27:53]tonight tell yourself I am not the employee of Allah even though

[27:57]I'd be honored to be working for Allah but I am the

[28:01]guest of Allah see how Allah honors you Allah is not calling

[28:12]us my employees come work for me even though who are we

[28:14]to even be the employees of Allah subhah wa ta'ala Allah says

[28:20]you're my guests just put yourself in that guest mode employee mode

[28:24]I'm working for Allah subhana wa ta'ala why is it that when

[28:29]a company gives me $100,000 I'm willing to do whatever they want

[28:32]during those eight hours but not for Allah what Allah is giving

[28:37]me is far more better than what these companies can ever give

[28:47]you the Holy Quran says race to the to the Forgiveness of

[28:54]Allah and a heaven that's as vast as wide as this universe

[28:58]that's what Allah is giving you your miserable company is giving you

[29:03]some small office space with some cash that's what they're giving you

[29:07]Allah is giving you the universe be honored to be the guest

[29:13]of Allah subhana tala if we simply change that mindset it becomes

[29:17]much more practical for us to behave throughout the month of Ramadan

[29:21]that's how I can behave in the month of Ramadan tell yourself

[29:24]I'm an employee I'm working for Allah subhana wa ta'ala throughout the

[29:27]year but especially during these 30 days I'm his guest so I

[29:33]will show the Best Manners that any guest will show in the

[29:37]month of Ramadan that's how we become the guests of Allah subhana

[29:42]wa ta'ala now what is Allah giving you my dear brothers and

[29:45]sisters this is a royal invitation now when you go to a

[29:52]special VIP invitation you go there either for the food either for

[29:56]the connections right at these VIP events you develop a lot of

[30:02]connections they'll help you you're getting something in return it's something social

[30:07]maybe I went to the Kings VIP Royal event you can put

[30:10]a picture then on Facebook and tell your friends on Instagram you

[30:15]can show off there are a lot of benefits by going to

[30:19]a special invitation so what are you getting from this invitation by

[30:23]Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala number one my dear brothers and sisters you

[30:29]are earning the Forgiveness of Allah Allah is forgiving you that's something

[30:35]no one but Allah can do no King can release you from

[30:41]your sins but Allah can no King can release you from the

[30:44]fire of hell but Allah can you know how much Allah forgives

[30:50]in the month of Ramadan every breath that you take Allah subhana

[30:54]T is forgiving your sins and he's writing Good Deeds for you

[30:58]which king can give you that my dear brothers and sisters in

[31:00]the month of Ramadan do you know how many people Allah frees

[31:03]from the fire of hell this is the invitation of Allah people

[31:08]always are doing evil things that bring them to hell that take

[31:13]them to Hell Allah subhana T in the month of Ramadan releases

[31:19]about according to one Hadith I'm just sharing one Hadith about 250

[31:23]million people in the month of Ramadan the Hadith States every single

[31:29]day in the month of Ramadan Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala frees 1

[31:37]million people from the fire of hell every day 1 million so

[31:42]how many for the month 30 on Fridays which starts at Thursday

[31:48]night till Friday evening for every hour Allah subhana wa ta'ala frees

[31:56]1 million people from the fire of hell so in these 24

[32:02]hours how many do you have 24 million and let's say we

[32:05]have four Fridays in the month of Ramadan that's how much 24

[32:12]* 2 48 double that 96 million that's almost 100 million just

[32:21]on Fridays so now we're at 130 million almost right now on

[32:26]the night of theid the last last day of the month of

[32:32]Ramadan Allah will free people from hell as much as he did

[32:34]during the entire month of Ramadan so double that that's about 250

[32:40]million people this is the invitation of Allah you get the Forgiveness

[32:45]of Allah appreciate that feel honored that Allah is giving you this

[32:49]opportunity and that's why my dear brothers and sisters if I disrespect

[32:55]the invitation of Allah in the month of Ramadan and I don't

[32:59]take advantage of this opportunity to be forgiven with sincere intentions with

[33:04]some good I will not be forgiven ever until the next Ramadan

[33:09]or you go to for the this is the Hadith of the

[33:14]Imam attributed to him if you're not forgiven in the month of

[33:20]Ramadan I was careless I was heedless I caused problems left and

[33:26]right with my brothers and sisters in the community and I did

[33:31]not care to repent the Hadith States you will not be forgiven

[33:34]if you disrespect the invitation of Allah you as the guest of

[33:39]Allah you did not honor this invitation you will not be forgiven

[33:44]until the next Ramadan comes Allah will give you the opportunity or

[33:48]you go to you go to the Haj that's how serious this

[33:54]invitation is let's show respect to to the invitation of Allah subhah

[34:01]wa ta'ala now another benefit you get my dear brothers and sisters

[34:06]in the month of Ramadan and this one is amazing for those

[34:09]who are spiritual who love the spiritual rewards the king of the

[34:16]universe in the month of Ramadan if you attend his invitation you

[34:20]accept his invitation and you properly conduct yourself in this invitation you

[34:26]earn the satisfaction of Allah Allah will be pleased with you do

[34:32]you know what that means the greatest joy for the Believers is

[34:36]to know that Allah subhana tala is pleased with them that's why

[34:42]Allah States inah verse 72 it's a promise from Allah for the

[34:48]believing man the believing woman Gardens beneath which rivers flow you'll dwell

[35:04]there for eternity and beautiful peaceful homes Allah will give you in

[35:16]The Gardens of Eden now this is the materialistic reward what is

[35:21]the spiritual reward that Allah gives you and the satisfaction of Allah

[35:31]the pleasure of Allah is bigger than all these rewards listen to

[35:36]this Hadith attributed to the IM says on the day of judgment

[35:39]when the people of Heaven are enjoying their blessings you're sitting on

[35:45]those fancy recliners and sofas that the Holy Quran describes and then

[35:51]the trees bring you the fruits you have all these servants working

[35:55]for you anything you desire they bring it for you you at

[36:00]that point Allah speaks to you according to this Hadith Allah addresses

[36:03]you listen to this brothers and sisters Allah will say my servants

[36:08]basically what Allah says is my servants are you satisfied are you

[36:16]happy with these pleasures of course Ya Allah this is beyond anything

[36:20]that we have imagined Allah will tell them do you want something

[37:56]make you sad yes one thing can make you sad if I'm

[38:00]not behaving well at this invitation I should be sad and I

[38:04]should be upset and I should fix it but honestly nothing in

[38:06]this world your job status a family problem a health problem nothing

[38:13]should make you sad when you're surrounded with the blessings of Allah
