[4:38]samahat sayyid salah qazwini up for his lecture after allah alaihi salat

[4:41]alaam muhammad another salawat to get the microphone fixed please are we

[7:58]good i'm sorry a third salawat for the love of imam al

[8:07]hussain alaihi salam no single event in history has managed to attract

[8:20]the attention that the movement and the martyrdom of imam al hussain

[8:27]has attracted this is a phenomenon that we notice every year and

[8:35]we testify to this every year a man who was murdered one

[8:42]four hundred years ago year after year is remembered and is remembered

[8:49]by millions of people not just one day not just a couple

[8:54]of hours but for days this memory continues and the day of

[9:03]ashura you have and then the and the and the walk to

[9:08]imam al hussain and all of this this shows the greatness of

[9:13]imam al hussein and the movement of imam al hussein we have

[9:17]for example some holidays there are very important days in the year

[9:22]the birth of the prophet the muslims they celebrate not all muslims

[9:26]first of all and when they do celebrate they celebrate it for

[9:30]one day or two days christmas the birth of jesus you find

[9:36]people celebrate the birth of jesus but jesus is nowhere in the

[9:41]equation it's all about shopping it's all about santa claus but it's

[9:45]not about jesus it's not about remembering jesus that figure that lived

[9:50]in history however when we look at the movement of imam al

[9:55]hussain we see it circles and it revolves around imam al hussain

[10:00]alaihi salam for days and weeks people are remembering imam al hussain

[10:07]they put their lives on hold their lives on pause just to

[10:11]commemorate the martyrdom of this great man imam al hussain alaihi salam

[10:20]and a lot of people they come and they try to explain

[10:23]this they try to give some excuses as to why is imam

[10:28]al hussain being remembered however there's one way to understand this and

[10:34]that this phenomenon of remembering this man imam al hussein and reviving

[10:40]his mission and crying for him shedding tears for him holding for

[10:46]him giving food for his sake all of this is nothing short

[10:50]of a miracle this is what it is my dear brothers and

[10:53]sisters this is the only way to explain what happened to imam

[10:58]hussein how they tried to fight imam al hussein how they tried

[11:02]to remove his legacy and his memory how they tried to erase

[11:07]imam al hussein from history the same way they tried to erase

[11:11]imam ali from history you know has thousands of praises words of

[11:18]praise from rasulullah to imam ali to imam al hussain to the

[11:22]for eighty years they were cursing the there was a propaganda machine

[11:29]of making people forget who the are not know who the are

[11:36]so this is what they did this is why when was killed

[11:40]he was struck in his while he was praying the people of

[11:44]sham they asked ali praise wow this man he actually prays they

[11:49]were shocked because of all the propaganda against emir al mumineen and

[11:53]same with imam al hussein same with imam al hassan imam al

[11:57]hussein not only did they wage a propaganda war against him they

[12:01]brought the scholars they brought the the head judge the head judge

[12:07]of the time he came and and he issued a fatwa against

[12:10]imam al hussein legitimizing the murder of imam al hussein making it

[12:15]halal for that army to kill imam al hussein that's why some

[12:19]some of those people who were in the army they sought nearness

[12:23]to god by killing imam al hussein alaihi salam omar ibn saad

[12:28]he says oh horsemen of god come and trample the trust of

[12:36]ababdullah so they actually thought that they were seeking nearness to god

[12:42]by carrying out those heinous crimes and this is the problem this

[12:48]is the tragedy this is one of our problems as humans as

[12:52]as humans and muslims specifically is the jahal the ignorance where anyone

[12:58]who comes and sits on the mambar anyone who comes and says

[13:01]a hadith in the name of rasulullah right away people accept it

[13:04]and this is not how we're supposed to be allah subhanahu wa

[13:07]ta'ala wants us to be individuals who do who ponder who think

[13:12]not anything that you hear right away you go and you accept

[13:20]it so they try to destroy the legacy of imam al hussein

[13:25]but the legacy of imam al hussein remained alive allah says in

[13:30]the quran and they try to extinguish the light of god with

[13:45]their words but allah's light can never be extinguished can anyone remove

[13:51]a light that allah subhanahu wa ta'ala has let lit for you

[13:54]no can we remove the remembrance and the memory of imam al

[13:59]hussain of course not this is something that no one and no

[14:04]one has been able to do and no one will be able

[14:08]to do because imam al hussein is associated with allah now my

[14:14]dear brothers and sisters when it comes to the martyrdom of imam

[14:19]al hussain a few days ago in of this past week two

[14:22]weeks we were all commemorating the martyrdom of imam al hussain alaihi

[14:25]salam during the time while hussein was making decisions imam al hussein

[14:33]goes from goes from madinah to mecca and from there he decides

[14:38]on going to iraq there were a lot of political analysts you

[14:42]know right now you turn on some of these news channels and

[14:45]you hear these political analysts they're saying yeah this decision is a

[14:48]good decision this decision is a bad decision there were many of

[14:51]those and most of them if not all of them they were

[14:57]seeing that imam al hussain is going to make a miserable horrible

[15:02]decision he's going to go get himself killed he's standing against this

[15:08]giant of a government and they have power they have authority he's

[15:13]going to get himself killed and many people were telling imam al

[15:17]hussein don't do this because they were seeing things in the way

[15:22]people see things apparently when you look at things you're going to

[15:27]see imam al hussein was making a horrible decision however imam al

[15:31]hussein and the al bayt they saw victory from that day today

[15:37]right now fourteen hundred years after the martyrdom of imam al hussein

[15:42]you ask people who was victorious imam al hussein or yazid they're

[15:46]going to tell you imam al hussein was victorious yazid is being

[15:50]cursed yazid no there's no grave for him no one remembers him

[15:55]imam al hussein is still alive in the hearts of people imam

[15:58]al hussein is bringing people back to god imam al hussein people

[16:01]remember him people cry for him people shed tears for him he

[16:06]is alive in our hearts more than anyone else and allah says

[16:09]in the quran and do not consider those who were slain in

[16:18]the way of god as dead they are alive but you don't

[16:20]realize it so imam al hussein now we see it fourteen hundred

[16:25]years later we say imam al hussein is alive but at that

[16:29]time people were saying imam al hussein is going to make a

[16:32]horrible decision so what was the view what was the perspective that

[16:38]imam al hussain he himself had when he was going and the

[16:43]answer is that imam al hussain he saw from the beginning of

[16:48]the movement even before he heads out of medina and he goes

[16:53]to mecca and then from there he goes to karbala imam al

[16:57]hussein saw the victory in front of his eyes imam al hussein

[17:00]saw that he is going to revive the message of rasulullah and

[17:06]the religion of islam and it needed that life he knew exactly

[17:12]what he was doing and what was going to happen at that

[17:17]particular time and what's going to happen in the future this is

[17:21]why imam al hussain alaihi salam when he goes to mecca the

[17:26]letters of the people of kufa they start coming in the thousands

[17:30]to imam al hussain they start sending him thousands because they heard

[17:34]imam al hussein left medina without giving so they started sending him

[17:40]thousands of letters telling him come we will support you we will

[17:44]aid you and imam al hussein at the same time he was

[17:48]not being fooled by these letters that were coming because he knows

[17:51]what's in the hearts of these people he knows exactly what's going

[17:54]to happen but imam al hussein was looking for individuals that will

[17:59]be eternalized individuals like habib individuals like like these individuals he would

[18:07]go and he would pick them out just like the bird picks

[18:11]out the good seed from the bad seed he would come to

[18:13]them and he would talk to them he would pick them out

[18:16]he would tell them come with me be with me and he

[18:19]was not promising them rule he was not promising them power he

[18:23]was not promising them any of the dunya but he was promising

[18:27]them now victory in the eyes of imam al hussein is one

[18:31]thing and victory in the eyes of people who are after dunya

[18:35]is something else so even some of his family members you know

[18:39]many of benny hashem did not join imam al hussein there were

[18:42]several from benny that did not join imam al hussain because they

[18:45]were giving him advice were telling him what you're doing is a

[18:48]horrible decision and of course many of them most of them did

[18:52]join imam al hussain so he writes a letter to benny hashem

[18:56]he tells them he tells them whoever joins me will gain shahada

[19:12]and whoever does not join me will not gain the victory the

[19:17]fat and then the short letter one sentence he tells them what

[19:23]does this mean this means means that imam al hussain he sees

[19:27]that victory is not always what is apparent to the eyes sometimes

[19:34]we consider victory if i made money if i have power if

[19:38]i have authority that is what i consider victory imam al hussein

[19:42]his calculations are different from ours imam al hussein he sees shahada

[19:46]as the greatest victory so he tells them whoever joins me will

[19:50]be killed and even when he was saying goodbye to muslim ibn

[19:54]akhil he sends muslim ibn akhil to go and be the representative

[19:58]and take bayah when he's saying goodbye to him he says i

[20:02]ask allah to grant me and grant you the shahada this is

[20:06]imam al hussein imam al hussein knew exactly what was happening and

[20:12]he had foresight and this is this rule my dear brothers and

[20:18]sisters victory real victory is achieved through work through determination through efforts

[20:25]this is a rule in this life right now if you want

[20:28]to be successful in this life if you want to be victorious

[20:31]in this dunya according to the worldly standards you have to work

[20:35]and same with the akhirah and this is why allah says god

[20:45]is making with the believers the makes this transaction with god you

[20:51]give your wealth and you give your soul for the sake of

[20:56]allah it doesn't mean giving your soul for god doesn't necessarily mean

[21:02]you go and get yourself killed it means don't sell your salt

[21:06]don't sell your soul to shaitan don't sell your soul to this

[21:09]dunya don't sell it cheap meaning your soul has value make that

[21:16]only with god because it is god who knows the value of

[21:20]that soul it is god who knows you it is god who

[21:22]loves you it is god who has given you everything so make

[21:26]that transaction with allah so imam al hussein he made that transaction

[21:32]transaction and he knew exactly what he was doing today some people

[21:37]they come and they say imam al hussain he got himself into

[21:40]a mess he didn't know he wanted power and he ended up

[21:43]getting killed that's nonsense amal hussein knew exactly what he was doing

[21:48]and there are many many narrations that corroborate with this there are

[21:53]many narrations from rasulullah from from the from imam al hussein himself

[22:00]that show that the they knew exactly exactly what imam al hussein

[22:07]was doing in a hadith narrated by sheikh al mufid sheikh al

[22:11]mufid is scholar a that lived over one thousand years ago so

[22:16]this means this is not a new hadith you know there are

[22:19]some people they have the habit of questioning any hadith that's out

[22:22]there now there are some hadith there are some that you put

[22:26]a big question mark on them but when a hadith goes back

[22:29]to a scholar like sheikh al mufid over a thousand years ago

[22:33]it had you have to give it more respect it has authenticity

[22:36]and i would not have mentioned it if it was not mentioned

[22:40]by sheikh al mufid this great scholar he narrates a hadith from

[22:44]imam sadiq alaihi salam he says he says when imam al hussein

[22:56]left medina many hundreds of angels they met imam al hussein angels

[23:03]now can an angel speak to someone who is not a prophet

[23:07]yes allah says in the quran the angel spoke to miriam if

[23:18]the angels could speak to mariam mariam is not a prophet they

[23:22]can't speak to imam al hussain so this is not something difficult

[23:26]to comprehend especially knowing the status of imam al hussain knowing that

[23:30]he is the grandson of the prophet and knowing his status this

[23:35]is not difficult to comprehend and these angels they had they were

[23:40]ready to fight they tell imam al hussein you are the of

[23:50]god upon the creation after your grandfather your father and your brother

[23:55]we aided your grandfather in the battle of badr allah says in

[23:59]the in the battle of badr the angels came down and they

[24:04]helped the muslims defeat the kufar the muslims were three thirteen while

[24:08]the kufar were over 1,000 so they tell him we aided your

[24:13]grandfather in the battle of badr and we are here to aid

[24:17]you again imam al hussein he tells them he says my appointment

[24:31]with you is the hole that i fall in the ground in

[24:35]in the land of karbala my grave that's my appointment with you

[24:43]that's where i will come to you that's where you will come

[24:46]to me and the place that i will be killed is karbala

[24:52]and the place that i will be buried is karbala and here

[24:57]we see that imam al hussain was very clear he says when

[25:02]i fall there then that's when you come to me so imam

[25:05]al hussain has four sides imam al hussain knows exactly what is

[25:10]happening another hadith one of the narrators he was with imam al

[25:18]hussein he says as we were travelling with imam al hussein he

[25:22]was riding on the horse and his eyes shut for a few

[25:27]moments while they were travelling his eyes shut for a few moments

[25:32]and then he wakes up and he says and he says he

[25:45]says this three times so his son ali al akbar the oldest

[25:49]son of imam al hussein he comes to him and he tells

[25:52]him why did you say and then later on you come and

[25:59]you say he says i slept for a few moments and i

[26:14]saw a horseman riding the horse and he was saying the caravan

[26:24]is moving and their death is moving with them they're getting nearer

[26:28]and nearer to their time of death so he says he says

[26:36]then i realized that our time of death has come near and

[26:41]it's the time that allah subhanahu wa ta'ala has promised us so

[26:47]he tells him oh my father may allah not show you any

[26:55]harm are we not on the truth so imam he tells him

[27:01]yes by god who all the returned to him then he says

[27:10]then therefore we don't mind we go to death or death comes

[27:20]to us we welcome it as long as we are on the

[27:23]as long as we're on the truth and this my dear brothers

[27:28]and sisters is one of the most important lessons that we can

[27:31]learn from imam al hussein beyond the truth be with the and

[27:36]don't care about anything else because if you are with the then

[27:41]that's it you have attained the eternal victory you have attained the

[27:45]greatest honor and victory in this dunya and in the afterlife but

[27:49]if you're not with the haq even if you have short term

[27:54]victory in this dunya like yazid like the others what does that

[27:59]mean that's praise him and he places that body in the grave

[28:05]and he says and then he says victory and glory to a

[28:30]land that holds your pure body as for this dunya it is

[28:42]dark after you and the it is full of light after you

[29:10]sleepless my sorrow will be eternal for you oh abba abdullah until

[29:16]god chooses the right time that i join you but this body

[29:21]of imam know when a person is buried they have to place

[29:25]their right cheek on the soil there was no head in the

[29:30]body of imam al hussain alaihi salam imam zain al abideen he

[29:35]kissed the neck of imam al hussain and then he heard a

[29:39]voice telling him place my infant son on my chest he places

[29:49]his abdullah the six month old baby on the chest of abba

[29:54]abdullah and next to his feet he buries ali al akbar then

[30:00]he closes the grave he pours the soil on the grave and

[30:05]he writes with his finger this is the grave of hussain the

[30:18]son of ali who was killed thirsty and a stranger as low

[30:25]and lonely then he goes they tell him there's another body a

[30:30]big a body but this body is also mutilated no hands no

[30:35]head next to the river this is a body he could tell

[30:40]this is a brave man he tells them this is my uncle

[30:44]abul fadlil abbas he goes there he buries abul fadlil abbas grant

[31:40]us the of imam al hussein make us from the loyal followers

[31:47]of imam al hussein and his grandson imam al mahdi al mutadar

[31:51]let us stand out of respect for the imam of our time

[33:34]inshallah it's prayer time we're going to go and do the prayer

[33:37]and right after the prayer we will do inshallah muhammad and for

[74:06]the souls of all of the from the of imran muhammad muhammad
