[0:59]Aliuhammed Ali Muhammaduhammed Ali Muhammad [Music] [Music] My dear brothers and sisters,
[1:51]we understand from this verse in Kaboot that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
[2:01]will guide you towards the haya and towards guidance.
[2:11]You need Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala to reach your end goal.
[2:15]Allah says in the Quran to reach your ultimate goal in life
[2:26]which is to be on the path of God to have Allah
[2:32]subhanahu wa ta'ala pleased with you.
[2:35]You are in need of guidance.
[2:37]That means that I cannot be guided on my own.
[2:43]just on my own I cannot be guided.
[2:48]I need Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala for the guidance and this is
[2:52]why every day we ask Allah guide me to the straight path.
[3:01]This is why we say alhamdulill God is the one who guided
[3:07]us to the faith.
[3:07]I would not have been guided on my own.
[3:10]And we need to understand that anything good that we do this
[3:16]comes from Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
[3:18]This is the first point.
[3:23]To be on the right path, you need the support of God.
[3:28]Number two, Allah says in the Quran, to reach your ultimate goal,
[3:36]which is to be with Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala and have God
[3:40]pleased with you.
[3:42]Does it just come for free?
[3:43]Does it just come without difficulties, without pain, without challenges?
[3:48]No.
[3:49]Allah says in the Quran, you have to strive, you have to
[3:54]struggle, you have to put effort in order to be on the
[4:01]right path.
[4:03]So we understand that nothing comes for free in this dunya.
[4:06]If I want to have a strong family, if I want to
[4:10]have a good career, if I want to be healthy, if I
[4:12]want to have a business, whatever it is, I need to struggle.
[4:18]Well, when it comes to haya, when it comes to guidance and
[4:21]being on the path of God and having Allah subhana wa ta'ala
[4:27]pleased with me, similarly, I need to struggle.
[4:31]And we understand that when it comes to our daytoday life, we
[4:35]struggle every day.
[4:35]There are people they get up from morning, the sun has not
[4:41]come out yet, and they come home and the sun has set.
[4:43]They're working all day.
[4:46]You ask them why.
[4:46]He says I have to work.
[4:48]They have to work.
[4:48]They have to struggle.
[4:51]I need to make a living.
[4:52]We understand that we must put effort for this dunya.
[4:57]But some of us we find it very difficult to understand and
[5:00]comprehend when it comes to the we expect the haya to just
[5:06]come for free.
[5:04]We expect the guidance to come for free.
[5:08]We expect to have that spirituality and go to heaven and have
[5:11]our duas answered without any struggle whatsoever.
[5:15]But that is not how it works.
[5:19]You need to struggle just like you struggle for the you have
[5:25]to struggle and strive for the and you have to pursue certain
[5:31]things.
[5:30]What are the important things that we must pursue in life?
[5:35]You ask an average person, you tell them, "What do you chase
[5:41]after?
[5:42]What do you pursue in your life?" They'll tell you, "I pursue
[5:46]wealth.
[5:47]I pursue my money.
[5:47]I pursue my career." This is probably the number one thing that
[5:52]everyone pursues.
[5:54]And this is something that is okay.
[5:57]Every single one of us, we have to make a livelihood.
[6:01]We have to make a living.
[6:03]But is it the most important thing to pursue?
[6:06]No.
[6:07]The hadith of he tells his son he tells him there's two
[6:23]types of sustenance.
[6:26]There's one sustenance which you chase, you go after, and you have
[6:29]to work for.
[6:31]But there's another type of sustenance that you don't even need to
[6:34]pursue.
[6:34]You don't even need to strive for.
[6:36]You don't even need to work for.
[6:38]It has been destined for you.
[6:39]And it will come to you.
[6:40]Whether you work for it or not, it will come to you.
[6:45]He tells him if you don't go to it, it will come
[6:56]to you.
[6:54]You see most of the most of the sustenance that we have
[7:00]in our life it's actually sustenance that has come to us my
[7:04]parents my family my children all of that I don't need to
[7:10]work hard for it Allah subhana wa ta'ala sends it my way
[7:12]and most of the sustenance that we have in our life it's
[7:18]because God has sent it to us so do I really need
[7:22]to have that stress and that anxiety over pursuing risk, over pursuing
[7:27]sustenance when sustenance has already been promised to me.
[7:29]Allah subhana wa ta'ala promises me that my sustenance for as long
[7:35]as I'm alive is going to continue to pour down upon me,
[7:38]continue to come down upon me.
[7:39]However, while the majority of us, you ask a person, what do
[7:45]you pursue in life?
[7:45]They say, I have to get rich.
[7:47]I have to make money.
[7:48]I have to pay the bills.
[7:48]I have to do this.
[7:50]I have to do that.
[7:50]We're pursuing wealth.
[7:53]But there are more important things that we must pursue and they
[7:57]will not come to us if we don't pursue them.
[8:01]So what are the things in life that I need to go
[8:06]after and will not come for me to me for free will
[8:07]not come to me if I don't run after.
[8:09]So risk will come to me.
[8:13]There is a type of risk that will come to me even
[8:14]if I don't go after it.
[8:17]But there's something else that is probably even more important than risk
[8:22]and sustenance that I have to chase and go after.
[8:24]Number one, knowledge.
[8:27]Knowledge is something that you have to pursue.
[8:31]It's not something that will come to you.
[8:34]Can I just sit idle and exp and and expect to have
[8:38]my knowledge increase?
[8:38]No.
[8:38]But maybe I could sit idle and I could have passive income.
[8:43]That's something that could happen.
[8:45]But knowledge will never come in a passive way.
[8:47]Knowledge is something that you have to seek.
[8:50]You have to work for.
[8:52]You have to strive for, you have to put effort and time
[8:55]and energy.
[8:57]This is why we say seeking knowledge meaning you have to work
[9:02]for it.
[9:04]You have to seek it.
[9:08]And says, "Seeking knowledge, meaning going after it, pursuing it is an
[9:19]obligation upon every Muslim, male or female.
[9:21]But seeking risk is not an obligation because there's a type of
[9:27]risk that will come to you.
[9:28]Yes, you have to work for your for to make a living,
[9:32]but the risk is already guaranteed for you.
[9:35]But seeking knowledge, it's not guaranteed if I'm just sitting idally.
[9:39]I need to go to it.
[9:39]I need to strive and work for it.
[9:41]And this is why we see Musam.
[9:46]And last night we were explaining this verse.
[9:47]Prophet MS who's a prophet of God.
[9:51]Allah tells him there is someone more knowledgeable than you.
[9:55]And MS who's a grand great prophet of Allah from the prophets
[9:59]he sets off on a journey to seek knowledge.
[10:08][Music] He says I'm not going to quit.
[10:14]I'm going to seek that knowledge and I'm going to find that
[10:16]knowledgeable person.
[10:18]What does that teach you?
[10:19]That teaches you that there are certain things that are more valuable
[10:22]than wealth.
[10:24]There are certain things that are more valuable than having money and
[10:28]one of them is seeking knowledge.
[10:30]Seeking knowledge is something that you have to pursue.
[10:34]You don't wait for knowledge to come to you.
[10:35]You have to go to the knowledge.
[10:40]Number two, another thing that we have to chase and we have
[10:43]to pursue and we have to go after and this dunya is
[10:49]our imam.
[10:49]Your im is someone that you have to go to.
[10:52]Your im does not come to you.
[10:57]You need to go to your im.
[10:58]And Allah says in the Quran on the day of judgment we
[11:07]will summon everyone by their im.
[11:09]That means every person needs to know who their im is.
[11:12]Every person needs to know who they follow.
[11:14]And you have to go to the imam.
[11:17]This is why when Imam al Mai rises, may Allah hasten his
[11:23]reappearance, will he come to the people or will he make an
[11:25]announcement and people will go to him?
[11:28]People will have to go to him.
[11:32]We will have to no matter how busy, no matter how busy
[11:34]my schedule is, what's going on in my life, if I want
[11:38]to be with my imam, what do I have to do?
[11:41]I have to drop everything and I go to my im.
[11:44]And this is the same thing that happened with Ali.
[11:48]After the death of s they came and they said why didn't
[11:57]fight for power why didn't he go and tell people follow me
[11:59]here and follow me here and force them and cause wars the
[12:04]same way others did his philosophy was different why because he says
[12:09]they tell him why don't you go and chase the power the
[12:15]way other people are he tells them I heard a hadith from
[12:18]He says, he says, "You, oh Ali," and this is narrated in
[12:29]many sources.
[12:31]He says, "You Ali, you are like thea." People go to thea.
[12:34]Thea does not go to anyone else.
[12:36]You are like the [Music] to him tells him if they come
[12:52]to you and they seek you because you are the more knowledgeable
[12:54]one.
[12:55]You are the more valuable one.
[12:56]If they seek you then you accept them but if they don't
[13:01]come to you then you don't go after them.
[13:03]You don't go after them.
[13:05]They won't be worthy of having an imam like Ali.
[13:08]But on the day of judgment, everyone is in need of their
[13:13]im and everyone needs to stand behind their im.
[13:17]Everyone will have to stand behind their imam on the day of
[13:25]judgment.
[13:23]So these are some examples of certain things that we have to
[13:29]pursue in life.
[13:28]Yes, I pursue wealth, but to a degree it's not as important
[13:33]as we make it seem like because risk is two types of
[13:38]risk.
[13:36]is one that you seek but the more important one is the
[13:40]one that seeks you.
[13:40]I don't need to chase it.
[13:43]I could have passive income but knowledge.
[13:45]Can I have passive knowledge?
[13:47]No.
[13:48]Knowledge is something that I have to seek.
[13:50]Same with your imam.
[13:52]I can't just sit idle and expect to be a follower of
[13:57]my imam.
[13:55]I need to prove to my im that I am a loyal
[13:59]and devout and sincere follower.
[14:01]That's how I prove that I'm a follower of the imam.
[14:04]And inshallah in the second we'll give an example of someone who
[14:08]pursued that and that guidance through one of the companions of allham
[14:31]Muhammad Allah Alhamdulillah.
[14:41]Alhamdulillah.
[15:17]Aliham.
[15:20]Aliuhammed.
[15:44]Hassini Hussein Muhammad Ali Muhammad Hassni Shar [Music] Continuing the discussion on
[16:18]haya guidance which we mentioned that guidance is something that Allah subhanahu
[16:25]wa ta'ala grants it does not come for free and guidance is
[16:29]something that you have to work for guidance is not something that
[16:33]I don't pursue and it just comes to me, I need to
[16:37]pursue it.
[16:39]I need to chase it.
[16:38]I need to go after it.
[16:43]And if Allah subhana wa ta'ala in this verse that we began
[16:47]with if someone is sincere in finding guidance with a true believing
[17:02]heart with genuine sincerity Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala will guide you to
[17:07]the truth no matter how far your odds might be no matter
[17:10]how low your odds might be to being guided.
[17:14]If someone is truly sincere, Allah will guide them.
[17:18]This is the rule of Allah subhana wa ta'ala.
[17:20]Don't think that Islam for example is only for those people who
[17:27]were with near the prophet and close to Islam could be for
[17:32]someone that you don't even imagine one day this person being a
[17:36]believer yet people will become believers.
[17:39]And this is what happened with Islam.
[17:41]There were people who were close to the prophet, the people of
[17:47]Mecca, Abu Lahab, the uncle of the prophet.
[17:49]They were close to the prophet.
[17:51]They should have been the first people to believe.
[17:54]But they were, some of them did not believe and others fought
[17:59]for many years.
[18:01]While there were others that were far that when you think about
[18:04]it, this per you'd say this person is very far from Islam.
[18:09]Yet they believe in Islam and they take it.
[18:11]This is why my dear brothers and sisters, one rule especially for
[18:15]us Muslims living in a predominantly non-Muslim society, don't ever don't ever
[18:22]assume that someone is not worthy of haya.
[18:25]No matter where they come from, no matter what their language is,
[18:28]no matter what their background is, don't ever assume that they're not
[18:33]worthy of guidance because they might be more accepting to the truth
[18:40]than the people who you think are born with the truth and
[18:44]people who you expect to have the truth by default.
[18:48]And one of the most beautiful stories of one of the sahab
[18:54]of shows us this verse.
[19:01]Those who strive and struggle for our cause, they will definitely find
[19:07]it.
[19:08]You just need to have a pure heart.
[19:10]You just need to have that sincerity and Allah will guide you
[19:14]to the truth.
[19:17]And this companion was Salman Pharisee.
[19:20]Salman al- Farese.
[19:20]He was not born in the Arabian Peninsula.
[19:22]He was not from Mecca.
[19:23]He was born in the Persian Empire to a family of Zarastrians.
[19:30]They used to worship the fire.
[19:34]And Salman, he used to be he was born in a house
[19:37]that his father used to take care of the fire and maintain
[19:41]the fire of the Zerastrians.
[19:44]And his father one day he summons him, he tells him, I
[19:49]want you to go and bring me something.
[19:53]So Salman leaves the temple and he is in in his city
[20:00]they say from Isahan and he is he is walking out and
[20:03]he meets a group of Christians.
[20:07]At that time Christianity was a new religion.
[20:08]It was it hasn't been very long maybe 100 years 200 years
[20:16]300 years from the time of uh from the time of Isaam.
[20:20]So Christianity was very close to the truth.
[20:23]It was a very logical it hadn't been deviated the way later
[20:29]on it deviated.
[20:28]So Salman he's young he sees the group of Christians and right
[20:35]away he feels attracted.
[20:35]He sees that this message makes sense monotheism and it's close to
[20:41]so he starts listening to them and he wants to join their
[20:45]faith.
[20:46]He goes to his father.
[20:46]He tells his father I want to be with the Christians.
[20:51]His father punishes him.
[20:51]He scolds him and he tells him, "You're trapped here." And he
[20:58]ties him up and he keeps him in the temple, the Zarastrian
[21:03]temple.
[21:01]Now, Salman, when you taste the truth, when you taste freedom, you
[21:09]can't go back to how life was.
[21:12]So, Salman, he made it his effort and he put all his
[21:15]effort so that he leaves and he escap escapes.
[21:18]He sends in one way or another he sends a message to
[21:23]these people the Christians at that time and they come and they
[21:27]rescue him.
[21:28]They come and they rescue him and he ends up leaving the
[21:30]temple and he ends up leaving Persia and he goes all the
[21:36]way to the hub of Christianity at that time which was Damascus.
[21:40]He goes to Damascus and there he is living with the priest,
[21:48]the high priest of the time and he is taking in that
[21:51]knowledge.
[21:52]He's consuming that haya and that knowledge and after he he goes
[21:58]there then he travels to get higher levels of knowledge.
[22:03]He goes to an area by the name of Nusin which is
[22:09]on the border of Syria and Turkey.
[22:11]And there he meets the high chief, the high priest and he
[22:16]is being taught under that high priest.
[22:18]Many years pass, many years pass and Salman has become an expert
[22:25]in Christianity.
[22:25]Before that high priest dies, he tells him, "Oh, Salman," of course
[22:30]his name was not Salman at that time.
[22:32]It was Ruseba.
[22:35]He tells him, "Oh, Rusebah, I want you to go and pursue
[22:39]that final messenger." And it is going to be around this time
[22:45]that the final messenger is going to reveal himself in the Arabian
[22:50]Peninsula in Ythre.
[22:50]So, Salman, the man dies and Salman, he finds a caravan.
[22:56]Look at the struggles.
[22:56]He left his father.
[22:59]He was imprisoned.
[22:59]Now he comes here and he keeps pursuing the knowledge.
[23:04]You have to strive for the cause of God.
[23:06]He goes and he finds a caravan.
[23:10]He tells them, "I brought my food with me.
[23:12]I have money I'll give you.
[23:14]I want you to deliver me to Yreb." Of course, how is
[23:16]he going to travel in the desert?
[23:19]He needs a caravan.
[23:20]the caravan.
[23:22]They tell him okay.
[23:21]They take him and once they reach close to the borders of
[23:28]Ythre, which later on becomes Medina, that caravan, they turn against him.
[23:34]They come and they enslave him and then they hand him over
[23:37]to the to a Jewish tribe in in Ythreb.
[23:41]They hand him over and they say he's a slave.
[23:44]And if he tells you he's not a slave, he's lying.
[23:49]So they they sell him to that Jewish tribe in so now
[23:51]Salman who was a free man born in the Persian Empire he
[23:57]goes to Damascus then he goes to now he is a slave
[24:03]in to a Jewish tribe he's working and he ends up working
[24:09]in the farms dates and he makes these straw mats the as
[24:13]he's doing that one day he hears a group of the Jews
[24:18]years probably pass.
[24:18]He hears groups of the Jews talking.
[24:20]They say they say to each other, "Do you know what these
[24:26]fools," the people of Medina, the Ansar who were the at the
[24:28]time they invited the prophet, they the Jews, they say, "Do you
[24:34]know what these fools what they did?
[24:36]They invited a man from Mecca from Quraysh and they accepted him
[24:40]as their prophet." and and Salman is listening and he tells them
[24:46]this is who you are waiting for as well.
[24:48]You the Christians, you are waiting for the Messiah.
[24:51]You are waiting for this man, the prophet in this area.
[24:53]They tell him be quiet.
[24:56]You have nothing to do with this.
[24:57]He hears more news that there's this prophet.
[25:01]He's in Medina and and Salman he's also in Medina in a
[25:07]different part and he was a scholar.
[25:08]He knows that this prophet has signs in him.
[25:11]So he takes some of the dates that he had.
[25:14]He because he used to grow his own dates.
[25:15]He takes some of the dates that he has and he goes
[25:22]to see these dates that he had they were they were charity.
[25:26]And he knows that this prophet does not take sodaka.
[25:31]He takes a gift but he does not take charity.
[25:34]So he doesn't tell him.
[25:35]He comes and he gives it to him.
[25:37]The prophet tells him I'm sorry I can't eat that.
[25:39]And then he comes behind because the prophet had a mark on
[25:47]his back, the seal of the prophet.
[25:49]He comes back knew what Salman was doing.
[25:53]He lowers his shirt and then Salman sees the prophet and right
[25:58]away he says, "I bear." >> He says, "I bear witness that
[26:05]you are the messenger of God." And then he begins to tell
[26:08]Allah his story.
[26:10]He wants to tell him his story.
[26:11]Allah tells him, "You don't need to tell me your story.
[26:15]I know you.
[26:14]You are Salman." And he name he changed his name into Salman.
[26:21]Now Salman has found Allah, but he's still a slave.
[26:23]He goes back to his slave owner and he tells him, "I
[26:28]want the freedom.
[26:29]I want to leave you.
[26:29]I want to be with Allah." He tells him if you want
[26:35]to leave me you have to give me 300 date trees 300
[26:42]palm trees.
[26:40]So Salman comes to and Allah along with the Muslims they plant
[26:48]300 trees and within two years Salman hands over these 300 trees
[26:54]and he comes to he comes to the prophet on the fifth
[27:00]year after the h and then that year was the battle of
[27:04]the trench.
[27:05]The Muslims were scared.
[27:08]You have group of people attacking them from the north and group
[27:11]attacking them from the south.
[27:12]They don't know what to do.
[27:15]How are they going to defend themselves?
[27:17]Salman tells them, "Let's dig a trench." This was an idea that
[27:19]no one has thought of before.
[27:20]None of the Arabs knew before.
[27:24]He tells them, "Let's dig a trench." And they dug the trench
[27:27]and they defended themselves.
[27:28]After that battle ended, the Ansar, they said, "We want Salman to
[27:35]be from us." And the muajarin they said no let him be
[27:36]from us because he migrated not from Mecca but he migrated the
[27:42]said no he was from so he's from usoolah tells them he
[27:45]is not from you and he's not from you salman is from
[27:56]us and salman reached that high level of knowledge because he came
[28:01]and he joined the religion of Islam based on based on understanding.
[28:05]He became an expert in Christianity, an expert in Judaism.
[28:13]And then he came and he joined Allah told him, "Oh Salman,
[28:18]I'm going to make you brothers with Abu Dari." And then he
[28:21]tells Abu Dar, "Oh Abu Dar, I've made you brothers with Salman.
[28:26]But you have to listen to Salman and you have to obey
[28:28]Salman because Salman he reached that level of Islam based on understanding
[28:34]based on and based on and this is why Salman was one
[28:42]who was nurtured with that knowledge." And after the death of the
[28:47]prophet, many people left the B.
[28:49]Many people left.
[28:50]They come to Salman.
[28:52]They tell him, "Oh Salman, many people left Ali.
[28:55]Why did you not leave him?
[28:57]You're older than him.
[28:57]You're much older than him.
[28:59]You could leave him.
[29:00]You don't need to follow someone who's younger than you." He tells
[29:04]them, "I heard from the one who loves me.
[29:13]then this person has to love and therefore I heard and I'm
[29:20]going to remain with my dear brothers and sisters this is a
[29:27]story of someone who achieved that guidance someone all the way from
[29:34]the Persian Empire he made it all the way from zerastrianism to
[29:38]Christianity being enslaved by a group of Jews and then he he
[29:42]he came This teaches us that haya and guidance is very achievable
[29:48]as long as you have a pure heart and as long as
[29:52]you strive for it.
[29:52]It does not come for free.
[29:55]Nothing comes for free.
[29:55]We have to strive and struggle for it.
[29:58]My dear brothers and sisters, we ask Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala to
[30:02]increase our haya to support us when we are on the path
[30:07]of the hak.
[30:07]You ask Allah subhanana wa ta'ala I want to be on the
[30:11]path of the truth and you show sincerity and Allah subhanana wa
[30:15]ta'ala will support you in that you just have to make an
[30:19]effort you just have to strive and the hadith says you take
[30:24]one step just one step towards Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala Allah subhanahu
[30:30]wa ta'ala will take 99 steps towards you just need to take
[30:33]that first step you just need to make an effort you just
[30:35]need to put it in your int attention that you will strive
[30:40]to find the huck and the truth.
[30:43]My dear brothers and sisters, we are living in a time where
[30:46]our faith, our morality, our religion, our ideology on life is constantly
[30:57]being tested.
[30:56]Constantly being tested.
[30:58]You send your kids to school, they're being tested.
[31:00]You go out to work, you're tested.
[31:04]You watch TV, you're tested.
[31:05]We're always being exposed to test.
[31:07]This is why we have to ask Allah for the guidance and
[31:09]for the haya.
[31:11]And we have to support that which supports our haya and supports
[31:16]our guidance and the guidance of our children.
[31:19]My dear brothers and sisters, I want to remind you all the
[31:22]alhamdulillah we got the site plan approval was already accepted for the
[31:28]building and now the engineers are working on getting the MEP the
[31:33]mechanical, electrical and plumbing and once we have that we are going
[31:39]to be able to groundbreak but we cannot groundbreak if we do
[31:43]not have the money if we have not raised enough money.
[31:46]And this is one of the ways that we could increase our
[31:48]tiat.
[31:49]We could increase our haya maybe not for me but for my
[31:52]children for pre for for next generations that will come and that
[31:59]will benefit and that will acquire their religion.
[32:00]And I wanted to remind you that we have out of the
[32:07]alhamdulillah 500 prayer spots at $5,000 each.
[32:10]We have 83 spots left.
[32:10]We have 83 spots.
[32:13]We could definitely if every person takes one, pledges one and you
[32:17]could pay it from now until the spring.
[32:20]They say inshallah maybe by spring we'll be able to do the
[32:24]groundbreaking and that will really help us achieve a great a greater
[32:27]goal and it will bring us closer to our goal inshallah.
[32:32]May Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala increase our and give us the to
[32:36]do that which is good.
[32:41]Alhamdulillah.
[32:39]And we ask Allah subhanah wa ta'ala to bless our shuada, our
[32:47]martyrs to give healing to those who have suffered in the last
[32:51]war in Gaza and Lebanon.
[32:55]We pray for the m and we ask Allah subhanana wa ta'ala
[32:57]to make us from the m and to give us the strength
[33:03]to stand with the hak.
[33:14]Raheem.
