[0:01][Music] when you and i and many individuals stand and say ya

[0:13]ali it is in reference and in respect to the commander of

[0:19]the faithful emir [Music] it's an utterance that indeed you and i

[0:32]have practiced and have mentioned throughout our lives you find in many

[0:38]occasions people enjoy mentioning and remembering the commander of the faithful yet

[0:46]of course there are people today who have emerged and have come

[0:51]forward and complained some of them have stood against this particular practice

[0:55]they have said why is it that you say ya ali surely

[1:00]you should say ya allah surely you should not call the names

[1:03]of certain individuals first thing i would like to say is when

[1:05]it comes to calling someone is this permissible or not all of

[1:10]us agree that indeed it's something that you and i practice on

[1:13]a regular basis we call each other isn't it by their names

[1:17]in fact allah subhanahu wa does what he calls his prophets he

[1:27]says he calls ibrahim he calls yahya yes the prophets he calls

[1:31]them not only does he call them he says we must remember

[1:37]them we must utter their name with kurfield remember them mention them

[1:49]therefore the remembrance and the mentioning of these holy individuals is something

[1:54]sanctioned by the holy quran allah says you should remember them who

[1:58]are you and i to come forward and say we should not

[2:01]recall the name of these holy individuals isn't it the first thing

[2:05]is this the second tell me aren't we you and i and

[2:10]muslims claiming to be the followers of the holy prophet and when

[2:12]we say the followers of the holy prophet that means whatever he

[2:15]does we do and whatever he says we should not do we

[2:18]will not do tell me who was one of the first few

[2:23]who came and said ya ali it was rasulullah you say where

[2:29]let me give you examples the hadith that is authentic established by

[2:33]in all muslim books of hadith the prophet of islam comes forward

[2:38]and says what he says you are to me like what aaron

[2:47]was to moses the prophet of islam says the one who is

[2:54]at peace with you is at peace with me and the one

[2:57]who fights you and the one is the one who fights me

[2:59]the prophet of islam would say ya ali calling amir al-mu'min and

[3:04]would say you and i are from one tree and the rest

[3:11]of the people are from different trees yes to the prophet saying

[3:16]now the quran whatever the prophet did you and i must do

[3:22]when the prophet says ya ali then i will also say in

[3:27]addition to this some people may ask the question fine the prophet

[3:30]of islam mentioned ya ali but did he specifically say we you

[3:34]and i must mention it of course he did you'll find the

[3:38]famous narration in which we find it in several books by our

[3:43]brothers such as what such as kenzil omal by al-muttaqiel hindi in

[3:48]volume 11 such as the book by allama jalaluddin such as the

[3:55]book by ibn asakir tariq non-shia books they come forward and say

[3:59]that rasulullah said the mentioning of ali is worship people ask the

[4:10]question when the prophet says the mentioning of ali is what is

[4:16]worship what does this mean does this mean god forbid it is

[4:20]the worship of the commander of the faithful of course not because

[4:22]amir al-mu'min is a servant of god in fact the prophet of

[4:28]islam was described as described in the holy quran as what as

[4:34]abdullah when the quran comes forward and says that's why of course

[4:44]this station of servitude was one that was what expressed by the

[4:48]holy albeit but what does it mean when the prophet of islam

[4:51]says the mentioning of ali is worship what does this mean it

[4:58]means that is the champion of tawheed it refers to the idea

[5:10]that through aliyah we can get proximity to allah we can understand

[5:13]what to hate in reality is we can appreciate the worship of

[5:19]the almighty subhanahu wata'ala why you ask me i tell you amir

[5:24]al-mu'min was born in the house of god he was martyred in

[5:27]the house of god and in between his life was dedicated to

[5:29]tawheed we believe when you and i state ya ali it is

[5:36]what one of its applications is what is we are seeking nearness

[5:42]to allah subhanahu wa ta'ala through the commander of the faithful amir

[5:49]al-malika some people ask the question though very important they say okay

[5:57]but this is a statement that has been misunderstood by some people

[6:03]in other words should we stick to ya allah and not say

[6:07]ya ali because sometimes people may misconstrue this they may misunderstand this

[6:12]i tell you there is a reason why the bait have emphasized

[6:17]the need to mention the name of the commander of the faithful

[6:20]because for many years he was fought for many years his name

[6:26]was attacked for many years he was cursed from the pulpits for

[6:30]many years people in sham would say that actually pray when they

[6:37]are told that ali was struck whilst he was performing the prayers

[6:40]there was a concerted effort by many to obliterate the name of

[6:46]the commander of the faithful that's why today we ask we answer

[6:51]this question is saying absolutely not it is getting close to allah

[6:58]subhanahu wa is part of istigada it's part of tawasol it's part

[7:01]of what allah wants it is a means to get closer to

[7:06]allah it is the practice of the holy prophet it is reviving

[7:08]the name of the halal bait because individuals like muawiyah like yazid

[7:14]like al hajjaj like saddam like abu bakr al-baghdadi don't want us

[7:20]to mention ali and we will come forward and we will mention

[7:25]more and more and we will say [Music]
