[0:13]my dear brothers and sisters i pray that you all are doing

[0:21]great during the summer break whether those who chose to stay in

[0:26]the united states during the summer break or those who decided to

[0:31]take a vacation just like i did by choosing to visit the

[0:36]shrine of our imam beloved imam ali ibn musa in mashhad iran

[0:43]from where which i am sending this message to all my dear

[0:47]brothers and sisters in the united states of america my dear brothers

[0:52]and sisters this coming tuesday is a very crucial tuesday in the

[0:58]life of our muslim community in the united states it is the

[1:05]primary election in which hundreds of muslims are running for public offices

[1:12]this is very important for the muslim community to be aware of

[1:17]the ramifications and the consequences of their acts their action or inaction

[1:25]during this great day there are tens and probably hundreds of muslims

[1:33]running for public offices such as governors or us senators or the

[1:41]us house of representatives or mayors or many other public offices in

[1:50]different and various states around the united states we must keep in

[1:56]mind that we muslims have one way and one way only to

[2:02]influence the policies of the united states of america and that is

[2:07]by running for offices and by electing those who work for our

[2:13]cause therefore my dear brothers and sisters i urge all muslims in

[2:19]the united states of america whether mus whether shia or sunnis whether

[2:25]indigenous or immigrants whether black or white that they have to make

[2:33]sure that they go and vote in the primary election and make

[2:39]sure that they cast their vote for those candidates whose agenda reconcile

[2:47]with our agenda as muslims as law abiding proud muslims in the

[2:53]united states of america and therefore i believe it is a moral

[2:57]duty as well as our religious duty that we go and vote

[3:05]i know some people may say how much difference my vote can

[3:11]make a difference yes your vote makes a big difference let me

[3:17]tell you this story that i heard from former congressman john conyers

[3:26]who told me once that when he ran for the us congress

[3:30]some fifty years ago he won his seat by 28 votes only

[3:38]so your vote counts and never underestimate your vote and this my

[3:45]dear brothers and sisters how we muslims have been able to elect

[3:50]some judges some local officers at local municipalities such as the head

[3:59]of the municipal councils and other public posts by going out and

[4:09]voting for those who support our cause and therefore my dear brothers

[4:16]and sisters i truly encourage you not to pass up this historic

[4:22]opportunity that if you are still in the united states you make

[4:27]sure on tuesday before doing anything you go to the voting booth

[4:33]and you cast your vote and make sure you cast your votes

[4:37]for those muslim candidates who are trying to promote our causes as

[4:46]law abiding muslims in the united states of america this is great

[4:50]country that opened our doors its doors for us so my dear

[4:56]brothers and sisters let's let me remind you of one more lesson

[5:02]that if you let one candle in the dark better than cursing

[5:10]the dark for 1,000 times let's stop cursing the dark and let

[5:17]light one candle in the dark by sending our muslim representatives to

[5:24]those public offices i wish you all the best may allah bless
