[0:02][Music] Numerous reports and hadiths have indicated that once Imam was delivering

[0:34]the Friday sermon when someone asked him which verse was revealed about

[0:40]you in the holy Quran.

[0:41]Which verse is considered your greatest virtue in the holy Quran?

[0:48]In other words, what is your favorite verse in the Quran that

[0:52]is about you, oh, we know that the Holy Quran is filled

[0:57]with references to Im Ali.

[0:59]Many verses in the Holy Quran were revealed in honor of Ali.

[1:06]But Im Ali on that day was asked to name one verse.

[1:11]What's his favorite verse?

[1:13]You have probably not contemplated this verse.

[1:17]You have probably not come across this verse and its connection to

[1:25]soam he said to the one who asked him he told him

[1:31]have you read he said yes I have.

[1:36]The im quoted then verse 17 of This verse is basically saying

[1:51]there is someone who is has proof from Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala

[1:58]has clear proofs from God and he's dedicated to those clear proofs

[2:06]and this person who has the clear proofs from God he's followed

[2:14]by a witness from his own self.

[2:18]Imam after reciting this verse he commented he says the one who

[2:25]is on the clear proof from Allah is prophet Muhammad sallallahu alaihi

[2:32]and the one who follows him is a witness who comes from

[2:40]him.

[2:39][Music] That person who follows prophet Muhammad sallallahu alaihi is the witness

[2:49]and he's from the prophet and then imam beautifully states I am

[2:55]Ali and I am that witness and I am from the prophet

[3:01]sallallahu alaihi Ali is indeed the witness and he's from the prophet

[3:06]the prophet sallallahu alaihi would say Ali is from for me is

[3:12]for me.

[3:14]He he's an extension of and the Quran does confirm that I

[3:22]al is the ultimate witness who has access to the entire knowledge

[3:25]of the Quran.

[3:25]Many of you are familiar with this verse.

[3:29]Verse 43.

[3:40]The the disbelievers they claim that you've not been sent by Allah

[3:48]they claim that the prophet was not sent by God.

[3:51]So Allah tells the prophet tell them Allah is sufficient as a

[3:56]witness between me and you and who else?

[3:59]And so also the one who knows the full knowledge of the

[4:02]scriptures or the full knowledge of the book in Shia sources and

[4:09]in Sunni sources it is confirmed that this is a reference to

[4:15]you'll see the Sunni exe of the holy Quran in his book

[4:21]he quotes a hadith from Jub he was asked asked about who's

[4:29]the one who has knowledge of the book is Abdullahb as some

[4:34]has claimed he said no that's he said how can it be

[4:41]Abdullahb when this verse was revealed in Mecca and Abdahb converted to

[4:45]Islam later in Medina so no that is not Abdullahb so who

[4:49]is it then that's Imam look at another Sunni book of the

[4:56]author of this book quotes a hadith from Albakam alam he says

[5:06]this is the witness not and you also find he also mentions

[5:15]that the witness is imbal now why is this the favorite verse

[5:22]of Im Ali because it contains the favorite virtue for him.

[5:28]Why?

[5:28]How is he a witness?

[5:31]You see, anytime a person brings a new idea, a new suggestion,

[5:39]a new proposal, it's only an idea.

[5:42]It's only at a theoretical level.

[5:45]How do you prove that your idea works?

[5:49]Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wasall brought Islam and the prophet made very

[5:55]big claims.

[5:55]The prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam brought a lot of ideas and he

[6:01]promised his people that if they would implement those ideas they'd see

[6:05]certain results.

[6:04]But all of this is pretty much theoretical.

[6:07]How did the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasall prove that the ideas and

[6:14]the theories he brought for humanity are implementable are applicable.

[6:19]That was through I'll give you some examples and that's how we

[6:25]come to know how this is a great virtue for imam the

[6:30]Quran and the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam they told people be patient

[6:35]Allahh will give you victory even if your numbers are small who

[6:40]was there on the ground proving this verse to be true and

[6:45]proving the prophet was truthful Look at the battle of the Muslims

[6:53]were outnumbered.

[6:52]They were only 313.

[6:54]On the other side, the pagans were almost a thousand.

[7:00]Im Ali singlehandedly killed more than half of the casualties of the

[7:06]enemies on that day.

[7:06]He showed Muslims that when you sacrifice in the way of God,

[7:12]God will support you.

[7:12]See, the prophet gave the idea to the people.

[7:16]Im Ali Alisam showed the people this idea is true.

[7:20]He proved it on the ground.

[7:23]He proved it.

[7:22]Im Ali Alisam taught us how to sacrifice when he was willing

[7:29]to sleep on on the prophet's bed on the night of migration.

[7:32]He demonstrated to the world how to sacrifice for the prophet.

[7:38]put your life at the front lines when it comes to defending.

[7:45]Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alaihi advocated for ibada and worship and sincerely obeying

[7:51]Allah.

[7:52]Im Ali Alisam demonstrated that beautifully through his acts of worship.

[7:57]In the middle of the night, he would go out in the

[8:02]darkness.

[8:03]He would speak to Allah and he would cry and cry and

[8:05]cry until he would lose his consciousness.

[8:08]He'd fall.

[8:10]He showed people that love of God, that fear of God in

[8:14]a way no one else other than the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam

[8:20]was able to demonstrate it.

[8:22]The prophet taught Muslims, yes, be courageous, be brave, be strong, but

[8:26]also have a gentle heart, take care of the orphans, the widows.

[8:29]Who demonstrated that?

[8:32]Imam Ali did he was alive in the battlefield but when he

[8:34]would see the tears of an orphan he would cry he would

[8:38]take care of the orphans he took care of the widows the

[8:42]prophet sallallahu alaihi taught Muslims when you reach a position of power

[8:47]be just don't transgress who is the one who was able to

[8:51]prove that after the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasall only imam he reached

[8:56]power during those four years of the caliphate and he was just

[8:59]he was hard on himself who's like the Quran teaches us don't

[9:09]waste resources who demonstrated that after the prophet like Ali during the

[9:15]time that he was ruling as a ka Imam took a lot

[9:22]of steps to reduce wastefulness to save resources for instance he wrote

[9:28]a letter to his governors and he told them.

[9:31]I want you when you communicate with me and you write me

[9:35]letters, I want you to sharpen your pens so they take less

[9:40]space and I want you to remove the gaps between the lines.

[9:42]You know, sometimes you leave a big gap between the lines, you

[9:48]use more paper.

[9:47]The im says close the gaps.

[9:49]Subhan Allah.

[9:51]Even to this detail, I im Ali is sensitive.

[9:54]He wants to save.

[9:57]Im Ali demonstrated that.

[9:58]And when it comes to every virtue, Im Ali put it in

[10:01]action.

[10:02]Look at the humbleness of Alisam.

[10:07]One day a man comes to the city of Kufa, a bad

[10:10]one, and he was hungry.

[10:13]He was poor.

[10:13]He comes to Kufa and close to Masjid Kufa or inside Mazjid

[10:18]Kufa, he sees an elderly man.

[10:22]He tells him, "I'm hungry.

[10:24]Can you give me some food to eat?" That man gives him

[10:26]food.

[10:26]He tells him, "Here, it's my food.

[10:28]I'll give it to you." The man realized, "This food is so

[10:34]low in quality, so dry and hard, he can't eat it." So,

[10:40]he took the food.

[10:42]He didn't say anything to that man.

[10:44]But, you know, he thought to himself, "No, no, I can't eat

[10:46]this food.

[10:47]This is too coarse for me to eat." So he asked around

[10:52]in the city of Kufa, "Is there any place that I can

[10:56]go to a generous house that is going to give me some

[10:58]good food, delicious food?" He was told, "Yes, go to the house

[11:03]of Hassan and Hussein." This man goes to the house of Imam

[11:06]Hassan and Hussein.

[11:09]He asks for food.

[11:09]They give him the best food he's had.

[11:12]As he was leaving, he asked for an additional meal.

[11:18]They wanted to see why.

[11:22]Are you not full?

[11:22]Is that why you're taking an additional meal?

[11:25]Why do you want an additional meal?

[11:28]You're still hungry?

[11:30]He said, "No, I'm full right now.

[11:33]I'm not hungry.

[11:34]And I'm not taking this meal for myself.

[11:38]But when I entered the city, I saw an elderly man in

[11:42]Kufa and I asked him for food.

[11:44]He donated to me his own food.

[11:46]But his food, you can't eat it.

[11:47]It's hard.

[11:49]Its course is it's very low quality.

[11:51]I felt bad for that man.

[11:52]Now that I found some good food in your homes, I want

[11:58]to take this additional meal and give it to that man.

[12:01]Imam Hassan and Hussein asked this man, this bed.

[12:05]They told him, "Did you recognize who that man is?" He's like,

[12:07]"No, I've never seen him before." They told him, "That's our father.

[12:15]That's our father and that's the food that he eats.

[12:18]When the prophet says be humble, be altruistic, be hard on yourself

[12:26]but be generous with others.

[12:28]Who who other than was a testament to that?

[12:32]You see how this is the greatest virtue for Ali?

[12:33]The prophet brought the theories and the recommendations but who implemented them

[12:41]that's and hence we say this confidently among the greatest miracles of

[12:52]is to produce a student like and this is what we recite

[13:00]in one of the zas of Im Ali.

[13:02]You know I imam has some special zas.

[13:05]One of those zas is a z that you recite on the

[13:09]27th of which is the day of the which we in the

[13:11]school of b we believe the prophet received revelation for the first

[13:18]time on that day.

[13:20]In this there is a passage that describes in such beautiful terms.

[13:29]The im has the following descriptions.

[13:30]The IM is immune from any wrongdoing.

[13:39]He's infallible.

[13:39]The IM does not commit any mistakes.

[13:42]There's no deficiencies in him.

[13:45]No shortcomings, no deficiencies in the im.

[13:49]The im has no doubts in him.

[13:55]He is the brother of the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam.

[13:59]He is the successor to the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam.

[14:03]He was the one who slept in the bed of the prophet.

[14:08]He's the one who was willing to sacrifice for the prophet.

[14:14]He used to remove the misery and the difficulty from the face

[14:20]of the prophet sallallahu alaihi Ali was the sword of prophethood.

[14:30]Im Ali was the miracle of the message of indeed Im Ali

[14:39]was the greatest miracle of the prophet after the holy Quran and

[14:45]that is one of the greatest virtues that he had.

[14:50]He was that witness who testified to the world that Prophet Muhammad

[14:54]is a prophet and that he's truthful and that he is successful.
