[0:00]foreign [Music] [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] I mean foreign foreign [Music] [Music]
[2:13]yeah as a gift and a small token to the one to
[2:22]whom This Night Belongs in Muhammad [Music] for our sins to be
[2:51]forgiven for our Mal to be accepted for when we call out
[3:00]Allah for Allah for these calls to rise to the heavens along
[3:05]with by the Imam of our time for the hastening of his
[3:12]reappearance recite another loud Muhammad [Music] in yearns for his brothers we
[3:37]mentioned some of them that he specifically cited in his very last
[3:43]sermon only a few days before he was assassinated and martyred at
[3:54]the hands of the wicked Muradi the narrator of the sermon in
[4:01]fact says that the weak did not end except that we saw
[4:09]Amir lying on the ground of Masjid al-kufa those were very turbulent
[4:15]times very difficult phase in the life of news was coming left
[4:24]right and Center that cities were falling and that Maui's armies were
[4:33]marching huawea was known as someone who would not keep his word
[4:35]he broke every single one of his promises to amironmentin and he
[4:42]continued his Conquest and every time they brought news to Emil Momin
[4:47]that a new city or town had fallen the imam's heart would
[4:57]bleed we know that would receive news for instance had ambushed a
[5:03]town and he had threatened the Christian or Jewish women of the
[5:08]town and the Imam would immediately Ascend the pulpit deliver a sermon
[5:14]and say that if someone heard of this and died of Agony
[5:18]and grief I wouldn't blame him because a Christian or a Jewish
[5:27]woman had been intimidated or threatened or they had some of their
[5:32]jewelry taken from them so imagine every time Emily Momin heard that
[5:36]Muslims were being violated that his she hour being hunted down what
[5:41]that did to the Blessed heart of only Allah knows and so
[5:49]the Imam longed for the people who had given their pledge of
[5:56]allegiance to him truthfully the ones that he mentions had vowed to
[6:00]die for him he says where are those people where are the
[6:10]ones who stood up and spoke the truth at the cost of
[6:16]their so-called worldly reputation sometimes we hear the sanctity of the imams
[6:24]is violated they are desecrated they are disrespected but we choose not
[6:33]to speak out in order to maintain what we think of as
[6:40]civility because our reputation to us matters more than the reputation of
[6:45]rasulullah the reputation of the the reputation of Imam Zaman that even
[6:50]though there are liars and imposters and charlatans trying to take away
[6:55]the most precious thing that we have which is our Allegiance and
[7:00]love to the bait to take away the only source of wealth
[7:04]that you and I have brothers and sisters Allah isn't that what
[7:15]he said to the messenger of Usman when uthman sent his slave
[7:20]offering him some money first he interrogated the slave you've all heard
[7:26]the story he said where did this come from he said the
[7:29]Khalifa sent it to you he said which Khalifa as far as
[7:34]I know ofman had no money prior to becoming Khalifa is this
[7:38]his personal money or did he take it from the Muslim Treasury
[7:41]if it's his personal money where did he take it from how
[7:45]did it come into his possession he needs to be audited and
[7:49]if it's from the Muslim treasury am I the only one receiving
[7:53]it or is this something that's being distributed equally among every single
[7:57]citizen every Muslim so the slave said to him listen just take
[8:02]the money I just took a peek inside your home you're a
[8:06]poor man you need this money we all know that your family's
[8:12]starving your children have no food on the table this is it's
[8:18]a statement made by the slave but it was the biggest insult
[8:23]to Abu dhar he said you're calling me a poor man oh
[8:34]God I have the most valuable thing in this entire universe you're
[8:47]calling me poor I'm the richest person there is someone came to
[8:52]our sixth Imam and he could complained about his financial situation and
[8:57]he said to the Imam that I need help I'm poor Imam
[9:02]said to him but you're not poor though are you he said
[9:06]look at me why would I be asking you if I wasn't
[9:09]poor Imam said to him you have something what would you say
[9:15]if you were offered the entire world and the Seven heavens above
[9:21]and everything beneath them in exchange for your love to us would
[9:26]you give that up he said no the Imam said then you're
[9:31]the richest person how could you say you're poor and so when
[9:36]this love is under attack when someone comes along and tries to
[9:40]take it away from you tries to take away your faith and
[9:46]your belief and your Creed that's not the time to be thinking
[9:50]about my reputation that's the time for you to stand up and
[9:53]speak the truth that's all most of us need to do speak
[9:58]the truth that's it the Imam yearns for people like that they
[10:08]say that speaking of Sohan whose name we mentioned in the last
[10:12]Madness when to Basra she wrote to him he was a very
[10:22]notable personality it was very important in his tribe and so she
[10:31]sends him a letter in which she says Bismillah men um so
[10:53]she Praises him she tries to portray him as someone who's close
[10:59]to her heart and we all know how these games go right
[11:04]she said to him from the mother of the Believers to her
[11:11]righteous son zate I wish for you to come and join me
[11:17]in my Conquest in my battle to avenge the blood of the
[11:21]oppressed what do you say Zaid wrote back to her listen to
[11:31]this he said to her you have been commanded by Allah to
[11:36]do one thing and we have been commanded by Allah to do
[11:41]something your obligation is to stay in your home as instructed by
[11:47]Allah you have abandoned your own obligation and you've come to us
[12:02]to try and stop us from a from fulfilling our obligation which
[12:05]is what Allah has commanded us to stand by the holy prophet
[12:12]said foreign the holy prophet commanded you to stay in your home
[12:31]and he commanded us to fight alongside against his enemy not only
[12:37]have you failed to fulfill your own obligation you want us to
[12:41]not fulfill ours she said to him does that mean that people
[12:44]will fight me he said I will be the first to fight
[12:47]you yearned for people like this I'll mention another example yeah sir
[12:57]when Aisha announced that she was going to lead the armies into
[13:05]battle on the back of her camel amironmentin sent his son Imam
[13:10]al-hasan and Amar to kufa remember he was in Medina Mecca and
[13:17]in makkashi announced once she realized who had been sworn in who
[13:23]had been given the Pledge of Allegiance she thought it was going
[13:27]to be or Talha once she realized there was suddenly she raised
[13:32]the flag of the oppression of Ottoman and his shirt and said
[13:37]that we now have to find his killers so a mirror womanin
[13:42]sent his son and Amma to kufa when they went to kufa
[13:46]they went to Massachusetts who was the governor it was Abu musal
[13:50]ashari you know some of the things that he did the role
[13:55]that he played the very destructive actions that he took he was
[14:02]the governor so Imam al-hassan got up and he spoke he addressed
[14:05]the people then Ahmad spoke and addressed the people ashari stood on
[14:13]the pulpit and he said I have heard from rasulullah that if
[14:21]a fitna emerges if there is Discord or confusion then you should
[14:30]stay in your homes and my suggestion to you is to stay
[14:35]in your homes and not do anything Amma got up he said
[14:38]then did the prophet really tell you this he said by Allah
[14:42]the prophet told me this he said to him in that case
[14:46]why don't you go and stay in your home instead of telling
[14:49]the people that they shouldn't side with just be quiet shut up
[14:54]and be quiet go and sit in your home if that's what
[14:57]what the prophet really told you as for me foreign those who
[15:11]break their Pledge of Allegiance the first people to give their pledge
[15:19]that they will fight him and he told us all to stand
[15:23]by Ali and defend him and to fight his oppressors that's what
[15:30]the prophet told us go and sit in your home yearn for
[15:32]people like this people like imagine Nathan was number one Persian he
[15:46]was not an Arab number two he was a slave right someone
[15:53]say some historians they say that the origin story of Nathan was
[15:59]like this went to this person who sold slaves he engaged in
[16:05]slave trade he said to him present your slaves to me so
[16:09]he presented all the slaves the Imam looked in their faces he
[16:14]said no you have somebody else so he said yeah I have
[16:21]a Slave but he's ill and doesn't really serve much of a
[16:23]purpose the Imam said bring him you brought him out it was
[16:29]made them the Imam said how much do you want for this
[16:33]slave the slave trader realized that the Imam was seeking something there
[16:39]was a reason there was a purpose he wanted this slave and
[16:42]not the others who were perhaps stronger and more muscular and more
[16:49]useful so he upped the price if a slave was sold for
[16:54]a hundred Dinars for instance he said I want 200 for him
[16:56]Imam said to His companion he said pay him 200.
[17:01]the slave trader realized that he had something in his possession that
[17:07]was worth a lot he said no no no no the price
[17:09]is 300.
[17:10]the Imam said pay him 300.
[17:12]then he said no no it's 500.
[17:15]the Imam said pay him 500.
[17:16]he kept jacking up the price and the Imam gave him whatever
[17:21]he asked for then he took him and left the Imam said
[17:27]had he continued to increase the price until the day of judgment
[17:30]I would have paid him whatever he wanted because this is Nathan
[17:35]this is someone who would become one of the confidants of someone
[17:40]who never left the sight of Amir which is why the Imam
[17:47]gave him secrets that he had not given anybody else he told
[17:52]him when he would die how he would die the exact moment
[17:57]his soul would depart his body he even told him about other
[18:03]people imagine someone knows when everyone's going to die and how they're
[18:06]going to die how precious would this person be and then whenever
[18:11]he went into the markets upon Allah there were big shops and
[18:16]there were small shops and the Imam would walk past each and
[18:18]every one of them and go all the way to this little
[18:23]table that was set on the ground with nothing but a small
[18:25]shade on top of it and on the table there were some
[18:30]dates and he would sit next to make them and sometimes if
[18:33]Nathan had errands to make things to do he would have to
[18:39]go and you know go about his Daily Business the Imam would
[18:42]sit in his place and he would sell his dates but the
[18:47]time spent with Nathan was time in which he radiated upon the
[18:52]heart of this man with knowledge and wisdom so much so that
[19:00]mathem was often seen going to this palm tree which was dead
[19:06]it didn't give it didn't produce any fruit any dates the top
[19:11]of the palm tree had dried out and it was cut off
[19:15]and yet Nathan would go and water this palm tree they would
[19:22]say why do you do this this is the work of a
[19:23]Madman he would say no one day me and this tree we
[19:29]will have a moment together our picture will travel across the centuries
[19:37]me and this tree were supposed to be friends even our bus
[19:44]one day came to me even a boss someone who's known now
[19:50]if you ask any Sunni Muslim who is the greatest exeget of
[19:53]the Quran of the Quran who will they say Allah when the
[20:03]prophet passed away he was just a child everything even Abbas Learned
[20:06]was from none other than but they gave him a prominent position
[20:13]and he wouldn't even mention he wouldn't quote or cite amironment the
[20:18]things he's learned from the Imam he would simply present them as
[20:22]his own knowledge anyway we're not here trying to analyze IBN Abbas
[20:30]but it is truly sad and tragic that in the collective mind
[20:37]of the Muslim Nation the exeget of the Quran is who is
[20:46]one of the small students in the Elementary classes so even Hamas
[20:55]even though people recognized him and they appreciated him and they elevated
[21:01]him but he knew inside his heart deep down that he didn't
[21:07]have much he says that all night long I traveled with Talib
[21:13]and he spoke to me about none other than Bismillah in fact
[21:16]is telling him that don't think you have much whatever you have
[21:20]is from us don't think you have much in fact I have
[21:23]not elucidated any thing other than the dot underneath the bar of
[21:30]Bismillah to you Imam is trying to deliver a message to him
[21:34]and so he knew whenever he came across one of the true
[21:40]ariadite Defenders the Guardians of the truth he knew that their status
[21:49]was above and beyond anything that he had once began to elaborate
[21:55]on a verse from the Quran immediately took a pen and paper
[22:02]and started to write the only time you would pick up a
[22:07]pen and paper to write is when you know that you're receiving
[22:09]something valuable something precious if it's something you've heard elsewhere you wouldn't
[22:15]really care he started writing so then made them a Tamar told
[22:22]him by the way I'm going to be crucified on that tree
[22:25]over there even I'll bust threw the papers down and he started
[22:29]to shred them he said that means you're not a scholar you're
[22:34]just a fortune teller you're telling me that you're going to be
[22:37]crucified on that tree what are you talking about you're a fortune
[22:40]teller you're nothing but a guru Make them set them just wait
[22:45]wait don't Shred the papers if you see me crucified on that
[22:51]tree then keep what you've written if I was not crucified on
[22:56]that tree and died in some other way then you can take
[22:58]them and shred them whichever way you want just wait just make
[23:03]them to mock one night maitham says that I saw a million
[23:14]in the middle of the night I said to him where are
[23:20]you going he said I want to go out of kufa he
[23:25]said can I come with you the mom said yes you can
[23:29]so he narrates the story in great detail he says that we
[23:36]left and went to a message it outside of kufa the Imam
[23:41]stood there he prayed four units then he recited this Dua then
[23:46]he recited that Dua then he did sajdah like this and he
[23:49]narrates the exact things that emiral Momin said and did when they
[23:54]finished the Imam said to him I want to go into the
[24:01]desert pitch black darkness can I join you he cared about the
[24:07]Imam he knew the Imam had assassins and enemies and people who
[24:10]wanted him dead so he says I said to the Imam would
[24:15]you give me permission to come with you the Imam said yes
[24:16]so we went to this very desolate dark patch in the middle
[24:22]of the night desert then the Imam with his index finger drew
[24:29]a line in the sand and said to me yamatham do not
[24:36]cross this line whatever you say the Imam then went he went
[24:44]Nathan says the imam's absence took longer than I expected perhaps it
[24:51]was half an hour an hour after which I said to myself
[24:56]Nathan says Waylon FC what are you doing your master your Imam
[25:00]he's in danger he's gone you don't know if he's safe or
[25:05]not what if something happens to him go and find out so
[25:10]he was torn between obeying the imam's command or trying to protect
[25:18]him should he be in need of protection so he says I
[25:21]went after the Imam and that's when I saw Amir he had
[25:26]stuck his body inside a well all the way down to his
[25:32]hips the Imam was speaking to the well and what's even more
[25:45]mesmerizing is that the well was speaking back to him as soon
[25:50]as I saw that knew that I was there so he came
[25:58]out of the well he looked at me and he said to
[26:04]him didn't I command you not to cross that line he said
[26:08]but I couldn't help it I would have blamed myself if anything
[26:12]happened to you I had to come so the Imam said to
[26:19]him yeah did you hear what I said in the well any
[26:22]of the things that happened in the conversation he said I didn't
[26:29]hear it then the Imam said to him he said yeah Nathan
[26:34]my chest is under so much pressure I feel this heaviness on
[26:43]my heart there are things that I want to speak of but
[26:46]I can't and every time I feel this way I come outside
[26:50]into the desert to speak inside a well foreign that you were
[27:02]so lonely you had to come and vent your grievances to the
[27:06]well and the water and the well brothers and sisters tonight is
[27:13]not a night for me to blabber and talk for too long
[27:20]it's a night that's special for two extremely significant reasons number one
[27:27]The Descent of the Holy Quran the book of Allah and number
[27:36]three is the ascent of the speaking Quran so this convergence of
[27:47]events makes this night absolutely critical and life-altering it's life-altering because number
[27:58]one Allah has invited us to repent and to seek forgiveness and
[28:05]Redemption he's opened the gates to his Mercy and he's given us
[28:10]the chance to speak to him and to beg and plead and
[28:17]ask him to take yet another look at the sinful slave of
[28:23]his but Allah's Mercy is so great that he is also made
[28:33]these two occurrences coincide so that we could use the name of
[28:41]Allah to ask Allah for his forgiveness and so in other words
[28:45]the way we speak to Allah is oh Allah don't look at
[28:50]me look at the one that I love and follow I ask
[28:53]you in his name they say that once there was a person
[29:00]who committed a crime in the time of rasulullah and the prophet
[29:04]said that this person should be killed if you can arrest him
[29:09]and bring him to me so be it I will have him
[29:16]executed the prophet didn't kill people randomly or For No Good Reason
[29:21]imagine the crime he must have committed must have been grave if
[29:25]he can be arrested then we'll have him executed if not kill
[29:31]him wherever you find him this man was absolutely desperate what did
[29:36]he do in the middle of the night he went to the
[29:39]house of Emir in the morning he said to him I was
[29:45]friends with your father and so I want you to intercede for
[29:50]me I want you to speak to our soul Allah to forgive
[29:52]me to absolve me of my crime and so it was almost
[29:58]Fajr time took this man he went into the Masjid as soon
[30:02]as he entered the prophet knew what was happening holding this man's
[30:09]hand because he happened to love Abu Talib as soon as the
[30:14]prophet saw that he said I have forgiven him for your sake
[30:22]and so on A Night Like This really what do we do
[30:28]what do we do what recourse do we have How can I
[30:32]and with what excuse can I turn to Allah even if I
[30:40]want to mention really the famous prophetic Hadith says Ali is the
[30:48]scale by which our actions are weighed and evaluated Ali honestly if
[30:55]the standard is then we might as well just pack up an
[30:59]abandon religion altogether how can my actions be compared to Imperial moment
[31:07]how what do we do it's tough brothers and sisters which is
[31:12]why it's so important that tonight when we attend these majalis and
[31:15]these gatherings where we find all of these many to supplicate together
[31:22]that we don't feel that we've achieved anything what I pray to
[31:27]Allah for an hour or two or three in now I think
[31:31]that my cup has been filled that all my wishes have been
[31:37]granted because I prayed for a couple of years a couple of
[31:39]hours throughout the year we do nothing I am speaking about myself
[31:42]all of a sudden tonight I allocate a few hours and the
[31:47]company of these and I think that I've achieved something notice one
[31:52]thing about Dua Josh ocean you mentioned a thousand and one names
[32:02]of Allah right beautiful names that honor and glorify the creator of
[32:09]the universe and yet after every 10 verses in that Dua what
[32:15]do you say Allah what does subhanak mean you're exalted from this
[32:30]exalted from what did I God forbid insult Allah did I say
[32:37]something that was inappropriate or wrong so why do we keep saying
[32:45]subhanak where in the Quran do we say subhanak ad Allah Allah
[32:50]says the Christians say that Allah has a son subhanah Allah has
[32:57]exalted from this when somebody says something that is insulting or derogatory
[33:06]or somehow brings down the station and rank of the creator of
[33:10]the universe that's when we say subhanik so why is it that
[33:16]when we say yeah all these beautiful honor honorific titles of Allah
[33:26]that we read in Dua Joshua why do we have to say
[33:30]subhanak afterwards the reason is this imagine I'll give you an example
[33:37]to illustrate imagine if a child a school boy was trying to
[33:42]describe someone with a PhD and cosmology because this school boy is
[33:53]so limited in his capacity and comprehension he might describe this preeminent
[34:00]Scientist by saying that you know the books we study at school
[34:07]in third grade he studied all of them is that not an
[34:11]insult of course he studied all of them of course he knows
[34:14]all these things of course all of these titles of Allah are
[34:17]true the problem is when I speak them because I don't know
[34:23]who I'm talking about I have to then end by saying you're
[34:28]exalted from this because I don't know Allah notice what Imam says
[34:36]I want to read the actual portion the Imam says oh Allah
[34:48]had it not been obligatory for me to obey your command and
[34:55]speaking about you and honoring you and exalting you and doing Victor
[35:03]of Allah I would have exalted you from my mention and my
[35:13]remembrance who am I to speak about Allah because it's not something
[35:22]that has the capacity to speak about you I don't have the
[35:28]capacity it's an insult for me to even mention the name of
[35:31]Allah who am I to be a vehicle for the exaltation and
[35:42]honoring of Allah one of your greatest blessings and gifts and honors
[35:55]from me is that you have allowed me to remember your name
[36:00]you've allowed me to mention your exalted name you've allowed us tonight
[36:07]to come together and recite and the other duas one of your
[36:16]greatest blessings is this foreign now that you have given us this
[36:43]blessing to address you and to speak directly to you then Inspire
[36:47]us to constantly remember you and so back to the point I
[36:56]was speaking of earlier we're trying to get near Allah subhanahu wa
[37:02]ta'ala but the fact of the matter is I look at my
[37:05]deeds and I see nothing but insults I see nothing but desecrations
[37:11]of the name of Allah I have nothing to offer nothing and
[37:17]then you look at the beta oh we spent four hours on
[37:24]the night of Qatar we prayed I'm sure it's all been wiped
[37:30]clean all of my sins all of my transgressions we did this
[37:32]Amal and that Amal we call them Amal and yet look at
[37:40]lady zainab when she places her hand beneath the body of ABBA
[37:43]Abdullah she says oh Allah accept this little offering from Al Muhammad
[37:53]because zainab knows Allah zainab knows How Majestic the creator of the
[37:59]universe is and so the torn body of above Hussain is a
[38:07]little offering in the way of Allah you look at the imams
[38:13]of the the descriptions of their prayers and their supplications is truly
[38:21]mind-boggling would scream and cry and then fall down unconscious and become
[38:27]so stiff he looked like a chunk of wood they would go
[38:32]back to Fatima to Sahara just died Fatima would say no this
[38:42]is praise to Allah every single night until he loses consciousness Imam
[38:50]Assad's face would turn pale and white when he's about to wrap
[38:58]the Haram they say to him what is wrong he would say
[39:01]I'm afraid that when I say Allah would say no you're not
[39:09]welcome you're not answering my call is as if as if they
[39:20]were the biggest Sinners even though they had not committed a single
[39:24]sin of hell was as if he was the only person who
[39:31]was going to be thrown in hell as if of course at
[39:36]the same time he had hope that if everyone ended up in
[39:40]the fires of hell that he would go to paradise that hope
[39:47]that we don't have that fear and if I'm going to follow
[39:54]in the footsteps then I should be truly terrified if Ali is
[39:58]terrified of the fires of hell am I more Brave than Ali
[40:03]Ali is afraid he says I wouldn't take away a grain from
[40:08]an ant Allah I wouldn't even oppress an ant in exchange for
[40:26]everything in the heavens some of us seem to be more Brave
[40:32]than Ali because Ali is afraid of the fires of hell but
[40:35]we're not there's something wrong here and so what do we do
[40:41]we're looking for a solution this is how desperate I am this
[40:46]is how incapacitated I am this I have to understand which is
[40:55]why when we come to these majalis you consider yourself to be
[40:58]the poorest of the poor you don't think you've done anything in
[41:03]God's favor anything poverty has to be exhibited holistically in me but
[41:11]let's say I reach that State of Mind how do we get
[41:18]out of this Quagmire what do we do the answer lies I
[41:24]want to read you this quick Dua inshallah I won't take too
[41:27]much of your time but it's the night of Dua and prayer
[41:31]someone sends or comes to Imam and he says to him give
[41:40]me a Dua teach me it for the most difficult times look
[41:46]at how the Imam teaches him to speak to Allah subhanahu wa
[41:52]ta'ala again you'll find the key to our Salvation in this Dua
[41:55]he says oh Allah my sins and the sheer volume of my
[42:08]transgressions have made my fur my face dirty in your eyes and
[42:18]they've prevented me from deserving your mercy um he says oh Allah
[42:48]had it not been for the fact that you have warned us
[42:52]against hopelessness and despair I would have reached hopelessness and despair when
[42:57]I look at myself I look at my actions I look at
[43:02]my sins I can forget about ever receiving your mercy but you
[43:06]have told us that you should never give up and you have
[43:10]said these things and you've warned those who have despair foreign only
[43:22]those who are truly deviant will have despair from the mercy of
[43:30]Allah oh Allah then you invited us you called on to us
[43:35]and you said call on to me pray to me ask me
[43:41]and you said you said that those who are too arrogant and
[43:53]proud to pray to me to worship me they will end up
[43:58]in the fires of hell is I am in complete despair but
[44:15]because you have given you have promised the ones who have one
[44:23]who think that you are capable of giving us only that is
[44:27]in our interest and that is good because you have done that
[44:38]until the Imam says oh Allah what gives me hope is this
[44:52]you have said in your book and your word cannot change the
[45:02]day of judgment is the day we will call we will call
[45:06]on to every group with their leader with their master Cafe no
[45:12][Music] since that is the case that I will be called on
[45:27]the day of judgment with my Imam then oh Allah I confess
[45:33]and I acknowledge in secret and in public that what that is
[46:01]oh Allah not only is he my Imam and my master and
[46:22]my beloved leader but I also know that I cannot trust my
[46:27]actions and my Deeds except if I have his willia in my
[46:35]heart except if I follow him and I acknowledge all of his
[46:42]virtues I accept those who transmit his virtues and his merits he
[46:58]if you're going to reject all of my Deeds then you can't
[47:03]reject the fact that I love Aliyah that is true and you
[47:09]know it to be true and I follow his children they represent
[47:25]my way to Allah my religion is embodied by them and I
[47:32]believe in them then the Imam says and I'm skipping through some
[47:38]of the lines here he says oh Allah on the day of
[47:47]judgment when you call on to me have me as one of
[47:52]the people who flock towards them let them be my imams and
[47:56]my leaders is in the Imam then goes on to do tawasul
[48:13]to be him self and the hidden the hidden proof of Allah
[48:33]who is from their lineage I believe in them and I ask
[48:38]for their intercession and in their wasila the Imam then continues to
[48:45]stress on this point that even though I have nothing to show
[48:49]one thing I do have is the love maybe not the allegiance
[48:54]maybe I am not a Shia but I am of the Imam
[49:01]of the time maybe the love that I have towards the Imam
[49:05]of the time will be reflected back from the Imam towards me
[49:11]someone says someone wrote a letter to Imam al-jawad and the Imam
[49:16]wrote back to him there was an entire book that was recently
[49:19]published called beautiful collection all of the letters to various people so
[49:27]the Imam writes back to this person he says to him you
[49:32]have asked me to pray for you but when did I ever
[49:39]stop praying for you the Imam then said to him that I
[49:43]love you and I always think about you you've asked me for
[49:50]permission to use a portion of the I grant you all of
[49:56]them and you get you can do whatever you wish with them
[49:58]then the Imam says to him I love you and I pray
[50:03]that Allah raises you with us on the day of judgment may
[50:08]you be raised with us I constantly think about you imagine if
[50:15]the Imam of the time said this on a night like this
[50:19]do I deserve it absolutely not but is he such a noble
[50:28]master that even when his insubordinate sinful criminal slave turns to him
[50:36]with a little sincerity and calls on his name and asks him
[50:43]to intercede for him the Imam is too good to turn his
[50:47]face away a man by the name of ashakrani lived in the
[50:53]time of Imam al-kavan the Hadith says that one day the Khalifa
[50:58]had given some money and distributed money to the people as shakrani
[51:01]also wanted a little bit of this money but no one knew
[51:08]him he was a shihad meaning somehow he had the love of
[51:10]the Arabia the love of the Imam of his time in his
[51:14]heart even though he was sinful truly sinful he committed a grave
[51:18]sin a kabira which was that he drank alcohol so Hadith says
[51:28]that as he was walking he came across Imam al-kalda the Imam
[51:33]came up to him the Imam whispered something in his ear he
[51:39]took the money he gave it to him he poured it from
[51:43]his slave sleeve into his sleeve then the Imam said to him
[51:48]foreign when someone carries out a good deed no matter who does
[51:56]it a good deed is a good deed it's if it's the
[52:00]worst of the worst a good deed is still good maybe the
[52:05]person who does it is bad but from you it's even better
[52:11]because of your position with regards to us because of your connection
[52:19]to us because after all people know you as a Shia and
[52:23]so if you do something good it's even better when you do
[52:31]when someone does something evil it doesn't matter who does it evil
[52:38]is evil but when you do it it's even worse because people
[52:41]will say that Shia did such and such did you hear what
[52:45]he did or what this community did or how this group of
[52:50]the followers and lovers of the got into a fight amongst themselves
[52:54]and they had to go and appeal to the court system did
[52:57]you hear what happened what a shame what a shame the evil
[53:05]that you commit is way worse now our excuse to Allah if
[53:13]he says to us why were you like this is number one
[53:18]yeah Overlook What I've Done forgive me and number two are excuses
[53:33]this and they've taught us to say this they have said that
[53:38]when the holy month of Ramadan begins recite and in the latter
[53:46]portion what do we say we say who said this the first
[53:55]person to say it was before the battle of Jamal began he
[54:03]said in other words oh Allah if our Imam was with us
[54:12]maybe I would have been a better person if I could see
[54:13]the Imam pray if I could see the Imam perform do I
[54:18]if I could see the Imam go to Hajj if I could
[54:22]see the Imam in front of me I might have been a
[54:24]better person you know it's an excuse maybe Allah will accept it
[54:44]from us maybe he will accept it my apologies for taking so
[54:53]much of your time I wish to take you to kufa now
[54:56]it's a very difficult night when the Muslim ummah became a teens
[55:04]Ma and so when Emily departed from this world we all became
[55:13]orphans I don't know if I can address the Imam of the
[55:20]time like this I do apologize forgive me but remember what a
[55:28]mural mohammadin said in his wasayya Allah Allah he said I ask
[55:33]you in the name of Allah to look after the orphans we
[55:39]are your orphans look after us tonight pray for us ask Allah
[55:45]to forgive us such a difficult night one of the recommended acts
[55:57]on the night of the 19th was what Allah why because was
[56:03]only the puppet marionette the strings were held by other people who
[56:10]was a Sunni historian he has a book called Ashraf in that
[56:17]book he mentions he says in his time as the Khalifa wrote
[56:28]to amribnell house was very special to the holafa he was often
[56:32]the person they would appoint to carry out the most critical tasks
[56:36]even ensure a sitter the committee of the sixth that were formed
[56:40]by Omar was tasked to supervise this committee and ensure that no
[56:48]one gets elected other than withman and so Omar writes the address
[56:55]is I wish for you to buy a house as a gift
[57:08]and give it to Abdullah and bring make sure the house is
[57:17]close to the Masjid and make sure it's a big house make
[57:22]him comfortable The Killers of Emil mohammadin it wasn't just and people
[57:31]like that it was a concerted orchestrated effort that had been set
[57:38]into motion years before and so imagine how difficult it must have
[57:53]been in these last few days he was surrounded by members of
[58:04]his family some companions when suddenly the Imam looked up and said
[58:08]welcome welcome who are you saying that to he said [Music] veiled
[58:25]her face before she died so that Ali wouldn't see the marks
[58:32]on her face now finally I get to see my beloved father
[58:36]I get to see her soon Allah [Applause] imagine having this conversation
[58:48]it was so hard every time I went into the alleyway where
[58:55]you were slapped it was so difficult every time I confronted is
[59:05]sitting with some of his companions the Muslims had become angry with
[59:13]the way Omar was running the government he was acting with favoritism
[59:17]helping his friends and distancing others and so Muslims became agitated in
[59:23]order to quell The Descent said all of his Governors have to
[59:28]present all of their wealth and say how much money they have
[59:33]and how much money they've been they've raised so that it would
[59:37]all be transparent but he gave certain exceptions some of his Governors
[59:42]were exempt from providing their income to the Khalifa and so someone
[59:48]says that I went to amirul momini was sitting in the Masjid
[59:53]surrounded by Salman by Amar by some of his companions he went
[59:57]and he said to the Imam did you hear what Omar did
[60:02]he said that all the governors have to transparently show their income
[60:06]but he gave exceptions to some of those governors and one of
[60:12]them was Al confused the Imam then looked to the right and
[60:17]the left in other words to be careful what he says he
[60:24]looked to the right and the left and then he said do
[60:28]you know why he Exempted him he wants to show appreciation and
[60:42]thank him for when he beat father with his whip that left
[60:45]the mark on the arm of father that's why he gave him
[60:54]that's why he Exempted him now imagine you're more meaning after this
[61:00]whole time is about to meet his beloved wife Fatima once again
[61:08]it's only Imam is on the one hand delighted the Imam is
[61:10]happy he said to one of his companions I'm going to Paradise
[61:17]to meet rasulullah and jaffar and my family members and Hamza but
[61:22]on the other hand when he saw his son Imam Al Hussain
[61:28]crying more than others the Imam also cried foreign [Music] [Applause] [Music]
[62:00]I can almost see the dagger on your throat foreign [Applause] this
[62:20]wasn't cool if I remember the Imam said can he be key
[62:26]when he saw it as for you I can almost see the
[62:32]day when you and other women in your family [Applause] you will
[62:38]be paraded like slaves in these same streets and Alleyways Hussain zainab
[62:50]is the one who narrates the story his boy came and asked
[62:58]him for permission to leave she says that with every stook step
[63:03]that Akbar took away from his father I could see the Imam
[63:09]trembling and shame after a while he heard the cry Abba alaikum
[63:17]father unlike every other companion who said Ricky come and save me
[63:24]didn't want to torture he said father salaam be upon you rasulullah
[63:38]Allah remember when I told you I was thirsty don't worry about
[63:47]me anymore [Applause] he says we have a cup waiting for you
[64:00]as well rushed to his son foreign laughs foreign [Music]
