[0:04]so we are in our second course on or second session on
[0:11]the Course De debunking misconceptions on Shia Islam in the first session
[0:17]last week we talked about the misconceptions and how it's very normal
[0:23]to have misconceptions and sometimes people confuse they get confused and we
[0:32]talked about the methodology of dealing with a M misconception how you
[0:36]have to always pursue the truth how there should be no bias
[0:40]how you should start from um no bias start without any picking
[0:46]sides and then try to see what takes you to the H
[0:50]what takes you to the truth and then we talked about some
[0:56]of the um one of the misconceptions that where did shm come
[1:01]from and we discuss the origins of sh and how sh began
[1:06]with Islam and with as the first originator of shm so shm
[1:15]is following the okay so this brings us to another issue that
[1:19]we want to address today who are the what is the status
[1:25]of the bit and how do I know who the bit are
[1:30]because this is a issue that's in question maybe someone will might
[1:32]tell me the for example the wives of the Prophet are the
[1:35]someone might tell me IM Ali is not a part of the
[1:39]who are the do we have spec and what is the specific
[1:45]meaning of the B so our uh in previous session we pointed
[1:49]out the many misconceptions against sh we laid down the foundations of
[1:54]how to deal with misconceptions and we discussed the origins of shiaism
[2:02]now who are the bit and what is the status of the
[2:04]bit today you see some people they come and they say no
[2:09]the bit are normal people why why make such a big deal
[2:11]they they and the the and the and the sahaba are at
[2:17]the same level why do we make such a big deal about
[2:19]the and you know raise them above their status some of the
[2:26]sh they do some of the sh they elevate the above the
[2:31]where God has put them above where they're supposed to be they're
[2:34]just like all the other Muslims now this is an argument this
[2:37]is a misconception are there m are there people that truly do
[2:43]yes there are but is mainstream the way that we are talking
[2:46]about is that no even though some might come and say the
[2:51]love of the or visiting the graves of the is a type
[2:52]of but we will explain how the status of the is a
[2:59]god-given status it's not something that we are elevating them above where
[3:04]they're supposed to be and you look at verses in the Quran
[3:09]and you look at the Hadith of the prophet and you will
[3:12]see the status of theit so and we will see that not
[3:18]only we will see their High lofty status but we will also
[3:21]see that loving them and obedience to theit is an obligation and
[3:25]a religious Duty so it's not just oh we are loving theit
[3:30]because we want extra credit points for example we're just doing it
[3:35]because we we are emotional no we have to love the where
[3:39]do we get the with this Del where do we get this
[3:44]proof we see it in the Quran one proof is the verse
[3:46]of Purity which is what is referred to as chapter 33 verse
[3:55]33 the verse of purity and we will we will explain who
[4:08]is intended in this verse does it mean who are those people
[4:11]that are purified by Allah subhana wa tala in the Quran we'll
[4:13]explain that inshallah another verse is the verse of ma in Surah
[4:21]42 verse 23 say oh Prophet tell the Muslims I don't ask
[4:31]for any reward I don't want anything from you except to the
[4:36]family to the who are the who are the that is the
[4:42]that is the family of the Prophet what does ma mean ma
[4:45]means loving and obedience loving and following another verse in the Quran
[4:51]is the verse of mual the verse of mu and that is
[4:59]Surah Al Iman Surah 3 verse 61 where Allah sub says in
[5:02]the Quran so we ask someone says who are the okay the
[5:20]verse of mu comes and tells the Muslims who the family of
[5:26]the Prophet are our woman and your woman who did the prophet
[5:29]bring in the event out of the woman who did he bring
[5:37]out of the woman who was the one lady only did he
[5:42]bring his wives with him no okay who did he Bringin he
[5:52]brought so we we understand from this verse that when the when
[5:58]the Quran is talking about the specific family of the Prophet this
[6:01]is the family of the Prophet the ones who the prophet brought
[6:04]out with him so in another verse Allah subhana says in the
[6:13]Quan Allah subh inah H verse 73 Allah subhana is giving the
[6:20]and the blessings upon the so now we also see just like
[6:29]we see proofs of uh discussion on the on the lofty status
[6:32]of the in the Quran we also see it in theith for
[6:39]example one famous Hadith which is narrated in multiple multiple ways multiple
[6:46]sources through Sunni is what is referred to as the two weighty
[6:51]things meaning means weight the two weighty things where the prophet he
[7:00]says and this is this is the version that is inah Muslim
[7:03]so I'm not reading other ones we will inshallah later on lead
[7:09]the other ones towards the end to explain um more about it
[7:13]but this is mentioned in sah Muslim and sah Muslim is probably
[7:18]the second or equal bukari and Muslim they're either equal to another
[7:23]orah Muslim comes right after it uh right after bukari according to
[7:29]the Sunni books according to to the Sunni traditions and what does
[7:32]the Hadith say say so is telling his people I'm a human
[7:45]being I'm going to die the caller the messenger from my Lord
[7:51]is going to come and I'm going to answer what is this
[7:53]messenger going to come what ises that what is the prophet referring
[7:59]to what does that mean that means I'm going to die the
[8:05]prophet is saying my time of death is coming near I'm going
[8:11]to die so then and I am leaving behind amongst you the
[8:18]the two weighty things you put them on a scale they have
[8:22]to be equal to one another so the first he says the
[8:34]first thing that I'm leaving behind is the book of Allah and
[8:36]here is one later on we will address this today they come
[8:42]and they say when the prophet died who finished the Quran and
[8:46]who wrote the Quran they sayman finished the Quran and he put
[8:49]the Quran together if did that then that means they're saying the
[8:52]prophet did not finish the Quran the prophet he left it up
[8:56]to the Muslims to finish the Quran the Shia view says no
[8:57]the prophet finished the Quran how how could the prophet his greatest
[9:02]Legacy he leaves for the Muslims you guys put the Quran together
[9:04]no we believe that the Quran has been preserved has been protected
[9:08]and the prophet he himself had a role in preserving the Quran
[9:13]later on during the time ofman he standardized the Quran there were
[9:17]several different variations he came and he made it all one um
[9:37]then he tells them after he talks about the Quran then he
[9:41]tells them and my I keep reminding you of my and then
[9:48]he said this three times I remind you of my I remind
[9:53]you of my I remind you of my this is Muslim today
[9:57]unfortunately we see that many of the many of the Sunni school
[10:03]of thought not all of them of course many of them when
[10:05]they talk about when they talk about this Hadith what do they
[10:10]say they say this is making some sound the version of is
[10:24]in a less accepted version even according to Sunni standards it's not
[10:29]not a very popular Hadith it's found in one of the Sunan
[10:33]one of the one of the books of Hadith which is not
[10:38]very popular this one is in Muslim he says the Quran and
[10:41]the but you see often times people they ignore that which they
[10:45]usually refer to that which they usually go to earlier Muslim it's
[10:51]considered a more authentic book but because it mentions the some refuse
[10:56]to mention this Hadith and and promote this Hadith and you see
[11:00]the Hadith that is promoted is the book of Allah and my
[11:05]Sunnah and my tradition so here this is one Hadith we were
[11:10]talking about another my the analogy of my the prophet saying is
[11:22]like the Ark of Noah whoever gets on the ark will be
[11:27]saved whoever does not ride the ark what's going to happen to
[11:30]them they're going to drown just like the people of no his
[11:33]son he tells him I'm going to go to a mountain that's
[11:36]going to protect me he tells him there's nothing that's going to
[11:39]protect you today you have to ride the ark is trying to
[11:45]say you have to ride the ark and there are many other
[11:51]Hadith and of course sunnis and Shia today will all come and
[11:53]tell you we love theit you won't find a person that says
[11:58]I have a problem with theit whoever has a problem with the
[12:01]bit then this person their e and their Islam there's a problem
[12:06]with it everyone will tell you I love theit and in fact
[12:11]in our prayers in our prayers we sayat and to andat upon
[12:18]the prophet and the and even Sunni Muslims in the in the
[12:22]they say you have to send salawat upon the family of the
[12:32]Prophet for your Salah to be accepted this is unanimous agreement so
[12:37]now we know the status of the but who are the what
[12:43]is our definition of theit when I tell someone your family what
[12:48]do you understand linguistically what your family is my the wife the
[12:54]husband the children these are the members of the family these are
[12:58]the family so what are the views on the bit today some
[13:04]people will come and tell you they are the wives of the
[13:06]Prophet I was speaking to someone I told him who are the
[13:11]he says obviously the are the wives of the Prophet I told
[13:16]him what about Z IM Hassan IM Hussein he says those are
[13:20]secondary first someone's are your wives told him okay that's your understanding
[13:23]another view comes comes and says the family of the prophets meaning
[13:28]fat zah IM Hassan IM Hussein IM Ali plus the wives of
[13:33]the Prophet that whole you you you have a bigger circle now
[13:36]the wives of the and then you have another opinion which is
[13:42]the sh opinion that there the meaning of it's not just the
[13:50]linguistic meaning it's not it doesn't just mean family if we were
[13:53]to say family yes it would include the wives of the prophet
[13:58]and it would include the relatives of would be from the ab
[14:03]who cursed in the Quran he's from the family of the Prophet
[14:06]all of B Hashim they are from the family of the Prophet
[14:10]the whole clan of qur would consider themselves in a way the
[14:13]family of the Prophet so where do you draw the line here
[14:18]when you're talking with the with custom family could be interpreted in
[14:22]many ways sometimes it's the nuclear family sometimes it goes a little
[14:27]bit bigger you have extended cousins other family members those are all
[14:32]family however what what we have to see what does the Quran
[14:35]mean when the Quran says theit what does the prophet mean when
[14:40]he says theit not what I understand because maybe the Quran means
[14:43]something and I'm understanding it something else I have to know what
[14:47]is the message of the Quran imagine I'm telling you bring me
[14:51]something you're understanding it as something else but the important thing is
[14:57]we have to understand what Allah wants from us who care maybe
[15:01]different people could interpret something in a different way but it we
[15:05]have to see what does Allah intent from this when Allah says
[15:09]the so here you see there are some sometimes language linguistically there
[15:18]is a meaning to a word but the meaning the religion Islam
[15:23]and the Quran and gives it a different meaning for example according
[15:30]to the Arabic language what does Salah mean is Salah the the
[15:37]prayer that we pray five times a day according to the Arabic
[15:41]language yes meaning you're connecting and it means Dua calling upon God
[15:52]so Salah actually means Dua so you could you could be slay
[15:58]you could be laying down and you do Salah you could be
[16:00]running and you do Salah anytime you connect with God anytime you're
[16:06]speaking to God there's a Salah there's a connection with God so
[16:09]what does that mean that means you've prayed however according to the
[16:14]Quran when Allah subhana tala says you have to pray when the
[16:22]prophet says you Muslims have to pray five times a day you
[16:26]have to do Salah five times a day what is intended is
[16:29]it just that Salah or is it something specific what is it
[16:34]it's the five daily prayers that we pray that is what is
[16:36]intended so here what do we understand we understand that the we
[16:46]understand that the remove this we understand that the that the the
[16:51]Quran and the Hadith of the Prophet they clarify what is what
[16:58]is intended by a word in the Quran even if it might
[17:00]have a different linguistic meaning even if it has a different language
[17:05]different meaning in the language or some somewhat uh variance in the
[17:09]language but the the prophet he's the one who defines the prophet
[17:15]he's the MU of the Quran the prophet he's the one who
[17:16]explains that a verse comes into the Quran I have to understand
[17:21]it the way the prophet understood it so here what is the
[17:25]intended meaning of is it the way I understand today you come
[17:29]and you tell someone what family they say family means your wife
[17:32]your kids your grandparents your your cousins your uncles that is your
[17:36]family is that the meaning that we have to go after or
[17:39]do we have to go after the meaning that the Quran wants
[17:41]to send and the Quran the meaning that the prophet wants to
[17:46]tell us obviously we go to what the prophet wants to tell
[17:50]us so now what are the the what is the meaning of
[17:56]the here we understand that when we say it doesn't just mean
[18:01]the the people of the House of the Prophet because there could
[18:04]be many people in the house of the Prophet there could be
[18:08]servants in the house there could be wives in the house there
[18:10]could be other children in the house there could be guests in
[18:14]the house there could be pets in the house so many things
[18:15]are in the house can you do you just consider anything in
[18:20]the house of the Prophet as no so here we have to
[18:25]go and look at the proof from the Hadith from the Quran
[18:28]to see who is intended from because we explained earlier the have
[18:32]a lofty status this is agreed upon by sunnis and Sh so
[18:36]now who are the that I have to show my to that
[18:39]I have to show love to that I have to follow that
[18:44]are purified in the Quran oneith Muslim as well so we mentioned
[18:49]the from Muslim and now we're mentioning this Hadith from Muslim he
[18:56]says so the he's saying the prophet he had a type of
[19:18]cloak a blanket a type of cover then IM Hassan came and
[19:23]he came under it then IM Hussein came and he came under
[19:25]it and then fat zah came and she came IMI and then
[19:31]and then Muslim he says then the prophet he says then the
[19:42]prophet he came and he said this verse the verse of verse
[19:47]33 verily God remove is purifying the and removing all filth and
[19:55]evil from the so this is what do we refer to this
[19:57]Hadith Hadith is the the story of the cloak when the prophet
[20:04]had the cloak and he and he puts um the family IM
[20:10]Ali imass IM Hussein and and the prophet himself they are under
[20:14]the K and those are the that specific meaning of the bit
[20:21]so what does what is this specific meaning here the there's several
[20:29]meanings as we said one could mean the family of the Prophet
[20:31]one could mean Beni Hashim now Beni Hashim they are the but
[20:37]in this meaning it's talking about who has been chosen by God
[20:40]to be the ruler and leader after the prophet and someone who
[20:44]you could who is a legitimate has legitimate authority to interpret religion
[20:51]and explain religion after alai wasam so now someone might come and
[20:56]say why aren't the wives of the prophet in the there is
[21:01]aith where did this event take place in the which house no
[21:09]it took place according to narrations in the house of um sal
[21:15]sal of course the prophet the whole house is his house but
[21:20]there were Chambers there were Chambers rooms and each room was for
[21:26]one of the wives of the Prophet so sometimes the prophet would
[21:30]be in this room sometimes he would be in another room and
[21:32]there was a room that was specific for him this event According
[21:38]to some narrations it took place in while the prophet was with
[21:41]Sal or Sal is visiting faat so either either it took place
[21:45]in the room of or is at the house of and she
[21:51]says that the prophet meaning ahed so we mentioned Muslim and so
[22:10]basically when the prophet was including his family he was placing them
[22:13]under the and he said this is my family who tried to
[22:17]enter um Sal the wife of the Prophet she tried to enter
[22:23]so what does tell tell her so she says the prophet he
[22:51]came and he said this is Al Muhammad and oh Allah send
[22:53]your blessings and salutations upon Al Muhammad so she says I raised
[23:04]the cloak so I could go in under with them she tried
[23:10]to enter and what does tell her he pulled it out of
[23:16]my hand she says he said no he pulled it out of
[23:19]my hand and he tells her you are fine where you are
[23:23]we don't have a problem with you you're a good person you're
[23:26]a m you're a good lady but you are not intended in
[23:31]this meaning of the of the family of the Prophet that has
[23:35]that Authority from Allah subhana wa tala that is chosen by Allah
[23:43]subhanahu waala so the prophet refused to allow um Sal so what
[23:45]does this mean this means that the wives of the prophets are
[23:50]not in the bit it's very clear why would why wouldn't the
[23:52]prophet if if a wife is supposed to be a part of
[23:56]the bit then um Sal should have been allowed to enter enter
[23:59]then the other wives should have been allowed to enter because they
[24:03]were not allowed to enter that means we understand that the prophet
[24:07]when he says when the Quran says it means something different and
[24:11]something specific so now there are some misconceptions regarding this issue there's
[24:18]one Hadith it says there are some Hadith that you could find
[24:22]them for example in in some books that the prophet is referring
[24:26]to some of the wives as the today they'll come and they'll
[24:33]they'll they'll bring you some of thesei which might suggest that the
[24:37]prophet is saying some of the wives are a part of theit
[24:39]one of them is regarding Mar Maria she was one of the
[24:46]wives of the prophet and she was Coptic so the the king
[24:49]of the Coptic the of Egypt at that time he gifted he
[24:56]gifted her to she became a very good wife to the prophet
[24:59]and she uh she had a child ibraim she had a child
[25:05]who died at when he was 18 months old now there's an
[25:08]incident with Mar and here how many of you have heard of
[25:17]or before it goes that there was an accusation on one of
[25:26]the wives of the Prophet regarding a man coming and visiting her
[25:30]a man coming and seeing her so there's two versions of this
[25:36]two versions of this Hadith the Sunni school of thought they say
[25:40]that this U the the Sunni version says this is about AA
[25:47]was accused of adultery and the Quran came and said no AA
[25:52]has not done anything the sh version of the story and this
[25:54]could also be found in some Sunni books is that it was
[25:58]not about it was about mar mar she was the wife of
[26:07]the prophet and someone comes and informs the prophet that there's a
[26:11]man who is at the house of Maria there's a man at
[26:19]the house of Maria so tells IM Ali go take your sword
[26:21]go and kill him or go and do whatever see what you
[26:27]have to do tells the prophet do you want me to kill
[26:32]him as soon as I see him or do you want me
[26:36]to see and determine based on my understanding what decision I should
[26:40]make tells him no you see and use your understanding because someone
[26:44]came and gave me news someone came and said there's a man
[26:49]at Maria with Mar but you go and you check first double
[26:51]check before you come and you kill someone or before you go
[26:56]and you make a quick decision so he goes with his sword
[26:58]and he sees that there's someone and there's a water like a
[27:06]container of water hanging from the neck and he starts this person
[27:11]starts uh climbing a tree and starts running away as this person
[27:15]is running away they fall and he's not wearing anything under his
[27:22]his his shirt gets lifted discovers that this is not even a
[27:26]man look looks like a man but it wasn't a man so
[27:32]left him that's it it's not even a man it's a lady
[27:37]coming and visiting it's a lady coming and visiting Mar so it
[27:42]was a Coptic they because Mar came she was a Coptic she
[27:48]was gifted to the prophet so this person was coming and basically
[27:51]visiting her or checking up and helping out or something so then
[27:54]Amir left him Amir left him he goes and he tells the
[27:59]prophet and she tells the prophet so tells good that you didn't
[28:02]kill him because it was a lady it wasn't even a guy
[28:07]so this is the part where we wanted to mention the word
[28:21]he says all praise is due to God that he removes the
[28:27]evil from us so some people they come they say look the
[28:31]prophet included Mar here Scholars they understand this and there are several
[28:39]other narrations not just this one for example the prophet which companion
[28:42]of the Prophet tells him Salman tells Salman who was Persian Salman
[28:53]he tells him does that mean Salman is a part of this
[28:58]meaning no does this mean that the wives of the Prophet are
[29:01]included in this no in fact there's many says anyone from the
[29:10]is anyone who's anyone who is God conscious this person will become
[29:15]from says whoever loves us is from us the companion tells him
[29:41]from you the the ma the IM says yes so here you
[29:52]have a whole category ofth that include people you are a part
[29:56]of theit you are a part of the you are part of
[29:59]theit here these are all understood as whoever is following theit when
[30:03]you follow them you truly love them you become a part of
[30:08]them but is this talking about those group of people that Allah
[30:11]has specifically placed under the K and and and they have Divine
[30:17]Authority no those are a different group of people so you see
[30:19]the same word just like Salah is word for is used for
[30:24]Dua sometimes and sometimes it's used for the the five daily prayers
[30:27]sometimes it's used generally you are anyone who is relate anyone who
[30:32]follows the prophet would kind of be included in the according to
[30:38]this Hadith but when it's or Sal he's from the AL but
[30:43]this verse it's talking about that specific group of people that Allah
[30:49]subhana tala has given Divine Authority another misconception regarding the bit is
[30:55]they'll come and they'll tell you where do does Allah mention the
[31:00]word which Surah in the Quran verse 33 3333 Allah says in
[31:07]the Quran they'll tell you okay go pull up the Quran look
[31:15]at this verse go and look at the verse before it who's
[31:20]the verse talking to it's talking to the wives of the Prophet
[31:24]it's talking to the wives of the prophets oh wives of the
[31:32]prophet okay so they'll come and they'll tell you the first of
[32:03]the verse is saying let me read the English translation oh wives
[32:08]of the Prophet you are not like any other woman if you
[32:13]are mindful of Allah then do not be overly effeminate in speech
[32:16]with men or those with sickness in their hearts may be tempted
[32:20]but speak in a moderate tone settle in your homes and do
[32:26]not display yourselves as women did in the days of pre-islam ignorance
[32:29]establish prayer and pay alms tax and Obey Allah and his messenger
[32:34]and then only Allah intends to keep the causes of evil away
[32:38]from you and purify you completely oh members of The Prophet's family
[32:44]so now the beginning of the verse is talking to the wives
[32:47]of the Prophet so why do we come and exclude them from
[32:49]this meaning when when in the beginning it's talking to the wives
[32:54]of the Prophet who has the answer yes the okay that's one
[33:02]but look at the Quran from the Quran how do we how
[33:08]could we exclude them just using the Quran yes brother exactly so
[33:12]it goes from feminine to plural um in the Arabic language when
[33:19]you're speaking to woman you do listen can you pay pay attention
[33:29]to the the pronoun that is being used Allah says in the
[33:32]Quran oh wives of the prophets what what did you notice that
[34:05]noon at the end that noon at the end that is talking
[34:07]to purely woman you're only talking to the woman now notice the
[34:11]shift in the in the way the languages of the Quran after
[34:18]all of this and then suddenly what does it say not what
[34:33]does this mean this means that there's a distinction there's a separation
[34:37]this is one conversation this is another conversation you can't come and
[34:42]include them together because now the pronoun has changed the pronoun has
[34:47]changed this is one the pronoun has changed which is very clear
[34:53]Allah is trying to make a distinction now why would this verse
[34:56]be with this verse because the family of the prophet someone might
[34:59]come and confuse yeah the family the prophet has many people in
[35:02]his house they has the and he also has the wives so
[35:06]the Quran is trying to draw a distinction that this is how
[35:11]I speak to the wives of the prophet and this is how
[35:13]I speak to those okay now also another very important point to
[35:23]notice is the tone the tone of the Quran how does the
[35:28]Quran speak to the wives of the Prophet what is what is
[35:30]the Quran trying to say oh wives of the Prophet it's threatening
[35:42]them it's warning them it's a very rough tone Oh wives of
[35:45]the Prophet you're not like any other woman if you're mindful of
[35:50]Allah then do not be over overly effeminate in speech with men
[35:52]telling the wives of don't talk to men or those with sickness
[35:55]in their hearts may be tempted but speak in a moderate tone
[35:59]settle in your homes and do not come out of your house
[36:06]the way in pre-islamic times the women would come out and reveal
[36:11]themselves uh and obey God and obey the prophet and pray and
[36:19]give zakat is this is this the way you the Quran speaks
[36:23]to the no and you see you see that this tone once
[36:29]again is also used inim it also has a story where the
[36:35]prophet he made something Haram upon himself there was there was jealousy
[36:40]between the wives of the Prophet so one of the wives of
[36:46]the Prophet she tells Allah she tells she tells Allah one of
[36:48]them Maria she had brought honey to the prophet she goes and
[36:54]she tells her she goes and she tells the the prophet the
[36:58]you have a bad smell in your mouth because he ate the
[37:03]food that the other one gave him so what does the prophet
[37:06]do the prophet because he was so compassionate he was so kind
[37:09]he wants to always please everyone he says I'm not going to
[37:13]eat that honey anymore came down meaning oh Prophet why are you
[37:22]doing why are you making something that God made Halal upon you
[37:26]Haram so meaning the Quran is kind of being very rough with
[37:28]the wives why are you trying to please them why are you
[37:33]why are you trying to please them you you eat what's Halal
[37:37]and then and then the Quran even goes a level a level
[37:40]further speaking to the wives of the Prophet Allah tells the tells
[37:56]them the wives of the Prophet you are you're you're basically you
[38:02]are um you're collaborating against the prophet and if you it is
[38:07]better for you wives both to turn to Allah in Repentance for
[38:12]your hearts have certainly faltered but if you continue to collaborate against
[38:17]him then know that Allah himself is his guardian and jbra and
[38:21]the righteous Believers and the angels are all his supporters as well
[38:25]oh my God imagine the Quran comes and tells people if you
[38:32]turn against this person uh God is going to be on his
[38:35]side and the angels and the righteous people and the an um
[38:40]but if you continue to collaborate against him then know that Allah
[38:43]himself is his guardian and jbra and the righteous Believers and the
[38:47]angels meaning all of those are against you is the Quran showing
[38:53]High lofty status to someone who the Quran is speaking to them
[38:57]that way no the Quran is the Quran is showing that this
[39:02]is you you need to be very careful you need to be
[39:04]very cautious of your acts of your actions of your demeanor and
[39:09]the Quran is giving a threatening tone but then when you look
[39:12]at the family of the Prophet IM Ali IM Hassan Hussein do
[39:17]you see this kind of tone that the Quran uses no go
[39:21]read insan the whole page you read it Allah is talking about
[39:25]the levels in Jenna of the Allah keeps talking keeps the whole
[39:45]page it continues how God is giving the bit those who who
[39:47]gave their food when they were hungry and those were the story
[39:53]of theit the the family of the Prophet F IM Hassan Hussein
[39:56]they were the ones who gave their food so here you see
[40:02]that there is a distinction between the wives of the prophet and
[40:09]between the so now we know who the are they are IM
[40:13]Ali imanin and and I will mention another Hadith I'll get just
[40:28]a second so he has a book it's called what does that
[40:34]mean he what are the that he's referring to sahkari and sah
[40:38]Muslim bukari and Muslim they were top Scholars they have a formula
[40:45]they apply that formula and then they put a Hadith in their
[40:47]book if it fits if it qualifies they put it in their
[40:52]book but this man he comes later he sees that there are
[40:55]many Hadith that that formula fits and it qualifies but they did
[41:01]not put it in their book so what did he do he
[41:03]wrote a book meaning he comes and he uses the same formula
[41:09]that they use the same basically levels of um uh of look
[41:15]scrutiny on the Hadith he comes and he uses those same levels
[41:20]and he applies it to other Hadith and he sees that they
[41:21]apply but they don't put it in their book why do they
[41:26]not put it in their book maybe because of some bias maybe
[41:29]because of some agenda that they may have and you see that
[41:34]there's a lot of Hadith that praise the bukari and Muslim don't
[41:37]mention them some of them they slip in some of them they
[41:42]mention them but for example bukari they asked him do you know
[41:44]Imam sad he says yes he was a scholar he's a scholar
[41:48]of Abu hanifah and he's the scholar of many of shaf of
[41:52]Malik they tell him do you mention any Hadith from IM sad
[41:57]he says no there's something in my heart from IM he doesn't
[42:00]mention a single Hadith from Im so you see that there's a
[42:05]bias this man he comes and he brings this Hadith one of
[42:08]them thisi he says basically this is goes to the standards of
[42:33]bukari and Muslim but they did not put it so those are
[42:37]the bit now we're going to move on but I'll take a
[42:41]break and we'll take your question but now one other misconception and
[42:44]finally we will conclude with this people come and say okay those
[42:47]are theit what about the imams the nine imams does that apply
[42:51]to them they come and they say why are you following the
[42:53]imams those are the yes brother talking to what it could it
[43:14]could because the the [Music] word this is more General than men
[43:24]and women it's it's it's uh it it mean it's not just
[43:27]woman it's talking to either a bunch of men or men and
[43:33]women together it could be included so that could be a meaning
[43:35]however you see a distinction in the tone of the language it
[43:41]doesn't make sense for the Quran to come and threaten threaten threaten
[43:43]threaten and then yeah God removes all you're you're purified and you're
[43:47]blessed and all that there's a it seems to be a contradiction
[43:50]and similarly you see in in it's speaking to someone as if
[44:00]you just joined Islam and you don't know anything and you're you're
[44:02]kind of like lousy but then now you're now you're coming and
[44:05]you're saying you are you are purified and you're Saint and you're
[44:13]because this this we understand from this as we understand from this
[44:16]protection from God that you're not going to error you're not going
[44:18]to do anything wrong and you see that if it were to
[44:22]apply you see later on which we will mention in the next
[44:24]session That We Gather later on you're going to see that some
[44:29]of the wives of the Prophet or if some people come and
[44:32]say some of the sahabah they did certain things that contradicts this
[44:35]meaning if it's truly Purity then why would the wife of the
[44:40]Prophet later on go and wage a war against IM Ali and
[44:42]leave her house as the Quran says you have to stay in
[44:47]your house she left her house so what does that mean in
[44:49]the Battle of jam she left her house so what does that
[44:54]mean that means that she is not either not applying what the
[44:56]Quran says or it does not even apply to her from original
[45:00]from the beginning yes okay now we will move on to um
[45:09]the final point that we want to look at is some people
[45:11]come and say what about the IMs of the okay IM um
[45:19]IM IM the other IMS nine imams from the children of IM
[45:23]Hussein are they included in the meaning of the or are they
[45:27]not included so as for the we know who the are the
[45:34]people of the the people who were under the cloak this is
[45:40]unanimous consensus this is those who were however the baate the meaning
[45:45]that we tried to look after and we were going after and
[45:48]that was not just the family of the Prophet but those who
[45:54]when we say we say those who were God has purified and
[45:59]God has given authority to represent the Quran and speak on behalf
[46:03]of the Prophet that is the meaning of theit that we're trying
[46:05]to get so if it's that meaning then yes this includes the
[46:12]imams of the all the way until what is a proof that
[46:23]we have for this one very simple proof is it's a word
[46:28]from the prophets maybe a sentence from the prophet but it has
[46:33]a lot of meanings one he says I'm leaving with you what
[46:45]I what if you hold on to this that that I leave
[46:50]with you you are never going to go astray one is greater
[46:56]than the other the book of Allah it's a ring a string
[47:05]that is stretched from the Heavens to the Earth basically the Quran
[47:11]is your connection with God so this is one and then he
[47:14]says and my family my now here's the part that is very
[47:21]important in this Hadith what does he say after he says says
[47:38]the Quran and the that I'm leaving behind they shall never separate
[47:46]until when they will be together all the way until the of
[47:50]where's the how of K on the day of judgment on the
[47:56]day of judgment the how of K meaning the Quran and the
[47:59]they're going to remain parallel to one another and they're going to
[48:02]remain together until the day of judgment so what do we understand
[48:09]from this one meaning we understand the infallibility of the is the
[48:14]Quran an infallible book is the Quran a pure a pure book
[48:20]there's no errors in the Quran so when the Quran when says
[48:23]they shall never separate from one another that means they're always parallel
[48:27]with one another what does that mean that means that the they
[48:32]don't do anything that contradicts the Quran they are always with the
[48:39]Quran and he says this many times in many other is with
[48:45]that truth and the truth is with Al Al is with the
[48:50]Quran and the Quran is with Ali he says about God is
[48:55]Satisfied by the satisfaction of and God is angered by the anger
[48:58]of what does that mean that means the the masters of the
[49:09]Youth of paradise that means they don't separate from the Quran if
[49:12]someone separates from the Quran then there's going to be they're going
[49:15]to be wrong they're going to be astray but those who are
[49:19]on the right path they never separate from the Quran this is
[49:22]one of the proofs of the of the infallibility of the of
[49:26]course there are many other proofs one of of them is this
[49:33]is one point of difference between sunnis and Sh sunnis come and
[49:36]say even the prophets they say the prophets and they're only only
[49:43]while they are delivering the message in their home and their private
[49:46]life they're not M we come and we say no the prophets
[49:52]all of the prophets and and the because as long as you
[49:54]are chosen to be a representative of God you have to always
[49:57]be with the truth and the they shall never separate from the
[50:02]Quran another what's another meaning that we understand from this continuation until
[50:13]they reach the what does that mean that means as long as
[50:18]the Quran exists and the Quran will exist until the day of
[50:20]judgment who is going to also remain one of the imams of
[50:26]theit must remain that means there has to always be that means
[50:30]the will remain and one of the imams of theit will remain
[50:38]and this is why if if we were to say that there
[50:44]this Hadith does not apply then okay okay what are you going
[50:48]to do after the martyrdom of IM Hussein that means you have
[50:51]to believe that there's the IM passes down from IM Al Hussein
[50:56]it went to IM IM then IM then IM then IM then
[51:05]Imad then IM Al then imar then IMI and thisi they shall
[51:11]never separate until they reach the of this Hadith proves that Allah
[51:16]subhana wa tala will prolong the life of IM Al Mahi until
[51:21]the day of judgment there has to be a proof of God
[51:23]until the day of judgment and this is how Allah subh has
[51:29]pure uh prolonged the life of the IM According to which is
[51:37]mentioned by sunnis and Sh so basically in this session we explained
[51:42]who the bit are are the wives of the Prophet included in
[51:48]the what are the multiple meanings of there's a linguistic meaning there's
[51:52]the meaning the general understanding of people right now you say family
[51:56]but then there's the Islamic definition the quranic definition the prophetic definition
[52:00]and that is referring to those who have been chosen by Allah
[52:06]not bait or or anyone who just follows the bit you need
[52:09]to be chosen by Allah subhanahu wa taala so now finally what
[52:13]is our duty to the our duty to the is to love
[52:17]the and follow the means loving and obedience so this is what
[52:28]we have to do we have to love them now we ask
[52:32]the question have the Muslims truly loved theit maybe some of them
[52:35]they say I love theit but they're also okay with the enemies
[52:39]of the bit what should my stance be towards the enemies of
[52:42]the bit or towards those who took the H took the right
[52:46]away from the inshallah we will discuss that in the next session
[52:49]which is also a misconception they come and they tell the sh
[52:53]you accuse the wives of the Prophet you you curse the sahaba
[52:58]of the Prophet you have a negative stance with the sahaba of
[53:01]the Prophet this needs clarification this needs understanding and we will see
[53:05]what is the position of the what does the Quran say with
[53:11]regards to this issue
