[0:33]Islam and without you oh Abbas there was no other flag bearer

[0:37]my love for you both can never decrease but can only increase

[0:40]for what water is to a fish for what oxygen is to

[0:44]humans that is what you both are to me without you there

[0:50]is only suffocation salawat in the name of Allah the most beneficial

[0:56]and the most merciful my dear brothers and sisters families and distinguished

[1:03]Scholars assalamu alaikum congratulations to all on the births of the Heavenly

[1:14]Stars Imam Al Hussain Imam Zain al-abadin may Allah grant us their

[1:22]intercession and their visitation on this occasion of happiness in the house

[1:26]of the holy prophet Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wasallam and his salaam I

[1:32]wish to extend my profound felicitations and greetings to the Imam of

[1:37]our time and to all the meaning I would like to start

[1:47]off today's program by inviting brother Taha for the recitation of the

[1:50]Holy Quran after Allah [Music] Muhammad I would be lying upon your

[2:17]regime foreign [Music] [Applause] foreign foreign [Music] [Applause] foreign foreign [Applause] foreign

[6:47]loud salout for that beautiful recitation by our brother Taha today's program

[6:56]will begin with a lecture by our guest speaker Dr said Mustafa

[7:01]kazwini followed by English Nasheed by Brother Muhammad farhani is the founding

[7:10]Imam of the Islamic Educational Center of Orange County and the founding

[7:15]president of the Shia Muslim Council of Southern California he is a

[7:19]graduate of the Islamic Seminary of Gom holds a PhD in Islamic

[7:24]Studies from the UK and is the author of numerous books did

[7:27]I mention that he's also the uncle of none other than our

[7:32]scholar samatous we are very honored to have you here and we

[7:36]welcome you to Mecca with that being said I would be Beyond

[7:40]honored to welcome the Beloved scholar so my doctors Muhammad I always

[8:03]believe that Michigan is the warmest state in the nation despite the

[8:08]snow outside the freezing weather but the welcoming atmosphere of the community

[8:16]of the meaning it makes you feel you are in the warmest

[8:22]state alhamdulillah alhamdulillah foreign foreign congratulations on the birth of three major

[9:47]brightest stars in the sky of this Humanity foreign on the fourth

[9:59]his Bearer standard the leader of his army Salaam and on the

[10:14]5th of Shaban Ali Imam and also congratulations on opening inaugurating this

[10:27]Islamic Center in this town in this city it's a very diverse

[10:36]community alhamdulillah and I pray that your place your Center will be

[10:42]a beacon of knowledge and piety since you have one of the

[10:48]best young leaders in the nation say it's Allah who's dedicated his

[10:53]Pious he's knowledgeable he's sincere and also the board members the founders

[11:00]the organizers the attendees the community they all make when they get

[11:09]together a leader board member and the community they make they make

[11:16]great Center they work together here and you have to have this

[11:23]sense of belonging to this place though you replace a small now

[11:28]in the beginning but every successful abroad project begins with the first

[11:34]step begins with a smaller place but then it will grow when

[11:41]you dedicate your work your effort to the cause of God then

[11:49]you will see the growth the real growth friends every morning when

[11:55]we wake up we have a choice between focusing on this Dunya

[12:05]on the material gains of this life and pursuing them and this

[12:13]is what Millions rather billions of people do every morning or investing

[12:19]for the next life some people only focus on this and this

[12:28]is a fact in the Quran this is not something new 1400

[12:35]years ago God says to the Muslims who were with the prophet

[12:39]they were with the prophet Muhammad the greatest leader he said to

[12:43]them in chapter three some of you focuses only on this life

[12:56]on the gains and the prophet of this worldly life they have

[13:04]no other ambition no other objective no other goal their ultimate goal

[13:09]is this Dunya to have a nice house nice job good income

[13:16]enjoy this life and then that after that we leave but on

[13:22]the other hand you may enjoy good life here enjoy your family

[13:27]enjoy your house enjoy your income enjoy food enjoy friends family and

[13:35]friends but in the back of your head you have a higher

[13:41]goal your higher goal is not this life These are means the

[13:48]family the money the health the education that you have the position

[13:52]that you have these are means for a higher goal and the

[13:58]higher goal is to be a good citizen a good citizen of

[14:04]God's Kingdom on Earth to be a righteous person to be a

[14:08]person who does good to others around him a source of goodness

[14:13]a source of kindness a source of beauty a source of inspiration

[14:17]foreign God does not want me to climb the Himalaya Mountain Mount

[14:29]Everest no he says I want you wherever you live you live

[14:31]in Canton Michigan you live in Dearborn you live in Irvine California

[14:35]you live in vintage Bay Lebanon it doesn't matter you have to

[14:40]be a source of goodness a source of giving a source of

[14:48]contribution to your Society to your community to your family to those

[14:52]who live around you be it Muslims or non-muslims you give you

[14:58]sacrifice for mankind seeking the continents of God seeking the satisfaction of

[15:08]God so we have a choice every morning either I pursue my

[15:11]worldly dreams and I focus on this life but I have nothing

[15:21]this is exactly the wording of the Quran they focus on this

[15:26]life but in that one they have no portion they come empty-handed

[15:31]or enjoy this life but at the same time my dream my

[15:37]dream is that one is to be successful in that one and

[15:43]if you keep this a dream in your mind every morning you

[15:46]will be successful you will be happy even if you go through

[15:50]some suffering in your life even if some people attack you some

[15:55]people do not respect you some people do not appreciate what you

[16:01]do you're still inside you are happy because you know your ultimate

[16:07]goal is not this life your ultimate goal is God's satisfaction God's

[16:12]satisfaction and you are a guest here you are a guest in

[16:18]this life we pass it through this life we are not staying

[16:24]here many of you were a student remember the days you are

[16:28]students some of you were studying out out of the state in

[16:31]other countries in other states some of you some of the students

[16:36]they can't afford food I know some of them they live in

[16:41]a very very harsh conditions but these three or four or five

[16:44]years they're going to pass they say okay no no problem yes

[16:51]I'm experiencing difficulties but this difficulty is not lasting forever I'm going

[16:56]to graduate to get a job to make money to establish a

[17:02]family and to live happy this is the parable of us in

[17:09]this life we are students we will graduate soon but we have

[17:11]to be prepared for that graduation when we leave this life this

[17:17]is our graduation says we have been composed of a number of

[17:27]days not years not decades a number of days every day today

[17:39]is Sunday today is Saturday February 26th what what date is it

[17:47]20 25th 25 25th year 20 I was about to say 2020

[17:54]because I'm still you know but then you have to say 2023.

[18:00]the year has no meaning you know one year passes by and

[18:03]you don't even feel it this day is gone this day is

[18:08]gone and when this day goes takes part of me with it

[18:11]dismantles me says takes part of you away because you are reaching

[18:18]your final the final line we have to be prepared for that

[18:23]graduation your Islamic Center here is called Makkah and it reminds me

[18:34]it reminds me of the verse in the second chapter in the

[18:40]Quran foreign it's a very significant statement every building has PS of

[18:58]Foundations one is the material Foundation so here your Center has a

[19:05]material Foundation it has furnitures okay it has chairs ceiling walls structure

[19:12]a building this is the material Foundation which is necessary it's necessary

[19:19]to have a material Foundation but then the second Foundation is more

[19:24]even more important it's the spirit of the center and that is

[19:32]the spiritual and moral Foundation of your Center when Ibrahim alaihissalam built

[19:40]Mecca the Kaaba he he made he made the Kaaba out of

[19:49]what mud and a bricks that is the material Foundation but then

[19:53]he said something important after that he said or our Lord me

[19:58]and my son we are the Builders of your house and we

[20:04]have accomplished this Mission we built this house so now we want

[20:09]you to accept our deed to accept this accomplishment this is a

[20:18]reference to what to the spiritual and moral Foundation of Mecca of

[20:24]the house of God the moral Foundation the moral Foundation is a

[20:30]class my friends devotion dedication we did this house for you you

[20:36]asked me to build a house and I listen to you and

[20:41]now this is the house so I want you to endorse it

[20:44]to put your signature on it to accept it not to reject

[20:48]this work and God says the Beautiful World when you utter any

[21:02]beautiful word any kind word it's going to go to God it's

[21:05]going to be registered with him with God today how many people

[21:10]you greeted this morning how many people you inspired this morning how

[21:14]many people you smiled to this morning you made them happy you

[21:17]said to them good morning how are you I am praying for

[21:22]you these are a beautiful statements these are going to be registered

[21:28]there with God the righteous did that you present is going to

[21:37]lift it up up to him meaning he's going to accept it

[21:40]and endorse it and be proud of it my friends the spiritual

[21:50]Foundation of your Islamic Center should be devotion you give for the

[21:57]sake of God and Mankind there are other centers in other places

[22:02]in America and outside America they are very magnificent very huge very

[22:09]big it cost millions of dollars but it does not have a

[22:15]clause these centers are built as commercial centers not not spiritual centers

[22:21]in my opinion if you ask me this is my analysis we

[22:24]have two types of centers either spiritual and moral if not it

[22:28]will be a commercial center a place just to raise money just

[22:33]to make money a place of a prestige to express my prestige

[22:40]a place of a bragging and boasting commercial centers the difference between

[22:51]a spiritual center and Commercial Center in the spiritual one you see

[22:56]the results you see the growth you see the change in the

[22:59]community slowly slowly you see people changing to become better citizens better

[23:08]fathers better mothers better neighbors more humble more serving more obedient to

[23:16]God this is the difference you see the results slowly slowly but

[23:20]when we turn some of the centers into commercial places you see

[23:24]no result no result it's Barren infertile doesn't give any result sometimes

[23:32]it gives bad results it will sow the seeds of dissension and

[23:36]hypocrisy in the community it's like a bad hospital with bad Physicians

[23:43]it will kill the patients it would not treat them so the

[23:48]First Foundation of any Center is a glass devotion I'm doing this

[23:55]for God not for my personal gain or profit for God I'm

[24:00]trying to serve it's not about me and my name and my

[24:04]family and my it's about the community I open my heart for

[24:11]all and one of I just said this to say it Salah

[24:16]I like what I like the most about any Islamic Center and

[24:22]and and mosque in this nation is the diversity because I live

[24:28]in the most Diversified region in America when I stand on the

[24:31]pulpit of Friday Friday sermon on the member on the podium I

[24:38]see in front of me 25 different nationalities my friends 25 different

[24:44]nationalities this is the beauty of Islam when you can bring all

[24:50]sorts of cultures and languages and colors and accents and ages and

[24:54]backgrounds Under One Roof they pray together they stand together this is

[24:59]an achievement it's a big achievement and you must maintain this spirit

[25:05]we don't look at people's nationality we don't look at people's color

[25:10]does he speak the same language like me is he from my

[25:14]Village or not I don't care people are close to me because

[25:19]of because they are virtuous I don't examine their nationality where they

[25:22]were born I don't care I don't care who's what family name

[25:29]he carries family name is Irrelevant in the eyes of God there

[25:32]is only one thing is important in the eyes of God and

[25:36]this is mentioned in the Quran chapter 49 one of the greatest

[25:42]verse in the quranasi akum your favorite ones in the eyes of

[25:58]God is not the Arabs neither whites neither rich neither people from

[26:05]the North or the South no at kakum those who are more

[26:14]responsible in this life more virtuous more pious this is the beauty

[26:20]of Islam you cannot find this message only in this religion you

[26:23]don't find it in any other religion all other religions they have

[26:29]some sort of discrimination some sort of bias except Islam Islam says

[26:34]we don't look at your race your color where do you come

[26:41]from Islam is not a village religion it's a universal religion it's

[26:44]not local it's Universal and this is why Islam is attracting others

[26:52]a lady converted to Islam a few months ago she comes from

[27:01]a rich family white family conservative family her family members are all

[27:09]accomplished all accomplished all successful she herself is very successful they have

[27:15]the the most beautiful Church but she is coming to a small

[27:22]mosque and when I tell her listen you are downgrading yourself of

[27:25]course I'm I'm teasing her you know I'm testing her you are

[27:30]downgrading yourself your church is much bigger look at your facility multi-million

[27:35]dollar facility your family your background your education your family is wealthy

[27:42]your race your color she says but in Islam there are things

[27:46]that are unique whatever you are saying your color your race are

[27:52]Irrelevant in Islam the beauty of Islam is equality is a humility

[27:59]this one is not found in my religion you can find everything

[28:03]in my religion except humility or equality and this is a fact

[28:07]my friends this is a fact maybe we take it for granted

[28:13]we don't pay attention to it but others who come into this

[28:15]religion and those who go to the right place not the wrong

[28:21]place they take the right exit not the wrong exit they come

[28:24]to a right Islamic Center if you can embrace them with love

[28:29]and respect them they'll see the difference so you have to set

[28:35]the record right from the first day receive people with warm welcoming

[28:42]don't look at people's Identity or nationality or where they come from

[28:46]in the eyes of God we are his children we are his

[28:52]dependent there is no discrimination and this is the type of life

[28:58]God wants us to lead people from all backgrounds they sit together

[29:01]they share the food together they share their religion their faith together

[29:07]with their kids we do not differentiate and keep this Spirit keep

[29:15]this spirit always Spirit of unity and equality and love so foreign

[29:46]your heart have devotion and sincerity and earnestness in your heart you

[29:55]don't have to do too much prayers and too much fasting and

[29:59]too much charity even if you do little but this little is

[30:03]equality equality is good it comes from your heart when you serve

[30:10]you serve from the bottom of your heart you don't serve for

[30:15]a name for reputation you don't serve for a prophet you don't

[30:19]serve people because you want people to to to commend you or

[30:23]to praise you you have a clause then even if you do

[30:27]something small it will be accepted by God friends in chapter 5

[30:33]the first story that took place on Earth what is the first

[30:41]story the first a tragic event that took a place on Earth

[30:44]what is it murdered habil Kane murdered Abel in this story why

[30:56]did he murder his brother 's siblings they are supposed to be

[31:01]together but one of them had a class the other did not

[31:07]have a class and they were competing always the powers of goodness

[31:13]are in conflict with powers of evil actually Cain said to Abel

[31:23]because God accepted the offering of Abel he rejected the offering of

[31:32]Cain so Cain was very envious and jealous so he said to

[31:35]his brother I am going to murder you the answer from his

[31:40]brother is very meaningful very meaningful we have to reflect on the

[31:44]answer very short but very deep very meaningful he said the problem

[31:55]that God rejected your offer because you are not sincere you are

[31:59]not honest you are a hypocrite you did not give your best

[32:07]offering it was a display of ostentation what you did you wanted

[32:11]people to praise you though at that time there were no people

[32:16]the population of Earth was only four only four Adam Eve Cain

[32:20]and Abel but look at some sickness some people who are sick

[32:24]even if there is no population they want to be number one

[32:27]they want people to praise them you have God says in the

[32:38]Quran they always want people to praise them praise them praise them

[32:42]and thank them and say wow what a great guy what a

[32:44]great contribution he's doing he doesn't have a clause so he said

[32:51]to him this is the problem you did not do it out

[32:56]of conviction or faith God only accept the Deeds of the sincere

[33:06]everything you do my friends you don't have to do many things

[33:11]you do only one thing but with earnestness with a class with

[33:15]faith with love you do it for the sake of God you

[33:23]will see the result in your life Imam says what is more

[33:30]difficult than the job itself sometimes you do a work that work

[33:37]is very challenging it's very difficult it's very strenuous but what is

[33:42]more difficult than the job itself the spirit of doing it in

[33:46]which Spirit you do and a class is the most difficult thing

[33:50]my friends to do something with a class and to finish it

[33:55]with ikhlas from the beginning till the end is the most difficult

[34:02]task it's more difficult than the job itself more difficult and this

[34:05]is a test from God God is testing us with something very

[34:09]important and the test is not easy the test is difficult and

[34:15]if we pass it then we are a qualified for Paradise God

[34:23]speaks about the quality of a glass and earnestness and devotion and

[34:28]sincerity and dedication and many of you are dedicated many in your

[34:34]community are very dedicated people you don't work for yourself and God

[34:38]says listen are you looking for reputation don't work for yourself if

[34:45]you work for me I'll make your reputation good I'll take care

[34:51]of you I'll take care of your needs put me first put

[34:55]the Community First I will put you first God says if anyone

[35:02]puts people first I will put him on my list to do

[35:07]things God has a list of to do things he says I

[35:08]will put that person first because when I see this person is

[35:12]not taking care of himself he's taking care of his Community First

[35:16]I will say then I have to help him out foreign I

[35:23]have to help him out so that is the first thing Ibrahim

[35:29]said you are all hearing all knowledgeable you see what we do

[35:38]and then he says after that after building the Islamic Center the

[35:47]next step is what to submit to God to the will of

[35:51]God what does God want me to do in this place I

[35:55]have to listen to God sometimes my desire says you have to

[36:00]do this but God says something else who comes first my desire

[36:19]have to listen to God I'm his servant I belong to him

[36:23]I have to execute His Wish Not My Wish if there is

[36:29]a conflict between my wish my desire and God's desire then God

[36:33]comes first one of the problem in our work as scholars in

[36:44]America and this is very widespread that we put people's desire before

[36:50]God's desire you come to a place and you tell them why

[36:52]do you do this this is illegal he says but say it

[36:56]if we don't do this people are not going to come but

[37:00]this is illegal this is against religion you are putting people before

[37:04]God you are not going to achieve anything when you put people

[37:10]before God your work is going to go in vain put God

[37:17]first respect God respect God imagine if Ibrahim when he saw the

[37:29]dream of sacrificing his son he would come to the community to

[37:32]his community and he asks them people what do you think should

[37:36]I sacrifice my son a smile I am a father at the

[37:42]age of 86 according to the Bible age of 86 and the

[37:47]Quran too because he was old an old man when he received

[37:48]when he got his first son he was very old so if

[37:54]he comes and this boy now is 12 years old he just

[37:59]started to go out going out with his father so if Ibrahim

[38:06]comes to the community and says all Community God wants me to

[38:11]murder my son what do you think should I do that or

[38:19]not what would the answer be all people are going to tell

[38:31]son and you want to murder him the entire Community is going

[38:35]to say no but God is saying yes I want you to

[38:50]of the people conflicts with God which one comes first here why

[38:55]do we give concession on religion why do we put put God

[39:08]first people are going to respect you too because you don't compromise

[39:13]your values your principles so Ibrahim was putting God first and when

[39:17]he put God first he was successful he passed the test God

[39:41]submit submit to the will of God don't submit to your desire

[39:49]My Desire tells me many things to do many things not to

[39:52]do many things I have to listen to God and see what

[39:56]God wants me to do this is point number two and point

[39:59]number three where I conclude um it's not enough for me to

[40:11]submit to God I want my family my children imagine my friends

[40:14]if someone only one person practices religion in the family is this

[40:22]enough is this enough if his kids do not to practice is

[40:24]this enough it's not enough imagine one person in the family eats

[40:28]food and the rest they don't eat is that a healthy family

[40:32]one person in the in the family he has Health Care others

[40:38]do not have health care is this a healthy family it's not

[40:46]healthy for only me to pray and then I don't care about

[40:49]my family Ibrahim is asking God that not just make me a

[40:58]devout person I want my kids to be devout to and this

[41:02]is what you are doing you are bringing your kids today with

[41:04]you this is important don't go to a place without taking cure

[41:10]to this place to an Islamic Center to an Islamic lecture without

[41:16]taking your kids you must bring them you must encourage them you

[41:20]must Inspire them sometimes I say jokingly you must bribe them too

[41:24]bribe them in a good way not in a negative way not

[41:29]like the bribery in Iraq or Lebanon no American bribery cantonian bribery

[41:35]encourage them tell them if you come with me today to this

[41:40]session I know it's early in the morning I know it's a

[41:46]to a vacation I'll buy this for you I'll buy you have

[43:00]stories that I tell from my humble experience in these 30 years

[43:07]in America I see different stories many of them are inspirational lessons

[43:12]for us a family that was struggling with their children in America

[43:18]parents are very Pious practicing Muslims children because some of them were

[43:26]spoiled they were spoiled especially those who who live in Rich families

[43:31]they were spoiled everything was you know available for them when they

[43:37]opened their eyes they never struggled for anything they never struggled for

[43:43]for a place or education or vacation or money or clothing so

[43:48]they get spoiled but you have to take them to Lebanon to

[43:51]Iran to Iraq to India to Africa one month ago I was

[43:59]in India and I always see in the streets of India I

[44:01]went to six cities in India three are always together friends always

[44:06]the cow the dog and poor woman wherever there is a pile

[44:13]of a trash you you find this a three collaborating together searching

[44:17]in that trash a cow or cows dogs and poor women poor

[44:24]human being they search in the trash to find some food some

[44:28]food for their children this is in India a month ago I

[44:32]saw it with my eyes and we don't appreciate what God has

[44:35]given us here we don't we nag We complain oh I don't

[44:40]like this food this is not my food go and look at

[44:45]other people take your kids to other nations see how people are

[44:52]starving people who have no no shelter no shelter now that I'm

[44:55]talking to you thousands of families in turkey and Syria they have

[45:00]no shelters no shelters yesterday they had a beautiful apartment beautiful building

[45:06]this building collapsed within 30 seconds 30 seconds took 30 seconds for

[45:12]that building to come down many of them are buried under the

[45:16]rubble and those who survived they are in the tents we have

[45:19]to give thanks to God teach your children appreciate everything you have

[45:24]even if your apartment is a small even if the food is

[45:30]humble appreciate thank God give thanks life is test so those family

[45:37]because she was spoiled she didn't like the mosque but the mother

[45:45]she went after her kids and she would ask how can I

[45:51]change them I said you can change them from your supper your

[45:54]perseverance do not give up on them do not give up on

[45:59]God's mercy when you keep knocking at God's door you knock you

[46:03]bang bang God is going to open the door and this is

[46:08]the spirit of a Hadith Hadith says if you really want God

[46:31]day she wakes up the daughter herself tells the mother I want

[46:35]to go to the mosque today I want you to give me

[47:30]but you have to be you have to persevere do not give

[47:35]up on God's mercy it comes at the right time it comes
