[0:00][Music] when we continue to look at the Life and Legacy of

[0:32]IM aliam highlighting these themes of character and competence you see some

[0:37]of the the most cous uh you know stances that the Imam

[0:42]took um the first that comes to mind especially as we're we're

[0:45]going and in somewhat of a chronological order uh throughout his life

[0:49]we're seeing this scene of the Holy prophet's life being threatened of

[0:53]persecution getting to such a level where the prophet's life is being

[0:58]threatened and he's inspired by that there is a plot an assassination

[1:06]a plot against his life so he goes to the person that

[1:07]he trusts the most and he knows that can fulfill his his

[1:11]request goes to IM this young man who at this time is

[1:18]in his early 20s um he goes to him and he tells

[1:20]him yeah Ali I have a task for you and um it's

[1:24]it's it's it's a big one the Imam says of course what

[1:28]can I do for you and he tells him that I'm going

[1:33]to leave in the night because there's a plot against my life

[1:36]I'm going to escape in the night you're going to stay in

[1:40]my bed in my home so that those who are trying to

[1:42]kill me don't have any clue what's going on that I've escaped

[1:48]going to take my place and I'm going to be able to

[1:51]to leave while you're at my bed Imam asked the prophet one

[1:58]question will you be safe that's it that's all he had on

[2:00]his mind Prophet said yes that he goes down into in prostration

[2:06]and says three times thanks be to God so Imam takes on

[2:14]the task goes into the B of the Prophet Prophet leaves in

[2:20]a night the Assassins come in they unshed their swords and then

[2:24]as they're about to strike it said that IM aliam covers himself

[2:28]from the bed is his sword and um is ready for battle

[2:37]uh the Assassins looking at Imam not looking for a battle um

[2:43]basically their their plot their plans are unfoiled and Imam essentially tells

[2:50]them hey if you want to get to the prophet you have

[2:54]to go through me and um their plans are unfoiled everything is

[2:57]done they leave Imam also tked with the holy prophet to pay

[3:04]the some debts and dues to some people return some trust um

[3:08]and for the people of of Mecca and then take and escort

[3:14]um the three fatimas Fatima Assad his mother fa B Hamza and

[3:18]Fatima B Muhammad the daughter of prophet Muhammad Al soam escorts them

[3:25]and then on the journey Imam is attacked fends off this attack

[3:30]fights against these people that are trying to um you know take

[3:35]them away from their path of getting back to the prophet or

[3:38]getting to the prophet and he finally arrives um with the prophet

[3:45]after the prophet had made his way into safety now as the

[3:49]story uh progresses we see the uh development of the early uh

[3:57]Society or the new community in Medina which became the new home

[4:01]of prophet Muhammad a city that was originally known as ye the

[4:04]prophet when he established this community or when he began building this

[4:08]community um he did something pretty unique which was an oath of

[4:17]Brotherhood between those who had left Mecca the mun um those who

[4:21]migrated and the ANS those who supported the prophet welcomed him in

[4:25]this new place Y which would be called Medina Medina actually being

[4:29]short for uh or the uh city of the Prophet the light

[4:37]and City so this OA Brotherhood was a uh combination of the

[4:44]prophet he was combining bringing together one of the ansar one of

[4:49]the mun one of the supporters one of the migrants together and

[4:53]it was such a beautiful scene but there was one person who

[5:00]was not paired with uh with the and that was Im aliam

[5:02]so IM aliam kind of upset um you know almost in a

[5:09]way it said in the narration almost like let down he goes

[5:11]to um the prophet and he said you know you've paed everybody

[5:18]uh with a brother but but me um you know why is

[5:23]that Prophet had said that he smiled and told IM Al yeah

[5:27]Ali there's no brother for you but me and we see these

[5:33]instances um you know repeated throughout the life of IM aliam showing

[5:38]again his his status and another way of looking at it is

[5:42]showing his his character right showing one like when you're looking at

[5:49]the situation he he believed in this Brotherhood he believed in bringing

[5:51]people together and he wanted to be a part of that and

[5:55]then showing like okay how great his character was that nobody could

[5:58]be paired with him but the prophet Muhammad Al and then the

[6:05]competence the competence of the IM you know being one of again

[6:08]constantly being tasked by the prophet for these very very you know

[6:11]important roles and responsibilities things that were like of of high risk

[6:16]things that were of you know um grave importance IM aliam was

[6:22]the person that the prophet constantly would go to and then you

[6:28]see this progressing um in the building of this community with roles

[6:33]and responsibilities that were given to the uh to the Muslims and

[6:37]you know the biggest show of that or one of the biggest

[6:39]shows of that would be um the battles that were faced by

[6:45]the Muslims which in a way were just an extension of the

[6:47]persecution that they were facing in Mecca because the pagans of quray

[6:52]the pagans of Mecca they wouldn't let so when the prophet Muhammad

[6:55]had left had escaped and the Muslims migrated they weren't just going

[6:59]to let them go not free so what happened essentially was they

[7:02]mobilized their forces they mobilized their men and they went to uh

[7:07]basically continue the persecution against the Muslims they wanted to kill the

[7:11]prophet and they wanted to be rid of this uh New Movement

[7:15]this new community so when you're looking at these these battles the

[7:20]Battle of bed the battle of the battle of uh of and

[7:23]and and all of these battles um even though some of them

[7:28]had some other groups other than the pagans of Mecca with them

[7:32]um you see this constant pushing um of we need to get

[7:38]after the prophet in each one of these battles you see that

[7:41]the person at the Forefront the person answering the prophet's call and

[7:44]the person who is considered to be the champion the hero of

[7:49]the Muslims is none other than IM aliam now even though he

[7:53]was at a very young age he was constantly the man constantly

[8:02]that person that when it was being whatever was required of that

[8:07]time of that place he was there there was no sense of

[8:13]fear there's no sense of hesitation there was a clear objective that

[8:18]was be there for the prophet honor Islam honor God and protect

[8:22]one's community and he was there and there again and again and

[8:29]again that was Ali [Music]
