[0:02][Music] in every new generation you see a shift a change in
[0:32]mentality a change in perspective or outlook on life for instance when
[0:38]you look at gen Z or even younger gen Alpha you find
[0:44]that the way they see life can be very different from the
[0:48]older Generations one of those areas in which gen Z and gen
[0:56]Alpha are seeing very differently from the previous generations is the rights
[1:04]of parents these days I'm hearing a lot of Young Voices echoing
[1:11]this mentality we know that our parents have rights on us Islam
[1:16]teaches us that after God the greatest rights on you are the
[1:20]rights of your parents but we find some Young Voices saying that
[1:27]no my parents have no right on me I did not ask
[1:32]them to bring me to this life did I ask to be
[1:35]born was I ever consulted and then what my parents I know
[1:40]they raised me and they worked hard to raise me but why
[1:45]are they acting like they've done me a favor what they wanted
[1:48]me to starve and die obviously they had to take care of
[1:53]me so what rights do my parents have on me and then
[1:59]some of them even take it to another level and will tell
[2:04]you you know what my parents when they decided to have children
[2:08]they did so for selfish reasons they wanted joy in their life
[2:13]and they brought children because without us children they would be depressed
[2:19]so in fact they are indebted to us more than we are
[2:26]indebted to them based on my experience with the younger generation I
[2:30]see that this mentality is becoming more and more widespread the negation
[2:36]of the rights of parents I did not ask them to bring
[2:42]me to this life now that they did they are responsible for
[2:44]me and they should not act like they've done me a favor
[2:49]you decided to have children you'll have to suffer the consequences don't
[2:54]come and do a favor on me and say I raised you
[3:00]I spent all those sleepless nights on you I worked so hard
[3:03]to give you a good living did anybody put a gun to
[3:08]your head and tell you to have children that was your choice
[3:11]and it's your responsibility you didn't do anyone but yourself a favor
[3:16]how do we respond to this growing mentality among the younger generation
[3:22]first of all when your parents decided to have children they were
[3:29]simply following the instruction of Allah subhana wa tala why are you
[3:34]blaming them God encouraged your parents to have children Prophet Muhammad sahu
[3:41]alaihi encourages us to have children when parents had children they were
[3:47]simply following the instructions of Allah subhah wa ta'ala there's no need
[3:51]to put any blame on parents secondly Allah subhana wa ta'ala the
[3:57]almighty God is the one who will for you to be created
[4:02]your parents did not create you Allah did Allah brought you to
[4:11]this existence and gave you the gift of Life yes he used
[4:14]your parents as a means to achieve that but he is your
[4:18]creator not your parents Allah subhana wa taala decided to assign you
[4:25]to your father and mother he brought you to existence through them
[4:30]and let's say your parents had decided not to have any children
[4:35]well obviously they would not be your parents if they did not
[4:40]have any children but just imagine your parents did not have children
[4:45]Allah subhana tala if he had willed to create you he would
[4:47]have still created you Allah would have assigned you to another family
[4:53]so don't put any blame on your parents and we have the
[5:01]beautiful example of IM hin to illustrate this point that Allah subhah
[5:05]waala he's willed for certain people to be created but who those
[5:14]people are assigned to depends on the deed of the parents on
[5:17]the Deeds of the family on the standing of that family Muhammad
[5:24]Muslim one of the companions of IM and IM he says I
[5:32]heard these two IMS say Allah subhana compensated IM Hussein because he
[5:45]sacrificed himself and he became a Shah he was willing to die
[5:47]in the way of Allah subhana tala Allah compensated him in three
[5:53]ways the first one and Allah subhah waala made the IMs from
[5:59]his Descendants the nine IMS who came after him Allah subhah waala
[6:11]placed the healing in the soil or dust of his grave and
[6:16]Allah has promised to answer your Dua and supplication if you're by
[6:20]the grave of IM Hussein now let's focus on the first one
[6:26]here Allah had decreed that there must be 12 imams Prophet Muhammad
[6:30]sallallahu alaihi mentioned the number 12 this was the will and the
[6:40]decree of God but to whom these imams are assigned to depends
[6:44]on the Deeds of their parents Allah had willed for nine imams
[6:49]to come after IM Hussein there is no doubt the number 12
[6:55]must be complete but why did Allah subhana wa ta'ala choose those
[7:00]nine IM to be the descendants of IM Hussein it was because
[7:04]of his martydom and his sacrifice because of his martydom Allah honored
[7:09]him by assigning the imams to be from his lineage and this
[7:18]basically teaches us that when Allah subhana wa ta'ala has willed for
[7:23]something it will happen we play a role in some factors which
[7:29]children God is going to assign to me which parents are going
[7:37]to be assigned to you that depends on the Deeds of the
[7:42]parents and God's knowledge of the Deeds of the children in the
[7:47]future thirdly let's not underestimate the gift of existence one of the
[7:55]greatest gifts that Allah subhana wa tala has given you if not
[7:58]the greatest gift is the gift of existence why should you blame
[8:04]your parents for having children when they became the means for you
[8:09]to taste life for you to experience existence I know that all
[8:14]of us go through difficulties and trials and there are times in
[8:18]your life when you wish you did not exist but here is
[8:23]an example to demonstrate to you the beauty of existence close your
[8:28]eyes for a moment and think of the best moment you've ever
[8:31]had in your life once I asked a group of Youth one
[8:36]of them said the best moment I can ever conceive of or
[8:41]imagine is when I get the dream car of my life and
[8:46]the keys are in my hands there's nothing better than this feeling
[8:50]another one said say when I'm very thirsty and I quench my
[8:57]thirst with cold water there's nothing better than that the Joy is
[9:02]Indescribable someone else said a sister said say it when I go
[9:07]shopping the joy of shopping is not anything that I can describe
[9:15]I just love shopping another one told me say when I go
[9:18]on the walk the spiritual Joy I get is not something I
[9:25]can ever describe yet another one said when I go to a
[9:27]theme park like Disney World Disneyland Universal Studios those moments are the
[9:35]best moments in my life imagine that moment that you truly love
[9:42]and cherish and it's the best experience you've ever had in your
[9:46]life hold on to that moment because that moment is giving you
[9:52]a glimpse of what life tastes like is there a blessing greater
[9:56]than that and this is only in this world be patient even
[9:59]if you're suffering and going through difficulties and on the day of
[10:01]judgment inallah you make it to heaven and the month of Ramadan
[10:07]is the best month to prepare yourself for heaven when you go
[10:11]to heaven what Allah subhana wa tala will allow you to experience
[10:15]cannot be compared to anything you've seen here on Earth take that
[10:20]moment that you just thought of magnify it by a million times
[10:26]and that's Heaven For Eternity can you ever blame blame your parents
[10:30]when they became the means for this great this great Mercy yes
[10:38]we are indebted to our parents and finally it is our moral
[10:45]and ethical obligation to thank the one who serves us even if
[10:49]if it's their obligation to do so I mean based on this
[10:51]mentality you shouldn't thank anyone because whoever is serving you they're doing
[10:56]their job you shouldn't thank your teachers because your teachers are doing
[11:03]their job when they teach you you shouldn't thank your city for
[11:08]keeping your city safe and clean you shouldn't thank the firefighters when
[11:12]they put the fire out because they're just doing their job based
[11:17]on this mentality we would live in a very dark world who
[11:23]would you thank them even if your parents were doing their job
[11:27]they went through so much difficulty to raise you the least we
[11:31]can do is is to show them appreciation to show them gratitude
[11:37]therefore let's not get carried away by these confusing voices on social
[11:43]media Tik Tok that tell you your parents don't have any rights
[11:51]on you after Allah subhah wa tala the prophets the IMs the
[11:55]because they are the representatives of God after them no one has
[11:59]a a greater right on you than your parents take advantage of
[12:06]this month of Ramadan to get closer to your parents the closer
[12:08]you get to them the more you serve them the more you
[12:13]make them happy the more Allah subhana wa ta'ala will open beautiful
[12:17]Pathways for you in your life the more to and success Allah
[12:20]subhana tala will grant you if there is that one golden key
[12:27]that unlocks all those successes for you all those wonders for you
[12:31]it is serving your parents being good to your parents and praying
[12:38]for your parents [Music]
