We should only narrate a hadith that comes from a legitimate source. Why? Because if it is a false hadith, we will be spreading falsehood. Hence the Imam is saying that not narrating a hadith (that was true) is better than spreading falsehood (losing a piece of the truth is safer than spreading falsehood). What about hadiths on social media? We should stick to the above guideline and only narrate a hadith that comes from a trusted source.
