Towfiq Sakhi's lecture focuses on the significance of the Holy Quran as a miraculous text. He begins by introducing the Quran as the greatest miracle of Allah across all prophets. The lecture highlights the challenge posed by the Quran to produce similar verses and emphasizes that despite collective human effort, replicating its style or content remains unattainable.
The discussion then shifts towards how the Quran challenged poets and eloquent speakers of its time, who held significant influence. Despite attempts, individuals or groups failed to match the eloquence and depth of Quranic verses. A story is shared about a renowned poet who acknowledged the uniqueness and divine nature of Prophet Muhammad's words.
Further, the lecture explores Prophet Muhammad's response to accusations when critics labeled him as a magician to dissuade people from listening to him. Towfiq Sakhi outlines five main points highlighting the miracle of the Quran, including its eloquence, high-quality content devoid of superstitions, scientific miracles, prophetic elements, and encouragement for deeper understanding through reflection.
The importance of comprehending and reflecting on the Quran while reciting and learning is emphasized throughout the lecture. Insights from specific verses, such as Sura 110, are shared, emphasizing the importance of learning and understanding the Quran for its profound discourse that can awaken and cure hearts when thoroughly comprehended.

The Muslim Group of USA and Canada proudly presents its 35th Annual Conference | Negotiating Truth in the Age of Feeling
Register today at: Conference.TheMuslimGroup.org
It is our hope that this year’s Annual Conference will embody, in spirit and letter, a modest attempt at rooting our pursuit of knowledge in the sacred foundations of Islam by examining the demands that religion places upon the faithful, and whether the truths it articulates can be ‘negotiated’ or cast-aside based upon how one ‘feels’.
Please join us, that together we might explore what it means to renovate our own selves, and with the help of God, emerge with a better understanding of the roles that faith, reason, and feeling play in meaningful religious experience.
For over a billion Muslims across the world, the House of Islam represents a tradition of multivalent beauty—a profound civilizational heritage brimming with knowledge and light that endured for centuries, only to fall into disrepair and decline, gathering dust as modernity swept in to replace it.
The crisis for Muslims is that we live in buildings that are derelict, but despite their dusty façade, these buildings still have great meaning in them. As such, our primary task is to Renovate the House of Islam—to dust it off and restore its overwhelming beauty and splendor.
To renovate is to uncover beauty, and the Islamic tradition is an elaborate telling in the unveiling of beauty. Perhaps the most compelling unveiling of that beauty came from a peerless luminary of the Islamic tradition, the quintessential exponent of the Jaʿfarī maḍhab and sixth blessed Imām, Jaʿfar ʾibn Muḥammad al-Ṣādiq (ع).
This conference will engage with spiritual and practical lessons from Jaʿfar al-Ṣādiq’s (ع) radiant legacy, leveraging the blessed Imām’s unparalleled mastery over the noble religious sciences and exalted spiritual doctrines, affirming that ours is a holistic tradition—firmly rooted in knowledge and securely anchored in Truth. We hope to uncover pearls and gems from the Imām’s wisdoms that they might adorn our hearts and inspire our purpose as we renovate the beautiful House of Islam.
