In a continuation of the series highlighting the iconic book of Nahjul Balagha, Sayed Mohammed Baqer Al-Qazwini sheds some light on the 'Sermon of The Pious', which Imam Ali (A.S.) delivered in response to a request made by his companion Hammam, who in return lost consciousness and departed this world after hearing the powerful and moving words of the Imam In this insightful analysis, we learn three different sets of qualities possessed by The Pious: - The first set focuses on their outer qualities like their targeted speech, moderation, humility, avoiding the forbidden and their greediness for beneficial knowledge. - The second emphasizes their connection and yearning for their creator, and their renouncement of this worldly life. -The final set highlights their deeply rooted faith and their unique activities in night, from Quranic recitations and the performing of night prayers with a saddened heart. ______________________________________________________________ Al-Rasoul Islamic Society | The Month of Ramadan 1437 - 2016
