There is Hadith from Imam Sadeq (a) to support this. However, not all scholars believe that submerging the head under water invalidates the fast. For instance, Ayatullah Sistani say it’s Makrouh (discouraged), but it doesn’t invalidate the fast. Sistani’s argument is that the hadith is mainly a recommendation because in the same hadith, the Imam also mentions that a person in Ihram shouldn’t submerge his head under water (and we know that this act doesn’t invalidate the Ihram).
