Why is this world so attractive for us, but Heaven isn’t?

My friends, the world entices us, right? What element of the world entices a person? Tell me, what causes us to become interested in this world and not pay attention to the Hereafter?
“Heaven doesn’t entice us, but the world does.” Answer me. “Entertainments.” There are better entertainments in Heaven. It’s accessible now, right? How many of you agree? It’s accessible now. Believe me; it would take 10 sessions for me to make it clear for you that the accessibility of the world doesn’t attract a person!
Because, each flower in the world has terrible thorns that only ruin a person’s mood. You should look at this world correctly, this accessible world. Eating causes an unpleasantness that we’re not willing to mention in the meeting. You would stop eating. You won’t enjoy sleeping, which is like dying, anymore. Don’t talk about the world being accessible. Being accessible is ineffective. “Since the Hereafter is on credit, it doesn’t attract us.” Look! It’s just us talking here. Lying has a limit. You know how young, unmarried people think about marriage. They think, “Wow! There’ll be a lot going on in the future.”
The enjoyment from our imaginings is more than the actuality. Therefore, the accessibility of the world is not attracting you. The Hereafter being on credit doesn’t push you away. What’s the problem? Remembering the world ruins us. The accessibility of the world doesn’t ruin us! Its memory ruins us. Remembering the accessible world makes us interested in it. Will we become interested in the Hereafter without remembering it?!
Make remembering the Hereafter a part of your life. Then, see if the accessible world affects you. I swear, it won’t have an effect. What should we do to remember the Hereafter more? Imam Baqir (‘a) said, “Recite at least 50 verses of the Qur’an every day. Recite it at 14 different times, don’t recite it once and put it aside.” Basically, the Qur’an is a book, which reminds of the Hereafter. It takes a person to Heaven or Hell in each moment, and brings him or her back.
What causes us to keep our distance from the Hereafter? Not remembering it. The Qur’an is the best program. Remembering the world ruins us. Make remembering the Hereafter a part of your life. Then, see if the accessible world affects you. I swear, it won’t have an effect.

Films help people experience things they don’t usually experience.

The cinema is more useful than giving a speech for religion. The Holy Prophet (s) said, “Invite people with tools other than your tongue.” Don’t invite people with your tongue. Invite them with your behavior. Behavior can be shown in the cinema. We say many things in speeches, but we are upset that no films have been made about these things. If a film had been made, it could have conveyed the message of ten days of speeches.
Interviewer, “That’s an interesting point!”
We believe the cinema is something for religion. Although, the majority of films in the history of the cinema may not have been in the interest of religion. This mistake has taken place. I think in the future, the cinema will be much more religious.
Interviewer, “So you consider the cinema to be something for religion?”
Films are a tool for conveying messages that cannot easily be conveyed in words. And religion needs films more. The cinema is more useful for religion than it is for other things. The cinema helps people experience things they don’t usually experience. The cinema shouldn’t show those experiences that everyone has experienced.
Interviewer, “What I’ve often heard some people saying is that the cinema is a technology coming from the west! And there is no need for…”
I do not accept this view. Before being the product of western technology and culture, with all its weak points, it is the result of human beings’ wisdom, thought and need. Human beings are seekers.«یُرِیدُ الْإِنْسَانُ لِیَفْجُرَ أَمَامَهُ» [Qur’an 75:5]
He wants to remove the screens blocking his eyes. He wants to do this with the cinema screen. The cinema can be a window to the world around us that we don’t have access to. The fact that this window is being abused by many is another matter. So the nature of cinema can be very religious. It can serve religion very much. We expect a film, a TV serial and other such things to show some truths to people to speed up their movement on the path of growth in life. We expect the cinema to serve not just religion, but to serve human beings much more than this.
This is doable without discussing religious matters or showing pictures of the domes of the shrines. This is doable without a movie being directly religious or being about the Friends of God or historical religious figures. This is doable without making a movie about a Mosque and the place for praying. The cinema can help human beings grow very much.

A Hundred Times More Affectionate

God divided affection into 100 parts. He kept 99 parts for Himself and gave one part to people. He divided that one part into 100 pieces and gave 99 parts of it to the “Guardians.” He gave one part to all the people who are living together affectionately. For example, affectionate people are mothers towards their children.
We sometimes become worried for a mother whose child, for example, has been killed or tortured in front of her. If such a story gets into the news or social media today, the entire world will discuss it. They say, “See how brutally they have killed a child in front of his or her mother.”
How much does a mother love her child? How much does the Imam of the Time (‘a.j.) love his nation? It is obvious that they can’t be compared. So aren’t the massacres that happen in the world sorrowful for the Imam? Those who cry for the absence and loneliness of the Imam of the Time (‘a.j.) haven’t done anything special. This is very natural. Because they are crying for a heart, which is full of sympathy. It is full of sympathy for even all the mothers of the world. They cry for the heart, which is broken.
The affection of the Imam for one person is 100 times more than the affection of a mother for her beloved child. If a tragedy or oppression happens in a corner of the world, isn’t this a huge incident for that kind heart? If a person is not so selfish, he’ll see it’s more important than our own concerns. More important than all the concerns I have in my life, are his concerns. There is no news more important than the news about the Imam of the Time (‘a.j.) in the world. There is no sorrow above the sorrow of Sayyid al-Shuhada (‘a) in this world for a person to care about.
Some people’s love for the “Guardians from God” has reached to where all their concerns are them. Their concern is, “What situation are the ‘Friends of God’ in now?” The reappearance of the Imam of the Time (‘a.j.) has been realized in some people’s hearts. The Imam governs their hearts. Here we should say, “Hazrat Mahdi (‘a.j.) has appeared in our hearts. “
Some people’s love for the “Guardians from God” has reached to where all their concerns are them.
[From the series of speeches under the topic of “The Month of Ramadan, the month of hope for the reappearance of Imam Mahdi (‘a.j.).” ‘A Commentary on the Iftitah Invocation.’]

You have the greatest blessing and that is Aba Abdillah al-Husayn (as). Don’t miss this blessing. During this Muharram, keep circling around Aba Abdillah al-Husayn (as). Passionately ask, “God, how can I thank You? I cry for Husayn (as), the son of Fatimah (s), like a mother who has lost her child! I’m burning. I love him. How can I thank You?”
Thank God during these ten days. Prostrate before God to thank Him, one time. Say, “God, I thank You that You granted me [the love of] Husayn (as).” You have cried many times during your lifetime. The traditions say, “A tear [for Imam Husayn (as)] takes a person to Heaven, one tear!” Be very thankful about Aba Abdillah al-Husayn (as). This is not a small blessing. Don’t underestimate the blessing of loving Aba Abdillah al-Husayn (as).

My friends, if one has a sincere intention, God will not wait for his action. God will not wait to test him. I know this that I’m saying it. Sincerely say, “God, I want You!” He won’t wait to see what you do tomorrow. He’ll start [your growth] if He sees you are sincere.
We were returning from a speech with two people who later became martyrs. Going they were very cheerful, but returning they were quiet. I asked them, “What’s the matter?” They said, “You ruined our mood with your talk. Why aren’t we going to the front this time?” I said, “Ok, so let’s go.” We were on leave. They had come before, but not at this time. They said, “We’re afraid.” It happens. “Tell this to God.” “You’re right.” I said, “Tell God you’d like to come but you’re afraid; your feeling will change tomorrow.” The next day they were both on the train! “You’ve come!?” “Yup!” Happy and laughing! “What happened? You said you’re afraid.” “I don’t know.”
You think God can’t change your heart? Sincerely say, “I’m afraid, but I don’t want to be afraid.” God says, “Be sincere and I will show you My divine strength. I will change you. Be truthful. I will put all that’s good in your heart. Tell me you are incapable, and I will be your strength.” Sincerely say, “God, I want You!” He won’t wait to see what you do tomorrow. He’ll start [your growth] if He sees you are sincere.

If you want to take action due to your likings, you can do this in two ways, with bitterness or sweetness. Worshiping, doing good deeds, and servitude are very good, but they can be bitter or sweet. What’s a bitter liking? I try to be God’s servant so that maybe He will love me. I participate in Lady Zahra’s (as) ceremony for elegies so that perhaps the Commander of the Faithful, Ali (as), will look at me.
Now, what’s a sweet affection? I want to respond to the kindness of the Commander of the Faithful, Ali (as). They have said that the Imam loves us. If I don’t participate in these ceremonies, the Imam will be alone. The Imam will say, “He/she didn’t come.” I swear I’m not making these up from myself. “O you who believe! Whoever from among you turns back from his religion, then Allah will bring a people, He shall love them and they shall love Him.” [Qur’an 5:54] The people mentioned in this verse are Ali bin Abi Talib’s (as) Shi’a. How will these people be? “He shall love them and they shall love Him.” God first talks about His own love then He talks about their love. I participate in a ceremony for reading elegies. Why? Because the Imam of the Time (aj) doesn’t have anyone except us. He loves me and he wants me to participate in his gathering. O Ibn al-Hasan [Imam Mahdi (aj)] we can’t stop ourselves from coming because you love us very much.
If someone in a person’s intimate family passes away, and you are a close friend of that person in mourning, what will you do? You say, “We’re friends. [I must go to their ceremony.]” If you don’t go, you’ll feel ashamed. But what does Satan tell us? He says, “How do you know the Imam loves you?” Stand up to him firmly. Don’t think he’s talking truthfully. Satan says, “How do you know the Imam loves you? Who are you that the Imam would love you?!” In appearances he’s saying good, spiritual words. But stand up to him. Say, “I know the Imam loves me. It’s true I don’t have a high, spiritual status. But he has let me participate in his ceremonies my whole life. He has liked me with all my evilness or he wouldn’t have let me come.”
[Satan says,] “You’re not a good person!” Say, “I’m not a good person, but my Imam is very good.” Don’t say, “I go toward God since I love Him.” Say, “God loves me, so I go toward Him. I can’t not go. I’m indebted because of His affection and I have to go.” I participate in a mourning ceremony. Why? Imam Mahdi (Aj) doesn’t have any friends except us. He loves me. He expects me to participate in his meeting. O Ibn al-Hasan, we can’t stop ourselves from coming because you love us very much.

How true is all this about COVID-19?

The educational process of our religion takes us from looking superficially at things to looking deeply. Our religion can turn a religious person into a person who looks at the overall picture. Actually, those who want to enslave human beings prefer that people not look at the overall picture.
Now with Corona, people who are more sensitive are investigating to see who is benefiting from Corona. Maybe some people have designed this situation!? Many people may not have reached a clear answer, but this sensitivity is beneficial. Maybe they are keeping us busy with these protocols, and maybe there should be other protocols.
This sensitivity and questioning is beneficial in itself. It shows we can look from above, and we should do this. God forbid, maybe some people want to remove great numbers of people so that the aggressive powers can live more comfortably! There were widespread social movements against oppression throughout the world before it. These deserve questioning. People who look from above see the oppressors who are designing other people’s lives. They sometimes understand their plans and say things that are thought-provoking.
There was a group talking, and it was said that some people want to eliminate great numbers of people from the world. Then someone in the group asked, "If such people are the leaders of the US, the Zionist regime, or the domineering powers for example, the American people are being killed too." I was very surprised by this question. In fact, those who run the world don’t care whether it’s American, Iranian, or other people. In general, they want to reduce the number of people.
This theory that Corona is a conspiracy against humanity designed by global powers, for example for the benefit of insurance companies or anything else, I do not want to support this theory. But it isn’t good to ignore this theory. People paying too much attention to the details of the virus and abandoning the broader view is harmful for human life. Our investigations may not give quick results. Was the Corona virus man-made or not? Who benefits from it? Is it a biological war against humanity to remove great numbers without a commotion or using artillery? We may not come to an exact answer, but this discussion is beneficial. It pushes people to look from above.
I said this as an example, although it is our problem today too. We should look at every issue in this way. Especially when we want to plan for society. This sensitivity and this question are beneficial in themselves. It shows we can look from above, and we should do this.
