المستبصر الدكتور مصباح أمين الدريني زار سماحة آية الله السيد علي الحسيني الميلاني (حفظه الله) وتبادل الجانبان الحديث.
الجدير بالذكر الدكتور مصباح أمين الدريني كان أحد شيوخ الأزهر وواحداً من كبار علماء المذهب السني وتتلمذ على يده كبار قادة الإخوان المسلمين.
أعلن الشيخ تشيّعه عن عمر ناهز الثلاث وسبعون عاماً بعد بحث ودراسة لمدة أربع سنوات.
عمل الدكتور الدريني كداعية لمدة أربعون عاماً في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية ـ كاليفورنيا، حيث افتتح الكثير من المراكز والمساجد.
قال الشيخ مصباح حين دخل حرم أمير المؤمنين عليه السلام وقد إغرورقت عيناه بالدموع «أريد أن أبقى إلى جوار علي ابن أبي طالب عليه السلام».
بعد زيارة العتبة العلوية المقدسة والروضة الحسينية المقدسة سافر الشيخ مصباح أمين الدريني إلى إيران والتقى بسماحة آية الله السيد علي الحسيني الميلاني.
