The Imam was asked whether the people are excused from not asking (i.e. being ignorant). The Imam said that their ignorance is not excused. Isn’t this unfair? Why would Allah hold them accountable for things they weren’t aware of? In society, we have civil laws. If someone breaks a civil law and they weren’t aware of it, are they excused? So, should we be excused for not asking religious laws? Why do we respect man-made laws but don’t respect divine rules?

The Imam teaches us: don’t think that to become a successful Muslim then you should isolate yourself. Islam doesn’t believe in isolation. You should implement the knowledge you have learned by interacting with society. Otherwise, you are not worshipping God the way He wants you to.
