The greatest of wars is that which is waged against the low desires of our carnal soul so has our prophet said. No true victory can be attained over the external enemies, before we have not vanquished our internal foes. These are the carnal desires and passions of our soul. This is a good lesson to be taken by those who want to tread the path of spiritual and physical evolution and development.

Servitude of Bibi Ummul Baneen (S.A) towards Ahlulbayt (A.S) explained by Sheikh Mohammed Abbas Panju [ENG SUBS] - 2016 (Wafaat Ummul Baneen 1437)

Condolences on the death anniversary of Hazrat Bibi Ummul Baneen Al Arbah. Lady Ummul Baneen’s name was Fatima; however, upon her arrival in Imam Ali’s household, she requested that everyone call her Ummul Baneen so that she would not remind them of the daughter of the Prophet and upset them.

Despite being a young bride who undoubtedly had dreams and aspirations of her own, she instead insisted on being a mere servant to the orphans of Lady Fatima Zahra. In turn, the children treated her with great respect and love, referring to her as their own mother. This presents an example of sacrifices individuals on both ends should be willing to commit when it comes to re-marriages and becoming part of an already-established family. Ummul Baneen translates to “Mother of Her Sons”, a fitting title since Lady Ummul Baneen and Imam Ali had four sons: Usman, Ja’far, Abdullah, and Abul Fadhl al-Abbas, the Gateway to the Acceptance of Desires and the Moon of Bani Hashim (peace be upon them all).

Sheikh Jafar was such a gifted speaker and his sermons were so emotional that they attracted thousands. The number of attendees grew so much that Marvi Mosque could not fit the crowd anymore. With the suggestion of Naser al-Din Shah Qajar, he moved to Sepahsalar Mosque, and according to one of his students, 40,000 people attended his sermons. His sermons were so emotional, that often even clerics in the audience started weeping. Many have reported that Nasser Al-Din Shah Qajar himself was often coming to his sermons in an anonymous outfit.

What is considerably noticeable in the mystical thoughts of Imam Khomeini is his placing importance on young age as a starting point for self-development and self-purification. According to him, the older a person becomes, the firmer and more deep-rooted false beliefs and evil deeds become, and the more difficult it is to rectify them. In addition, unlike young age, man's willpower, like other mental powers, weakens with old age, making the spiritual struggle harder. Hence, in this short excerpt video of Imam Khomeini, he highlights the significance of self-refinement (self-purification) over knowledge and how one must prioritise self-purification over everything.

Dua Hazeen & excerpt of Hadith Al-Qudsi - Sayed Ahmad Mousawi - دعاء حزين سيد أحمد الموسوي
English and Urdu translation

This supplication is called Dua Hazeen, the "sorrowful supplication." It should be recited softly and sorrowfully. This supplication can be recited after Salaatul Layl (Night Prayer).

After the recitation of this Dua, Sayed Ahmad al-Mousawi recited a few lines from Hadith al-Qudsi, an emotional and heart-breaking words of Allah to "son of Adam" (which is us).

The Whispered Prayers, is a collection of 15 intimate conversations with Allah SWT and the 15 Whispered Prayers are extracted from the book of Imam Zainul Abideen A.S - known as Sahifa Sajjadiya, also known famously as the Psalms of Islam.

Munajaat means "talking" or "having a conversation". In this case, it is the intimate conversations of our Imam with his Lord. Conversing with God regularly is true spirituality, and these conversations between Imam Sajjad (as) and God will really open our eyes. Again, there are conversations for different spiritual
states, such as being fearful, hopeful and thankful. Conversing with Allah according to our current spiritual state will only serve to enhance our relationship with him. (al-islam.org)

The prayers start with 'repentance', as repentance is the first step towards a genuine communion with God.
