[0:13]m all right last week we were talking about uh verse 59

[0:40]of Surah and we were looking at a narration in uh one

[0:45]of the books of the book in which he mentions the uh

[0:57]the names of the IM was in the ation by he says

[1:03]that he heard saying the following he asked about we know Allah

[1:16]and we know his messenger or we have known Allah and his

[1:20]messenger but who are who are these people the people of authority

[1:26]that Allah subhana wa ta'ala mentioned when he said so the prophet

[1:35]told him that these were the imams who would come after him

[1:41]the imams who would succeed him and they are his calips the

[1:46]Cals of and he mentioned them one by one until he got

[1:53]to today inshallah we're going to continue where we left off to

[1:59]hear what the prophet said regarding the last IM the last luminary

[2:11]let me just send you the tradition once again in case someone

[2:18]does not have it okay I sent it to you this is

[2:47]by the way part of the narration it's a long narration and

[2:54]realize that this is one of the narrations indicating that did not

[3:02]only talk about did not only mention to the Muslims who would

[3:09]be his direct successor that's a given he mentioned that his direct

[3:14]successor was alali but on top of that he mentioned the 12

[3:20]IMS in multiple instances he mentioned them and mentioned them by name

[3:25]so after mentioning the 11th IM he says then the IM after

[3:36]alassan will be the one who holds my name and the one

[3:40]who holds my Subhan Allah refers to him in this manner instead

[3:47]of actually saying the name of which reminds us that uh during

[4:01]the sh were told not to mention the IM by name during

[4:07]and perhaps this command which came from also pertains to perhaps I

[4:18]say hence you find that our usually do not refer to IM

[4:23]the 12th IM by name yes sometimes we mention his name for

[4:30]specific reason for example we're teaching someone the names of the IMs

[4:36]right we're displaying our belief in regards to who are the imams

[4:44]after but in general you'll find that the do not mention him

[4:49]by me they say right so the prophet does the same here

[5:07]he says means a person who holds my name the name of

[5:11]the Prophet was what Muhammad s the one who holds my he

[5:24]is or he will be for us we say he is because

[5:28]he's in our era he is the proof of Allah on his

[5:36]Earth and he is the remainder of Allah that's the literal translation

[5:42]of right the meaning of or one of its meanings is the

[5:52]remainder of Allah's proofs bear in mind that sometimes the name Allah

[6:06]subhah wa ta'ala is used but when we're using his name we're

[6:11]using it in reference of something that pertains to Allah subhanahu waala

[6:21]and that thing will be known based on the context the context

[6:26]of the narration or the Dua or the word in which Allah's

[6:29]name is mentioned for example for example if I say I ran

[6:46]away from Allah to Allah what does that mean you'll find that

[6:51]kind of um word maybe not the exact wording but something that

[6:58]gives the same message in the DU of how do you run

[7:03]away from Allah to Allah you're running away from the same God

[7:06]to the same God and if that's the case then I mean

[7:10]why run away from him you're going to him right so what's

[7:14]the meaning here yes running away from his punishment to his mercy

[7:25]so here there's something we call there's a word that we we

[7:32]assume is present but it's hidden it's it's hidden we understand that

[7:39]word from the context of the word that we're saying so it's

[7:46]as if we're saying but the word and the word are omitted

[7:57]so you say or I ran away from Allah to Allah so

[8:13]here when it says he is the remainder of Allah one might

[8:18]say look at this look at these sh you know they're saying

[8:24]is part of Allah no take it easy take it easy we

[8:29]don't believe that Allah subhana wa tala is composed of parts we

[8:32]believe Allah T is indivisible in fact our belief in Allah subhana

[8:37]wa ta'ala is the perfect belief you will not find a group

[8:44]of people who have such a a pure belief in Allah subhanahu

[8:47]waala similar to the belief of the sh we have the purest

[8:54]belief regarding Allah so we believe he's indivisible that he has no

[9:01]parts but when the says or he is what is meant is

[9:12]that he is the remainder of Allah's proofs here the word is

[9:16]omitted it's present but it's hidden make sense he is the son

[9:37]of Hassan and the son of Ali so Hassan will have a

[9:42]son the prophet is confirming Hassan the second Hassan the 11th Imam

[9:47]will have a son even if you don't see him meaning if

[9:49]you're living in the era of alar and for some reason he

[9:55]doesn't show you his son know that he does have a son

[10:00]or will have a son yes this might be circular okay but

[10:04]let's say we're living in the time of okay or let's say

[10:09]we're living in just the days after and we haven't seen his

[10:12]son now do we say that this Hadith that reached us is

[10:17]fabricated or do we say that he has a son like how

[10:20]how do we reach a from this Hadith yeah either I mean

[10:24]there's only two conclusions right either alass has a son or this

[10:30]fabric okay okay so which conclusion do we reach and how do

[10:33]we obviously we reach the conclusion that he does have a son

[10:36]right and this is one of the proofs the Hadith so if

[10:41]if someone was in doubt whether the Hadith was right or wrong

[10:45]he'll have to do more investigation more investigation speak to the uh

[10:53]see what other said yeah for example the Hadith about the 12

[11:00]imams where do those go right the prophet said there will be

[11:04]12 imams after him and the number 12 is agreed upon right

[11:10]now we have when we look at Islamic narrations some narrations say

[11:14]there will be 12s caretakers someth say 12s some say 12 IMS

[11:22]some say 12 Amir commanders or princes right but the number 12

[11:31]is agreed upon and we understand from all of these that there

[11:35]are 12 mysterious and special people who succeed make sense so if

[11:44]I was living in the era of and passed away and he

[11:49]had not shown me his son for some reason because we know

[11:52]showed his son to certain people but not to everyone and I

[11:56]was in doubt now what is gone uh but I found this

[12:05]Hadith if this Hadith was not enough for me I'd have to

[12:06]do more investigation and here I'd have to refer to the scholars

[12:14]who were very close to to um so that they may guide

[12:20]me one of them being first Deputy of had said to the

[12:31]people that is is someone that you can depend on and in

[12:34]fact when conveys a message when he tells you for example this

[12:42]is part of Islam imar had made a comment and IM had

[12:48]also made a comment indicating that if man tells you this it's

[12:51]as if they're telling you that word which is amazing right for

[12:55]someone to reach that level where if he says something as if

[12:59]the Imam is saying it right this is this means the man

[13:05]was highly reliable right yes yes I when we went the where

[13:17]prop mentions the the names of the 11 he only gives a

[13:24]to and okay he just mentions the name okay do we know

[13:33]why specifically just for those I can't say why no I'm not

[13:39]sure um I'll do some thinking and see if I can come

[13:46]out with with with something yeah yeah it is unknown it's Unown

[14:00]know yeah what heard from one of our Scholars is it's possible

[14:04]that he has an offspring at the moment and it's possible that

[14:14]he doesn't um but it seems from the Hadi that after his

[14:17]reappearance he will have he will have descendants he will have children

[14:24]all right going back to the Hadith the the the answer to

[14:31]your question is is clear any other questions no okay going back

[14:36]to the Hadith he says now he gives more descriptions regarding so

[14:51]he says he is the one through which Allah subhana wa tal

[14:55]will spread Islam to the East and the West meaning Islam will

[15:05]overwhelm the whole globe and it uh and and the Earth will

[15:10]be uh dominated by he is the one who will go into

[15:30]a state of occultation into a state of hiding such that his

[15:37]sh his followers and his aah his close followers or companions will

[15:42]will not see him or will not meet him we said more

[15:50]than once that the of the IM means what it means that

[15:54]we don't know where he's located and it means that if we

[15:57]were to see him most likely or in many cases we would

[16:02]not recognize him that is the meaning of this does not mean

[16:07]that you cannot meet him at all no in some cases the

[16:11]IM did meet people in Al but in many of those cases

[16:17]the person that he would meet that person the person who would

[16:19]meet would realize that he is or that that he is after

[16:26]the meeting would end and after the IM is gone he realize

[16:30]he'd remember what happened and then he'd realized that this must be

[16:36]so meeting the IM during is possible if the IM wants to

[16:42]meet you he'll meet you if the IM wants to be close

[16:46]to you he'll be close to you but because he's in we're

[16:51]unable to meet him whenever we want we're unable to send him

[16:56]a message or to to call him whenever we want that is

[16:59]the meaning of number one the location is unknown and number two

[17:04]if we were to see him most likely or in many cases

[17:08]we would not recognize him so so the the prophet sallallahu alai

[17:14]confirms says he will go into a state of occultation what will

[17:20]happen in that he said in that no one will continue to

[17:34]believe in the IM of except for a person whose heart was

[17:39]tested by Allah subhah wa tala meaning Allah puts that person's heart

[17:52]meaning his soul he puts that person's soul through a test so

[17:57]that the person um so that the person holds IM holds Faith

[18:23]T of would be separate individual both they could be both yeah

[18:31]they could be both here to understand this this had more we'll

[18:38]have to go to a verse in next week inshallah I'll um

[18:47]we'll shed light on a verse inat that speaks about uh this

[18:54]issue the test of the hearts or the test of the souls

[18:59]but what we want to say today is this part of the

[19:05]Hadith indicates that in Allah subhana waala will test the people all

[19:13]right the real Believers those who continue to believe in Allah will

[19:22]put them through uh trials or say different kinds of Trials and

[19:28]these trials will help them Ascend will help them Ascend and reach

[19:34]higher levels in the eyes of Allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala so they will

[19:45]pass their trials sometimes you're put through a test but you fail

[19:51]the test right you fail it now if you fail a particular

[19:54]test it doesn't necessarily mean that you're going to Hellfire why because

[20:00]after you fail you might pass other tests and you might repent

[20:04]from the mistake or the sin that you fell into for example

[20:09]every day we're tested with each is a test a person one

[20:20]day God forbid might fail the test of he wakes up goes

[20:23]back to sleep and then the prayer becomes he failed that specific

[20:27]test does that he's done for going to if he repents he

[20:34]won't go toam right sometimes we're tested through desire you go through

[20:40]a certain situation you have the you know the urge of doing

[20:43]something wrong and you do it does that mean Kal you're done

[20:48]for no you can repent makes sense so we Allah puts us

[20:52]through various kinds of tests in especially during the of the if

[21:00]we fail one of these tasks it doesn't mean that we're going

[21:03]to Hellfire if we repent and we fix our mistakes or if

[21:08]and we and we fix our mistakes then no we'll we'll be

[21:11]in heaven inshallah subhanahu waala now when the prophet says we understand

[21:20]from this word that these believers who continue to believe in they

[21:26]ultimately pass their test and as a result they get to a

[21:38]point where where they become uh True Believers believers who have faith

[21:45]that is constant faith that will that will not um that will

[21:52]not fade away reaching that point the point where where you've acquired

[22:08]faith that is constant faith that will will will not fade away

[22:13]needs what it needs practice needs practice so Allah he puts these

[22:26]people through tests and puts us through tests so that we pass

[22:30]the test and reach that point so he's basically TR training us

[22:44]to reach higher higher levels in the eyes of Allah subhanahu wa

[22:53]taala it's similar we'll give one example before we conclude the class

[22:59]it's similar to someone mean who wants to participate in the Olympics

[23:06]right if you want to participate in the Olympics you have to

[23:10]do a lot of training J if you simply know how to

[23:16]run that's not enough to participate in the Olympics correct if you

[23:20]simply know how to swim that's not enough La you have to

[23:23]be an athlete who's highly trained correct order to participate in the

[23:29]Olympics so you have to train and train and train until you

[23:34]get to that point but Allah T trains me and you and

[23:39]all of us through these through the tasks of so that we

[23:43]we reach this point have we reached it we hope so perhaps

[23:47]we have perhaps we haven't but the prophet says so we ask

[23:55]Allah to be from those who pass their test and get to

[24:02]that level level in which turn their backs on their IM next
