[1:33]respected brothers and sisters if we look at the world around us
[1:44]we would notice that this world is filled with evil it's plagued
[1:50]with tyranny and oppression and suffering everywhere you look there is suffering
[1:57]look at the wars that exist today in this world and the
[2:01]destruction and suffering that they leave look at the natural disasters that's
[2:06]happening and we see the destruction and the suffering that they cause
[2:11]look at the diseases and the sicknesses that have spread and our
[2:16]daily problems all of which cause so much suffering to the human
[2:21]being so this world as we see it now it is filled
[2:25]with suffering and this widespread suffering that we see in the world
[2:30]it may lead to one of two problems the first problem that
[2:36]it may lead to is atheism many individuals they stop believing in
[2:42]allah they reject the existence of allah they deny his existence simply
[2:48]because of the suffering that they see they will lose a loved
[2:52]one when they were young his mother dies her brother dies or
[2:57]one of their loved ones will be afflicted with a fatal disease
[3:02]or they will have a very very difficult disease that they have
[3:05]to cope with like cancer or or some other illness and thus
[3:11]they feel angry that if there is a god why does he
[3:15]allow the suffering to happen why doesn't he stop this and because
[3:19]of this rage and anger that they have they translate it into
[3:23]what into atheism they reject allah i don't understand why allah allows
[3:28]me or my family members or friends to suffer and because they
[3:31]don't understand why they're suffering then they reject allah and that's why
[3:37]today the main cause of atheism today is what is the problem
[3:42]of evil is suffering because people can understand why allah allows suffering
[3:47]they reject him it's not because of intellectual reasons it's not because
[3:52]of scientific reasons most people become atheists there is lots of scientific
[3:56]proof and evidence to prove the existence of the almighty allah it's
[4:01]the emotional reason the emotional obstacle that how can i believe in
[4:05]a god that allows me to suffer allah should be merciful since
[4:10]he allows me to suffer that means there is no god so
[4:13]one problem that suffering leads to today in our societies is atheism
[4:17]they reject allah because there is suffering why doesn't he stop it
[4:22]another problem that suffering may lead to is suicide every forty seconds
[4:30]in this world if you read the statistics about suicide every forty
[4:36]seconds in this world someone commits suicide every forty seconds so on
[4:41]an entire day an entire day twenty four hour day more than
[4:46]two thousand one hundred sixty people commit suicide every single day every
[4:52]day more than two thousand people commit suicide why why are all
[4:56]these people committing suicide why because they're suffering because you find most
[5:02]individuals that commit suicide they have depression they have severe depression and
[5:10]they can no longer cope with this depression they decide to take
[5:13]their life they commit suicide now what triggered that depression usually it's
[5:18]suffering this person this man this woman they suffered for example they
[5:23]were bullied in the school in the university in the society they
[5:28]were bullied they become depressed they want to take their life they
[5:31]lose a loved one they become depressed they can't cope with it
[5:35]they commit suicide or you find his girlfriend dumps him this happens
[5:39]many times his girlfriend dumps him leaves him cheats on him and
[5:43]thus he gets so depressed he commits suicide so the point is
[5:47]suffering because of suffering some people have severe depression and then ultimately
[5:52]they commit suicide so suffering today it causes one of these two
[5:57]bad problems either it leads some people to atheism or it will
[6:01]lead others to committing suicide the reason why many people they commit
[6:06]suicide or they become atheists because of suffering is because they have
[6:11]a misconception they have misunderstood one very important point and that is
[6:17]their misconception is that they see suffering as all negative they see
[6:23]it as punishment from allah when someone sees that he is suffering
[6:28]he thinks that allah is punishing him he thinks allah doesn't like
[6:33]him allah hates him allah doesn't love him and that's why many
[6:37]human beings their first instinct when they suffer what do they ask
[6:41]why me you allah so they're assuming that allah hates them allah
[6:46]is punishing them and thus they ask why me why punish me
[6:49]punish someone else i'm a good person why are you punishing me
[6:53]so thus they have the anger rage they reject allah so the
[6:57]problem with these people that reject allah is they have they seen
[7:02]suffering as always negative as it's a punishment as if it's a
[7:06]punishment from allah and allah hates them and those individuals that commit
[7:10]suicide why do they commit suicide because they lose hope feel forsaken
[7:15]they feel like nobody cares about them and it's no longer worth
[7:18]living in this dunya they can't they can't cope with the with
[7:22]the depression they have the suffering that they have and that's why
[7:24]they commit suicide tonight my friend i want to give you a
[7:29]new perspective about suffering so that one sees that they're instead of
[7:33]rejecting allah after suffering one has to embrace allah one has to
[7:39]embrace allah and accept the will of allah not reject him so
[7:44]that once we understand this new perspective the human being realizes that
[7:50]once he feels depressed and he feels the suffering is too great
[7:55]he will realize that it's worth living that he should feel no
[7:59]need to take his life he's not forgotten he's not forsaken no
[8:03]so i want to change this perspective that we human beings have
[8:07]about suffering and i will mention my friends three points three points
[8:12]that we need to keep in mind in order for us to
[8:16]understand suffering in the right way why does allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
[8:21]allow suffering and what are the benefits of suffering and these three
[8:26]points they will greatly they will greatly help the human being in
[8:30]coping with his depression with his problems with his suffering so that
[8:34]once he suffers once he has the depression once he sees that
[8:39]he doesn't doesn't want to live in this world anymore he will
[8:43]think again and say no you know what it's worth it's worth
[8:47]having patience he'll find the determination and the resilience to be patient
[8:53]and to endure all of the problems and the suffering he has
[8:57]after we understand these three important points the first point that we
[9:02]have to keep in mind when it comes to suffering is that
[9:05]there is no such thing as a problem free life in the
[9:09]sunnih there is no human being that has no problems certain human
[9:14]beings they think they're the only ones that allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
[9:17]allows them to suffer and that's why they say why me why
[9:21]not my neighbor why not my friend no my brother no my
[9:24]sister allah subhanahu wa ta'ala he allows suffering to afflict everyone every
[9:30]human being will suffer in this dunya every human being will have
[9:34]problems so it's not a problem that's specific to me or to
[9:38]my people or to one nation or another no every human being
[9:42]will suffer in this dunya in one beautiful tradition the fourth imam
[9:48]ali ibn al hussein he told one of his companions he told
[9:54]him don't ask allah don't ask allah to give you something that
[9:59]he has not created so his companion he asked the imam what
[10:03]are you talking about what do you mean what did i ask
[10:06]that allah has not created the imam told him don't ask for
[10:10]arraha don't ask for comforts in the dunya because allah did not
[10:15]create comforts in the dunya he created it in the akhirah in
[10:19]the next life comfort is for the heaven that's where allah created
[10:23]it he did not create comfort in the dunya so don't ask
[10:27]for it because it's not there you won't find it allah placed
[10:30]it in the akhirah people search for it in the dunya but
[10:33]they will never find it because it's not there it doesn't exist
[10:37]allah has not created it so this is a very important point
[10:41]that we have to put in mind that this dunya in this
[10:44]world that we live in there is no such thing as comfort
[10:47]allah did not create comfort for us in this world comfort is
[10:50]for the next life this life allah why did he bring us
[10:55]to test us and that's why in another beautiful hadith amir al
[10:58]mumineen he heard someone one day do a dua that person said
[11:03]allah i seek refuge in you from fitna from problems from being
[11:12]tried from difficulties from hardships i seek refuge in you from that
[11:17]i don't want any difficulties hardships and problems in life amir al
[11:21]mumineen he told him this is the wrong dua don't do this
[11:25]type of dua allah won't answer your dua he said every human
[11:33]being will be tried every human being will have hardships every human
[11:38]being will have difficulties so don't ask allah that you don't want
[11:42]difficulties it's not going to happen he's not going to answer you
[11:45]because every human being will have hardships this is a part of
[11:48]life the imam told him this is how you do dua say
[11:53]this allah i seek refuge in you from the fitnaz from the
[12:01]trials that take me away from allah so tell don't tell allah
[12:06]don't try me tell allah don't try me in a way in
[12:09]which my iman is weakened don't try me in a way in
[12:14]which i am far from you don't you allah bring difficulties upon
[12:19]me which make my iman weaker these are the difficulties that we
[12:23]should ask allah to what divert from us not all difficulties only
[12:27]the difficulties that weaken our iman yes say tell allah i ask
[12:33]you to keep away those difficulties away from me because sometimes when
[12:36]the human being suffers sometimes when the human being is under difficulty
[12:40]he goes far from allah to an extent that he rejects him
[12:44]so i ask you you allah to give me to give me
[12:49]vulnerability to give me power the ability that i am what that
[12:54]i am strong in front of difficulties and i am not faced
[12:57]with difficulties that weaken my iman in another hadith it says that
[13:03]the imam the same story he answered him in another way also
[13:06]a beautiful way the imam he told that man who said allah
[13:09]i don't want fitna i don't want to be tried the imam
[13:14]told him this beautiful these beautiful words he told him he told
[13:27]him he says when you the imam told him when you are
[13:34]telling allah i don't want any problems i don't want any difficulties
[13:39]you're asking allah not to give you money or children why the
[13:44]imam said because allah says in the holy quran your children are
[13:50]fitnah your money is fitnah when you say allah i don't want
[13:53]fitnah in essence you're asking allah to not give you money or
[13:57]children why because allah subhanahu wa ta'ala when he says your money
[14:00]and your children are fitna he means that allah will try you
[14:04]even through your money through your children yes the point that the
[14:08]imam is highlighting in this hadith is that the very things that
[14:12]make the human being happy the things that he always wants and
[14:16]he thinks will make him happy those things can be a curse
[14:20]on the human being they can bring him suffering they can stress
[14:24]him out how many parents yes we all love children but how
[14:27]many parents do they have such a hard time with their children
[14:31]they struggle so much with their children their children cause so much
[14:34]problems for their parents correct they embarrass them in the society every
[14:39]day they have a scandal they call them from the school the
[14:43]parents your child did this today we found drugs with him some
[14:46]parents they come say tell me i can't sleep because of what
[14:49]my son or daughter is doing they go into drugs they do
[14:53]crimes they have a problem every day and they embarrass that father
[14:58]and mother in the society so a child doesn't mean it'll always
[15:02]be a good child a child may be good may be bad
[15:05]so this child that we see as a nama can be a
[15:07]curse likewise our money can be a curse our money you find
[15:13]sometimes it could be a source of my miseries how many wealthy
[15:17]people you find that has so much money as soon as the
[15:20]stock market crashes or goes down he has a heart attack it's
[15:25]that same money that's supposed to make him happy it gives him
[15:27]a heart attack when the real estate crashes goes down changes when
[15:32]some certain currencies change you see the wealthy people they stress out
[15:36]so much so it's his money that's giving him what stress that's
[15:40]causing him stress that's giving him a heart attack problems so many
[15:44]times the things that we want is gonna make us suffer are
[15:47]gonna make us suffer so when you ask allah you tell him
[15:50]you allah i don't want fitnah that means you don't want allah
[15:52]to give you anything because anything allah gives you even if you
[15:56]think it's good it may have another side to it it may
[15:59]have a downside it may cause you to suffer so ask allah
[16:03]to protect you from the fitness that will make your iman weaker
[16:07]subhanallah sometimes we look at some people in the society we think
[16:10]they're perfect we think they have absolutely no problems yes maybe i
[16:15]see him for example he's very wealthy maybe i see him he's
[16:18]powerful he may be a politician i say he's so lucky he
[16:22]has everything but trust me even those individuals allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
[16:26]will what try them in different ways maybe he does not try
[16:30]through his wealth maybe he's not tried through poverty he has power
[16:35]he has money but however you'll find this person may have a
[16:38]sickness have a disease that millions of dollars cannot remove you might
[16:42]find this person may have a family problem he'll have a problem
[16:46]with his children a problem with his wife she'll have a problem
[16:48]problem with her husband he might have a psychological problem so allah
[16:52]subhanahu wa ta'ala will try everybody there is no person that is
[16:56]immune there is no person that will not be tried in this
[16:59]dunya and he will not have any problems and difficulties i remember
[17:04]a few years ago there was a a young man very smart
[17:08]young man who was in software engineering and he developed and created
[17:14]a famous game that became very very famous and i'm sure all
[17:17]of your children they play it minecraft if you remember it all
[17:21]children used to play it so all of a sudden he gets
[17:23]lucky one day he's an average young guy microsoft comes and buys
[17:29]it from him for $2,000,000,000 crazy amounts subhanallah one lousy game $2,000,000,000
[17:35]so all the sudden he was an average person made you know
[17:39]a moderate a modest amount of money few thousand maybe he made
[17:42]a month all the sudden he's given the dunya he's given $2,000,000,000
[17:47]everyone they said how lucky is this person how honored is this
[17:51]person this person is going to live happily for the rest of
[17:53]his life subhanallah a few months after that he wrote on his
[17:57]twitter account that i'm depressed i'm not happy because i got the
[18:01]money i bought the house i bought the lamborghini i bought the
[18:04]nice car maybe even a private jet i got everything okay now
[18:07]what now i'm bored now i'm bored i want more even this
[18:13]person who had all this wealth he was depressed so there's no
[18:16]person that you no matter how they try how much they try
[18:20]to present themselves as what as we're perfect human beings we have
[18:23]no problems our life is perfect they will run into problems the
[18:27]least thing they'll get depressed you could be living in a jannah
[18:30]in heaven but you're depressed and you won't enjoy it what's the
[18:33]point if you have the best family you have health you have
[18:37]money you have everything but you have depression will you enjoy any
[18:40]of it no so every human being allah he will try them
[18:45]why because life is a test obviously allah didn't bring us here
[18:48]to relax he brought us here to try us he wants to
[18:52]see our character our akhla our personality is it good is it
[18:57]bad what will we choose will we make good decisions and bad
[19:01]decisions and as we mentioned if you remember in my first lecture
[19:05]we said that the human being if you want to see his
[19:08]true nature you want to see his true character put him under
[19:12]pressure put him under difficulty and i mentioned the famous arabic poem
[19:16]and that or the expression that if you want to see the
[19:24]true nature of someone don't look at him when he's relaxed and
[19:27]he has a full stomach no look at that person when he's
[19:30]under difficulty and pressure this is when the true colors begin to
[19:34]show this is when the true nature of the human being begins
[19:37]to show so allah tries us he puts us under pressure and
[19:41]difficulty so that he sees our true nature our true character and
[19:45]he judges us based upon that so this is the first point
[19:50]that no human being will live in this dunya without any problems
[19:54]it's a problem that every human being suffers from point number two
[19:59]the second point that we have to do that we have to
[20:01]keep in mind in order for us to cope with our problems
[20:07]and the suffering and to better understand why allah allows suffering to
[20:10]happen the second point that we have to keep in mind is
[20:14]that we said many individuals they assume they think that when allah
[20:20]allows them to suffer this is a punishment from allah allah doesn't
[20:26]love them allah doesn't like them and that's why they say why
[20:29]did you allow my child to die you allah why why did
[20:32]you allow such a bad thing you don't love me you don't
[20:34]love my child a merciful you'll see many of them they will
[20:38]say many atheists a merciful god a good loving or loving god
[20:43]would never allow your child to die would never allow innocent human
[20:47]beings to die correct so they are assuming that when allah takes
[20:52]a loved one from you when allah allows suffering to happen to
[20:55]you allah hates you allah doesn't care about you allah has indifference
[20:59]about you is this true when we come to the hadith of
[21:03]ahlul bayt we see that this can't be any farther from the
[21:06]truth the exact opposite is the true it's not that when allah
[21:12]subhanahu wa ta'ala hates you he tries you the hadith tell us
[21:16]that when allah loves you he tries you if you want to
[21:21]know if allah loves someone look at his life does he have
[21:25]many problems many difficulties if he has many difficulties and many problems
[21:30]know that allah loves this individual and i'll read you a hadith
[21:34]the hadith of imam saddiq alaihis salam he says when allah loves
[21:44]someone a group he will what he will test them he will
[21:48]give them difficult tests and he will afflict them with problems and
[21:52]the other hadith the imam says when allah the imam says loves
[22:02]one of his creation one of his servants what does he do
[22:06]allah he immerses him in tribulations and trials and difficulties he immerses
[22:13]him he drowns him in problems and another hadith rasulullah sallallahu alaihi
[22:19]wa sallam he was asked who are the human beings that allah
[22:25]subhanahu wa ta'ala lets them suffer the most which human beings are
[22:29]they you would assume rasulullah would say the criminals the evildoers the
[22:34]valameen the oppressors allah he will try them the most difficult way
[22:40]no the hadith says rasulullah said the prophets of allah they're the
[22:50]ones that suffer the most in this world 124,000 prophets you think
[22:54]they had easy lives you think they found comfort you think they
[22:58]had the opportunity the chance to relax never most of them they
[23:02]lived in the worst worst you know conditions of poverty they could
[23:07]barely even find food to eat and they were messengers of allah
[23:10]they could easily ask allah to give them but if allah gives
[23:14]them doesn't mean it's gonna it means allah loves them no so
[23:19]you find that they many of them they live poverty they were
[23:22]bothered by their tribes they were tortured some of them some of
[23:26]them were killed we have prophets that were killed from many israel
[23:29]they live the worst condition look at rasulullah he says he had
[23:35]to flee for his life he had to leave mecca and go
[23:37]to medina and find a new house it's not easy to live
[23:42]in that way when you have your tribe your people they hate
[23:45]you they throw rocks at you they call you names they try
[23:48]to kill you they wage wars against you they kill your uncle
[23:51]they kill your sahaba you think it's an easy life that a
[23:55]prophet lives why doesn't allah love his prophets of course allah loves
[24:00]his prophets more than any other individual but we see the prophets
[24:04]they suffer the most because the prophet then says the prophets and
[24:12]then after the prophet who suffers more the ones that have the
[24:16]best iman the more iman you have the more allah will make
[24:21]you suffer the more allah will try you the harder your test
[24:25]will be the more iman you have he said he says the
[24:34]more iman you have the more good deeds you do the more
[24:37]difficult your life will be the more problems you will have and
[24:48]the lower your iman is the lower your amal are the lesser
[24:52]amal are the easier life will be for you allahu akbar do
[24:57]you see how when allah subhanahu wa ta'ala loves someone he allows
[25:01]that person to suffer it's narrated that one day rasulullah he went
[25:06]to a house of someone he had invited him for lunch so
[25:10]as rasulullah entered rasulullah noticed that there is a wall in the
[25:16]courtyard there's a wall like a long fence and on that thin
[25:21]wall there was a chicken that was sitting on the wall as
[25:25]rasulullah entered that chicken had brought an egg that egg fell from
[25:31]the wall it tipped and there was a nail the hadith says
[25:35]sticking out of the wall a nail so the egg fell right
[25:41]on the nail now what should happen usually it's a soft egg
[25:45]and it's falling on a hard nail what should happen the egg
[25:48]should break right so the prophet noticed that the egg landed perfectly
[25:54]on the nail nothing happened to it and it didn't fall it
[25:56]just stayed there it landed perfectly on a thin nail subhanallah it
[26:01]kept its balance prophet looked it's not moving said subhanallah he was
[26:07]surprised so the man the owner of the house he said you
[26:10]rasoolallah don't be surprised why he said because i'm a very lucky
[26:15]man nothing bad ever happens to me i have such good luck
[26:18]that even if my egg falls on the nail it won't break
[26:22]nothing ever bad happens to me this is my good luck and
[26:25]then he tells the prophet i have never had a tragedy a
[26:32]problem a difficulty never do you know what the hadith says the
[26:37]hadith says rasulullah said this is how you are he says then
[26:41]forgive me i'm not going to come to your house to eat
[26:44]rasulullah left his house because rasulullah told him if someone does not
[26:50]allah subhanahu wa ta'ala does not allow him to suffer if someone
[26:54]has absolutely no problems in his life that means there's something wrong
[26:58]with this person the more allah loves you the more you're a
[27:02]great person the more iman you have the more lucky you are
[27:07]so if we find a person that he says allah never tries
[27:10]me i never have problems that means there's a problem with this
[27:13]person maybe allah doesn't love him maybe that person was a hypocrite
[27:17]rasulullah knew he was from the munafiqeen so he said if this
[27:20]is the case i don't even want to come into your house
[27:24]so he so you can know a person's iman based on how
[27:28]much problems and difficulties he has in his life the prophets the
[27:33]imams look at the imams what happened to them look at imam
[27:36]hussein alaihis salam look at the tragedy of karbala the imams they
[27:41]all live difficult lives so this is one of the signs that
[27:46]allah loves you the more problems and difficulties you face the more
[27:50]allah loves you it's not a punishment so this is the second
[27:54]point that we have to keep in mind number one we said
[27:56]what no one will live a problem free life everyone will be
[28:00]tried by allah because life is a test allah wants to see
[28:03]our true nature and character number two we said that allah subhanahu
[28:07]wa ta'ala the more he loves us the harder our tests will
[28:10]be the more difficulties we will face and number three the third
[28:14]point that we have to keep in mind is why why is
[28:19]it that when allah loves me he allows me to suffer it
[28:23]should be the other way around correct it should be the more
[28:26]allah loves me the more he allows me to be comfortable the
[28:30]more allah the more he gives me the more he spoils me
[28:34]shouldn't this be how it works so why is it the other
[28:37]way around why is it that when allah loves me he allows
[28:40]me to suffer now one reason we mentioned already is because life
[28:47]is a test and wants to test the nature the character of
[28:51]human beings so allah if he does not you know allow you
[28:56]to be tried and to face difficulties he won't know your stature
[29:00]he won't know allah not that he won't know allah swt knows
[29:03]but he wants to show and prove to the you know on
[29:06]the day of judgment that this person's position he deserves it so
[29:10]in addition to that that we already mentioned when we want to
[29:14]answer this question why is it that allah the more he loves
[29:18]me more he tries me the more difficult my test will be
[29:22]we have to first learn about the benefits of suffering you see
[29:28]we human beings don't like suffering we always want to be comfortable
[29:33]we want to live comfortable easy lives and we want to relax
[29:36]correct but the truth the unfortunate and bitter truth is that we
[29:42]human beings need suffering we human beings benefit from suffering the holy
[29:49]quran says and it may be that you hate something but it's
[29:57]good for you it may be that something you don't like but
[30:01]it's good for you we human beings we don't like suffering but
[30:04]there's lots of good and suffering and i'll mention some of the
[30:06]good some of the benefits that we reap from suffering number one
[30:11]why does allah subhanahu wa ta'ala allow us to suffer what's the
[30:14]point of problems and difficulties couldn't allah remove all difficulties and problems
[30:19]in life he could have yes reason number one allah he allows
[30:26]us to suffer because suffering and pain builds our character it makes
[30:33]our nafs strong you see if you want to build i ask
[30:38]you if you want to build your body you want to become
[30:41]strong you want to have muscles and a six pack what do
[30:44]you do do you go sit on the couch eat chips and
[30:49]watch tv the whole day will that make you strong the human
[30:53]beings love loves to relax right we love to always relax sit
[30:56]back and enjoy ourselves but if we do that if we become
[31:00]lazy and we just want to be comfortable the whole day and
[31:03]we want to relax eventually you're gonna see a huge stomach correct
[31:07]you're gonna become fat your health will be at risk because obesity
[31:11]causes so much what risks it causes for example heart problems cholesterol
[31:17]diabetes so on so forth if so you become lazy and you
[31:20]want to always be comfortable and you don't want to work out
[31:24]then what you're gonna be at risk you're gonna be weak you
[31:27]you know one one one punch and you'll fall down you can't
[31:30]fight anyone you can't defend yourself so if the human being wants
[31:34]to always relax the human being will be weak he'll be vulnerable
[31:38]everyone could what could defeat him everyone could beat him and he'll
[31:44]be at risk to many health issues if the human being wants
[31:48]to be strong he wants to develop those muscles what does he
[31:52]do you have to work you have to get up go to
[31:56]the gym you have to exercise you have to lift those weights
[32:00]you have to exert pressure on those muscles the more pressure you
[32:04]exert on the muscles the stronger it becomes subhanallah when you think
[32:10]about it when someone goes to a gym what is he really
[32:13]doing he's torturing himself you have to live in those difficult ways
[32:18]and then you have to run and you have to do this
[32:21]it's not easy that's why many people who are obese they want
[32:25]to lose weight they can't well tell them to go to the
[32:27]gym it's not easy it's torture for them it's torture for him
[32:30]to go on the treadmill and run he wants to relax sit
[32:33]on the couch and watch tv this is much much easier much
[32:36]much funner so in essence when you're working out you're torturing yourself
[32:40]but as they say if there is no pain there is no
[32:44]gain you want to become strong you have to go through pain
[32:47]you have to suffer suffering my friends in this world we see
[32:52]it with our bodies it makes our bodies stronger the same thing
[32:57]apply it to the nafs we have a body we have a
[33:01]nafs many of us we have a weak nafs our nafs is
[33:05]very very weak how do you make your nafs strong through difficulties
[33:12]when you endure life's difficulties the problems of life when you go
[33:16]through a sickness when you go through poverty when allah takes a
[33:21]loved one this all develops your nafs your character it makes your
[33:25]nafs so much stronger and that's why when you look at the
[33:28]great people that lived in this world read about the great people
[33:32]the legends the powerful kings and the presidents and the poets and
[33:39]the scientists that lived in this world know the great people that
[33:42]lived in this world most of them read their biography you'll always
[33:46]find a chapter a place in which it will tell you when
[33:49]they were younger they went through so much hardships don't think that
[33:53]you can become a great leader and you're pampered and spoiled your
[33:57]entire life no many of them they went to prison and they
[34:00]went through hardships they went through poverty were orphans their parents were
[34:04]killed they were abused they went through so much hardships until their
[34:09]character was strong it was built they became a leader you don't
[34:12]become a leader by just being so lazy and being comfortable and
[34:16]relaxing the entire time the more that you endure the more pain
[34:21]you see the stronger your character will be when you grow up
[34:26]so once again does allah allow us to suffer because he hates
[34:30]us no because he loves you he doesn't want you your nafs
[34:33]to be weak he wants your nafs to be strong the more
[34:37]he loves you the more he tries you because the more he
[34:39]wants your nafs to be strong for the day of judgment because
[34:42]this dunya is the body the day of judgment is the nafs
[34:45]if you have a weak nafs on the day of judgment you'll
[34:48]have a very difficult time allah wants to prepare you for the
[34:52]day of judgment he wants you to have a strong nafs how
[34:54]do you have a strong nafs you have to face the difficulties
[34:58]of life that's the only way that you'll develop your nafs so
[35:01]allah that's why the more he loves you the more he allows
[35:04]you to suffer he wants our nafs to develop in character that's
[35:08]number one number two why allah allows the suffering to happen many
[35:14]times we human beings we forget about the real goal of life
[35:19]allah brought us to this dunya why why did he bring us
[35:22]to this dunya what's the point of living in this dunya allah
[35:27]azzawajal he brought us to this dunya this dunya is a test
[35:31]our job is what is to accumulate good deeds stay away from
[35:34]sins and to please allah and then in the next life you
[35:38]settle you enjoy yourself many individuals they forget about the goal of
[35:43]life they get so indulged in the materialistic dunya they begin to
[35:47]drown in their sins they completely forget about allah they're completely lost
[35:53]brother sister allah brought you to this dunya so that you worship
[35:57]him so you do good deeds and you completely forget about your
[36:01]goal allah because they get so preoccupied by the dunya their business
[36:05]the money the dunya the nafs the shahawat and what it completely
[36:10]takes control over them they forget about everything else about allah about
[36:14]the next life allah when he sees his abid his servant he's
[36:20]lost he wants to bring him back how does he bring him
[36:23]back he'll send a friend that friend will tell him brother why
[36:26]don't you come to the husseiniyah why don't you come to the
[36:29]masjid what will i tell that brother i'm busy that's the most
[36:32]common excuse we use why don't we see more people in our
[36:36]masjid and our husayniyat we're too busy with our lives you don't
[36:41]even have time for allah subhanallah allah my creator i'm too busy
[36:45]for him he tells me come i tell him no thank you
[36:48]i'm busy i have other things more important things to do so
[36:51]allah he sends a friend we don't listen we say we're busy
[36:54]allah will what will give me good parents my father my mother
[36:57]will tell me come to the hussainia pray wear the hijab do
[37:00]this do that i ignore my parents allah tries so many ways
[37:04]to bring me he says he sees there's no use so in
[37:07]the end what does allah do he uses a what he uses
[37:12]pain and suffering to bring me back there is nothing my friends
[37:16]that moves the human being like pain and suffering when you see
[37:19]there are certain advocates for certain diseases you'll see famous person he's
[37:24]advocating for cancer for aids for a certain disease why why is
[37:29]he being so empathetic usually because he also had that same disease
[37:35]before because he felt that pain he suffered from this disease now
[37:39]that he knows how it feels he becomes so empathetic with others
[37:43]he wants others to be aware he doesn't want others to feel
[37:46]it there is nothing that moves the human being like pain so
[37:50]allah azza wa jal he may use a painful situation to grab
[37:54]your attention because i'm sleeping allah azza wa jal uses suffering to
[37:59]bring me back to grab my attention it's like an alarm clock
[38:02]that rings off it's a reminder that come back there is dunya
[38:07]there is dunya there is akhirah there is death there's a next
[38:11]life don't be so preoccupied in the dunya when do i realize
[38:14]that when a tragedy happens only then i wake up i went
[38:20]to a community once i read there a father came he told
[38:24]me sayyid no i try so hard to bring my son he
[38:28]doesn't come i have to put a fight with him every day
[38:31]he doesn't come for the lecture he doesn't want to so finally
[38:35]one night he forced his son he was maybe 17 18 he
[38:39]was 18 years old he forced him to come he came or
[38:43]he pressured him to come i sat with him he told me
[38:47]sit down with him speak to him maybe you know he could
[38:50]change because he doesn't he's not interested in religion doesn't want to
[38:54]come to listen to the lectures so i sat with him i
[38:57]spoke to him i saw there's no point he's not interested he's
[38:59]not even listening he doesn't care he had the hardest you know
[39:04]the hardest job for the father was to bring his child his
[39:07]son to the majlis he only came one he never showed up
[39:12]this is what this is the year that i want subhanallah next
[39:16]year i came to the same place i gave lectures at the
[39:19]same place i saw the first person that comes to the majlis
[39:23]is that young guy that i saw last year that he was
[39:26]not willing to come a single night and he had caused so
[39:28]much pain for his father he's the first one this year to
[39:32]come to the majlis he's there the entire majlis he listens he
[39:36]takes notes he comes he asks me questions he's the last one
[39:38]to leave subhanallah what happened why did he transform why did he
[39:44]suddenly transform this one year i knew something happened last year he
[39:47]did not even want to come one night and to him the
[39:49]usainiyah was the most boring thing this year he's the most person
[39:53]excited about the lectures about the majalis what happened so i asked
[39:58]him i told him remember last year you didn't even want to
[40:01]come you weren't interested why all of a sudden you're so excited
[40:04]and interested he said sayidna because i learned my lesson the hard
[40:08]way because i went through a tragedy and i woke up i
[40:12]was sleeping all those years i thought this dunya the shnefs the
[40:16]shahawat the fun the entertainment my friends and my car i thought
[40:20]this was you know the best life until one day i was
[40:24]driving with my friend my best friend who i grew up with
[40:27]i loved so much my best best friend we're driving or listening
[40:31]to music the music is so loud and i'm driving too fast
[40:35]on the freeway all of a sudden there's an accident big accident
[40:38]he says alhamdulillah nothing really happened to me just a broken arm
[40:42]but he said my friend he was hurt he was hurt very
[40:47]bad he went into a coma and after a few weeks he
[40:50]died he says when my friend who was my age who i
[40:53]grew up with i saw my friend he's same age as mine
[40:56]he died i woke up i said i could die too subhanallah
[41:00]death came so close to me i could have died he said
[41:03]that tragedy it woke me up now i turn to allah unfortunately
[41:09]sometimes we have to learn the hard way allah tries to bring
[41:12]me we don't pay attention we're sleeping we're in another world allah
[41:17]because he loves me because he doesn't want me to go deviate
[41:20]and drown in the dunya the only way for him to wake
[41:24]me up is to take a loved one when a loved one
[41:26]dies this tragedy shocks me i wake up there is nothing that
[41:32]will change the human being and move him like tragedies like difficulties
[41:37]allah uses that it's like a wake up call he uses that
[41:40]as a reminder to bring me back so he loves me he
[41:43]doesn't hate me when he does that he loves me there's no
[41:46]other way i've closed all the other doors that's the only way
[41:49]that he can bring me that's why when you read in the
[41:53]hadith one of the beautiful hadith of rasulullah he says he says
[42:08]if it wasn't for these three things three ways that allah tries
[42:12]the human being three ways that we suffer the human being would
[42:16]have never brought his head down he would have been so arrogant
[42:19]so preoccupied with the dunya he says number one number one sickness
[42:25]when you see the human being who's so arrogant he becomes sick
[42:28]subhanallah he starts behaving especially if it's a you know a sickness
[42:34]that's hard to cure if it's a fatal disease a fatal sickness
[42:39]all of a sudden he turns to allah if they come and
[42:41]tell someone anyone who's not practicing you have cancer and you'll die
[42:45]in six months right away he'll become so holy and turn to
[42:48]allah that's the only way in which the human beings goes back
[42:51]to his lord and becomes humble number one he says al marav
[42:55]number two al fakr poverty when allah uses poverty sometimes the human
[43:00]being reaches a low level of poverty he brings his head down
[43:06]he becomes so humble to allah that i the human being who
[43:10]can become so arrogant sometimes i can't even find food to feed
[43:13]myself and number three al maut the prophet says death the human
[43:18]being knows no matter how much he wants to live much how
[43:21]much money he wants to accumulate no matter how arrogant he thinks
[43:26]how great he thinks he is one day he'll die and he'll
[43:30]be placed in that grave just like everyone else so when the
[43:34]human being knows that there is sickness is poverty there is death
[43:39]he's always reminded of his lord of the next life of the
[43:42]grave if it wasn't for these three things and we always lived
[43:47]comfortably who would have thought about allah no one would turn to
[43:50]allah because when we're comfortable we forget about allah only when we
[43:54]need him we go to him allah wants us to always he
[43:58]wants us to always turn towards him so what does he do
[44:02]of course he has to play suffering in the dunya if there's
[44:05]no suffering we're gonna be sleeping the entire dunya so this is
[44:10]what this is number two we said number one was what allah
[44:13]azzawajal he wants to build our nafs through suffering number two we
[44:17]said what was number two number two is that he wants to
[44:20]grab my attention he wants to direct me he wants me to
[44:23]wake up nothing is useful nothing works except a tragedy except a
[44:29]difficulty except something a way in which i suffer and feel pain
[44:34]this is number two and number three the third way in which
[44:38]the third reason or the third way in which i benefit from
[44:41]suffering is that allah uses suffering to purify us he loves you
[44:48]when he when allows suffering to happen we shouldn't say why does
[44:52]allah allow this because he loves you why because allah sometimes he
[44:55]wants to purify you how is anyone here maasoon infallible every one
[45:02]of us here we commit haram we commit sins correct we sometimes
[45:07]oppress other people we are unjust with other people aren't we sometimes
[45:12]we commit so many sins allah has just i mentioned in the
[45:16]first lecture on the day of judgment he will hold everyone accountable
[45:19]for oppression vulum for any haram any sin that we did and
[45:24]allah azzawajal he will punish anyone that did vulum that did injustice
[45:29]in this world that was oppressed that did haram now can we
[45:33]bear can we bear can we handle the adab the punishment of
[45:38]allah on the day of judgment we can't handle it because the
[45:43]punishment of allah on the day of judgment is too severe amir
[45:48]al mu'mineen he says in one of his khutab no human being
[45:52]oh human being that your skin has absolutely no patience in front
[45:57]of the fire of allah don't think that you can take you
[46:05]can handle the fires of hell of allah because your skin cannot
[46:10]handle it the punishment of allah and the akhirah is too severe
[46:14]so because of allah's mercy he knows you've committed sins you've done
[46:19]haram you've done injustice oppression he purifies you in this world so
[46:24]that when you leave this world you leave clean pure so that
[46:27]he doesn't have to pure he doesn't have to punish you in
[46:29]the akhirah if he punishes you in the dunya you're clean in
[46:33]the akhirah and the punishment of dunya is so much easier to
[46:37]endure than the punishment on the akhirah isn't it if they ask
[46:40]you you've done haram you have one of two choices either allah
[46:44]will punish you in the dunya through poverty through sickness through disease
[46:48]through all these ways that we suffer or live a comfortable life
[46:53]and then in the akhirah allah will put you in the fires
[46:55]of hell which one will you choose everyone will choose in the
[46:58]dunya because it's no match it's not compared look at what imam
[47:02]ali alaihis salam says in dua al kumail we always read this
[47:05]every thursday night he says so beautifully you allah you know that
[47:33]i the weak human being i have no patience towards the suffering
[47:37]of the dunya even the dunya we have no patience we can't
[47:40]endure the suffering of the dunya and then the imam says after
[47:44]that the imam tells allah you allah you know i have no
[48:02]patience towards the suffering of the dunya so how will i have
[48:07]patience towards the suffering of the akhara the imam says the suffering
[48:11]of the dunya is so limited it's so small it's not severe
[48:16]while the suffering of the akhara the punishment of al akhara of
[48:19]jar jahannam is severe it's long and it's very difficult so if
[48:24]i can't handle the dunya's punishment you expect me to handle the
[48:29]punishment of the akhirah allah azzawajal out of his mercy he wants
[48:33]to punish you in the dunya so you go clean to the
[48:36]akhirah so you don't have to see the fires of hell that's
[48:40]from his mercy and we have many hadith about that that allah
[48:44]how does he purify a mu'min when i have sins he purifies
[48:49]you through suffering in the dunya you'll catch a cold why because
[48:54]yesterday you insulted the mu'min so now allah says instead of waiting
[48:59]till the akhirah and in the akhirah it's difficult severe right now
[49:03]you'll catch a cold i will afflict you with a disease i'll
[49:06]take from your money you'll lose from your money you'll live a
[49:09]life of poverty you'll have a problem in your family why does
[49:13]allah try you with all of these problems to purify you so
[49:16]that you go clean to him and i'll read you likewise this
[49:19]beautiful hadith that's narrated from allah it's a hadith qudsi the hadith
[49:24]says that allah says he says that when i find a mu'min
[49:40]that i love what do i do to him when allah azza
[49:45]wa jal loves a mu'min he says that i try to purify
[49:49]him so that when he leaves the dunya he leaves pure how
[49:53]does allah purify us the hadith says through diseases through sicknesses and
[50:03]illnesses allah even the mu'min he will what he will afflict him
[50:08]with diseases and sicknesses and illnesses to purify him there's one hadith
[50:12]from the prophet that says that if you sleep one night with
[50:18]favor allah will erase one year of sins for you because you're
[50:22]what because you're suffering don't think that this suffering will go free
[50:26]just like that that when you sleep one night with fever allah
[50:30]will erase one year of bad deeds for you so when allah
[50:36]afflicts someone with fever is it because he hates him or is
[50:38]it because he loves him because he loves him because he doesn't
[50:42]want to postpone it to the akhirah so the hadith allah says
[50:47]either through a disease or sickness or i will what i will
[50:55]take from his money i will let him live a life of
[50:58]poverty because he's done so many sins i want to erase those
[51:01]sins so i what so i let him live poverty suffer through
[51:04]poverty so that his sins go away or he will live with
[51:11]fear he live in a country where the government oppresses him he
[51:14]live somewhere where he has to live in fear so all the
[51:18]suffering that the human being that the mu'min goes through allah is
[51:23]using it to erase his sins so it's because of the mercy
[51:26]of allah that allah allows me to suffer in the dunya it's
[51:31]not because he hates me and then the hadith says he says
[51:39]if anything remains sins if that was not enough then when he's
[51:43]dying i'll make it a painful death for him why because i
[51:47]want to make sure that every sin is cleaned before he dies
[51:51]so that when he dies he dies pure he won't be held
[51:55]accountable for anything anymore because he already was punished in the duniya
[51:58]so it's because of the rahma of allah that what that he
[52:02]brings that he purifies me in the dunya and that i suffer
[52:06]in the dunya it's not because he hates me and then in
[52:08]the hadith allah says when i when i want to what when
[52:12]i want to punish someone allah says when i want to punish
[52:16]someone because he's he's a hypocrite he's a kafir he's a valim
[52:19]whatever you know what i do allah says in the hadith that
[52:22]i allow him to live the most comfortable life i give him
[52:26]so much money i give him health i give him what i
[52:29]give him a society in which he lives peacefully there's there's freedom
[52:34]there is peace there is security i allow him to live the
[52:38]best dunya why so that none of his sins are erased i
[52:41]want to postpone them to the akhha so when i do a
[52:45]sin i either have to pay for it now or in the
[52:48]next life that's of course if i don't repent the mu'min allah
[52:52]wants him to pay for it in the dunya because the dunya
[52:55]is so easy the punishment and the suffering of the dunya is
[52:57]nothing with a kafir with a balim with a hypocrite allah azzawajal
[53:02]he postpones it to the next life because that's where it's severe
[53:05]and he lived a life that's comfortable so this is reason number
[53:11]what number three why allah allows us to suffer in the dunya
[53:16]and finally and we will end with this and finally the fourth
[53:21]reason or the fourth benefit to our suffering is that allah will
[53:27]reward us for suffering like i mentioned don't think that any way
[53:31]that we suffer any suffering that goes any pain that we feel
[53:35]will go unaccounted for no allah azzawajal he will reimburse us he
[53:40]will compensate us he will reward us for any pain that we
[53:43]have in the dunya let me read you a few hadith what
[53:46]the imams tell us about the reward of suffering if you suffer
[53:50]in this dunya the reward is so great one of the narrators
[53:54]by the name of asaba ibn asayyab he asks al imam musaddiq
[54:01]alaihis salam one day he asked him he says is all the
[54:08]suffering that we see when a mu'min suffers is it because he
[54:12]did something haram is it always like that the imam says no
[54:16]he says lah so why then allah allows the mu'min to suffer
[54:19]even a mu'min who does not commit sins allah allows him to
[54:22]suffer we said the prophets they suffer the most so why so
[54:24]if it's to purify the mu'min then what if a mu'min doesn't
[54:28]have sins why is allah allowing the prophet to suffer he has
[54:31]no sins so what is he purifying listen to what the imam
[54:35]says he says so that when the human being suffers allah loves
[54:43]to hear the voice of the human being when he cries for
[54:46]help allah allows the mu'min to suffer because allah writes good deeds
[55:02]for him allah writes reward for him allah wants to reward you
[55:06]so how does he reward you he rewards you by allowing you
[55:09]to suffer there's a great amount of reward for suffering for bala
[55:14]listen to this beautiful hadith for imam asadab he says if the
[55:30]mu'min knew how much reward there is for difficulties for suffering he
[55:35]will wish that allah cuts him up into pieces because it's so
[55:40]worth it that on the day of judgment when allah resurrects me
[55:44]he shows me an unimaginable amount of reward he says this is
[55:48]for you i tell him why allah he says because you suffered
[55:51]in the dunya and i'm giving you this unimaginable amount of reward
[55:55]the human being says subhanallah this much reward for just that one
[56:00]night that i slept hungry that i had a cold that i
[56:03]had a fever that i had a sickness he will wish his
[56:06]entire life he would have suffered it's worth it the reward is
[56:10]so great and listen to this hadith from the imam he says
[56:17]when allah he what afflicts me with a problem and i suffer
[56:25]and then i have patience i don't go and complain to allah
[56:28]and i become an atheist why does allah allow this no i
[56:31]have patience i accept the will of allah azzawajal what will allah
[56:35]give me the imam says when you have patience towards the suffering
[56:45]that you see if you're suffering and you're patient allah gives you
[56:49]the reward of 1,000 shaheed 1,000 martyrs allahu akbaru allahi it's worth
[56:55]it my friends the the reward is so great and then listen
[56:59]to this beautiful hadith the fifth imam he says in the hadith
[57:10]he says if one night you can't sleep because you have pain
[57:14]because you have a cold because you have fever that is the
[57:18]reward for that pain that suffered suffering that you have is greater
[57:22]than worshiping allah one year an entire year and another hadith sixty
[57:29]years so all of this highlights my friends that the suffering that
[57:35]we see that we feel allah will give us an unimaginable reward
[57:39]for it imagine they tell you if you sleep one night with
[57:43]a fever we'll give you for each night $50,000 i think everyone
[57:49]will wish that they have fevers because every night that you sleep
[57:52]with a fever even though it's difficult you'll get $50,000 people will
[57:56]wish there they have a fever their entire lives and what's $50,000
[58:00]what's the money of the dunya this is the tawab of allah
[58:03]and the akhirah wallahi on the day of judgment we will wish
[58:07]that we suffered more in the dunya because of the great reward
[58:10]that we'll miss out on and that's why amir al mumineen he
[58:15]says in about the muttaqeen he says about them yes the mu'mineen
[58:23]the muttaqeen the pious ones they have patience in the dunya because
[58:26]it's difficult but the dunya is so short it will end so
[58:29]quickly but then they relaxed and they found comfort for eternity the
[58:41]imam says suffer a few years and then for the rest of
[58:44]eternity you'll be comfortable in the akhirah you will relax there'll be
[58:48]no pain there'll be no suffering in the next life and that's
[58:53]why when you come to imam al hussain alaihi salaam you see
[58:56]all the tragedies that he faced on the day of ashura one
[59:00]truly wonders how did imam hussein bear all those tragedies how did
[59:05]imam hussein cope with them because the tragedies of the day of
[59:09]ashura had no match we read in the poem about abdullah we
[59:18]tell him your tragedy on the day of ashura it made us
[59:21]forget about all other tragedies because they're nothing compared to his tragedy
[59:33]and it made our future problems and tragedies it made them so
[59:37]easy nothing any tragedy that i have any suffering i feel just
[59:42]remember hussein hussein suffered more than you so thus my tragedy becomes
[59:48]easy because i say imam hussein suffered 10 times more than me
[59:53]a thousand times more than me it's not easy my friends for
[59:56]someone with the soft heart of abba abdullah with a merciful heart
[60:00]like abba abdullah al hussein who's merciful even with his enemies it's
[60:05]not easy for him to endure seeing his six month old baby
[60:09]being killed right in his hands you think that's easy which father
[60:13]has that heart even if you're a cold blooded human being no
[60:18]one has the heart to see his baby being killed in his
[60:20]hands especially if it was abba abdullah's heart it was all mercy
[60:25]it was all compassion it was so soft how did abba abdullah
[60:29]al hussein face all of that how did imam hussein how did
[60:33]imam hussein bear all that tragedies all those tragedies how was he
[60:39]so defiantly resilient a mountain wallahi could not face the tragedies that
[60:44]abba abdullah faced when he saw his children being butchered like animals
[60:49]in front of him how did he have the power the ability
[60:53]to cope with all of that one truly wonders the hadith of
[60:57]imam zainul abideen alaihis salam sheikh saddouq narrates it he says on
[61:01]the day of ashura the worse the conditions got for my father
[61:06]hussein the worse the conditions got for abba abdullah al hussein the
[61:13]more his family members would be killed the more energy he would
[61:16]lose the stronger he would become the more resilient he would become
[61:21]the more his face would light up and illuminate and the more
[61:26]he would relax the more comfortable he would be the more calm
[61:30]he would be allahu akbar when you see someone the more tragedies
[61:34]that happen the more he loses hope the more he breaks down
[61:39]abba abdullah al hussein on the day of ashura the more he
[61:41]saw tragedies this is imam zainul abideen he says the more tragedies
[61:45]he faced the stronger he became the more resilient he became the
[61:50]larger his smile got allahu akbar how did he have so much
[61:54]patience how hamid ibn muslim one of the narrators he says that
[61:59]i saw abba abdullah al hussain in those last moments before he
[62:03]killed him he said hameed ibn muslim says on the day of
[62:26]ashura before hussein was killed he says wallahi i had never seen
[62:30]someone who was so overwhelmed outnumbered between the enemies his family members
[62:35]killed a few minutes ago his companions killed he's overwhelmed they're throwing
[62:39]spears at him but yet he's so courageous yet he's so resilient
[62:44]yet he's so determined how what is he is he a human
[62:49]being he has this much power this much ability to cope with
[62:52]the tragedies that imam zainul abidin alaihis salam said that they used
[62:56]to see aba abdullah so powerful so strong so resilient they used
[63:01]to say he does not afraid of death how was abba abdullah
[63:08]al hussein so strong in front of the suffering that he was
[63:11]facing how some of us we break so fast we begin we
[63:14]become atheists we want to commit suicide we have no patience how
[63:18]was abba abdullah al hussein so strong till the last second he
[63:22]was only thinking about allah he was so strong and defiant he
[63:26]was so resilient how do you know how he himself he says
[63:32]after they killed his six month old baby and he took the
[63:35]blood and he threw it towards the sky what did he say
[63:38]he said he says gives me consolation what gives me patience it's
[63:48]not easy imam hussain was a human being no human being can
[63:52]endure all those calamities and tragedies he says what gives me patience
[63:59]is that allah is seeing all of this injustice what gives me
[64:03]patience is allah is seeing everything it won't go away it won't
[64:07]be forgotten just go away like that no allah will reimburse me
[64:12]he will compensate me he will what he will bring my enemies
[64:15]and he will punish them as long as allah is watching out
[64:19]that's it imam hussein could relax because allah has his patron allah
[64:23]has his supporter allah has his defender allah won't let this go
[64:27]allah will avenge abba abdullah al hussein and that's why likewise before
[64:32]he was going to the battlefield he want to say salaam he
[64:36]went to say farewell to zainab to his sister kulthum to his
[64:40]daughter sukaina to his nieces to all the women before he went
[64:44]and fought all by himself they were crying and wailing aba abdullah
[64:49]who will we have after you the imam told them yes you
[64:52]will suffer after me yes they will even take you as slaves
[64:55]but then he told them have patience because allah is watching out
[64:59]for you allah will reimburse you allah will give you great amount
[65:03]of tawab he wanted them to calm down that when you think
[65:06]allah is there for you that's it nothing else matters abba abdullah
[65:10]al hussein when he knows allah is there for him his love
[65:13]for allah it will remove any pain pain for allah is nothing
[65:20]he won't even feel it that's why the poet says this was
[65:23]how abba abdullah al hussein was on the day of ashura he
[65:38]tells him you allah if i've orphaned my children i widowed my
[65:43]wife i left everything i sacrificed my children my companions even if
[65:48]you were to cut me into pieces wallahi i will not stop
[65:51]loving you you allah if i suffer for allah then the suffering
[65:55]will become easy because it's for allah it was the day of
[65:59]ashura imam hussein alaihis salaam he came to farewell the woman he
[66:04]came to farewell them because there were no supporters left abu abdullah
[66:09]al hussein he had to go on a mountain on the hill
[66:12]in the desert of karbala and he had to cry out for
[66:15]help he cried out allah is there no one that wants to
[66:31]defend abba abdullah he was all alone abbas was killed ali al
[66:35]akbar qasim habib ibn mudahir muslim ibn ausaja he was all alone
[66:40]he had to go and call the enemies to help him he
[66:44]cried out for help the mother of his little baby abdullahi radiya
[66:49]rabbah she says wallahi when abba abdullah made that call when he
[66:53]said is there anyone that will help me is there anyone that
[66:56]wants to protect me she says this young baby who was so
[67:00]thirsty couldn't move he took his hands out of the swaddle as
[67:05]if he's telling his father hussein you have one soldier left i'm
[67:09]still here for you maybe i can't defend you maybe i can't
[67:13]fight for you but i am your last soldier abba abdullah allahu
[67:17]akbar abdullah har razee is the hero of karbala imam hussein is
[67:22]like a gardener he's picking these beautiful flowers the shuhada and after
[67:27]he finishes all the companions all the sacrifices he looks for a
[67:32]final small flower to crown the bundle of flowers with that small
[67:37]flower is abdullahi his six month old baby he came to farewell
[67:42]the woman a sister zainab told him my dear brother hussein before
[67:47]you go and fight please take this little baby of yours to
[67:55]the enemies ask them for water his mother has no more milk
[68:07]to give him imam hussein took his little baby six month old
[68:12]baby i'm sure if there are any fathers they know they have
[68:15]small children they know how much they love their children he looked
[68:19]at his little baby he saw that this baby could no longer
[68:22]move he had no energy he was dying of thirst all he
[68:28]was doing he was making small noises moaning he could not even
[68:32]cry he had absolutely no energy imam hussain took his little baby
[68:39]and he went to the enemies you killed all my men you
[68:55]killed all my companions this is the only child i have left
[69:01]allahu akbar his mother has no milk she has no milk to
[69:09]give him take him and give him some water the enemies an
[69:18]argument broke out some of them said let's give him some water
[69:22]he's only a baby others they said no deprive even their children
[69:27]all the sudden umar ibn saad he looked told he told them
[69:31]and the debate and the argument all of a sudden as abba
[69:42]abdullah was waiting for the water for his little baby he saw
[69:47]instead a three headed arrow came and pierced the neck of abdullah
[69:53]and imam hussain took the holy blood of his baby and he
[70:44]threw it towards the sky and he said what gives me patience
[70:53]is that allah is looking allah is seeing all of this injustice
[70:57]now imam hussein how could he go back bring this baby to
[71:01]his mother how could he bring him back to the tent he
[71:04]went back who came to greet him sukaina my dear father hussain
[71:08]did you feed my brother abdullah water did you give him water
[71:11]and you brought me water too he told her my dear daughter
[71:15]khadi akhaqi madbu haanem al warid al warid no my daughter they
[71:21]gave him no water instead they killed him allahu akbar they took
[71:27]the baby they placed him in the crib in its crib the
[71:31]mother rabab she came she saw her beautiful baby in the crib
[71:35]he's covered with blood
