As we continue our discussion in Surat Al-Kahf, Dr. Usama Al-Atar sheds some light on the two categories of people; the sincere believers, and those who are blinded by worldly desires. Furthermore, we learn about the unique power of Istighfar (seeking forgiveness) and the importance of goal setting, before wrapping the discussion with an introduction to the story of Prophet Moses (A.S.) and why he sought Al-Khedr (A.S.) to gain further knowledge. [3:02]over the past few nights we discussed the beginning the introduction of
[3:08]surat al kahf where we touched upon various topics various points we
[3:15]just want to make a last comment here or a couple of
[3:19]last comments first of all one rewire when allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
[3:26]says at the beginning of surah al kaf and the hadith the
[4:14]famous hadith says that two things helped establish the religion of islam
[4:20]the wealth and the money of khadija salamallaho alaiha and the sword
[4:25]of ali ibn abiata alaihi those two things so imam ali salamu
[4:30]alaihi alaihi whenever a battle was there he was there with rasulullah
[4:35]salallahu alaihi wa'alehi fought next to rasulullah salallahu alaihi wa'alehi rasallallah in
[4:45]the of uhud nobody was left with rasallallah sallallaho alaihi wa'alehi he
[4:53]was left with him and he continued to defend him and fight
[4:57]and fight until his sword broke his sword broke so jibrael brought
[5:05]a sword to rasulullah sallallaho alaihi wa'alehi and he gave it to
[5:09]rasulullah sallallaho and he said you rasulullah ali is fighting and defending
[5:17]you when everyone else has left but he is fighting fiercely to
[5:25]defend you he told him do you know why you jibrael he
[5:29]said why it's because he's of me and i'm of him jibrael
[5:37]said i'm of both of you as well and i'm of both
[5:42]of you give the sword to ali ibn abi talib and he
[5:45]made the call that was heard allah alaihi jibrael made this call
[5:51]so indeed he was there anytime the mushriqeen came the battle was
[6:00]heated it was sallamullahi wa'alehi would dispense or send to fight and
[6:10]to defend the religion of islam so here is one of the
[6:13]ruayat or one of the tawil of this ayah ba'as al shadeed
[6:20]is ali ibn ibn abiata abi talim salamu alaihi wa'alehi that's one
[6:27]thing now this beginning of the surah surah al kahf sets a
[6:33]tone of two different categories of people one group of people allah
[6:40]subhanahu wa ta'ala describes this is one group of people who have
[6:48]mumineen there is another group of people however who a group of
[7:04]people however are after the zina the beauties of this dunya they
[7:11]don't look beyond the superficial life of this world the superficial life
[7:17]they think some people think in fact we may say the majority
[7:21]of people think that worldly possessions are the be all and the
[7:27]end all of this life so you find them working night and
[7:31]day to buy the best cars live in the best houses achieve
[7:35]the best positions and in some cases at all costs at all
[7:40]costs even if they become kings they don't care they'll become kings
[7:47]but they will still continue to punish they will still continue to
[7:51]oppress because their goal is to have as much as they want
[7:56]in this dunya they want zina that's it but they don't keep
[8:01]anything for their akhirah they don't keep anything for their akhirah that's
[8:06]why allah subhanahu wa ta'ala when it comes to such people in
[8:11]dunya we might think they're very successful today if you ask people
[8:15]can you name some of the most successful people in this world
[8:19]if you do a survey i mean maybe at the university at
[8:21]the college at work do a survey who do you think are
[8:26]the most successful people in this world and some people will tell
[8:30]you so and so president and so for example businessman so and
[8:34]so for example multi millionaire so and so for example president and
[8:39]so on so forth so very few people first of all would
[8:43]mention even nobel laureates nobel laureates would not be even mentioned you
[8:46]know very few would mention maybe some of them will mention so
[8:49]and so nobel laureate so and so scientist but hardly ever very
[8:55]very few people unless they are mumineen would mention so and so
[8:59]alim and so maghjat taqlid so and so mumin so and so
[9:04]muttaqi they are the successful people because in islam and quran those
[9:10]are the successful people those are the successful people the people who
[9:15]put allah first who are not fooled by the superficial world otherwise
[9:20]what's the point we have some presidents in the world today who
[9:24]became presidents they may be millionaires billionaires they may have all the
[9:28]money at their disposal they have authority at their disposal but what
[9:32]are they using this authority for to destroy humanity to make arms
[9:37]deals to sell billions of dollars of arms to nations who are
[9:41]tyrants oppressors to kill other people to kill more people this is
[9:47]successful this is success is that called success you know so what
[9:52]they're billionaires what they're successful quote unquote businessmen so what they become
[9:58]a people of authority even when people become for example noble laureates
[10:03]there is a noble laureate a nobel laureate back in 1970 or
[10:07]'71 i can't remember now he came out and he said in
[10:11]his acceptance speech of his nobel prize he says in his acceptance
[10:15]speech the human being has to accept that he is a mistake
[10:22]human being is a mistake what does he mean by that it's
[10:25]just a random process of evolution that puts him onto this earth
[10:30]a series of accidents the human being is an accident you have
[10:33]to accept that the human being has to accept that he's an
[10:37]accident accident you think this is a man whom really close to
[10:42]allah subhanahu wa ta'ala a man who has ilm allah gave him
[10:46]knowledge but this knowledge he did not use it to realize the
[10:50]greatness of allah subhanahu wa ta'ala whereas you have somebody else who
[10:53]says the more i know the more i realize that what i
[10:59]don't know more i don't know that tells us how vast this
[11:03]universe is how great this universe is so then there has to
[11:08]be a maker there has to be a creator that is the
[11:12]person who realizes recognizes the greatness of allah that is the successful
[11:16]person in dunya and in akhirah imam ali alaihis salam refers to
[11:21]the muttaqeen and he when he describes them he says he says
[11:35]they waited they were patient few short days in dunya how long
[11:40]do we live in dunya fifty years eighty years just two weeks
[11:45]ago not even last week last week where before i came here
[11:49]a boy a young man we buried him 30 years old 30
[11:52]years old we left this dunya that's subhanallah we don't know you
[11:58]go to the makabir you go to the kabristan you go to
[12:01]the kabristan and you see sometimes in the makabir there in edmonton
[12:07]there is a boy who is one day old one day old
[12:10]subhanallah he came and the minute he came he did not make
[12:12]it into this dunya he died one day and you have somebody
[12:16]who's 104 years old someone who's 104 years old and the whole
[12:22]range in between but even if we go 100 years old what's
[12:26]that compared to the akhira what's a thousand years compared to the
[12:30]akhira compared to infinity we have some mathematicians here what happens when
[12:34]you put a number over infinity what happens any number when it
[12:38]goes over infinity what happens what's up with you guys one over
[12:49]infinity is that right no it becomes zero any number over infinity
[12:57]becomes zero because it's infinity so forever for example you have one
[13:04]over 10,000,000 what's one over 10,000,000 it's nothing so imagine one over
[13:08]infinity it's zero so what is dunya compared to akhagah akhagah is
[13:12]infinity eternity forever so that is something which is important to be
[13:18]set by this surah that's why when allah talks even the themes
[13:21]of the surah the stories for example the story of was hab
[13:23]ul kahf the story of was hab ul kahf also talks about
[13:27]some group of people who believed in allah they gave up this
[13:30]dunya and the zina of dunya they went to the akhirah and
[13:34]so allah protected them saved them and now the surah or the
[13:38]stories of musa alaihis salam and al khivr which is what we're
[13:43]going to discuss inshaallah if allah gives us tawfeeq over the next
[13:47]few nights now you find in this surah or in these stories
[13:53]there are some things which are you know beyond our world things
[13:59]which is beyond our thinking and that's something that allah wants to
[14:03]point our attention to don't think that this world is governed by
[14:08]all the laws that you see the natural laws there are some
[14:11]other laws that also govern but those laws you don't see them
[14:16]they're hidden laws the hidden there are natural laws you want heat
[14:21]you have to go to fire for example that's natural law there
[14:25]are some natural laws of physics natural laws of thermodynamics natural and
[14:29]so on so forth there are laws conservation of mass conservation of
[14:34]energy etc these are laws allah subhanahu wa ta'ala has put you
[14:38]have an illness there is a medication imam al saddiq alaihis salam
[14:42]says every likulida in dawah every illness has a cure but we
[14:48]have not yet discovered the cure but every illness has a cure
[14:51]you have an illness you need to take the cure you need
[14:54]to take the medication of course the ultimate cure comes from allah
[14:57]subhanahu wa ta'ala but nonetheless these are laws these are laws this
[15:00]is a system however interestingly in the quran when allah describes the
[15:06]muttaqeen in this order that we have in the quran what is
[15:09]the first surah in the quran where's my friends here do you
[15:12]have any of my friends you my friends who are playing with
[15:14]your games yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah do you know what is
[15:17]the first surah in this quran what is the first surah in
[15:20]this quran not bakkah before bakkah before surah al baqqa what is
[15:26]surah al fatiha surah alhamdulillah masha'allah that's a good thing to learn
[15:31]okay so what is the first surah in the quran the second
[15:36]surah is what baqarah asaant my friend good good job the second
[15:44]ayah of surat al baqarah that book there is no doubt about
[15:51]it it's a guide to who muttaqeen what is the first description
[15:56]of the muttaqeen in the quran the first description the first description
[16:00]allah describes what is it those who believe in what in the
[16:12]unseen is therefore those who believe in the unseen that's the first
[16:21]description of the muttaqeen there is something hidden something's unseen for example
[16:27]i'll give you an example in surat nukh you know a man
[16:30]comes to a man comes to i believe imam saddiq alaihis salam
[16:36]if i'm not mistaken comes to imam saddiq alaihis salamu alaihis now
[16:39]we're fasting so i don't want to confirm for sure but one
[16:41]of the mahsoumeen alaihis salam he says i don't have money need
[16:46]rizq can you make dua what do i do give me a
[16:49]dua so that allah increases my rizq he said to him yes
[16:52]do istighfar say regularly he said okay jazakallah and he lives another
[16:59]man comes he says i i need boys i have girls mashaallah
[17:05]my wife gave birth to seven girls i want some boys mashaallah
[17:10]teach me something what do i do he said to him do
[17:12]istighfar do istighfar the man says i started doing istighfar 700 times
[17:17]every day 700 times every day allah gave me seven boys mashaallah
[17:21]after seven girls seven boys mashaallah mashaallah so do istighfar so a
[17:32]man comes i have problems i have issues can you help me
[17:38]what do i do he said do istighfar so there was a
[17:41]man sitting next to the the imam sallallahu alaihi said a man
[17:45]came asking you for you know money reserve you said do istighfar
[17:49]a man said i want boys you said do istighfar a man
[17:52]said i want allah to you know forgive me and do my
[17:55]wife you said do what is this you know istighfar istighfar this
[17:58]istighfar is for everything he said this is what the quran says
[18:17]says allah says in the quran say allah will forgive you do
[18:25]a it is zikr part of the zikr you do so allah
[18:35]will send metaphorically speaking grain grain is sustenance allah will give you
[18:44]and then what he will give you money and what else boys
[18:51]and then and he will give you jannah and anhag rivers inshaallah
[18:57]as well so this is what the quran says now a person
[19:00]says so this means i just sit at home and just do
[19:02]a stikfar this is a great business alhamdulillah wonderful just sit down
[19:07]no of course the human will not get but what he strives
[19:14]to achieve so you have to put in the effort you put
[19:18]in the effort and then you do the istighfar you do the
[19:20]istighfar the effort is the natural law you have to work you
[19:24]have to study this is the natural system but then there is
[19:28]some other system the hidden system system of ghayb when you do
[19:35]istighfar that system will also facilitate your success okay so that is
[19:42]part of what we need to know that's why allah subhanahu wa
[19:45]ta'ala describes those people who only live for this dunya they know
[19:55]they only know the surface the surface of this world but when
[20:02]it comes to the hidden secrets they don't know anything they don't
[20:05]know the akhirah so this sets the stage for now what we
[20:10]are about to discuss so bismillah rahmanir raheem verse number 60 of
[20:15]surat al kaf now the story begins with a conversation a conversation
[20:31]a conversation between musa alaihi salaam and fata he has a fata
[20:36]with him he has somebody with him who is this musa who
[20:42]is this musa always in the quran whenever allah mentions musa he
[20:50]refers to this musa so why would he in this case refer
[20:52]to some other musa and if he were referring to another musa
[20:56]he would have made a comment so that we would know because
[20:59]the minute we say musa kalas we think of musa ibn imran
[21:02]alaihis salam similarly these days you know the meaning in arabic so
[21:09]sometimes in arabic the meaning of salat salat in arabic means dua
[21:14]that's the meaning of salat that's the meaning of salat that's why
[21:18]when you hear for example some christians christians saying he does a
[21:22]lot of salat salat he's using the word in the arabic language
[21:26]in the literal sense which means he makes a lot of dua
[21:29]you know but in islam when it came that word changed contexts
[21:36]changed context now when you say salat what comes to your mind
[21:39]the first thing that comes to the mind is what the salat
[21:42]that we pray the prayers that we pray okay hajj hajj means
[21:48]intention al qaast to intent al qasli makalma'an hajj that's why non
[21:55]muslims you say i go to hajj where for example he goes
[21:58]to jerusalem for hajj he uses the word hajj in the literal
[22:04]context hajj in the literal meaning which means my intention is to
[22:08]go to hajj but in islam that word changed now when you
[22:12]say hajj what comes to the first thing comes to your mind
[22:15]the pilgrimage which is a wajjab hajj where you have to go
[22:18]to mecca for example and do tawaf and say and so on
[22:20]so forth that is hajj so there are some vocabulary that changes
[22:27]over time that changes over time and it has certain meanings but
[22:33]when it has that certain meaning now its standard it's now taken
[22:37]care of here when allah says musa the first thing that comes
[22:41]to mind is who musa ibn imran therefore this is musa ibn
[22:45]imran okay and not some other musa like some of the mufas
[22:49]syrians said some of the mufas syrians said this is a different
[22:51]musa not musa ibn imran musa who is the the grandson of
[22:56]yusuf alaihis salam they say but that's not true it's not the
[22:59]grandson of yusuf otherwise allah would have mentioned so musa ibn imran
[23:03]okay a conversation between musa and somebody musa said to his fatah
[23:13]why is he called fatah means he's strong strong musa himself was
[23:19]very strong musa was very strong allah says musa hit somebody one
[23:26]of the enemies and he the minute he hit him he killed
[23:29]him he was very strong and that's why he had to leave
[23:33]then firaun and leave bani israel and leave sorry leave the firaun
[23:37]and leave the palace leave the life of luxury and then he
[23:40]had to go into the life of poverty after this because he
[23:43]killed one of the pharaoh's supporters interestingly also when he went madian
[23:50]to madian to the city where prophet shu'aib was there and he
[23:55]saw the daughters of prophet shu'aib alaihis salam they were trying to
[23:59]do sikha sikha you know the well back in those days they
[24:02]would have this you know the well they would take you know
[24:04]the well and the water this is so heavy i don't know
[24:07]if you people have tried this in the past if you put
[24:10]a pail in into the water and try to pull it you
[24:13]might need two three people to pull it musa alaihis salaam came
[24:17]he saw those two ladies by themselves everybody's around the well and
[24:21]they're trying to pull the water that those two ladies don't have
[24:23]anything so he came to the people he said excuse me excuse
[24:26]me excuse me he was himself he pulled it like this and
[24:31]this is he was hungry and he did not have food for
[24:34]a few days but masha allah he pulled it like this people
[24:37]were like aajeeb who is this man who is this person like
[24:42]this he pulled it like nothing he's like pulling a feather but
[24:45]this is musa musa was strong was strong and therefore the one
[24:50]who needs to be his companion also needs to be strong because
[24:53]musa is going on a journey musa is going on a journey
[24:56]he doesn't want someone to say you rabbi allah know allah let
[25:01]us rest a little bit i want to catch my breath you
[25:04]know we're out of breath habib you know we need to go
[25:07]we need to keep going musa is strong he wants to go
[25:09]on a journey walking strong that's what he is telling his fatah
[25:13]i will not stop i will not stop until i reach the
[25:23]place where the two seas meet now where is that place we'll
[25:27]discuss it later oh i will continue i will continue even if
[25:32]i have to walk for years i will not stop until i
[25:36]reach so if he wants to continue for years the person who's
[25:39]walking with him has to be also strong enough to cope so
[25:44]that's why allah says here a few things why did musa set
[25:51]on this journey altogether what happened here it is said when musa
[25:55]alaihis salaam received the tawat he received the tawat in the tawat
[26:01]there was the akam tashree sharia sharia for example their hajj how
[26:07]to perform etc all the sharia were revealed to him the sharia
[26:12]and then he taught the sharia to bani israel a man from
[26:16]bani israel then came to musa alaihis salam after he was teaching
[26:21]the torah he told him you rabbi allah i don't think there
[26:27]is anyone who is more knowledgeable than you in this whole world
[26:32]in this whole world i don't think there is anyone more knowledgeable
[26:34]than you is there anyone more knowledgeable than you he asked him
[26:38]he said i don't think so no i don't think so i
[26:41]don't think there's anyone more knowledgeable than me oh some of them
[26:45]say that thought crossed his mind when he was teaching the tawat
[26:51]the thought crossed his mind that i am the most knowledgeable human
[26:55]alive on the face of the earth today when that thought crossed
[27:00]his mind allah told jibrael jibrael go down to musa quickly musa
[27:09]is about to destroy himself to ruin himself why he is thinking
[27:15]about what is ujjb ujjb is when i feel that there is
[27:23]no one better than me i pray salatul leil every night who
[27:29]is like me praying salatul leil every night mashaallah mashaallah i'm a
[27:33]good mu'min i fast the month of rajab sha'ban ramadan continuously mashaallah
[27:40]look at me great i'm a good alim i know everything that's
[27:46]that's when you become some form of arrogance a form of arrogance
[27:52]when you start to think that you're better than anyone else you
[27:55]may be better than anyone else maybe but you always have to
[27:59]be what humble you always have to be modest imam al hassan
[28:04]al mujtaba salaamullahi alaihi next week inshallah we'll be celebrating his birthday
[28:09]imam al hassan salaamullahi alaihi when he came back to medina after
[28:14]kufa after kufa he came back to medina you know when the
[28:17]khilafa was taken by muawi ibn abi sufyan then imam salamu alaihe
[28:23]shifted and moved back to medina when he came back to medina
[28:27]he lived a life of what mimi called today luxury life of
[28:31]luxury he had a big place he used to ride horses for
[28:34]example and so on so forth and maybe part of the reason
[28:40]why the imam did this is because people were leaving him leaving
[28:44]the imam sallamallallaahu alaihi to go to mawiya what for why would
[28:48]people go to mawiya money ascent people want money people want something
[28:53]imam salamallahi alaiheh maybe was trying to teach people not only mawiya
[28:59]has money we also we would have given you dunya and akhirah
[29:04]but you people ran after where after dunya you people ran after
[29:09]dunya we would have given you both dunya and akhira blessings in
[29:14]dunya and but you ran after him so maybe that's one of
[29:17]the reason why he lived anyways one day he was on his
[29:19]horse he was on his horse and he came across a group
[29:25]of people on the street they live on the street they don't
[29:27]have no home homeless people who are homeless people who are homeless
[29:31]what kind of food do you think they'll have you know what
[29:34]kind of food they will have they'll have qema qurmasabzi they'll have
[29:38]you know fazanjun they will have what will have oh they don't
[29:41]have that stuff they will have some bread dry bread bread crumbs
[29:47]they looked at him and they said to him yabna rasulallah why
[29:51]don't you join us for lunch imam al hassan salaam alaihe alaihe
[29:56]at his time he was sayyid bani hashim he is wealthy masha'allah
[30:02]he is the son of rasoolallah sallallaho alaihi wa'alehi so and he
[30:06]is an imam al ma'asoom so if you talk about worldly he
[30:09]is the head of the tribe sayid al ashira in the worldly
[30:13]matter he is one of the heads of medina leaders he is
[30:18]the son of rasulullah you know he's got all this he came
[30:22]off his horse he sat down on the floor on the ground
[30:26]on the ground he didn't say my clothes are going to get
[30:28]dirty no no no he sat with them on the ground on
[30:32]the dust and ate with them the pieces of crumbs he ate
[30:36]it then he told them i accepted your invitation now i want
[30:42]you to accept my invitation you all come with me now to
[30:47]my house for lunch and he takes them all to lunch and
[30:52]he serves them with lunch yeah this is the tawawa even though
[30:56]he is sayyid shababi ahlil jannah yet he sits on the floor
[31:00]on the ground and he does not say oh what is this
[31:04]what is what now this is the tawawa this is what allah
[31:08]accepts of people musa alaihis salam had this cross the thought crossed
[31:13]his mind the thought crossed the mind of musa alaihis salam musa
[31:18]is a prophet of allah allah has high expectations of his prophets
[31:22]not like you and i not like you and i the prophets
[31:26]even when the thought crosses their mind allah holds them accountable so
[31:30]allah sent jibrael said you jibrael go tell him tell him there
[31:34]is someone who is more knowledgeable than you go and learn from
[31:38]him there is a you need to go and learn from this
[31:43]where is this where can i find him yaj ibrahim the scholar
[31:48]who is more knowledgeable than me where can i find him he
[31:52]told him and the majma al bahrain where the two seas meet
[31:56]that's where you meet him so musa immediately set his goal he
[32:01]set his goal to go and meet this man whom is at
[32:05]majma al bahrain he did not say what i am the most
[32:10]knowledgeable he is of a prophet of allah but he went he
[32:16]went there quickly and then he said to his fata to the
[32:20]man who was with him who apparently they say was yusha ibn
[32:25]nun yusha ibn nun was the successor of musa was musa was
[32:30]musa not harun harun was older than musa alaihi salam harun was
[32:35]his brother harun died at the time of musa harun died salamu
[32:41]alaihi alaihi so who was the successor was sayyaw musa it was
[32:46]yusha ibn nun this man yusha he was with him his fatah
[32:49]and he tells his fatah i will continue regardless i will not
[32:54]stop this is something important we'll spend the last few minutes about
[32:57]brothers and sisters it's important to know when you have a goal
[33:03]in life to be successful you must have a goal in life
[33:08]when you talk to successful people one of the reasons why they
[33:13]become successful is they have a goal a goal so that's a
[33:19]goal second thing for successful people is they have a plan goal
[33:26]and a plan without a goal without a plan you cannot become
[33:31]successful you can't it's impossible remember in 2008 the financial crisis in
[33:37]2008 as a consequence of that crisis if you remember there was
[33:42]a movement that came out called the we are the ninety nine
[33:44]percent movement they came into wall street they even came to toronto
[33:48]and to bay street those people camped out and they said we
[33:52]are the 99% it was a big movement became a movement i
[33:57]remember reading an article in the globe and mail newspaper in the
[34:01]globe and mail newspaper back then back then one of the journalists
[34:06]says i went to where those people have camped on bay street
[34:10]where have they camped i met some interviews i told them okay
[34:15]you guys say we are the 99% what do you guys want
[34:19]i mean what's your goal the man he said the people i
[34:23]interviewed they said well we're the 99% we're the 99% okay i
[34:26]understand what do you guys want we don't know so what's your
[34:32]plan i mean okay you're the 99% suppose the government now comes
[34:36]out and says okay we're going to listen to you guys what
[34:39]do you want what do you want what's your plan we don't
[34:42]know one person said you know you know i'm here just because
[34:48]you know the others my friends have came to camp you know
[34:51]so i came with them you know that's why i'm here to
[34:53]be honest with you i'm it's nice camping outside that's why i'm
[34:57]here interestingly the journalist then said something this was when the movement
[35:02]was still going the journalist then made a comment he said this
[35:06]movement is going to fail this movement is going to fail why
[35:12]a movement that does not have a leader who's the leader nobody
[35:17]who's leading it nobody a movement that does not have goals and
[35:23]a movement that does not have a plan this is a movement
[35:26]that's going to fail and indeed he was right look at what
[35:29]happened now it was such a great opportunity of people had the
[35:33]right leadership if they had the right goals if they had the
[35:37]right plan this was an opportunity to make a change but there
[35:41]was nothing and therefore they will fail that's how to fail in
[35:44]order to have success you need to have a leadership the right
[35:48]leadership you need to have the goals you need to have the
[35:51]plans in addition to this what else goals plans leadership what else
[35:56]do you need you all need to be have patience patience patience
[36:01]part of patience is perseverance determination every successful person you'll see in
[36:07]the world everybody he'll tell you he'll speak to you about their
[36:10]experiences how many times they failed you know interestingly when we're doing
[36:15]our you know my graduate school when i was doing my phd
[36:18]know they say when you write your thesis the thesis is maybe
[36:22]about what 300 pages 300 pages you spend five years doing your
[36:27]phd six years doing your phd seven years doing your phd and
[36:30]then you write it all down in what 300 pages 300 pages
[36:35]they say the 300 pages is your success stories otherwise if you
[36:40]were to write about your failures then it would be you know
[36:44]2,005 pages long seven years seven years how many times the experiment
[36:50]fails and you do it again and it fails and you do
[36:52]it again until it succeeds once it succeeds then you repeat it
[36:56]alhamdulillah halal and you write down in a paper that's maybe two
[36:59]three pages long that's a success story what about the failures so
[37:04]really interesting a person who is successful learns from his mistakes learns
[37:09]from the mistakes although although having said this in science even failures
[37:14]are important even failures are important because if i do an experiment
[37:19]and it fails i document i document so that next time when
[37:23]i do i don't repeat the same mistake so even failures are
[37:28]also learning experiences that's why it's important it's important for people to
[37:36]learn from their mistakes to be determined to move on otherwise successful
[37:43]people will not succeed do you guys know who discovered the light
[37:48]know naved do you know who discovered the light don't know who
[37:51]discovered the light you guys say do you know who discovered the
[37:54]light you don't know who discovered the light what's what's up with
[37:57]you guys masha allah mohammed is he telling you your dad's telling
[38:03]you who discovered the light the light bulb the light bulb who
[38:06]discovered it edison alhamdulillah edison discovered the light bulb interestingly edison and
[38:14]by the way the sisters figured it out before you guys you
[38:16]know to be fair yani just to be fair they they they
[38:19]figured it out before you guys edison you know interestingly of course
[38:23]edison was a wealthy man a wealthy man and his goal was
[38:26]not qur'bat he wanted to make money out of this he realized
[38:29]this is something where he can make money out of it nonetheless
[38:32]edison had employees lots of employees they brought the periodic table of
[38:37]his time the periodic table they brought it he told his employees
[38:41]i want each and every one of you to work on every
[38:44]element a solid element on the periodic table for example they want
[38:49]to make a filament a filament that can have light and does
[38:54]not burn out quickly so what do they do so they tried
[38:59]everything they tried zinc it failed gold failed silver failed copper failed
[39:07]and and and until they hit as they called the jackpot although
[39:12]we shouldn't be saying jackpot here on the mumbai nonetheless they hit
[39:17]the bull's eye what was it finally you remember do you know
[39:23]tungsten ascentum tungsten tungsten was the key tungsten succeeded so interestingly he
[39:30]says if people only realize how close they are to success they
[39:37]would not quit if people realize how close they are to successful
[39:42]this is being successful because every failure is one step closer to
[39:47]success but what you have to do is you have to learn
[39:50]you have to learn otherwise you'll keep on making the same mistakes
[39:55]and you'll say you know what i'm going to keep on failing
[39:58]and nothing will happen so people who are successful they must have
[40:02]the right leadership how do you learn from this leadership you learn
[40:07]from you listen from him you learn from him listen learn from
[40:12]their experiences and then you have to have a goal you have
[40:17]to have a plan you have to have the patience and the
[40:20]perseverance and the determination and then you need some courage you need
[40:25]some courage to go here is what we learned from musa musa
[40:29]has a goal his goal is to go and meet al abdul
[40:33]salih this alam he wants to go meet him he says i
[40:38]will not stop i will continue on going until i meet him
[40:42]okay so he keeps on going he has a determination he has
[40:46]the patience and he keeps on going and we'll come to the
[40:50]story later on where he misses him but then he comes back
[40:54]he misses him but then he comes back later on as we
[40:57]will find out inshaallah in the next few nights one thing about
[41:01]today today is the sixth day of the holy month of ramadan
[41:04]brothers and sisters it's a good thing to share the sixth day
[41:07]of the holy month of ramadan coincides with imam riva salaam wa
[41:15]sallam imam riva alaihi wa sallam when al mun al abbasi brought
[41:20]him over from medina to khurasan to make him you know the
[41:24]pardisha to make him the wali al ahad he meant to make
[41:28]him wali al ahad it was on the sixth day of the
[41:31]holy month of ramadan when al ma'mun al abbasi announced publicly that
[41:38]today is officially ali ibn musa riva sallamahu alaihi that's from me
[41:43]of course not from ma'mun he is going to be my waliyul
[41:47]ahad therefore people come and pledge your allegiance so people came and
[41:58]for the first time first time after many years the shia were
[42:02]hiding their faith they were in persecution they came and they did
[42:06]bayah to their imam when they came al ma'mun said means extend
[42:17]your hand like this so that they can shake your hand and
[42:19]pledge your hand he said no that's not how rasulullah did the
[42:22]bayah how imam abu ghraibah put his hand on the top he
[42:27]said everyone come and put your hand on the bottom you know
[42:35]the hand of allah is on top of their hand he says
[42:38]that's how rasulullah sallallahu alaihi wa'alehi did the bayah and that's how
[42:42]i do the bayah so he did the bayah like this and
[42:46]that was a day of eid that's why sheikh abbas al qummeen
[42:49]maffatiq says this day the sixth day of ramadan is a day
[42:52]of eid for the shia because first time after many years they
[42:57]were able to express their love their wilaya their bayah their allegiance
[43:02]to their imam raise your hands now for the time of dua
[44:13]inshaallah now that we mentioned the name of imam abu ghraibah inshaallah
[44:18]we are the guests of imam abu ghraibah on this night which
[44:20]is also happens to be laylatul jumu'ah inshaallah dua is accepted inshaallah
[44:25]inshaallah if you have a hajj now pray to allah inshaallah
