[1:43]a shock in the world all over the world people heard about

[1:50]it and all over the world people were moved by this incident

[1:54]however there are several very important points that we should think about

[2:04]we should consider the first is that this was not an isolated

[2:10]incident as some make it seem this attack was premeditated this attack

[2:19]was planned for it was prepared for and in fact the criminal

[2:24]the terrorist criminal who carried out this attack had a 70 page

[2:30]manifesto written and in it he's talking about white supremacy he's talking

[2:40]about immigrants and how they're destroying the fabric of society and he's

[2:48]accusing Muslims and accusing minorities of destroying the fabric of society so

[2:56]if this attack says anything it wakes people up to the reality

[3:03]that we have been living for decades now and that is the

[3:08]reality of Islamophobia perhaps some people questioned whether a Slama phobia exists

[3:14]or does not exist although it did exist and it's had a

[3:20]history a very long history this attack alerted some people who were

[3:24]unaware of the reality of Islamophobia that exists in society today in

[3:33]fact aslam phobia is a type of hate which is not very

[3:37]different from other types of hate you see especially here in the

[3:41]United States and the West this country deals with a lot of

[3:50]many different types of hate you have hate that is true hate

[3:53]that is directed towards Jews anti-semitism you have hate that is directed

[4:01]towards black people you have hate that is directed towards immigrants you

[4:07]have hate that is directed towards minorities towards Asians towards many different

[4:13]groups of people and you also have a type of hate that

[4:19]is directed towards Muslims and this is referred to as Islamic obeah

[4:22]now you see in the media and politics many of the other

[4:29]different types of hates are addressed many of the other types of

[4:33]hates are dealt with politicians the media they're all very cautious from

[4:39]this type of hate but when it comes to Muslims and Islam

[4:45]you see there's this carelessness you see that the media does not

[4:50]care and politicians are even worse they don't care at all while

[4:53]they would be very careful and very cautious to undermine and attack

[5:00]other groups of people of course this is no denying that other

[5:06]groups of people other minorities are not attacked are not hated upon

[5:10]other minorities are also hated upon but you see that when it's

[5:13]Muslims that are being attacked there's the sense of carelessness there's the

[5:19]sense of who cares there's the sense of so what and this

[5:25]alerts us to the reality that aslam phobia and other types of

[5:31]hate are institutionalized in society institutionalized within the media institutionalized at the

[5:42]political level when you have the highest person in office the president

[5:47]he goes and he says Islam hates us he comes and he

[5:52]says we want to ban all Muslims from entering into the United

[5:57]States isn't this institutionalized hate from the highest levels of power from

[6:03]the highest office of power and that's the office of the presidency

[6:08]when you see Muslim politicians entering into the political realm entering into

[6:15]Congress entering into the House of Representatives as soon as they enter

[6:19]their american-ness is questioned because they're Muslim for some reason they're not

[6:27]going to be as American as someone else for some reason they're

[6:31]not going to be as loyal to the United States Constitution and

[6:35]to democracy as everyone else just because they're Muslim this is why

[6:41]their questions and in fact you see that some take it so

[6:43]far they say that if they want even if they want to

[6:48]question the legitimacy of someone who's not a Muslim they accused that

[6:52]person of being a Muslim so B being a Muslim is a

[6:57]crime for some people and this is what they did with Obama

[7:02]Obama how many times was he accused of being a Muslim he

[7:03]says I'm not a Muslim he's celebrating Christmas he's doing everything that

[7:09]non-muslims do but because they have something against him because of their

[7:15]racism because of other issues they have against him they accuse him

[7:19]of being a Muslim and the media who's supposed to be the

[7:27]representative of the people and speaking on behalf of the people and

[7:31]representing the people you see that the media goes worse the media

[7:34]allows this hatred the media allows this negative depiction of Muslims to

[7:41]carry on the ACLU the american civil Civil Liberties Union says that

[7:50]3/4 75% of the terrorist attacks that take place in the United

[7:57]States they're carried out by domestic terrorists who are white supremacists 3/4

[8:04]of the terrorist Accent take place in the United States are carried

[8:10]out by white supremacist against blacks whites Mexicans minorities Muslims Jews whatever

[8:18]it is but the media when you're sitting and watching Fox News

[8:23]or you're watching CNN or you're watching the media channels do they

[8:27]give you the impression that 3/4 of the attacks are carried out

[8:32]by white supremacists or they give you the impression that 90% or

[8:36]99% of the terrorist attacks are carried out by Muslims which one

[8:40]is it they give you the impression that it's the Muslims that

[8:45]are synonymous that are synonymous with terrorism and this is why you

[8:53]see that whenever a I'm a terrorist act is committed by other

[8:58]groups of people by different groups of people they carry out an

[9:05]act of terror the media will use all the words in the

[9:08]book but they will try to refrain from using the word terrorist

[9:11]they say this person is deranged this person has mental issues this

[9:16]person is sick this person has had a bad childhood this person

[9:20]is this and that but they won't use the word terrorist because

[9:24]the media has given the Muslims a special rank of appreciation where

[9:29]that title is only given to the Muslims as if no one

[9:35]else commits an act of terror and as if the Muslims are

[9:40]never deranged as if the Muslims have no psychotic issues but everyone

[9:45]else does have these issues so you see that the media to

[9:49]an extent also allows this to take place and the problem with

[9:56]this my dear brothers and sisters is that this institutionalized aslam phobia

[10:02]has repercussions has repercussions on the overall well-being of society has repercussions

[10:07]on the national political atmosphere has repercussions in terms of the polarization

[10:16]that's going to taking place in society when a when a person

[10:22]on top when a person in positions of power uses language of

[10:25]hate this is going to allow other people to use languages of

[10:28]hate this is going to give other people the green light to

[10:34]attack and to threaten and to use languages of hate when these

[10:38]people follow their leaders people follow their leaders and when they see

[10:43]that the media is giving a green light to accusations and attacks

[10:47]and misconceptions against Islam and Muslims there are repercussions last week we

[10:56]witnessed one of the most severe types of repercussions where over 50

[11:01]people were killed their only crime was that they're gathered in a

[11:06]Masjid to pray many of them were jeez many of them were

[11:12]individuals who were contributing to society members of society and of course

[11:19]just from last week until today I heard I read in the

[11:23]news that four mosques in Australia were vandalized several mosques in the

[11:30]United States and several mosques in United Kingdom in Birmingham they were

[11:34]vandalized so that means that this Islamophobia did not stop it's not

[11:37]coming to a stop and it won't come to a stop until

[11:42]something that's done about it by those individuals who are institutionalized by

[11:46]the positions of power were institutionalizing this Islamophobia by the media and

[11:54]by the Muslims to actually do something so you see that there

[12:00]are repercussions and some of those repercussions have to do with Muslims

[12:05]themselves you find some Muslims after the attacks after this terrorist attack

[12:11]against Muslims some Muslims are afraid to come to the Masjid I

[12:15]heard of a community that ended up cancelling their programs they ended

[12:20]up canceling their programs because they don't know what's going to happen

[12:25]it's caused fear in the hearts of many people many most mosques

[12:28]they ended up calling the police to come and bring security they

[12:32]installed cameras they started doing things to take measures of precaution to

[12:37]protect to protect themselves because who knows anyone could come and carry

[12:43]out a crime so this is a reality my dear brothers and

[12:47]sisters and we have to be aware of this reality and we

[12:53]have to let the whole world know about this reality another issue

[12:57]my dear brothers and sisters is that we cannot be selective in

[13:05]our outrage today you find in the media there is selective outrage

[13:11]some groups of people they deserve for us to sit and cry

[13:13]over them for a week for a month and another group of

[13:17]people they're killed they died there like they're treated like flies you

[13:21]know they fall they die anything happens to them no one cares

[13:27]about them no one cares and this is also institutionalized from the

[13:32]media and at the political level but at the end of the

[13:36]day my dear brothers and sisters hate is hate the that cruel

[13:43]act of hate this is a this is a cruel act it

[13:51]doesn't matter who it's going to and lives our lives people being

[13:54]killed in this type of the world and this part of the

[13:58]world or people killed in this part of the world a life

[14:31]they deserve to live while others don't deserve to live or because

[14:36]of the religion that they believe in they deserve to live happily

[14:40]and others don't deserve to live happily who said that who creates

[14:44]this it's the humans it's the humans that create this where they

[14:49]create caste systems and levels in society and they place certain groups

[14:57]of people in certain categories this is something that the religion of

[15:02]Islam and in fact all divine religions stand against this no religion

[17:54]they use their own religion to say that our religion favors us

[18:04]between the Muslim and the non-muslim in terms of human rights because

[18:07]there are rights that allah subhanaw taala has given us even if

[18:11]a person is a kafir even if a person is a non-muslim

[18:20]person of life and Allah subhana Allah allowed that person to breathe

[20:24]the only way we will succeed is when we bring all of

[20:30]the brains when we bring everyone together to work on a project

[20:34]to work on something that is when you see all of society

[20:36]will stand and this is something that we should keep in the

[20:41]back of our mind when we are doing anything in a masjid

[20:43]a message' that has everyone united is much better than a masjid

[20:49]that has one group of people when it comes to a project

[20:51]when it comes to doing many things try to bring all of

[20:55]the minds try to gather different groups of people because another person

[20:59]might have an idea that i cannot think of another person might

[21:02]be able to contribute something that i won't be able to contribute

[21:06]so Allah subhana WA Ta'ala in fact sees the differences in language

[21:12]the differences in culture as a plus Allah subhanAllah sees that as

[21:19]one of the miracles of God imagine if Allah created us all

[22:47]if you see yourself you're better and you deserve to live happy

[22:50]you deserve to be full you deserve to have money and other

[22:57]people don't then this is not religiosity at all one day Allah

[25:57]hate and this is Haram this is forbidden and the religion of

[26:00]Islam because some people they have selective outrage if the Muslims are

[26:06]the victims then we sit and we cry and we talk about

[26:08]them but if a another group of people are the victims we

[26:11]don't want to say anything we don't want to talk about it

[26:14]no this is also wrong this is also wrong and this selective

[26:20]outrage sometimes it's carried out by Muslims and many times its carried

[26:23]out by the media many times its carried out by those still

[26:27]at the levels of power of course when we're talking about sama

[26:32]phobia this doesn't mean that that everyone in society has hatred towards

[26:39]Muslims no there are some Muslims that deny that Islamic phobia exists

[26:45]why because alhamdulillah he has a nice car he has a good

[26:47]job he has never had any problems so they come and they

[26:52]deny it for anyone else no this is also a wrong thinking

[26:53]just because you feel safe and you feel comfortable that doesn't mean

[26:57]that other people are being are not being persecuted or are being

[27:05]persecuted so we have to be able to understand that different people

[27:08]are going through different problems different people have fears in their hearts

[27:14]and of course we also should not deny the outpouring of love

[27:18]that is taking place you know the Solidarity that Muslims are experiencing

[27:24]I received several emails from a church I went to they sent

[27:29]me an email and they're saying we you know you are a

[27:31]part of our community you're a part of our society and this

[27:36]was a message of solidarity that we received in fact this message

[27:39]in' they came and they place something in front of the door

[27:44]of the masjid showing love will defeat hate so many although we

[27:48]do live in a time of Islamophobia and a time of many

[27:54]you know in a time of hate that is directed towards Muslims

[27:58]Jews Christians whatever it is minorities but there's also a lot of

[28:02]love that has taken place and we have to consider that we

[28:07]have to appreciate the love that is taking place in society now

[28:11]what can we do how do we deal with this Islamophobia that

[28:19]exists several points the first point my dear brothers and sisters is

[28:24]that we have to understand that although we live in an era

[28:28]of Islamic obeah where mosques are being you know attacked and and

[28:35]people at vandalized and people are afraid for their religion afraid for

[28:40]their faith this what Muslims are experiencing right now or what minorities

[28:45]are experiencing right now is nothing new Islamic phobia for some people

[28:49]they came to realize that Osama phobia exists after 9/11 but the

[28:53]fact of the matter that as tsommo phobia has existed ever since

[29:05]this hatred of Muslims and the ideology that comes with Muslims and

[31:43]not where there are other other groups your your the muslims and

[31:47]there are non-muslims living in the society but if one group is

[31:52]suffering all of society is going to suffer so this can be

[31:55]used for Muslims and this could be used for all of society

[31:59]as a whole when a small group of people are suffering in

[32:02]the United States whether they're Muslim or their non-muslim everyone will feel

[32:06]the pain in one way or another and this is what a

[34:10]many Muslims are able to defend the Quran how many Muslims are
