[0:00]classes on the Hajj and the Hajj is a sacred journey to
[0:08]Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala and it is a trip not like any
[0:15]other trips that you take in your life.
[0:17]Many of you have traveled many times in your lives.
[0:22]We've all traveled.
[0:21]But this journey is a different one because this is a journey
[0:26]where we are answering the invitation of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
[0:33]So the whole journey from A to Z in fact many of
[0:42]you have already started the first process of the Hajj and that
[0:45]is getting your passport ready getting your Nusuk application all of that
[0:51]falls under the scope of all of that is a form of
[0:54]worship it's bringing you closer to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala so the
[1:03]the trip as a whole is worship.
[1:05]Just like salah right now we just prayed that was worship.
[1:08]This whole trip you sitting in the plane you walking to the
[1:14]hotel you walking to the haram looking at thea going to visit
[1:18]doing the in in this is all an act of worship.
[1:24]So it's a when it's an act of worship here you have
[1:30]to treat it differently.
[1:30]Now, now sometimes I have to be patient.
[1:37]I have to be controlling of my desires, of myself, of my
[1:42]anger because we're all in a state of and we are answering
[1:49]the invitation of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
[1:51]So on the first slide that I have, if you could go
[1:53]to the first slide, Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala talks about thea and
[2:02]haram and the history.
[2:06]Just a brief background of where we're going.
[2:09]We're going to the first place of worship on earth and that
[2:17]is where Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala describes thea and the thea which
[2:23]is the direction that we pray to that black cube and the
[2:30]whole mazjid in that area that is a sacred ground and that
[2:32]is the first place of worship on earth.
[2:35]Allah says in the Quran Will the first place of worship that
[2:46]Allah subhana wa ta'ala placed on this earth was haram and thea
[2:53]and then Allah says in the Quran in in Mecca it is
[2:59]mubarak it is a blessed place and it is a place of
[3:03]haya a place of guidance that is where you find the truth
[3:06]that is where Your soul finds the truth when you look at
[3:12]thea and you're guided to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala within it there
[3:19]are clear signs from amongst the signs that everyone will see in
[3:25]thea or next to thea is Allah says in the Quran over
[3:32]there you're going to see the the place the foot the footprints
[3:35]the standing place of prophet Ibrahim am and Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
[3:42]when talking about the Hajj mentions Ibraim because probably 90% of the
[3:50]Hajj has to do with Ibraimis and the sacrifices of Ibraim and
[3:55]Hajar the wife of Ibraim and is the son of Ibraim Ibraim
[3:58]was the one who built the Kaa Ibraim's wife Hajar was the
[4:04]one who was running between Safa and Marwa Ibraim He came to
[4:08]slaughter his son to make a sacrifice.
[4:10]Ibraim was the one who threw the stones atl.
[4:14]And this is all something that we are all going to do
[4:18]during the we are following in the footprints of Ibraim and the
[4:24]family of Ibraim because Ibraim was the father of monotheism because Ibraim
[4:28]was the father of he's the one who brought to ushed.
[4:33]So And then Allah says when you enter in Haram that is
[4:49]a sanctuary that is a safe haven.
[4:51]Even we have in our traditions and our teachings you're not allowed
[4:55]to remove a plant.
[4:59]A plant is safe.
[4:59]an animal, whatever it is, who whoever enters into that place, you
[5:04]have entered into the sanctuary of God.
[5:06]And this is the safest place on earth where we are going,
[5:13]especially haram and thea because you have that physical safety where no
[5:17]one is allowed to touch you.
[5:18]And that is why haram is called haram.
[5:21]Why?
[5:22]Because everything becomes haram in there.
[5:25]It's haram to break the sanctity of the of the place.
[5:27]It's haram to hurt anyone.
[5:29]It's haram to do and you're all you're in a state of
[5:31]and Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala from amongst the greatest blessings is that
[5:35]Allah subhanana wa ta'ala forgives all of the sins of the all
[5:43]of the sins.
[5:41]Imagine you go as one person and you come back as a
[5:50]totally different person.
[5:49]You go carrying sins on your back.
[5:53]the burdens that we have, the loads of sins that we have
[6:01]accumulated on our shoulders and you come back very light.
[6:03]You come back with Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala having forgiven you for
[6:07]everything.
[6:08]This is one of the promises of the Hajj.
[6:12]Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala forgives the and from amongst the blessings is
[6:17]Allah answers your duas.
[6:21]We have in the narration that the first time your eye sets
[6:26]on the Kaa.
[6:27]The first time your eye falls on the Kaa.
[6:30]And you, how many of you this is going to be your
[6:35]first time seeing the Kaa?
[6:36]Mashallah.
[6:37]The majority.
[6:36]You're when you see the Kaa, that is a sight that you
[6:42]will never forget in your life.
[6:43]The fact that you see thousands of people circumambulating around the Kaa.
[6:49]This is the very same Kaa that was built by Ibraim.
[6:53]In fact, the foundations of the Kaa were built by prophet Adam.
[6:58]Adam, our father.
[7:00]And then Ibraim Allah says Ibraim raised the foundations of thea and
[7:12]walked over here.
[7:15]The imams of the B and the im of our time according
[7:21]to narrations he also attends the Hajj.
[7:24]You might be walking and doing and your shoulder might hit with
[7:27]the shoulder of the imam.
[7:29]You don't know.
[7:32]This is why when we are in Hajj, we're in a state
[7:37]of from A to Z.
[7:37]And we have to keep that in mind, my dear brothers and
[7:41]sisters.
[7:42]One thing I remind myself and I remind every single one of
[7:44]us, we have to consider this trip as an a trip of
[7:50]worship.
[7:51]If we do so, then everything will be different.
[7:54]Then I'm going to I'm not going to get angry over things
[7:56]that I usually get angry about.
[7:57]I'm not going to get upset.
[8:00]I'm going to be very careful.
[8:01]Things are not going to go our way.
[8:04]I'm telling you from now, things are not going to go our
[8:05]way over there because you have chaos.
[8:08]It's 3 million, four million people are there.
[8:11]People from all over the world.
[8:14]But there is beauty in that because that's where you see Islam.
[8:19]If you want to take a snapshot image of Islam, look at
[8:22]mazjid alam and you see all of the Muslims different the the
[8:26]white and the black and the Asian and the Indian and the
[8:29]African and from all over the world.
[8:31]You see people all for one purpose answering the call of Ibraim.
[8:38]Ibraim when he built the Kaa when he built the Kaa Ibraimis
[8:45]Allah subhanaa go to the next the the following slide after Ibraim
[8:53]built thea Ibraim he was in Jerusalem but Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
[8:58]commanded Ibraim he was married to Sah and when he had his
[9:04]son is Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala to not break the heart of
[9:08]Sara his first wife who was with him from the beginning and
[9:14]she could not have a child at that time later on she
[9:19]did have is and through a concubine through Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
[9:24]granted Ibraim is to not break the heart of S Allah subhanahu
[9:29]wa ta'ala tells Ibraim go and place and is in this barren
[9:36]land.
[9:37]So he goes and he takes them in a land that had
[9:40]nothing.
[9:40]Right now when you go you're going to see mashallah skyscrapers and
[9:44]McDonald's and Starbucks and burger and all of these everything that you
[9:49]crave, you're going to see it over there.
[9:53]But there was a time actually maybe just 10 years ago, 20
[9:55]years ago, none of that was there.
[9:57]This transformation that we're seeing, this is a transformation that took place.
[10:01]I remember the first time I went to Hajj, half of this
[10:05]was not there.
[10:05]And you see before it used to be a valley, a valley
[10:12]surrounded by mountains and the Kaa was built there.
[10:17]Allah ordered Ibraim to build the Kaa.
[10:20]He comes and he leaves his family there.
[10:20]And he tells Allah after he leaves his family, Allah tells him
[10:25]now go back to Jerusalem.
[10:25]He tells him I leave S and Haj here all alone.
[10:30]Allah tells him yes I will take care of them.
[10:35]And this is what happened.
[10:35]He says, "I've left my my progyny.
[10:43]I've been I'm an old man.
[10:45]I've been waiting to have a child.
[10:46]Allah granted me a child.
[10:46]Now Allah says, leave them and go go back.
[10:49]You have to go keep going between Jerusalem and Mecca." He says,
[10:52]"I left my family in a barren land that does not have
[10:56]any trees, that does not have any water, but next to your
[11:05]sacred place of worship so that they pray and then Allah subhana
[11:09]ta we will inshallah over there go over the story of Ibraim
[11:14]is he gets older.
[11:15]She ends up discovering the water of Zam.
[11:18]She starts running between between Saf and Marwa.
[11:23]Her son is crying.
[11:23]Suddenly she sees Ismael has gone quiet.
[11:27]She thinks her son has died.
[11:29]She goes she runs to him and she sees water coming out
[11:32]of the ground and she starts saying zum zum zum zum.
[11:37]In her language she's trying to say stop and this became known
[11:40]as the well of zum.
[11:42]As a result of that well that spring of zum zum birds
[11:46]started flying in the area.
[11:48]tribes they saw birds flying over that valley in Mecca and then
[11:52]people came and settled and that's the beginning of the story of
[11:54]Mecca and from the progeny of Ibraim he had is from is
[12:04]many generations later comes in Mecca but Ibraim after Allah tested him
[12:09]with slaughtering his son then he passed that test and Allah tells
[12:12]him build the Kaa with your son is after you built the
[12:17]Kaa.
[12:18]He built the Kaba.
[12:20]It was only him and his son and his wife.
[12:22]They were the only monotheist.
[12:23]Allah tells him now, "Oh Ibraim, go and stand on this mountain
[12:27]and invite people to come and visit my home." So Ibraimis, Allah
[12:40]tells him, "Go and call, go and invite people.
[12:45]They come walking on their feet and proclaim the Hajj to the
[12:52]people.
[12:53]They will come to you on foot and on every lean camel
[13:00]and alhamdulillah we're flying.
[13:01]So and they will come from every distant pass from the corners
[13:10]of the world.
[13:10]Everyone gathers during the time of the Hajj in Mecca that they
[13:19]witness benefits for themselves and they mention the name of Allah on
[13:22]known days.
[13:23]This is why someone comes and says why can't I go to
[13:29]Hajj now?
[13:26]No, Hajj is during the month of and there are specific days
[13:32]that are the days of the Hajj.
[13:33]That's why we're going right now.
[13:34]Sometimes in the past I went to Hajj it was in the
[13:39]winter.
[13:39]Now Hajj is going to be in the summer.
[13:41]So seasons change just like the month of Ramadan changes.
[13:43]This is the time that we perform the Hajj and Ibraim he
[13:49]stood on the mountain and he called out.
[13:52]Oh people come and answer the Hajj.
[13:55]But at that time there was no Muslim.
[14:00]At that time there was no monotheist.
[14:03]But the hadith says when Ibraim made that call, our souls, our
[14:09]souls in in the world of particles before we even come to
[14:14]this existence, our souls existed, our souls, they answered the call.
[14:21]So he said, "Come to the house of Allah." And the souls
[14:24]of the and the believers they began to say what does mean?
[14:32]It means oh Allah you invited me.
[14:35]I'm answering the call.
[14:38]And this is what we say to enter into the state ofam.
[14:41]This is the first part of the Hajj when we're wearing theam.
[14:47]In order to initiate theam, we're going to have to say and
[14:51]we will talk about that inshallah.
[14:52]And the hadith says that the number of times your soul said
[14:59]in the world of particles, the number of times your soul answered
[15:06]that is the number of times you go to.
[15:10]Some people they did not reply.
[15:12]Some people they did not respond to the invite of God.
[15:17]Other people they responded once, some people twice, some people three times,
[15:23]some people 50 times.
[15:23]The number of times your soul responded, that is the number of
[15:29]times you go.
[15:28]And the hadith says ask Allah to grant you the Hajj, not
[15:34]just once, multiple times in your life.
[15:36]If God answers that dua, Allah will keep you alive so that
[15:40]you keep performing the Hajj.
[15:40]So this is one of the ways you want Allah to prolong
[15:45]your life.
[15:47]Say, "Oh Allah, grant me the Hajj." Then hadith with Imdam, a
[15:50]man he prayed to perform the Hajj 50 times.
[15:53]And he came to the Imam and he tells the imam, I
[15:57]asked Allah that I performed that at that time Hajj was easier
[15:59]from Medina to Mecca.
[16:01]So he says, I asked Allah to grant me the Hajj 50
[16:03]times.
[16:04]When the man left the imam says this man his death is
[16:09]going to come near because he stopped it at 50 if he
[16:14]would have asked for more.
[16:15]Now of course everyone has a everyone has a destiny but if
[16:19]Allah answers that dua then that means this is the time that
[16:26]we will perform the Hajj.
[16:27]So Hajj is an invitation from Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
[16:31]Now my dear brothers and sisters we have can we go to
[16:39]the next slide please?
[16:37]The Hajj is not waj upon every person.
[16:43]See there are certain there are certain obligations that are always waj.
[16:51]For example salah is there a time that salah is not waj
[16:54]upon anyone?
[16:56]No.
[16:56]Salah is always waj.
[17:00]No one could come and say I'm I'm ill.
[17:03]Salah is not waj.
[17:03]Yes, a lady for example during her there's a brief period where
[17:08]um at that time she does not pray but otherwise salah is
[17:13]always waj but other obligations they change based on circumstances.
[17:19]So for example, if you're fa fasting is fasting always waj no
[17:26]fasting is not waj upon the person who's sick or somewhat if
[17:34]you're sick or you're traveling then you make it up later on
[17:38]similarly with Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala says in the Quran [Music] is
[17:52]upon anyone who meets the specific conditions that make so there are
[18:01]1.5 1.6 six billion Muslims out there probably not all of them
[18:05]on them.
[18:07]Why?
[18:07]Because one of the first conditions of the Hajj is that a
[18:10]person has to be you have to go and pass the age
[18:19]of puberty.
[18:17]You have to pass the age of meaning a child is not
[18:24]waj upon a child.
[18:24]Prayer is not waj upon a child that the person has not
[18:30]reached the age of puberty.
[18:31]So that's number one.
[18:32]Number two, the person has to have the sanity.
[18:36]The they need to be able to comprehend what they're doing because
[18:42]my dear brothers and sisters, even though when we go to Hajj,
[18:47]there's a lot of okay, you do this, throw stones, walk around
[18:51]the walk between Safa and but your every act of every act
[18:55]that we perform while we're in the Hajj begins with a nia,
[19:00]begins with an intention.
[19:00]You need to know what you're doing and you need to know
[19:05]who you're doing this for.
[19:06]This is I'm performing the Hajj.
[19:07]I'm doing I'm doing I'm doing the and I'm doing this for
[19:13]Allah subhana wa tala.
[19:14]And this is something we're going you're going to notice.
[19:18]We're going to keep repeating before every I'm going to come to
[19:21]you.
[19:22]I'm going to tell you say the I do the of around
[19:28]the I do I do the of wearing the for this is
[19:33]something we will we will uh focus on because we want to
[19:39]make sure reaffirming our reaffirming our intention before we do anything.
[19:45]So that's number two, sanity.
[19:46]Three, one of the conditions of the Hajj is that you have
[19:50]to have meaning you're able to get yourself over there.
[19:55]If I have I've I've gone through the age of puberty and
[20:01]I have the the sanity, but I can't I don't have a
[20:03]means to get there.
[20:06]There's there's no way to to get there physically.
[20:07]I'm not capable of reaching there.
[20:09]Then Haj is not waj on me.
[20:12]That's it.
[20:10]H is not waj some people is not waj on them.
[20:15]Another is that travel should be open.
[20:17]So for example during co during co they they shut down travel.
[20:25]There was no way to get there.
[20:26]Then that year hajj would not be waj on anyone even if
[20:31]you had all of the other checks in place.
[20:32]And one of the most important is that you have to have
[20:37]the financial capability.
[20:39]financial capability.
[20:41]It means that you need to have enough money to be able
[20:48]to live your life normally.
[20:50]Meaning, you're you're eating, you're drinking, you're providing for your family, you're
[20:57]living your life normally, and you go to Hajj and you fulfill
[21:00]all of your financial obligations.
[21:02]And this is something we're going to focus on inshallah uh either
[21:08]in the end of this session or uh next session inshallah.
[21:10]Next session when we talk about our finances and thes and the
[21:14]religious dues we're going to focus on that because some people if
[21:19]you have a mortgage then there there's a you have to figure
[21:22]out how to make this Hajj count as the Hajj.
[21:26]And we're going we're going to um focus on this inshallah.
[21:29]Just pay attention inshallah.
[21:31]But today we're going to just do some of the prerequisites and
[21:34]conditions of the Hajj.
[21:35]But if someone meets all of these conditions, you're balik, you're sane,
[21:40]physically capable, travel is open, financially capable, then you become meaning now
[21:49]has become waj on you.
[21:51]And once Hajj becomes waj upon a person, then this person has
[21:58]to perform the Hajj.
[21:57]Hajj is waj.
[22:00]It becomes waj and obligatory just like the salah is obligatory just
[22:03]like fasting is obligatory if I don't have anything blocking me that's
[22:07]it we have to go and some people they delay the hajj
[22:14]they it became they know it became and they keep delaying it
[22:17]and delaying it and delaying it and this is something that is
[22:21]haram the hadith of and this is a hadith from the prophet
[22:24]this is not you know um it's a very hadith but this
[22:30]is a hadith from the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasall he says the
[22:33]one who is capable of performing the hajj meaning there's nothing stopping
[22:38]them and this person chooses not to go to hajj and this
[22:45]person ends up dying and not performing the hajj Allah subhanahu wa
[22:50]ta'ala on the day of judgment will tell this person choose what
[22:53]you want to be from the Jews or the Christians but not
[22:59]from the Muslims.
[22:59]Why?
[23:00]Because the Hajj is one of the slogans.
[23:03]It's one of it's something that identifies you as a Muslim.
[23:08]It's something that defines you as a Muslim.
[23:08]And every Muslim has to perform the Hajj and visit the Kaa
[23:14]and the house of Allah subhana wa ta'ala.
[23:16]And of course, when we when we perform the Hajj, we're not
[23:19]just visiting the house of Allah.
[23:25]We are actually we are actually um we're visiting the the holy
[23:29]prophet the imams of the because our journey is going to begin
[23:32]in Medina Medina Haj is in Mecca but in Medina is where
[23:38]the prophet is where the masjid of the prophet is where four
[23:40]of the imams of the al are buried there you see the
[23:44]first masjid in Islam the prophet is buried in Medina because Islam
[23:47]started in Mecca and the prophet migrated to Medina [Music] And says
[23:56]the one who performs the Hajj and does not visit me then
[24:01]this person has neglected me.
[24:02]This is why a part of our Hajj, a part of our
[24:05]trip is to go to Medina and visit Sall and our Hajj
[24:11]will be in the way the prophet performed his Hajj where we
[24:15]enter into the state ofam from a masjid where the prophet that
[24:23]was where the prophet he actually entered into the state of that
[24:26]is where we are going to enter into the state ofam.
[24:30]Can we go to the next slide please?
[24:31]So my dear brothers and sisters for some of you what I'm
[24:34]what we are going to cover today might seem repetitive everyone knows
[24:40]woo everyone knows but believe me pay attention in this because many
[24:46]times we we we do this and people discover that something was
[24:51]not done correctly and we want to make sure that we are
[24:58]covering everything from A to Z.
[24:59]So, we're going to go over some of the things that you
[25:04]probably see as simple, but it's very important to cover it and
[25:08]it's a good refresher because this is something that if we don't
[25:11]do this correctly, then our Hajj will have a problem.
[25:16]So, we're going to cover the and the because you need to
[25:22]be in a state of in a state of purity.
[25:23]Sometimes woo is required and sometimes theul is required.
[25:28]And we're going to review the salah.
[25:31]I know my dear brothers and sisters, some of you are saying
[25:34]I already know how to pray.
[25:38]But we really need to review this.
[25:40]I'm going to perform a prayer in front of you so that
[25:42]you see everything.
[25:44]And many times we do this and people say, "You know what?
[25:47]I learned something new today.
[25:50]I discovered that I was not doing this correctly." you're going to
[25:53]go to the Hajj and you're going to come back as a
[25:54]fresh clean person in your in your spirituality.
[25:58]Allah subhana t has cleansed you.
[26:00]So this is the perfect opportunity to review all of this and
[26:03]then um we might stop after that and then we're going to
[26:11]cover the because everyone needs to know which merger they're following when
[26:16]they're going to Hajj and we're going to talk about why we
[26:18]have to follow a merger or if someone does not want to
[26:21]follow a merger what are their other options that they can we're
[26:24]going to briefly talk about a Islamic will that's all next session
[26:27]inshallah and I'm going to bring a um a form where everyone
[26:33]will will give it out and you could fill in fill in
[26:35]the blank basically where you could make a generic a will.
[26:40]And this is something it doesn't have to do with the Hajj
[26:43]very much.
[26:44]In the past, people used to write a will because they're going
[26:48]to Hajj and the Hajj would be like a six-month journey.
[26:50]Who knows what's going to happen.
[26:52]Hajj is very safe right now, but it's generally highly recommended to
[26:56]have a will.
[26:58]And then we're going to talk about our outstanding religious dues zakat
[27:02]and because I'm going to Hajj, I need to have the financial
[27:06]capability.
[27:07]But if some of my money does not belong to me, some
[27:09]of my money belongs to God, but I'm holding on to it.
[27:12]So how could I perform Hajj with money that does not fully
[27:14]belong to me?
[27:17]This is why is in general but specifically with the Hajj I
[27:22]have to make sure I'm paying for my Hajj which is an
[27:24]act of worship with money that fully belongs to me not money
[27:29]that 1/5if of it belongs to God.
[27:30]So this is what we're going to um explain and we're going
[27:35]to you know seeking forgiveness from others and forgiving others.
[27:39]This is something that will be quick inshallah.
[27:42]So my dear brothers and sisters um we will begin with next
[27:47]slide please.
[27:49]We will begin with the rules of purity.
[27:53]Why are we talking about tah?
[27:55]Because when you go over there every masjid you go in you
[28:00]have to be pure.
[28:01]When you perform when you perform taw circumambulating around thea you need
[28:10]to be in a state of purity.
[28:11]I cannot be in I cannot perform when I am not in
[28:15]the state of purity.
[28:16]So when it comes to tahara there are two types of causes
[28:23]that remove the purity from a person.
[28:27]There is something called and something called the minor causes and the
[28:37]major or the greater causes.
[28:38]Now, of course, I'm going to send you all of these slides,
[28:40]inshallah, all of you.
[28:42]All the whole slides that we're doing, I'm going to send it
[28:45]to all of you and you're going to have access to this.
[28:50]So, there are certain things that are considered a minor cause.
[28:56]When I per when when the happens to me, all I need
[28:59]to do to pray to perform is to do the woo.
[29:06]doing the woo that would be sufficient for me to enter into
[29:12]haram and to per perform my prayers and perform everything that I
[29:17]have to do.
[29:19]So for example, urinating, defecating, passing gas, sleeping, these are things that
[29:23]remove the woo.
[29:25]These are things that invalidate the wudoo.
[29:28]And when the wudoo is invalidated, then I need to do the
[29:31]woo again so that I can pray, so that I can do.
[29:36]And this is it's not a part of the Hajj, but is
[29:41]a part of the Hajj.
[29:43]And I need to know the conditions that make my tawah valid
[29:46]because if I lost my woo for example and I don't know
[29:51]how to do woo then how am I going to do the
[29:56]around the cabba and this is something you know um it's it's
[29:58]a little bit funny but it's a reality when you're performing it
[30:03]gets really tight in there and a lot of people end up
[30:05]losing their wudoo in the taw.
[30:06]So you have to know how to do the woo and you
[30:10]have to know in general and this is something that's a reality
[30:17]that will will come up and also um you know over there
[30:19]when we when we go there the hotels in the breakfast they
[30:24]serve all of this food and this you know these so much
[30:26]food and people when they go there they see all of this
[30:30]food they start eating and eating and eating and then they go
[30:32]and they perform the tawah and they have stomach issues.
[30:36]So this is something to also um watch out for.
[30:42]Take your gasex with you.
[30:42]Um one of the one of the things which falls under the
[30:45]category of is and this is something that has to do with
[30:53]the women the sisters.
[30:57]Of course the sisters there are three um types of within the
[31:01]menstrual cycle.
[31:03]You have the and you have the and you have the the
[31:07]for 10 days during the monthly u menstrual cycle there's no prayer
[31:15]during the that is that falls under the major cause that requires
[31:18]and you cannot a sister cannot enter into any masjid cannot enter
[31:27]into masjid al haram cannot enter into masjid nebi cannot enter into
[31:32]any masjid while in the state of H while in the state
[31:38]of Nifas is after giving birth also for 10 days any any
[31:42]blood that is coming out that is basically um considered or or
[31:48]now there is after 10 days once 10 days are over then
[31:56]that's it now even if there's still a continuation of the cycle.
[32:04]The sisters now salah becomes waj.
[32:07]The the the excuse was only the 10 days.
[32:11]After 10 days salah becomes waj.
[32:12]But it's there's light meaning there's not that much and then there's
[32:21]middle and then there's heavy.
[32:22]The middle and the heavy they require.
[32:25]So they fall under the category of major causes.
[32:29]But if it's a light, it requires woo and that is also
[32:32]considered one of the minor causes.
[32:33]So this would require wudoo.
[32:36]What are the the major causes?
[32:40]These are things that require in order to pray, in order to
[32:42]enter into masjid, in order to do you need to do is
[32:47]one of them.
[32:49]And this is um after intercourse.
[32:51]This would require uh a person to perform.
[32:56]So becomes in order to pray and then the and the and
[33:03]the middle and the heavy and um touching a deceased body, touching
[33:10]a dead body that would put you in the state of so
[33:14]that would require.
[33:14]So there are certain things it's very clear there are certain things
[33:18]that that require wudoo and there are other things that require um
[33:23]and this is important because we're going to enter into mazjid haram
[33:30]we're going to be praying we're going to be um we have
[33:32]to fulfill our obligations and we have to make sure that we
[33:36]are in the state of purity spiritual purity in order to perform
[33:41]our obligations.
[33:43]So now next slide please.
[33:45]I'm going to um explain how to do theul and of course
[33:51]theul you have is performed many times you have orl or and
[34:00]then you have recommendedul for example every Friday it's to perform aul
[34:06]when I sayul I don't mean go take a showerul is an
[34:10]act of worship so it needs to be done in a particular
[34:15]way and if it's not done in a particular way without the
[34:19]particular intention that you have then there's an error and also when
[34:24]we enter into the state ofam when we take off our clothes
[34:30]and we wear our before doing that we do aul now thatul
[34:35]is not but it is highly recommended and this is how we're
[34:41]all going to begin the we're going to all performul in our
[34:45]hotels and we're going to perform theul.
[34:48]Then we put our clothes aside and the men are going to
[34:52]wear their and the sisters, they're going to wear their as well.
[34:54]Of course, theam of the sisters is just normal clothes as long
[34:59]as it doesn't have any ornaments and and beautifification and zena.
[35:03]And theam of the men is theam that you see in the
[35:06]pictures.
[35:07]two pieces of cloth that are not stitched and you can't cover
[35:14]your head and you can't um you can't cover your your feet
[35:17]fully like wearing your shoes.
[35:18]So, we're going to we're going to cover that.
[35:21]But the first step of entering into is that you need to
[35:25]do so.
[35:26]How do you do?
[35:29]There's two types of ways to doul.
[35:31]If you have a pool in your house or an ocean next
[35:37]to you, then an easy way to perform is called you do
[35:44]the you say I'm washing my body for this and then you
[35:51]jump in the water.
[35:51]Your bo your body is fully immersed in the water and then
[35:58]you get out and that's it.
[35:59]You've done theul.
[36:01]If it was if it was in the place of janaba or
[36:05]or um certain types of then it will it will take the
[36:10]place of wudoo meaning you could get up and pray and there's
[36:14]no need to worry about anything and you could get up and
[36:16]pray.
[36:16]That's it.
[36:17]You're in a state of you're in a state of purity.
[36:18]This is one type of and then there's another type of which
[36:25]is the more common type of because we most of us have
[36:28]showers and that is called meaning the stepbystepul.
[36:33]So what is that?
[36:37]That also just like the first one it begins with just like
[36:40]any act of worship it begins with nia intention.
[36:43]What is nia?
[36:45]I know what I'm doing and I know who I'm doing it
[36:47]for.
[36:47]What am I doing?
[36:49]I'm doing.
[36:50]Who am I doing it for?
[36:51]Seeking nearness to Allah subhana wa tala.
[36:55]That's it.
[36:56]I'm not doing it because it's a hot day.
[36:58]I'm not doing it because I want to, you know, clean my
[37:00]body of of the filth and the sweat and all of that.
[37:05]No, I'm doing it.
[37:05]Am I allowed to clean my body as I'm doing?
[37:08]Yes, I am.
[37:10]But my intention is so nia and then washing of the full
[37:17]head.
[37:18]The full head and the neck has to be washed.
[37:22]Sometimes we have certain things that block the water from reaching our
[37:27]skin.
[37:28]We have to make sure we remove all of that.
[37:31]If you have paint for example or if you have um nail
[37:35]polish, anything that might come in between a band-aid, anything that might
[37:41]come between your body and the water, you have to remove.
[37:47]Of course, this is if you can remove it.
[37:51]If you cannot remove it, for example, I have a a cast,
[37:53]you know, my hand is broken and I have a cast here.
[37:57]I do what is called as or if it's in the place
[38:03]of it's called if it's in the place of it's called that
[38:06]part where that has a band-aid on it or a band-aid that
[38:12]I cannot remove because of a burn or because of a break
[38:14]or because of something that really I can't move it.
[38:16]It's not just something that could be removed and then I could
[38:19]put put another one on.
[38:21]Here I just cover that place and I wipe over that.
[38:25]So nia washing of the head and the neck making sure everything
[38:30]is washed and then washing the full right side of the body.
[38:37]The whole right side of the body needs to be washed from
[38:39]the front and the back.
[38:44]And then you step out and then you step back in again
[38:46]as if you're doing as if you're entering into a new a
[38:51]new step in the woo and then you do washing the whole
[38:57]left side of the body.
[38:58]And the moment the whole left side of the body is washed
[39:03]then theul is complete.
[39:04]theul is complete and you are in the state of now when
[39:10]it comes to you have to make sure water reaches the whole
[39:16]body that's number one second is not necessary what is muat muat
[39:22]means I don't have to do things immediately after one another in
[39:28]the muat is necessary that means once I wash my face I
[39:31]can't go and answer a phone all and for example have a
[39:37]conversation and step out and then come and wash my right hand
[39:39]and then go and do something and then come and wash my
[39:43]left hand.
[39:42]It's a step by step.
[39:44]I need to once I do one I need to do the
[39:47]next one right after in theul Allah subhana wa ta'ala makes life
[39:52]easier because usually people when they're washing their body it takes more
[39:56]time.
[39:56]So this one mat is not necessary.
[39:59]So someone washes their head and then they want to for example
[40:04]shampoo they want to they want to go answer a phone call
[40:06]anything they have to do and then they and then they I
[40:09]don't know about the phone calls just you know so then you
[40:13]wash your your um the right side and then you could take
[40:18]a break and then you wash the left side it doesn't need
[40:20]it doesn't need to be consent immediately after one another and um
[40:26]for example the theul of theul of janab theul of and some
[40:35]suffice for wudoo.
[40:37]So for example right now the majority of the scholars they say
[40:41]which is a recommended if you did on a Friday you did
[40:46]theul then you could go to Friday prayer and that's it you
[40:52]don't need to do so that suffices for the a lot of
[40:55]people are going to ask this because we we're going to do
[40:59]theul and then we're going to wear do I need to do
[41:01]woo after I don't need to the suffices for the woo and
[41:06]when I when I do theul to wear theam.
[41:09]That's it.
[41:10]I could go and I in a masjid and I could pray.
[41:11]So this is um these are the steps of performing theul.
[41:16]Do we have any questions on this before I move to the
[41:18]next step?
[41:20]Yes, sisterum.
[41:25]Yes.
[41:26]Yes.
[41:28]Because it's it's it's meaning we know for sure it's recommended.
[41:33]So therefore it would it would suffice for the it would suffice
[41:37]for the uh woo.
[41:41]Yes, brother.
[41:45]Yes.
[41:49]Probably not.
[41:51]No, I don't think so.
[41:54]It applies to humans and it applies to the human once the
[41:56]body has gone cold.
[41:58]But regard you're not going to be touching a dead body.
[42:00]So inshallah that shouldn't be a a problem.
[42:03]But um some people in the health care for example if they're
[42:06]wearing gloves then that doesn't they're wearing gloves that's not considered touching.
[42:11]So if you're if you're removing if you're touching a body once
[42:15]it's gone cold and that body has to not have been washed
[42:20]once it's washed then that's there's no problem.
[42:24]But if it's meaning after a person died and the body got
[42:26]cold and the body has not been washed yet and it was
[42:29]touched then it would require if you touch the body.
[42:36]Yes, brother.
[42:34]Said out loud.
[42:38]No.
[42:37]So forul does not need to be said out loud.
[42:42]But when we perform the Hajj, when we're entering into the state
[42:49]ofam, when we're doing the we're going to go over the nia
[42:52]with everyone so that people know exactly what they are doing because
[42:58]there is for example when we enter into Mecca that requires its
[43:08]own intention then we get out of the state ofam and then
[43:10]we enter into the state ofam in a couple days when when
[43:13]the Hajj begins that is called and the next one is called.
[43:20]So I know this is I'm I'm I'm a little I'm jumping
[43:22]ahead but we need to know what we're doing and when we're
[43:26]doing it and this is why I'm going to be there.
[43:29]I'm going to tell you when you do this.
[43:32]This is the nia.
[43:31]I'm going to say the nia and the group I'm going to
[43:35]record how to say the nia so that the sisters or those
[43:38]who are not with us they'll know the nia and then you
[43:39]will you'll be able to say the nia the intention so that
[43:43]you know what you're doing I'll say it in Arabic and in
[43:46]English inshallah yes um someone had a question on on zoom um
[43:54]when we do do we need to also step out for a
[43:58]moment after we wash the head and neck so Yes.
[44:02]Um scholars say to differentiate between the step of the head and
[44:07]then moving on to the right side.
[44:09]Then you need to you need to kind of differentiate.
[44:12]But the head and the neck they go together there.
[44:16]It's considered one step and then you go the right side and
[44:18]then you kind of move in again as if you're doing the
[44:23]left side.
[44:22]When we do does water have to come from top to bottom?
[44:26]Yes.
[44:27]Water from top to bottom.
[44:28]And same with wudoo from top to bottom.
[44:31]Um is the plan to do ourul at the mik or our
[44:36]hotels?
[44:37]No, we're going to you have the option of doing at the
[44:39]mikat but because there's going to be thousands of people there and
[44:45]there's buses.
[44:45]Everyone's looking the same now.
[44:46]Everyone's wearing.
[44:48]So we want to make sure we leave the hotel.
[44:53]We go to the mikat.
[44:56]We enter into the state ofam and we're back on the bus
[44:59]so that we don't waste time because at the mat if time
[45:04]is wasted then we end up getting stuck in traffic.
[45:06]We end up arriving after the sun has risen and if the
[45:11]sun rises and the men are traveling under a covered bus then
[45:16]all of the men are going to have to slaughter a sheep.
[45:19]So if anyone delays us, we have to slaughter a sheep.
[45:24]By the way, get yourselves ready.
[45:25]There's a lot of things that if you do this wrong, slaughter
[45:28]a sheep.
[45:29]You do this wrong, sacrifice a sheep.
[45:32]The poor sheep.
[45:34]Have mercy on the sheep, please.
[45:36]So, so this is um the reason why we're going to usually,
[45:39]you know, I've performed Hajj seven times.
[45:42]This is going to be my eighth time, inshallah.
[45:45]All the times we've gone with scholars, with people, we perform the
[45:50]we perform theul at the hotel.
[45:51]We perform theul at the hotel and then we go get in
[45:56]the bus and then we go that way we um we everything
[46:01]is simple.
[46:00]The only problem after performing theul you're not officially in the state
[46:06]ofam but you should not do things that take you out of
[46:11]or things that go against theam.
[46:12]One of them is during the state ofam we should not be
[46:17]looking in the mirror.
[46:17]So the hotels are filled with mirrors.
[46:20]That's something that you have to be careful with, but it does
[46:24]not invalidate the you just need to um but to make things
[46:27]simpler, we're going to do theul in the um in the hotel
[46:30]inshallah.
[46:31]Any other questions?
[46:34]Yes, sister.
[46:46]From what I know, you do it from top to bottom.
[46:49]You do it from top to bottom.
[46:51]You start from the top and you you wash down.
[46:56]Yes.
[46:58]Now, yes.
[46:58]Yes.
[46:58]You you do the head, the neck, the right side, top to
[47:04]bottom and left side, top to bottom.
[47:09]Yes.
[47:07]What what is it?
[47:10]Whatever.
[47:11]What?
[47:12]As long as water reaches it.
[47:14]Now some people they think that I need for example five gallons
[47:21]of water to perform.
[47:21]No.
[47:21]As long as you are, for example, you have a small amount
[47:27]of water.
[47:26]I' I've heard a scholar he says you could do with this.
[47:30]All you need to do is it's as if you're putting applying
[47:32]lotion just make sure water is watch water water reaches everywhere.
[47:37]So if you have it under the shower that's water gets on
[47:39]it.
[47:40]You don't have it under the shower then you you do it
[47:45]with your hands.
[47:43]Yes.
[47:44]So you don't have to physically step under Yeah.
[47:48]Yeah.
[47:48]You don't have to use your hands as long as you know
[47:51]for sure that water reached that place.
[47:54]Yes.
[47:56]It is permissible.
[47:58]Yes, it is permissible.
[48:03]Yes.
[48:04]Well, we're going to have to enter into the state ofam twice.
[48:10]One from Medina, we go to Mecca.
[48:14]That's called and the second time is once we are in Mecca.
[48:17]We're going to arrive to Mecca.
[48:18]We're going to do the the we're going to do the and
[48:22]then we're going to rest for a few days waiting for the
[48:27]days of the Hajj waiting for the 9th of on the eth
[48:29]of the eve of the 9th we're going to enter into again
[48:34]we go and we wear theam again.
[48:35]So we do to enter into theam one more time.
[48:39]So you're we're going to enter in our trip into the twice.
[48:42]Now some people if they want to do another omrah after the
[48:47]hajj after the hajj is done if you have several days left
[48:49]you could do another omrah you could you could do that if
[48:54]you have the energy so some people will do that as well
[48:56]other people they're just going to looking at thea by itself is
[49:02]i it's a form of worship yes brothervious It's no big deal.
[49:18]It doesn't matter if other sides are getting wet.
[49:21]But you just need to make sure that the head and the
[49:22]neck are done.
[49:24]Once the head and neck are done, then you go to the
[49:27]right side of the body.
[49:27]You wash the whole right side of the body and then you
[49:31]wash the whole left side of the body.
[49:32]If this part got wet a little, it doesn't matter.
[49:34]Yes.
[49:35]Um, does showering before and doing while you're wet from the shower
[49:39]invalidate theul?
[49:41]No.
[49:42]You could you could shower.
[49:43]You could use shampoo.
[49:43]There is one thing we're going to I'm I'm getting ahead of
[49:48]myself, but when we're when we do the one of the things
[49:54]that we should we cannot use during is scented um scented shampoo.
[49:58]So when you're when you're inam, can I use the bathroom?
[50:04]Yes.
[50:04]Can I do woo?
[50:04]Yes.
[50:05]Can I take a shower?
[50:08]Yes.
[50:05]But can I use a scented shampoo?
[50:10]No.
[50:08]While I'm in the state ofam.
[50:12]So the first time we we enter into the state ofam is
[50:14]just going to be a couple of hours when we're leaving from
[50:17]Medina to get to Mecca.
[50:21]That's a couple hours.
[50:21]And then after that, we do we do the of the we
[50:26]do the and then that's it.
[50:27]you do the and you're you could take off theam and you
[50:32]could use a scented um scented shampoo.
[50:34]But the second time we enter into the state ofam, we're going
[50:38]to enter into the state ofam on the eth of the eve
[50:42]of the 9th.
[50:44]The 9th is the day of.
[50:44]So the eth we enter into the 9th the whole day we're
[50:50]inram and then we wake up on the 10th the day of
[50:55]we're in all the way until we have made sure that they
[50:57]have sacrificed for us one sheep and we have done the or
[51:04]the hal.
[51:05]So some people what until they figure out have they slaughtered my
[51:08]sheep for me?
[51:10]Have they done this?
[51:10]Have they done that?
[51:11]Making sure I have everything done.
[51:15]That might take some time.
[51:15]So some people are going to want to take showers.
[51:19]Obviously you are allowed to take a shower.
[51:22]But when you take a shower while in the state ofam you
[51:24]cannot use anything with scent.
[51:25]You cannot use any lotion.
[51:29]You cannot use any of that.
[51:29]But before the you could before theul you could use anything that
[51:33]is scented.
[51:34]It shouldn't be something that leaves behind a very strong scent.
[51:37]So this is why a lot of times when people go to
[51:41]Hajj they take unscented shampoos with them.
[51:43]You buy a unscented shampoo with you.
[51:45]You use it so that you don't have to worry about anything
[51:47]and you'll be able to use it.
[51:49]Of course you don't have to use that the whole time.
[51:52]only during the state ofam or unless it's a very strong scented
[51:56]shampoo that's going to leave a scent while you're in the state
[52:01]ofam.
[52:01]Yes, brother.
[52:02]Deodorant.
[52:03]Same deodorants.
[52:06]We can't use not I mean even not because it's scented even
[52:10]if it's unscented we can't use lotion.
[52:13]We can't use any type of cream, anything that is um so
[52:19]during that time and during the Hajj, if you smell anything bad,
[52:22]you can't say, "Oh, what is this?" And that's it.
[52:25]You're just you walk by.
[52:26]You smell something good, you can't be like, "This is this is
[52:32]really good." That's it.
[52:32]You just walk by and it's going to be hot.
[52:36]So, that's one of the challenges of the Hajj.
[52:38]That's why we said it requires a lot of patience.
[52:39]Yes, sister.
[52:41]No sunscreen.
[52:43]No sunscreen.
[52:45]even powder.
[52:47]Yes.
[52:48]Nothing, no type of cream, nothing nothing that is is placed on
[52:56]your skin.
[52:53]Unless someone has a medical condition.
[52:57]If someone has a real medical condition and they decide on themselves,
[53:04]if they have a medical condition, then they would be able to
[53:08]use it.
[53:10]But otherwise, that's it.
[53:10]and we get sunburned.
[53:12]Especially the men.
[53:13]Now the sisters, they're covered up.
[53:15]The men, you can't even cover your head.
[53:19]So that's it.
[53:19]You're just wearing theam.
[53:21]And if you're walking in the sun, you're walking in the sun.
[53:24]So we will of course we will avoid doing that.
[53:29]There's AC everywhere.
[53:30]We we we try to walk in the shade for example and
[53:34]inshallah it will go smooth.
[53:35]Yes.
[53:36]Who had a question?
[53:39]Yes, brother.
[53:38]Since we're on the topic of what about So that's what I
[53:47]said.
[53:47]That's a problem.
[53:47]That is a problem, especially with the men if they're not wearing
[53:53]um you know, they they might get a rash.
[53:56]So you try to not use it.
[53:58]Sometimes you could put a piece of cloth.
[54:00]You could put a piece of cloth that acts as a barrier.
[54:05]Unless it becomes a a serious issue, then at that point you
[54:08]you would be able to use it.
[54:09]But you should not go in there using it in the beginning.
[54:14]Once if it becomes an issue, then you would use it.
[54:16]Toothpaste, if it has scent, we don't use it.
[54:19]We we don't use it.
[54:21]Or if you use it, you have to kind of, you know,
[54:23]spit it out.
[54:25]Don't don't try to smell it.
[54:26]Um when you shower, can you use unscented shampoo or soap?
[54:32]Yes, we said that.
[54:32]Are sunglasses allowed?
[54:35]If not, what if you have sensitivity to sunlight?
[54:37]Is it permissible?
[54:39]If you have sensitivity, then you you would be able to use
[54:43]it.
[54:44]But generally, we don't use them.
[54:46]Now, sunglasses for the sisters are of bigger problem than the brothers.
[54:51]The brothers cannot be covering their head.
[54:54]The sisters cannot cover their face.
[54:57]So, so covering of the face for the sisters during the state
[55:03]ofam that is a problematic that is a problem for the brothers.
[55:05]You can't cover your head.
[55:08]So, I can't for example do do something like this and and
[55:11]cover my head to protect myself from the sun.
[55:14]This is these are some of the rules.
[55:16]Are women allowed to wear a hat?
[55:18]Yes, women are allowed to wear a hat.
[55:20]But as long as it's not a hat that is coming in
[55:23]front of like it has something that comes right in front of
[55:25]the face.
[55:26]If there's some space and then it comes then it would be
[55:30]okay.
[55:30]Okay.
[55:31]Um can you dry your head with a towel after for men
[55:36]because it would cover the head?
[55:38]Yes, you can because officially you have not entered into the state
[55:41]of you enter into the state ofam once you do the nia
[55:47]but you do theul to prepare yourself for um the state ofam
[55:50]and then um let me see did we miss anything can you
[55:54]dry your head with a towel okay we already answered does showering
[55:58]before the no there there's no problem with showering before the okay
[56:03]so these are the yes sister medicales.
[56:10]Medical glasses.
[56:12]No, this is something if I can see without No, that's not
[56:17]considered covering your face because you're wearing glasses.
[56:21]I could see your face.
[56:22]The reason why the philosophy behind this is that some people in
[56:26]the past they would as a sign of prestige, I'm better than
[56:30]you, then I cover my face.
[56:31]That means you don't even have the right to see me.
[56:34]In Hajj, that's it.
[56:36]We're all equal.
[56:35]You you see the the the king and the president and the
[56:41]ministers and the and the poorest person.
[56:43]They're all they're all in one level.
[56:46]So no one covers their face from from that perspective.
[56:49]Yes.
[57:05]You're allowed to consider as No, that's not considered covering.
[57:10]Covering means you're you're actually wearing something that's covering your face.
[57:15]But just drying yourself, there's nothing wrong with that.
[57:18]Yes.
[57:19]Um the the another brother is asking about while walking.
[57:25]Yes, that that is going to be a problem.
[57:28]Um but if if it becomes a serious problem then you use
[57:30]a piece of cloth or whatever you have or if I mean
[57:34]it becomes really bad then scholars some scholars have allowed using some
[57:38]type of lotion at that point because it becomes a serious medical
[57:42]issue now.
[57:44]Yes.
[57:45]Yes.
[57:46]Rather shaving.
[57:51]So during no removing of any hair during no uh making yourself
[57:58]bleed none of none of that so I cannot pull out a
[58:02]piece of a hair I cannot shave a piece of hair during
[58:04]the state ofam before the after the there's nothing wrong with that
[58:11]but one thing I wanted to mention for the brothers for those
[58:14]who are going the first time the scholars the majority of the
[58:18]scholars say you have to shave where your head, you have to
[58:26]shave your your hair.
[58:26]And of course, some scholars they say if there's a you know
[58:32]you could you could trim it and some scholars say if it's
[58:34]if it's a medical issue or or you you can't then they've
[58:38]allowed not doing it.
[58:39]So this goes back to the issue of but um regarding this
[58:45]it's and the reason I'm saying this now it's from from now
[58:51]if you're planning on shaving to grow out your hair.
[58:56]So save some money on the on going to the barber because
[59:01]you're going to get a good haircut inshallah on the day of
[59:04]Eid.
[59:06]Yes.
[59:09]trimming.
[59:10]You put it on a low a very low number in the
[59:14]in the trimmer and you could and you could do it as
[59:19]as trimming as well.
[59:21]Yes.
[59:20]Oh, we do it on the day of Eid on the 10th
[59:23]of on the 10th of when we arrive to Mina after we've
[59:29]done the the stoning of Shan and then we they've slaughtered our
[59:32]sheep for us and then you you do that the trimming or
[59:38]the shaving and then you're out of that's when you you could
[59:41]actually you know get out of the state ofam.
[59:44]Yes, brother.
[59:49]No, you're allowed to do it yourself.
[59:50]Yes, you're allowed to do it yourself.
[59:52]Yes.
[59:58]So the prophet the way the prophet did it, he said you
[60:04]have to the Quran says they they they hulk meaning you you
[60:08]take a razor and you just you know put it on the
[60:09]on the hair.
[60:11]So when that when that ruling came the Muslims they found it
[60:14]difficult.
[60:14]The prophet he went and he stand he sat in front of
[60:19]the Muslims and he began to shave and he had long hair.
[60:20]He began to shave his his his hair and once the Muslims
[60:26]saw this they all they said ifasool Allah is doing this I'm
[60:30]who am I?
[60:30]So they they they went and they all they all began to
[60:34]shave but some people they you know I've seen people and scholars
[60:37]have allowed it if if if it's really difficult for you.
[60:41]Some scholars they say you could, you know, do a like a
[60:44]buzz cut.
[60:45]Uh a short a short um uh cut.
[60:47]Yes.
[60:48]Um should we pack a hair trimmer or only blade is allowed?
[60:55]You could pack a hair trimmer and um you you could use
[60:57]a blade as well.
[60:59]So I've seen people use both.
[61:01]Both are allowed.
[61:00]Regarding can it um take place of regular woo if you're showering
[61:06]after work or if you're on a beach for example for regular
[61:09]prayer?
[61:10]No.
[61:11]So this is a good question.
[61:12]Can I right now for example I don't have a reason that
[61:20]makes there's no there's no there's no it's not Friday for example.
[61:29]It's not there's no there's no reason that makes can I just
[61:33]go right now at home and take do aul and then say
[61:37]this suffices for wudoo no there needs to be a reason so
[61:40]I can't just do any time if there's a reason for it
[61:45]that makes it waj or makes it highly recommended then that would
[61:50]suffice for the but right now if I go and I do
[61:55]that would not come in the place of the wudoo so this
[61:56]is a very Good question um that you that you asked.
[62:01]What about using Vaseline for men on the bottom parts anywhere?
[62:05]No, we're not using any of that.
[62:08]Um inshallah we we will go over all of this.
[62:12]So now um can we go to the next slide please?
[62:16]We talked about the Yes, brother.
[62:18]Go ahead.
[62:23]So some of these things they have kafaras.
[62:27]What is the kaf?
[62:30]Sometimes the kaf is slaughtering the sheep.
[62:34]Sometimes the kaf is sometimes um saying re renewing your everything has
[62:41]its own um its own kaf but the majority of the kafarat
[62:49]for mistakes is slaughtering the sheep.
[62:49]So, I mean, like the I don't have it memorized on top
[62:54]of my mind because there's a lot of mistakes that a person
[62:56]could make, but usually when you look it up, a lot of
[63:01]it says slaughter a sheep.
[63:01]Pulling out a hair, slaughter a sheep.
[63:03]If you did it on purpose, of course, if you did it
[63:07]on purpose.
[63:08]Now, for example, I'm doing woo and then when I'm when I'm
[63:09]doing this, I see a couple of hairs.
[63:12]That would not mean I did it on purpose.
[63:15]But if I did it on purpose or I'm making myself bleed
[63:19]on purpose, that would require um a kaf.
[63:23]Yes.
[63:24]Okay.
[63:26]So, we explained the fork meaning the greater things that require is
[63:34]not sufficient.
[63:35]And then you have steps you you have things that require wudoo
[63:39]like we mentioned earlier sleeping using the restroom um these type of
[63:46]things they require wudoo and wudoo we do every day wudoo in
[63:49]order one of the conditions of our salah to be accepted is
[63:54]that we need to perform the wudoo correctly during the state ofam
[63:58]I either entered withul and I did not do anything that invalidated
[64:02]theul then I'm I'm still in the state of but if I
[64:07]did something to invalidate theul then I have to go and do
[64:11]and this is what we're going to do we're going to for
[64:13]example when we arrive from Medina to Mecca we arrive from Medina
[64:18]to Mecca it's going to be couple hours I mean I asked
[64:20]that we go on a train being in the train in the
[64:24]Omrah this last trip the train was about 2 hours and you're
[64:29]there and it's very easy and there's AC it's very comfortable I
[64:32]asked that they they give us on the they put us on
[64:37]the train.
[64:35]It's only it's like $80 more and I'm sure everyone would you
[64:40]know just get us there.
[64:43]But if they do that would be very good.
[64:47]If they don't expect a 10-hour bus ride.
[64:50]Yeah, that's I mean that's really I'm pushing it.
[64:52]Usually it's about 6 hours or something, but you have you have
[64:58]buses.
[64:59]You have hundreds of buses and all of the hij and over
[65:01]there they keep stopping you to give you a piece of bread
[65:06]or to check your passport or to do all of this.
[65:09]So please pray that we get the we get the but if
[65:11]we don't then we stay together inshallah.
[65:13]Yes, brother.
[65:22]I if you know how to do the on your own then
[65:27]you could do it but I don't know if they're they're available
[65:30]to like they I think they close off the system.
[65:33]I don't I've never you know during the Hajj I haven't experienced
[65:38]this.
[65:37]It was open during the days of the Hajj.
[65:40]So tomorrow, tomorrow when we have the meeting, everyone tells um tells
[65:47]the tell them we want, what do we want?
[65:52]What do we want?
[65:55]We want the train.
[65:58]Yes.
[65:55]Okay.
[65:56]So, so um that's what we're going to do inshallah.
[66:01]We're going to push for it.
[66:01]And if we do, it's going to be a lot more comfortable.
[66:05]If we don't, then we just have to deal with it.
[66:10]My advice is, especially if this is your first Hajj, be patient.
[66:13]The Hajj, this is not just the the most difficult part of
[66:17]the Hajj.
[66:16]You're it's going to be at night.
[66:20]We're just going to be in the bus and the buses go
[66:22]back, you know, recline.
[66:24]you'll be you'll be comfortable inshallah but we will prefer to be
[66:27]in the in the in the train but if we couldn't being
[66:30]together and performing your together and making sure your hajj which is
[66:36]you you've spent how many hours just trying to get this you
[66:39]know the nuk the visa and we've struggled so much we want
[66:43]to make sure we do it correctly so that's the most important
[66:46]thing so maybe she booked the premium.
[66:54]She's global.
[66:56]You got the ticket for the train.
[66:58]Okay.
[66:59]I mean, inshallah, maybe we'll we'll we'll see if we could do
[67:02]that.
[67:03]Well, we we'll see.
[67:02]Inshallah.
[67:03]Allah.
[67:05]Um, do you travel?
[67:06]Um, do you travel during the day or night for to Mecca?
[67:15]Typically, we travel at night because we want to avoid having the
[67:20]men travel during the day because there's kaf if you're traveling during
[67:23]the day and you're covering yourself from the sun.
[67:27]But we we we travel at night to avoid that.
[67:31]Of course, some scholars they say travel day or night.
[67:33]If you're covered, you pay a kaf.
[67:37]So, we'll tell you which has which view and which has uh
[67:41]the other view.
[67:43]But generally speaking, sistani, sadlah, a lot of the the scholars they
[67:47]say for men you could travel at night.
[67:49]If you travel at night, then you avoid slaughtering the sheep and
[67:52]and doing the kaf.
[67:54]Other scholars they say day or night, it doesn't matter.
[67:56]So we're going to probably travel at night.
[68:00]And we're going to do most of our the most of what
[68:05]we can what's in our choice.
[68:07]We're going to do it at night because even doing during the
[68:12]day and the sun is hitting you after the second or third
[68:18]round, you're going to really feel it.
[68:21]So try to avoid being in the sun.
[68:22]We do the most of the we're going to do them at
[68:24]night and that is the safest thing to do especially when we're
[68:29]going in, you know, in this season.
[68:32]We're going in June, May and June.
[68:34]So it's going to be pretty hot.
[68:35]Um what happens to our mikat if we travel by train?
[68:40]So if we travel by train when we went to Omrah we
[68:44]go to the mikat in Medina which is about 40 40 minutes
[68:46]from Medina and then we get in another bus we go to
[68:51]the train station and then we go to Mecca.
[68:53]If we don't then straight from the mikat we're in the bus
[68:55]and we we begin to head to Mecca.
[68:56]It's a 4-hour ride on a if there's no stops.
[69:01]If there are stops then it takes a little bit longer.
[69:05]So now my dear brothers and sisters we mentioned the now about
[69:10]the the of course the Allah says in the [Music] Quran Allah
[69:27]says in the Quran oh you people who believe if you stand
[69:33]for prayer then wash your faces.
[69:34]So what is the first step of because it's an what is
[69:43]the nia is what I'm I know what I'm doing and I
[69:48]know who I'm doing it for and this is it.
[69:50]So I'm doing woo not because I want to I want to
[69:53]you know it's really hot and I want to wash my face.
[69:55]No, I'm doing it because this is an act of and I'm
[70:00]doing it for Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
[70:02]Once I've done that the nia then I wash my face.
[70:07]I wash my face and when I wash my face.
[70:14]You take water with your right hand and you begin to wash
[70:20]the face.
[70:19]Where is the face?
[70:21]The limit of the face from the hairline, the top of the
[70:27]forehead all the way to the bottom of the chin and up
[70:29]to your ears.
[70:31]This is the face.
[70:33]This is the face.
[70:33]You make sure water has reached the the whole face and you
[70:40]begin from top and you come to the bottom.
[70:42]So you take water once and you begin to wipe making sure
[70:47]water reaches everywhere.
[70:47]I'm allowed to take water a second time, a second time and
[70:53]wash.
[70:54]Am I allowed to take water a third time?
[70:59]No.
[71:01]That's it.
[71:00]Taking water once is good.
[71:05]Two times is three times will invalidate the wudoo.
[71:09]So this is where a lot of people make mistakes.
[71:11]A lot of people they come and they're just washing washing washing
[71:18]and they think they think it's just you know uh this is
[71:20]this is worship.
[71:22]Allah says you do it this this many times.
[71:25]It's just like prayer.
[71:26]I pray two raas prayer.
[71:26]I pray four raas with the I wash my face two times.
[71:32]Okay.
[71:34]Yes.
[71:37]Yes.
[71:38]Those are all recommendations.
[71:42]So when you do the nia, then you could wash the nose,
[71:44]put it in your nostril and put it in your mouth and
[71:48]spit out.
[71:49]These are recommendations.
[71:49]Yes, it's recommended to do that.
[71:52]I went and I skipped to the to the waj woo nia
[71:56]washing of the face making sure water reaches everywhere and then washing
[72:01]of the right hand washing of the right hand you take water
[72:08]in your left hand and you close the tap don't leave the
[72:11]water running because this is ibada and wasting water is haram.
[72:16]So, close the tap and you put water in your left hand
[72:20]and you begin washing from above the elbows all the way down
[72:27]to the tip of your fingernails, the tip of your fingers.
[72:29]You begin washing and you do this also two times.
[72:35]Once is good, two times is recommended.
[72:39]Three times will invalidate the woo.
[72:41]So you take for the brothers it's mustab of course a general
[72:46]recommendation brothers and sisters is to take water in your right hand
[72:53]and put it in your left hand and then you and then
[72:56]you do this.
[72:56]So you take water in your right for example if there's a
[73:01]bucket of water you put your right hand in it and then
[73:03]you put it in your left hand and then you do this.
[73:07]The brothers they begin from the outside of the hand.
[73:11]Okay.
[73:10]Outside and then they make sure water reaches everywhere.
[73:13]Sisters, it's mustab to begin from inside the hand and then come
[73:17]in the outside.
[73:19]But these are all the arm.
[73:20]Sorry, the arm and then these are all recommendations which side you
[73:24]begin from or taking the right hand.
[73:28]But if you want to if you want to just do the
[73:29]waj, take water in your left hand and begin and begin washing
[73:34]from the top of the arm.
[73:35]Now, a lot of people when they're doing when when they're doing
[73:38]the the wulu, sometimes they take water like this or they put
[73:45]it here and they start going like this up and down.
[73:49]Are you allowed to do that?
[73:50]No.
[73:51]You have to make sure the motion is only coming down.
[73:54]So, I come down and then I remove it and then I
[73:58]come down again and I keep doing this.
[74:00]I don't put it like this and then I come up it
[74:03]like this.
[74:04]You can't keep going up and down because then you'd be washing
[74:06]from the bottom to the top.
[74:08]And you you're not supposed to be washing from the bottom to
[74:12]the top.
[74:13]It's supposed to be a down motion.
[74:15]So from the above the elbows coming down.
[74:18]If you're wearing a ring or a watch, you have to make
[74:20]sure you move them, wiggle them around so that you make sure
[74:25]water has reached everywhere.
[74:26]Some people they say, "But my hand was already wet when I
[74:28]was washing my face." So they come and they stop here because
[74:33]their hand was already wet.
[74:33]No, you have to wash the whole thing.
[74:36]You had an order to wash the face.
[74:39]Now you're washing the whole hand.
[74:41]Making sure everywhere is washed.
[74:43]Is it okay if my hand was already wet?
[74:45]Yes.
[74:45]Places where the face was already wet, it's okay.
[74:49]The hand was already wet, it's okay.
[74:51]But the places of mess, the places of wiping the head and
[74:57]the feet, there you have to make sure that they are dry.
[75:00]But the places of washing could be washed.
[75:02]They could be what?
[75:05]The places of wiping they have to be dry before you wipe
[75:08]them.
[75:08]So you wash the whole right hand twice.
[75:12]Taking I mean taking water twice and then you wash the whole
[75:19]left hand also going up and down and making sure there's nothing.
[75:22]Now if you have nail polish, if there's paint, if there's anything
[75:26]then you have to remove that for the woot to be valid
[75:31]for the woot to count, you have to remove that.
[75:36]Of course there are um some scholars say Muhammad he says that
[75:42]the nail polish the the nails he says are not a part
[75:45]of the hand that needs to be washed.
[75:47]They're it's separate.
[75:50]So therefore, if there's nail polish, you don't need to wash the
[75:54]the nails.
[75:55]But the majority and all of the other scholars, they say you
[75:59]have to wash the fingernails as well.
[76:02]So here, this is the issue of um nail polish for for
[76:08]the sisters.
[76:07]After you've done this, you took water twice and then you close
[76:12]the you close the faucet, making sure that's it.
[76:16]your your hand is already wet from washing your face and washing
[76:19]your hands.
[76:21]And then you just wipe the head from the top of the
[76:26]dome all the way coming down to the hairline.
[76:27]This is with three fingers.
[76:30]You just wipe down.
[76:31]If there's a lot of hair, you just you you kind of
[76:36]um part the hairs and you wipe.
[76:39]That's it.
[76:41]And then wiping the top of your feet.
[76:45]You could do either both at the same time or you do
[76:47]the right and then the left.
[76:50]You don't do the left and then the right.
[76:53]Either the right and the left then the left or both at
[76:55]the same time.
[76:57]Once you do that, the woo is done.
[76:59]Now, regarding the woo, I mentioned this the head.
[77:02]If I'm in the shower and my hair is wet, can I
[77:05]do the woo and wipe on my head?
[77:07]No.
[77:07]I have to make sure I dry it and then I do
[77:11]that.
[77:12]Or my feet are wet.
[77:11]I'm in a pool.
[77:13]My feet are wet.
[77:15]Can I do woo?
[77:15]No.
[77:16]I have to make sure that the top of my feet is
[77:21]dry before I um do the woo.
[77:23]Yes.
[77:24]Any questions?
[77:26]Yes, doctor.
[77:25]Arm is wet.
[77:27]The arm is wet.
[77:28]The arm and the face.
[77:29]It's okay because those places you're washing.
[77:31]So the you're washing it's okay if it's wet.
[77:34]The places of wiping you don't want to make you don't want
[77:36]to wipe on something that's already wet.
[77:38]You want to wipe something that's dry.
[77:50]No, very little amount.
[77:54]We don't waste water even in the um you try to try
[78:00]to use minimum amount.
[77:59]This is this is not um you know go just going under
[78:05]the shower and making sure this is a this is or this
[78:07]is woo.
[78:08]So you do the minimum and you don't waste any water.
[78:13]Yes, sisterum.
[78:22]That's fine.
[78:23]The water it drips back up.
[78:25]That's fine.
[78:26]As long as you don't you don't push it up.
[78:31]You just come down.
[78:30]That's it.
[78:32]Yes.
[78:33]Yes.
[78:35]Yes.
[78:35]Um if hair gel or hairspray comes in the place and it
[78:42]blocks the water from reaching your hair or the head then it's
[78:45]a problem.
[78:46]So you would apply it before you put any uh hair hairspray
[78:53]or gel but during the hajj none of that the during the
[78:55]none of that we we're not allowed to apply any of that.
[79:00]But generally speaking, if um you're not in the Hajj and you
[79:03]want to do you want to put hair gel or spray, you
[79:06]would have to do the woo and then put that because it
[79:08]might block it unless it's a type of hairspray that water could
[79:14]pass through it.
[79:17]I I don't know if if water if you're able to guarantee
[79:22]you have to make sure that water wiped you wiped your head
[79:24]correctly.
[79:25]If you're certain of that, then that's sufficient.
[79:29]Yes, sister.
[79:34]Anything you don't Yes.
[79:37]You don't want to block the You don't want to block that
[79:40]area.
[79:41]Now, for someone who has short hair, then they don't need to
[79:47]part their hair.
[79:47]They just wipe over the short hair.
[79:48]But if you have long hair that is movable, then you would
[79:53]have to part it.
[79:53]You part it and then you wipe in that area.
[79:58]Yes.
[79:57]Yes, sister.
[80:03]Yes.
[80:05]There's there's you could do woo.
[80:07]There's restroom in the train.
[80:10]And even in the buses when we take the buses, they're going
[80:12]to keep stopping.
[80:15]So every every hour or two hours they stop.
[80:16]There's a rest break.
[80:20]Pe people could could get down, do use the restroom.
[80:23]There is going to be a lot of people.
[80:26]Um, that's why we're going to try to we're going to try
[80:30]to stay together.
[80:30]Yes.
[80:32]I mean, while you're on the train or while we're on the
[80:36]bus, we don't it's not going to be salah time.
[80:39]So, we don't really need to be in the state of wudoo.
[80:40]And it's okay if someone is not in the state of woodoo
[80:44]all the time.
[80:45]You just want to make sure you're in the state of wudoo
[80:46]during the during the salah.
[80:49]When we enter into the masjid, there are times where we have
[80:51]to be in the state of wood.
[80:52]There are other times where we are we don't need to be
[80:55]in the state of woodoo.
[80:55]Yes.
[80:56]But there is there's plenty of restrooms and you know places where
[80:59]it would be okay.
[81:10]So, so don't think about it.
[81:20]That's number one.
[81:19]And second, this is the hajj.
[81:23]Yes.
[81:27]Traumatized.
[81:30]Yes.
[81:30]So, inshallah, this one won't be a won't be traumatizing.
[81:36]Inshallah, Allah will make things easy for us.
[81:38]Let me answer some of the questions that we have here.
[81:41]Um, for woo, how does the hair and feet h how dry
[81:45]does the hair and the feet have to be?
[81:48]Especially after we take a shower, would hair gel affect hair wiping?
[81:50]So, it should be dry enough where that you're wiping with a
[81:53]wet hand on a on something dry, not something wet.
[81:57]Two wet things are wiping each other.
[82:00]Hair gel, it might I I mean, I don't know if if
[82:04]it affects if it blocks.
[82:05]You just want it.
[82:07]You just need to make sure that it does not block the
[82:08]water from reaching.
[82:10]Do whatever you need to do to make sure that it did
[82:13]not block the water from reaching.
[82:16]Yes, brother.
[82:18]That's mustab that's recommended.
[82:21]Before you begin washing, you could just wipe you could just wa
[82:24]wash gargle or or put some water in your mouth.
[82:29]That's recommended.
[82:30]That's recommended.
[82:32]Yes.
[82:32]Yes.
[82:33]I mean, I'm not saying don't do it.
[82:36]Do it.
[82:37]It's recommended.
[82:35]But the actual woo is is the nia and then washing of
[82:43]the face.
[82:40]That's recommended.
[82:43]Yes, brother.
[82:45]No.
[82:46]In fact, it's mustab to leave some water on your on your
[82:53]arms uh when you're praying.
[82:55]There's nothing wrong with that.
[82:56]Yeah, you could you could stay you could keep it wet and
[82:59]let it air dry.
[83:00]It's actually mustab to let it air dry.
[83:02]Yes.
[83:03]Um who had their hands up?
[83:04]Yes, brother.
[83:11]Yes.
[83:24]Yeah, you could.
[83:25]You could.
[83:26]As long as you part and then there's you could feel you
[83:28]could feel the water, you know, you're you're wiping it's reaching your
[83:31]scalp.
[83:32]That's okay.
[83:34]Yes.
[83:35]Yes, brother.
[83:41]No, you could wipe it as much as you need.
[83:45]You could keep wiping, but taking water twice and then wiping that
[83:48]like I took once, I began to wipe that counts as one.
[83:53]I took water another time and that counts as a second gustla.
[83:59]Now, sometime sometimes I'm allowed to if the water is, for example,
[84:02]there's very little water dripping.
[84:04]So I could take water, I pour, pour, pour, pour, pour, and
[84:08]then I start wiping.
[84:11]That counts as one.
[84:10]But if I took water and I started wiping, that counts as
[84:18]one.
[84:15]Yes.
[84:16]Yes.
[84:17]Um, someone else had there.
[84:22]Okay.
[84:22]Um, for woo, uh, you mentioned that you should turn off the
[84:27]water.
[84:28]What if you're using a public bathroom and you don't know if
[84:31]the faucet handle is clean and it's been used by non-Muslims?
[84:35]So yes, I mean if you know it's nudes, then you then
[84:43]you don't touch it if you know it's but generally speaking we
[84:46]have a rule.
[84:51]Everything by default is pure unless you know it's nudas.
[84:57]So there's no need for me to have these assumptions.
[85:01]I just I just you know consider it pure.
[85:04]Or you could take water and put it on the faucet and
[85:07]that makes it and then you close it.
[85:10]There's no Muslim non-Muslim and there's no non-Muslims in Mecca.
[85:13]Yes.
[85:13]How about if a girl hair is wet?
[85:16]It's hard to dry completely to do woo.
[85:19]Can it be damp or it has to be completely dry?
[85:22]So just the place of wiping needs to be dry enough that
[85:25]you're wiping a wet hand on something that is dry.
[85:29]Damp maybe that's a little bit you need to kind of dry
[85:34]it so that it's a little bit drier than damp.
[85:39]Yes.
[85:36]Um train ride during the day is okay.
[85:42]Um for men no for sisters if they get that then yes
[85:45]anything is okay for the sisters but um for for the men
[85:51]we have to we have to avoid covering our head while traveling
[85:54]so this is going to be one of the issues um from
[85:59]now until we leave I can't remember what you said we should
[86:04]do about our hair can we keep it short still and shave
[86:07]it there that's fine you could you could go to the barber
[86:11]And you know the day before you leave you could if you
[86:13]want to do the mustab if you want to do that which
[86:18]is recommended is to grow it out until the time of the
[86:23]time that you shave.
[86:23]But if you can't you know you want to because of your
[86:27]job or because you want to stay you know you feel like
[86:29]you have to then that's totally okay.
[86:30]This is not it's not going against the the Hajj.
[86:34]It's just recommended to grow out your hair especially for first- timers.
[86:39]Okay.
[86:40]So this is the wudoo and um the salah.
[86:43]I'm sure we all know the salah.
[86:45]I'm going to go through this quickly and then we will end
[86:49]inshallah for the salah and then um next session we will we
[86:52]will cover the and um the the religious dues.
[86:57]So the salah my dear brothers and sisters is um there are
[87:02]some parts that are considered those the parts that are means that
[87:10]if I either purposely or on accident made an error in these
[87:17]parts the salah becomes and I have to restart the salah.
[87:21]So what are the number one is the nia.
[87:27]So can I just go and say Allahbar not knowing what I'm
[87:30]praying or not knowing who I'm praying for?
[87:32]No.
[87:32]I need to know is this is this is this is this
[87:36]is this is what salah is this.
[87:38]So this is something that is obvious.
[87:43]Second is meaning that when I'm praying what do I have to
[87:48]do?
[87:48]I have to stand.
[87:50]I have to stand when I'm praying.
[87:52]I can't sit down and say Allahbar when I'm praying.
[87:55]and you must be standing unless you have a legitimate valid excuse
[88:02]that stops you from standing.
[88:03]And this issue comes up a lot when we are praying in
[88:09]the airplane.
[88:08]When we're praying in the airplane, some people they're like, you know
[88:12]what, I can't do the and I can't do the sujud because
[88:15]I'm sitting in a chair and it's really tight.
[88:18]So therefore, let me just sit in my chair and say Allahbar
[88:20]in my chair.
[88:23]Here scholars they say that just during and during the recitation the
[88:31]another surah if you're able to stand stand in your seat then
[88:37]in the place of the and the sit in your chair and
[88:39]do the and the by gesturing but um is something that is
[88:46]one of the now if someone was unable to because for say
[88:49]for example the fasten seat belt sign is on or I'm I'm
[88:54]you know I have a leg problem something where I cannot stand
[88:57]then in that case I I would be able to sit down
[89:03]and then um another another um from the isam what is it
[89:11]is that first Allahbar that we say why is it called Yes,
[89:22]because as soon as I say Allahbar, everything becomes haram.
[89:29]Just like when I wear theam in Mecca, when I wear theam,
[89:31]everything becomes haram on me.
[89:33]There's about 26 things that become haram when I wear theam.
[89:38]When I enter into mazjid alam, why is it called haram?
[89:41]Because so many things are while I'm in there.
[89:47]So similarly when I do when I say Allahbar now can I
[89:53]turn turn around and start talking and start do you know doing
[89:56]things in the middle of the salah?
[89:57]No I can't that's it now I'm in the I'm in the
[90:01]state of salah I cannot do any of that.
[90:05]So saying Allahbar and it's I could say Allahbar without moving my
[90:12]hand but it's recommended to do this Allahbar and this gesture means
[90:19]I'm putting everything behind me and I'm focusing only on Allah Allahbar
[90:28]and then um the next is the so is how many three
[90:33]can I do it four.
[90:36]No, it makes it botting and then I bow down.
[90:48]I go all the way down and then I stand up again
[90:51]and then I go down to the sujud.
[90:57]I can't go down and then while I'm down I just dive
[90:59]into the into the uh sujud.
[91:01]No, I need to bow down and then I need to stand
[91:05]up and there needs to be some time.
[91:07]Some people they just go down and then they come up right
[91:11]away.
[91:12]It's it's not even considered standing for them.
[91:13]They need to bow down and then stand up and then they
[91:20]go down.
[91:21]It needs to be where when someone sees you, they say this
[91:24]person was bowing was standing bowed and then they stood again and
[91:30]then they went down to the sjud.
[91:32]So this is the and then the and that is each each
[91:35]time we do there are two sagas two times that we perform
[91:42]the sujud where we put our forehead on the ground when we
[91:46]go to Saudi Arabia over there what are we going to do
[91:52]sujud on yes so because this sagda is something that when we
[91:59]pray we pray on the turba or the or the so when
[92:02]we pray on this over there you're going to enter the masjids
[92:05]if they see that they might take it away from you so
[92:11]what we do no you can't pray on your nails you can't
[92:14]pray on your nails I don't a lot of people think that
[92:18]we cannot pray on our nails you pray on anything from the
[92:20]earth that is not edible and not wearable if it's made out
[92:28]of clay or if it's made out of rock or stone, you
[92:30]could do sjud on it.
[92:33]That's why when you're going in Mecca, we're not going to have
[92:37]a problem.
[92:38]Why?
[92:39]Because mjid haram is all marble floor.
[92:41]It's all marble floor.
[92:42]We could do sujud on that.
[92:43]We're not going to have a problem and there's no issue whatsoever.
[92:48]Where do we have the problem?
[92:49]In Medina.
[92:51]In Mazjid and Nebi.
[92:51]Mazjid and Nebi.
[92:54]When we first land, we're going to go to the masjid.
[92:56]And the masjid is most of it is carpeted and people are
[93:02]praying on the carpet.
[93:06]So either you take a small um sba or you have the
[93:12]the from you know stone or from the soil of kbala you
[93:15]carry it with you.
[93:17]you kind of you have to be a little bit discreet or
[93:20]um if you hide your turb like you're holding it in your
[93:28]hand or then there's also the what is the straw the straw
[93:30]you could put you know some of the some of the prayer
[93:34]mats they have the straw on them you could pray on straw
[93:36]from or or a leaf from a tree any of that you
[93:41]could do sujud on and or what you have to do is
[93:45]pray on the marble like there are places in the in the
[93:47]masjid of the prophets where the carpet ends and then and then
[93:53]you you see like there's a line of marble.
[93:54]That's where we you see all the Shia are standing in the
[93:58]front line because they're all and then they're all kind of breaking
[94:00]the line, you know, they're like a few steps ahead because they
[94:06]want to do sujud on the on the marble.
[94:10]Yes.
[94:07]Yes, brother.
[94:11]Anyone?
[94:13]Yes.
[94:11]and they take your So if you are in a state of
[94:21]fear for your life or you're going to they're going to come
[94:23]and take you and they're going to jeopardize your whole Hajj then
[94:25]you just do sujud on anything.
[94:30]No, we don't.
[94:32]We're going to try to the whole time we're going to ver,
[94:37]you know, we're just going doing our Hajj and we're going to
[94:39]leave.
[94:40]We're not going to say anything and do anything that is going
[94:43]to attract negative attention to us.
[94:45]So scholars allow you to if you are in a state where
[94:51]you are worried there's nothing.
[94:51]If you have paper you pray on paper.
[94:53]You have something to take out pray on it.
[94:56]If you don't then you do sujud on on the on the
[95:01]carpet over there.
[94:59]It's okay.
[95:01]But if yes no it does not have to be repeated.
[95:06]That is not something that would invalidate the salah.
[95:08]Unless you chose on purpose and there was no valid legitimate excuse
[95:12]and you chose to pray on carpet, then it would invalidate the
[95:16]salah.
[95:17]But if you if you were in a state of fear for
[95:20]your life or they took it away from you, then it would
[95:23]be okay.
[95:24]Yes, sister.
[95:25]Mwak is a piece of wood.
[95:28]You could pray on that.
[95:28]Yes.
[95:29]Yes, sister.
[95:33]The saga needs to be as big as this this top of
[95:41]the thumb.
[95:39]So this is this is the minimum.
[95:42]This is the minimum that it needs to be.
[95:45]So you you this part of the thumb the part where the
[95:49]nail is where that is the minimum.
[95:51]So you just need to make sure that you are doing sjud
[95:56]on any of that.
[95:56]Can we pick up the turba after each?
[96:01]You can.
[95:58]Yes, you can do that.
[96:01]Um, are we going to share the link for the video?
[96:03]Yes, we will.
[96:05]Inshallah.
[96:06]Any Yes, brother.
[96:11]Yes.
[96:11]This is a stone.
[96:14]It's not edible.
[96:14]It's not wearable.
[96:15]It's from the earth.
[96:16]You could do sujud on it.
[96:19]You could do sjud on wood.
[96:19]Any of that.
[96:22]So these are the the sagd we that's that's the only place
[96:24]where we're going to have some type of issues in mazjidi or
[96:28]when we go to the other massagid um otherwise everywhere else we
[96:34]should be fine.
[96:33]One of the thing take a prayer mat with you or you're
[96:36]going to be able to buy there's you know there's a lot
[96:40]of prayer mats but take a sa for example to do um
[96:43]take a tba with you and something small a drawstring bag where
[96:49]you're able to put all of these things in and then you
[96:51]take them out when you need them.
[96:52]Okay, there are certain things that if you um mistakenly forget these,
[97:00]it does not invalidate the salah.
[97:02]But if you if you forget those on purpose, then it will
[97:04]invalidate the salah.
[97:08]Yes.
[97:09]Go ahead, brother.
[97:08]Okay.
[97:10]Go ahead.
[97:11]Yes, you're allowed to wear the bag during.
[97:13]You're allowed to carry things and and wear a bag during.
[97:22]There's nothing wrong with that.
[97:21]Yes.
[97:21]Yes.
[97:22]Hajj.
[97:24]the slippers.
[97:29]Yes.
[97:35]So, I'm going to send pictures in the group of some type
[97:39]of slippers.
[97:40]This is of course for the brothers.
[97:42]The sisters, they could wear any type of shoes.
[97:46]For the brothers, the majority of the top of your foot should
[97:50]be revealed those because it's not too big that probably some would
[97:55]allow it.
[97:56]I've seen some they come and they cut a hole in the
[98:00]middle of it just so like around it's it's covered but in
[98:02]the middle of it they cut a hole or the flip-flops those
[98:07]they're not really comfortable and that's that's also one of the one
[98:11]of the difficulties of the Hajj.
[98:12]There's a lot of walking.
[98:13]Of course, not the whole Hajj.
[98:16]You need to wear those.
[98:17]Only during the state ofam.
[98:18]There's also the the type of um the ones that have the
[98:24]strap on the sandals that have the straps, you know, that holds
[98:27]you from from the ankles and then there's one in the front,
[98:33]but then the whole um like top of the the top of
[98:34]the foot is revealed.
[98:37]Those would be very good as well.
[98:38]Those would be very good.
[98:39]they they you know they're comfortable for walking and you would be
[98:42]able to but brothers and sisters brothers especially there is a 99
[98:49]I don't know about the chances there's a huge chance you might
[98:55]lose those so if you bought something you know very expensive and
[98:59]it got lost please you know yes either bring extra or be
[99:04]ready to buy from there and there's plenty over there yes so
[99:07]you can't put it in your bag you could put it in
[99:10]your bag.
[99:11]But when you're in when you're in the going to the or
[99:14]you're or you're um you know in Mina in during the someone
[99:20]steps on your toe, someone steps on your sandals and you have
[99:23]to free yourself to get out.
[99:24]It's gone.
[99:25]It's stuck with all the hundreds of sandals there.
[99:28]So you're going to see a lot of sandals over there that
[99:31]are that are just thrown around.
[99:33]So um from the other mandatory steps that intentionally skipping of these
[99:38]parts invalidates the prayer accidental mistake does not invalidate is one of
[99:43]them is the recitation of the Quran fat and another surah.
[99:49]Now this we have to try to recite and especially about the
[99:56]Hajj the reason I'm saying this is we have to try to
[100:02]recite as best as we can.
[100:03]We should not, you know, just be careless.
[100:05]This is why if you feel like you're not re reciting correctly,
[100:08]you know, go to someone who who can recite and recite the
[100:13]Quran in front of them and try to perfect it.
[100:15]Now, if your tongue is that's it you that's the best that
[100:20]you can do.
[100:21]Allah is going to accept that.
[100:22]But where is the important and this they bring it up when
[100:25]it comes to the prerequisites of the Hajj?
[100:28]There are two places where speaking or saying things is a part
[100:34]of the Hajj.
[100:36]One is when we are wearing the we have to say the
[100:39]what is the you say that you're in the state ofam.
[100:52]You need to say that correctly and we're going to repeat that.
[100:57]And it's when we enter into the state ofam to say that
[100:59]70 times or until you seek.
[101:04]So it's to to say that meaning God you invited me I'm
[101:07]answering the call and then in the salah as well because after
[101:13]each there's a two prayer.
[101:13]So we have to make sure we are doing our prayer correctly.
[101:15]The and then the in the third and the fourth we have
[101:20]the subhan allah alhamdulillah and then the which is in the second
[101:30]and in the fourth or the last and after the when we
[101:37]are ending the salah we say the salam.
[101:48]So you're out of the prayer.
[101:56]This next is to say it.
[101:57]And then another two very important steps in the salah is the
[102:02]meaning it needs to be in order.
[102:06]I can't skip bring the sujud before the before this and that
[102:10]these I can't skip around and the mat meaning uninterrupted we said
[102:14]in the in the you need malat you can't be interrupted in
[102:19]theul you don't need mat in the salah you need malat it
[102:21]needs to be uninterrupted so this is um regarding the salah what
[102:28]else do we have does anyone have any questions regarding what has
[102:31]been mentioned yes Once is sufficient.
[102:40]It's mustab to say it three times.
[102:44]No, once or twice is okay.
[102:47]Yes.
[102:48]Three times we usually say it just to make sure that one
[102:51]of them is we've said it in a in a correct manner.
[102:54]Yes.
[102:55]Any other questions?
[102:57]Okay.
[102:58]So um we're going to let me see for at the end
[103:06]of salah.
[103:03]Isn't the last the one?
[103:07]No.
[103:12]The the second one takes you out of the salah.
[103:16]The the third one is okay.
[103:19]Do we have recommendation of where we can buy theam for the
[103:25]brothers?
[103:23]We're going to all buy theam once we get there in Medina.
[103:27]We have a couple days in Medina.
[103:29]The hotels that we're staying in, all of the there's stores around
[103:34]the haram.
[103:33]We go and we buyam from over there.
[103:35]Every year I go, I buy my haram over there and I
[103:39]leave it over there because, you know, or sometimes you bring it
[103:41]back if you want to.
[103:44]You can.
[103:43]You could buy on Amazon.
[103:46]They sell some, but they have the pins and the stitches and
[103:48]things like that.
[103:50]Just buy from over there and you'll be safe.
[103:52]And it's probably a lot cheaper.
[103:54]Yes, brother.
[103:53]How many?
[103:56]So, because we're doing the Hajj, probably having more than one is
[104:02]good.
[104:03]Each each set comes with two pieces.
[104:06]So, probably by the time you you um after you're going to
[104:14]have to wash it because you do you do the the omrah
[104:19]you enter into Mecca, it gets sweaty.
[104:21]It needs it needs to be washed.
[104:22]You could wash it and then you could wear it again when
[104:24]you performed the Hajj.
[104:27]Sometimes if some people feel like when we used to go in
[104:29]the winter, it used to be cold.
[104:33]So then you would be able to throw another piece of uham
[104:35]on you if it got cold.
[104:38]Now you're not going to get cold.
[104:39]But just in case if you're worried it gets dirty or something,
[104:41]you could buy another one.
[104:42]But you could always buy the second one from Mecca as well.
[104:46]So you don't have to buy it right away.
[104:49]In Medina, we usually just buy one and you buy the slippers
[104:51]and you buy the himyan.
[104:55]The brothers are going to need a belt.
[104:59]A belt that holds your money, it holds also your your uh
[105:03]dignity because it's if theam falls then everything falls.
[105:09]So so here you have to you you need something that holds
[105:16]youram and it needs to be a good belt.
[105:19]Usually we buy them over there as well.
[105:20]We we we buy them over there and they have pockets in
[105:23]them.
[105:24]Of course, we don't carry when we go inside haram.
[105:28]I'm going to keep telling you and reminding you, you don't carry
[105:31]money.
[105:31]You don't take in money when you go inside maz haram.
[105:33]There's safe boxes in the in the hotel.
[105:36]You leave your money there because there are thieves.
[105:40]There are people that are going to take advantage of that moment
[105:43]and they have knives and they'll cut the they'll cut the um
[105:48]the himyan and they'll take whatever is in there.
[105:51]So go with something very minimal.
[105:53]You don't you might not even need money.
[105:55]Maybe a 100 real 200 real that's enough.
[105:58]Yes, brother.
[105:57]So we don't need a bag for our phone.
[106:00]So yes um if you have a bag you usually need a
[106:06]bag for like you take a water bottle with you.
[106:09]You you put your prayer mat in there.
[106:11]You put a TBA in there.
[106:12]You're going to put your slippers in there.
[106:15]And then you could also put your phone.
[106:17]But you need to when we're going to do the taw, inshallah,
[106:21]we're going to go in as a group.
[106:22]So when we go in as a group, we'll be protected inshallah.
[106:25]Especially those who are in the middle.
[106:27]So we we try to put like don't put a bag behind
[106:30]you.
[106:31]Put it in front of you so that you could so that
[106:34]you're you're watching yourself and then you don't know what's going on
[106:37]behind you.
[106:38]And you're not allowed to.
[106:38]We're going to go over this.
[106:39]You were not allowed to while doing tawah.
[106:41]I can't turn around.
[106:44]I can't turn my back.
[106:44]I have to keep my shoulder to thea.
[106:47]So these are all things that we are going to inshallah go
[106:50]over.
[106:50]If you wash theam, can you use detergent since they might be
[106:55]scented?
[106:54]You could, but you don't want the scent to remain.
[106:57]If the scent remains, then it's it's you don't want that or
[107:02]you don't want to be if it has a scent, you don't
[107:03]want to be smelling it.
[107:05]Um, can you please confirm that the third salam is the main
[107:09]one to the completed salah?
[107:10]Yes.
[107:11]Um, I didn't say the third one.
[107:13]The f the second one the second one is the one that
[107:17]takes you out of the salah.
[107:18]The third is recommended and we will inshallah share the link for
[107:25]this video.
[107:23]Any other questions here?
[107:27]Yes.
[107:26]Theam for the sisters.
[107:29]I don't know what to tell you.
[107:31]Um, you might be able to buy here.
[107:36]I don't know if there are some stores that sell here.
[107:38]If you couldn't, they sell them over there as well.
[107:43]If if if Where do they getamam for the sisters?
[107:47]Oh, what is theam for the sisters?
[107:52]For the sisters is any clothes.
[107:53]Any any any type of clothing.
[107:54]It's mustab to be white.
[107:55]Recommended, not waj.
[107:58]You could wear as long as it's a type of clothing that
[108:00]is that is covering and and it does not have zena does
[108:06]not have any adornment in it.
[108:08]That's it.
[108:09]What's recommended is that it should be white.
[108:10]If it's not white, it's okay.
[108:13]There's people that are wearing other colors.
[108:14]But where do you buy it from?
[108:18]Maybe there are stores that sell here.
[108:20]If you did not find, you'll find in Medina.
[108:22]We land in Medina.
[108:22]We're going to have about three, four, three days, I believe.
[108:25]So in Medina, you're going to have time to find.
[108:29]Yes.
[108:31]Yes.
[108:36]Are we going to be separated?
[108:39]No.
[108:40]Um there are places where we do get separated.
[108:43]Not in the in the mazjid haram is the only masjid where
[108:50]you see men and women are praying together.
[108:52]There's no way to to kind of make it like in other
[108:56]mosques.
[108:57]Of course, they try at salah time.
[108:59]They come and they say, "Put the men here and the woman
[109:01]here." They separate sometimes, but generally you can't you can't really have
[109:06]it always be separated, especially after we do the bybraim where we're
[109:10]praying.
[109:11]After that, you're going to see women and men praying all over.
[109:16]So, when we do the we should generally be together.
[109:18]There are going to be places in the women will be in
[109:22]in one part of the tent.
[109:23]The men are going to be in one part of the camp.
[109:27]No, no, not five days.
[109:33]So, I'm going to I'm going to um go over it very
[109:39]quickly.
[109:37]I'm going to go over it very quickly of what we do
[109:41]and then we will end because I'm going to cover all of
[109:45]this.
[109:45]The Hajj begins with Omra.
[109:48]We wear theam.
[109:49]We wear theam in Medina in our hotel.
[109:52]Then then we go to mazjid.
[109:55]Mazjid is in Medina in in Medina and that's where the prophet
[110:02]that's the Mik.
[110:04]There's entry points to Mecca.
[110:05]They're called Mik.
[110:07]The Mik of the people of Medina is we go to Mazj.
[110:12]There we do the nia.
[110:12]We do we do the nia and we say I enter into
[110:18]the state of for which will take me to then we go
[110:30]to Mecca.
[110:32]When we arrive to Mecca, we go to the hotel.
[110:35]We drop off our our belongings.
[110:36]You do you could eat, you could do wudoo, you could do
[110:38]whatever you need to do.
[110:40]Then we go to the haram.
[110:41]We're going to go as a group.
[110:42]We are going to doaw se when I say I mean seven
[110:48]times walking around the kaa beginning at the black stone.
[110:52]Next time we I'm going to have pictures and everything.
[110:54]We we walk around the ka seven times.
[110:57]Once we're done at the seventh round after we finish at the
[111:00]black stone, then we then we go to then we go behind
[111:07]Ibraim and we prayers prayers.
[111:12]We pray behind Ibraim.
[111:13]Then we go to the andw the which is a part of
[111:17]the masjid.
[111:19]It's just not in the masjid.
[111:19]By the way, that area the mah ladies can go and anyone
[111:25]who is not in the state of meaning a lady who is
[111:30]in while during her menstrual cycle she could go in the mas
[111:34]but inside mazjid haram you cannot enter inside any masjid you cannot
[111:37]enter during in the mas you can enter and from the saf
[111:40]if you're standing on the safa you could see the ka so
[111:43]that's where sometimes some people who are unable to enter into the
[111:49]masjid they go on the saf and they look at thea because
[111:50]another looking at thea is so there we do the walk from
[111:59]saf to marwa then marwa to saf that's two then saf to
[112:02]marwa three marwa to safa four saf to marwa five marwa to
[112:10]saf six saf to marwa seven once you're done seven times then
[112:15]we take small scissors or nail clip nail clippers and we um
[112:23]you cut a little bit of your hair and the Omrah is
[112:27]done.
[112:27]You go, you could use cologne, you could you take a shower,
[112:30]you do anything.
[112:32]We're going to wait in Mecca for about a week.
[112:35]So it depends on what day we get to Mecca.
[112:39]We wait all the way until the eth of eth of then
[112:43]we enter into the again.
[112:44]We go to we spend the whole day in that night at
[112:49]night 9th of at night.
[112:49]We go to Malifa.
[112:51]We spend the night in Malifa.
[112:54]We collect the stones in Malifa.
[112:55]We wake up in Malifa.
[112:56]When you wake up in Malifa, you have your ammo with you.
[113:01]And where you're going now?
[113:01]You go to Shayan.
[113:04]You go to Mina.
[113:04]And it's the day of Eid.
[113:07]It's the 10th in the morning.
[113:08]You go to Mina.
[113:08]There you walk.
[113:10]That's going to be a long walk.
[113:12]It's going to be a little bit tiring.
[113:14]We we walk to Mina and then we go to the Jamarat.
[113:19]There's pillars that represent Shayan.
[113:21]We do one of them seven times.
[113:23]Once you do that, then we wait.
[113:26]They tell us they slaughtered your sheep.
[113:28]By the way, each one has to each Hajj has to slaughter
[113:32]one sheep.
[113:34]And we're going to tell the group.
[113:36]You give them the money, $100, whatever it is.
[113:37]And you give that person wala.
[113:40]You tell them, I want you to slaughter on my behalf.
[113:41]So then they call us, they tell us they've done the they've
[113:47]slaughtered on our behalf.
[113:47]Once they've done that, then the sisters, they do and the brothers,
[113:51]they either do or they shave and then they could wear their
[113:57]clothes once again.
[113:58]Then you have that night, the 10th at night and the 11th
[114:04]at night, you need to spend half the night in Mina.
[114:09]But we could go back to the hotel and then come to
[114:14]Mina.
[114:15]We just need to spend six hours in Mina.
[114:19]So yes, you you could stay in the tent or you could
[114:21]just stay, you know, in Mina.
[114:22]There's a masjid.
[114:24]But yeah, there's there's tents for the we stay there that the
[114:28]12th day the 12th day at noon time by the way the
[114:33]10th you do the ramy only one of them the 11th you
[114:36]also do the ramy the stoning and the 12th you do the
[114:38]ramy and then the 12th at noon hajj is finished.
[114:42]This is what you need to do in Mecca you need to
[114:47]do oneaw one and one and the hajj is over.
[114:51]So Hajj will be over on the 12th of at noon time
[114:57]if you have done your and your and the Hajj will be
[115:04]over.
[115:02]Yes.
[115:03]Yes.
[115:04]This should be all done as a group.
[115:06]Inshallah we will um we will um go over all of these.
[115:12]Right now I was just going through this quickly.
[115:15]I wanted to make sure we go over the prerequisites.
[115:16]Inshallah, next session we're going to talk about.
[115:21]We're going to talk about our religious dues and we're going to
[115:25]talk about our and then the session after we're going to talk
[115:27]about the in Medina.
[115:30]What are the sites?
[115:30]What are you going to see in Medina which we will do
[115:35]in Medina?
[115:37]I'm going to go over it and then we're going to begin
[115:40]talking about the how do you enter into what are the 26
[115:44]things that invalidate or things that are haram to do during the
[115:49]and then the last session we will talk about the which is
[115:53]and the so yes so if you go to the masjid All
[116:05]the masjids over there, they have jama prayer.
[116:08]So it's recommended when you're there inj,000 prayers.
[116:14]The salah injam is worth 100,000 prayers.
[116:19]100,000 prayers in mazjid haram.
[116:21]That's why you if you can try to be at haram or
[116:26]mazji as much as you can while you're there because that's the
[116:29]best place to be and the salah is worth the most over
[116:35]there.
[116:33]from walking distance from the Anjum Hotel.
[116:38]Um, yes, the the upgrade it's walking distance.
[116:43]It's about I've stayed in it before.
[116:45]It's just maybe 5 minutes and you'll be you'll be at the
[116:51]haram.
[116:52]But the the other one staying in Aizia or staying in the
[116:55]other place, it's going to take some time.
[116:59]If there's no traffic, maybe 10, 15, 15 minutes.
[117:02]But if there's traffic and on the days of the Hajj, there
[117:05]is going to be traffic, it's going to take a little bit
[117:11]longer.
[117:07]Yes.
[117:09]Okay.
[117:10]Yes, sister.
[117:18]be one group arriving to the Mecca hotel and then there's another
[117:24]one arriving in Aizia.
[117:24]So, we're going to see how we could arrange where the other
[117:31]group comes and then we enter together if we were able to
[117:34]do that logistically.
[117:36]I don't know.
[117:35]I mean, it's the roads might be closed.
[117:37]You you never know what's going to happen.
[117:40]But with the other group, Fuad is going to be there as
[117:44]well and I'm going to be in the one in in um
[117:45]in in Mecca.
[117:47]So we will try to be together but if we couldn't then
[117:51]there is always going to be someone leading the group.
[117:54]Yes.
[117:54]Inshallah.
[117:55]Yes sister.
[117:59]It depends.
[118:00]If you're nice to the men maybe they'll maybe they'll choose to
[118:05]do it.
[118:06]So in some groups some groups they have they have actual like
[118:10]workers you know they bring people that they do that.
[118:14]They're not in the Hajj.
[118:14]But when you have when you know when we go into the
[118:18]Omrah a lot of people it's their first time too the men
[118:22]so it's there for them it's also a little bit difficult but
[118:24]we will try to organize it in a way where we have
[118:27]the woman in the middle inshallah I told them to give us
[118:34]those mics so that we I could recite the duas and those
[118:37]who are following they just listen to the headset inshallah.
[118:42]Yes.
[118:41]Um, can we have a family member sacrifice a sheep for us?
[118:47]Um, a lot of the scholars they say no.
[118:51]Um, they say that you need you need um you need to
[118:57]do it in Mecca.
[118:56]You need to do it in mazjid alam.
[118:58]Um, one of the brothers he sent about the the last the
[119:05]the the salah.
[119:06]The obligatory greeting that the worshipper says when he leaves the prayer
[119:10]is the third greeting.
[119:12]And the worshipper can be content with saying it.
[119:14]And the obligatory part of it is saying the recommended precaution is
[119:21]to add the phrase.
[119:25]So saying that is what takes you out of the salah.
[119:29]Yes.
[119:30]May Allah Yes, brother.
[119:36]They they import them.
[119:39]They bring them.
[119:44]No.
[119:44]If you're doing kaf, you could do it anytime.
[119:46]After the hajj, we could do it.
[119:47]You do it in your own town, in your own country.
[119:50]You do it after.
[119:53]But that one, some scholars, they say you're allowed to do it
[119:56]outside.
[119:56]But the majority of scholars, they say it needs to be done
[119:57]in Mecca.
[119:59]And that one as well, there's a part that is given to
[120:03]you could give to people.
[120:03]There's a part that you could take for yourself.
[120:06]But because we're in the Hajj, I mean, how are you going
[120:12]to take the the meat for yourself?
[120:13]So we There is enough.
[120:14]Yes, there's enough.
[120:15]Yes, brother.
[120:16]We don't have to sacrifice.
[120:17]No, you could if you want to, but they don't allow them
[120:21]in Mina.
[120:22]In the past, they used to bring you could see sheep being
[120:25]slaughtered in Mina.
[120:26]Now they've they there's a musl there's a slaughter house outside of
[120:30]Mina and that's where government regulations.
[120:33]So they you just have to we just have to find someone
[120:35]trustworthy that we we tell this person they'll arrange for us inshallah
[120:39]that we tell them I give you nyaba with kala so that
[120:45]you slaughter on my behalf the poor people they in the past
[120:48]they they sent part of it to the poor people and I
[120:52]don't know what happened but that's just something that we just we
[120:55]just want to make sure they did it.
[121:00]Yes, there is.
[121:00]There is.
[121:01]Yes.
[121:02]Yes, sister.
[121:07]What currency?
[121:10]You take cash.
[121:12]They There's a lot of places that accept credit card, Visa, and
[121:15]then you take cash with you.
[121:19]There's places that exchange money.
[121:20]So, you go, you find a place that exchanges money.
[121:22]They'll give you real, Saudi realal.
[121:26]The $100 is about 375 Saudi real.
[121:30]So with 375 Saudi real, you're you'll be able to buy and
[121:36]and a lot of things that you need.
[121:39]Yes, sister.
[121:43]Not tomorrow.
[121:45]Next Friday.
[121:47]No, tomorrow.
[121:45]Oh, tomorrow with Raj.
[121:49]Okay.
[121:51]We can't hear what you're saying.
[121:58]I don't know if they're going to provide that, but I'm going
[122:02]to send you the link of the duas.
[122:04]So, I'll send you the duas for the dua for the You
[122:08]could have it on your phone.
[122:09]So, everyone will have their phone in their hand and then you
[122:14]will be able to read from that.
[122:15]But inshallah, maybe they'll give us a book as well.
[122:16]Yes.
[122:17]Yes, sister.
[122:19]AirPods acceptable.
[122:19]Yes, they are.
[122:21]You could listen to dua.
[122:22]By the way, you're not just going to do these.
[122:24]There's a lot of every day you go to the haram, you
[122:28]could do around the haram and you read any dua dua duamza
[122:31]and whatever it is.
[122:35]Yes.
[122:36]No.
[122:37]No.
[122:37]Exchange over there.
[122:39]Exchange over there.
[122:40]How much money do you take?
[122:44]It depends on how much you want to buy.
[122:46]How many gifts do you want to take for your family and
[122:49]all of that?
[122:50]So, I mean, maybe if you if you're not maybe something very
[122:58]minimum, maybe like $1,000 can get very Yeah.
[123:02]If if you're staying away from the haram, the taxis are going
[123:06]to get expensive.
[123:08]So, just because you're taking the money doesn't mean you have to
[123:11]spend it all.
[123:12]You could just keep it with you and then if you needed
[123:14]it, if you needed it, you could spend.
[123:15]Some people take a little bit up to 5,000.
[123:18]and some people even more.
[123:21]So it depends on but the hotels are going to be paid
[123:23]for the every the food for the most part it's going to
[123:28]be paid for.
[123:28]So it's just about what you want to spend over there.
[123:31]Yes.
[123:32]Okay.
[123:33]So inshallah we're going to meet uh next Friday as well.
[123:39]And um can we use card or is everything cash?
[123:45]Some places accept card.
[123:44]Uh, inshallah, next
