[0:00]I believe I believe it has to be a balanced uh approach
[0:03]you need some alone time you need to disconnect sometimes to reflect
[0:06]and you know refreshing yourself but at the same time you want
[0:11]to make sure that you're engaged in society and people are benefiting
[0:15]from the talents and skills that you all [Music] have um brother
[0:25]Ahmed touched upon a very crucial topic um reflection um if you
[0:29]really think about reflection it's very vital and it's crucial especially in
[0:33]our Salah and in our worship the holy prophet says that the
[0:38]one year or one hour of reflection is greater than 70 years
[0:41]of dry worship so you think about this and the prophet why
[0:46]he's trying to tell you is that he doesn't want you to
[0:47]make it a daily routine where you're just doing movements or you're
[0:52]doing R you're coming up he wants you to reflect on this
[0:55]and so um today is a perfect example today is Friday so
[1:02]if you look at in the Holy Quran it says so Allah
[1:21]subhana wa ta'ala he's saying here all people all you who believe
[1:24]when it's called for the prayer on Fridays come to the prayer
[1:28]of Allah and leave your business you can come back to that
[1:31]later because this is more important and then he says in the
[1:35]next verse then go out and seek the blessings of Allah subhana
[1:38]wa tala and he says I think this is very essential because
[1:42]he says and remember Allah often he doesn't say pray often he
[1:47]doesn't say fast often he says remember Allah remembering Allah can be
[1:51]done in many different ways not just in Salah I remember a
[1:54]story from the holy prophet's time where there was this man who
[1:59]used to pray so many so many so many hour it spend
[2:00]so many so much time in the mask so they asked him
[2:05]Yol Allah is this this man prays and he he he's he
[2:09]lasts a long time in his Salah his brother he comes and
[2:11]he prays quickly and he goes he said which one is greater
[2:15]now if you really think about it some people might come and
[2:18]tell you you know what this is the one who prays you
[2:21]know he gives Allah time he's humble in his Salah but Allah
[2:23]subana is to judge not us so he ends up saying Allah
[2:27]says it's the one it's his brother who prays quickly why because
[2:31]he's praying and he's going and seeking a living for his family
[2:35]Imam sadik says the one who provides for his family is like
[2:41]the one who is uh on the front lines in battle like
[2:43]like we have today in Iraq withi and the other um Fighters
[2:48]that are defending their country the one who provides for their family
[2:52]is just like that so I think it's very crucial that we
[2:54]remember Allah often we can get very busy in our lives we
[2:59]got work we got families um so I think it's uh very
[3:02]essential for us to uh remember Allah and um inshallah brother Ahmed
[3:09]if you'd like to add on to that um let's open up
[3:13]to the audience if you guys would like to share any personal
[3:16]opinions about times that you went through where you kind of disconnected
[3:20]from society any benefits that you experienced and how you managed to
[3:25]reconnect I was thinking about you and brother Ali were saying and
[3:43]I realized the best way to disconnect from this world and to
[3:47]join Allah is ironically to reconnect with this world so through you
[3:53]disconnect from this world by reconnecting IM husin even on the last
[3:57]moment he says this world is is like a goes three ways
[4:08]it's the relationship between us and Allah us and people and so
[4:17]includes Allah people and you you can find Allah Mahi says lose
[4:21]yourself in the service of others and he also says at the
[4:24]same time find yourself in the service of others so through serving
[4:27]others as brother Ali said you find Allah subhana wa tala through
[4:32]discovering yourself like the sufis do you also find Allah subhana wa
[4:37]tala and through knowing the value of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala you
[4:40]know the value of the human being that's part of Allah subhanahu
[4:42]wa taala so when we look at the world we need to
[4:47]realize that we must reconnect with the world and like the myc
[4:50]does between each other we must reconnect between each other so that
[4:56]we can uh so that we can find Allah subhana Tal so
[5:02]if you could just Briefly summarize how exactly is reconnecting actually connecting
[5:08]because when we reconnect when I serve the creation of Allah subhanahu
[5:13]wa ta'ala this what's the purpose for example the sufis that say
[5:16]they want to disconnect from the world the purpose is to get
[5:20]closer to Allah everything that we do even Allah says when you
[5:26]don't do I take that we throw it at the wall don't
[5:29]there's no sh you can't say for this to gain closeness to
[5:34]this and Allah we only gain closeness to Allah and Allah why
[5:39]do we have let's say we want to do something uh to
[5:41]get closer to Allah obviously we need the instructions from Allah and
[5:44]Allah says get closer to me you're getting closer to people so
[5:50]when we're reconnecting with the with people we're achieving the goal of
[5:56]those who disconnect so that they reach time um so this good
[6:04]so when you reconnect with people or when you connect with people
[6:09]in general you you you can gain nearness to Allah through that
[6:12]that means right yes the primary source of so generally people disconnect
[6:17]not only to gain nearness to Allah but because they're so immersed
[6:22]in this world and it's hard to find yourself while you're so
[6:27]busy committed to so many other things uh so maybe can you
[6:32]elaborate on how we could disconnect in a safe fashion and then
[6:36]reconnect in the end everything we do should be directed towards gaining
[6:39]nearness to Allah but can you elaborate a little bit about the
[6:45]disconnection not only the connection an example of this connection is it
[6:53]takes the soul away from what Away From Evil do so that's
[7:01]the disconnection but at the same time it's too problem in Salat
[7:03]what's the greatest Salat the Salat that you pray in congregation with
[7:07]people reconnecting so your disconnection must be through the reconnection when we
[7:13]want to when we want to isolate ourselves and find that space
[7:17]uh that safe hole for ourselves to discover ourselves so we discover
[7:23]Allah we do that in groups together but at the same time
[7:25]that's also Islam stresses on the individual aspect at the same time
[7:28]we have the individ ual aspect but what we grow through people
[7:34]let's give Unice a loud salaat so it sounds like you're basically
[7:42]saying there are good connections and bad connections so we have to
[7:47]highlight the good connections that we have with other people because they'll
[7:50]uh enhance our connection with Allah does anyone want to suggest things
[7:54]that they have trouble disconnecting from and what are things that we
[7:59]want to disconnect from cuz we're not saying that you need to
[8:01]disconnect from this world obviously we need to be productive people in
[8:04]society we need to be concerned about how uh where Society is
[8:08]heading we need to be concerned about our family about our friends
[8:13]about our community so we need to be connected but what are
[8:16]some of the things we need to disconnect from and how do
[8:19]we do that from uh negative social media okay uh like such
[8:28]as Facebook so if you if you a comment on a topic
[8:32]try to comment in a positive light and not so much a
[8:34]negative light um because all that stuff that you end up posting
[8:40]will stay there forever it doesn't go away so always try to
[8:43]post in a positive and if you can't do that don't post
[8:48]at all social media is a huge one I was waiting for
[8:50]it to come up um because we all talk about social media
[8:55]being a way to connect but I think you like you're suggesting
[8:57]you need to be selective on how you're connecting in right there's
[9:00]not not everything needs to be displayed on social media and a
[9:06]lot of it is um poor use of time you know cuz
[9:10]that's a minute that you can never regain so you have to
[9:13]be selective in how you're using that as well Dina want the
[9:17][Music] mic I don't think we should disconnect from this world like
[9:27]you said but it's really important to disconnect from the love we
[9:30]can have for this world because if we do get caught up
[9:35]with um this world and loving it then we will fail to
[9:36]reconnect with Allah subhana wa tala I something I don't know if
[9:46]I need a mic or now but okay thanks um I think
[9:48]one big thing that people need to disconnect from is like peer
[9:53]pressure hanging out with like the wrong group cuz that really rubs
[9:56]off on you and stuff so I mean I really think that
[9:59]if you like pick a good group of friends and they'll encourage
[10:02]you to do better things so do you have do you have
[10:06]any ways that you can identify cuz sometimes it's hard for us
[10:09]to see for ourselves that we're hanging out with the wrong crowd
[10:12]is there ways that you've learned to kind of self-assess or how
[10:17]do you find out that you're hanging out with the wrong crowd
[10:19]and you need to realign I mean like sometimes you have a
[10:24]friend and you know like you're really close to them and they're
[10:26]nice to you and stuff but when you see them with like
[10:30]other people um they act like you know different like you see
[10:32]them and you know they're just a different person than you think
[10:34]and you just have to know to like stay away from them
[10:37]like you can still have them there as a friend but you
[10:40]know don't get too close cuz they could bring you down so
[10:45]you could also maybe um encourage them right try to pull them
[10:50]over to your to your positive influence I just want something um
[10:53]also um she reminded me of a very good point she said
[10:58]of uh disconnecting from Pure pressure um I think something that's very
[11:01]important is to disconnect from the societal Norms that we live around
[11:06]societal Norms that are placed on us in these communities especially here
[11:12]in the west we got some of our youth who think that
[11:14]this is the right way to go this is the straight path
[11:18]um the people who are religious they're close-minded they're more traditional if
[11:23]you look at R Allah and when he came to Arabia he
[11:28]banned the um burying of infants um he he what's it called
[11:33]what was the other point yes he encouraged education or something else
[11:38]but I lost it so Allah he came and he he changed
[11:43]these Traditions he changed these societal Norms that were placed by Arabia
[11:47]in his time so he's telling us that you don't have to
[11:49]follow these societal Norms in our time today you you you look
[11:54]at them you analyze and assess is it right or wrong Allah
[11:56]subhana wa tala he's given each and every one of us a
[12:00]f you know between right and wrong when you know something's right
[12:03]you know it's right peer pressure a lot of us know you
[12:07]feel it in that situation that it's wrong but yet you just
[12:09]want to go with the crowd because you feel you conform to
[12:13]what they are doing because you view them as the correct source
[12:15]and you just want to fit in are there any um any
[12:24]ideas on how to connect simple things that we can do dayto
[12:28]day to connect um cuz obviously you know we've talked about disconnecting
[12:34]but how do you easily connect like effort free just add things
[12:39]into your daily life to help you connect start with your Sol
[12:44]you hold past yourself that that keeps you connected every day five
[12:50]times a day right and if you're doing that that'll keep you
[12:55]away from some of the undesirable actions M reading more getting educ
[13:04]no I don't need but yeah that's um when I ever need
[13:10]back up or I need to be reinform of something I just
[13:16]pick up a book read uh helps me see the light helps
[13:22]me think better clear my clear my mind just reading is a
[13:26]it's a good form of staying focused how do you choose what
[13:30]it's depending on how you're feeling okay you know and you got
[13:35]to know what you you got to pick the pick the right
[13:36]author too do you have any recommendations people always ask what should
[13:41]I read I always ask what should I read I never have
[13:44]time to read but I need to make time um I read
[13:47]The Alchemist it's a good book any other book suggestions any other
[13:52]book suggestions there was a book by shean it's um it's about
[13:58]the prophets God God's in read it's a very good read def
[14:05]really like that there's also self Building self building is a very
[14:10]nice book I just wanted to comment as far as connecting with
[14:12]people um generally in a society the relationships you have they have
[14:17]a certain base of why you're connecting with other people I feel
[14:22]if you work on helping out others it's a great means to
[14:24]connect with people in society it's a great way to open up
[14:27]relationships um to see what people are going through just having that
[14:33]open heart towards helping out others whether it's donating helping someone pick
[14:37]up something uh in Psychology there's something called the bystandard effect and
[14:41]what it is is if someone fell on the floor and there's
[14:44]a group of people around you you would depend on the people
[14:47]around you to help and everyone's depending on everyone else to help
[14:52]no one ends up helping um so breaking out of that train
[14:55]of thought and taking initiative going out there and helping out people
[14:59]and I think that would create a good basis for you to
[15:03]connect uh with people in society let's give a loud salawat for
[15:07]say Hassan because we need to take over the mic recum s
[15:19]so for a quick recap so that he knows what we were
[15:23]talking about so he knows where to take it um so say
[15:26]we've been talking about disconnecting in order to reconnect um as the
[15:30]theme was tonight and first we talked a little bit about is
[15:33]it necessary to disconnect and how do you still stay connected with
[15:39]the world but also pull yourself away so that you can connect
[15:42]with Allah at the same time um we talked about some ideas
[15:46]on how to connect um prayer was brought up reading was brought
[15:50]up uh helping others was brought up being careful with what friends
[15:54]you're surrounding yourself with do you know what was yours from the
[16:00]oh pulling yourself away from the love of this world disconnecting from
[16:03]social media so we've talked about some of those things um and
[16:06]we were hoping that you could share some advice on how to
[16:09]again reconnect with Allah subhana wa tala and disconnect from the negative
[16:16]so please uh join us by Muhammad Muhammad thank you all for
[16:22]contributing after do you want to wait till after yeah it's almost
[16:28]time yeah let's do that okay whatever you want alayum my dear
[16:54]sisters and brothers usually I'm on time but uh today as I
[17:03]was actually heading to come to the event here to be with
[17:11]you uh a friend of mine handed me a flyer a na
[17:15]as they say it so uh the Nawa the eulogy paper was
[17:22]about the death of the young man who passed away 2 days
[17:26]ago uh and it happened that I know his family I did
[17:32]not know that his grandfather is my my friend we're very close
[17:39]so when I was handed the flyer I thought it would be
[17:45]very appropriate for me to go and offer condolences to the family
[17:49]so I did that's why I'm late so as we are talking
[17:57]about the subject connecting with God I think it is very relevant
[18:01]to talk about this particular incident a young man who who just
[18:12]turned 21 or I guess turning 21 soon he hung himself on
[18:18]Wednesday night and he died due to a suicide I was talking
[18:27]to his family it was such a saddening moment to hear the
[18:35]details of his death that he 10 minutes before his death he
[18:38]called a family member and he asked for forgiveness and when his
[18:46]family member asked him why are you asking for forgiveness he says
[18:51]because I'm leaving so she thought he's a traveling but basically what
[18:57]he meant by his leaving he meant he will be dying soon
[19:02]now I remember the guy I vividly remember him now after seeing
[19:10]his picture I remember him I remember seeing him during last Ramadan
[19:14]and Ashura at the Islamic Center he used to attend almost every
[19:17]single night and I also remember that after the lecture he would
[19:21]participate in the had some uh uh handicap issue uh he was
[19:34]deaf he wasn't able ultimately to speak as well hardly but he
[19:42]he was a good person with good heart uh suffered from depression
[19:54]and you know especially in our community communities in the Middle Eastern
[20:01]communities we hardly give attention to handicap people and their needs and
[20:12]unfortunately some of us would act as if as if they are
[20:20]not full human beings we forgive the fact that they are also
[20:24]human beings they have emotional needs they have they want to be
[20:33]loved was suffering from lack of love not that his family did
[20:39]not love him but to him he wanted some expression of love
[20:44]from his family members and Friends ultimately this feeling led him to
[20:57]plunge in depression and depression is a very vicious very F vicious
[21:02]sickness if you don't fight it the right way it can be
[21:11]devastating today I spoke about in the about many people coming to
[21:18][Music] me wanting me to help them figure out how they how
[21:26]I can help them and after listening to them I find out
[21:31]that this these people are suffering from some disorder mental disorder depression
[21:38]or something similar to that even though I'm not a psychiatrist but
[21:45]I can tell and when I tell people to go to the
[21:52]to the doctor some of them are reserved they don't like to
[22:00]hear that they would rather go to dicks Avenue and find some
[22:04]of those people who consider themselves healers but indeed many of them
[22:10]are I'm not saying all of them but many of them are
[22:13]nothing but Crooks people who would charge them Hefty amount of money
[22:18]and would convince these people the victims that they have been occupied
[22:28]by the demons and they have to get the demons out of
[22:31]them and that would cost $400 I don't know why $400 so
[22:40]they pay the $400 and they go through sometime painful procedure with
[22:50]those cookes thinking that they will help them to get out of
[22:55]their dilemma not knowing that these people can make their dilemma even
[23:01]worse I was told that someone so with his own eyes one
[23:09]of his relatives who was seeking those healers in dicks Avenue the
[23:14]Healer was beating her with his own boolt claiming that he's trying
[23:20]to get the demon out of her beating her so badly that
[23:27]she was bleeding and the guy was calling and the demon to
[23:31]come out and for some reason the demon didn't didn't want to
[23:34]come out and the man kept beating her we need to be
[23:41]very uh objective and we need to be aware of these issues
[23:49]today unfortunately this issue the depression even though that was not my
[23:56]main discussion I but I believe that's somehow connected to being connected
[24:03]to Allah some people think that in order for me to be
[24:06]religious being having depression means I have weak faith in Allah is
[24:14]that true no no having depression doesn't mean that you have we
[24:20]weak faith in Allah at all depression is just like any other
[24:27]you know disord that needs treatment just like when you have a
[24:34]problem with your heart God forbid you go to cardiologist when you
[24:40]have a problem with depression you go to a psychiatrist it is
[24:47]chemical imbalance that needs treatment and we should not be ashamed of
[24:54]seeking treatment being connected to Allah I know I know that being
[25:01]connected to Allah through Dua is is excellent it works but also
[25:08]when medical treatment is needed I should not shy away I should
[25:17]not Fe I should not feel ashamed of myself for seeking medical
[25:23][Music] treatment my dear brothers and sisters there is something about this
[25:30]society when people advance in technology they thought that their life will
[25:42]be much happier by the invention of you know Cars airplanes computers
[25:52]iPhones things that people never had access to 100 years ago people
[26:00]thought that their life will be happier but that was not true
[26:08]at all none of these things will make us happier in life
[26:13]maybe it makes our life easier but not happier and there is
[26:20]a huge difference between having an easy life or a happy life
[26:26]you know I always when go to the Middle East especially to
[26:32]Iraq for example when where you barely have maybe 6 hours of
[26:39]electricity a day I see people are physically suffering but they don't
[26:45]have many of the mental problems that we have in this country
[26:49]they don't have a drug issue they don't have a problem with
[26:58]you know having a decayed deteriorated family relations if you read the
[27:12]news almost every single day almost every single day a young man
[27:18]kills his own parent his own father or his own mother in
[27:28]this country killing his wife killing children we're talking the media is
[27:32]talking these days about this guy Jared his name is Jared a
[27:38]man who was supposed to be a role model for many Americans
[27:43]a man who succeeded in in losing weight but he failed in
[27:51]being a good human being we spent billions of dollars American people
[27:57]spent billions of dollars over $40 billion a year American people pay
[28:07]for losing weight they go to the gym they go to the
[28:11]fitness club spend countless hours of exercising just to Lo lose some
[28:21]weight but do we do the same thing in do do we
[28:31]spend same amount of time in purifying our souls IM Al Talib
[28:40]has a beautiful expression he says people do sport do exercise to
[28:49]lose their weight to lose weight I also he says I also
[28:57]do RI I do sport as well I exercise but a different
[29:00]type of exercise he says I do exercise as well but not
[29:14]the physical exercise exercise that you guys do I do spiritual exercise
[29:21]I spend so much of my time in spiritual exercise in being
[29:30]Pious and reaching a higher level of [Music] piety what do we
[29:40]lack in this country truly what do we lack do we lack
[29:47]money no we are the most richest nation on Earth the most
[29:53]powerful Nation on Earth the most educated Nation on Earth then why
[30:02]we have the largest number of inmates in the United States why
[30:07]we have the largest number the highest number of robbery theft and
[30:13]rape in the world because of the lack of morality a doctor
[30:23]I don't know if you heard about him or not I'm sure
[30:27]most of you heard about him a month ago he was indicted
[30:34]in this country he made over40 million $40 million by tricking his
[30:43]patient deceiving them into chemotherapy treatment by telling them they have cancer
[30:51]while they never had cancer he made his patients go through painful
[31:02]medical treatment based on the idea that they have developed cancer and
[31:09]they never had cancer why did he do that so he can
[31:11]charge their in insurance company so he can make more money hundreds
[31:22]of patients were suffering we're suffering physically and emotionally you know when
[31:29]some when you are told by your doctor you have cancer some
[31:32]people can't take it it's a have it can have a heavy
[31:39]toll in our mind and our personality so these people had to
[31:42]suffer emotionally and physically going through unnecessary painful procedure why what did
[31:54]this man lack education no what did he lack he lacked Faith
[32:02]he lacked Faith the Arab poet puts it in in the very
[32:07]beautiful term he says he says if knowledge without piety can have
[32:27]any Merit then El the Shan would be the most honorable person
[32:34]because he is such a knowledgeable person Shan has knowledge but has
[32:43]no piety no faith he very knowledgeable but has no faith if
[32:50]knowledge without morality has any M then the Shan would be number
[32:58]one number one model but education with no p with no faith
[33:08]means nothing it could mean disaster just as we see in this
[33:14]case the case of this doctor who use his knowledge his medical
[33:20]expertise not in helping people rather than hurting people why because this
[33:28]man lacked morality and lacked Faith a rebellious man would always argue
[33:38]with his father his father tells him I don't see you com
[33:45]becoming a good man I don't see you're going to be as
[33:50]we say in the Middle East adamy good human being the son
[33:54]would be rebellious would disrespect his father and he says no I
[33:57]would be a great person the father tells him through what I
[34:03]see in you the way you treat your parent you're not going
[34:07]to be a good person even if you become educated he says
[34:10]I am becoming educated and I will show you what a great
[34:17]man I will be he left the village he went to the
[34:20]city he graduated from college he got his degree he joined the
[34:25]government 15 20 years later he became the Prime Minister he's walking
[34:32]the street one day with his interage when he see an elderly
[34:36]man he recognized he recognizes that elderly man to be his father
[34:44]so he asked his guard his body guard to go and bring
[34:46]that elderly man he says you see that elderly man he say
[34:52]yes go get him for me his father was walking in the
[34:57]street he came from the village to sh from the city and
[35:00]go back all of a sudden he sees five bodyguards surrounding him
[35:06]and physically forcing him to go with him with them what's wrong
[35:12]what did I do he said well we don't know the Prime
[35:15]Minister wants you he said the Prime Minister wants me what does
[35:20]he want from me we don't know he just saw you and
[35:25]he said bring that elderly man he says but I have nothing
[35:30]to do with the prime minister they said well that is his
[35:32]order we have to take you to the prime minister they bring
[35:37]him to the Prime Minister he does not recognize the Prime Minister
[35:41]as his son but his son recognized him recognized the father he
[35:48]says to the father do you recognize me he says no who
[35:55]who are you he says I'm your son remember we all always
[35:58]used to fight and argue I'm your son he say yeah I
[36:03]I remember you now I remember you now he says look at
[36:06]me look at me you always challenged me you told me you're
[36:14]not going to be nothing look look I became the prime minister
[36:17]of this country you always told me you're not going to be
[36:23]anything the father looked at him and he says son I said
[36:30]you're not going to be a true human being I didn't say
[36:35]you're not going to become a prime minister and you still have
[36:39]not become a good human being to be a human being true
[36:48]human being good servant of Allah a good human being doesn't mean
[36:51]if you become a prime minister doesn't mean that you are a
[36:54]true human being so I believe that one thing we need to
[37:06]always keep in mind my dear brothers and sisters is how we
[37:12]go about that relationship with Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala how we keep
[37:17]the distance with him is he far away from me how hard
[37:27]I need to work to get to him and to keep in
[37:31]my side is it so so difficult to keep Allah in my
[37:36]side no no indeed it's not difficult at all he's not too
[37:41]far at all if you read Dua Abu Hamza which is a
[37:48]very rich Dua rich rich with many Concept beautiful concept please read
[37:53]that Dua if you read it in Arabi if you don't read
[37:58]in English in one line says those who travel to you who
[38:10]those who travel to you they don't have to Traverse long distance
[38:23]the one traveling to you should Traverse a very short distance you
[38:38]will not be away from me what makes you away from me
[38:42]my own deed my own sins when we become so attached to
[38:50]this Dunya everything in my life revolves around this Dunya my food
[38:55]my car my business my house house my my my everything becomes
[39:04]my everything becomes me and I become the center of the world
[39:11]that is the danger that is the danger when I see the
[39:19]world through my own lenses when I see the world as nothing
[39:27]but a to for my own well-being only that is the problem
[39:34]when I see nothing in this dun other than Indulgence wanting more
[39:42]and more and more IM says those who seek D they are
[39:52]like a person drinking from the ocean a third a thirsty person
[40:00]drinking from the ocean will never quench his thirst indeed the ocean
[40:07]water will make you even more thirsty the more you drink from
[40:27]the ocean the more thirsty you will be this is the nature
[40:31]of this Dunya the more we want the more we get blinded
[40:35]the more we become indulged the more we become entangled to be
[40:44]a good Muslim does not mean that you live very simple life
[40:54]no you can enjoy life Indulgence indul Indulgence what makes you a
[41:03]good person or not Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala wanted you to enjoy
[41:09]your life but he says don't indulge don't indulge the minute you
[41:16]indulge you know people love swimming they love swimming but at the
[41:23]same time if you don't know how to swim you may drown
[41:29]you need to be careful when you swim not to drown so
[41:35]you can enjoy your swim we done is that why you came
[41:41]and sat here very smart Okay so I know it's time for
[41:50]Salah and most importantly it's time for pizza also because I see
[41:54]that the pizza arrived and some people are becoming extreme L impatient
[41:59]so I'm going to conclude in 2 minutes again there is a
[42:06]line in Du very beautiful he says get the love the passion
[42:22]the attachment the attachment of this dun get out of my heart
[42:26]the the Imam is not saying make me not enjoy my life
[42:33]all he is saying he says take that attachment from my heart
[42:40]you can enjoy life but without being so attached to it without
[42:45]being indulged so you can enjoy it if someone does not know
[42:54]how to swim and want to swim so badly he may drown
[42:58]especially if you go deep if you try to dive you don't
[43:04]know how you may drown but if you know how to swim
[43:12]even if you go deep you will not drown so connecting with
[43:18]Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala doesn't mean that you disconnect completely physically with
[43:24]this Dy there are two types of Detachment physical and emotional we're
[43:31]not supposed to physically be detached we live in this dun it's
[43:38]okay to enjoy it to have it but we're supposed to emotionally
[43:45]disconnect says to be Pious he says real piety is not that
[43:59]you do not possess objects and things real piety is you are
[44:07]not obsessed and possessed with things you can possess the world but
[44:12]don't let the world possesses you I think it's time for Salah
[44:44]right are we ready for Salah who's going to make the announcement
[44:51]okay thank you say n thank you all for joining us thank
[44:55]you for joining in the discussion and we can do similar discussions
[44:58]more I think we all have a lot to reflect on in
[45:02]terms of what we're connected to too much and what we can
[45:04]alter a final reminder if anyone wants to do a final sign
