[0:29]in the last session we talked about the mother of imam al-mahdi

[0:34]and the birth the sacred birth of imam al-mahdi al-muntadhar sharif who

[0:41]was born on the 15th of shaban in the year 255 after

[0:51]hijrah of course kulaini and his al-kafi he mentions one hadith that

[0:57]imam was born in year 256 after hijrah however this from the

[1:01]those who have analyzed this and studied this they say this is

[1:05]a mistake because we have it was widely known and widely accepted

[1:09]that the imam was born in year 255 after hijallah and this

[1:14]happens in the transmission of hadith sometimes a hadith there's a slight

[1:20]change in the hadith for example kulaini in his al-kafi he mentions

[1:25]that the prophet was born on the 12th of while the majority

[1:28]shiri opinion is that he was born on the 17th of rabbi

[1:32]kudaini sided with the sunni opinion that he was born on the

[1:38]12th so this happens sometimes and of course these books of hadith

[1:40]it's not written by that means this gives us you know the

[1:45]the responsibility to go and do research we have to go and

[1:50]study we have to compare we have to see what are the

[1:53]different events that took place during the time and all of the

[1:55]matters that occurred and then we try to figure out you know

[2:00]what the what the truth is so imam and mahdi according to

[2:08]the shias he was born sunnis they say he was not born

[2:13]yet why do they say that because his birth was a secret

[2:20]because imam al-imam al-hassan as we will as we will come to

[2:22]find out insha'allah imam al-hassan he didn't show imam al-mahdi to everyone

[2:28]he only showed him to the very close of the shia the

[2:35]very close followers they were the ones who saw the imam and

[2:38]mahdi so why is there a discrepancy why is there some that

[2:42]say he wasn't born yet because the official knowledge during the time

[2:46]by the government by those who were in power is that hasn't

[2:49]asked he died without having a son so that's why they don't

[2:56]some that was one of the reasons yes sister like when when

[3:01]he was like when we know that the imam who buried so

[3:06]it became known later on it became known later on that especially

[3:11]with the shias that no this is his son and he does

[3:16]have a son people started hearing more about him but for some

[3:21]people they didn't know that the imam was born because his birth

[3:25]was hidden his birth was a private birth just like the birth

[3:59]talk about especially this was one of his main objectives and duties

[4:03]and the imams of the athlete this is something very interesting the

[4:08]imams of the adhd bait they were telling people about al-mahdi and

[4:13]at the same time you have scholars like bukhari and muslim and

[4:22]tirmidhi and abu dhabi and ibn majjal kazuni who were living at

[4:58]know the hadith of rasulallah that is narrated by bukhari at the

[5:01]end of time the earth will be ruled by al-mahdi he is

[5:05]the 12th of my children his name is my name and and

[5:10]even some hadith that say he's from the children of imam hussain

[5:14]the ninth of them muslim and they they call it muslim he

[5:18]died year 260 the same year as the death of imam al-hasan

[5:29]died year 273.

[5:34]died year 275 and a tiramiti died year 279 so they're all

[5:43]during the reba except except al-bukhari who who died before during the

[6:48]deserved the power so they were afraid of imam al-mahdi and that's

[6:54]why you have imam al-hadi he's brought all the way to salman

[6:56]that's why you have imam al-hasan he's under house arrest and samara

[7:00]and as we mentioned when we were talking about imam alaska every

[7:05]week they come and they summon imam al-askari every week he has

[7:07]to go and see the khalifa and the wazir because they want

[7:11]to know what's going on in the house of imam al-hasan so

[7:15]imam al-mahdi he was born year 255 in the on the 15th

[7:22]of shabban one month into one of the khulaf by the name

[7:26]of one one month into the rule of al-mutadi imam al-mahdi was

[7:36]born because he came in in rajab and imam mahdi was born

[7:41]in sha'ban al-mohtadi ruled for one year and then as we mentioned

[7:46]when we were talking about imam al-jawad and imam al-hadi that the

[7:51]turks there were turks they were related to al-abbasis because one of

[7:55]the khalafa his mother al-martasan his mother was a turkish lady so

[8:01]he came and he was he brought all these turks and they

[8:04]started controlling the khalifa they were like a gang so they started

[8:09]controlling him so what these did these turkish officers military officers they

[8:15]came and they removed from power and they placed al-marta al-abbasi now

[8:21]al-martim al-abbasi who ruled for a very long time he ruled for

[8:26]23 years into the death so one year into the life of

[8:31]imam al-mahdi he began to rule and for 23 years so 23

[8:38]subtract 5 you have 19 years into the into the life of

[8:42]imam al-mahdi right is it 19 18 years into the life of

[8:49]imam al-mahdi so the first 18 years of the life of he's

[8:53]the one who's ruling and into the imam and not into the

[8:58]life into the imam of imam almighty so he was the ruler

[9:04]now the imam during during that time after imam al-imam mahdi was

[9:13]born imam al-hassan he ordered some of his closest companions uthman ibn

[9:18]saeed who became the first deputy of imam al-mahdi the first of

[9:21]the nawab of imam al-mahdi he was he was also the killer

[9:25]of imam al-hasan askari and another man by the name of abu

[9:30]aamr to slaughter sheep and distribute meat when when a baby is

[9:34]born what do we have we do so it says and keep

[9:47]in mind they don't call him by his name they give him

[9:55]these names when the sayyid was born i want you to buy

[10:23]ten thousand pounds of bread rata is a pound ten thousand pounds

[11:28]al-asgari jaffar who was known as jaffar al-qaeda from the hadith he

[11:32]was shocked by the birth of imam almighty so even the uncle

[11:37]of imam and mahdi he didn't know or he was act like

[11:42]he didn't know that's something that some scholars they say maybe he

[11:45]knew and he was acting like he didn't know but most likely

[11:51]imam al-hassan he only brought the hawas the very close companions and

[11:55]we will we will see several hadith that a man he is

[12:01]a khadim he's a servant in the house of imam laskari he

[12:05]says i never knew about he's always coming in and out in

[12:09]the house but he says suddenly i saw a young child at

[12:11]age three so meaning that he didn't know he didn't know of

[12:16]a of a child until three years into the into the life

[12:21]of imam al-mahdi so the news spread and now imam almighty is

[12:26]born but imam al-hasan asked he has two main duties one is

[12:31]he has a religious obligation to tell people he has to let

[12:38]people know that the imam after me is my son he has

[12:41]to the hajja has to be delivered so this is from from

[12:46]one aspect he has to tell his companions and prove to them

[12:49]that he is a son so that people won't be lost after

[12:52]the after the death of imam laskari and second his also a

[13:00]very important duty he has to protect the life of imam almighty

[13:03]and as we mentioned at that time there are there's a lot

[13:09]of talk in the sunni circles in the circles that al-mahdi he

[13:13]is the 12th and he is the successor of the prophet and

[13:17]his name is the same name as rasulullah and he is the

[13:21]ninth from the children of imam al-hussein alaihissalam so all of the

[13:24]eyes are on the house of imam al-hasan so what did the

[13:30]imam do some of the tactics of imam al-hasan to protect the

[13:32]life of imam al-mahdi was what one is imam al-askari has deputies

[13:37]he has nawab he has and this is something that we see

[13:45]became very apparent from the life of imam al-hasan now people instead

[13:49]of coming and giving the khms immediately to the imam they go

[13:51]and they give it to the na above the imam so this

[13:54]was happening from the time of imam al-jawad from the time of

[13:59]imam al-hadi imam al-askari and then imam al-mahdi became something that was

[14:13]have the freedom to interact with people especially imam alhadi and askari

[14:17]they're in small town and it's a military town and the khalifa

[14:22]is there so the people the shias don't have the freedom to

[14:30]and here we will come to notice that imam al-mahdi one of

[14:33]the first things he did after the death of his father is

[14:37]that he placed his wakeel in baghdad the nawab of imam and

[14:40]mahdi they're buried in baghdad he appoints him he tells him bigger

[14:45]city the shias could come and go the authorities are not there

[14:51]the khalifa is not there to watch who's who came and went

[14:52]so the the night of the imam the deputy uthman said after

[14:56]the death of the imam the death of imam al-assad he goes

[15:00]to baghdad and we will come to talk about that later inshallah

[15:03]so the imam has nuab another is that the imam does not

[15:07]have a big social circle as we mentioned when we were talking

[15:11]about imam he tells his companions if you see me in the

[15:13]street don't say salaam to me don't point at me because the

[15:17]imam he doesn't want all the eyes and the attention on him

[15:21]and also what helped cover up the birth of imam al-mahdi from

[15:25]the authorities other than the fact that his mother she you know

[15:29]his birth was something that was a secret there was an internal

[15:34]conflict that was taking place within the abbasi government he was removed

[15:38]one year into the birth of imam and mahdi this caused conflict

[15:41]within the abbasi government imagine you know a family a royal family

[15:45]that one he comes and he removes the other it's going to

[15:48]cause conflict so that's going to take their attention away from imam

[15:52]al-mahdi and the eyes being on imam al-mahdi and another is there

[16:01]was a rebellion a very big rebellion that took place in iraq

[16:05]and basra around the same year of the birth of imam al-mahdi

[16:08]and this is something that historians talk about it's called alzheimer's rebellion

[16:13]zenj it means the black this is why they call the black

[16:18]people as zenji sometimes so this is called the black rebellion because

[16:25]there were slaves that were brought from east africa black slaves the

[16:30]the government they would come and they would they would bring them

[16:33]they would enslave them or i don't know how they would they

[16:36]would they would bring them and they there was marshlands in iraq

[16:41]even right now there's in south of iraq there's an area it's

[16:46]called it's marshlands marsh lands there's water so the marshlands it needed

[16:52]it it needed workers and farmers to be working so that the

[16:56]land will be fertile and it would be able to produce crops

[16:59]so what they did was they brought these people from africa and

[17:03]they brought them and this is some of the injustice that was

[17:07]taking place you know we think that it's only only took place

[17:10]here in the plantations in the south no this was taking place

[17:12]during the time of the during the time of the abbasis they

[17:16]they brought them and then there was a rebellion because of the

[17:22]harsh work conditions that these they were placed in there was a

[17:25]rebellion not only of the slaves but some of the free men

[17:31]they also re rebelled against the government so they say that this

[17:36]was one of the bloodiest rebellions that the abbasi regime faced at

[17:43]that time it's called al-zand rebellion alzheimer's rebellion this took place during

[17:48]the birth the year of the birth of imam al-mahdi so because

[17:53]this took place that kind of distracted the government they were watching

[17:59]the house of imam but several things happened he had his own

[18:04]tactics and then they had their own internal conflict they had a

[18:06]rebellion several things happened that they missed the birth of the imam

[18:12]for the first five years of the imam so no one knows

[18:16]about the birth of the imam here imam al-hasan he would bring

[18:20]and of course there was a jazz there was a miraculous aspect

[18:25]to it but the imam he brings his companions the close ones

[18:27]and he tells them look at this this is my son this

[18:31]is your imam after me this is your khalifa this is the

[18:34]one who's after me so he says one of the great shias

[18:44]a great scholar at the time a letter from the imam he

[18:49]goes to ahmedabad so he knew the signature of the imam because

[19:01]the imam would correspond with him and he see he knows the

[19:05]handwriting of imam al-askarian the signature of the imam he tells them

[19:08]in the letter willie he says the molute the son my son

[19:16]has been born but keep this a private matter and keep the

[19:23]something private don't talk about it to anyone and he says we

[19:34]don't reveal this matter except to the close ones for how close

[19:37]they are to us and the mawla the muali the one who

[19:57]with this good news was so this is why we celebrate the

[20:02]shias we celebrate the birth of imam almighty if compared to the

[20:06]births of all of the imams the birth of imam al-medhi is

[20:08]one of the those days that we we go a little bit

[20:13]more and we have to go a little bit more in celebrating

[20:14]because it's the day that the imams the imam was very happy

[20:19]and it's a it's a disputed thing so in order to prove

[20:23]our faith our william with the imam we celebrate it yes sister

[21:17]any single time there's an imam imam al-hasan is trying to tell

[21:22]him that there's an imam at all times and this is a

[21:23]good argument for us today as well he tells so he says

[21:27]yes of course i know that because god is just because allah

[21:30]is then at any single time there has to be a representative

[21:35]of allah and this is something that is agreed upon by and

[21:38]sunni scholars they all accept this so he said then i ask

[21:43]the imam who is the imam after you so he said this

[21:47]young child of mine he is the imam after me and he

[21:53]went into a room and then he came back carrying a child

[21:56]a three-year-old child on his shoulder and he says i saw him

[22:02]i saw his face like the moon his face was very beautiful

[22:07]like the moon he was carried on the shoulder of his father

[22:10]imam al-hasan and then he says he is your imam and he

[22:14]is the one who will establish justice on earth after it has

[22:19]been filled with oppression so ahmad ibn now he just saw and

[22:23]he knows but he tells him can i see a sign can

[22:27]i see something to prove that he is the imam so he

[22:31]says as soon as i asked that the young child he began

[22:34]to speak the young child began to speak he says i will

[22:55]be the one who seeks vengeance from the enemies of god don't

[23:00]go and try to seek another another proof after you have seen

[23:08]me o ahmed ibn he says i left but i was very

[23:14]happy i was so happy that i got to see the savior

[23:16]of mankind the savior of humanity so he says i came back

[23:22]the next day and i tell the imam thank you very much

[23:26]for honoring me and allowing me to see your son who is

[23:30]the one who rasul allah spoke about to amir al-mu'min who imam

[23:33]sadiq all the imams they spoke about so the imam later on

[23:39]he tells him he's going to be in a reba he's going

[23:42]to be in an occultation and people will be will have to

[23:47]wait and they will be tested so he says i tell him

[23:53]he says i tell him how long is this going to be

[23:57]how long is this laba going to be is it going to

[24:01]be a very long one he says he says yes it's going

[24:10]to be so long that so many people who believe in imam

[24:14]al-mahdi and they say about imam al-mahdi they're going to go back

[24:20]some people they lose faith some people in times of difficulty there's

[24:24]all this happens to some of the shia they say yes imam

[24:28]and mahdi then at one point they sin they think where is

[24:30]the justice where is where is when is he coming most of

[24:47]the people they're going to leave except who the one who allah

[24:53]subhanahu wa ta'ala someone who has a covenant with allah and the

[25:03]william this is why we ask allah to keep us under sa

[25:09]covenant with allah those who killed imam and hussain some of them

[25:13]they knew whom they knew most of them they knew him was

[25:15]they knew they fought him so some people they change we have

[25:20]to ask allah at the bat we have to ask the iman

[25:27]is written in this person's heart someone who is supported by the

[25:34]by the rule that the angel allah sends to support and then

[25:39]he says b this is one of the matters of god and

[26:06]sir allah this is a secret from god's secrets and this is

[26:13]one of the rabb the unseen from the unseens of god take

[26:17]what i have told you and keep it concealed keep it secret

[26:22]wakun so here we see that this close companion he who felt

[26:34]lucky that he got to see the imam meaning that not a

[26:36]lot of the shias another very important method that the imam alaihissalam

[26:41]used to protect the life of the imam let me answer this

[26:49]question say it when imam and mahdi spoke as a child did

[26:53]his voice sound like a man or like a child most probably

[26:55]sounded like a child it's natural to sound like a child so

[26:59]this is um i believe that that's that's how it probably sounded

[27:06]like but of course we mentioned last we mentioned last time that

[27:10]the imam and one hadith he he grows in a day or

[27:15]in a month what the what the people grow in a year

[27:19]so the imam and one hadith we understand that he would grow

[27:24]faster than others so another very important method something that the the

[27:30]imam and the imams of the albeit they say and we find

[27:32]this in the hadith and some even act upon it today because

[27:36]they think it still applies and it may i don't think it

[27:41]applies now some scholars they say this was only during the life

[27:44]of the imam that it's haram to say the name of imam

[27:47]and mahdi have you seen this hadith we have hadith that it

[27:51]says it's haram to say the name that's why the majority when

[27:53]we talk about him we don't say his first name his first

[27:56]name is the name of rasulullah we don't say that so um

[28:02]he is known even by the imams he is known as this

[28:11]way we call him samantha he tells him al so these are

[28:18]some of the ways that the imams would describe them they wouldn't

[28:21]mention his name because they didn't want his name to be circulated

[28:24]in the letters and here and there the authorities if they get

[28:27]a hold of the letter then they will definitely know that he

[28:31]has been born but when they say this is going to you

[28:34]know the khalifa if they get a hold of this letter they're

[28:37]not going to find out and we have this a lot during

[28:40]the times of heavy taqiyya that the imams and the followers of

[28:45]the imams they had to practice you find some of the names

[28:49]of the imams they're they're not mentioned for example during the time

[28:52]of imam al-kaavam if you read al-qafi one of the names of

[28:55]imam musal kadam is al-halem or same with the name of the

[29:12]imam we know him the the the followers they would know him

[29:17]through his title yes brother i've heard one i don't remember where

[29:23]but they said that one wisdom behind this is that now the

[29:27]most common name in the world is muhammad so now even if

[29:32]the imam he's just regularly asked well what's your name and he

[29:36]says what his name is his name everyone would really have a

[29:38]second thought and so he can blend in yes at that time

[29:41]it wasn't as a common name as it was as it is

[29:45]now so that's why scholars say right now if you say his

[29:49]name it's not it's not going to be it's not that those

[29:51]hadith do not apply but it was haram it was haram for

[29:56]those companions to mention his name don't mention his name so here

[30:02]this is why as a result of all of these precautionary methods

[30:08]that the imams they took and especially imam al-askari a lot of

[30:13]people didn't know of the birth of the imam this is why

[30:15]in a hadith now this might be a fabricated hadith saeed he's

[30:21]the one who who was the first nab of the imam he

[30:25]says the imam died without a son so maybe he maybe this

[30:29]was or the imam doesn't have a son so maybe this was

[30:33]either a fabricated hadith or it's a weak hadith but this is

[30:35]a hadith that exists so this is why the reason some today

[30:40]they say that you know imam al-askari doesn't have a son because

[30:45]officially what was officially accepted at the time is that he didn't

[30:48]have a son imagine i have a son and no one knows

[30:50]about him the authorities he doesn't have a social security number he

[30:54]doesn't have anything there's no nothing is documented so if people doubt

[30:58]that i have a son i mean you don't blame them sometimes

[31:01]because they they didn't they didn't see so a lot of people

[31:07]they didn't see at that time later on the shias they came

[31:09]to believe in the imam because of the several proofs and the

[31:12]scholars that they saw but in order to preserve the life of

[31:14]the imam during those five years in the house of imam alaskari

[31:21]they only a few people knew we have some hadith of some

[31:23]companions they come and they see the imam for example on the

[31:27]third day after the birth of imam al-mahdi imam al-askari brought him

[31:31]to some of his companions this man he's ahadim and the servant

[31:40]in the house of the imam his name is he says i

[31:47]entered on sahib zaman while he was in the cradle he spoke

[31:53]he speaks to the man three days after his birth he tells

[31:57]him bring me a sundel is a piece of wood they used

[32:02]to use it and maybe it could be used as a spice

[32:07]or something i looked it up i didn't know what it was

[32:09]but it's a piece of wood or something so he says so

[32:18]i brought it to him and he says do you know me

[32:21]so imagine a three-year-old speaking to this man do you know me

[32:32]you are my master and the son of my master this is

[32:37]not what i meant when i was asking you [Applause] and through

[33:11]me allah will remove the the calamity from my family and my

[33:16]shias my followers we ask allah to hasten his reappearance they say

[33:25]that the last time 40 days before the death of imam al-askari

[33:28]so imam and mahdi is five years old now forty days before

[33:32]the death of imam al-askari imam al-imam al-hassan he invited 40 of

[33:39]his companions into his house 40 men he brought them he gathered

[33:44]them in the house muhammad bin uthman was there meaning the son

[33:49]of uthman ibn said muhammad he these are some of the names

[33:58]of the big shias at that time he brings out imam al-mahdi

[34:03]and he says obey him and do not be divided after me

[34:19]you will lose your religion i got disconnected from the zoom he

[34:39]going to see him meaning the imam he tells them you're not

[34:43]going to see imam al-hasan anymore i don't know i just disconnected
