[3:15]before we begin if we could please recite a in honor of

[3:20]a few people first and foremost may allah have blessed the song

[3:26]who for many years served this center and served the community may

[3:34]god bless his soul as well as bless the soul of who

[3:39]passed away today as well as al hajj if we could all

[3:45]please recite in their honor and in honor of all of you

[6:02]all people we've been granted virtue in six and given excellence in

[6:11]seven we've been granted virtue in knowledge eloquence courage forbearance and the

[6:22]believers affection for us in the hearts and we've been given excellence

[6:29]in seven and that from us is the chosen master and the

[6:36]truthful one and the one who flies with wings and the lion

[6:42]of god and the lion of his prophet and the mistress of

[6:47]all the woman and the masters of the youths of this ummah

[6:53]those of you who know me know me those of you who

[6:58]don't let me tell you my origin and my descent i am

[7:05]the son of mecca and mina i am the son of zamzam

[7:10]and safa i am the son of the best of men to

[7:14]perform the rights of the sanctuary i am the son of the

[7:19]man who was led by barak through the air i am the

[7:24]son of the man who led the angels in prayer i am

[7:29]the son of the man who was taken from masjid al haram

[7:33]to masjid al aqsa i am the son of the man who

[7:37]was taken by jibrael to sidrat al muntaha i am the son

[7:44]of the man known as muhammadan al mustafa i am the son

[7:53]of ali al murat allah the man who fought the disbelievers until

[7:58]they said i am the son of the man who went on

[8:05]two migrations and pledged two allegiances and fought with two swords and

[8:11]with two spears i am the son of the man who was

[8:17]the believers pious one annihilator of the polytheists descendant of the prophets

[8:25]commander of the faithful glorious of the worshippers honorable of the criers

[8:32]luminary of the fighters i am the son of the man who

[8:36]fought at bader and hunain and did not disbelief for even the

[8:41]twinkling of an eye i am the son of the man who

[8:46]was the best of them in prayers and the most patient i

[8:50]am the son of the man who was assisted by jibrael and

[8:54]mika'il i am the son of the man who was the first

[8:59]to come to the call of allah and his prophet and none

[9:03]had any precedent on him on this i am the son of

[9:08]the man who was the arrow of allah targeting the hypocrites the

[9:14]bearer of his wisdom and the garden of his knowledge i am

[9:19]the son of the man who fought the blasphemous and the aggressors

[9:23]and who uprooted all the ignoble and the deviance i am the

[9:29]son of a man who was chivalrous and brave full of valor

[9:35]most handsome and pure from all impurities i am the son of

[9:40]the man who was the best of them in prayer and the

[9:44]best of them in fasting a man who exterminated the progeny of

[9:50]his enemies and disturbed the disbelieving parties a man who was like

[9:56]a lion that crushed the spears and scattered them as the wind

[10:00]does i am the son of the lion of hijaz and the

[10:04]master of iraq i am the son of the man who was

[10:17]the inheritor of the i am the son of the man who

[10:21]was the father of hassan and hussain that is my grandfather i

[10:30]am the son of the lady who was the purest i am

[10:34]the son of the lady who was the most devout i am

[10:38]the son of khadija tal kubra i am the son of fatima

[10:42]al zahra i am the son of the man whose body lies

[10:47]on the ground of karbala the sermon in question is the sermon

[10:54]of imam zain al abideen alaihis salam which he delivered in the

[10:58]court of yazid and sham this sermon without a doubt is one

[11:03]of the greatest sermons in the history of the religion of islam

[11:07]as we know al muhammad delivered many great sermons and it's a

[11:15]sad fact that many of us in our communities have not read

[11:18]all of the khutab and all the sermons of the ahlul bayt

[11:21]alaihi wa sallam as in from the holy prophet peace be upon

[11:25]him and his family to going to amir al mumineen alaihi wa

[11:29]sallam and indeed going to each of the imams you'll find that

[11:34]each and every one of them left legacy of sermons ask many

[11:38]in our community have you read the whole sermon of the event

[11:43]of gadir many of us may know for example but that sermon

[11:49]of gadir was not a thirty second sermon those lines are lines

[11:55]which i could say in thirty seconds the sermon of gadir for

[11:58]example was a sermon that took hours to complete yet many only

[12:04]read one line of it when i know that my prophet is

[12:09]leaving behind a certain amount of wisdom i want to read all

[12:14]of that wisdom yet on our manabir or our pulpits normally all

[12:18]we hear is one or two lines of the incident of ghadir

[12:22]yet there are many lines which a person can take knowledge from

[12:25]likewise when you come for example to fatima that sermon which she

[12:31]delivered when fadaq was usurped from her there are many of us

[12:35]when we were in our youth who were not even encouraged to

[12:38]read these sermons in our households as in if you look at

[12:42]yourself in the mirror and our parents are all lovers of ahlul

[12:46]bayt and they try to instill ahlul bayt in us i think

[12:49]that in many cases you'll find that even the parents themselves haven't

[12:53]read the whole sermon related to fadaq why not as in what

[12:58]as father of zara simply respected and loved because she's the daughter

[13:04]of the prophet because then we fall in the trap where we

[13:07]end up loving people because of who they're related to not because

[13:11]of their merit i love and admire fatima alaihi salaam because of

[13:17]her merit otherwise there are other daughters one may refer to of

[13:21]prophets of allah and there are others who are close to rasulullah

[13:25]sallallahu alaihi wa'alehi but the merits of a ilm and the and

[13:29]the and the the that comes all together the eloquence the knowledge

[13:35]the wonderful language that is used that is why i want to

[13:39]read these sermons so you have with the sermon of the prophet

[13:43]sermon of for example father the sermons collected in najj al balaqa

[13:49]of imam alaihi alaihi salam how many wonderful khutab do you have

[13:53]in the najj and yet you'll find that many forget memorizing many

[13:57]have not read the sermons in the najj these sermons that were

[14:01]left behind were all pearls of wisdom for us but the difference

[14:06]between those sermons and all of the other sermons in the history

[14:11]of al muhammad is that those sermons are sermons that did not

[14:15]come after twenty days of being prisoners rasulullah has never delivered a

[14:23]khutbah after being chained from karbala to kufa to sham all his

[14:30]lectures that he had given may have been at times which were

[14:34]precarious or times which were dangerous but never could you say that

[14:38]rasulullah delivered a sermon having been chained up from four countries because

[14:45]iraq to where from karbala to kufa and then from there you

[14:50]have lebanon turkey syria al muhammad were taken as usara and were

[14:56]taken as sabaiah in four countries on the map today iraq you

[15:02]have kufa syria halab for example osham lebanon baalabek or baalbek and

[15:10]turkey nusaybin was turkey today the map has changed they went through

[15:15]all of these so when imam zain al abideen delivers the sermon

[15:19]imam zain al abideen is not delivering a sermon in medina where

[15:22]you're around 50 of your best friends delivering a friday khutbah he's

[15:27]delivering a sermon and the beauty of this sermon is that he's

[15:31]delivering it while chained up normally rasulullah sallallahu alaihi wa'alehi or imam

[15:36]alaihi salam or father never delivered a sermon with chains around their

[15:43]hands or with chains around their neck or having been placed in

[15:48]ruins i won't deny that they may have been banished from the

[15:52]muslim community they may have been oppressed in a certain way but

[15:56]not like imam zain al abidin alaihi salam imam zain al abidin

[15:59]delivers the sermon in safar the month after karbala had taken place

[16:06]the month after the tenth of muharram when they've gone from karbala

[16:09]to kufa kufa they went through sinjar they went through musul they

[16:14]went to baalbeg they went to halab they went to hama until

[16:17]eventually they reach sham when he therefore delivers the sermon it's not

[16:21]an imam who's sitting back on a mambar that has a rover

[16:25]from jannah where we can sit down in the land of medina

[16:29]he is delivering this in the court of an empire that absolutely

[16:35]despised his great grandfather emir al muminin alaihi salam i ask you

[16:40]delivered in front of people who didn't despise his grandfather who of

[16:47]the quraysh hated abdul muttalib people respected abdul muttalib because they remembered

[16:51]feel likewise you find imam ali alaihi salam people had a sort

[16:59]of reverence for the fact that he's from bani hashim father dizarah

[17:02]alaihi salam you would find that although oppressed there would still be

[17:06]people who recognize their position imam zain al abidin alaihi salam enters

[17:10]the court of yazid in sham upon entrance this is after he's

[17:15]got his whole face bleeding from having been pelted with stones sayyidah

[17:20]zaynab alaihi salam says when we walked in the durbar in the

[17:24]market what today you see sughul hamidiyah in damascus when we were

[17:29]walking through there people were poking spears into our waste and they

[17:34]were calling out these are the children of who these are the

[17:39]children of the man who killed your parents at khandaq and khaybar

[17:44]come and take vengeance for him and you all know very well

[17:48]that imam zain al abirin had a chain around his neck which

[17:51]sahal bin sa'adhi sa'adi says i saw zain al abidin ali ibn

[17:56]al hussain with a chain around his neck and i want you

[17:59]to remember this chain around his neck because in my musaiba i

[18:02]want to take you there inshaallah he had this chain around his

[18:05]neck this was when within a month of karbala sahil said that

[18:10]when i saw him he said to me get me a piece

[18:13]of cloth i wondered why does he want a piece of cloth

[18:16]he took the cloth placed it between the chain and the neck

[18:19]he said this is the first time since the battle of karbala

[18:23]where i've had any comfort between the chain and the neck otherwise

[18:27]this chain has been cutting me throughout the journey and remember that

[18:32]journey alone 1,500 soldiers had accompanied that journey to take them into

[18:38]shaan and so when imam zainul abdi therefore delivers this khutbah this

[18:43]khutbah is at a moment when what has just happened yazid has

[18:47]just instructed a lecturer to give a lecture cursing imam ali and

[18:52]imam al hussain alaihi salaam moana i don't understand when you say

[18:56]to me that you shia cursed the sahaba more the origin of

[19:00]the cursing is in your umayyad palaces as in let's get this

[19:04]straight if you're saying to me that whoever does of a sahabi

[19:08]of the holy prophet peace be upon his family is a kafir

[19:11]but the begins in your umayyad palace my imam had left your

[19:17]world for twenty five years when he came back you fought him

[19:21]at jamal you fought him at saffin and then after that you

[19:24]brought up your children hating him and cursing him if cursing the

[19:29]sahaba means that you're a kafir then what do you say about

[19:32]those who instituted the cursing of imam ali alaihi salaam so you

[19:36]had the man who was there and he was cursing imam ali

[19:39]and imam al hussain alaihi salaam at that moment imam zayn al

[19:43]abideen chained up decided that this will not happen that now it's

[19:49]time for me to stand up of course this was not his

[19:51]first khutba he had given a khutba in khutba imam zayn al

[19:55]abideen had a khutba in khutba sayyid al zaynab had a khutba

[19:58]in khutba on khulsum who nobody ever mentions the sister of sayyidah

[20:03]zaynab she gave a khutba in kufa fatima bint al hussein gave

[20:08]a khutba in kufa now in sham sayyidah zaynab gives the khutba

[20:27]he stands up and he begins with his own sermon let us

[20:31]tonight look at what are the salient points that we can take

[20:35]from what i call one of the bravest sermons in the history

[20:40]of islam because in reality he should have been killed after this

[20:45]sermon and even yazid himself when he saw him stand up said

[20:50]that i know this will one day bring my downfall allowing him

[20:53]to speak let's look at the salient points that emerge the first

[20:57]thing imam zain al abidin alaihis salam does is that he doesn't

[21:01]show any disrespect in the arena meaning that he doesn't get up

[21:05]and say i'm just gonna speak no he said if you give

[21:07]me permission allow me to speak and i am going to show

[21:11]you the aim of what is a majlis what does he say

[21:15]i want to say some words which are what these words are

[21:23]going to bring the pleasure of allah and and for those who

[21:31]are in the congregation they're going to get rewards and they're going

[21:35]to get gifts because they're attending congregation from here imam has made

[21:40]something clear that whenever a majlis is done in honor of al

[21:45]muhammad these have to be the two aims for both the one

[21:50]organizing and the one sitting in the majlis the one organize the

[21:56]one who is giving the lecture his ultimate aim imam zain al

[22:00]ablind says is what that it has to be for the pleasure

[22:06]of allah subhanahu wa ta'ala because you know i can end up

[22:09]being someone who gives majalis and the whole aim of me giving

[22:13]majalis is purely what is because my father gives lectures his dad

[22:18]gives lectures his granddad gives lectures his great granddad gives lectures it

[22:23]becomes a family business in reality it really becomes a family business

[22:27]because you're a a high school dropout in some cases and not

[22:31]to say that there's anything wrong with being a high school dropout

[22:34]on the contrary are people who are high school dropouts who became

[22:37]multimillionaires there are people who are high school dropouts who themselves for

[22:42]example allah opened other doors of risk there are people who are

[22:45]high school dropouts because their parents were in trouble but the high

[22:48]school dropout who himself is what himself is someone the ghetto from

[22:55]the rubbish of the people and then what does he decide he

[22:58]decides that what i'll do is i'll give him a jealous why

[23:03]because it's a family affair it's a family business dad's done it

[23:06]granddad's done it his granddad's done it his granddad's done it what

[23:11]am i gonna achieve if i now give majalis people will kiss

[23:15]my hand when i give majalis because i'm someone who sits on

[23:19]mambar so that means already even if i have zero ilm people

[23:23]will kiss my hand he said if i bring you someone who

[23:26]looks religious now and i sit him in your house will you

[23:29]even have a clue if he's knowledgeable or not straight away you'll

[23:32]see him maulana salaam alaikum and so on why because you on

[23:36]the ground have respect for the one who sits on mambar al

[23:39]hussain do i do you agree but when a person themselves enters

[23:44]this and then here is what that i've not achieved anything in

[23:48]life i've not studied anything and you know what not only is

[23:53]this in the family but there's good profit to be made from

[23:56]sitting on here yes why because i could sit on here and

[24:01]people could give me gifts for sitting on here and then i

[24:05]can open institutions while i'm sitting on here so therefore it's actually

[24:10]something very good i should give majalis because there's a good amount

[24:14]of income also coming in from here number three because i believe

[24:18]i have a god given right to give majalis we are families

[24:23]who have a god given right that we have always been known

[24:28]and therefore we are the ones who will continue to give these

[24:30]majalis that person also sees that majalis al hussain bring you fame

[24:36]you can have a big following with majalis al hussain wherever you

[24:40]go in the world you can have hundreds of thousands following you

[24:43]on facebook hundreds of thousands following you on instagram and on twitter

[24:48]and on snapchat you can have people saying that you're great and

[24:52]so on so what happens is why not take this look at

[24:55]this the limelight with this is something unreal imam zain al abideen

[25:00]in front of yazid while yazid is say is sitting said the

[25:03]aim of this that i'm about to say is it brings pleasure

[25:08]to allah subhanahu ta'ala then that is a majlis that as long

[25:15]as this brings pleasure to allah then that's the aim of the

[25:18]lecture that i'm giving because one of the main areas in which

[25:22]you could be disturbed or affected by shaitan is sitting where i'm

[25:25]sitting right now believe you me why because it can build an

[25:29]arrogance in you an arrogance where you feel that people are not

[25:33]worthy of talking to you people are not worthy of sitting with

[25:36]you you begin to act rudely with people who organize majalis you

[25:42]actually begin to think of yourself as something big the reality is

[25:45]i could give 5,010 majals before i die believe you me none

[25:52]of it is in reality going to raise my status because there's

[25:56]only one imam al hussain i'll die i'll go under the ground

[26:00]but imam al hussain's name remains the highest you coming up here

[26:04]thinking that this mambar is all about you it's not about you

[26:09]rabhan there is a pleasure in serving allah subhanahu wa ta'ala as

[26:14]long as what i'm doing is for the pleasure of allah that's

[26:17]why even when you give him ajallis even if someone attacks you

[26:20]and says you're this you're that as long as you know that

[26:24]your nina is to serve allah whatever arrows are thrown you're not

[26:28]worried the ones who get angry quickly are the ones who looked

[26:33]for fame doing this and now find there's no fame coming to

[26:37]them whereas those of us who were streets from back in the

[26:40]day allah opens all the doors for us so what you have

[26:43]is on the one hand on the one hand then what those

[26:50]who are sitting what is their for those who are sitting there

[26:55]is great reward and great gifts from allah subhanahu wa ta'ala how

[26:59]many times do you see in our communities today there are people

[27:02]who don't realize the greatness of sitting in majlis al hussain alaihi

[27:06]salam many don't realize until covid came when covid came do you

[27:12]know what a blessing it was because normally there are those who

[27:15]may fall into a habit that i won't come to a majlis

[27:17]the whole year until ten nights of muharram now where's the majlis

[27:20]in the ten nights now all of a sudden there's an emptiness

[27:24]because now muharram and safar we were used to majalis all the

[27:27]time there were people who were thinking that they were doing a

[27:30]favor coming to majalis on the contrary you were entering the banquet

[27:35]of rewards from allah subhanahu wa ta'ala believe you me you're entering

[27:38]a banquet do you think that me making up the numbers for

[27:42]majdas al hussain makes me special i'm honored to be associated with

[27:47]abba abdullah it's an honor for me that i come to a

[27:52]place how many places on this earth do you come there are

[27:55]many who look for freebies if they go to an exhibition they

[27:57]go to a conference they look for a freebie where you get

[28:00]a couple of gifts at the end in this one you don't

[28:03]just get gifts nonstop we're going to reward you why why because

[28:10]you sat in majlis al hussain alaihi salam and you heard the

[28:13]words of imam al hussain alaihi salam and you heard masa ibn

[28:17]hussain alaihi salam do know what we will do for you we'll

[28:19]reward you we'll let angels be your servants because you shed a

[28:23]tear for sayyid ishuwada imam therefore says in front of the court

[28:27]of yazid who are who are they many of them were haters

[28:34]of ahlul bayt but imam was saying you know for you people

[28:38]even you people sitting in a majlis you may hate us but

[28:41]you don't know just sitting here has already brought you thawab and

[28:45]there is already edu for you people of sham without realizing that

[28:49]you're sitting in majlis al hussain alaihis salam never should we therefore

[28:54]take it for granted because when we fall into that trap i'll

[28:57]go when it's muharram i'll go when it's shahar ramadan no no

[29:00]no no you know there's a majlis and don't fall into this

[29:04]trap by the way of going to a majlis on the basis

[29:06]of which marja you follow baba go wherever there's majalis al hussain

[29:10]alaihis salam unfortunately even in london how many different mosques we split

[29:15]into because of which marja we follow we go to that mosque

[29:19]wherever there's a majlis of imam there is ajaran tawab i go

[29:23]there not because of my political rivalries or who my best friends

[29:28]are i go there to learn about what ahlul bayt left behind

[29:32]so the imam begun by this when he then stood up and

[29:35]he then said of course praising allah subhanahu wa ta'ala then he

[29:39]mentioned to all of them what he mentioned that listen there are

[29:42]nations who lived longer than you you people sham your average age

[29:46]is not gonna be longer than 70 75 there are nations that

[29:49]live till february may nabi nukh 09/1950 they lived longer than you

[29:54]where are they now there are people who are wealthier than all

[29:57]of you people of sham where are they now you people in

[30:00]sham think you're very wealthy farahan could buy you all out where

[30:04]is he now from there having done the introduction which is the

[30:08]beauty of any majlis you set out an intro before you go

[30:11]into the points then he went into the points what did he

[30:14]do first he made it clear allah subhanahu wa ta'ala has given

[30:18]us virtue in six and he has given us excellence in seven

[30:25]the virtues that he's given us subhanallah virtue in six he doesn't

[30:30]wanna be arrogant against the people there allah has given us virtue

[30:32]in six we are a people who have what we have been

[30:37]given knowledge but not just knowledge we've been given eloquence not just

[30:43]eloquence we've been given courage not just courage we've been given forbearance

[30:50]not just forbearance we've been given the believers affection for us in

[30:55]their hearts and generosity all of these are virtues we thank allah

[30:59]for all of these we thank allah they're great virtues for us

[31:06]but we've been given excellence in seven that none of you people

[31:11]in sham can claim that excellence on the contrary the very person

[31:15]i'm standing in front of his parents and grandparents fought this excellence

[31:21]what does he say from us is the chosen master from us

[31:28]who the holy prophet is from me or from you yazid i

[31:36]ask you from me or from you because towards the end of

[31:40]this lecture we ask ourselves one question who won at karbala imam

[31:43]al hussain or yazid and in a few moments when the adhan

[31:47]will be recited we know who won imam says we from us

[31:51]allah has given us excellence from us is the chosen prophet from

[31:56]us is the sadiq why not say from us is ali ibn

[32:05]abi talib why not say from us is amir al mumineem from

[32:11]us is sayyid al wasee why from us is the sadiq because

[32:15]anyone else who claims to have that title is a liar according

[32:18]to imam ali alaihis salam i am the sadiq and i am

[32:22]the farooq and whoever claims that title other than me is a

[32:26]liar and whoever claims it is a liar so when imam zain

[32:34]al abidin says this what's he saying i don't need to say

[32:37]imam ali's name there are others who call certain people sadiq now

[32:42]you calling them of course other schools in islam have every right

[32:45]to call who they want these titles i am not contravening into

[32:49]their narratives in my narrative there is only one sadiq because of

[32:54]who because of imam zain al abideen not because of me i

[32:57]could argue this all day but imam says there's only one truthful

[33:00]one and that is ali then he says from us is the

[33:05]one who flies with wings doesn't mention his name his name is

[33:09]jafar but he says from us is tayyar the tayyar the one

[33:13]who flies with the one who lost both arms in the battle

[33:16]of mutta from us is the lion of allah and the lion

[33:20]of his prophet who and why mention the lion of allah and

[33:24]lion of his prophet because your grandmother is the one who chewed

[33:28]his liver do you know what a brave moment this is because

[33:32]yazid has just said later yazid's famous lines of poetry which he

[33:47]took from the famous jahili poet that he says bani hashem you

[33:51]know what they did they played with this kingdom he doesn't call

[33:54]it nubuwa they played with a kingdom there was no news there

[33:58]was no revelation i wish my ancestors from badr were here today

[34:03]you know what imam senan amin says to him it's okay from

[34:06]us is the lion of allah and the lion of his prophet

[34:10]meaning hamzah is from us hind is from you and you thought

[34:14]that hind won because you said you wish hind was here i

[34:17]wish hamza was here and while you will keep praising hind subhanallah

[34:23]where in the year 2020 how much they still adore hind yeah

[34:27]i don't know well i don't know this religion what it is

[34:30]really i don't know yeah this was his name the one in

[34:32]silence of the lambs silence of the lambs hannibal the one who

[34:36]eats human beings hannibal the cannibal yeah this one you would make

[34:41]him lead your religion wallah would you make him lead your religion

[34:43]yeah you got me a nutcase to make this guy lead your

[34:46]religion but no no no only us only us the sons of

[34:52]cannibals ruled our religion how do you expect how do you accept

[34:58]such a thing sometimes when a person tells me how do you

[35:00]know that being a shia is on the right path i said

[35:04]listen the moment i realized a cannibal and her children ruled this

[35:07]religion that was enough for me i knew that even if it's

[35:11]not the right as long as i'm not with them i'm on

[35:14]the good path a lion of god and the lion of his

[35:19]prophet he doesn't mention the names there's no jafar no ali no

[35:23]hamzah listen to the khutba in arabic from us is the nabi

[35:28]from us is the sadiq from us is the tayyar from us

[35:32]from us is who the mistress of the woman that's enough for

[35:38]us from us is father the mistress of the woman from us

[35:43]are the masters of the youth of this ummah the grandsons of

[35:47]taiyyah rahma al hassan wal hussain so when he brings all of

[35:52]these names he has an aim second thing what does he then

[35:54]do he goes to saying i'm the son of mecca and minnah

[36:00]mecca and minnah would have no meaning were it not for the

[36:04]fact that we were the family that gave it blessings my grandfather

[36:08]was born in that area my great grandfather bought revelation otherwise what

[36:13]is the area the area stones the area's rubble the area's mountains

[36:18]what is it that gave blessings to a barren land except al

[36:22]ibrahim which eventually was al muhammad otherwise what is it a desert

[49:04]topic that you cannot relate to what happened at karbala he said

[49:11]the ground in karbala and surrounded by what surrounded by lovers surrounded

[49:20]planes because you know for him burying his father was extremely difficult

[50:06]abideen because he ended with that yazid at that moment knew that

[50:10]he was in trouble that message is not to yazid it's to

[51:09]the people around who are listening that we are the grandchildren of

[51:15]the man whose name you mentioned in evan yeah and when the

[51:18]quran says why do you not ponder and reflect in salah you

[51:26]say ashidwana muhammad rasulullah and you've taken muhammad's granddaughters as prisoners reflect

[51:32]imam knew yazid will never change he remained as he is nothing

[51:37]will change people try and throw in these stories about imam telling

[51:42]yazid that if you pray salatul kufailah these stories are all myths

[51:45]and absolute nonsense yazid bin muawiyah there is nothing to him in

[51:49]changing but maybe just maybe and there was a person subhanallah sitting

[51:52]next to yazid he said to me yazid i'd like to ask

[51:55]you something he said you know those girls that you have in

[51:58]front of you who are all prisoners who's he referring to sukaina

[52:02]and the rukaiya and the others he said want to ask you

[52:05]something who are they he said oh these are the granddaughters of

[52:10]muhammad he said muhammad isn't the one who bought your religion he

[52:15]said yes he said so you've chained the necks of his granddaughters

[53:37]always come would be he's on a journey and she would keep

[53:42]asking keep asking until one night imagine imam zaynab sitting zainab sitting

[53:47]and all of a sudden they fall asleep all of them suddenly

[53:51]they hear a cry has awoken what is it i want to

[53:55]see my father he said that i will be seeing him where

[54:00]is he yazid was awoken he said what is it they said

[54:03]hussain has a young daughter called ruqaiya may allah bless us the

[54:07]ziyara of ruqaiya you allah has a young daughter called ruqaiya and

[54:12]she wants to see her dad he goes then take her dad's

[54:14]head take the dad's head imam zain al abideen wasn't just khutbah

[54:21]imam became a father to al muhammad all of a sudden the

[54:25]dad's head bought may allah never show you a day where someone

[54:29]brings you the jitha of your dad or the jissim of your

[54:32]dad or the head of your dad it's a very difficult moment

[54:36]and she looks and when they bring it it's like a bowl

[54:38]of food so she's like auntie zaynab i never said i was

[54:42]hungry i never said i'm hungry and those of you who have

[54:50]daughters here you know how close your daughter is to you and

[54:54]you know how much you care about the feelings of your daughter

[54:57]and the man said to us not food she lifted the bowl

[55:39]marks all over her body and imam zain al al abdi would

[55:44]say those are the marks of the whips of shimmer bin dil

[55:47]joshan so he became after that khutba a protector but no doubt

[55:53]of all of the tragedies seeing zainab being slapped broke him seeing

[55:58]kulthum having her hijab ripped off her broke him seeing the six

[56:03]month old baby fall that broke him seeing his brothers broke him

[56:08]but nothing would break him like seeing his father in his final

[56:12]moments it's one thing loving your father it's another not being able

[56:16]to be there for him ask anyone they'll tell you i love

[56:20]my dad but please don't show me a day i can't be

[56:23]there for my dad that would be the worst feeling imagine your

[56:26]father doesn't live near you and one day you hear your father

[56:29]has been taken away one day you hear that you will never

[56:32]see your father again it's the worst feeling ever because everyone's close

[56:37]to their father and then suddenly one day you realize i can

[56:40]never help my father again and that thought remained with imam zain

[56:44]al abideen for the rest of his life every time you would

[56:50]find that the imam wherever he would go he tried his hardest

[56:54]to contain his emotion he tried to be there strong for everyone

[56:58]but even he on certain occasions would find it difficult to contain

[57:02]it on a night like this take your hearts to jannah to

[57:07]that lonely grave of imam zain al abideen how many of us

[57:12]yearn to be there over there in medina sitting by that grave

[57:16]one day inshaallah how many of us yearn to be sitting there

[57:19]next to the grave of zahra al abideen next to the grave

[57:25]of imam al hassan zain al abedin muhammad al baqir jafar asadak

[57:30]next to the imam of our time who we remember on a

[57:33]night like this abu hamza thamali sees imam zain al abedin one

[57:37]day crying and crying and crying and he says to him oh

[57:41]imam surely the patience can overtake you with the tragedy until today

[57:48]you cry he says to him oh abu hamza yaqub cried for

[57:53]yusuf even though yusuf was alive i saw 17 members of my

[58:00]family tragically killed in front of me that's why on one occasion

[58:05]when he walked past the butcher he said to the butcher oh

[58:10]butcher do you give water to that sheep before you slaughter it

[58:15]the butcher replied to him by saying oh imam of course i

[58:21]give water to that sheep because every creation of allah deserves water

[58:28]before you kill it he said to him oh man oh man

[58:33]my father lay on the ground with no one to quench his

[58:37]thirst on another occasion he was coming past the graveyard he saw

[58:41]the person there he said to him oh man when i die

[58:45]will you bury my body he said to me oh of course

[58:50]i will he looked at him and he said oh man my

[58:54]father lay on the plains of karbala for three nights with no

[59:00]one to bury his body my dear brothers and sisters on a

[59:03]night like this the poison had surrounded the body of imam zain

[59:07]al abideen it was very difficult for him the pain had overtaken

[59:12]him who was with him imam al baqir remember imam al baqir

[59:17]was three years old at karbala they both had remembered karbala imam

[59:21]al baqir narrates this night in medina was a difficult night seeing

[59:27]my father and the pain that i saw him in he said

[59:32]when i saw the poison surround the body of my father i

[59:40]came and i embraced the chest of my father you allah never

[59:45]give us a moment where we cannot hug our father before he

[59:49]dies allow us to be able to look in the eyes of

[59:52]our father before he dies he says at that moment i hugged

[59:59]the chest of my father he said the moment i hugged the

[60:06]chest of my father i saw him cry in a way i've

[60:11]never ever seen him cry before allahu akbar this is thirty four

[60:17]years after karbala but he says i saw him cry in a

[60:21]way i've never seen him cry all because of a hug why

[60:25]i said to him oh father father father why is it that

[60:31]you cry in a moment you'll see the eyes of rasulullah in

[60:36]a moment you'll see the rib of fatima in a moment you'll

[60:41]see the head of ali in a moment you'll see the throat

[60:45]of hassan in a moment you'll see your father sayyid ash shahada

[60:51]you'll see imam al hussein father why do you cry when i

[60:56]hug you on your chest he looked at me and the pain

[61:00]and the tears were clear from his face he sent to me

[61:07]my son muhammad muhammad muhammad when i am dying are on my

[61:15]chest when i am dying you're on my chest whereas do you

[61:21]know who was on the chest of my father when he died

[61:26]i had to see shimmer on the chest of my father and

[61:31]i was not able to go and help him imam al baqir

[61:36]says i broke down at that moment because that moment of shimmer

[61:38]on the chest remained with all of al muhammad every year in

[61:42]the maktale whenever we hear it was it breaks all of our

[61:49]hearts but then imam al bakir says something else broke me when

[61:53]my father passed away and we said he said i went to

[61:59]do the ghusul of my father's body he said i noticed something

[62:03]what was it he said i noticed two marks one of them

[62:07]i knew about the other i couldn't believe was still there what

[62:12]were the marks he said the one that we knew about was

[62:15]the marks of the bruising from the food he used to carry

[62:19]to the poor in the middle of the night imam used to

[62:23]carry food to the poor people in the middle of the night

[62:25]he used to carry heavy bags of food nobody would know it

[62:29]was him people would just see a man with a hoodie on

[62:33]his head giving out food to the poor but the bruising when

[62:36]imam al baqir was doing ghosrud there was a lot of bruising

[62:39]on his shoulders and on his back but the other one allahu

[62:43]akbar but the other one imam said the other one couldn't believe

[62:49]when i came to washing his neck i saw the marks of

[62:55]the chains from sham all over his neck little did i know

[63:01]that thirty years after karabbalah the marks were still on the neck

[63:06]of imam ali ibn al hussain let us all raise our hands

[63:25]my dear brothers and sisters and ask for your hijat i know

[63:30]all of you have hijat related to your families related to your

[63:34]business life related to your community on a night like this let

[63:39]us remember all of our beloved ones may allah subhanahu wa ta'ala

[63:44]bless the soul of ayatollah al khawi and bless the soul of

[63:48]his family members and his relatives and those who were persecuted by

[63:52]the regime in saddam and lost their lives you allah bless all

[63:55]of the souls of our inshaallah you allah raise us with muhammad

[64:00]and al muhammad allow us to be amongst those who continue to

[64:03]serve the imam of our time imam saha balaci wa salaam allow

[64:08]us to visit jannat al baqir and to visit the land of

[64:11]karbala and preserve all of our lands we have a few brothers

[64:16]in our community who are feeling very unwell of them said zohar

[64:20]al hakim may allah subhanahu wa ta'ala give him strength in these

[64:23]difficult times and there are other brothers and sisters who have also

[64:27]requested for dua i could name all of them but allah subhanahu

[64:33]wa ta'ala knows what's in the hearts let us all recite together

[64:36]the verse please all in our loudest voices wherever we may be

[64:40]all of us together last one we pray to allah subhanahu wa

[65:23]ta'ala for the originators of this majlis that allah subhanahu wa ta'ala

[65:28]continues to bless them in their service of muhammad and al muhammad

[65:32]we pray to allah with but before it wherever you may be

[65:39]the loudest of your salawat allah
