[0:23]alrahman alraheem yeah you had Lavina amino chuckle ah how economist side
[0:31]of lien respected brothers and sisters assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh inshallah in this
[0:40]course we will discuss the life of imam ja'far sada para salam
[0:47]the sixth imam of elevates and throughout the course we will discuss
[0:53]various topics relating to the life of this great amount first we
[0:58]will talk about his personal life his birth his death his parents
[1:08]his lineage his biography the social role that the Imam Ali Saddam
[1:14]had in his community his political role the governments and caliphs that
[1:20]lived during his era so the Imam Ali said I'm we know
[1:25]that he lived during the Omo e-government and he witnessed the fall
[1:28]of the Omo a government and the rise of the Abbasi government
[1:31]and it was that reason in particular that gave him the opportunity
[1:35]to come out and deliver his knowledge otherwise all of the Imams
[1:40]they had the knowledge but they didn't have the opportunity this is
[1:44]why for example a man Zine El Abidine Allah's Salam he delivered
[1:48]his message through the ah through supplication that was his way of
[1:53]delivering his message each Imam had their own circumstances that they were
[1:58]living in so imam sadiq ali saddam one of the things that
[2:02]we're going to study is the governments that he lived and the
[2:04]caleb's that that he encountered throughout his life another thing is the
[2:10]students of the Imam there are over 4,000 recorded students of imam
[2:17]ja'far al-sadiq alehissalaam a lot of those students are prominent scholars that
[2:21]we resort to our scholars they go they look at their hadith
[2:27]they go and they look at their you know what they say
[2:28]so this is why if anyone of you is taking their child
[2:32]class the class on the the book of the biography of the
[2:35]narrator's of hadith in that class we talked about how how you
[2:41]know whose authentic of those and who's not authentic and how the
[2:44]hadith is accepted so this is one study you look at the
[2:46]students of the amount you look at the adversaries of the Imam
[2:51]there were some that were basically the enemies of the Imam some
[2:54]of the political figures at that time and there were others who
[3:00]were the the polit the politicians and the Caleb's they would place
[3:04]them scholars they would place them as puppets just to go against
[3:06]the Imam RA his Saddam so this is something that we're going
[3:12]to be looking at we're going to look at the contributions of
[3:14]the Imam Ali said I'm towards other fields of knowledge toward Sciences
[3:20]towards medicine towards mathematics towards biology towards chemistry and another thing is
[3:29]we're going to be studying the different sects that emerged during the
[3:33]time of the Imam because as we know even the Shia school
[3:35]of thought it took its shape during the era of American Islam
[3:41]before the era of imam sadiq being the shear i was not
[3:46]the way it is right now saying this person is a shiri
[3:48]it was not right now you have you have this image in
[3:52]your mind you have you you know when you say this person's
[3:54]are sure you think of you know one particular identity mindset ideology
[3:59]before him on the side that that wasn't it wasn't shaped and
[4:04]similarly it was during the time of Imam Sadiq that many other
[4:07]sects also emerged for example there was the case Ani sect there
[4:13]was the Zadie the Zadie sect they started following Zaid the uncle
[4:16]of imam sadiq Zaid the son of imam zein in aberdeen he
[4:18]had a revolution against many Omiya and he was killed in a
[4:22]similar way like a magazine on a sauna but he was of
[4:26]course not the Imam he was just revolting and he believed that
[4:30]imam sadiq was the Imam but after him some people they came
[4:34]out and they said Jade is the Imam and there are ladies
[4:36]today there are Smiley's it's this Mihaly sect emerged after during the
[4:41]life of imam sadiq ali salaam why because it's my eighth is
[4:46]the son of imam sadiq Esmail is the son of imam sadiq
[4:48]who died during the life of an arm Sadiq are they set
[4:52]up and Imam Sadiq he himself buried him and he came out
[4:55]after burying him he came out of the grave and he said
[4:57]I buried my son because he was the oldest so some people
[5:02]they thought that the oldest of the son the oldest son is
[5:05]the Imam after the amount buried him he came and he said
[5:10]my son Ismail died and don't come and say he's an imam
[5:12]after me after the death of a mom start up some people
[5:15]they said it smiled as the Imam he came back to life
[5:19]and and he's the Imam and this is the smiley sect and
[5:21]there is another set by the name of the Fatah sect the
[5:26]Fatah high school of thoughts that was they began to follow Abdullah
[5:30]the son of Imam Sadiq Abdullah and after they started following him
[5:35]and that was when a another school of thought emerged another is
[5:39]the what Rafi they they did not believe in him and Karim
[5:43]Ali Saddam they fought they accepted all of the Imams until the
[5:45]Nam Sodom so they stopped that and I'm and call them so
[5:48]these are some things that we're going to study the theological schools
[5:52]of thought that emerged during his era and we're going to be
[5:55]studying as well we're going to take a look at the fifty
[5:59]school of thought the jurisprudential schools of thought that emerged during his
[6:03]era because we know who was one of the most important students
[6:05]of the EEMA or one of these students of the imam abu
[6:13]hanifa today the Hanafi muslims they follow a scholar who studied under
[6:17]imam sadiq ali salam another person was Malik the Malik a school
[6:21]of thoughts Malik also studied under mom Sodom and the others as
[6:25]well they benefited in one way or another there were theological schools
[6:31]that emerged meaning in terms of akkad not in terms of for
[6:35]example the Marta City and the Shia are the schools of you
[6:39]know the the the argument regarding predestination and free well this was
[6:43]something that emerged during the time of the Imam and it was
[6:47]the Imam Ali Salaam who would answer this and he would have
[6:49]an answer for all of these so this is what we're going
[6:54]to study now some people come and ask you why study the
[6:56]life of the Imam at a sauna why are we studying the
[7:00]life of Imam Sadiq there are two answers to this one is
[7:06]a general answer and that is it is a duty upon every
[7:08]Muslim to know who his or her leaders are just as we
[7:13]have to know who our own Allah is we have to know
[7:17]all of our leaders we have there's a duty to have not
[7:19]only obedience but Martha as well and Allah says in the Quran
[7:26]Allah yeahyou alladhina amanu Atlee allaha wa ali or rasul what a
[7:31]little Amram income oh you people who believe obey Allah obey the
[7:34]Prophet and obey the oil am those who Allah has appointed as
[7:42]leaders appoint a pond you fat antennas optim fish a n400 in
[7:47]allah what was soon and if you are unaware who your leader
[7:52]is go back to Allah and the Rasul and Allah and the
[7:54]result will explain to you who your leader is in kuntum terminable
[7:59]a human life here that is a wrong way senator will -
[8:02]wila so that we so if you the verse continues it says
[8:08]if you believe in Allah and and the afterlife then you rich
[8:11]you go back to the prophet and you go back to the
[8:15]Quran to understand who your leaders are so another verse for last
[8:20]Iloka male here on ll mode the TEFL purba say i do
[8:23]not ask you for anything except showing love to the kaaba okay
[8:26]who are the family of the prophets the family of the prophet
[8:28]one of them is Imam Sadiq under Saddam he is included in
[8:33]the circle of the family of the prophets everyone there's a hadith
[8:37]from the Prophet which says that everyone will be called or excuse
[8:42]me the verse in the Quran says this young man Okolona sin
[8:46]they Amami him on the day of judgment everyone will have to
[8:50]go and stand behind Imam who is my Imam I have to
[8:55]be able to answer I have to know so this is why
[8:59]generally speaking it's very important to know the Imam of our time
[9:03]in another hadith from rasulullah sallallahu an accessory man matawaia arrived Imam
[9:09]as a man Madhumita 10 jahiliya this is a hadith as accepted
[9:14]by all Muslims he who dies and does not know the Imam
[9:16]of his time dies the death of the Jolly of the pagans
[9:20]so here from this hadith we understand that we have a duty
[9:23]to know the lives of the imams to be well-acquainted with the
[9:28]lives of our amounts and we are going to be asked about
[9:31]our amounts one of the first steps the first time that a
[9:36]person is going to be asked is in the grave as soon
[9:39]as the person you know is placed in the grave this is
[9:40]why in the tongue teen and may it you say if the
[9:43]angels come to you and ask you who your Imam is you
[9:46]tell them for landfill landfill and is my Imam because we have
[9:48]to know our Imams and there are many a hadith that talked
[9:51]about this in kitab and Kaffee Osuna Kaffee there is a whole
[9:59]chapter by the name of Bob non-fatal Imam worldwide lay the chapter
[10:03]of knowing who your Imam is we have to know why our
[10:08]moms are and in that chapter there are several hadith I'm going
[10:14]to mention some of them the first and Shana bin Mohammed and
[10:16]mahalo bin Mohammad and in hussain IBN ali lucia carla hadith anna
[10:23]muhammadan Alphaville and abu hamza abu hamza somali he mentions from abu
[10:28]jafar ali Sara Musa Abu Jafar a mammal backronym abu jafar imam
[10:34]ja'far as-sadiq so Abu Jafar is Imam al baqarah Salam he says
[10:42]in yeah Buddha law many are of Allah he says the one
[10:45]who worships Allah is the one who knows Allah in the Maya
[10:51]of Allah Annamayya Buddha la manera of Allah the one who were
[10:55]truly worships Allah is the one who knows Allah and then he
[11:02]says phenomena laiá laiá out of allah the enema Buddha who Hakka
[11:07]novel Allah the person who doesn't know Allah this person is just
[11:12]worshiping out of deviance this person doesn't know what they're worshipping and
[11:16]there are many people like that they do who watch the dude
[11:18]standing up fasting doing everything but they don't even know who they're
[11:21]worshipping they don't know allah subhanaw taala you tell them describe to
[11:24]me a lot though they'll describe a body they'll describe you know
[11:29]something that is very far from resembling a lot the way allah
[11:32]has described in the Quran so Abu Hamza a Somali he tells
[11:37]the mammoth Baccarat a cinema Hamza was the companion of imam zain
[11:40]in aberdeen and the companion of imam al baqarah him set up
[11:43]so he says good joy to feed our family fetch allah he
[11:48]says may my soul be sacrificed for you what is the matter
[11:51]of Allah how do you know Allah he says God touch people
[11:57]maja ZOA gel what Suzuka rasool ullah sallallahu alayhi wa ala la
[12:04]mala ali and aleeah's salaam well Tim Amy may well be a
[12:13]metal Hooda alayhi Salam vamos a la Madrid he says the first
[12:16]the first he says just decode la as though again believing in
[12:21]Allah believing and accepting Allah what does the chorus ooh there's a
[12:27]llama hani who are and accepting the prophet this is all muslims
[12:29]agree to this find me one muslim who says I only believe
[12:32]in God and I don't believe in the Prophet everyone believes in
[12:35]the prophets however believing in everything the Prophet says even when the
[12:39]prophets as a follower I leave my baton up after me follow
[12:41]the Imams after me so then the Imam continues he says one
[12:46]more lat alien alayhis-salam and following Ali Ali Salam when it tamami
[12:51]be and taking him as a leader as an imam will be
[12:56]a metal hood a alaykum Salam and following the Imams of hooda
[12:59]the Imams of guidance after Imam Ali Allah's Salam well bara Allah
[13:04]Maya as though a gentleman adore him and distancing yourself having bara
[13:09]from the enemies of these three categories Allah the prophet and the
[13:14]Imams alayhim Salam and then he says Oaxaca die for la azotea
[13:20]this is how God is known this is how God is truly
[13:24]worshipped one when you worship a lot you have to worship a
[13:27]lot the way Allah wants you to worship Him not the way
[13:30]you want to worship him otherwise what's the difference with a Blees
[13:34]at least he tells Allah Allah let me worship you in any
[13:37]way that you want don't make me don't make me bow to
[13:41]Adam don't make me do Sidhu to Adam Allah tells him but
[13:43]nehi thoroughly delightful to read worship me the way I want you
[13:49]to worship me not the way you want to worship this is
[13:50]all it is when it comes to the imam ali i'm sena
[13:53]the imams and believing in their moms we have to surrender to
[13:57]allah subhanaw taala allah says you follow acts you follow excellences you
[14:02]follow why you follow I not because you want not because of
[14:04]your own desires or anything else and you ask any shiri person
[14:08]why do you follow these imams we have to have sufficient proof
[14:13]how they were appointed by Allah how are they were appointed by
[14:16]the Quran how they were appointed by rasulallah and anyone who is
[14:19]following anyone either than the island baits come and bring me proof
[14:23]if you bring me sufficient proof that the Quran appointed this person
[14:26]but so Allah appointed this person I'm not going to argue with
[14:28]you but if you can't bring the proof then it's not about
[14:33]just standing and arguing with me it's about you standing on the
[14:36]day of judgment and that is going to be a very long
[14:39]stand so this is the whole issue it's about following what a
[14:42]loss of high note Allah wants here the Imam Ali said I
[14:46]mean he says that the Imam was sort of LA and Allah
[14:48]are all connected you can't just say ok I'm going to believe
[14:52]in God and I'm not going to believe in the Prophet I'm
[14:54]going to believe in the prophet and God and I'm not going
[14:57]to accept the imam in another hadith and hussain and mala and
[15:00]in hussain of nanny and ahmed IBN ABI and even or they
[15:05]had definite arrow ahead so this hadith is weaker if anyone studying
[15:11]the site they hadn't had definite Arrowhead it doesn't mention the name
[15:15]so it's there's a there's a cut off in the chain of
[15:20]narrations however our scholars when they look at this they see if
[15:23]there's many hadith that's resemble one another even if there is one
[15:27]cut off in the chain if it doesn't contradict the Quran if
[15:30]it doesn't contradict many other hadith generally this hadith are accepted so
[15:36]he says on from one of the Imams ahead of Miriam said
[15:39]I'm an uncle laia corner lobbed mu'minin' hat yo for Lahore a
[15:43]Sulha well Emma Kula home what Imam was a man the person
[15:49]does not become a full movement or a full believer until this
[15:52]person knows Allah and the Prophet and all of the Imams and
[15:58]the Imam of his time way arid alayhi wa you send them
[16:02]LA and he comes to the Imam and he submits to the
[16:04]Imam Allah says in the Quran and Allah homemade Iquitos Aluna and
[16:11]maybe yeah yo holla Dena amanu sallu aleihi was seldom what does
[16:17]what sell them or mean here say Salaam today mom what does
[16:22]Selim mean to submit when we when we are Muslim what are
[16:28]we doing we are Muslim we have submitted in Lahore Malaika Theresa
[16:32]Luna and Ana BIU alladhina amanu sallu alayhi wa salamu submit to
[16:37]rasulullah sallallahu wasallam muchas Lima and the verse continues its estes lima
[16:43]Salalah muhammad want so here he says well you Selim la meaning
[16:49]he submits to the imam whatever the a man tells me to
[16:51]do I have to do some math I'll pay for your away
[16:55]Julie no one how can you know the last and not know
[16:58]the first meaning you have to know all of them and you
[17:00]have to accept all of them and another hadith I know an
[17:05]affidavit Mohammed Annan her say and it has an even Mahmoud and
[17:08]I'm Robin able madam and jabber jabber jabber alayhis-salam Aquila Mahmoud Maharaja
[17:13]Salaam in Maya of Allah Azza WA JAL we are Buddha woman
[17:20]out of Allah was an imam mina al al Bayt almal a
[17:26]are of Allah Azza WA JAL when I are a fool Imam
[17:27]Amina Alan Bates ferony Maya of waya baaad layer of Mahakala one
[17:36]larval Allah and then he says he says enemy of my enemy
[17:39]is a data hazard meaning exclusively this is this is what I'm
[17:43]what I'm saying this is exclusive putting a you know a basically
[17:49]something around it where no one you can't come and bring any
[17:53]other exception to this he says basically only the one who yeah
[17:58]awful not the one who knows Allah is the one who yeah
[18:01]but Allah worships God and then yeah but Allah he says in
[18:07]as a enemy out of Allah as though a generator a badou
[18:10]woman out of Halawa out of her mm the one who truly
[18:13]worships Allah in the right way is no one who knows Allah
[18:15]knows the Imam of his time from our from the added bait
[18:19]and then he says he who does not know Allah and does
[18:23]not know that a man from us added bait he is worshiping
[18:25]someone other than God and this is and then he says what
[18:31]lot this is the deviance so generally speaking we have to know
[18:34]the lives of all of the amounts because the Imams they are
[18:38]the connection between us and law sort of loss on the Liholiho
[18:40]and the Imams are the connection between us and and the Quran
[18:43]the connection between us and our faith and it's the quran and
[18:49]rasulullah that take us to allah so the Imam is the connecting
[18:50]point so this is why we need to know the lives of
[18:54]the Imams and it's not hard to come and you know sit
[18:57]and read a little bit about the life of every month there's
[18:59]214 masam you read a little bit about every amount it's something
[19:03]for our own good today we know some some of us are
[19:08]probably experts in politicians we could come and you name a politician
[19:10]and they'll tell you their whole life story you come and you
[19:15]name a name of an athlete they'll tell you their whole life
[19:18]story okay well these amounts they're not only help us in the
[19:21]afterlife but they also help us in this life as well they're
[19:25]our path to allah subhanaw taala so this was the general answer
[19:27]why do we need to know the Imam specifically why am outside
[19:32]of Aden Salaam why are we talking about a nun Sadiq because
[19:35]of the role that the Imam Ali Salaam played today most of
[19:42]our narrations most of our firk most of our hadith it goes
[19:45]back to which Imam to imam ja'far al-sadiq a.s allah because the
[19:50]imam ali salaam he contributed a lot because of the and the
[19:56]opportunity that he had because of the opportunity to hear first of
[20:00]all the Imam Ali said I'm he lived longer than the other
[20:03]Imams as well you know according to according to hadith some hadith
[20:06]it says he might he lived 68 years others say he might
[20:11]have lived 65 years in difference in opinion but I sort of
[20:14]masala Mahalo an imam ali they lived up to what age 63
[20:20]62 imam enjoyed is the youngest so some of the imams they
[20:28]lived in up to their 20s 25 and I'm sad that he
[20:29]had the opportunity and he had the you know the it was
[20:34]the openness he had the freedom of speech so he was able
[20:39]to teach and this is why the Shia's what's another name for
[20:42]Shia Jaffrey why do I recall the Japanese because we take most
[20:47]of our most of our knowledge is from imam ja'far as-sadiq on
[20:52]a saram you go and you open the el Kaffee you go
[20:55]and you open you know the books of hadith you see that
[20:58]most of the narrations they go back to to Imam and battle
[21:02]because it was towards the end of the life of a mountain
[21:04]biker that that freedom came and and I'm sorry Collison so a
[21:12]mammoth battle and man Sadiq they had the freedom to teach your
[21:17]sister you have a question so she are right now if you
[21:24]say she is a D or considered Shia it's my idea or
[21:27]considered shiobara or considered Shia what if we are considered more Shia
[21:32]but when you say jack fairy school of thoughts you go back
[21:35]to imam ja'far al-sadiq alayhi salam but even a lot you know
[21:43]where would the point where for even some people accepted imam decided
[21:46]but after mom suddenly stopped for example the lot Rafi or this
[21:51]my ID they've accepted him I'm Sadiq but then they didn't accept
[21:53]anyone after mum sod the or they accepted someone else after mom
[21:56]Sodom but in our Imams at which Imam is it that if
[22:02]you accepted this Imam you accepted all of his children who knows
[22:08]this so one Imam he was accepted and there was no division
[22:14]after him no Imam Imam or OVA Imam Aravalli Salaam the hadith
[22:19]says that there was no division after enamorada so there are some
[22:23]that accepted amount called him but didn't accept him a morula no
[22:29]ography they stopped at muhammad qasim they or some people there are
[22:33]some that they took the forms of the Imam the amount Gotham
[22:35]was in prison he had to work in no Akhil once they
[22:39]mom passed away mama dada he came he said I'm their mom
[22:43]not what kill did not return the money back and he stopped
[22:45]believe he didn't believe in a member of Allah so imagine that
[22:49]the tests that the Muslims were going through at that time but
[22:52]the one who accepted it Muhammad Allah accepted all until Imam and
[22:56]Mandy so this is this is something very important however the the
[23:00]sex emerged during the time of Imam Sadiq yes very rare there
[23:06]are some there are some for example the Bora they don't believe
[23:10]in Imam and Cotham I believe they stopped or there were some
[23:14]that believed in him and come there were some sects that did
[23:17]not last for there's the there's the cassini movement that was there
[23:21]a lot of it didn't last the the Fatah hey the photographer
[23:27]they followed up the Lion of the Abdullah another son of Imam
[23:31]Sadiq but that perished we're going to we're going to talk about
[23:35]this later on inshallah yes brother perhaps it was during the time
[23:46]of imam zain al-abideen so after after Imam Muhammad Amin had a
[23:52]fear some people started following him and today and Mata he's accused
[23:57]of being from the following the Hanafi school of thought and this
[24:01]is the case a new school of thought the case a new
[24:03]school of thought is the group from what I believe if I'm
[24:07]not mistaken is the group that followed even el hanout fear after
[24:10]and the reason was at Mohammed opinon Hanna fear he didn't announce
[24:13]his own Imam but he was acting as a spokesperson for imam
[24:18]zain and aberdeen in the political issues Abdeen after the event of
[24:22]karbala it took a quiet role and he he was doing his
[24:24]own you know and through the door through the menage ah through
[24:28]the the treatise on rights and all of these things the political
[24:31]aspect like a moat are there was a rebellion the toois being
[24:35]they rebelled against the government it was Emil Hanna FEA who gave
[24:40]the green light to Al Motta based on the acceptance of Imam
[24:46]of imam zain al-abideen are a set up so nuns an opt-in
[24:48]when they bring the head of armor up inside and obey the
[24:51]lab INSEAD i'm jenn abdun he would do so dude out of
[24:52]thanks to allah so he was happy with while Mokhtar was doing
[24:57]but he didn't come out to speak and he didn't adopt everything
[24:59]that motive did because later history my right that mocked out did
[25:04]not do something that's a hundred percent you know authentic name am
[25:07]ii didn't take the responsibility of anything wrong that he did but
[25:11]he was he was happy with what he was doing and they
[25:13]asked them even though we're going a little bit off topic they
[25:18]asked and I'm sorry ma'am Jane Aberdeen are you happy are you
[25:21]satisfied with what and mocked out is doing he said even if
[25:26]a slave from Ethiopia takes revenge of the death of ABAB de
[25:28]la we would be with him so he didn't give him the
[25:31]full green lights as in a person but he gave him a
[25:33]general green light that anyone who comes and revolts again and takes
[25:36]from you no vengeance for the murders of Imam Hussain were going
[25:40]to be with him so we talked generally why we need to
[25:45]learn about the lives of the Imams now specifically because of the
[25:49]role that the Imam and his salaam had and hence we you
[25:51]know he was able to contribute so much that we are the
[25:56]jafari from the jafari school of thoughts so one the political and
[26:00]social circumstances that the Imam Ali Saddam was living in gave him
[26:05]the opportunity to you know spread the knowledge so as we mentioned
[26:12]there was relative freedom of speech did other Imams have this freedom
[26:15]of speech Imams and I am saying when he said no to
[26:20]use it what did you do he killed the grandson of the
[26:22]prophets that means there was no freedom of speech wherein I was
[26:25]saying the grandson of the Prophet can even say something so the
[26:30]other Imams Ramsdale Abedini he didn't have freedom of you know the
[26:32]freedom of speech everyone lived during the different political circumstance during the
[26:39]time of Imam Abu Bakr and Imam Sadiq there were many rebellions
[26:43]and revolutions taking place many of the Muslims they started revolting so
[26:46]the abysses they began to revolt and the abysses are from the
[26:52]children of Abbas the uncle of the prophets they came up and
[26:55]they started revolting and their slogan was a Ravana and Ali Mohammed
[26:59]we want to bring the satisfaction to add Mohammed so they came
[27:03]with that name with that excuse once they took power what did
[27:08]they do they started persecuting the Imams one after the other this
[27:11]is why soon after him a Mossad that got a Saddam towards
[27:13]the end of his life he was under house arrest him a
[27:16]man called them his son he was placed in prison so another
[27:20]government came and they were just as bad as many Omiya but
[27:25]there was that time the fall of one government and the rise
[27:27]that gave the imam mahdi salaam relative freedom there were many revolutions
[27:33]so there was no the governments didn't have firm Authority Zaid the
[27:37]son of Imam Zainab Dean he was revolting against many ommaya so
[27:40]that gave you know it did the the governments they were busy
[27:46]you know dealing in crushing other revolutions the Imam Ali said I'm
[27:50]using the Masjid teaching so he had that relative freedom and the
[27:53]opportunity to teach so one thing politically you see that the Muslim
[27:59]empire was growing but was it growing with substance or just by
[28:07]name by name Muslims were the Muslim empire was growing but who
[28:11]had seen the Prophet who had seen any of them Moms no
[28:14]one was you know well acquainted with the Imams they just Muslim
[28:17]my name the way many Muslims are right now now as the
[28:23]Muslim empire was growing many new ideologies and thoughts were entering the
[28:28]Muslim sphere for example the philosophy today the philosophy of Plato and
[28:33]Aristotle and Socrates they entered into the Muslim sphere and then they
[28:38]were translated into Arabic and then from Arabic they were translated into
[28:42]English so today when you read a book about Socrates and Aristotle
[28:44]you're reading a book that was translated from Greek or Roman to
[28:50]Arabic and then now it's translated to any other language so it
[28:56]was during that era during that Muslim era that there was the
[29:00]freedom of thought so there were many you know ideas many people
[29:04]they were coming with and they were coming with ideas and they
[29:10]were teaching people different thoughts there were many people who did not
[29:13]even believe in God atheists agnostics they were there now someone could
[29:17]say at that time Muslims tolerated this yes more than today today
[29:21]Muslims don't tolerate anyone who speaks their mind but at that time
[29:25]during the time of Imam Sadiq there was some type of tolerance
[29:27]and of course there were there would be tolerance because they're not
[29:31]afraid I'm Assad that was no one refuting all of this when
[29:34]it mounts up as though and who is refuting all of these
[29:36]misconceptions no one would be afraid but if you don't have a
[29:42]scholar like Imam Sadiq or the other Imams are all persecuted then
[29:45]it would be a problem so the Imam Ali Salaam he had
[29:53]he was able to teach and he was able to you know
[29:55]spread his knowledge and there was that freedom just like others were
[29:58]saying whatever they want to say and the Imam Ali said I'm
[30:02]he also had the opportunity this is why perhaps about the Imams
[30:05]after all sort of line Imam Ali perhaps and and I'm in
[30:11]media as well perhaps Imam Sadiq is on top of the Imams
[30:14]of you know there's a lot written about him you don't find
[30:19]for example a lot written about nost giry Mahmud Hardy but you'll
[30:22]find a lot written about Russell Ibrahim Ali about Hasan and Husayn
[30:27]Imam Hussein more and Imam Sadiq because I'm sorry Allen Salaam he
[30:34]had there's a lot of hadith narrated from the Imam and what
[30:38]what many have written about this the books that I will be
[30:42]looking at are also available online you don't need to buy them
[30:49]we're just going to be teaching one is a book by the
[30:53]name of a mimosa de palma de hablar ba and i'm imam
[30:55]sadiq and the four schools of thought by assad Haider it's four
[31:01]volumes this is a very important book there is another book by
[31:05]the name of Alameda de a-- it's a scholar he's written about
[31:11]all the fourteen masoom and there's one chapter about imam sadiq I
[31:14]didn't I didn't record the name of the scholar but you could
[31:17]search our lamb in Hidayah there is say it to say Mohammed
[31:26]Cavanaugh Sweeney he is who is my grandfather's cousin he has two
[31:30]books about mom Sadiq alehissalaam one is referred to as imam sadiq
[31:35]Minelli metal Allah had Imam Sadiq from the cradle to the grave
[31:41]he's written this is a one-volume book and then he started a
[31:45]series on Imam Sadiq it's called Moshe watch imam sadiq a series
[31:50]on the imam and now it's up to 60 volumes his son's
[31:54]completing it and some of them are in the office here some
[31:59]of the some of the volumes of that of that series most
[32:01]wat Imam Sadiq that's not just one book it's a a series
[32:07]on amount Masada and it's reached over 60 volumes from what I
[32:10]believe so in that one he talks about the life of the
[32:14]Imam and then all of the hadith of the Imam are also
[32:15]mentioned all of the hadith they're gathered and they're mentioned and the
[32:19]the series is growing now how are we able to get so
[32:24]much you know over 60 volumes some scholars writes about and another
[32:30]book is my on my formative anomaly that is also a book
[32:36]that I'm looking at about the imam ali salam why do we
[32:40]have so much information because the imam had the freedom and the
[32:43]imam had you know students historians mentioned there were over 4,000 students
[32:47]of imam ja'far as-sadiq at a time and they have their names
[32:50]down 4000 students one narrator he says I went to Masjid el
[32:56]Kufa I entered into Masjid in Kufa the Imam is in Medina
[32:58]and Masuda Kufa in Iraq he says I went into medical Kufa
[33:04]I saw circles throughout the whole method of people gathered and each
[33:08]one saying had definite definite Jaffa Robina muhammad and sodom hadith annie
[33:12]i heard from Jaffa Rosado I heard from Jaffa Aden they're all
[33:18]learning from the amount yes sister freedom of speech was it a
[33:25]few years ten years it was it probably lasted a few decades
[33:31]the last few decades of his life and towards the end of
[33:33]his life he was under house arrest as well but the Imam
[33:37]Ali Saddam was able to teach from the time of Imam Ibaka
[33:39]up until his death then things I don't have the exact numbers
[33:45]in sha allah we will look at that later I don't have
[33:47]all that right now written so he was born near 80 AD
[33:53]after Hydra and he died 148 after Hitler of course there are
[33:57]some that say he he was born 85 84 so there's a
[34:01]dispute in the in the year of birth but given that he
[34:05]lived 68 65 years so during that time he was able to
[34:11]teach and the Imam Mahdi's and I'm he not only taught you
[34:13]know his own students he wasn't secluded with his own group named
[34:17]Ahmad I said I'm he taught all you know everyone and the
[34:21]message of the Prophet he would teach and mustard in Kufa he
[34:23]would teach so yes sister yeah so the Imam lived in Iraq
[34:30]for several for a time he lived in Medina for a time
[34:34]he stayed in Karbala for a time he was throughout his life
[34:36]he lived in in many places and through during those places you
[34:39]would teach yes yes so one of his students abu hanifa and
[34:46]what does Abu Hanifa say about the Imam Lola's Senate on no
[34:50]the Senate on the helican no man if it was not for
[34:55]the two years the man would have perished referring to himself this
[34:58]is Abu Hanifa another and we're going later on we're going to
[35:04]talk about the debates that the Imam had with you know he
[35:06]was one of the adversaries of them um he was a student
[35:08]of their mom and then later on you came and he announced
[35:09]himself as a you know the government's they would prop him up
[35:13]and they would announce him as a leader yes sister so abu
[35:19]hanifa studied for two years another one was Malik the Maliki school
[35:25]of thought he was also a student of the mm now Abu
[35:30]Hanifah he resorted to logical and reason and this is why he
[35:33]has an argument about the US he would he would resort to
[35:38]chaos which was an an out using an analogy to deduct a
[35:43]rule and they mom told him don't do pious Shaitaan was the
[35:45]first who did Leah's Shaitaan said you created me from you created
[35:48]me from fire and you created him from soil and fires better
[35:52]than soil they mom told him you can't in Nadine allah la
[35:55]casa milà a pool you can't use only your utterly pure without
[36:00]any hadith here and there to derive laws from allah subhanaw taala
[36:03]another school of thought was Malik who was more into hadith he
[36:09]was in Medina so you could imagine there's more Sahaba there there's
[36:13]more tabular in there there's he was more into hadith Malik I
[36:16]bananas he's the Imam of the Maliki school of thought he also
[36:22]studied under the imam ali salaam and he says what la mera
[36:24]a tiny calm in Jaffa Rodney Mohammed's or fatherland why bad that
[36:29]Anwar and were contracted off a acrimony well yochabel LA he says
[36:38]my eyes have not seen anyone more of one min fatherland in
[36:42]honor where I by the turn in in worship water and fear
[36:49]from Allah and zord and piety and being ascetic other than Jafar
[36:54]al-sadiq and then he says in another statement wah marvelous a me
[36:59]at other noon well ah hapara Katara Allah that'll be bashar of
[37:05]Welman Jeffress our fatherland Wileman why bad the turn war on he's
[37:08]a he's an imam of a school of thought and he says
[37:12]mara it's einen the first one he says i did not see
[37:15]anyone mara a tiny this time he says no eye has seen
[37:18]anyone bet better than and no ear has heard and no heart
[37:23]has came across anyone better than Jafar al-sadiq through his end through
[37:28]his knowledge through his worship and through his walk through his fear
[37:32]of allah subhanaw taala now these are two that studied directly under
[37:35]the imam therefore mother hip right now there's the humbly the chef
[37:40]the Maliki and there's the Shaffer and there's the humbly yes hanafusa
[37:46]abu hanifa we mentioned he's the first he studied under the imam
[37:51]and the second was Malik the Maliki they studied directly under them
[37:54]now the Shia and the humbly they did not study directly under
[37:59]the Iran but through their students so Shafi hughes the students of
[38:03]Malik who studied from the Imam and humble he was the student
[38:05]of SH a fairy who studied from magic who studied from the
[38:10]Imam so in one way or another they all benefited from the
[38:13]Imam but today when Muslims talk about scholars do they mention Imam
[38:16]sada there's no mention of the Imam at a time even though
[38:21]he was the teacher of the for madad he was the teacher
[38:25]of the four schools of thought so if you're following this person
[38:28]go and follow the teacher the teacher who they they say about
[38:32]him they say you know known as Sanatana helic was not for
[38:35]the two years the man would have perished the other one he
[38:38]says my eyes had not seen anyone today there you could tell
[38:43]there is a purposeful you know seclusion of the a debate leaving
[38:47]them out Bukhari Bukhari he died year 256 after hijra and I'm
[38:52]aside that what year did he die 148 after hijra who's closer
[38:56]to the prophets and I'm sorry Bukhari does not narrate one hadith
[39:01]from him I'm sudden they asked him why he said in my
[39:05]heart there's something I'm not comfortable with him and nephew tell me
[39:10]shade says something is in my heart so this is why we
[39:13]have to bring out and introduce animal side of to the world
[39:17]so the Imam Ali Salaam he was very influential a Sunni schools
[39:24]of thought the she had she had followers he had many from
[39:27]different schools of thought many other sects they all agreed that he
[39:29]was the most knowledgeable he was the most knowledgeable that they would
[39:32]all refer to and he was there to answer the difficult questions
[39:37]so as we mentioned it was an open you know an open
[39:40]environment freedom so you had this is why we have many narrations
[39:45]of that would come and debate with the Imam so the Imam
[39:48]alehissalaam he would tell them he would tell him go and debate
[39:53]my students if you can debate my students then come to me
[39:55]go and debate with her shaman al-hakam one of the students of
[39:57]the amount he says if you can debate him and you could
[40:01]be a man your debate then come to me this is shows
[40:05]house you know how the students were you know he tells one
[40:07]of his students one of his students he tells them go and
[40:12]sit and message it in Kufa and give fatwa he tells one
[40:17]of his students he tells him go and sit in mustard Kufa
[40:19]and give fatwa this means that his students they had learned so
[40:22]much from him that he entrusted them to that level and this
[40:27]is why you know mustards today we come and we rely on
[40:31]the hadith of Zahra and the hadith of a ban had been
[40:34]totally banned the hadith of this students of the Imams you know
[40:36]they say that abandonment a globe and Zahra they narrated over thirty
[40:43]thousand hadith from the Imam on Islam thirty thousand hadith how many
[40:48]hadith do we have memorized now imagine these students that memorize over
[40:53]thirty thousand hadith from one imam and he says imam sadiq he
[40:56]says my hadith is the hadith of my father who ladies of
[41:00]his father his father until Rasul Allah until jabrai until Allah so
[41:04]this is the Imam RA Sarah of course the Imam is not
[41:07]limited to only Islam and religion and Quran and these type of
[41:15]things the Imam Ali said I'm he would teach his students in
[41:17]many different fields fields of chemistry fields of astronomy fields of biology
[41:21]all of these they were the students of the Imam Ali whom
[41:25]Saddam so for example job that I've been hyeyeon job at have
[41:28]been high on the father of modern day chemistry job but I've
[41:34]been high on he wrote a book a treatise he begins his
[41:36]book by saying submit to him and say you do you Amol
[41:39]I Jafar Ana Muhammadan Assad up and then he writes he says
[41:42]I heard from my master Jaffa bin Mohammed Assad and then he
[41:47]writes about chemistry so imagine the Imam RA Salam he was teaching
[41:50]people in all fields in every field out there he would teach
[41:53]people and he would have his students they would specialize the students
[41:59]of the Imam they would specialize in different fields for example in
[42:04]filk here's Arara he had unis have been Abdul Rahman they would
[42:08]sit in the Masjid and they would give fatwa they would teach
[42:11]people in the Imam is in Medina unis have been Abdul Rahman
[42:13]and Zara there in another place and there they're sitting in there
[42:16]teaching people they say cementum and Sodom he had students that were
[42:22]in chemistry as we said you know Javed have been high on
[42:26]he had students that were in in biology and and you know
[42:33]all of these all of these theology all in sham abdel hakim
[42:35]sham and how come he was one of the students who was
[42:39]specialized in theology that's why he would do her shamrockin was a
[42:42]young student of the Imam you would go out and you would
[42:45]defeat this old man who would talk about you know they would
[42:47]argue about God and the existence of God neshama Pennell Hakham he
[42:52]would go out and he would he would do that so this
[42:55]is what the Imam RA said I'm did and finally the Imam
[42:58]did all of this through the best of luck through the best
[43:01]morality today you might go to universities you might find people that
[43:05]are geniuses but then you find they have zero morality they have
[43:11]zero ethics the imam ali salaam he not only taught people he
[43:15]inspired people they Romilly said i'm he was disciplining his students he
[43:19]said he used to raise the students he would tell them this
[43:23]is how you have to act this is how you should be
[43:25]and this is why there is a lot to learn from the
[43:29]imam ali asana so someone asks you why are you learning about
[43:34]Imam Sadiq because of all these reasons now throughout the scores what
[43:38]we're going to do is it's not going to be like the
[43:39]biography of the Prophet where we begin from day one up until
[43:45]the end because the Imam Ali said I'm his life is it
[43:48]is recorded in that way as well but what we're going to
[43:50]do is we're going to look at the biography and the light
[43:53]the personal life of the amount but then once we after we
[43:56]passed that stage we're going to talk about topics regarding the amount
[44:00]for example the political life of the amount that's going to be
[44:04]one class how he dealt with many knob that's how he dealt
[44:06]with many of Maya the students of the Imam were going to
[44:10]dedicate you know time to talk about the students of the EEMA
[44:12]the adversaries of the imam abu hanifa you know all these people
[44:17]who would argue with the Imam the debates the theological debates of
[44:20]the Imam we're going to talk about we're going to inshallah if
[44:23]allah subhanaw taala gives us life we're going to do that and
[44:28]this is how we're going to study the life of the Imam
[44:29]so with that we end this first session and Charla next week
[44:34]we will begin delving into the life of the amount beginning with
[44:38]the personal biography of the Imam al hamdu lillahi rabbil alameen wa
[44:41]sallahu hamid my dream
