Noor Association celebrated the 15th of Shaban with a two-day event consisting of Quran recitations, anasheed, and as a highlight: lectures by the esteemed Sayed Mohammed Baqer Al-Qazwini on the topic of Imam al-Mahdi and the Faraj.

On night one, the Sayed spoke about the verses we can find in the Quran which speak of the imam (ajf) and his Faraj. According to authentic sources there are as many as 120 verses that speak of imam Zaman (ajf) in the Quran of which the tafseer is still with us today. In this lecture, the Sayed delves deeper into 3 of those verses:
1. 2:2
ذَٰلِكَ الْكِتَابُ لَا رَيْبَ ۛ فِيهِ ۛهُدًى لِّلْمُتَّقِينَ الَّذِينَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِالْغَيْبِ وَيُقِيمُونَ الصَّلَاةَ وَمِمَّا رَزَقْنَاهُمْ يُنفِقُونَ
2. 14:5
وَذَكِّرْهُم بِأَيَّامِ اللَّـهِ
3. 57:17
اعْلَمُوا أَنَّ اللَّهَ يُحْيِي الْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَا

who has been studying Islamic sciences (jurisprudence, doctrine, history, etc.) for more than 10 years. The Sayed grew up in the
United States and has a BA in Sociolgie in addition to his Islamic credentials. In 2017, Sayed returned to Dearborn Michigan, after 10 years of studying at the Islamic Institute of Qom, where he founded al-Hujjah Seminary. This is an Islamic college taught entirely in English.
This episode outlines the challenges faced by Muslims today. Doubts about the existence of God, depression, LGBTQ and the suffering of a life without a purpose are discussed.

De Sayed is opgegroeid in de Verenigde Staten en heeft naast zijn islamitische credentials ook een BA in Sociolgie. In 2017 is de Sayed teruggekeerd naar Dearborn Michigan om, na 10 jaar studeren in de islamitische instituut van Qom, al-Hujjah Seminary op te richten. Dit is een islamitische college volledig in het Engels.
