What about mustahab fasts? You have until sunset to make the intention, as long as you haven’t done actions that break a fast.

Now having stated the raid that they did on the house of the Imam (a), what’s the discussion on al-Sardab al-Muqaddas, the holy basement as we call it?Today if you talk to Muslims from other schools of thought, one big misconception they have in their minds is that we the Shia believe the Mahdi lives in the basement, and he has been hiding in that basement for 11-12 centuries. That is not true. That is not the case. The story about the basement is that during the minor occultation, Mahdi (a) would often be in his residence in his house in Samarra. It is when the major occultation started that the Imam (a) no longer had an official residence, and that he would reside everywhere. But before that, he did have a house, and many times he would be in his house. His grandmother was alive and there were some other relatives. So he was with his grandmother. The caliph commands his guards after hearing reports that the Mahdi is in the house to capture the Mahdi (a). The guards stormed the house of the Imam (a). He was in the basement reciting Quran. They heard his voice. People in Iraq and in other hot regions have basements in their homes to protect themselves from severe heat. So he was in his own house in the basement reciting Quran and supplicating to Allah when the troops of al-Mohtadi (the Abbasid caliph) heard him. The troops had a commander. The commander said we’ve heard his voice so we are certain he is here…let me go and get more soldiers. As they were waiting for more soldiers, the troops saw a young person—maybe a teenager at the time. They saw a young boy pass by them and none of them could do anything or lift a finger. The presence of Imam al-Mahdi was so powerful that they just kept staring at him. When the Imam (a) left the house, the commander ordered his guards to go to the basement as they brought more reinforcement. The soldiers said: What do you mean? He just passed by us. He just left. The commander asked: When did he leave? I did not see him. The commander was blinded from seeing the Imam (a). The solders said they saw him. He had left the house. “Why did not you capture him?” The commander asked angrily. They said: You were standing here. You did not say anything to us. You did not command us to capture him. So we just looked at him because we thought you were looking at him too. So imam (a) escaped from the house and Allah protected him. We don’t believe that the Imam (a) is hiding in a basement for 11 centuries. This is a myth. And the reason we consider the basement holy is not because the Imam (a) is living there. It is because he used to live here. If there is a room and you are told that the Prophet (s) prayed there, would you not want to go there and supplicate to Allah? Would you not find the place holy? Don’t the people at the time of Hajj go to the cave of Heraa which is just a cave? Why do they go to a cave? Because the Prophet (s) used to worship Allah there. Imam al-Hadi (a) would worship Allah in this house. Imam al-Askari (a) would worship in this house, and Imam al-Mahdi (a) would worship in this house. You have 3 Imams of AhlulBayt(a) who used to worship in that basement. That is why the Shia go and seek the blessings of Allah in this basement. It is not because the Imam (a) is hiding there. The Imam left the basement.

Most of them will say that:
1. Socially they are taught it is a moral virtue.
2. Conscience tells them it is a moral virtue However, these two are not fixed and hence have no real value. Society’s standard is ever shifting, and conscience can be corrupted. For example, look at society’s perception of homosexuality 50 years ago and today. Moral standards have to be fixed and this is where religions comes in.#Hawza #Seminary #Alhujjah #islam #shia #Qazwini #share #like

This clip explains the two meanings behind the power of language given to the intellect. The first is that the intellect has a physical embodiment which God created (the literal meaning), and it obeys God. The second is a symbolic meaning, i.e. the intellect obeys God because it perceives and understand.
