[7:16]the teaching of al al bayt may god commend them for such
[7:21]work and now we are blessed blessed to host a successful scholar
[7:28]of the qazwini family another pillar of our islamic understanding we are
[7:34]very eager for him to share that his religious knowledge and insight
[7:39]with us please help me in welcoming sayyid salih al qazwini to
[7:44]the podium with a loud salawat i begin by congratulating you all
[8:58]on this auspicious occasion on the birth of sayyidah tunisah al amin
[9:06]the leader of all of the woman of the world that is
[9:13]fatima tuzahara the daughter of rasulullah sallallahu alaihi wa'alehi who in her
[9:21]birth she brought joy to the heart of rasulallah sallallahu alaihi wa'alehi
[9:28]rasulallah was extremely happy for the birth of this great daughter a
[9:36]daughter who ended up becoming the greatest lady that stepped foot on
[9:43]this earth and that is fatima tuzarah alaihi salaam fatima tuzarah was
[9:51]born in the twentieth on the twentieth of jamadi thani the second
[9:57]jamadi five years after the baqtha of rasulallah five years after rasulallah
[10:06]was commissioned as a prophet and she died only a few weeks
[10:15]or months after the death of rasulullah sallallahu alaihi wa'alehi so this
[10:20]means that she lived a very short life she lived for eighteen
[10:26]years but within those eighteen years she managed to accomplish so much
[10:35]where she became the greatest lady not only of her time but
[10:41]the greatest lady of all times where rasoolallah sallallahu alaihi wa'alehi would
[10:47]equate her satisfaction and her anger with the satisfaction and the anger
[10:54]of allah subhanahu wa ta'ala rasoolallah says in a hadith that is
[11:00]accepted by all muslims and a hadith that is narrated by bukhari
[11:05]rasoolallah says allah is satisfied by the satisfaction of fatima and allah
[11:18]is angered by the anger of fatima this means satisfaction and the
[11:24]anger of allah revolves around the satisfaction and the anger of this
[11:30]great lady fatima now of course rasulullah yes he was a loving
[11:37]man a man who showed so much love to his family but
[11:43]rasulullah would not say such a thing only based on emotions rasulullah
[11:49]sallallahu alaihi wa'alehi the quran describes him anything that rasulullah says is
[11:59]a divine order from allah subhanahu wa ta'ala rasoolallah doesn't just come
[12:04]and say a word or a statement as big as that for
[12:08]no reason in another hadith ibn abbas the cousin of rasulullah he
[12:16]says one day rasulullah he drew four lines in the sand in
[12:22]front of all of the muslims and then he says the four
[12:28]these lines represent four of the greatest ladies that have lived that
[12:35]have come on this earth and then he tells them who they
[12:40]are he says the wife of pharaoh she was the wife of
[12:51]pharaoh a man who was claiming to be god a man who
[12:55]was an oppressive tyrant but in that house a great virtuous lady
[13:01]great believing lady was living and allah subhanahu wa ta'ala makes her
[13:06]as a role model an example for all of the mumineen all
[13:10]of the believers she became an example for all the believers this
[13:23]is one and second maryam ubn nathu imran the mother of jesus
[13:29]mary who is mentioned and a whole chapter in the quran is
[13:33]dedicated in her name chapter 19 of the quran maryam and then
[13:39]he says the wife of rasoolallah the first wife of rasoolallah and
[13:47]the only wife that gave children that lived and a progeny to
[13:52]rasulullah sallallahu alaihi wa'alehi and fourth fatima ibn to muhammad now this
[14:04]is a hadith that is narrated by sunnis and shias however the
[14:08]shia hadith continues and it says and fatima is the greatest of
[14:13]all of them fatima is greater than all of those women and
[14:18]yes this is no surprise for us one day rasulullah he tells
[14:24]fatima to zahra you are the leader of all of the women
[14:31]of the world so fatima tazarah she replies she tells him isn't
[14:38]that maryam ibnatu imran rasulullah he tells her mariam was the leader
[14:55]of the woman of her time but you o fatima you are
[14:59]a role model you are a leader of the woman of all
[15:03]times this is fatima alaihi salaam now with the few minutes that
[15:09]we have what made fatima so great what was she doing that
[15:14]made her so great where her satisfaction and her anger where the
[15:19]satisfaction and anger of allah revolves around her satisfaction and her anger
[15:24]this is a question that we have to ask while we are
[15:27]commemorating the birth and celebrating the birth of this great lady we
[15:31]have to ask a lady that lived for only eighteen years what
[15:35]made her so great what could she possibly have done to reach
[15:40]those heights to reach that status and that position first of all
[15:47]imam saddiq he was asked why was fatima named fatima why was
[15:55]she named that name fatima imam saddiq he replies with an answer
[16:00]because people could not even comprehend her great status fatima is so
[16:13]great that we cannot even comprehend her great status however we will
[16:19]give it a try we will point to certain aspects from the
[16:24]life of this great lady that made her so great first of
[16:29]all according to our traditions even according to the quran fatima zahra
[16:36]was a gift from allah rasoolallah sallallahu alaihi wa'alehi rasoolallah he was
[16:44]having children he would have boys and they would die at a
[16:48]young age they would not last long they would live for a
[16:53]few months and then they would die and this would break the
[16:56]heart of rasulullah sallallahu alaihi wa'alehi so some of the mushrikeen some
[17:03]of the polytheists they would harass rasulullah sallallaho alaihi wa'alehi and they
[17:08]would call him abtar they would keep harassing and abusing and verbally
[17:13]assaulting rasulullah sallallaho alaihi wa'alehi and allah tells rasulullah i will defend
[17:20]you from those who verbally assault you we know that this breaks
[17:30]your heart in another verse allah tells him those who make fun
[17:37]of you we will deal with them because we're going to give
[17:42]you a gift that is so great that the world will be
[17:46]talking about her fourteen hundred years later and that is fatima alaihi
[17:51]salaam rasulullah according to the hadith he goes to the heavens and
[17:59]he eats from a fruit in paradise he eats from that fruit
[18:04]and after eating from that fruit he comes down back to earth
[18:10]to khadija and fatima tazarah alaihis salam is conceived and allah subhanahu
[18:17]wa ta'ala gives him fatima from khadija and allah tells him your
[18:31]enemy the ones who are calling you abta abta means the one
[18:35]who does not have a lineage they are the ones who will
[18:39]not have a lineage and this is what fatima alaihi salaam is
[18:43]today all of the sayyid's all over the world there are millions
[18:48]of sayyid's from the descendants of rasulullah sallallahu alaihi salaam they all
[18:53]go back through fatima alaihi salaam even though rasulullah had many wives
[18:58]there were many women in the house of rasulullah but the the
[19:03]progeny of rasulullah is only through fatima and amir al mumineen ali
[19:09]ibn abi talib and this is the kawthar this is the khair
[19:12]al kathir that allah subhanahu wa ta'ala has given rasulullah through fatima
[19:22]she was a gift from allah subhanahu wa ta'ala this is why
[19:26]rasulullah he would go to fatima and he would smell the neck
[19:30]of his daughter fatima some people they would ask rasulullah you rasulullah
[19:35]what are you doing he would tell them anytime i miss the
[19:40]scent of paradise because rasulullah he smelled the scent of paradise he
[19:46]says anytime i miss the scent of paradise i would go and
[19:50]i would smell fatima alaihi salaam allahumas salaam alaihis this is one
[20:01]point fatima was a gift from allah to rasoolallah sallallahu alaihi wa'alehi
[20:06]second fatima tazara alaihi was a role model in every aspect in
[20:13]her life every aspect every feature of her life that you look
[20:18]at that you study you will see that she was a role
[20:22]model when it came to service to allah subhanahu wa ta'ala when
[20:26]it came to ibadah fatima tazarah alaihi salaam was the greatest when
[20:32]it came to philanthropy and community service and social reform fatima tazarah
[20:38]alaihis salam she had a role and when it came to the
[20:44]role of a female being a daughter being a wife and being
[20:49]a mother you see that fatima tazarah alaihis salam was the greatest
[20:55]in that and of course we don't want to confine the role
[21:00]of fatima tzarah to just being a lady and it would be
[21:03]an insult to fatima tzarah to say that she's a role model
[21:07]just for the woman no fatima to zara'at is a role model
[21:11]for the men and the women and every single believer should look
[21:15]at her as a role model she was the best when it
[21:21]came to worship when it came to ibadah and my dear brothers
[21:25]and sisters we are all in need of worship we are all
[21:29]in need of ibadah the only path to allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
[21:34]is through the path of worship in fact our purpose on this
[21:38]life is to worship we have to perfect our worship let's look
[21:49]at fatima tazarah alaihi salaam as a role model imam al hassan
[21:54]the closest person to her her oldest son he says i have
[22:04]not seen anyone that worships greater and better than my mother fatima
[22:10]this was fatima in her worship she would worship she would enter
[22:17]into her mihraab and she would pray and pray and recite the
[22:21]quran until she became known as az zahra imam saddiq alaihis salam
[22:29]was asked why is she named az zahra he says she is
[22:33]named az zahra when she would enter into her mihraab when she
[22:47]would enter into her prayer place she would glow and she would
[22:51]illuminate to those in the skies just like the stars illuminate for
[22:56]those on earth this is why she was named as zahra this
[23:01]was fatima alaihi salaam in her worship in her ibadah where her
[23:07]face would glow with noor with lights her face would illuminate and
[23:13]this is not an exaggeration even the wife of the prophet aisha
[23:19]she mentions that we used to place the needle the thread in
[23:24]the needle by the light of the face of fatima alaihi salaam
[23:29]this was fatima alaihi salaam in her worship in her ibadah she
[23:34]was the best she used to work in the house and she
[23:40]used to exhaust herself so one day she wanted to go and
[23:45]ask rasulullah amir al mumineen tells her go and ask rasulullah to
[23:50]give you a helper to give you someone who can help you
[23:53]in the house with your day daily matters in the house she
[23:57]goes she tries to speak to rasulullah she sees rasulullah is busy
[24:01]so she goes back that night rasulullah he comes and he asks
[24:06]fatima what is it that you wanted you came you wanted to
[24:09]speak to me you wanted to tell me something what is it
[24:13]she was embarrassed to ask her own father for a help and
[24:17]someone to come and help in the house so amir al mu'mineen
[24:21]he says i began to tell rasulullah i tell him you rasulullah
[24:24]fatima has been working in the house she has exhausted herself and
[24:30]at that time the daily chores in the house they would take
[24:33]time they would take effort they would take a toll on your
[24:36]body even though amir al mumineen was always there to help out
[24:40]but life at that time was not easy so rasulullah he tells
[24:46]her oh fatima and oh ali i'm going to teach you something
[24:52]that if you do it you're not going to need a helper
[24:55]you're not going to need someone who comes and helps you so
[24:59]he tells her every night and every day say allahu akbar 34
[25:05]times alhamdulillah 33 times and subhanallah 33 times now if someone if
[25:14]one of us we're exhausted were tired and we go and we
[25:17]say i need help i need help and someone tells me say
[25:21]allahu akbar 34 times alhamdulillah 33 times and subhanallah 33 times what
[25:27]would my reaction be most of us would get upset most of
[25:32]us would not be happy with that reply fatima tazarah alaihi salaam
[25:37]she says i am satisfied with allah and with his prophet i
[25:43]am satisfied with what rasulullah has given me and today this tasbihatu
[25:48]zahra after every prayer after every prayer before you do anything before
[25:53]you move take the sabha and only takes a minute and say
[25:58]that tasbihat zahra 34 times allahu akbar 33 times alhamdulillah and 33
[26:04]times subhanallah this is the legacy of fatima tasbihat zahra alaihi salam
[26:09]imam saddab or imam al bakr they say i would rather have
[26:14]tasbiha to zahra over 1,000 rakahs it's greater to me than 1,000
[26:22]rakahs this is the tasbiha fatima to zahra alaihi salaam so this
[26:28]is when it came to her worship second when it came to
[26:32]her philanthropy when it came to her social justice when it came
[26:36]to her helping the community fatima tazara alaihis salam was not just
[26:41]a lady who was sitting in the masjid or in the house
[26:44]and praying and she had nothing to do with what's going on
[26:47]outside no fatima tazara was very involved with what was going on
[26:53]in her community in her society and she would participate and she
[26:59]would help and this is why rasulullah he needed fatima tazarah he
[27:05]needed khadija he needed these great women to be able to build
[27:10]the religion of islam and deliver the religion of islam to the
[27:13]community these women they were not just sitting in their home and
[27:18]saying no no no i shouldn't do anything no they were very
[27:21]involved they were involved with their community and they took care of
[27:28]those who were in need philanthropy is very important we have to
[27:34]do that allah subhanahu wa ta'ala will not only look at you
[27:37]for how much you pray your prayer is going to help you
[27:41]but what have you done for others it is mentioned in the
[27:44]hadith that prophet ibrahim alaihis salam he along with his son ismail
[27:49]they built the kaaba ibrahim was very proud after he built the
[27:54]kaaba he built it took him time after he was done he
[27:58]was looking at the kaaba and he was he was feeling very
[28:03]happy that he was able he had the privilege to build the
[28:07]kaaba so allah subhanahu wa ta'ala tells him you ibrahim why are
[28:11]you happy he says you allah i had the opportunity i have
[28:16]the privilege to build the sacred house of allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
[28:20]why would i not be happy allah tells him did you feed
[28:30]a hungry person did you clothe someone who's in need that's something
[28:34]to be happy about building the kaaba yes be happy for that
[28:38]but if you want the greatest reward you have to help out
[28:41]others around you and this is what islam teaches us this is
[28:45]what religion teaches us not only to think of yourself and your
[28:49]worship but to think of your community and people around you and
[28:53]this was fatima alaihi salaam she would give she kept giving and
[28:59]giving on her wedding day on her wedding night she has two
[29:05]outfits she has a new outfit and an old outfit rasulullah sallallaho
[29:10]alaihi wa'alehi hours before the wedding he comes and he sees his
[29:13]daughter fatima he sees she's wearing the old outfit so he tells
[29:18]her you fatima what's going on you're wearing the old outfit what
[29:22]happened to the new one she tells him you rasoolallah you abeta
[29:27]laqat qarachul quran i read the quran and i saw that allah
[29:33]states in the quran you will not seek righteousness unless you give
[29:44]that which you like and that was a dress that i liked
[29:48]this was fatima alaihi salaam this was the al al bayt allah
[29:53]describes in numerous occasions in the quran the giving of the al
[29:57]al bayt they kept giving in the way of allah subhanahu wa
[30:06]ta'ala now your giving doesn't necessarily need to be materialistic giving it
[30:12]could be a giving that shows that you care for people imam
[30:17]al hassan alaihis salam he says i used to see my mother
[30:21]on a thursday night she would enter into her mihrab and she
[30:27]would pray until her feet would swell and the whole night i
[30:33]hear her praying for the neighbors and praying for those who are
[30:36]around her he says after she was finished i was surprised i
[30:41]come to her i tell her oh mother the whole night you
[30:45]were praying for this person and that person this is the giving
[30:48]this is the philanthropy even when it comes to dua even when
[30:52]it comes to supplication so she said he says she tells me
[30:56]we pray for the neighbor and then we pray for ourselves even
[31:04]when it comes to giving even when it comes to dua she
[31:10]would do dua for others and this is a lesson that we
[31:13]all learn if i want my dua to be accepted for myself
[31:17]i have to do dua for other people if i want my
[31:19]prayers to be accepted for myself i should pray and care for
[31:24]other people care for my community care for my society her philanthropy
[31:30]did not stop there and when it came to giving when it
[31:34]came to dua and when it came to speaking against the injustice
[31:38]of her time after the death of rasulullah sallallahu alaihi wa a'alehi
[31:43]a great act of injustice took place and the religion of islam
[31:48]was being hijacked the quran was being abandoned and neglected someone has
[31:55]to come out and defend the quran someone has to come out
[31:59]and defend the religion of islam fatima tazarah alaihis salam once again
[32:04]she comes out for the sake of social reform for the sake
[32:09]of amr ibn maruf wal nayyi anil munkar because allah subhanahu wa
[32:14]ta'ala states that the obligation and the duty of amr ibn maroof
[32:18]is not something that is only obligatory upon the man allah states
[32:23]in the quran enjoining the good and forbidding the evil is an
[32:36]obligation upon men and women and fatima tazarah she saw that she
[32:41]had an obligation to defend the truth and she comes out to
[32:46]the masjid of rasulallah sallallahu alaihi wa'alehi and she gives that powerful
[32:52]sermon where she spoke against the injustice of her time and she
[32:57]reminded people of rasulallah sallallahu alaihi wa'alehi as she was walking inside
[33:02]the masjid even in her walk she would walk like her father
[33:13]rasulullah sallallahu alaihi wa'alehi rasoolallah was the second we said in her
[33:18]ibadah in her care for her community and third in her role
[33:23]as a female men have responsibilities and women have responsibilities in her
[33:30]role as a female you see that when she was a daughter
[33:33]she was the best daughter she was such a loving daughter to
[33:40]her father rasoolallah sallallahu alaihi wa'alehi to her mother khadija and she
[33:45]lost her mother at a young age she was an orphan as
[33:49]well but she would take care of her father rasulallah in such
[33:54]a way where rasulallah he gave her a title that no father
[34:01]has given his daughter he tells her you are the mother of
[34:06]your father she showed so much love to rasulallah so much compassion
[34:13]where some days rasulullah would come home bleeding from head to toe
[34:18]and his daughter fatima would wait for her father just like a
[34:23]mother waits for her son at the door she waits for her
[34:27]father rasulallah and when he comes home she would clean him and
[34:31]she would remove the blood from the body of rasulallah as a
[34:38]wife she moved on from a daughter to become a wife and
[34:43]she fulfilled the role of a wife and we learn one very
[34:48]important lesson from fatima alaihi salam from the marriage of fatima and
[34:52]amir al mumineen and that is that simplicity brings happiness happiness and
[34:59]joy in a family does not come from extravagant spending it does
[35:04]not come from having mansions it comes from simplicity go and look
[35:09]at the house of fatima and amir al mumineen look at that
[35:12]simple house but that was a house that brought joy and satisfaction
[35:17]where amir al mu'mineen thirty years later he would remember fatima and
[35:22]he would cry and he would say wallah not once did she
[35:26]anger me not once did she upset me not once did she
[35:31]irritate me and then he says and anytime i was go i
[35:38]had problems outside i would go to fatima fattin keshufu ani al
[35:43]humum wal humum he says anytime because the muslims were living in
[35:48]very turbulent times every day there's a battle every day there's a
[35:53]war every day the muslims are under attack every day something's going
[35:56]on so he says i would go to the house i would
[36:01]go to fatima and i would forget all of my problems this
[36:06]is a successful marriage a marriage that gave children a marriage that
[36:12]gave fruits and finally we move on to fatima as a mother
[36:17]and she was the greatest of mothers she was the best of
[36:21]mothers where she would teach her children the act of prayer and
[36:26]sacrifice and community service and devotion to the religion of islam we
[36:32]ask allah subhanahu wa ta'ala to grant us the ziyara of fatima
[36:37]tzarah and the shifa'a of fatima tzarah alaihis salam and once again
[36:42]i congratulate you all on this auspicious occasion excellent work again i
